Appearance: Kagami is quite tall, standing to be 190 cm ( or 6'3" ) in height. He has red hair that gets a shade darker towards the tips. His eyes are a matching crimson, as well as his unusual split eyebrows. He's extremely well built, muscles clearly visible. Due to his height and built, Kagami is known to have a overwhelming aura. Taking pride in his job, Kagami can be seen with his uniform, but avoids putting on the hat. Off duty, he wears casual clothing, consisting mainly of black. He tends to follow the American trend when it comes to fashion.
He wears a necklace around his neck with a ring that was given to him when he was younger. Though he's not sure why, Kagami finds the necklace to be a lucky charm. Playing with it also helps him to calm down in dangerous situations and think more clearly.

Personality: Kagami is very ambitious, stubborn and determined. He refuses to give up in a difficult situation and he is also very head strong. He is well known for his undying and furious fighting spirit. Though he can be a little hot-headed sometimes and can be provoked with just a few pokes, Kagami is mature when he needs to be. He learned to keep his focus on his task and not fall into simple traps.
Although he wishes to keep this a secret for as long as possible ( forever if he can ), Kagami is scared of dogs. It's not a phobia, however, and there are limits to how long he can stand being around them. Frankly, if he does his best to ignore their presence, he's fine.
Despite his slight aggressive nature, Kagami is quite a gentle guy. He's very good at cooking and can, for the most part, easily adapt to the people around him. He's friendly and easy to get along with, as long as you don't get on his bad side.
The redhead also has a tendency to speak in English every now and then, especially when he's agitated.

Background: Kagami was born in Japan but raised in America. His mother died after giving birth to him, so he never really knew what a mother's love and warmth is. However, he did have a great father who played both the father and mother role perfectly ( at least in Kagami's opinion ), so the loss wasn't too much of a shock for the redhead. Hence why Kagami has a strong bond with his father. The only problem was that his father sucked at cooking, so Kagami had to learn by himself. There was no way he was going to survive off on take outs and instant noodles.
His father is a well know officer in America and has a few connections with the Japanese police. In fact, he was a rather close friend with one of them until an unfortunate accident happened. Kagami who had always looked up to his father also became an officer and decided to move to Japan. His father was against it, knowing the dangers of the Yakuza and Mafia but Kagami strongly insisted.
His father is still alive, but their communication became limited due to the mafia and yakuza activity increasing. As of now, Kagami and his father makes sure to send a email or two every few months, or whenever they can.



Special Abilities/Weapons:

• Hand-to-hand Combat: Kagami is pretty good at fighting. He learned to fend for himself at a very young age. His reflexes are quite impressive and can easily avoid being stabbed. His left hand is also well trained, which gives him a good advantage during fights.
• Handgun: A single handgun he received from his father. It has a tiger engraving and Kagami cherishes it.
• Instincts: Kagami has a really sharp instinct. He can get into action almost immediately, and normally doesn't think twice about his actions because he trusts himself. His feelings are usually very precise.
• The Zone: Very rarely happens. It's notable that Kagami only enters this state when it's an all for nothing situation. His body goes into a complete relaxed mode and his focus is on a specific goal. His stamina increases, as well as his speed and power. When using his weapon, his accuracy increases. Once his focus is broken, Kagami is out of the zone.

Relationships:

• Kise Ryouta: Usually partnered when it comes to investigating the mafia, or overall, dealing with them. Kagami doesn't like the way the blond handles situations sometimes, especially when it comes to Aomine Daiki, but he learned to deal with it since that's the only way he'll get to meet the bluenette again.
• Aomine Daiki: Rivals. Some time along the story line, Red and Blue will clash. With a feeling of semi-admiration and the determination to capture the bluenette, Kagami has officially set Aomine as his rival.
• Himuro Tatsuya: They met at a pretty young age back in America. Started out as great friends, which eventually developed into somewhat of a brotherhood. Kagami was able to relate to Tatsuya in many ways, starting with their life with a single parent. Somewhere along the way, they drifted apart for a reason Kagami does not want to talk about. However, learning that Tatsuya was also in America, they kept in touch with simple text messages.
