Setting
"Come on, Kuroko." He exhaled slowly, not exactly cold but more impatient than anything. They hadn't really agreed where to go beforehand but he had no doubt they'd manage to find something if they looked long enough. That was good enough; perhaps a small, local cafe would be good. "Hurry up." Intoned to himself.
Walking around the busy streets, the phantom found the person he was looking for, and headed over, uncharacteristic goofy grin gracing his usually-stoic features. However, his usual face was resumed once more, and he tapped the other's shoulder. "Ogiwara-kun."
"You look well, Kuroko." He prompted cheerfully as he tugged his scarf down so he could speak more clearly. It was good to see him, to see the broad smile on his face; he hadn't changed. He felt reassured by that thought. "I figured we could go somewhere warm like a cafe, my treat because I invited you out?" Or something to that effect. He'd gotten taller huh... Though not by much. Or had Ogiwara simply shot up a lot during puberty? He had no idea, hadn't specifically kept track really. Hands jamming into his pockets. "Hah, but, I'm not too familiar with the area so maybe we can walk around until we find something?"
"You as well, Ogiwara-kun." The greeting was returned in kind, and Kuroko snuggled a bit more into his scarf to avoid the cold. "Anywhere is fine for now. To be honest, I would much rather we not catch up in such a cold environment." Seeing a small café nearby, he headed towards it, and turned back to Ogiwara. "Are you coming? I'm sure we can catch up and discuss the day over a nice cup of hot chocolate."
"So you don't drink coffee? Or tea?" He asked softly, surprised. Somehow he had imagined he would, it just being a normal part of getting older or something like that. As they sat at a table he chose the opposite seat but didn't sit directly opposing the blue haired man so he could stretch his legs out without kicking him. "Hmm... Hot chocolate does sound nice though." Lunch too, although he wasn't sure if Kuroko had eaten. Should he ask? Pensively he paused, so used to simply texting him. It felt a little weird to be reunited so suddenly and he itched to just reach for his phone instead.
"Do you want something to eat?" Fingertips brushed his brown hair out of his face before he settled his chin on one hand, arm propped up by elbow played atop smooth if slightly sticky table. He paused, waving for a waitress; "Can you wipe this down? It's a little dirty. Please." Asked out of automatic politeness and then sitting back as she proceeded to do so quickly. Eyes flitting from the woman to his conversational partner. "Like a sandwich or something?"
He saw that Ogiwara was about as awkward as he himself was. For the longest time, before losing contact since middle school, the two of them had kept in contact via phone and text messaging. He was indeed itching to reach for his phone, but having met with Ogiwara after so long, he thought it rude to do such. Instead, he looked up to his friend, and watched as the other tried to strike a conversation. He figured that perhaps he would also join in.
"I think I will have a hot chocolate...and perhaps a sandwich. It seems to be a good time for lunch." He mused, looking over to the menu that was folded neatly at their table. Placing it down, he then turned to look at Ogiwara, and tilted his head a bit. "What about you, Ogiwara-kun? What are you going to have?"
