The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Lolly was enjoying her job at the dance academy, it was really her dream job, Jason definitely enjoyed seeing Lolly doing something she loved so much, and he always enjoyed watching her dance...especially the private shows she would give him. Jason was also back working along side his dad at their shop, Outlaw Choppers, making custom bikes for customers. Their clientele was mostly rich guys, a lot of times guys in their mid to late 40's who were in the midst of a mid-life crisis or wanting to show off how "bad ass" they were. Everyone knew who Deacon and Jason were, so having a bike built by two former Outlaw bikers just added to the appeal. Jason and Deacon even got offered a job working for the TV show "The Renegades", a fictional TV show depicting the story of an outlaw biker gang in California. Jason and Deacon were brought on by the show's producer to act as consultants, to help the writers portray things as real as they could. It was the easiest money Jason or Deacon ever made, reading a script or watching some film clips and then telling the directors whether it was legit or not. That along with their bike business, neither Jason or Deacon had to worry about money. And Nickie embraced the role of being full-time grandma to the point that she would almost try to find reasons for Jason and Lolly to leave so she could get time with the kids, and Deacon was starting to fall into the full-time grandpa mode just as much, especially with Jack. Any time he was in his shop at home he'd have little Jack beside him, the same way he used to have Jason beside him when he was just tiny.
Jason was lying in bed that morning, grinning as he surveyed the damage. Nickie had offered to take the kids for another sleepover at Nana's house, and the night before Lolly and Jason had taken full advantage of the situation bringing back memories of when they were younger. He had his arms around Lolly as she woke up "you move pretty good for a mom" Jason said with a grin, and laughed at her reply. Jason and Lolly spent a bit more time lying in the bed before Jason kissed her as he stood up. "Gotta get to the shop, we're delivering two bikes and the old man is out golfing" Jason said as he was getting dressed, Lolly made a comment about Deacon golfing. "Yeah, I'm thinking all these old rich white guys are getting to him....promise me babe, if I ever decide to take up golfing...grab a gun and shoot me" Jason said chuckling. Lolly had made her way to the kitchen by the time Jason was ready to leave. He walked over to her giving her a kiss goodbye, "say hi to the Kiebler Elves when they get home" he said, his nick name he'd come up for the kids. He grinned as Lolly whispered something in his ear before he left, "great now I gotta try and concentrate at work after that huh?" he said with a grin as he headed out. Getting on his bike, it'd taken awhile to get used to getting on his bike without his cut. He headed to the shop, Rita their receptionist had already opened, she was also their acting office manager, not like it took a whole lot as she was mainly the only one in the office. Jason walked in, said good morning to Rita, then headed to the shop. Him and his dad had hired a couple other guys, mainly guys who had been in the KOA but had gone inside, and after getting released were wanting to go legit and get out of the lifestyle. To them they were legit, but working for Jason and Deacon Walker was added familiarity, in fact most of the guys still called them Roach and Deke in the shop.
"Hey Benny, how's the two deliveries looking today?" Jason asked as he walked in. Benny was their finishing guy who handled all the final touches of the bikes they built. "Hey Roach, we're looking good, just polishing down the chrome on the both of them and they're good to go" he said, working on a black chopper. Jason looked over the bike, "did Tony figure out the clicking on the shifter?" Jason asked, running his hand over the bike. "Yeah, they just replaced the handle-bar, figured whatever the issue was they would have to take the whole shifter apart to fix it so he went with a new part instead" Benny said. Benny was in his 40's, slightly pudgy, but had a big 6'3" frame so he didn't look too fat, he'd come from one of the KOA's Eastern charters and was looking to start his life over in Malibu. "Alright...tell him to keep the shifter, see if we can fix it and re-use it on another project" Jason said, Benny nodded. "Good work Benny Boy, put em on the ramps when they're ready to roll out" he said as he walked through the shop checking on some of the other projects. "So Roach, your old man is out golfing...is that for real?" one of the other mechanics, Frankie, called out. Jason laughed shrugging "Old age does weird shit to you I guess" Jason said laughing. As he was looking over some shop orders, Rita walked into the shop "Ummm...Jason...there's some guy to see you, says he's a friend of yours?", Jason looked at her "did this friend give a name?" he asked, "Sorry...just asked to talk with you...he's waiting in your office". Jason nodded and headed to the office.
As he walked into his office he saw the man waiting in his office, "are you fucking kidding me?" Jason said as he sat down at his desk. "Jason Walker...last time I saw you...you were escorting a convoy of illegal weapons...making me look kinda stupid" the man said. "So what in the world does the famous Nathan Sears want with me...I'm legit, running my own business, and the only thing I've killed in the last three years are the bugs trying to get into my house". Sears grinned, "Well...we need to talk".
She made her way to the kitchen, hoping to make Jason a hot breakfast before he left. She could do that now and she was surprisingly glad for it. She didn't want to wake up to him rushing out of the door, she no longer had to worry if someone was gonna call and tell her he was shot up in the hospital and she knew what he was doing. He didn't HAVE to shut her out for her own safety. It was surreal.
Jason walked in and give her a kiss. "Say hi to the Keliber Elves for me, when they come home." He said and she looked at him with a cheeky grin. "You mean tomorrow, I'm not through with you yet." She whispered and he grinned, "Great now I gotta try and concentrate at work after that, huh?"He said and Lolly giggled. "Don't work too hard, babe." She said as he left out. She still didn't make him breakfast but she knew she'd have 'dessert' waiting for him later.
She got to work early and got to doing her stretching before she got to teaching her class.
A few hours later, Lolly received a text from Jason asking her if she was home.
[To Jason:]
[On my way, why what's up?]
Her nerves were on high alert and she didn't know why.He then told her something to the effect of let him know when she was there. She frowned.
[To Jason:]
[Okay?]
With that, she made her way home.
He texted Lolly.
To: Lolly
From: Jason
Are you at home yet?
He waited a bit then got her response
To: Jason
From: Lolly
I'm on my way home now, what's up?
To: Lolly
From: Jason
Nothing, just let me know when you get home
Jason couldn't see Lolly signing off on this, she was his way out, all he needed was for her to say no, but he knew how guilty she felt about Nicky too. The other part that worried him was the part that was a little excited at the chance to go back.
She texted Jason immediately
[To Jason:]
[I’m home.]
She then took a nice long shower while she waited for Jason to come home.
A little while, as she was drying her hair, Jason came into the bedroom and saw her in the en suite. She was stark naked and while he seemed a bit distracted, there was a look on his face she wasn’t all that familiar to her. She watched through the mirror and just knew something was up. She waited a minute before grabbing her silk robe and tying it loosely, by this point, he would have had her on the bed. She turned to him and cocked her head, her natural curls falling in front of her face. “ Jason? What’s up?” She asked him and he took a breath before he began. She listened to him and the more he went on the more pissed off she became by the time he finished, her arms were crossed, her nostrils flaring, foot tapping lightly against the floor with her jaw set. “Those sons of bitches.” She muttered under her breath. She was conflicted instantly, they threw Nicky into it. How could Jason say no to that, she couldn’t even get mad at him for considering this. However, Jason was supposed to be finished with this. Their life was perfect now. They had three amazing children, Jason had a respectable job that he loved, she was at a job she loved. They were done with this life. All the shit they went through, they DESERVED to be done with this shit. She couldn’t think of anything to say. She just walked past him and walked over to the bed sat down with her back towards him and grabbed her hair brush and began violently brushing out her hair. Jason walked over, saying her name. She was oddly quiet and continued brushing as if she were about to tear her hair from her scalp. She was pissed and had no one to take it out on. Jason took her hand stopping her self destructive hair brushing and turned her to him only to find tears in her eyes. “We were supposed to be done.” She said whimpering some. “We were out. Safe.” She said, her chest rising and falling, shakily. “It’s not fair, it just keeps following us, it’s like a fucking black hole and no matter how hard we try it sucks is right back in!” She said and clenching her fists.
Jason took a deep breath, then started. "An old friend came and saw me today...Agent Sears from the FBI. He had an offer for me, he wants me to go back to the club, take over again as Pres. Guess his new task force is trying to get something on this international crime ring, they want to use the club to make connections with them, and get info and evidence that way." Jason said as he sat down. "They must not have a lot of options, they're giving me everything. They'll cover the cost of moving the club to Oregon, that way I don't gotta worry about the three strike law anymore. They'll also wipe me from any investigations into my past...altercations. Any investigation would have me clear of it. They also told me that whatever happened while I was working with them, I'd have a get out of jail free card, so I wouldn't have to worry about going away" he could tell Lolly was waiting for him to finish so she could snap on him, "and....if I agree...they'll let Nicky out of prison" Jason said looking at Lolly. He could tell how conflicted she was. He watched as his wife started combing her hair violently, he sat down beside her grabbing her hand before she ripped her hair out of her head. He listened to her, he knew she was right, and had it not been for Nicky, he'd never have thought about it. "If you say no...I'll tell Sears no, you've put up with so much, I'd never make this call without your approval" Jason whispered, kissing her neck.
and than what if once everything was said and done, Jason wanted to stay...
She couldn’t think about this now. It was next to impossible, she was too raw. “ I can’t...I can’t answer you right now.” She whispered, her voice uncharacteristically soft. “ I can’t...”
Lolly eventually came down, he could tell she was still thinking about things. She sat down at the table across from Jason, they were both quiet for awhile. "If we decide to do this...it won't be permanent. We do it as long as the FBI needs, and then I'm out again...but this time Nicky is free as well" he could tell Lolly was still processing things, "and if we go back, if we decide to do this...I will make sure the kids see me every night...and you see me every night. And I promise...I'll keep you in the loop, I won't lock you out this time" Jason said looking at her. Lolly questioned how he could promise all of that to her, "Listen...I didn't know what being a dad really was....now I do....and Elly, Rey, and Jack mean more to me than anything...I won't force them to miss out on that" Jason said. He was quiet for a bit, then it was Lolly's turn to let off steam, Jason just sat and listened, knowing this was coming, and that if this was going to happen, she needed to get this all out of her first.
She then walked down to the kitchen and sat across the table. No words, both of them waiting for the other to speak. Finally Jason spoke. "If we decide to do this...it won't be permanent. We do it as long as the FBI needs, and then I'm out again...but this time Nicky is free as well." He said and Lolly sighed. All of this ran through her mind as he continued on."and if we go back, if we decide to do this...I will make sure the kids see me every night...and you see me every night. And I promise...I'll keep you in the loop, I won't lock you out this time." He said and Lolly sighed. He'd listed all of her fears, promised her she'd wouldn't have to worry about them but it did nothing to stop the growing fear that they'd never be free from this. "How...How Jason, How can you promise me all that when we've been down this road as kids. I don't want the kids to go through that." She said. "Listen...I didn't know what being a dad really was....Now I do... and Elly, Rey, and Jack mean more to me than anything....I won't them to miss out of that." Jason said and was quiet. "See that's the thing, I believe you mean what you are saying to me but that's now. What happens when you fall back into it again? You could lose yourself in the club and I can't go through that again." She said and reached across the table and took his hand. "I want to believe things can go back to this but...it took you going in to realize how bad things were. How long will it take once your back in and President again? Baby, I know how much you loved it. Hell, you literally were breed for it so I don't see you wanting to give it up for a third time." She said and gripped his hands. "I just don't know....I mean I want Nicky out just as bad as you do, I don't know if you can really keep all of those promises to me. I don't know that you can."
"I get everything you said baby...I grew up in the same life you did. And if the offer was anything else I'd turn it down in a heart beat, there is nothing no fed could offer me that is better than what I got with you and the kids." Jason paused, "But if we say no...Nicky is going to celebrate his 52nd birthday before his first parole hearing. If he gets parole on his first try, he'll be out in time to help Elly celebrate turning 33 years old. If we say yes to this, Nicky comes out now. There's no threat of jail time for me. Jetta's ghost still hangs around Elly every day, Nicky was as much a parent to her as I was or Jetta. I know you love Elly, and I do too, but you know, as much as she loves me, and loves you...she still shares us with Rey. With Nicky out...she at least has one parent she knows is hers. I can't promise how this all turns out baby...but choosing this, can we really be happy knowing we chose to be happy and let Nicky sit in prison...when we had a chance to get him out. I'm not trying to guilt trip you baby...but think about it, after everything Nicky's done for us, I don't know if I could enjoy all this knowing I chose it over the freedom of my brother. And I know you got the same thing running through your mind too" Jason said clutching Lolly's hands.
That was the one thing she hadn't considered.
Elly.
If she could have Nicky back...
"I know you love Elly, and I do too, but you know, as much s she loves me and loves you...she still shares us with Rey. With Nicky out...she at least has one parents she knows is hers. I can't promise how this all turns out baby...but choosing this, can we really be happy knowing we chose to be happy and let Nicky sit in prison...when we had a chance to get him out. I'm not trying to guilt trip you baby...but think about it, after everything Nicky's done for us. I don't know if I could enjoy all of this knowing I chose it over the freedom of my brother. And I know you got the same thing running through your mind too." He said clutching her hands. Lolly looked down. She closed her eyes as tears squeezed through the slits and rolled down her cheek. She replayed the last conversation she had with Nicky over in her head and she told him she wished there was something they could do and here it was. But at the price of her happiness. She looked up at Jason, through glossy brown eyes and sighed shakily. "Oh-" She stopped, she wasn't sure if she could say it, if she said yes, then it was real and her home quiet life was over and she'd been back watching her husband walk out that door with the Skull Knight on his back again, the very thing that symbolized all the pain and suffering of her entire life. "Well..." She started. "It was a good three years..." She said, before standing up.
While 'yes' never came out of her mouth, it didn't have to. Jason knew that was a yes, as bitter as it was. She couldn't be happy with this but the fact is, Nicky would be out, Jason would be cleared and Elly would have someone to call her own. Would it be worth it? Who knows.
She walked into the bedroom and climbed into bed, sobbing into her pillow.
It was too good to be true. Of course it was. Anything else would have been too much like right...
Jason knew Lolly would never voluntarily leave him, but for the kids, maybe she would consider it, he wasn't entirely certain he knew how she'd react. The sudden blow to his head wasn't one he was prepared for. Lolly suddenly over her tears started laying into Jason, asking how he could think she'd be okay without him around. She continued her rant, saying how she'd follow him anywhere, how insulted she was that he'd think she'd be okay with an arrangement like that. It had been pretty much three years or more since the last time Lolly had really gone off on him...maybe suburban life had dulled his senses a bit as she got off a few good shots before he was able to protect himself. Jason let Lolly get it all out of her, she was ontop of him by now and trying to hit him, he knew part of it was her anger at his idea, but the other piece of it was her getting her frustrations and everything out and he had given her a target.
Finally he'd spent enough time being a punching bag, he grabbed Lolly, and flipped her over, pinning her to the bed. She struggled under him a bit, before they were kissing each other again. In no time her robe was gone as was his shirt and jeans. As Lolly's legs wrapped around him Jason realized they hadn't had an exchange like this for awhile, sure they'd have their wild nights of making love, but these moments only happened during major fights, something they hadn't really had in the three years in Malibu. Maybe this was their way of getting back into the life again.
Lolly lay in Jason's arms when it was over. Lolly made a comment about having just cleaned the room up from that morning. "Listen...what I said...I just thought..." Lolly silenced him right away. "You know...I know you hate the idea, but we've lived that life before and we were happy. Maybe not like here, but we made it work...me and you...we always make it work. Plus...you can't tell me you haven't missed Joey, I saw the way you two were when we met up with them in Sturgis last year for the bike rally, it was like two teenage girls gossiping about shopping and all sorts of shit...of course...Joey still could pull off the teenager look, you look more like her mom or something" Jason said, laughing as he got an elbow to the ribs. He turned Lolly to face him, "Listen baby...when it comes to club stuff, I always knew if I had Nicky beside me, everything would work out. When it comes to life...if I got you beside me...I know everything is going to work out" He said as he kissed her. He listened to her go on, he grinned, he knew she had to vocalize things out loud for herself more than anything, he wondered what it must sound like in that head of hers sometimes, chuckling at the thought. When she was done Jason grinned, "Now comes the hard part" he said, Lolly looked at him confused, "we gotta tell my mom" Jason said with a laugh that got a smirk out of Lolly as she commented about how screwed he was. "Well...speaking of me being fucked..." Jason said with a grin as he pulled her back ontop of him, and thus began round three.
After a while, Lolly had calm down, laying on her back with Jason beside her. Sex with him always seemed to have a doping effect on her. "I just cleaned this damned room..." She commented.
"Listen...what I said...I just thought-"
"Don't. Jason... or I will..." She said cutting him off. "You know...I know you hate the idea, but we've lived that life before and we were happy. Maybe not like here, but we made it work...me and you...we always make it work." Jason said and Lolly looked up at him. When did he get so sentimental? It was probably the sweetest thing he's ever said to her. Honestly, he probably should have lead with that, it would have avoided a considerable amount of smacking. "Plus," He added. "You can't tell me you haven't missed Joey. I saw the way you two were when we met up with them in Sturgis last year for the bike rally, it was like two teenage girls gossiping about shopping and all sorts of shit...of course...Joey still could pull off the teenager look, you look more like her mom or something." He said only to receive an elbow. "Older sister maybe..." She said, 'There goes the sentiment.' She thought. Honestly, she hadn't aged much at all, believe it or not, she hadn't seen a single grey hair, despite it all.
Jason then turned her to him and she watched his eye. "Listen baby...when it comes to club stuff, I always knew if I had Nicky beside me, everything would work out. When it comes to life...if I got you beside me...I know everything is going to work out." He said before kissing her gently. 'And now it's back.' Now THAT was the sweetest thing he'd ever said to her.
She sat up on her elbow and looked him in the eyes. "Well, Jason Walker, you better keep your promise to me. All of them, because I'm gonna hold you to them. Every word. We better see you ever night, All of us. I don't like sleeping alone, and besides It's cold in Oregon." She said and pretty much accepted their fate.
"Now comes the hard part." He sad and Lolly cocked her head confused. After the hell he caught just now what could be worse?
"Huh?"
"We gotta tell my mom." He said with a laugh and Lolly shook her head with a grin. She whistled. "Baby, You are so fucked."She said giggling. "Well...speaking of me being fucked..." With that he pulled her ontop of him and with a moan they were at it once again.
A few hours later, It was time to pick up the kids which meant telling Nickie. Both of them felt as like kids again, as if they just broke something and now was time to fess up. Lolly hadn't been so nervous in her life. Well that's not true. "I'll go with you, but I ain't sayin' shit, You're gonna have to explain all this to her. I mean, I'll back you up but honestly, I don't see either of us coming out of this alive." She said and was only half joking as they pulled up to the house.
Jason already had a somewhat defeated look on his face. There was only one person in the world -not even Lolly- that could put the fear of God in Jason's eyes the way his mother could. It was like a superpower. As they hopped off the bike and approached the door. Lolly looked at Jason. "Ready?"
Deacon asked what was up. "Well...I don't know where to start really. The FBI came by the shop today to talk with me. They have some investigation into some major international crime ring and they want my help, apparently these guys are pretty well insulated, so they're having trouble getting people near the key players. They want me to go back to the club, then use the club to partner with the crime ring, and then use that network to get information on their activities and give it to the feds for evidence" Jason said laying out the offer. Deacon was the first to reply, "Why are we even talking about this, the feds gave you an offer to become a rat for them...what's to consider?" Deacon said. "They offered to wipe out Nicky's sentence" Jason said, which gave Deacon some pause. "Jay...you can't trust these guys. You're an outlaw biker to them and you'll always be an outlaw biker, so maybe you help them shut down some crime ring, and then they turn around and throw you in the slammer as well" Deacon said. "They're offering amnesty of any charges I incur in the course of helping them in the investigation" Jason replied, Deacon shook his head. "Are you fucking stupid...living in Malibu has made you as dumb as these rich guys hasn't it? That deal isn't worth the fucking paper it's written on and you know it. What stops them from ripping it up...then what? The word of Jason Walker, outlaw biker versus the FBI, I wonder who the fuck is going to win that one?" Deacon countered. "You think I'm that stupid, I'd let some fed rope me in like that?" Jason snapped back, "No..not back then, but now...maybe. Think about son, you're not making sense...all for what...to get Nicky out? If you told him you had the option of getting him out and being a rat, or keeping him inside for another 20 years...what would he tell you to do?" Deacon said. "I'm not a fucking rat...I ain't giving them anything on us" Jason snapped back, "You're working for the feds...you're a rat...period" Deacon snapped back. "Yeah well Merc's in over his head and if I don't go back he may just end up jeopardizing the entire club!" Jason snapped.
Jason saw Lolly's head snap towards him "Fuck" he thought to himself. In truth, Jason had been talking with guys from the club for awhile, he'd been having guys asking him to come back and take over the club, saying Merc was in over his head and stuff. Jason hadn't really thought about going back, but this offer from the feds gave him a way back in. His plan had been getting Nicky out, cleaning things up, then turning the club over to Nicky and getting out again. However he also knew he hadn't told Lollly any of that, and his comment had just busted him.
Lolly asked him how he knew that. Her voice was calm but he knew the look in her eyes "good thing we're around witnesses" he thought. "Okay...I've actually been in touch with the club for awhile now...like the last nine months or so" Jason said quietly. There was a pause, this time Jason was ready and managed to dodge Lolly's flying fist, but not the second one that found it's mark across his head as she screamed at him. "I'll go make sure the kids are out of ear shot" Nickie said, getting up and quickly leaving the room to make sure the kids stayed clear. Deacon was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and stay out of it. Lolly ranted at him that he was a liar, calling him every name in the book while she was at it, even throwing some spanish in the mix. "LISTEN!" Jason's voice boomed through the room, as mad as she was, Jason had the voice that could pause anyone. "I never planned on going back...not at first. It was just guys worried about Merc leading the club and stuff. But lately, things seem a bit shakier, he's letting outside guys influence club decisions and stuff. I never thought about going back UNTIL the feds put Nicky on the table. I don't want to go back for good...I was thinking I go back...SCREW THE FEDS OVER..." he said glaring at his dad "then when things are all setup good to go again...I leave AGAIN...and turn the club over to Nicky and let HIM run the club" Jason wondered if Lolly's eyes really could burn through him cause she seemed to be trying. Lolly stormed out, he was glad they were at his parents, he knew Lolly had too much respect for Nickie than to ruin any of her vases or plant pots by smashing them on Jason's head. "Why don't we babysit a bit longer" Deacon said with a smirk, Jason nodded.
Jason had a project bike he'd built that he left at his dad's place, his plan was to give it to Jack when he was old enough to ride it. He hopped on and drove around Malibu for a little while, he was giving Lolly some time to work things out in her head, it didn't mean she wouldn't be mad when he got back, he was fully prepared for that, but gave things a chance to simmer down a bit.
Jason eventually headed home, he walked into the studio room he'd built for Lolly, she had the music blaring and was dancing, one of her methods of venting...when she didn't have Jason around to beat on. Jason just stood against the doorway watching her, even with everything going on he was still captivated watching the way her body could move. He figured he'd wait until she noticed him, interrupting her dancing would just make a bad situation worse.
As this ran though her mind, Jason's comment shocked her from her thoughts and her head whipped around to him.
"How... do you know that?" She asked. Her voice too calm, while her eyes were narrowed.
"Okay...I've actually been in touch with the club for a while now...atleast nine monthes or so" He said and something in Lolly's head snapped as she sent her fist in the direction of his head. The first missed but the second didn't.
"Liar!" She screamed as Nickie ran off, she couldn't hear a thing she said. "Usted es un puto es meriendo!" She screamed at him. "Everything you said was a lie! Yo hijo de puta!" She said. Honestly all of this hurt. It was almost as if he'd cheated on her, that's how betrayed she felt.
"LISTEN!"Jason boomed and it was only because she knew she'd dodge her next blows that she stopped.
"I never planned on going back...not at first." He said and Lolly was breathing hard through her nose, eying his jaw as her next target. "It was just guys worried about leading the club and stuff. But Lately, things have been a bit shakier, he's been letting outside guys influence club decisions and stuff. I never thought about going back UNTIL the feds put Nicky on the table. I don't want to go back for good...I was thinking I go back...SCREW THe FEDS OVER...then when things are all setup good to go again...I leave AGAIN...and turn the club over to Nicky and let HIM run the club." He said and Lolly glared at him. He was safe enough away that all she could was throw something at him and as pissed as she was. Nickie would kill her for busting up one of her vases over his head. Without another word, she walked out, bursting through the front door, luckily the kids were in the back.
As she walked out, she noticed his bike and thought about kicking the shit out of his bike, as she stared at it hard. He truly hurt her and she knew it would hurt him to do that but then no. She wouldn't. Instead she walked passed it and walked home. The walk was a long one and if they were back in their old neighborhood, it would have been a bad idea to walk around however, they were more afraid of the angry Afro-Latina then she ever could or would be of them.
By the time she got home, the walk had successfully cleared her head. She was still irrevocably pissed but she wasn't thinking about killing her husband anymore. At least not literally. She made a bee line to the dance studio Jason had built for her. It was a lovely birthday present, probably the best one she'd ever received as her birthdays routinely sucked. She kicked off her boots and slipped on her activewear shoes. She cranked up the music and began to dance. Her body moved to the music Her hips, ligiud with every turn and sway. This always helped her clear her head. She could control every move she made and wasn't at the mercy of anyone. Here no one could tell her what's right or wrong, which way to go. Here she was free.
A little while later, as she was in a mid spin, she noticed a blonde blur in her vision. She stopped, and turned to see Jason watching her. She just watched him for a moment. She'd cooled down considerably but now she was just hurt. She grabbed a towel and wiped her face but didn't say a word until he spoke her name. "Don't." She said quickly. "You know you could have told me you wanted to go back." She said taking a seat in a chair. Jason said he never wanted to. "Maybe not consciously..." She retorted. "Somewhere in the back of your mind you missed it, that's why it was so easy for you to accept this." She said. He mentioned Nicky was on the table and he wanted him out. "Yes. I know that, but all that was, was something for you to fall back on. An excuse " She said and Jason looked angry, saying something about her wanting Nicky out too. "I do." She said calmly unphased by his rising anger. "but even still, I didn't want to give OUR happiness for him and he wouldn't want us too." She said. She told him bits about the conversation she had with Nicky that night, she left out the part where he spoke about their relationship, however she did tell him that much, about how Nicky felt he shouldn' have called. It seemed to hit home for Jason a bit. He then told her about how he and Nicky were best friends, they grew up together. "and I grew up with the both of you but even then it was different." Jason looked confused then, "You were never a victim of this life, Jason..." She said and it was then Jason looked right into her blind eye. He understood her and she understood him. She walked up to him, and stood beside him. "But you know what, I get it now." She said softly with a hand on his shoulder, she placed a small kiss on his shoulder. She didn't want to fight anymore. "Just keep your promises." She whispered. " and we'll be fine." she said walked to their bedroom.
As sure as he was that he wanted to do this, Lolly's words stuck with him. He remembered seeing her after the Russians had their way with her, and while he could say anything he wanted, he knew that going back brought with it the risk that something might happen to Lolly...or even the kids. Here she was safe, nobody was going to be hunting her down or using her to get to Jason. Jason walked into their room behind Lolly, seeing her changing, admiring his wife's body again. "I know the lifestyle...where just being with me puts you at risk" he said quietly kissing her neck. "I have no right to ask you to do it, but I do, and you do it willingly...just...know that I don't take that lightly" he said kissing her again. "I know it seems like the club...that lifestyle means more to me than you sometimes. But...I've lived three years without the club, and been perfectly happy. I lived one month without you and it nearly destroyed me....never mind three years. He turned Lolly to look at him, "the club will always be one of the biggest things in my life...but...you are my life baby" he said as she hugged him. "This is why we need to leave...three years in suburbia and now I'm talking about my feelings and shit...fuck" Jason said with a smirk as Lolly laughed, commenting on it. They lay silently on the bed together, Jason then leaned over and kissed Lolly on her blind eye as he held her. "We'll all be fine" he whispered to her, repeating her line to him.
After a silent moment, Jason leaned over and placed a kiss to her blind eye. "We'll all be fine." He said echoing her words. "I know we will..." She said softly. "I know."
~The Next Day~
The kids finally returned home and it was their turn to learn about the move. Lolly and Jason decided to tell the girl separately. Lolly would tell Elly as they've grown incredibly close as Elly reached her teenage years. Elly told her everything, the boys she liked, -that information was kept from her father- girls she didn't, and everything in between. While Mireya was always a Daddy's girl and still too young for certain conversation. Lolly and Jason both knew, Jason got the short end of the stick.
Mireya was unpacking her clothes from the extending stay at Nana's, she had her headphones on and danced about her bedroom as she put her stuff up. "if ya wanna be my lover, ya gotta get with my friends." She sang, completely unaware of her father watching her, not that she cared. She wasn't shy about anything really.
As she turned to hang up her clothes. She saw her father, he spooked her a little but she just giggled. "Oh, hi Daddy." chirped the twelve year old, as she paused the song. He was smiling some as he entered the room, she hugged him around the waist, she pulled back when he said he needed to tell her something. She smiled. "Okay," She said and plopped on the bed. He took a seat in a wicker chair beside her bed. "So Whatcha wanna tell me?" She asked eagerly, crossing her legs, before he could answer, she got a few ideas in her head. "Ooo, Is Momma pregnant? Is It a girl. Am I gonna have a baby sister?" She asked all in one breath. Jason chuckled some telling her that wasn't it. Mireya looked a little disappointed. Jason then told her what was going on. Mireya blinked when he was finished. "Wait? What?" She said cocking her hair, her soft curly brown hair falling to the side some. "Why Oregon?" she asked and he told her he had work to do there. "But what about the bike shop with Pop Pop?" She asked, referring to Deacon. He explained that too. Mireya began to get ansty and Jason saw what was happening. She was prone to anxiety attacks, they believed it was due to her ADHD, they couldn't really be sure all that mattered now was that one was on it's way. "Daddy, I don't wanna move." She said, fiddling with the blankets, "I mean, what about Nana and Pop Pop? My friends? I've got softball, and archery? Regionals are coming up." She said, as she crossed and uncrossed her legs. "It's not fair." She said and Jason tried to calm her down before the attack actually happened, usually he could, most times it was only he, that could but, right now he wasn't so sure. He told her to breath and told her it wasn't going to be permanent. "I don't wanna leave at all." She said, her brow creased in a sad frown, as frustration grew within her. "I don't wanna go." She cried and then her breathing picked up.
With that, Jason scooped her up, and took her outside for some air, she clung to him tightly shaking as a panic attack took over, as she begin to hyperventilate as well. Lolly and Elly came out of Elly's room when they heard the commotion. Jason gave Lolly a knowing look before disappearing outside.
Elly apparently, took it well but that was no surprise. Mireya not so much but Mireya was always more sociable, Elly was more to herself, she wasn't too worried about friends and things like that. So long as Oregon had good books and she had an Ipod, she was set.
Mireya calmed down as the panic attack subsided, He held her as she began twisting a strain of her father's blonde locks as he rocked her some to keep her calm, reminding her to breath through it. "Will it be like before?" She asked and Jason was sightly taken aback by that. He asked her what she meant. "Like before, when Nicky was here. You went away for a really long time...will it be like that?" She asked softly, she remembered bits of that. Of course she didn't know the details but she knew enough that she didn't want it to happen again. He reassured her, making the same promises he made to her mother and that placated her. Still holding her in his arms, he took her back inside and into her room.
He walked to Rey's room to tell her, and watched her dancing around the room listening to her headphones. Jason couldn't get over how much she reminded him of Lolly when she was a kid. Finally Rey turned and saw him, he told her they needed to talk. As they sat down Rey guessed that Lolly was pregnant, "no that's not it sweetie" he said chuckling. "We're going to be moving in a little bit, I'm going to go back to work for the bike club again, kinda like before when we were in Texas. It's not going to be forever though, just a little while, and we're not going far either, we're moving to Oregon so Nana and Pop Pop can still come visit a lot while we're out there" Jason said. "Wait? What?" She said cocking her hair, her soft curly brown hair falling to the side some, Jason couldn't help but notice it was almost identical to Lolly, the way she cocked her head to the side. "Why Oregon?" she asked. "Because, I got some work there with the club" he said to her. She asked about Deacon and the shop, which he also explained. She started to fidget and get antsy and he could tell she had a panic attack coming on. Jason tried calming her down as she continued on, saying how she didn't want to move. "Come on sweetie, just breath okay, you're going to have an attack soon if you're not careful" he whispered, stroking her hair which was one of the sure-fire ways to calm her down. But her breathing kept escalating and finally Jason could tell she was on the verge of an attack.
"Come here baby" he said as he picked her up and she clung to him tightly. Elly and Lolly wandered into the room as Jason carried Mireya, he gave Lolly a look as he carried her. Mireya had always gone to Jason when she needed calming. They walked onto their upstairs patio deck, Jason sat down holding Mireya, "just breathe baby" he whispered as he kissed her cheek and stroked her hair to calm her. As the attack subsided she just lay with Jason, playing with his hair, which was part of her usual process when coming off an attack. Jason kept reminding her "just keep breathing sweetie" he said. Finally Mireya said "Will it be like before?", Jason was shocked. The last time Jason was active in the club Mireya wasn't much older than Jack was now. "What do you mean baby?" he asked her. "Like before, when Nicky was here. You went away for a really long time...will it be like that?" she asked him. "No, it's going to be different. Daddy is going to be around a lot more often, and I won't be going away for a long time again anymore either" he said kissing her cheek as she eventually calmed down.
They told Jack as well, but he was more concerned with his toy motor-bikes than anything else, of course being 3 that wasn't a surprise. However he was getting old enough to pick up on some stuff, so they had decided to tell him anyway just to avoid a possible issue down the road. In all likelyhood they realized the next morning when they woke up he'd probably have completely forgotten.
Later, when they kids were all busy, Jason and Lolly sat down to discuss how they would all do this. Jason and Lolly had agreed to this, but he still had to talk with the FBI one more time, and then of course there was the whole fact that the club still had no clue he was thinking about coming back.
"So I don't want to cart the kids all over the map. I'm thinking I go down to Texas, get things setup there, then get the vote in to transfer the club to Oregon. With me back, and Nicky, I'll use the three-strikes law, and seeing as a lot of guys don't want to see Merc at the head of the table again, they'll back that move 100%. Then when we make the move, I'll pick you and the kids up" Jason said explaining his plan. However Lolly threw a wrench into his plans, saying she wasn't going to let him go alone. "Baby, we're not going to be in Texas long, it's hard enough on the kids moving down there, but then to pack up and move back up to Oregon...it's way too much", Lolly insisted she was coming with him, saying the kids could spend some quality time with Nickie and Deacon before the move, she also pointed out people might ask questions if Jason was back without Lolly, knowing that the two of them didn't really do much seperate from each other. "Okay...you're coming" Jason said as Lolly gave him a grin, she always relished winning arguements with him, almost as much as he did with her. "I'll go talk with Sears tomorrow and get everything set" he said.
As Jason went to talk to Sears that next day, Lolly just finished Baby Jack. He looked alot like Mireya, same warm brown skin, same dark hair and their father's eyes. Although, he had more lf his father's features, or he would once the baby fat went away. She tickled his little tummy and he giggled and squealed. " We're all done, little man." She told him, lifting him off the changing table. He was heavier then he looked, much like his father, he was pretty muscular. He was gonna be tall one day, she just knew it. Just like his dad. "You know little boy, you are getting too heavy." She said and Jack looked a little confused. "No heavy," He said. "No heavy? You're not heavy." She said with a laugh. "Mm-mm." He said shaking his head. "Okay, you're not heavy." She laughed. The little boy didn't know many words, well,he did, he just couldn't speak them. Much like with Mireya, she put him on the 'You're baby can Read' videos and flashcards, so he was getting there. It was much easier with him then it was with Rey. Mainly because it seemed, Jack didn't have ADHD, she was perfectly healed by the time he was born. Mireya not so much, given the vicious beating she took, hopefully, the only adverse effects of that would be the ADHD and the anxiety disoder.
A little while later, Jack was sleeping on her chest as she laying sleeping in the rocking chair beside his crib. She woke up when Jason tapped her on the shoulder. "Oh hey." She said, with a whisper. "How it go." She asked but he told her he'd tell her, she looked uncomfortable and that's why he woke her. "No no, I'm fine, How'd it go." She said softly, and gently got up and lay Jack in his crib, he only stirred a bit.
"So, I'm assuming you asked for this lunch date because you have an answer for me?" Sears asked as he sat across the table from Jason. "Yeah...I do. But before we shake on it, you got what I asked for?" Jason said. Sears nodded, he knew working with Jason was going to be tricky, the day before on the phone Jason had requested official documentation of everything Sears had promised, and he had asked for it to be signed, not just by Sears, but also by the FBI director himself, as well as being noterized by a federal judge, and he demanded original copies for himself personally. It was a tough call for Sears, Jason wasn't buying Sears deal on good faith alone, and these documents would make it impossible for Sears to go back on anything. It wasn't that he was trying to set Walker up, in reality he admired Walker for being able to get out of the lifestyle. However he knew how hard that lifestyle is to leave behind, and by sending Walker back in, armed with a golden get out of jail free card, Sears was in a tough spot. The whole idea was for Jason to get out once the investigation was done, but there was nothing Sears could do to guarantee that. He couldn't put an expiration date on the deal, as they had no idea how long the investigation would take. The thought that worried him was who he was giving these documents too, a former outlaw who was trying to help the government wipe out a crime ring, or somebody who was looking to get back into the outlaw lifestyle. But he knew that nothing happened without the documents, if they wanted to shutdown the GCS there was no other way. "Yeah, I got them right here, signed and sealed just as you asked" Sears said, sliding the copies over to Jason who looked them over carefully, paying attention to the specific wording and any potential fine print.
"Okay it all looks good. Now here's the deal...Nicky can't just magically get out of jail, there will be too many questions" Jason said. Sears nodded "We've talked to the US Attorney's office, they're going to re-open Mr.Rhodes case, citing inconsistencies in reporting and the investigation overall. That should give your lawyers all the leverage they need to press for Mr.Rhodes conditional release" Sears said. "You said he was out free and clear" Jason countered. Sears chuckled "He IS out free and clear, but like you just said...he can't just walk out of prison. Eventually the US Attorney's office will declare that they're dropping all the charges, and Mr.Rhodes will be remanded to time already served...out...free and clear, it's all in the documentation" Sears said, Jason nodded as he looked it over. "And that conditional release will allow him to leave Texas?" Jason asked. "If he has an employment opprotunity in Oregon he will. We can arrange that, once he has the job offer, that will be enough for the DA's office to grant him permission to leave for Oregon." Sears said. "Alright, then I'll be heading down south soon to hook back up with the club, I'll call you when we're ready for the transfer" Jason said. He took the documents, shook hands with Sears and the two of them finished their meal and left.
When Jason got back he found Lolly sleeping with Jack. He tapped her to wake her up, she asked how it went, "I'll tell ya later, just looked like you were comfortable" he whispered, she told him he was fine and asked again. "It went good, everyting is set with Sears, now I just gotta let the boys I'm coming down for a visit, then we can be on our way" Jason said kissing her. Seeing Jack sleep Jason slipped down to the floor, "you like playing with fire" he said quietly..."don't wake the baby" he whispered as he pulled her sweat pants down, he loved the fact that he could still shock Lolly after all these years. She couldn't even protest for fear of waking Jack up. People sometimes complained about things being boring after marriage, but evidently Lolly and Jason didn't follow suit. Jason had to laugh to himself as he watched Lolly try to contain herself and keep herself quiet as he went to work.
After Jason's game, he went out and started making calls to arrange things. Lolly came out after putting Jack down to sleep. "You look a little rattled" Jason said taunting her, she grabbed his shirt glaring at him then whispered something into his ear which just made him grin more before she walked off, Lolly said she was going to take Mireya to the store, whispering to him again before they left. Nickie had come over just after Lolly left, she said she was getting fed up helping Deacon with the yard work. "What is up with that guy? Retirement has changed him" Jason said laughing. He then asked if Nickie could watch Jack, he then went to Elly's room.
"Hey...whatcha reading?" he asked as she was curled up in the corner of her bed reading. She told him the book, "Cool...hey...do you know of anyone who'd want to go on a bike ride with me?" Jason asked with a smirk. He saw the grin spread across Elly's face. She was really quiet and shy, but her and Rey both couldn't resist having their dad take them out for a ride on his big bike. He walked with her, helping her onto the bike and putting her helmet on her. He put his on then fired up the bike, he grinned watching Elly, her and Rey were different. Rey loved to go fast, she didn't care about anything else, just going fast. Elly seemed to get a kick out of the engine roar, she also wasn't fond of going very fast, but loved it when her dad revved the motor while she was on the bike. Jason got on as Elly gripped his waist tight, the girls were too big to ride in front of him anymore. Jason revved the engine a few times, producing a giggle out of Elly before he took off down the street. They rode for awhile all over before stopping near a beach. They got off and walked and sat down by a tree watching the waves crashing in on the shore. Rey would never have been able to handle it, but Elly loved stuff like this. Jason held her as they sat together, even at her age Elly didn't mind her dad holding her from time to time. After awhile she began talking softly, this was kinda of their routine. Where Mireya would talk anytime or anywhere, Elly was a lot more shy, but when they'd have these quiet moments together she'd open up to him, not quite the way she did with Lolly, but that was just girl stuff. But there was another reason he had taken her on this trip. "So tomorrow's the day right?" he said quietly, he watched as his daughter just nodded. The next day marked the anniversary of Jetta's accident. Jason just sat there with Elly for awhile before she started talking again, he just listened as she talked about Jetta, "Yeah...your mom was a special woman" Jason said. Jason was used to the script, she'd sometimes talk about how mad she was, how unfair it was that Jetta died, all sorts of stuff, but today she blindsided him. Jason sat there thinking he knew what was coming next when Elly looked up at him and asked him why he stopped loving Jetta and loved Lolly instead. The man who had a response for any situation he ever ran into...was completely speechless. He was quiet himself as he tried to figure out how to respond to the question. "You are growing up way to fast little lady" he said with a grin as she just kept waiting for the answer. "You know...I guess it's time you heard the whole story" he said kissing her head. "Me and your mom were together a long time ago, and I loved your mom a lot. One day....I came home....and she was gone. She was still pregnant with you inside, and she felt like she needed to get away. There was a lot of bad stuff happening to a lot of people around the club. She left so that her baby...our baby...wouldn't get hurt. And nobody really knew where she went, she was gone for awhile until she finally came back, and when she did, she had this tiny little baby girl with her" Jason said kissing Elly again.
Elly then looked up and asked why they didn't get back together then. "You're going to turn into a lawyer aren't you?" Jason chuckled as his daughter continued her cross-examination. "Well...it was a long time your mom was gone...she didn't ever call, or write...I thought she had left me. Me and Lolly were always close, and fell in love with each other during that time. By the time your mom came back, me and Lolly were together, it was a little awkward at first. But you know...I think me and your mom got a long better as friends than we did when we were together. But for the record, I never stopped loving your mom...it was just different that's all" Jason said. The questions bringing back a lot of old memories. Elly asked why he couldn't just have both, Lolly and Jetta, like he did with Mireya and Elly. Jason laughed, as he had visions of the one wild night that he spent together with both Lolly and Jetta, that was definitely not a kid-appropriate memory to share he thought to himself with a chuckle. "Because it just doesn't work that way sweetie" he said. He saw Elly pick up a rock and throw it at a tree, she then punched the ground, getting upset, she said she wanted to break something but nothing was big enough. "You want to do something to get your anger out huh?" he asked as she nodded. "I'm probably a horrible parent for doing this...but grab your helmet" he said picking her up they headed to the bike. Awhile later Jason's bike roared into an abadoned gravel pit, he'd found it one time driving around. There was an old office, windows and stuff still intact. Elly asked what they were doing here. Jason reached down to his boot and pulled out a small 9mm hand gun, even in Malibu he still carried a weapon, maybe force of habit. "There's 14 shots in it...and I got another clip if you need it" Jason said handing the gun to Elly. He stood behind her, telling her how to hold it properly, how to aim properly etc. "Now...when you're ready....just pull" Jason said. Elly pulled once, she flinched at the sound, but her eyes widened when she saw a window shatter into tiny pieces. She quickly fired off the remaining rounds as Jason helped her aim. Jason loaded another clip into the gun and Elly repeated the process, he could tell by the look on her face that this had helped her more than throwing rocks. "Okay...my only rule...you only do this with me or Lolly....and I better not EVER catch you with a gun like this by yourself...got it?" Jason asked, Elly nodded then grinned saying softly "you mean you and mom", Jason smiled "yeah...that's what I meant" he said giving her a hug. They rode back to the house by the time they got back Lolly had been back from the store.
As they walked in Elly ran and jumped giving Lolly a big hug and kiss before whispering something to her before disappearing to her room. Jason went to the office to finalize things for their trip down to Texas in a few days, he'd contacted the club and they were expecting him. As he was going over his map Lolly walked in, at first Jason figured she was just giving him a massage as he worked, till she mentioned something about teaching a 12 year old to shoot. Jason looked up, as Lolly started talking.
"You look a little rattled" Jason said after she came out of the Jack's bedroom. She set her jaw and grabbed him by the collar. "Just you wait, I am gonna fuck you up later." she told him and all he did was grin. She started to walk off. “ I mean it, Jason.” She warned with a whisper before taking Mireya out shopping.
Elly was sitting reading in her bedroom when her dad walked in, Hey...Whatcha reading?”
“Catching Fire.” She said, today, she really wanted to be alone but she knew what he was doing.
"Cool...hey...do you know of anyone who'd want to go on a bike ride with me?" He asked with a grin and she smiled, closing her book. Once he helped her on, She wrapped her arms around his waist, enjoying the roar of the bike. He revved up a few times and she giggled before they rode off.
"So tomorrow's the day right?" he said quietly, and she nodded. Tomorrow, That was they day her mother and brother died. It still stung. Some days were worse then others. Usually around this time, she’d start calling Lolly, by her name instead of mom, like she had been. Lolly was legally her mother now . She’d adopted her officially about two years after her death. It was that day, that brought them closer. “I miss her still, I mean I love Lolly but...Mom…” "Yeah...your mom was a special woman" Jason said.
A Question had been on her mind for awhile and she didn’t want to upset Lolly by asking her but at the same time she really wanted to know. “Why weren’t you and mom together anymore? Didn’t you love her. I mean I know you love Lolly but you were with mom first.” She said, trying not to sound like she didn’t like Lolly. Her dad look stunned and she waited patiently for him to answer. "You are growing up way to fast little lady" he said with a grin and she stayed quiet. "You know...I guess it's time you heard the whole story" He said with a kiss to her forehead.
Elly then looked up “ Well, Why didn’t you get back together? She was back?” "You're going to turn into a lawyer aren't you?" Jason chuckled. “ Daddy?” She pressed. "Well...it was a long time your mom was gone...she didn't ever call, or write...I thought she had left me. Me and Lolly were always close, and fell in love with each other during that time. By the time your mom came back, me and Lolly were together, it was a little awkward at first. But you know...I think me and your mom got along better as friends than we did when we were together. But for the record, I never stopped loving your mom...it was just different that's all" Jason said. “Then...why couldn’t you have them both, You have me and Rey? Wouldn't it be the same? There are some families with two moms and a dad?” Jason laughed. "Because it just doesn't work that way sweetie" he said."It's not fair." She said and picked up a rock and chucked it as far as she could. He could have had them both, maybe she’d still be here if he did. “I want to break something.” "You want to do something to get your anger out huh?" he asked and she nodded. "I'm probably a horrible parent for doing this...but grab your helmet" he said picking her up they headed to the bike.
A bit later, They roared into an abandoned gravel pit. There was an old office, windows and stuff still intact. “What are we doing here, Daddy?” She asked looking around. He then reached down to his boot and pulled out a small gun, she frowned a bit. "There's 14 shots in it...and I got another clip if you need it"He said handing the gun to Elly. He stood behind her, telling her how to hold it properly, how to aim properly etc. "Now...when you're ready....just pull" Jason said. No sooner had he said that, did she pull the trigger, the blast was loud but the window shattered was satisfying. With that, She quickly fired off the remaining rounds as her father aimed the gun. He loaded another clip into the gun and she fired again and again. she felt so much better now. No one Lolly liked it so much. "Okay...my only rule...you only do this with me or Lolly....and I better not EVER catch you with a gun like this by yourself...got it?" Jason asked, Elly nodded then smiled. "you mean you and Mom", Jason smiled "yeah...that's what I meant" he said giving her a hug. They rode back to the house by the time they got back Lolly had been back from the store.
Elly took one look at Lolly and gave her a big hug and kiss before dragging her off to her bedroom. Lolly just followed suit with a smile.
Lolly took a seat on the bed as Elly went on about how Jason showed her how to use a gun. “ Oh he did did he?” she said. “It was so fun, Mom, I get why you love it.” She said happily and Lolly was taken aback. Elly never called her Mom, around this time and she was fine with that. Lolly just smiled. “ I wanna do it again.” She said and went on and on about it and Jason’s rules. “Okay, go get washed up for dinner okay.” She told her and Elly nodded before hugging her one more time.
Lolly walked out with a smile on her face, met up with Jason in his office. She slide her arms down his shoulders and he seemed to enjoy it as she leaned toward his ear. “ Why did you take my 13 year old, out shooting?” She whispered. Jason just knew he was in for it but he really wasn’t. She knew what the sort of release felt like, and she knew she needed it. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna kill you too much. She was really happy and she called me Mom, Can’t be mad at that, now can I?” She said and kissed his cheek. Jason kissed her back making a comment of his own and she just smiled.
He then told her that everything was set with the boys and her smile faded some. She wasn’t sure how she’d react to seeing him in his cut again but she give him the go ahead. “ I can’t believe we're doing this.” She said. “I mean we are actually going back.” Jason told her things would be different and she knew that, she trusted him but she didn’t trust everyone else. “ I know but still…”
He could feel Lolly's grip on his waist tighten a bit as they rode into Outlaw Creek, she knew they were back now and there wasn't really any turning around now. A few minutes later Jason pulled into the parking lot of the clubhouse. Jason and Lolly got off the bike, one of the Prospects walked up to them. "Hey listen...this is private property, you're going to have to leave" the guy said giving Jason a hard glare. Jason looked at Lolly "Okay...this is a new experience for me" he said with a grin. Jason turned back to the prospect, "Buddy...I built this thing, go ask somebody who's been around for longer than three years..." the Prospect, doing his job, stepped up into his face "Listen asshole, move it now unless you want trouble" he said in an intimdating tone. Of course Jason was playing with the guy. "Okay...okay...alright..." Jason said walking back to his bike, "Just tell em Roach came by and wanted to say hi" he said. The Prospect practically gasped, "holy shit...fuck....ohhhh man...no sorry...I...ohhh fuck....I didn't know Mr.Walker..." Jason just grinned as he patted the guy on the back "you were doing your job, I'll put in a good word for you. Just quit staring at my wife's ass" Jason said, as the guy turned bright red, that even got a smirk out of Lolly.
They walked in, the place looked the same as when they had left it. A lot of the members were still around as Jason walked in, the Prospect hadn't had a chance to announce that Jason was there yet. "So I'm gone three years and suddenly nobody gives a fuck anymore?" Jason said. At the sound of his voice the members inside all cheered as they rushed up to give him a hug and welcome him back. Jason heard a shriek as Joey came running from the back and practically tackled Lolly to the ground. Merc walked out and gave Jason a big hug, "Welcome back brother" Merc said giving him a hug.
Joey practically yanked Lolly behind her to the lounge area to talk and catch up. Merc showed Jason around, introducing him to the new members since he was gone. "This is Remmy, our VP" Merc said, as he shook Jason's hand and gave him a hug "Good to meet you man, you're a fucking legend" he said as Jason grinned. Jason had to admit, he did enjoy the feeling of being back in the clubhouse again. Of course the people were never the issue, it was the lifestyle that followed.
That night the clubhouse had a big party to welcome Jason and Lolly. Really the club would take almost any excuse to party, which really meant to drink and get drunk. But seeing Jason back, for the members that knew him, it was good to see. Joey stuck by Lolly most of the night, showing her around, introducing her to some of the other Ol' Ladies, specifically Maddie, she was the wife to the new VP of the club Remmy, and she definitely had an attitude about her. As the part went on, Samson, a long time member of the club and the guy Jason had been talking with the last few months made their way over to a side room.
"So...is what you said true...you're coming back?" Samson asked with a bit of excitement. "Yeah...providing I get back in" Jason said with a grin as Samson laughed, "but uh...how do we do this?" Samson asked. "Nobody can know about this until the vote, I need to be back in as a member first. After the club votes me back in, there's the open session at the end. That's when you bring up the member's challenge...cite your reasons...then nominate me to take over as the new President" Jason said explaining things. "No problem...Bobby Chains will second the nomination...and honestly brother...I don't think anyone will vote you down, not even Remmy" Samson said as Jason nodded. "So what's the issues anyway" Jason asked. "Well we got into drugs big time when you left. Some of the suppliers weren't comfortable with Merc when Nicky went inside and our gun sources dried up. The Dallas street gang, the Triple Kings made us an offer, it started out running protection for their drug runs. Then they got us into muelling their stuff all over Texas, they made a really bad deal with Merc too, we're taking all the risk on those runs yet we're only taking 10% of the cut. We started doing hits inside Dallas too for the Triple Kings, Lamar, the Triple Kings leader, he's got Merc as his errand boy. We're pretty much just hired muscle now for the Triple Kings, they tell us what to do and Merc jumps." Samson explained, frustrated. "Why does Merc keep playing to him? What's he got to have Merc coming back?" Jason asked. "He keeps Merc happy, getting him tickets to sporting games, kicking him and Joey personal gifts, pretty much they're using our club but they've sucked Merc in, he buys everything they tell him." Samson says getting upset. "What about Remmy? He's the VP, doesn't he say anything about this?" Jason asked. "He does...but Merc brought him in and Remmy doesn't want to lose his VP seat. He tries talking to Merc a bit, but Merc's changed a bit man, he doesn't listen to the new guys anymore. He figures cause he ran with you and your dad and Nicky, he ran with the legends man...so that means he knows better than all of us" Samson said, "Look...I love Merc, I do...and I hate to be doing this...but I love this club and he's turning us from what we used to be...to being a bunch of hired thugs" Samson said. Jason nodded "don't worry...everything will work out brother" Jason said as they returned to the party.
A little while later, There was a party in their honor. But honestly, it was just another excuse for one as it always had been.
It took a few drinks to loosen Lolly up but pretty soon she was able to meet and greet with all the other Ol' Ladies. Joey was glad to introduce Lolly to Maddy. A dark haired-grey eyed woman. She was pretty but she seemed not to like Lolly immediately. Lolly kept it cordial. "Hey, I'm Lola, Call me Lolly." she said and Maddy looked at her strangely before taking her hand. "So you're the one Joey's been going on about."
"The one and only." Lolly said as Joey was whisked off by her nice and drunk boyfriend. "You're Jason Walker's Girl right?" She asked her, the tone wasn't one Lolly liked but again she kept it calm. "Yea. I'm his wife." She said, subtly emphasizing on 'Wife'. Lolly read the girl.It seemed she liked her postion here. She was second only to Joey and Joey, as tough as she can be, she was still a kid and still impressionable and therefore controllable, Lolly was nothing of the sort. "So you know how this works then right?"
"Explain it to me." Lolly said, challengingly. "Seeing as Things seemed to change around this joint, since MY dad and his ran the place and him after that." She said. Maddy frowned a bit. "Yes, I'm the daughter of the 9f the First Five, Big Daddy Duncan" Lolly said and Maddy pursed her lips some. "Well," She said, a bit intimidated by Lolly now as she wasn't sure why. "Then Welcome back." She said and surprising her self, Lolly responded with. "It's good to be back." She said and Maddy walked off. It was then Jason walked over, he took one look at his wife's face and asked her why she looked like she was gonna cut somebody.
Lolly sighed. "Not even a day and I need a drink." She said before her eyes flicked over to Maddy as Maddy looked over at her. Jason wasn't slow, that was not gonna end well.
The next morning Jason woke up, he laughed as Lolly woke up too. "How old are we...I completely remember everything that happened last night....and our room isn't a disaster" he said with a grin looking at Lolly, as she made some smart ass comment. "Hey...play nice with all the kids at school today got it?" he said with a grin, she just rolled her eyes. He got up, getting ready, "the vote is going to happen today...sounds like Merc really just got in way over his head...so doubt the vote will be on the fence" Jason said, Lolly asked if Merc knew. "Not likely, I feel for the guy cause I think he was just trying his best, but Samson was right, this club is going to start dying soon if things don't get changed around" Jason said. Lolly said Joey was taking her out shopping and stuff that day, "Is Maddy coming?" Jason said laughing as Lolly just flipped him off. "Hey...maybe it's good news for me" Jason said, as Lolly looked at him confused. "The last chick you didn't like was Jetta when she came back...and we all ended up in bed together" Jason says laughing, reminding Lolly of the one event he knew would make her blush. He laughed as Lolly tried to come up with a smart ass remark but stumbled as Jason laughed "Got you that time baby" he said with a grin, she just pulled the blanket over her head, knowing she'd been had this time around.
That afternoon the club met for their church meeting, this was going to be the vote as to whether or not allow Jason back in the club. There were some other items, then Merc finally said "Alright...now for the reason we're all here" he said laughing as did the others. "Jason has asked if the club will take him back as a full patch member" Merc said, "and I don't think I need to go over his resume" Merc said as some more laughs went up. "Well...let's make this quick...all opposed..." Merc said, and as expected, not a single hand went up, "Then...what do we say?" Merc said with a grin as the members all cheered banging on the table. "Motion carried...Roach is back" Merc said, as the members all gave him a hug, as Merc handed him his cut. Jason looked at it for a moment before finally putting it on. Three years seemed to vanish as he slipped it on, feeling like he never had left. The rest of the meeting went on before they got to the end, Jason gave Samson the nod.
"Any other items for business?" Merc asked. "Yeah I got one" Samson piped up. The table looked at him as he took a moment, "I know how this sounds...and I don't mean any disrespect...but...I want to put forward a member's challenge to the President" Samson said. Merc looked at him a bit surprised, "I...I love you Merc, but this shit with the Kings, and some of the other stuff going on...brother I love you, but I love this club more, and we've been turned into a bunch of hired thugs for some fucking street gang. That ain't us...that's not who we are. And you won't listen to anyone...I mean we all know you grew up in the club, you grew up with Deke and Big Daddy, and Crazy Jimmy, you knew some of the First Five by name man...but that doesn't mean you just ignore the rest of us. We've been trying to bring shit up...and you just ignore us. You stepped in cause we needed somebody to step up...but...I mean not all of us are meant to be the Pres right? I challenge that Merc step down as President...and we hand the chair over to Roach" Samson says finally as the room is dead silent. Merc looks over at Jason "Do you accept?" he asks solemnly. "Yeah..I do" Jason said. "Well...then....I'll second the nomination" Merc said looking over at Jason. A small gasp was heard, by seconding the nomination Merc virtually handed the seat over to Jason. "Well...I suggest we take a day...get any proxy votes that need to come in...and we vote tomorrow...give everyone a chance to digest everything" Remmy said, "Sounds good to me" Jason said adding his approval, "Me too" Samson said nodding. "Okay then...tomorrow we vote...we're dismissed" Merc said hammering the gavel down. Merc made his way out of the room quick, heading to the President's room in the back.
Merc stormed into the room as Joey was in there having just gotten back from being out with Lolly. She asked what was wrong. "Well we voted Jason in...and apparently guys had me setup, cause as soon as we voted him in...they put out a challenge to have me step down and Jason to take over. The vote goes tomorrow" Merc said, looking visibly upset, but knowing in the back of his head that Jason is a much better fit for Pres than he ever was, Jason was born for it for crying out loud. Joey made a comment saying how could Jason do that to Merc, and what kind of friend was he. "Whatever Joey...it's JASON...how the fuck can anyone say he shouldn't be President...his dad BUILT this club, he's the crowned prince" Merc said lying down. Joey said Jason needed a unanimous vote to be President. "Just leave it alone...it's Jason's chair...he deserves it" Merc said. Joey said she was going to go talk to Maddy about it, then she was going to talk to Lolly. Before Merc could she was gone and out the door.
"How old are we...I completely remember everything that happened last night....and our room isn't a disaster." He said. Lolly smirked. "You were a bit busy..." She said cheekily. "Hey...play nice with all the kids at school today, got it?" He said and she rolled her eyes. "I make no promises." She said, somewhat childishly.
"The vote is going to happen today...sounds like Merc just got in way over his head...so doubt the vote's gonna be on the fence." He said as he got ready and Lolly frowned "Does he even know?" She asked. "Not likely, I feel for the guy cause I think he was trying his best, but Samson's right, the clubs gonna start dying soon if things don't get changed around. He said and Lolly sighed. She cared about Merc, he was just as much as a brother to her as Nicky and Jason was growing up. Honestly more so, he was older and she never slept him.
Changing the somber subject. Lolly looked up. "Joey's taking me shopping today." She said.,Jason grinned. "Is Maddie coming?" "Fuck you." She replied, gesturing the sentiment. "Hey, It's good news for me?"[/b] Lolly cocked her head. "What?"
"The last chick you didn't like was Jetta when she came back...and we all ended up in bed together." He said and Lolly opened her mouth to speak but she had nothing for that. She knew she'd rue that day...Jason made sure of that.
Got you this there, Baby." He said, revelling in his win. She ducked under the covers, defeated.
After a long afternoon, of shopping, Joey was in President's room waiting on Merc. She and Lolly bought some things for their guys and Joey couldn't wait to show Merc, however when he came in he looked bleak. "Merc? Is everything alright?" She asked. "Well we vote Jason in...and apparently guys had me setup, cause as soon as we voted him in...they put out a challenge to have me step down and Jason to take over. The vote goes tomorrow." He said and Joey never seen Merc this upset. She knew he was struggling with be President and was too proud to admit it but even still for Jason to blindside him with this. "How could he do that to you...that's not like him..." she said. "Whatever Joey...it's JASON...how the fuck can anyone say he shouldn't be President...his dad BUILT this club...he's the crowned prince." He said and lay down, Joey slid in beside him. "He needs a unanimous vote, that includes you." she told him softly. "Just leave it alone...it's Jason's chair...he deserves it."
He said and Joey sighed. This was killing him. "I'll talk to Maddy and then Lolly, see what they have to say about it." She said and disappeared out the door.
She found Maddy quickly, she was behind the bar as usual. "Hey Maddy." She said, unable to hide her expression. "You heard what happened to huh?" She asked, Maddy had a country twang in her voice. Always has. "Yeah..." Joey said. "That's fucked up. How can some guy who just up and left, come back and start taking shit over.?" Maddy said and Joey sighed. "Jason's dad built this club."
"So, It's not his dad, that came back, he did." She said and Joey sighed. "It wasn't the first time he left and came back..." Joey muttered, resting her arm on the bar, and Maddy frowned."What."
"Yea, He left before, when Lolly left him...He came back though." She said honestly, Joey was just venting, like she did with Lolly, not really thinking abour what she was saying snd who she was saying it too. Maddie knew that about her. She was good for all sorts of information. 'So it's Lolly who runs this show...' She thougnt. "I bet you Tell me more about Lolly." Maddie said, Joey went on telling her everything. Lolly didn't tell Joey everything but she knew enough. "So Lolly before she got with Jason, she was just a Mama?" "Yea I guess..." Joey sighed, she was more concerned for Merc and had him on her mind, she missed the deeper meaning in Maddie's questions. "Just a stripper..." She murmured. "Look, Lolly must have put him up to this, My guess is, Jason wanted back in but Lolly didn't want to go back to being just a regular Ol' Lady so she must have convinced Jason to push Merc, out." She said and Joey, for whatever reason believed that. Why else would he come back so strong and she seemed fine with it even though she knew Lolly hated it here. "I'll talk to her."She said and Maddie just shrugged. "You do that." She said and Joey went t find Lolly. Maddie smirked as she cleaned the bar. She wanted Lolly out. This was the way to do it.
Joey found Lolly at the shooting range. Lolly had lost her step some having missed a few times but she was getting back to it. "Hey Lolly." Joey said pissed off. Lolly turned hearing her turn. "What the hell is this I'm hearing about Jason challenging Merc for the President's seat." She asked defensively. Lolly sighed. Here we go...
(To be continue
Lolly walked inside the clubhouse fumming. Maddie saw this as a perfect opportunity to get to her. "Spoke with Joey did you?." She said and Lolly sighed. "What now." Lolly said. "You and Joey, she seems awfully pissed you're trying to take over her place in this club." Maddie said and Lolly realised where all of Joey's words were coming from. "So it's your fault."
"Mine? You're the one flaunting your pretty little ass around, to get her way. Well, I can't blame you. It's probably just a habit." Maddie said and Lolly cocked her head. "You wanna try that again?" Lolly said approaching her. "You are nothing but a stripper whore who happened to marry well." She said and Lolly's hand wanted to reach back for her gun it was empty and she decided against beating her with it. "Do you need to talk to your guidance counsler?" Lolly asked. Maddie frowned. "What?"
"Cuz this is some real high school bullshit right here, I don.t have for juvenile shit like this. I got kids at home for that." She said and walked off. Maddie knew she lost that word battle but she was far from done with her.
Once Lolly got home, She told Jason what happened. "She is working my nerves, Jason. Imma bust on in her ass one of these days. I'm telling you." Lolly said pacing. As calm as she was now, Maddie was testing the waters, she didn't know what type of shark Lolly could be. "I mean what the hell?" she said and Jason found it kind of funny, saying how she was doing good, her old self would have kicked her ass ages ago. "I'm a mother now, besides, If I fuck her up before your President, you could lose your chances. We came too far for that." She said and Jason pulled her into a hug, sayinga few things to calm her dowm and his usually kissing of the neck routine. "I'm trying to be nice. I am but I've never been one for patience." She said and Jason made a comment before pulling her into bed. "This ain't always gonna work ya know." she said and he laughed, calling her a terrible liar.
