Kenro is a young peasant boy. He lives and works at the Jade Dragon Inn alongside his loving mother. At the age of five, Kenro encountered a drunken straggler who wandered into the bar. Kenro quickly befriended the mysterious man, caring for him and helping him in any way he could. Unbeknownst to him, this man was Notoro Ushiro; an old samurai, banished from his clan for his drunken tendancies. After weeks of talking to the boy and recieving sneak-meals from him, Notoro revealed his identity to the young Kenro.
Wishing to repay him for his kindess, Ushiro gave Kenro the only thing he still had to offer: training in swordsmanship. Being as it was strictly forbidden that peasants learn such sacred arts, they met in secret. Kenro became Notoro's first and only student. For nine years Kenro trained, dedicating himself to the art of Araki Jinketsu Ryu. He came to love Notoro as a mentor, friend and father; almost as deeply as he loved his mother (to whom he still worked diligently for, earning his wages at the tavern). Kenro continues to train, and has built himself into a fine swordsman. Kenron owns no katana of his own (peasant are forbidden to own any weapons of any kind), but he frequently trains with his master's sword. Kenro holds fast to a Samurai's sense of honor, virtue and loyalty.
