xxxxgeneral style
cooper's definitely the type to dress to the weather, but make sure he's still looking good in the process. Leather jacket in winter, sunnies in the summer. Saying that, he'll still wear the socks with a hole in the heel in winter. After all, if they're in his boots, no one can see them.
while Cooper's style is casual and easy, with the young man seeing no issue in wearing the same item two days in a room, there's no denying that his casual fashion always looks good. He'd rarely walk out of the house in some shabby item. He likes fitted jeans, white shirts, a good jacket or hoodie and a favourite pair of shoes. If there's something to match his eyes, all the better. His hair too, while usually fairly natural, does get the occasional product in it when he's dressing up.
there's a small tattoo on his left side, against his ribs, that has the letters 'P' and 'L' together, the initials of his mother and younger brother.

Cooper likes lazy morning sleep ins, his thick pyjama
pants, and eating cereal straight from the box. He likes
baseball and going to sports games with his dad. Beach
days are his favourite, as well as summer. Warm
weather is all around his favourite, when he can shed
the layers and not have to worry about a thicker jacket.
He likes western movies and guilty pleasure tv shows.
Music has always been a passion of his, particularly
the piano. He also enjoys singing, though only in the
shower. Skateboarding and surfing are also favourite
pass-times, though surfing happens a lot less regularly. He hates pity, that look in people's eyes when he tells
them his mother is dead. He dislikes anniversaries.
Bullies are no fun, he doesn't like seeing other people
cry. He hates movie and book spoilers, let him finish
the book and film in his own time and discover the end
himself. Cooper also hates being stereotyped, just
because he plays sport, doesn't make him a stupid jock.
He's not allergic to any food, but doesn't like the taste
of strawberries. Unnecessary gore in movies isn't
his flavour either. He'll cringe away. First dates are
the worst too, unless he's already good friends.
personalityxxxxxxxxxxxxx
it's fair to say, life has not always been kind to Cooper.
His past hasn't broken him though, merely taught him to appreciate what he has. He's empathetic and kind, a surprisingly steady presence when his friends need a shoulder of support. He's learned a thing or two about handling grief. Though usually, Cooper is the one in the group with the easy-going grin on his face, ready to go out and enjoy the day or relax with a good movie. At first glance, and to those who don't know him well, he's that carefree kid with popularity and talent.
underneath, he struggles with confidence.
He knows where his strengths lie, - sports, music, chemistry - and yet there's still uncertainty whenever he performs. Music in particular; it's rare for him to play to an audience. Though, perhaps that's also because it reminds him of his mother. He also fears losing those people he's close to, whether they walk away from a friendship or more. Cooper will persevere in situations when it would be healthier to let the person go. Sometimes, the benefit is worth the effort, other times he puts himself through more stress trying to make it work.
he hides it well, convinces himself even.
it's easy to pretend you've got it together when you plaster a smile on your face and surround yourself with friends. If his hands are shaking before a piano recital, it helps to distract himself with people. But mostly, Cooper does have it together. He may not be the top student, nor the most popular, but he's hardly dumb and is fairly well respected at school. Stress doesn't seem to bother him too much. If his grades aren't perfect, he'll shrug and say he'll do better next time. He likes constructive criticism and positive reinforcement, since it helps him learn, and perhaps, bit by bit, might help to boost that lacking confidence.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxhistory
The formative years of Cooper's life were not particularly eventful. He was the second of three children born to Priya and Frank Temple, with Cara and Luca as older sister and younger brother respectively. Like all families, it wasn't perfect. He had fights with his parents and his siblings, but also made those golden memories you look back on and smile. His mother was a musician who made sure to teach all her children to play the piano, with Cooper taking to the instrument easily. He used to play duets with his mother, laughing as she improvised.
They moved into the neighbourhood when Cooper was ten, only a street away from the Bass household. It was at school he met Mason, both keen baseball players. Mason was the one who brought Cooper into the friendship group first, though he now considers them all his best friends. Between school, his family, and his friends, Cooper though his life was pretty good. That is until the night a pair of policemen came to his family home and he found out his mother and younger brother were fighting for their lives in the hospital. A drunk driver had veered over the centre lane.
The hospital was unwelcoming in Cooper's eyes, no more so when the anxiously waiting three Temples were told that neither of the two in the crash had made it. Cooper was 12 at the time and rightly devastated. He would go to counselling to help himself deal with the loses for the next year, and wouldn't touch the piano again for two. His father, sister and himself were all a mess.
Healing did happen, step by small step. The community supported them endlessly and though Cooper misses his mother and Luca, he's learned to live with the accident. The strong friendships he formed with LANC helped him through a lot, and he in turn has always been there to help them when in need. He doesn't know what will happen when the majority of them head off to university. He's intending on going to Hawaii to study after receiving a scholarship, yet all thoughts of the future have been put on hold at the news of Mason's disappearance. Cooper won't rest until they find his friend.
