Strengths & Weaknesses
creative | It's part of the reason why his compositions
have gained such notoriety; their elements of the wild
and the imaginative. More often than not he is compelled
to use this trait, along with his compassion, to help others
solve their troubles. x insightful | he sees through people's
dishonesty and manipulation and is able to steer such situations
in a more honest directionx Decisive | his sheer willpower and
conviction is near indomitable and he constructs logical plans
of recourse for any problem that may be in his way. He not
only dreams big, but he makes them a reality.
sensitive | he is especially vulnerable to criticism and
conflict and when one questions his methods he is most
likely to lash back.x private | he prefers to promote a
general image of his affability to others. He likes to be
on this level of acquaintance with everyone he meets so
as to not be forced in a circumstance where he would
need to share more about his life. x easily weary |
in always trying to present himself as the picture-perfect
person, being reluctant to let people in, and expending
such passion in every fiber of his being, he frequently
tires and even suffers from bouts of depression

"Music, being identical with heaven, isn't a
thing of momentary thrills, or even
hourly ones. It's a condition of eternity."

Tremors of a night undone
by dead end words and
double meanings and judicial use
of sin. It's steady canter
breeds cloying darkness.
It bears the insignia of us all and
it rides.

Sven could recall in vivid detail staring up at that cross section of the stars, not yet muddled by the pollution of the skies, tracing the outline of the constellations hundreds of times. Or the moments he would patiently await the sight of the planets as they traveled on their orbital paths. It is true that there was far more to his predecessorās life than the piece that gained him renown, however, in a cruel streak of irony, Sven knew that human existence was but a small blip on the cosmic radar. No one man could challenge the omnipotence of the universeās wide expanse.
Music was Svenās first and foremost love, again perhaps owing to his genetic makeup. Whereas he is ill-conceived to form anything meaningful with the bristles of a paint brush, music had provided the perfect outlet for his passion for the extraverted world to shine through. His heart had always gravitated toward the natural joys in life, a familiar theme in his musical composition, but perhaps that was done to counter the much darker thoughts that settled in his mind.
Svenās father had been a choirmaster and organist for a nearby church, performed piano recitals, and taught piano privately. With his mother also being a professional singer and pianist, Sven had his musical career laid out before him. Unfortunately, childhood ailments heavily hampered his technical abilities at instrumental performance. Originally he learned trombone, which his parents believed would help him with his asthma, and later he tried his hands at violin, but that too was affected by the neuritis in his right arm. He eventually settled on piano for it was the one instrument that most appealed to him and began to dabble in compositional studies in his teen years.
When he was young, Sven bore a hot-headed, fiery personality, with an accompanying fierce desire to please and disprove his critics. On the one hand his host of childhood illnesses served to dampen some these destructive tendencies, however they took far more along with it. Although Svenās compositions would grow to be widely acclaimed, some part of him always knew that he could never reach the level of mastery he desired or live up to his parentās expectations. This degenerating self-image was compounded and partially induced by the death of Svenās mother when he was twelve. While this occasion in itself had posed great emotional trauma, Sven was further debilitated by the ensuing neglect he experienced by his father and the woman he took on for his next wife. With very little emotional support and with only the express duty, in the words of his father, to progress his music, Sven soon grew out of touch with them and forming any further meaningful relationships from that point forward.
Sven would have continued down this path of self-induced isolation, if not for rising cost of his expenses. Much like his long ago counterpart, although Sven wrote his compositions with passion and as an unbridled catharsis, many people viewed his music as lacking that very element of humanism; they thought his music too austere. Finding it difficult to subsist off his personal funding alone, Sven had to find another job to help pay for his bills. He found this opportunity in bar tending at a local pub. Sven had never liked social exposure, but in this setting he knew he had to adapt for it necessitated establishing rapport with the customers. This being the case, Sven quickly developed the knack to redirecting questions that involved his personal life back onto the inquirer without their even noticing. He had also grown adept at projecting a general impression of cordiality to avoid people prying for his true disposition.
In spite of the fact that Sven dislikes people knowing of his background, he is not particularly conscious of how people view him. He is often too caught up in his own thoughts to heed or care what they may say. For example he wears a monocle, whose outdated appearance not only draws its fair share of glances but is not practical either for he has terrible vision in both eyes. He wears it for it is a family heirloom, but refuses to admit or bother himself with the fact that are far more flattering ways admire it that would not garner him so much ridicule. As often as he may appear lost in thought, Sven is not completely scatterbrained. He is in fact exceptionally perceptive and is able to read people very well. His discerning eye and knowledge of humanity's indiscretion and greed fuels his pessimism and is perhaps the reason why he never comes up from his apparent slump...
