Unfortunately, Ophie became quite busy after that night. "I'm going to need to borrow Ophie's talents for a little request." Baroness Anguis said with a little smile, Ayna flickering next to her, the specter at her side. "There's something I need to do. Trust me, you'll benefit from this too." Baron Pierce thought for a moment, and then he nodded. "You've been a gracious guest thus far." He said, looking her calmly in the eye. "So I'll trust you with my Baronling's well-being for now." And that was how, temporarily, Ophelia became Baroness Anguis's Baronling. Over the next day she ran all over the country, searching for clues, following the tracks Ayna left her. "This way." Ayna would say, pointing. "We have to keep looking. The target can't be far."

Finally by dusk of the second day, and by the day Fae Queen Monaka was scheduled to make her leave, Ophelia finally found the target. "There they are. I knew they wouldn't just sit quiet." They were hiding using Ophie's invisibility spell, carefully far enough away so that the duo wouldn't be able to hear them. Ophie glared, the target right in her crosshairs. Baroness Rafflesia and Baronling Feodth were still in Amiens, by the English Channel. They were getting close to where Baronness Occasus resided. Occasus and Vaswald lived quite far from each other, one in Germany, the other on the British Isles. If the two sisters were ever to come together, they would become Orbus Coelus and end the world with their power. The Herald of Destruction would blow everything away.

She didn't have time to think of these things for now. Ophelia dashed forward, knowing what she needed to do. Rafflesia and Feodth were still trying to spread the drug, and now, the silver angel was going to stop it.She felt something behind her, Ayna was following her lead, a friendly green ghostly glow. With a slice, her twin tails tore through Feodth's muscular body. He was big, he was strong, but his pain sensitivity was so low even a simple touch was enoguh to make him keel over. "Oh my." Rafflesia glowered, her fangs coming out. "A surprise attack? How rude of Baron Pierce to do such a thing." Ophelia unveiled herself, an icy stare in her crimson eyes.

"Sorry, but I'm Anguis's Baronling." And Anguis would definitely be willing to use tricks like this. She saw her points begin to skyrocket. Just like that, all of Feodth's points now belonged to her. "If you think you can get away with this-" Ophie grinned, pulling away, her tails sharp and gleaming with the moon's light. She wasn't stupid, she wasn't going to fight the Baroness. "Sorry, but it's against the rules for you to interfere, Rafflesia. And there's not enough time for you to fight back." She destroyed the vials of the awful drug, and veiled herself in invisibility again. The mission was done, now hopefully she would get the awful snake out of her clothes and return to her true Baron's side.

Her routine went on as normal, Monaka wanted to see everything, from how the food was prepared, to what sort of material Baron Pierce was teaching her. Alice did not enjoy having her around, asking questions, disrupting her routine. She even followed Rene into the bathroom during bath time. It was tiring, having Monaka around all the time. It was clear that Sonata didn't enjoy it either, although Baron Pierce didn't seem to mind. In fact, he almost seemed to enjoy having Monaka around, more than the other guests. More than once, she had caught Baron Pierce leaving Monaka's guest room with his tie undone. "Couple of love birds those two are," Echo observed, standing in the hallway, clutching a book, as she often did.

"Echo, how did tutoring go today?" Baron Pierce inquired. Echo bopped a fist against Alice's head, Alice blinking. "Thick as a brick wall this one is." Was that a good thing? Alice looked up at Echo. "Can't count for the life of her," numbers were not her strong suit, actually, learning wasn't her strong suit. She was too antsy to sit still at a desk, which was why Baron Pierce had turned learning into games. Alice could now go from A-Z with only one or two mistakes. Of course, it didn't help that she could barely pay any attention while reciting it. "Well, at least we're making some progress." Baron Pierce pat Alice's head. "Is Monaka going home soon?" She asked, puffing out her cheeks. "Tomorrow," Baron Pierce promised, which was when Monaka had said she would depart.

Tomorrow also happened to be the tea party that would announce the next round of who was moving on to the next stage in the Baron Trials. Alice couldn't go of course, she was to stay as far away from Baron King Messiah's castle in Paris as possible. "Oh, there you are." Monaka exited her guest room, smiling. Echo bristled, walking in the other direction. It's not that she disliked Monaka, she simply disliked everyone. "Alice, do you want to go flying?" Monaka asked, placing a hand on Alice's head. Almost immediately, her eyes began to glow. She collapsed, her sister catching her. "What is this? What's happening?" She demanded, slightly panicked. "She's having a vision," Baron Pierce lifted her, opening the door to Alice's room. "I'll place her in her bed until it passes." Monaka followed him, she had already scoured every inch of Alice's room to scrutinize the arrangements.

The ocean? Alice did not know how she knew, she had never seen the ocean before. It was vast, the sand squishing between her toes. There was a girl standing on the beach as well, one Alice had never seen. She had wings similar to Ophie's, only whiter if that were possible. Her hair was the color of snow and her eyes a pinkish red. "So this is earth without snow," she took a step forward, her shoes in her hands. "Okay Celeste," she breathed, taking off her crown and tossing it into the waves. "If Raphie won't tell me where they are, I'll just have to find them on my own."

With Feodth dealt with, there was nothing left to do but to return home to Amiens. "Let's go back, you've been away for too long." Ayna said with a little smile. "And thanks for agreeing to go along with the quest." Ophelia shook her head. "No, it was good to do this. We had to make sure Feodth was taken care of." While there was a good chance he would be disqualified, the silver angel didn't want to leave things up to chance. It was best to always take matters into your own hands whenever you could. "I'm sure you miss Alice though. Let's go back home." As they got on a bus that would take them back to the town by the Estate, Ophelia suddenly wondered. "So, don't you get hungry when you're a ghost all the time?"

"Well, I-" Before Ayna could finish talking there were several things that happened in short succession. First, a small white cat was walking across the road. It didn't seem to notice the bus at all. Second, a red blur went across the sky and landed in front of the bus, a single red wing protruding from her back, her hair dark, claws coming out her fist. She grabbed the little kitten and clung to it, holding it tight. Ophelia flew out of the now destroyed bus, Ayna following after her, sharing the same startled expression. Were they under attack? Just what was going on? "Stupid!" The red winged demon snarled, and power was coming off of her in waves. "How dare you endanger a cat like this!" Ophelia flew in, blocking her claw's strike with her tail, and then she was knocked to the ground. This feeling - this had to be a-

"Baronness Occasus, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be ruling over Britain right now?" Ayna asked, shimmering. Occasus looked at her and made a fanged grin. "But then who would save this kitty? Someone had to do it! You're not allowed to hurt animals! Whose territory is this?" There were rumors that Occasus was a Baroness who would do anything to save any animal she saw, she had a complex about saving them and taking them home with her. "And why do you want to know?" Occasus looked around, smelling the air. "Ah, so this is France. This is cheese land." She nodded as if that made all the sense in the world. "Well, I'm gonna go make Pierce a visit then."

Ophelia wasn't sure if she could allow that. The bus driver fainted from nearly being killed, but thankfully Ophie made it in time. She peeled herself off of the road. "And just what do you plan on doing?" Vaswald was a lot easier to handle. She was calmer and more reserved, while Occasus was like a wildfire that just did whatever she wanted to. "I'm gonna make a complaint that one of his staff almost killed this little angel!" She flew off, leaving streaks of flames on the ground. Ophelia sighed, looking at Ayna. The green ghost vanished, no doubt to warn Pierce about the visitor coming to break in. The angel rubbed her head, a new headache coming on.

Alice awoke a bit cranky, which was normal. She turned over onto her side, rubbing her eyes, feeling tired. Visions were like naps, except with weird dreams that she didn't like. "Feeling better?" Baron Pierce asked, patting her head. Alice winced, her head throbbed. "My head hurts," she whimpered. "You bumped your head when you fell, but I'll have Rene bring up something for the pain." Beside him, Monaka bristled. Faeries didn't use pain medicine of course, they took medicinal herbs and she did not like the idea of her sister taking those sinister medications. Rene came with water and two white pills, Alice took them, knowing it would make the pain stop. "It's almost dinner time, so no snacks." Monaka said, even though Alice hadn't asked for one. She was hungry though.

"Do you want to talk about your vision?" Baron Pierce prodded gently, knownig that sometimes it helped the crankiness. "There was a beach," Alice said after a bit of a pause. She squirmed and reached for Dog and Pog. "And a lady, she had white hair and wings like Ophie's." Monaka and Baron Pierce shared a glance. "An angel?" Pierce asked slowly, Alice nodded. "She was pretty," for some reason, this made Monaka mad. "Anything else?" She asked, crossing her arms. Alice thought for a minute. "She said, "Okay Celeste," and then it ended." Baron Pierce smiled slowly, as calm as ever under pressure. "Well, it seems the Queen of the Underworld has decided to pay us all a visit." He lifted Alice up, "let's see if Ophie has returned yet, I'm sure she'll be very interested in your vision."

"You don't think that could have really been her, do you?" Monaka asked, following him out and down the stairs. "I don't think it could have been anyone else." He replied swiftly, his tone light. The question was, what was Queen Celeste doing on earth? After Kitra's death, she had disappeared, more than likely whisked away to Heaven by her brothers. It was said that she had descended into madness after the death of her love and Baron King Messiah had made it perfectly clear that angels were no longer welcome on earth after they had attempted to assimilate and tried to treat humans as equals. Of course, this was already over one hundred years ago, no one had seen hide nor hair of an angel on earth for that long, at least. Human life spans were not that long either.

"I want cake." Alice declared, wriggling. "No cake until after dinner," Baron Pierce smiled, placing her down. She bound towards Sonata and Cal, who were playing cards in the parlor with the three faerie knights. They all rose as soon as their respective leaders entered the room, following Alice, who jumped onto the couch. "Is Ophie back yet?" She asked, immediately crawling onto Cal's lap as soon as he sat back down. "What game is this?" She asked, looking at all of the discs ont he table. "Poker," Sonata replied. "Raise," she tossed in more discs. "No, Ophie isn't back yet. I think she'll be here soon though." Cal glanced at his cards, "Pass." He leaned back, "I want to play too."

"No," Monaka replied from her spot. "Gambling is not something an Oracle needs to learn."

Moving fast, Ophie and Ayna needed to get home quick. By the time Ophelia finished making it home, Ayna had already made her report to Baron Pierce. "Occasus is coming." She said as Ophie entered through the door, all tired out from being temporarily made Baroness Anguis's Baronling. "She's going to yell at you about animals or something." Anguis snickered, grinning. "Don't worry, Occasus is relatively harmless." She took a cracker, biting down on it with her teeth. Sonata and Calciferous welcomed Ophie back home, waving at her. "So what happened that Occasus needed to come here?" Cal asked, a laugh in his eyes. "A bus driver almost ran over a cat." Ophie explained balefully, shaking her head. "I'm hungry." Cal laughed, nodding. "Yup, that sounds like her. I'm sure it'll be quite entertaining."

He and Sonata had been playing poker. And to Ophie's dismay, Fae Queen Monaka was still here, glaring with disapproval at the cards. What, did they personally wrong her or something? Did she lose a game of go fish and now have a stick up her butt against card games? The angel didn't know, but fae folk were fickle and flighty like that. You couldn't trust them as far as you could throw them. "Good to see you too." She said, averting her eyes from Monaka, but it was good to pretend to be polite at least. Would Monaka acknowledge the one who so disliked her? Who really knew at this point? "Want to play a few rounds before she gets here?" Sonata asked as Ophelia went to Anguis to complete the transfer of ownership. She once again belonged to Baron Pierce, who welcomed her safe return.

Ophie sat with Sonata and Calciferous and played quite a few rounds of poker. She even greeted Alice, giving her a little candy which no doubt Monaka glared at had Ophie been paying the slightest been of attention towards her. It was near the end of the day when the door burst open as someone very rudely arrived. "The savior is here! Baron Occasus demands your patronage, Baron Pierce!" The fire winged Baroness declared, making her arrival known to all. Poor Rene was knocked to the ground by the door that swung at her as she tried to open it when Occasus came through.

With Occasus was a horde of cats, dogs, even a cow had followed her in. Was this what took her so long compared to Ayna and Ophie, who both arrived quickly at the estate? "I have many complaints! The animals in your territory are in great danger! How could you allow that!" She began rattling off reasons. This cat was almost hit by a bus. This cat was almost eaten by a demon. This dog had it's ear hurt in the animal fighting ring. This cow didn't have enough good grass to eat. "I demand you provide better living for your animals, or else I'll have to come visit again and be angry!" Did Nova know of the Little Pandora who was stolen from her own timeline and turned into this? It was odd seeing Occasus using a little child's frozen-in-time body to make her demands. While Vaswald was in the body of a full grown Ellen Winter, Occasus used the body of a 12 year old Pandora Vale.

Ophie and Ayna returned at last, both seeming out of breath. A Baroness was coming for a visit? "I should take my leave then." She gestured to her knights, who sighed and their cards in. "Thank you for your hospitality, Baron Pierce." Monaka said, Baron Pierce taking her hand and kissing the back of her palm. Alice looked at the gesture, curious as to what it meant. She looked back at the others, wondering if they were a relieved as she was that Monaka was leaving at last. "Alice, come say goodbye." Baron Pierce instructed. She slid off of the couch, knowing that she couldn't escape this. Alice followed them to the door, sucking on the candy that Ophie had given her. "Echo!" Cal called, now that they were down three people for poker. "Come play with us!"

"Goodbye Alice," Monaka knelt down, "I know you are happiest here and I want you to stay where you feel safest." She placed her hand on Alice's shoulder and drew her into a hug. "You are always welcome to come home." This was Alice's home though. "Bye," Alice hesitated, then hugged her back. Monaka broke the hug after a minute, rising to her feet. "Come, let us return to the woods." Their wings glistened in the light of the evening sky, they flew so high that they seemed to simply disappear. "Bye, bye." Baron Pierce closed the door behidn him. Alice went back to the parlor, where they were playing cards. Echo had come to join them, wearing what looked to be a cozy outfit.

Alice crawled onto the couch, sitting on Echo's lap this time. "Oh ho ho? What's this?" Cal laughed, "Echo actually letting someone touch her?" Echo stuck her tongue out at him. "It's not someone, it's Alice and she's tiny, so I don't care." Perhaps she was simply starved for human touch after being isolated for so long? The door opened without so much as a knock, in came a herd of animals, led by their patron, Baroness Occasus. "Oh, it's you." Baron Pierce rose, placing his cards down. "I was expecting a visit," Alice slid off of Echo's lap, her eyes wide. Baron Pierce was patient as Occasus made demands of him, he had not known of an animal fighting ring and intended to shut that down immediately.

Alice, in the meanwhile, looked over at Ophie. "Do you know someone named Celeste?" She asked softly, recalling that Baron Pierce had said that Ophie would be interested in this information. "She was on a beach today, on earth. I saw her." Alice went to try and pet the cow, wanting to see if it would let her sit on it. She took Dog and Pog with her, shyly holding out her hand. The cow mooed, its tail swishing. Alice took that as a friendly sign. She reached up, but the cow moved away, settling on the carpet. She followed it, "What is this?" She knew dog and cat now too, but she had never seen something quite like this.

Occasus went to go complain to Baron Pierce about the treatment and safety of animals in his territory, and in the meantime Ophelia was made to sit next to her friends - if angels had such. There was a sudden pain in her chest, a pulsating. Something was wrong, but she didn't know what. What was this feeling? She never felt it before. Was this what her brother was talking about? Was Laertes in danger somewhere? She sure hoped that that wasn't the case. "Bye." She said curtly to Fae Queen Monaka as she made her leave, but didn't pay much attention to her. She pulled at the throbbing pain on her double ringed halo. It was pulsating. "What the heck, is that your halo?" She nodded grimly, staring up at it. "It has two rings, because I'm an Angel Knight." A class higher than the average knight, but not an archangel like the Angeal family, who had triple rings.

The pulsing only got more painful as Alice asked her a question that made everything made sense. Celeste? Every angel knew Celeste. Some demons knew of her too, but only demons who were around in the Tower Society during the war two hundred years ago. "Ce-Celeste? On a beach today?" She gulped, her heart pounding in her chest, trying to break out of her ribcage. "Where? Beach? Which beach?" She gripped Alice, terror in her eyes. Why would Queen Celty be here? Why would she go to Earth? Was something wrong, did something awful happen? "W-hey. Calm down a little, Ophie." Cal said with a chuckle. "I'm sure it's just-" He didn't know, he wasn't one of the ones in the inner circle who was informed.

"Alice, you have to tell me where she is. Please, this is important." Queen Celeste, in her broken mental state after losing her wife and lover, Queen Kitra, coming down to a demon-infested Earth. There weren't many demons around who were as kind and wonderful as the ones here in Amiens. Even Anguis and Ayna turned into decent guests, though eventually even they would have to return home to Hungary with one another. "Because that's-" She fell silent. She couldn't say it, she didn't want to say it. She didn't want to tell these demons and the fae that the most important person, the Queen of Hell and angel of Heaven, was down on Earth. She needed to go to her. She could feel every cell in her blood screaming at her to go to Celeste right now.

Sonata put an arm on her shoulder, frowning. "Whatever it is, I'm sure it can wait until after tomorrow." Sonata's voice was oddly gentle. "Remember, we need to rest early tonight to be on time for the tea party tomorrow." The tea party where Baronling Feodth would be eliminated from the running, yes, that was important, but not as important as making sure Celeste was okay. "I have... to find her." Ophelia said quietly, her red eyes glowing as she made her halo invisible again. "As soon as the tea party ends I'll go get her."

Alice froze, Ophie had gripped her shoulders, her nails digging into Alice's skin. "O-Ophie," Alice whimpered, trying to step back. Cal broke her free of Ophie's grasp, laughing. Alice pulled away, not wanting to be touched. She hugged Dog against. "I don't know," her voice was quiet. Ever since Baron King Messiah had torn her to shreds, she had been awfully sensitive to pain. Before, something like that wouldn't have even made her flinch. "I just saw a beach," Alice looked at the floor. Sonata was quick to intervene as well, "Hey, you did your best, don't mind Ophie." But the Angel was begging her, she wanted Alice to tell her everything. "That's all I know," Alice took a step back. "Ophie," Cal chided, "you're scaring her."

"Come on Alice, want to look at the cow?" Alice nodded, Cal picking her up so that she could try and sit on the cow. Sonata chided Ophie, telling her it would have to wait until after the tea party tomorrow. Alice culdn't leave the property and would be staying home, not that she wanted to go to Paris. Cal placed her on top of the cow, smiling to himself. "That's not a good idea," Echo said from the doorway, sucking on a lollipop. It seemed she still had her oral fixation, after nearly two hundred years and an evolution, you'd think she would have outgrown it. "Cows can buck if they get mad." Cal blanched and lifted Alice right off of the animal. It seemed Rene had recovered from getting hit by the door, smiling despite the pain she was in. "It's nearly dinner time, if you all want to go to the dining room?"

Alice ran to take her seat, Baron Pierce and Baroness Occasus would be taking dinner in his office and Rene was not going to feed the dozens of animals currently occupying the parlor. Alice would though, she fed the white cat that had followed her into the dining room, sneaking pieces of bread to it. "Can we keep it?" Alice asked, the cat winding around the legs of the chair. It purred, rubbing against Alice's legs. "No, you already have two dogs." Sonata teased, referring to Dog and Pog. Pog was in the top part of Alice's dress while Dog was sitting against the plate, as though he were about to eat up all of Alice's spaghetti and meatballs. "I'm full," Alice had barely eaten half of her food this time.

"Are you sure?" Rene now had a bandage on the bruise on her face. "What about dessert?" Alice squirmed in her seat. "There's always room for dessert!" Rene laughed, "then three more bites." She counted the bites Alice ate, then gave her the dessert. A scoop of ice cream with sprinkles, which Alice gladly dug into. Had Monaka still been there, she would have been chidding them for Alice's lack of fineness and manners. She was a Princess, Monaka would say, so she needed to act like it. "Now I'm really full," she leaned back in her seat, Echo reaching over to steal the rest of her ice cream. "We should talk about a strategy, in case they try to excuse Feodth's behavior." Sonata said darkly, afraid that he wouldn't be disqualified for his atrocious actions.

With panic in her eyes her nails dug into Alice's soft delicate flesh. The way Alice pulled away in fear made Ophelia's grip slacken and guilt pulsed through her chest. How could she do something like that? "I- I'm sorry, I just have to know where she is. It's important that I find Celeste." She was the Queen, she needed to make sure she was safe. Ophelia needed to go and make sure that Celty return to Heaven and wait for her and Laertes to finish the job she assigned for them to do. "Don't worry, petting a cow will help you calm down." Cal said with a bright grinning smile, which faded away quickly when Nova revealed that cows can buck when angry or upset. Why was there even a cow here? How did it follow Occasus all the way here?

Food went by quickly in any case. Ophie helped encourage Alice to eat by offering her a candy, just like the usual ritual that they always do. Now though, Sonata wanted to talk strategy just in case Feodth wasn't eliminated but Ophelia shook her head. She and Ayna already took care of that problem in any case. "No, it's okay. Ayna and I made sure he had no points, and there's not enough time left for him to get more or tomorrow's party." Cal nodded, approving. "That's good. I'm glad we won't have to worry about Rafflesia hurting anyone anymore." It was hard for him to see Sonata become harsher and lose some of the natural light in her eyes because of having to survive the drug like that. "Let's get to bed. It's a long day tomorrow."

The tea party went just as expected, thankfuly. Ophie was first place, because she got Feodth's points, who he stole from multiple other people in his bid to become a Baron. And just as predictably, Feodth was eliminated for having zero points at the end of this month. "A very strong competitor was defeated, and a new month begins." Baron King Messiah commented, sipping his tea somehow with his mouthless face. "There are only two months left, Baronlings. Fight strong, because some of you will have an opportunity to go from Baronling, to Baron." Was he smiling? Was it possible for him to do something like that? "This competition is almost over now."

Quickly Ophelia ducked out. She had something important to attend to. Just like last month when she needed to get Alice out of Magnolia, this time she needed to find Celty before it was too late. Not any demon was as kind as Baron Pierce. What if she ended up with the wrong crowd? "I'm coming too." Laertes said, confirming that he felt the same throbbing pain in his whole body last night. It must be a signal that the Queen was coming, what else could that shared pain of theirs be? "She should be at the ocean." Ophia sad softly, wondering what to do. "Let's try the English Channel first." Laertes suggested, flying westwards.

"Baron Pierce, would you mind waiting a moment?" Messiah asked as he rose from the table. The tea party had been adjourned, the other Barons filing out. "Not at all," he took a seat once more. "Go on, I'll meet you two back at the estate." Sonata and Cal nodded, taking their leave. They knew when they weren't invited and they could only imagine what the King wanted with Pierce. "The Oracle, has she had a vision since returning?" Baron Pierce nodded, there was no use in lying. "Yes, she has had only one since returning." Messiah nodded, he did not ask about what the vision was. "Baron King Messiah, I do appreciate you returning Alice to my care, but I was curious as to why?" It was a question he might regret asking, but Baron Pierce needed to know if Messiah intended to try and take Alice again.

"She needed to be in a place where her abilities would develop and that was not here." Messiah drummed his fingers against the table. "You've merely confirmed what I had been suspecting." Pierce rose, "is there anything else?" He inquired, eager to take his leave. "No, but tell Nova she needs to begin attending the meetings." Pierce nodded, he would relay the message. "You may go," Baron Pierce left, finding Sonata outside, speaking to her parents. Cal was leaning against the wall, chewing gum. "Are you two ready?" He inquired, not wishing to rush Sonata. "Yes!" She called, bounding over, waving back to Doll and Christopher. "We'd like to come see Echo sometime," Baron Pierce nodded. "My door is always open," they left Paris and headed home for Amiens.

Alice was laying in the sun, coloring. Dog and Pog were sitting across from her, each wearing colorful ribbons. "A cat?" She looked up, spotting a white cat outside. "Alice! It's almost lunch time!" Rene called, Alice was coloring in the numbers that Baron Pierce had wanted her to learn, but the cat had her full attention now. "A kitty," she clambered onto the sill, opening up the window. It was the first floor and the parlor windows opened easily, letting in the early fall air. "Kitty!" She waggled her fingers, the cat coming over and brushing against her hand. "I'm gonna keep you," Alice decided, she picked up the cat and placed it on the couch, wondering what she would name it. She looked around for inspiration, turning in a circle.

"Who are you?" The cat had suddenly transformed! "I can sense Ophie's aura," she looked around with wide eyes, Alice knew who this was, she realized. "Celeste?" She clambered onto the couch, holding her two toys, whom she would have consulted for naming help. "Do I know you?" The angel asked, the two gazing at one another. "I saw you in my dreams!" Alice pointed, "And I told Ophie, but she scratched me!" Celeste took Alice's hand in her own. "You know Ophie?" Alice nodded exuberantly. "Alice it's-" Rene paused in her path, her eyes wide. The doors to the estate opened, it seemed Baron Pierce and the others had returned.

Ophelia and Laertes were on the prowl. They made it to the English Channel, where across the sea was London. Once upon a time London was the most important place in humanity, it was where humans made their final stand. Now all they have left is the small island nation of Japan, and would Japan really be enough to win the world back for humanity? Though Ophie was of the opinion that humans were just as bad as demons, if not worse in some aspects. Both races were vicious and sinners, they lacked the sophistication that angels had. The sea crashed against the cliffs and the smell of sea salt was strong for the poor angel's delicate noses. "It's been a long time since we've been to Heaven." Laertes said, looking up at the clouds. Ophelia nodded, understanding the sentiment.

Queen Celeste wasn't here. They went to the wrong beach. A dull thump of pain was in her chest as she realized this. Where was she now? They were supposed to be Celty's primary aides and confidantes as her two personal angel knights. They were sent away to Earth and it's been so long now since they've seen their Queen and Master. "Only two months left. Then we can spring our trap." The Baron Exams would be on. Once, the siblings were to compete against each other to try and kill Messiah first but they came to an unspoken agreement that they needed to work together. After seeing more of Baron King Messiah, they realized the threat he was, that they couldn't beat him without help. "Be careful, sister." Laertes warned, his red eyes locking with hers. "Make sure no one finds out you have that knife." She frowned and looked back at him. "You're the one hiding under plain sight. You can't let him find out who you are."

Suddenly Ophelia's phone went off. She was given it by Baron Pierce when she agreed to become his Baronling. It was to be used when it was necessary to reach the others for whatever reason. "Hello? Baron Pierce?" She asked, looking at his holo projection as it appeared next to the angel siblings. "We found Celeste. You should come quickly back to Amiens." The painful throbbing of their halos dissipated as he gave the news. "We're on our way. Thanks, Pierce." Laertes said with a sudden beaming grin. The two siblings couldn't help but feel giddy as the reunion with their beloved Master was nigh. "Let's hurry back." Ophie implored and he nodded, his wings expanding from his back.

It was evening when Ophelia and Laertes arrived at Baron Pierce's Estate in Amiens. Calciferous and Sonata grabbed them, taking them in, both of them grinning from ear to ear. For once, the Amiens house was back to being full of life and jubilance, unlike the tense truce there was between the demons and the fae folk. "Celeste is -" How much was she allowed to say? In either case, they were taken to where Celty was allowed to wait for them in the parlor, already a glass of sparkling water in her hands thanks to Rene. "Que - Celeste!" Ophelia cried, running to her master and going onto her knees, Laertes mirroring her movements. They both knelt their heads, and waited to be addressed.

"You must be Celeste," Baron Pierce stood in the entryway to the Parlor. Sonata and Cal were right behind him, frozen. Rene had screamed, alerting everyone to Celeste's presence. "Yes, that's me." She smiled angelically. If one were to look up the word angel in the dictionary, they would find a picture of Celeste. She was the essence of the word, radiating purity like the sun. "How did you get here?" Alice asked, swinging her legs. Rene recovered from her shock, retrieving snacks for everyone. "I flew," Celeste replied, reaching for a cookie. Alice reached for one as well, but Baron Pierce gently guided her hand to the healthier snacks. She retreated, deciding she would rather have no snacks than a healthy one. "Did you know Ophie would be here?" Celeste shook her head. "No, but a Baroness picked me up and I fell asleep in the garden, then when I woke up, I could sense Ophie's aura."

She took Alice's hands in her own. Celeste was bigger than her, but not by much. "Baron Pierce I'm incli-" Echo froze in the doorway. A book fell from her hands, yawning closed as she stiffened. "Echo!" Celeste rose, running to give her a hug. "Look at you! You're bigger than me now!" She giggled, spinning Echo in a circle. "Wh-what are you doing here?!" Celeste tilted her head to the side. "I'm looking for my knights, they left and I don't know why." She shook her head, dragging Echo into the parlor, where everyone had gathered. "Wait, you know her?!" Cal asked, incredulous, tail swishing rapidly. Echo's own tail had curled around her leg, her cheeks bright pink. "I saved Echo!" Celeste said happily, Echo neither confirming nor refuting the claim. It was true enough, had Celeste not intervened and incidentally kidnapped Echo from earth, she probably would have died.

Alice crawled onto Echo's lap, Echo tolerating the fae, perhaps even not hating her as much as she did everyone else. "Have a biscuit," Celeste handed cookies to both Echo and Alice, Alice happily munching on one, not minding that Baron Pierce had told her no only two minutes before. "It seems we have quite the reunion on our hands," he was smiling, his demeanor as calm as ever. Should anyone ever find out that Celeste were here, it would spell death for them all. The angels and demons, while not at war, were not exactly in a time of peace either. Baron King Messiah had declared angels enemies of earth, wishing to give the humans power once more. Therefore, they were to be killed on sight. Celeste was lucky she had ended up in Amiens, of all places.

The door burst open, two angels rushing inside to greet their charge. Celeste rose abruptly when she saw them, her feathers ruffling. Alice had never seen something like this before and she reached out to touch them, Echo grabbing her wrist to stop her. "Ophelia! Laertes!" They were both kneeling, Celeste dropping her glass and hugging them each around the neck. "Why did you leave me?" She asked, tears welling up in her eyes now that she was reunited with her knights. Alice watched, curious. She still struggled with outward inflections and watched others to observe how they reacted in situations. "I found her Ophie!" Alice declared, having been the one to drag the sleeping cat on the windowsill inside.

The pulsing pain faded away, the siblings finally free. What was that feeling, and why did they feel it? They didn't really know at all what was happening, but one way or another, it lead them back to where they both belonged. Queen Celeste was here, in the flesh, here to see them. Somehow, she made to Amiens. Uncharacteristically Ophelia felt joy beam across her face and Laertes let go of the usually sarcastic drawl he often wore, an unfiltered look of happiness and releif at seeing Celeste safe and sound. "My Queen, you're here." Her voice was trembling. "Why are - how are you - what are you doing here?" Didn't she know how dangerous it was? She wasn't a fighter, that was why Queen Kitra was the one in charge of the fighting, and even she wasn't strong enough to defeat Baron King Messiah.

Then she asked them both a very starnge question. Why did they leave her? "Leave? What are you talking about, my Queen?" Laertes asked, raising his eyebrows comically. "You don't remember giving us the Heavenly Order?" He reached into his pack to pull out a glowing scroll. Only angels could touch it, but anyone could read it if one opened it in front of them. He unraveled the scroll, gently taking the golden clasp off so that it could be opened up. "By Order of Queen Celeste, the Angel Knights Ophelia and Laertes Illuvia are to descent to Earth, take Baron King Messiah's head, and end his reign of terror over Earth once and for all." Ophelia recited, since she knew it off by heart. "It even has your signed stamp to prove it was you."

Did she have amnesia again? From what Queen Kitra told them Celeste often had issues with amnesia. The siblings both looked at each other, trying to divine some sort of answer to this. "You didn't hurt your head on the way down and forget giving us the order?" Laertes asked, looking at her as if she were some sort of strange animal. How had she even gotten here? Did she get mixed up in the flock of animals so gallantly rescued by Baroness Occasus? Alice came to answer that question for them, she was the one who found her. "Thank you for finding her, Alice. Do you want an extra can-" She suddeny blushed deeply. She didn't intend on showing this part of her to Queen Celeste, that was just embarrassing!

"My sister's gotten real friendly with the locals." Laertes snickered, nudging a mocking finger her way. "To think she used to be so uppity too." She shook her head, her crimson eyes burning. "I am not uppity! It's just that angels are the most sophisticated of all the folk!" Demons and humans were sinners, fae were tricksters that couldn't be trusted, even light bearers could descend into sin and become agents of darkness. Only angels could reach the holy light that someone like Queen Celeste radiated. "But you look much better." Ophie's voice became soft as she gazed at her Master. "First time you smiled ever since Queen Kitra's..."

Queen Celeste blinked in confusion, looking at the scroll. "That's... that's not my hand writing," she took the scroll from Ophelia carefully, looking at the written print. "No, that's Gabe's." Celeste blinked, she had a looping cursive, versus Gabriel's neat print. "Can I see it?" Alice asked, uncertain as to why she suddenly wanted to touch it. Celeste rolled the scroll back up and handed it to Ophelia. "Why would Gabe do that?" Why would he go around her? Gabriel was technically the King at the moment, with his loyal wife, Maya, ruling at his side. While Celeste still technically ruled Hell, her Kingdom was empty and she had returned home. Her easy smile had disappeared, realizing that she had been duped by her brother. He had sent them away? And he had lied to her when she had asked him about it?

Alice reached for the scroll, wanting to touch it, but Laertes took it away quickly. She frowned and leaned back, crossing her arms. "There's nothing wrong with being friendly with the locals," Celeste shook her head, glad that Ophie had made some friends. "I didn't think faeries were local though? Unless they started moving into the old human cities?" She didn't know, she didn't spend much time studying new earth. Since Kitra's death, Celeste had barred herself in her room, which was a wreck. She could barely control her transformations again, her emotions out of control. She had dillusions once more, her Mother and Father spending majority of the last two hundred years trying to get her to control them again.

Everything she had worked so hard for had been undone the moment Kitra's head showed up in her doorway. "I'm glad you two are both alright," it was clear that Celeste was relieved to see both of her knights again, but her smile slipped right off the moment Ophie pointed out that it was the first time she had smiled since Kitra's death. "It's hard to smile when your soul mate is dead." She said softly, unknowingly grabbing Alice to hug her like a stuffed animal. "I want another cookie-" Baron Pierce cleared his throat, stopping Alice from stealing another one. She pouted, hugging Dog while the Queen hugged her. "I like her," Alice decided. "She can stay in my room," Sonata and Cal both laughed.

"Careful Ophie, Laertes, it looks like Alice might steal your Queen if you're not careful." Alice leaned into Celeste's hug. "She's warm, like the sun." Rene cleared her throat, "I hate to interrupt, but dinner is ready." Baron Pierce rose, "I had the chef prepare enough food for three angels. Unless of course, Laertes has to return to Baron King Messiah's side?" Celeste blinked, releasing Alice, who was squirming to try and get to the dinner table. "Why would he have to go to that demon's palace? Laertes is my knight. Not his," Alice took Echo's hand, trying to drag her to the table to eat with them rather than isolate herself in her room.

There was confusion from both of the angels when Celeste revealed that the writing was not hers, but rather, Gabe's. "It's... it looks like yours though." Gabriel Angeal was the King of Heaven and ruled with his demon wife, Maya, daughter of the former King of Hell, Satan. "Did he forge it?" For some reason Laertes sounded amused. "That does sound like him actually. King Gabriel's always been a little sneaky." Was it okay to show such disrespect to the Angeal family? "Why would King Gabriel do this?" Did that mean the mission was off? Did Celeste come to take them home? "We were tasked with taking Baron King Messiah's head." But if it wasn't Queen Celeste's own order, did that still make it valid, or was it not a valid order anymore?

She didn't know what to do now. Even so, with Alice's safety being in danger thanks to the wicked ambitions of Baron King Messiah meant that he couldn't simply be left alive. "Well, if it's Alice's safety you're questioning..." Laertes trailed off, but Ophie knew what he meant. They could simply chose to abandon their post here and return to Heaven, they could leave this all behind and take Alice with them where she would be safe. Demons couldn't enter Heaven, something like that would be a travesty. "Why don't you stay here in Amiens for now?" Laertes said with a grin, taking Queen Celeste's hand. "Just be careful about the fact that you're an angel." There were a few people they could trust right now with that knowledge, but if Anguis or Ayna ever found out the truth they would be in trouble. As kind as those two have been as guests, Anguis and Messiah were still lovers. But how could they keep the mission a secret from someone like Ayna, who was undoubtedly listening in this very moment?

Alice was already fraternizing with Queen Celeste. They both had a lot of similarities, or as close as an angel and a fae could get. Was that why Ophie became so sweet on the child so quickly? "Because he's employed at Baron King Messiah's Eiffel Tower as a servant demon." Ophelia explained. "That way he'll be in position once I pass my Baron Exams to sneak in and help me eliminate Baron King Messiah once and for all." The siblings would work together to defeat the foe, accomplish the mission, and return home safely. "Wait, does that mean you'll be leaving?" Calciferous asked, his eyes wide with alarm. "You'll leave after?" Ophie frowned, looking at him. Her heart hurt, but she didn't know why.

"I should go soon." Laertes scrunched up his nose. "But I don't want to after finally seeing you." Ophelia glowered, looking at him. "You'll be in trouble. What if Messiah finds out about you?" He couldn't be off duty like this for so long, he was important to the plan. Ophelia suddenly blushed, feeling the need to hide her tails. Back in Heaven when she was training, she always hid her tails. They were a disgusting mutation that a proper angel shouldn't have. Celeste never thought bad of them, she was the one that trained her in using them to fight with, but even so.

Alice watched Laertes leave, it seemed he would not be staying for dinner. "Celeste, you are free to stay here until you make a decision." Baron Pierce said, knowing that Ophelia would feel more comfortable if her Queen were to remain close at hand. "Thank you, I guess it would be best to stay here for now." Celeste shuffled, dinner was ready, they all moved to the dining room. It pained her to see Laertes go, she didn't understand why Gabriel would do this. "He always has his reasons, but normally he would consult me first." She seemed uncomfortable with the fact that her own brother had betrayed her like this. Alice didn't understand why it mattered, but she didn't like Messiah very much either.

"I want you both to come home, but if he ordered this..." they were Angel Knights, not Celeste's personal knights, they had a duty to their King as much as they did to Celeste. Alice sat in her normal seat, beside Baron Pierce. Echo decided to eat dinner with them as well, instead of up in her room, like she normally would. "What's this called?" She whispered to Rene, wondering what was on her plate. "That's meat loaf, those are mushrooms, and that's a brownie." Rene pointed to each dish so Alice would know. She turned back to her plate and picked up her fork, deciding that she didn't like meatloaf, but she liked mushrooms. She nibbled on her brownie, feeling sleepy from a full day of playing.

"Can Celeste stay in my room?" Alice asked, her eyelids drooping as she began to fall asleep at the table, which seemed to be a nightly habit. "No Alice," Baron Pierce pat her head. "Celeste will have her own room." He nodded to Rene, who lifted Alice up, making sure that she had both Dog and Pog. "Say goodnight Alice," Rene prompted, bouncing her up and down. "Goodnight Alice," Baron Pierce laughed. Rene carried her upstairs, changing her into pajamas and tucking her into bed. Downstairs, Celeste had nibbled on a little bit of her food, but wasn't really hungry. She was more perturbed, than anything, that her family would go behind her back. She was still in a fragile state, it was easy enough to see, but she still wanted to be treated like an adult.

"I'm glad I found you two, or rather, it seems you found me." Celeste tried to smile, but it was clear she was wrestling with her emotions. "I don't know if it's smart to go after Baron Messiah, he-he killed Kitra." Her hands tightened around her fork and knife, they were shaking, recalling that awful day that her beloved's head had been delivered to her in a box and she had descended back into a world of delusions and madness. Grief was a strange thing, especially in Celeste's broken mind. Sometimes she still expected to wake up with Kitra beside her, but no matter how much she hoped and prayed, Kitra was still dead.

They couldn't go home yet. Even if the order wasn't Queen Celeste's order, the two angel knights still had an obligation to fulfill the order that they were given by King Gabriel. Ophie looked at Laertes who shrugged. "We'll be back shortly. What, it'll be like two months left until we'll make our move, right?" Ophelia frowned and nodded, her silver locks bouncing with the movement of her head. "So what will you do for now, Queen Celeste?" They were all curious about what the angel kitten would do now that she was here. It seemed she was intent on remaining here for the time being. "I'll be going, but I'll come visit." Laertes kissed her hand and flew off, needing to return to his position in waiting.

It was dinner time now and Ophelia and the others gathered at the table. There was still lots to talk about, but was it safe when Ayna and Anguis could be listening in? The last thign they wanted was to alert Baron King Messiah that his executioners were here and already gunning for him. There was another guest too, a red winged demon named Occasus, glaring unhappily at the meatloaf. "What poor animal became this meat?" She asked, shaking her head. "All animals deserve to be loved and protected!" She was an avid animal lover, and far more emotional than the ice cold Vaswald. "But this girl's really cute too!" She touched Celeste who was sitting next to her, her fingers gliding across the wings. "Don't touch." Ophelia glared at the potential enemy. "That's mine." Occasus whistled. "Oh my, young love. Anyways, stop hurting animals! Demon rights for all animals!" Occasus finished eating her autumn salad and left the estate, giving a breath of relief to Baron Pierce who had been forced to deal with her this whole time. Occasus and her fire was much harder to get along with than Vaswald.

Alice went to sleep, so it seemed Celeste would get her own room. She still wanted to talk a little for now, and Ophelia would oblige her. "But it's true that he's done something awful. No doubt his death would help soothe things over in Heaven." At least it would allow for Heaven to stop being afraid of a new angel-demon war spanning generations like the last time, when so many noble lives were lost and stripped away. "What will happen to us once Messiah's dead?" Sonata asked, narrowing her eyes. "Messiah's the only thing stopping this demon ruled world from becoming a world where the strong eat the weak."

Baron King Messiah created order and control. He made laws and expected his Barons to uphold his laws to allow for peace and thriving communities in governmental lands. Anyone who bowed to his rule was awarded with good lives and enriched situations. He governed as best as he could to create a world for demons to live in harmony. "I don't like him either, but no one can replace him. Once he's gone..." Then no where would ever be safe again, that much was very certain. "That... doesn't concern me." Ophelia admitted quietly. "I have an order, I'm not allowed to not follow it."

"I guess... I'll just stay here until you're done." Celeste decided, "if-if Baron Pierce doesn't mind of course!" He shook his head, what was one more fugitive? "No Celeste, it will be an honor to have you here." It wasn't as though anyone up in Heaven would miss her. Her parents were busy with their retirement and Raphael and Lilith with their children. Gabriel was King, so he had his hands full. Of course, Baron King Messiah never expressedly forbid Celeste from coming to earth and she was technically still the Queen of Hell, which meant that demonkind still needed to obey her. What would happen to earth without its leader? "Someone else will need to step up," Celeste mused. She wasn't up to ruling anything.

"I guess... Doll will take over?" Echo suggested, "people will listen to her. She's not evil, like Messiah and she's well-respected by the other demons." Sonata nodded in agreement, her Mother did seem the best-fit for taking over the throne once Messiah was booted from the position. Dinner ended with dessert, after which Rene showed Celeste to her room. It was nice, plush, comfy, nothing like her room in Heaven, which she liked. "I have a request," Celeste turned to the human servant, who was standing at the ready. "Of course, anything you need!" Rene chirped, demons were demanding, it was nice to serve an angel for a change. "Would you mind getting me some paints? I can pay for it of course." She had no idea how money worked, but Celeste had brought gold with her. "I'll add it to our shopping list," Rene dismissed herself. Celeste went to sleep after that, not having much energy left.

She awoke to a little head peeping up at her in the middle of the night. "A-Alice?!" The angel sat upright, the child scaring her half to death. "I had a bad dream and everyone else's doors were locked." Alice looked down at her feet, hugging her two toys against her chest. Celeste smiled knowingly, "it's okay, I have bad dreams sometimes too. Do you want to come sleep with me?" Alice nodded, clambering onto the bed. She lay under the covers, staring up at the angel. "So you're a faerie?" Celeste asked softly. "No, I'm a human, but Monaka says I'm a faerie." It seemed she was confused. "It's okay, sometimes I don't know what I am either." She pat Alice's head, "Everyone says I'm different things and it makes my head spin. I don't want to be any of those things. I just want to be Alice." Celeste frowned, how many times had she thought that exact same thing?

"So just be Alice then," Celeste whispered, taking her hand and clasping it between her own. Alice looked at Celeste's hand, wondering what she was doing. "You don't have to be anything else, okay?" Alice nodded, closing her eyes, the angel and faerie falling asleep in the company of one another. "Alice!" Rene hissed in the morning, trying not to wake up the sleeping angel. "What are you doing in here you silly girl!" She lifted Alice from the bed, tip toeing out of the room and sighing in relief. Alice rubbed her eyes. "I had a bad dream," Rene shook her head. "You can't go sneaking into the guest rooms, Baron Pierce won't be pleased if he finds out."

"Why don't we do something about it right now?" Ayna asked, looking at her Master. It was late at night now and everyone had fallen asleep. Of course Ayna overheard the news. These people were dangerous, they wanted to kill Baron King Messiah. Ayna wasn't the biggest fan of him, but she knew how much Messiah meant to her master. Anguis has been nothing but kind to her, ever since she had been captured by humans and forced to be a breeding machine for them until she was forced to eat her own eggs to make sure they wouldn't suffer the same fate, her only ray of light was Anguis and Messiah and even her dear brother to one day come and save her. The ghostly demon owed them everything. She wasn't going to let the angels get in the way of that. "Please? We have to stop them!"

Baroness Anguis shook her head, wincing from the pain. She hadn't been torturing Ayna lately, so she was suffering from her own never ending pain for every breath she took. It was a curse she was forced to bear, a curse that only went away when torturing someone else. "I won't betray my word to these people." The Baroness of Agony said simply. "They allowed us to hide here, I won't be an ungrateful host." She placed a letter neatly on the bed, written in black snake ink. "That should suffice. I'm telling Baron Pierce my intentions." The note explained that she and Ayna would leave, and that she planned on telling Baron Messiah everything she knew relevant to his life being in danger. "Why are you telling them your plan?" Ayna asked, confused. Anguis smiled, touching her Baronling's head.

"Because we owe Baron Pierce and his group a lot. This is how I'm showing them thanks." The note would be there and Rene would come find it in the morning after seeing that their room had become vacated. "Do you have your things packed?" Ayna nodded, frowning. She already had everything she needed with her, because it wasn't as if she was the type to own very much either way. "But they're enemies." Ayna narrowed her eyes. "They're dangerous to our current system. Doll King would just go after you after becoming the Baron Queen! She hasn't forgiven you for what you did during the war!" Ayna didn't want that to come to pass. She couldn't allow her Master to die.

But Anguis shook her head. Was she not afraid of Doll King after all? "It'll be okay. We won't allow Baron King Messiah to die. Now, come along, Ayna, we must make it to Paris quickly." She made a face, clearly in pain, grunting as she moved. "M-Master! Here, I'll help you. Let's go together." Ayna wasn't used to moving in her real body, it was weak and frail, but even so, she offered her shoulder to her Master, helping her shuffle along towards Paris in the dead of night. "...Will Alice be okay in her studies?" Ayna asked softly, looking back towards the house that had been their home for the last three months. Anguis nodded, smiling. "It's okay to think of them as friends, Ayna." The Baroness said calmly. "They showed you kindness, so think kindly of them even if we have to kill them." For the sake of the demon world, they would do whatever they needed to to maintain stability and order.

"This is troubling indeed," Baron Pierce contemplated the note that Rene had brought him. Ayna and Anguis had vacated, they intended to tell Baron King Messiah everything. "It seems we'll need to do protect ourselves." He rose from his seat, Rene was with Alice, getting ready for the day, but Baron Pierce needed a prediction. "Knock, knock?" He opened up the door, finding Rene attempting to wrestle Alice into a pretty blue dress. "Oh, Baron Pierce!" Alice ran right to him, buck naked, carrying Dog and Pog. "Good morning to you too," he pat her head. "Now, why don't we let Rene get you dressed?" She squirmed, "Fine," she lifted her arms up, allowing Rene to slip the dress onto her. "Has she not been wearing undies this entire time?" Baron Pierce asked, Rene turning red in the face. "N-no just most of the time. She doesn't like them."

"Alright, well, from today on she needs to wear them." He had not realized that Alice had been refusing to wear them, how many had she flashed when she clambered up the shelves each time? "No," Alice refused, crossing her arms. Baron Pierce knelt down to her height, taking one of her hands in his. "Alice, it's important as a growing young lady that you wear them. Alright?" She hesitated, shaking her head. "I don't like them," Alice crossed her arms, throwing a fit. "I don't want them!" Baron Pierce frowned, "are they really that bad?" He asked, holding up a pair, cringing internally. Alice nodded. "Well, Ophie wears them, Sonta, and Rene too." She furrowed her brow, "Really?" Baron Pierce nodded, "Echo wears them as well. Don't you want to be like them?"

"Fine," she huffed, taking them from him and putting them on backwards. "Sh-should we tell her?" Rene asked, but Baron Pierce shook his head. "No, it's enough that we managed to get them on." He rose to his full height once more, "Alice, I need a favor from you." She nodded, looking up at him. "What is it?" Baron Pierce lifted her into his arms. "I need a vision." She tilted her head to the side, "what kind of vision?" Baron Pierce tapped her nose, "a future one." She nodded, "Where do I find one?" Baron Pierce placed her down on the bed. "Hold my hand," he said softly, Alice took it, her eyes beginning to grow. She went limp, Baron Pierce easing her down carefully. "What sort of vision do you need?" Rene asked nervously, Baron Pierce merely smiling at her. "It is none of your concern, please tell the others to prepare to leave. We'll be taking a short vacation."

"There, there. I knew you were going to come," why was he here? Why was Baron Messiah looking at her like that? How could he see her? "You see, I just had to find a seer of my own, a seer whose powers were a bit more... developed." There was someone wearing the mask of a lamb behind him. Alice didn't understand. "I had her intercept your vision and it was only a matter of time until you had one." He placed his hands on her shoulders, Alice jerked backwards. "Please, take a message to Pierce for me." She tried to extricate herself from him, but his grip only tightened. "Tell him he has twenty four hours to bring me the angel, or I will slaughter all of his people and force him to watch."

While Baron Pierce went to gather Alice, the three Baronlings were put in a room together to wait, with nothing to do but to discuss what would be going on. Calciferous was clearly agitated, he was grinding his teeth and glaring at the wall, as if doing that would solve anything. "I should have known. Once a traitor always a traitor." He still couldn't get over the fact that Ayna and Polaire had betrayed the Tower Society all those years ago, leading to the organization's demise. "Should never have trusted them. Why did we trust them?" Sonata shook her head, a dark look in her eyes. "Well, Ayna is a Baron Candidate, so we can just kill her next time we see her." She explained with a slight tilt of the head. "Ayna's pretty weak, she can't defend herself if we can find her real body."

Ayna Anranrara was the most mysterious of the candidates. While Jensen Thrush and Lancer were busy spending the entire time doing charity work and avoiding conflict, while candidates like Feodth or Polaire aggressively tried to pick fights with other pairs, Ayna always stayed out of the limelight, never getting herself involved in anything. She still only had ten points, she never lost or gained even a single point throughout the entire event so far. "I'm sure it'll be fine." But maybe it wouldn't be. Ophelia knew very well that things were dangeorous. "We need to tell Celeste to return to Heaven, it's too dangerous for her to be here right now." There was no way Baron King Messiah wouldn't gun for her now that she was here. They all knew very well that Ayna and Baroness Anguis would even tell him about her arrival, wouldn't they?

"And my brother, he's probably-" Well for now she didn't have the pained reaction informing her that her brother was dying, so at least she had that going for her. Laertes was unharmed for the time being. Perhaps he was captured but at least not in any mortal danger. Was there a way to get a message to him without alerting Baron King Messiah? Ophie didn't know, but she had to try. Baron Pierce came then, with Alice and Rene. Alice was asked to enter a vision, and so she went until she eventually awoke, everyone anxious to hear what the vision was about.

It was with a cold pit in her stomach when she realized what the vision's contents were. "So he wants the angel." Ophelia gulped, her stomach twisting and turning. Celeste really was in danger then. He already knew everything, it was too late now to change it. "Then I'll go talk to Celty." She left the room, her wings feeling like foreign objects on her back. She knocked on Celeste's room, then entered. "You have to go back to Heaven." She said simply. "Baron King Messiah knows you're here, and he'll stop at nothing to take you." Her crimson eyes glimmered with emotion as she saw her beloved Queen. "I'll go get my brother, and we'll escape, but you have to go to Heaven and wait for us there." Celty was too important to lose, too important to risk.

Celeste was sitting in her guest room when Ophelia came bounding in, seeming panicked. "Leave? Already? But I just got here?" She drummed her fingers against her thigh in thought. "I don't want to go back," Celeste whispered. "They just... treat me different." She shook her head, "but if King Messiah is after me, I guess I don't have a choice." She stood, taking off her pajamas and putting on her dress. "Ophie," Celeste placed her hands lightly on Ophelia's shoulders. "I'm taking Echo with me. I want you to bring that little girl, okay?" Celeste had been able to sense it in her of course, they all could now that Alice's powers had awoken. "I want to prove to my brothers that I can do this much at least. Promise me, you'll bring her, okay?" If Messiah got his hands on an Oracle, he would be impossible to take down.

Alice was shaking, she was afraid. She had never had someoen intercept a vision before, she didn't like it. "I don't want them anymore," Alice whimpered, it was clear that she was upset. That was one emotion she had no trouble with. "It's alright," Baron Pierce attempted to reassure her, but if Messiah had his own Seer that could intercept visions,t hey would need to figure out how to stop him. "Maybe... wave length?" Echo suggested. "I don't know about all of this seeing stuff, but maybe you can tune it so Messiah's Seer can't operate on your frequency?" Alice sniffled, wiping her eyes. "She doesn't know what that means," Cal pointed out. Alice had never seen a radio before, much less knew how frequencies worked.

"We're going to try and keep it from happening again, don't worry." Baron Pierce attempted to soothe Alice's worries. Her stomach growled, she was hungry. "Why don't we get you some breakfast? I think we could all do with some food." They were relying on Ophie to convince Celeste to return to Heaven. "Does that mean Ophie is gonna leave us too?" Sonata asked, clearly worried. Everything was going downhill so fast. "Unfortunately, I think Ophelia will have to leave for the time being, for the sake of our safety." Baron Pierce did not want to have to leave everything behind, he would simply have to prove his loyalty to Messiah once more. He placed Alice in her seat, she was still stressed from her experience in her vision.

"Try to eat something," Sonata said softly, "okay?" Alice nodded, picking up her fork. "Okay," she said quietly, not releasing her grip on Dog as she stabbed her eggs with a fork. She wanted to eat, but her stomach was flip flopping, she felt as though something bad was going to happen. Alice swallowed hard and reached for her juice. "You don't think he's going to come here, do you?" She asked worriedly, not wanting to see Baron Pierce again. "No, I'll go to him, don't worry." Baron Pierce tried to assure her, but Alice was still afraid.

Ophelia, the angel knight, had a mission to do. Well, really, she had two missions. First, she needed to go find Laertes and try to get him to safety. If that was impossible, she would at least report on his status so they would know. He saved her many times though, so she felt a duty to do the same for her own younger brother. Next, she needed to get Alice to Heaven and take her to safety. According to the magic spell binding the siblings together, Laertes was still in the Eiffel Tower. The building loomed tall in the horizon as Ophelia stared up. No one knew she was here, she was cloaked in her typical invisibility magic. If there was ever a time to be glad to have specialized in invisibility magic, this was certainly that time.

Magically hidden from sight, she snuck in after Doll, who was entering the building after doing her rounds of the city. She was on patrol, no doubt trying to track down the terrorists, the former Generals of Hell, though only four of the seven Generals were really taking part. Zeal was long dead from the war, Pray was missing, and Blithe was in Magnolia, living the life. She made sure to float so that not even her footsteps could be heard. Doll had no idea she was here - or if she did suspect something, the demon didn't give her away. Ophelia floated through the hallways, knowing where she needed to do. The servant quarters were above ground in a chamber high off the ground, so she would have to take the elevator up. "I'm going to the eighth floor." Doll whispered, muttering to herself as she entered. Eighth? "The servant's quarters are one floor down, so the stairs..." Ophelia paled, knowing that she was found out. It was probably silly to expect to be able to get around Doll either way.

So together they made their way up to the eighth floor, then Doll turned down a hallway, her foot pointing in the direction of the downwards stairwell. Ophelia flew off in that direction. She had to act quickly, she needed to get Laertes out safely. She crept down the stairs, passing by a demon trying to drink coffee but never actually ingesting any. "Tastes horrible." He muttered, pushing his glasses up. "Why did Messiah ever persuade me to drink this infernal thing." He shook his head, gritting his teeth. Then Ophelia froze as she reached the serving floor. There were snakes lining the floor, leading up to a room. What was going on? Was Anguis already acting before Ophelia could react? Well, not if the silver angel could do something about it.

She flew towards the door the snakes were leading to. Where was Laertes? She flew into the room, finding that it looked remarkably normal. There was a bed, a dresser, a window with a beautiful view of the city below. But there was no brother here. There was a slam then as the door closed shut behind her, the snakes hissing to signal that they smelled her. "Oh, Ophelia, of course you would come here." Anguis smiled, tapping the glass window of the locked door. "Ayna knew you were coming, so I decided to wait." She broke her invisibility, glaring at the traitors. "After we so kindly allowed you into our home." Anguis shrugged, narrowing her eyes into a dangerous squint. "We could have been friendly, had you and your kind not chosen to try to lay a hand on Messiah. He might be a bit silly, but he needs someone like me to watch his back."

Where was Laertes? Why wasn't he here? Was he already caught? If so, why hadn't her signal went off in warning? "I don't think you have time to worry about your dear brother right now." Anguis whispered. "Sorry, Ophelia, I have nothing personal against you, but I won't just let Messiah's life be in danger." She pressed a button. Baron King Messiah was on the way.

|| Fight Song|| Rachel Platten ||

Alice wasn't feeling well, her head throbbed and her stomach ached. Her vision was blurry and when she tried to walk, she felt nauseous. "Alice?" Baron Pierce asked, noticing that she was trying to climb up the shelves, but hesitating. "What's wrong?" He rose, sweeping her off of her feet to feel her forehead. "You're burning up, come, let's go to bed." Alice shook her head, "I'm not tired!" She whimpered, hugging Dog tightly. Pog was still sitting on the shelf, who Baron Pierce quickly rescued. "I'm going to call the Doctor," Alice shook her head, she didn't want to see Jacob. "It's alright, you probably just have a cold." She didn't feel like she had a cold though, she felt dizzy and weak.

Baron Pierce placed her in bed, tucking the blanket up around her. "There, there, you'll be alright." He pat her head, dimming the lights. Alice felt suddenly sleepy, maybe it was the fever? She used to get sick a lot when she was with the human trader's. Her body was weak, they would say, she wasn't going to last much longer. They would never waste medicine on her, because she wasn't seen as valuable. Too small for manual labor or breeding, too clumsy to teach tricks to, too ugly for pleasure. Alice closed her eyes, when she opened them, Jason was there, wearing his doctor coat and pushing his glasses up his nose. "What seems to be the problem Alice?" He asked, his voice gentle. Alice whimpered in response, uncertain what was wrong herself.

"Can you sit up?" She nodded, sitting up slowly, her head spinning. "I'm going to listen to your lungs, okay?" She nodded tentatively, not wanting him to come close. Baron Pierce stood on the other side of her, watching, like a pillar of support. He listened to her lungs and took her temperature, then stuck a swab in her throat. Alice coughed, "no!" He pulled it out quickly, "this will give us the results in five minutes. Here, have a candy, you've been so good." He gave her a candy that felt cold in her mouth and made her throat tingle. "Does that feel better?" She nodded, wondering what was inside of it. "Dog wants one too," Jacob laughed. "Dog can have one too," he placed another candy on the bed. Jacob and Baron Pierce spoke while Alice lay back down, waiting for the test to be ready.

"Well, look at that, it's positive." Jacob held up the test, "it looks like Alice has the flu." Flu? What was that? Was she going to die? "What do we have to do for it?" Baron Pierce asked, petting her head. "Antibiotics, they'll upset her stomach though, so she needs to eat with them." He gave Baron Pierce a pink bottle with thick liquid inside. "It looks gross," Alice wrinkled her nose, she didn't want to take that stuff. "Well, you'll need it it if you want to get better." The demons walked outside, Baron Pierce dimming the lights once more. Alice stared out the window, wondering if the flu would go away, or if she would feel like this forever.
