No fuss, no muss; Abby tends to dress like the delinquent kid off a bad 90's sitcom. Most of her wardrobe is second hand, and so retro it might actually be cool if the grime wasn't real. Flannel and band T's are about as close to a cohesive style as Abby attempts to pull, and she is very partial to jeans. Dresses don't live in this closet--ever.
ALOOF â SARCASTIC â RAW
Tenacious and sarcastic, Abby Jarvis is a survivor through and through. Sheâs exceedingly blunt, and is the kind of person who doesnât take or give bullshit. If she doesnât like you, sheâll tell you to your face, and what others consider to be a bad attitude, she considers honesty. Abby is also however, doggedly loyal to those few she is close with, and would be willing to move mountains for them. Fiercely independent, Abby learned a long time ago not to rely on other people, and the idea of depending on someone or asking for help is extremely adverse to her. She does however, have an explosive temper when riled, and she can be like a dog with a bone when something matters to her. Despite her assertion that she wants to stay out of other peopleâs problems, Abby has a bad habit of stepping into them when she thinks someoneâs getting pushed around. Itâs possible this stems from her disgust of bystanders, and make herself walk away from someone in a pinch without feeling like a hypocrite.
In many ways, Abby is self-destructive. Compulsively distant and brandishing some serious trust issues, Abby has a problem making deep and meaningful connections with others. This is particularly true with adults, and has resulted in a number of burned bridges and missed opportunities. Abbyâs constant willingness to fight and throw herself into dangerous situations also arguably borders on suicidal, and has worried more than one school counselor in the past. If Abby was asked to describe herself, and she felt compelled to answer, sheâd say she was a drifter at heart. Her idea of happiness consisting of complete freedom, an open road, and an old school Harley she could patch up herself and always keep moving.
Abby Rae Jarvis had the unfortunate luck of being a broken condom baby to a mother who was more interested in feeding her crack habit than raising a child. The fact her father was Ares, god of war and slumming on earth at the time, was the wilted cherry on top. Abby spent the first few years of her life in a prolonged state of neglect by her crack head mother and her string of equally addicted boyfriends. The fact that Abby even managed to survive four years in that house was a miracle unto itself, as her mother was barely sober enough to remember to feed her most nights, and had a bad habit of lashing out physically or locking her away in small dark places when Abby cried from hunger or anything else. Little Abby might have died in that house, severely malnourished and neglected as she was, if not for a nosy neighbor spying what she thought was a rabid animal trying to claw its way out of the basement window and called animal control. Abby doesnât really remember the deranged escape attempt, except for the odd surge of strength and fierce unwillingness to die.
From there, Abby was taken by child protective services, and periodically bounced from different foster homes for the next ten years. Some of the foster parents were kind but indifferent, others looked at her and the other kids in their homes as glorified meal tickets, and yet still others proved to be worse than the home CPS took her from in the first place. These homes especially, Abby will not talk about unless forced, and getting her to talk about her past in general is like pulling teeth. At thirteen, Abby had become jaded and closed off to the world, angry most of the time and highly distrustful of any kind of authority figure. Even among her peers, Abby was aloof, and there were only a select few she considered herself close to.
After the last home sheâd lived in had been evacuated for the foster mother attempting to use some of the children in her care as drug runners, Abby was shipped off to yet another new home, but this time was different. No crappy two two bedroom apartment infested with cockroaches this time, but a Doctor's home. Clean, respectable, middle class people doing their part to care for some of the less fortunate children of Waco County. It had all seemed like a dream at first, Abby let her guard down...and it proved the most harrowing experience she survived yet, leaving scars that have never truly healed.
As a young teen, Abby was no stranger to alcohol or the local bar scene, often sneaking out to engage in such illicit activities as underage drinking there. She also tended to get into fights with her hot temper and smart mouth, and the night she met her father was no different. A part of Abby simply feels more alive and oddly at peace when fighting, her style wild and erratic, though surprisingly effective. It is the only time in her life she feels in control, and that high is more addictive than any drug. Either by chance or design, Ares happened to be in the same bar that night, recognizing his own godly essence in her as he watched the fight. After that night, Ares approached his daughter and was met with mixed feelings. When Ares found the conditions in which his daughter was living, he was ashamed...and then there was blood. Abby helped.
After the situation was dealt with, Ares push to relocate Abby somewhere he knew she'd be safe. The idea of leaving her foster sister Emma in particular was distressing, but with some cajoling from both Emma and Ares added to her enhanced strength growing harder to control, Abby eventually agreed it was the safest option. Ares quite easily managed to whisk Abby out of the foster system, and placed her within Legacy Academy where sheâs about to finish her final year of high school. Although in a better place than she was four years ago, Abby continues to be closed off, having few confidants, and is without a clear road-map for the future.
- The Glare: It takes talent to have resting murder face...
Restless: Abby is never still, something is always moving around, usually her hands.
Horribly Out-of-Date: Whether from the thrift store surfing for her formative years, or just general lack of interest, Abby is way out of touch with modern tech. She owns a walkman...and not ironically.

TEAM ROLE:
Brawn
RELATIONSHIP WITH GODLY PARENT:
Their relationship is still strained, and though Abby doesnât exactly trust her father, she does recognize that heâs trying to do right by her in his own way. Neither are particularly expressive with words (except perhaps when cursing), but there is a quiet bond there that they both grudgingly accept, is not acknowledge.
HOBBIES:
Boxing
Swordplay
Reading
AMBITIONS:
After a tragedy Abby couldn't prevent, Emma killed herself. Wesley Tate has promised to help bring her back if she helps him win the Agon.
FEARS:
*Claustrophobia: Before she was taken away by child protective services, she was severely neglected, and was often locked away in small spaces, like closets or cupboards, for several days at a time. She gets antsy in enclosed areas and will act violently and irrationally if she is forced into smaller spaces.
*Being Helpless: Abby has spent more time than most at the complete mercy of others, and those situations have rarely ended well for her. To put it politely, Abby is a control freak, and when she is put in a situation where she has absolutely no control or is immobilized, she does not handle it well.
*Bathtubs: Under no circumstances will so go near them. She will only use showers, and even then only the kind without the tubs.
*Losing Herself to the Rage: Abby gets a high from fighting; giving into that rage. Some days she's afraid of what she's turning into, or who she might hurt when the beast inside her takes hold of the reins.
STRENGTHS:
Hand to Hand Combat:
Weapons or not, Abby can do a lot of damage with her fists. In the foster homes Abby grew up in, the weak were eaten alive, and one had to fight for every scrap they got. It was an environment that honed a street style of fighting that in based more on instinct than any kind of formal instruction, but there is a lot of boxing influence in her style.
Melee Weaponry:
Abbyâs skill with a blade makes her a daunting foe to most other competitors. Sheâs been top of her class two years running in swordplay, and she is lethally proficient with most weapons.
Enhanced Physical Strength and Speed:
Physically, Abby is one of the strongest students at Legacy Academy, with only the children of Zeus really capable of besting her in that department. Her swiftness is impressive, though no match for that of a child of Hermes. It does however, give her a lethal edge at sword play.
WEAKNESSES:
Bloodlust:
When Abby is in the midst of a real fight, thereâs a monster that stirs inside her; fed by years of pain and abuse. Itâs hungry, dying to shake off Abbyâs leash of morality in order to devour everything in itsâ path, regardless of friend or foe. When Abby fights, she feels better, freer even; and the beast floats ever closer to the surface.
Hot Headed:
Itâs no secret Abby has a hot temper. This can make her rash sometimes, and easy to manipulate for those who know how to bait her.
Crappy People Skills:
Abby has a reputation for not playing well with others. While this is not completely deserved, she has a habit of rubbing people the wrong way, and has never made an effort to be diplomatic with her words.
Most students at Legacy know to give Abby Jarvis a wide berth. At the top of her class in swordplay, and holding an impressive record in melee combat matches, Abby is known as one of the powerhouses of the senior class. Abby's loose control of her temper however, has turned that success into notoriety, as few are willing to the fierce rage she unleashes with lethal efficiency in the ring. So frightening is her blood-lust in fact, that rumor has it, she killed a man before attending Legacy; it remains unconfirmed of course. When not fighting, Abby's demeanor runs much cooler, but that aloofness has won her few friends, and while a challenge to some, it is an effective deterrent for many.
FAMILY:
