Fears
His Power || Having mind control would be awesome to anyone else, but Drake sees it more as a curse. His ability makes it easy for him to do wrong when all he wants to do is help. He doesn't want to use it for selfish reasons, but it's hard to find good ways to use it.
Leaving Laurel || After his mother's death last year, money has become tough for his family and his father has mentioned that he might have to leave Laurel to help support his father and siblings. Drake doesn't want to leave, but he may need too.
Not Having a Purpose || Being at Laurel, everyone is so talented and gifted. Drake feels like he's just a plain person besides his power. He doesn't know what he wants to do with his life and worries he'll just be a average.
Secrets
His Power || While everyone is aware that Drake is one of the superpowered students at Laurel, he's been very tightlipped about what his ability is. He worries people won't trust him if they find out that he has the ability to control people.
First Kiss || Super embarrassing, but he's never been kissed, outside of his family. He's had plenty of crushes and dates, but has never gotten to that point.
{ Introvert, Compassionate, Optimistic, Sensitive, Insightful }
A classic boy-next door type, Drake is a total sweetheart. His parents raised him to be helpful and friendly and Drake strives to reflect these attributes. He's the first to volunteer to help a classmate or teacher out. He isn't outgoing by any means. Drake prefers a small group of close friends versus a 'squad.' Going up and approaching a stranger is terrifying for him so most of his friends either approached him or he met through another friend.
One of the most noticeable things you'll see about Drake is that he's always smiling. A frown rarely graces his face as he always has a huge grin. He's been described as 'too idealistic, too optimistic, just too happy.' He never understood what people meant by that since being happy is suppose to be a positive thing. Drake has had bad days too though. Criticism is the only thing that can really bring his mood down. He doesn't like his faults being pointed out and it causes him to retreat into isolation. He hates being around people when he's upset. Drake doesn't want to bring the mood down.
Drake likes to think he has above average intelligence. He has always loved learning about new things. Drake likes to think that intelligence is the ultimate superpower. He looks at problems from different angles, wanting to see both sides to the argument and how one idea could be improved by another. Drake thinks deeply, contemplating multiple thoughts. He can become a bit of a space cadet when he's in one of his thoughtful states, but that's when he gets his best thinking in.

For having a crazy awesome superpower, Drake has a super lame origin story. He was born to high school sweethearts, Allison James and Ashton Darby, who married each other after they graduated from college. She was a nurse and he ran a family-owned and operated plumbing business. Drake is the oldest of three. He played with younger brother, Cameron, and sister, Ashley. Both parents spent any time they weren't at work with their children. Drake grew up loved and taken care of by his family. He wasn't the richest, but he was rich in love and happiness.
Life was pretty easy for Drake. He did well in school and was a decent baseball player in elementary school. It was a typical day in sixth grade and the teacher decided to make Drake an example for why students shouldn't be talking. Drake was so embarrassed by the attention and wished for the teacher to stop. Suddenly, she did. It was an odd sight. Mid-sentence, she stopped talking almost frozen. It got freaky when Drake 'wished' for her to take them all out to recess ten minutes early. When she did exactly as he thought, Drake knew he found something amazing. The first thing he was tell his best friend, Charlie. After proving his power, Charlie told him he was a superhero like Spiderman, high praise considering Spiderman was his childhood hero and idol. Charlie began to use Drake. He'd get him to change the teacher's lesson plans and to get free things from stories. Drake didn't like doing it, but Charlie was his best friend. One day, Drake finally said no to him. Charlie went off, calling him selfish and saying he'd tell everyone Drake's secret. Of course, no one believed him, but his supposed best friend's betrayal left a deep mark on Drake. His power became a secret between him and his family.
Charlie's outburst didn't go unnoticed by Laurel Academy. They sent an invitation for Drake to attend which was astonishing to his whole family. Laurel was a school that was impossible to get into unless you're talented or wealthy. Drake joined, excitedly. His first year was fun, especially meeting other powered people like him. Drake kept to his group for the most part unless he found someone friendly in the other cliques at school.
This will be Drake's first year as Yearly. When summer came around, he'd go home to visit his family. His siblings loved hearing about Laurel. Both were trying to become talented at something to get the chance to attend. It wasn't until last summer when his mother died in a brutal car accident. A guy with a fast car decided that slowing down wasn't worth it. He took a wonderful mother from this world. Drake remains strong for his siblings' sake, but he choose to stay over the summer at Laurel to ignore the hole left by his mother's death, especially since his father said he might have to leave Laurel.
