Arella sat on the bus keeping to herself the entire ride to Lawton Wood Summer Camp. This was going to be the first time she had ever attended one and she could already tell she may not like it in the end. After all, she didn't know anyone who was going to be there, at least from who she could tell was on the bus. The red head just wished her grandmother didn't force her parents to have her go to this stupid camp. Arella had better plans for the summer then spending it with bratty teenagers she didn't even know.
Once the bus arrived at the camp she climbed off following the other teens. The young female looked up at the wooden sign with the words Lawton Camp and let out a frustrating sigh as she slung her backpack over her left shoulder. The female took a deep breath before making her way under the sign and officially onto the camp ground.

Caius spent the entire bus ride doing three things. Listening to his I-Pod, chewing gum, and staring blankly out the window. In the back of his mind he still couldn't believe that this was happening. He could have been practicing with his band, getting somewhere with what he wanted his career to be. But instead he had to spend the entire summer trapped in camp with people he didn't even know, or really want to get to know. His parents were only making him go because they thought he should make some friends, that he spent too much time focusing on music. Well at least he had something he loved to focus on, unlike them. They were trying to make him go their route, barely getting enough money to get by, but being safe, consistent. They didn't want him on the roller coaster ride that was being a musician. But that wasn't going to change and they knew that.

When the bus stopped he picked up his guitar case and backpack from the seat next to him, a nice assurance that nobody else would be sitting there, and got off with the rest of the teens. His backpack was heavy, probably due to the entire case of white Ultra Monsters that he had stuffed in there, along with some snacks and candy. Stuff to get him by for the as long as he could. His parents had also given him one of their credit cards, their way of trying to make it up to him, he could buy whatever he wanted from the general store that they had here.

Caius wordlessly helped the adults unload the bus, for the sheer reason that he wanted to get his stuff and get away from all the teens as quickly as possible. Once that was done to grabbed his suitcase and took off into the campgrounds. Hoping that they got their cabin assignments soon. He wanted to explore, find a nice quiet hidden spot that he could call his own, and spend as much of the summer as he possibly could there.

No Service. Raquel read the two words in top right corner of her iPhone 5s to herself for what felt like the millionth time in the last hour. She couldn't call anyone. Couldn't text. The only thing her phone was good for at this point was listening to music and playing apps. Which is exactly what she did. Laying her head against the glass window she put her playlist on shuffle and listened to the random songs that came sounding through her Beats earbuds. She played Candy Crush until she ran out of lives and then switched to Flappy Bird as she waited out the time until she regained lives to resume playing Candy Crush.

She repeated this playing cycle between the two games until the bus finally came to a stop when they arrived at their destination. Once the person sitting beside her got up and move out into the aisle Raquel stood up taking a moment to stretch. They had been sitting for hours and it felt good being able to stretch her legs. She noticed a guy seated all the way at end of bus fast asleep. No else looked like there were going to wake him up so Raquel decided to walking to the back of the bus. Placing a hand on the guy's shoulder she gently shook him, "Hey. We're at the camp." Stepping aside as the attractively tall guy got up putting the strap of his bag over his head and across his neck he gave her a simple "Thanks", as he walked by her as he walked up the aisle. "No hay problema."

Getting off the bus behind him she stood amongst the other teens and several adults as everyone's luggage was unloaded. When she spotted her bags she grabbed them and walked over to where she saw people huddled by a bulletin board. On the board was a piece of paper with a list of names and cabin numbers. There were two people to every cabin which meant she would be sharing. Layla Grey. Lord. I hope she not a bitch. Raquel thought as she found her name as well as the name of her summer roommate on the paper.

Turning from the bulletin she walked across the camp grounds until she found her cabin. Could be worst, she thought to herself as she walked into the empty cabin. From what she could tell she had made it to the cabin first. Which meant dibs. It took about fifteen or so minutes for Raquel to unpack all of her belongings and when she was done she wasn't exactly sure what she was suppose to do next. She had never done the whole summer camp experience thing before. When it had become clear that her mother was sending her whether she liked it or not she had promised herself that she would give it chance. However, the idea of an entire summer without internet and cell reception was just not her idea of the best summer ever.

She sat in quiet boredom tapping her tropical leopard print nails against the wooden bed frame as she attempted to wait for her roommate to arrive. Succumbing to the boredom that she felt in attempt to find something to do she left her cabin and went to see the sights. As she walked she braided her hair into a side french braid that hung down past her bust. It was a nice summer day out. Hot but not humid and there was a nice breeze blowing. Raquel wore a simple all white flowy crop top that left the tattoo on her side visible and a pair of denim laced shorts. Two light necklaces decorated her neck, a bracelet on her right wrist and a pair of sandals.

Earbuds in her ears, music turned up as loud as it could possibly go, bare legs crossed with left leg bouncing along to the beat of the music that was playing from her cell phone, the brunette hummed along with the song that was playing. Every now and then she'd get complaints from other kids who were on the bus with her, but she just shrugged them off and continued on with what she was doing. After all, even though she was forced to go to this stupid summer camp, she still had to work on her own music.

Once the bus pulled up to the camp she let out a relieved sigh, happy that she was finally going to be able to get off this stuffy bus and out into the fresh air. The young female pushed through the crowds to get to her things in the back of the bus. Before making her way over towards the room board she checked on Sera, her beautiful red fender guitar. After finding that she was alright, she closed the case and continued making her way towards the board. After scrolling down the list she noticed that she had been the only one in the entire camp who didn't have a roommate. Well at least that is until late comers show up.

The young brunette smiled and shrugged her shoulders as she began making her way through the crowds once more and into cabin fourteen. Leaving the door wide open for the fresh air, she claimed the bed by the window and began unpacking. Once she was finished she pulled Sera out and began strumming the strings as she sang along to the original song she had been working on for the past month.

Leah glanced around the bus. Most of the teenagers were looking at their phones or sleeping. Leah didn't own a phone, never had. She leaned against the window and looked up at the sky outside. This was as long away from home she had ever been and she felt great. Everyone else on the bus seemed to be dreading the place they were going, but Leah was quite positive about it. No matter what, it couldn't be worse than home.

The bus finally stopped and she tried to get off, but a boy bumped into her. "Watch where you going.. redneck" he hissed before pushing her aside and jumping out of the bus. Was it really that obvious where she was from? Leah followed carefully behind him, trying not to let the words hurt her. He was probably just having a bad day. She briefly helped getting the others luggage out of the bus, then she grabbed her own suitcase and followed the crowd to a bulletin board with names on it. After letting everyone else look first, she finally found her own name. "Leah Anderson and Summer Makinna," she whispered to herself. Summer was a nice name. She wondered if the girl would be nice too.

Leah started to walk, but then realized she didn't know where she was going. The only cabins she could see from here had the numbers 11, 12 and 13 on them. Hers was number 7. She glanced around the camping site. The place was beautiful. She wanted to go find her cabin as soon as possible so she could start exploring the area. She looked around to find someone she could ask for help. There was a big shirtless guy talking to some pretty girl. Then there was another blonde girl not far from them. She didn't want to ask the two people talking. The guy looked a bit intimidating. She decided to ask the blonde girl who was on her own. She looked like someone from the big city and Leah couldn't help feel a little nervous. She took a deep breath and instinctively grabbed the cross she was wearing around her neck. She might hate talking to strangers, but she wasn't gonna let it show. She walked over to the girl who was dressed nicely. Leah couldn't help compare the blondes outfit to her own worn-out dress and old boots. "Do you know where I can find cabin 7?" she asked with her thick Southern accent and smiled.

Layla Grey

Image Layla spent most of the bus ride listening to music and hadn't bothered to look at any of the others on the bus. ''God, I hate buses''she thought and continued looking out the window. there is no way she would have survived the ride without her Ipod. it was the old, but it had served her well.

Once the bus finally arrived at the camp, Layla grabbed her luggage(Mainly just clothes and her back up pair of headphones) and made her way over to the notice board to check her cabin pairings with her headphones still on.She found her name and her cabin pairing ''Raquel Pierce, Wonder what shes like?''. On the way to the cabin, she couldn't help but notice the lake. ''Didn't Know there was a lake here'' she thought. At the cabin Layla took out her headphones and put her Ipod in her bag. Her foster parents wanted her to make loads of friends, but Layla didn't see that happening. ''I wont be here long, it will be over soon. I hope''.

Layla had gotten up early that morning as she had forgotten to pack and she decided to try and get some sleep. The bed in the camp wasn't as uncomfortable as Layla had imagined. ''Maybe I could sleep all through this stupid camp''. . But she couldn't with the sunlight coming in through the window. She decided she had better get acquainted with at some of the others.
''wonder if anyones worth talking to'' she said to herself, as she was leaving the cabin. 'I just hope they don't
ask questions''

Image Layla wandered aimlessly around the camp, she was easily bored and not having internet access didn't help. She still hadn't spoken to anyone since she got there and was starting to regret leaving her headphones in the cabin.''why would my parents do this to me'' she thought ''This is the most boring camp ever''

Layla didn't like hot days, they made her feel tired and the sun gave her a headache. ''God, I hate the sun'' she sighed as she made her way around camp. looking for a tree or something to shade her from the sun. She found a tree and sat under it for a few minutes until she spotted a figure not too far away from her. It was a red haired girl on a skateboard. Layla considered speaking to the girl. ''she might be friendly'' thought Layla. ''Then again, she might be horrible. only one way to find out I guess.''

Layla approached the girl carefully and tried to seem less socially awkward than she usually is. ''Hey'' she called ''I'm Layla''.

Seeing as how it was a beautiful day out, Stevie thought it would be a good idea to go outside and play her acoustic for a little while. She always seemed to enjoy playing her guitar outside, it was nice and calming to her. The young brunette stood up from the bed and walked outside, her red acoustic in hand then sat down on one of the empty benches.

After she made herself comfortable on the bench, she began strumming the guitar in an even pace and began singing along with the tune she was playing. The female glanced over at the notebook she had sitting beside her every now and then, trying to place different lyrics places and switch things around to make the song sound complete.

"Hey, I'm Layla," Someone called, stopping Evie's ride through the camp. She paused and looked around, spotting a girl with jet-black hair. She gave a small wave and pushed over to her.

"Hey." She responded. "I'm Evie."

The girl looked alright enough. Well, if she was calling Evie over to say high, she couldn't be that bad. She also looked like the kind of person who's forte started with 'In' and ended with 'ternet,' A.K.A. someone with the same taste in entertainment as Evie. She decided to make a sarcastic joke out of it."

"Hey, I was actually looking for the tallest tree around here. I'm trying to get service," she pulled out her already half dead -- oh no, only a few more hours to cram as much music as possible -- cell phone, and said "But I suppose you could climb a mountain and not get so much as a beep of internet." She gave a little grin, but on the inside, she was seriously bricking herself. She wasn't the best at making friends, if it's too hard to guess, so first greetings were not always the best. She wasn't very good at starting conversations, let alone starting an acquaintance all by herself. But hey, there's a chance -- a very, very slim chance -- that she might get the joke. Evie sighed inwardly.

I'm an idiot.

Stevie stopped playing and looked up towards a bright red head and a jet black haired girl. She noticed that the red head bumped into the other girl when she was on her skateboard. Stevie quickly got up, leaving Sera and her notebook on the bench and made her way over towards them. Of course even though she didn't know either one of them she still wanted to know if they were alright, because if not then they'd need some help. "Um, sorry to intrude, but I just saw what happened and I was wondering if you guys were okay?" she questioned in concern.

Image The girl made her way over towards Layla and introduced herself as Evie, she seems friendly enough Layla thought . Most teenagers at Layla's school found her weird and they usually just ignored her. She didn't talk to other teenagers often making her extremly awkward around people.
When Evie made a joke, Layla couldn't help grinning ''miss having internet access already?''. Layla smiled ''Me too.''
She was kicking herself, making friends wasn't exactly her strong point. why am I always so awkward.
Layla didnt want to admit it, but she hadn't spoken to anyone since she arrived and the company was nice. ''Cool skateboard, by the way.''

Layla heard a voice call out ''Um, sorry to intrude, but I just saw what happened and I was wondering if you guys were okay?". She turned to see a dark haired girl who looked concerned making her way towards them. ''I think everythings okay here'' Layla replyed. ''I'm Layla, and this is Evie'' She said, gesturing towards Evie.
Maybe this camp wont be as boring as I thought

Stevie smiled after hearing that the two girls were alright and she was just about to make her way back over towards her guitar and pick up where she left off before she heard one of them begin to introduce themselves. "Oh, it's nice to meet you guys, I'm Stevie," she stated with a soft smile as she slid her tanned hands in the back pockets of her jean shorts.

"Do you guys live in town or did you come from the surrounding towns?" she questioned trying to figure out where they came from, not that it really mattered, but it would be nice to see if she was the only one who didn't live in this town.

Image ''I live in a village about two hours away'' Layla stated not really sure why her foster parents had sent her to a camp so far away. It made no sense. Theres plenty of camps near our village she thought. Maybe the point was so she wouldn't risk meeting anyone she knew, lowering the chances of her getting into fights. her foster parents were weird like that.

The camp wasn't as awful as Layla had imagined, it reminded her of when she was a child and used to live with her real parents. She was six and they lived a cabin-like house beside a lake in the middle of the countryside. She didn't know if she missed that life or not. Layla shook the thought out of her head its not worth thinking about it.

''What about you'' Layla asked both Stevie and Evie ''Are you from around here?''.
She was beginning to feel a bit less uncomfortable at this camp than she had been earlier and so far the people seemed friendly. Then again, she hadn't met any Preps or Jocks yet and she knew she was notorious for starting arguments with them. maybe their not that bad she thought even though she wasn't sure.I'll have to wait and see

Evie shrugged.

"You could say so. I'm not anything like half-way across the state, but I'm not a ten minute drive away. I live in a pretty small town, maybe like an hour and a half away, maybe more."

Evie's town was more of a pavement kind of town. Sure, the place had a little park and a few ponds and lakes, but she never really saw any of it. She was always either walking a bunch of dogs or at the town skate park. The place wasn't special, anyway. It was always either bone-dry and 100 degrees out, or soaking you to the bone with rain. It was also the kind of town where everybody has spoken to everybody at least once. Take Arella for example. They weren't really in any classes with each other, but they still interacted with each other (not very friendly, mind you) and they instantly recognized each other upon arrival in camp. At least Evie had someone who also knew what it was like living in that little town.

She shrugged again and turned to Stevie.

"And.... You?"

Stevie nodded her head at the female's words and smiled. "My home is about three hours from here, I live on the beach," she responded. It was nice speaking with others who weren't from this town. She was actually beginning to have a bit of fun speaking with these two girls but she remembered her guitar was left with nobody attending to it. "Sorry, but I have to get back to my guitar, I don't want anyone messing with it or taking off with it," she stated as she began taking off towards her guitar. She lifted Sera back into her arms and sat down on the bench before getting back to playing her music.

Image So far, the people at this camp wasn't any thing like Layla had imagined. Not long after Stevie left, Layla decided that she should also make her way back to her cabin. She turned to Evie ''I'm starting to miss my headphones'' she grinned ''And I had better go and actually meet my roommate, I'll see you around''. With that she left.

They seem cool Layla thought as she made her way back to her cabin. She was starting to feel a bit better about the fact she'd have to spend all summer here. She walked back past the lake and crossed in front of the Cafeteria. On the way back she also passed some cabins that people were staying in and couldn't help but think about the people in them. how many others are staying her she thought. Layla found it easy to start arguments and she knew there was no way she would get along with all of them. Now, which cabin was it again she wondered as she wandered around. Cabin 6 I think.

When Layla got back to her cabin she went straight to her suit case to unpack properly and put on her headphones. Her roommate still wasn't back, but she didn't mind, she had her music to keep her occupied. as she unpacked she looked at the clothes she had brought, There was nothing that really stuck out to her other that the black bikini with skulls on it. Am I ever even going to wear a bikini she thought as she shoved her clothes into a drawer. she wasn't untidy, she just didn't put much effort into keeping things tidy.

Layla sat on the edge of her bed with her sketch pad and began to draw while waiting for her roommate. Layla had always enjoyed drawing and found that it was a great way to express her emotions. The peacefulness of the cabin made it the perfect place to concentrate on her sketch. This camp isn't quite as awful as I thought, hopefully the foods good she grinned to herself.

Image Christian was pretty quiet during their walk to his cabin as he seemed pretty focused on observing the cabin numbers as they passed the cabins. It turned out that Christian wasn't the only late arrival as a blonde passed the two of them holding bags in her hands. Had Raquel known that the bus ride was optional and she could arrive late she would have taken a road trip of sorts before showing up.

"Late arrival." Christian spoke finally giving an answer to her earlier asked question. "I just got-" As Christian stopped talking in mid-sentence Raquel made a small gasping sound as the blonde walking in front of them hit a sign. "Damn. That looked like that hurt." He said speaking the obvious. "No shit. I hope she's okay." She was about to suggest they go check on her when Aiden appeared at the blonde's side. "I guess this is me." She turned around noticing Christian had stopped in front of cabin fifteen. "Am Christian by the way. You know in case you were wondering." Realizing that she had never properly introduced herself she smiled, "Raquel."

She noticed that a bunch of campers were starting to head in the direction of the cafeteria. She hadn't eaten anything since yesterday as she had woken up late today and had to skip breakfast in order to catch the bus. "Looks like it's about to be meal time." She said looking back at Christian as the wind picked up a little sending a chill throughout her body. Her clothing didn't do much in the sense of keeping her warm as she was in only a crop top, a pair of shorts and sandals. "I think I should head to cabin now and change into something a little less summery. Am in cabin six. If you want swing by in a few minutes and we can walk to the cafe together."

With a final smile she left cabin in front of his cabin as she went back to her own. It wasn't a long walk but by the time she got there goosebumps had formed all along her body. Entering her cabin she noticed a girl sitting on the edge of the second bed with headphones on and a sketchpad in hand. So this is my roommate she thought to herself as she closed the cabin door behind her. She seemed to be in a zone of some sort so Raquel didn't interrupt as went to her dresser and began rummaging through the drawers for something warmer to put on.

She took out her ex's red plaid shirt that she had never returned and for whatever reason packed and taken along with her and a pair of ripped style skinny's she went into the bathroom to change as she wasn't sure how her roommate felt about things along the line of nudity and such. Exiting the bathroom a couple of minutes later she figured she should inform her roomie about everyone heading to the cafeteria. Walking over to her she gently tapped her shoulder, "Hey. Am Raquel and I guess if this is your cabin your my summer roomie." She turned walking over to her strappy black heels plopping down on her the edge of her bed she continue talking as she put them on. "Not sure if you knew this or not but everyone seems to be heading over to the cafe. We can got together if you want?" She said getting up and going to the bathroom.

Picking up her dirty clothes she tossed them into the hamper that was in the room before walking back out undoing the french braid she had done early. Running her fingers through her hair as she walked back over to her dresser she got the brush that rested on top of it and gently ran it through her hair. When satisfied with the results it had produced she put on some lip gloss and was ready to go. Turning around to face her roommate she asked "So, you coming with?"

ImageLayla didn't hear the cabin door open with her headphones on. She was engrossed in her drawing and had her music on fairly loud. She didn't notice her roommate until the girl tapped her on the shoulder and said "Hey. Am Raquel and I guess if this is your cabin your my summer roomie.'' Layla removed her headphones, and Raquel continued "Not sure if you knew this or not but everyone seems to be heading over to the cafe. We can got together if you want?"
Layla was relieved that her roommate didn't seem bad. I had better introduce myself she thought.
''Nice to meet you roomie''. She said, casually wrapping her headphones around her iPod. ''I'm Layla ''

Layla considered Raquel's offer to go and get food, she hadn't eaten much since she had arrived and she was hungry. what I could really do with now is a coffee Layla thought to herself.
''Are you coming with?'' Raquel asked. ''I could do with some food'' Layla responded Shoving her iPod in her pocket, she put her shoes on and took a glimpse in the mirror to make sure her eye makeup was still alright since it was the only makeup she ever really bothered with (occasionally she also wore lipstick).

Thank god she's not horrible. Layla thought with relief as she followed Raquel out the cabin door. ''So any idea if the food here is actually edible?'' Layla asked with a grin.

Evie watched as Layla walked away to her cabin, and threw her skateboard down again, mounting it and riding off, with no real destination.

Okay, She swerved left and right, avoiding roots and bushes, Lets see... I've got two non-enemies and one... friendly acquaintance? She performed a simple ollie over an overlying branch and pushed down the trail.

That's not so bad for a first day...

She was about to swerve again when her stomach grumbled.

You know what I could really use? An...

Evie unfortunately didn't get to finish her thought as her board rolled straight into a root, sending her flying off of it. She landed with a tumble, scratching her forearms on a thorn bush and scraping her right knee. As soon as she came to a full stop, she groaned audibly.

'Ow...' She rolled over on her back and flapped her arms out to her side, both with small bits of blood here and there running down to the ground. The scrapes weren't entirely serious, and they only hurt a bit, but Evie didn't bother getting up. She laid on the leaves, letting her skin stain just a bit redder, and groaned again.

'Eh... Screw you, hunger!' She raised a bruised fist to the sky and shook it irritably. Letting it fall lazily to the ground, she stared at the sky, tiredly watching the clouds go by.

'First day of this damn camp,' she muttered, 'And I'm already looking comparable to that dude from Amnesia.'

"Looks like it's about to be meal time." Christian looked around at the campers all walking in the same direction. He hadn't been there long enough to know what was in what direction so he took Raquel's word for it. "I think I should head to cabin now and change into something a little less summery. With nighttime quickly approaching the temperature outside was steadily dropping. Raquel was dressed for the early morning summertime weather but as a frequent camper he knew when you came out to places like these it got darker and far colder than in the cities.

"Cool. I'll stop by after I finish putting my things away." She smiled at him than went on her way to her cabin. Entering his cabin Christan was surprised to see that the cabin was unoccupied. He didn't want to get to excited about this but by the way it was looking either he was by himself for the summer or his roommate was running even later than him. He didn't have time to think about it as he had to get to Raquel's cabin. He threw his bags onto the closest bed to him and unloaded it making sure to leave room just encase it turned out that he did have a roomie.

It didn't take him real long to unpack his things as he just stuffed his already folded clothing into the drawers. He lined up his footwear beside the dresser and but his bathroom supplies in the bathroom. Everything else he had he just put onto of the dresser and he was ready to go. Grabbing his grey sweater he put it on as he exited his cabin. It wasn't a long walk to cabin six and he reached the cabin just as Raquel and a black-hair girl who he assumed was her roommate was exiting the cabin. "Don't tell me your were about to leave without me." He said speaking to Raquel as he approached the two girls. "Hi. Am Christian." He said this time introducing himself to the new girl who he was just meeting.

Layla Grey

Image Layla followed Raquel out of their cabin. It was nearly evening and the temperature was dropping. I should have worn a jumper She thought to herself. Layla looked over towards the lake. The sun was just beginning to set behind the lake and it cast a shine onto it that Layla couldn't help admiring.

Layla noticed a dark haired boy making his way towards the cabin. She wondered who he was and why he was walking towards them. She wondered how many more people were actually staying at the camp. As the boy came closer to them, he spoke to Raquel. "Don't tell me your were about to leave without me." he said. He must know Raquel already Layla thought. He introduced himself as Christian.

''Hey Christian, I'm Layla.''She responded. So far, the people at this camp had surprised Layla, they were nothing like Layla had expected. She had come to camp expecting them to be nasty like the teenagers at her school. But the ones she had met weren't like that at all. This summer is starting to look up already. she thought as the three of them continued to make their way towards the cafeteria.
