Lily sighed, irritated. She was just been running out the door to get her first Pokemon when her father, who was walking in at the time, grabbed her arm, leading her back into the house. She grumbled, but followed him to the kitchen, where her mother was still eating breakfast. She didn't like to be rushed, after all. Her mother stood up, picking up the bag by her feet and handing it to Lily.

"We packed it for you; food, clothing, and your phone. Your father threw in some Pokemon medicine, too, so make good use of it." Lily took the bag from her mother, pulling it over her shoulder. As she did, her mother wrapped her in a big hug.

"Be safe, and call us often, alright?" Lily nodded her agreement, and turned to leave. Her father was still there, staring at the ground. Lily knew he wasn't good at expressing his emotions, and didn't expect a hug from him. Instead, he walked past her, lightly tugging at her hair as he did. That was as close to a hug as she was getting from him. With a sigh of relief, she ran out of the house, heading straight for Lucas' house. When she got there, she didn't knock or ring a doorbell. Instead, she looked through a window, yelling as she did.

"Hey, aren't you ready yet? Let's get moving!"

Lucas was laying in bed, sleeping, and it would of stayed that way if someone hadn't woken him up. "Hey, aren't you ready yet? Let's get moving!" He started to scramble under the covers, trying to kick them off. "Ah! W-What?" He started to rise from his bed and go to the window. "Ready for what?" He started to think for a moment before he remembered.

"Oh yea! That! Oops.." Lucas quickly went through the house, shoving some clothes and such in a backpack. He went through and said goodbye to his family, not knowing if it would take that long. He went into his brother's room, and took some stuff off his dresser. He wasn't sure what it did, but he thought it helped Pokemon.

Lucas finally arrived outside the house, looking at Lily. "Yes? Ready now?" He stuck out his tongue and blew a raspberry, smiling wide after.

Lily waited for him to come out, tapping her foot impatiently. When he did come out, blowing a raspberry, she blinked, but rolled her eyes and stuck her own tongue out back at him. She knew it was childish, but he had started it; it was his fault! Still, though, it probably wasn't really called for. She gave her own smile.

"I've been ready; Mom and Dad kept stopping me, so it took forever. It's like they assumed I had forgotten to pack my bag, or hadn't done it properly, or something..." Granted, she had forgotten a few things, like spare clothing and food, but it was all packed now, and that was all that needed to be done. She bounced lightly in place.

"Let's get moving already; I want to get going!" she said, turning towards the lab and started to walk towards it. She glanced back to make sure Lucas was following, at least.

Lucas started laughing when she stuck his tongue out back at him. He listened to her talk about packing her back, and her parents. "I think I forgot some stuff.. oh well." He smiled when he remembered that he'd shoved some of his brother's stuff in his bag. "I wonder what Pokemon he has.."

His brother was a trainer, and Lucas looked up to him greatly. He was the middle child, and his little sister would probably be looking up to him one day. "He went to Goldenrod before! And saw a real train!" The two were both from the same small town, and didn't see many big cities.

Lucas saw her walking away and he scrambled to catch up with her so he could walk next to her. "I wonder what Pokemon we'll get." He made sure to open the door and hold it open for Lily. "Ladies first.. long as you hurry up." He stuck his tongue out again, giggling after. His mother was worried he was too immature, too silly to be a Pokemon trainer, like his idol- his older sibling. Only time would tell.

Lily shrugged. She knew his brother had been a trainer, but she never wondered too much about what Pokemon he had. What did it matter, when she was going to have her own someday? Like...today! Still, a huge city...that didn't concern her too much. The buildings were too crowded, from what her father had told her.

"Well...the train was probably interesting...do you think he got to ride it?" she asked, hesitating when he opened the door. She stuck her tongue back at him before rushing through the door. She couldn't understand what her father had been worried about. Her mother had liked the idea of her travelling with a friend, but her father wasn't so sure. Did he think they didn't get along? They always teased each other! Wasn't that perfectly normal among friends? She paused to glance around the inside of the building. She didn't go in there often, really.

"Hmm...whatever Pokemon we get...hopefully they'll be cute!"

Lucas didn't know the answers to her questions. "I dunno. I hope he took pictures if he did.." He looked to her as she passed through the door, she stuck her tongue out right back at him. He smiled and walked with her.

"Hmm...whatever Pokemon we get...hopefully they'll be cute!"

"Of course." He smiled, teasing her. "Like you." He made a quick motion, going towards her but stopping and quickly pulling back with his arms out to say 'what you gonna do about it?' He giggled and walked to a skinny man with brown hair and glasses. Lucas looked to him, but then the ground. He wasn't good at talking with people. He looked to Lily, hoping she would say something, but it was too late. He was saying something already. It was about a trip, and Mr. Pokemon or something.

Lucas's eyes kept wandering to a small mouse.

Lily blinked, looking to Lucas, before rolling her eyes at him. But clearly this wasn't the time to be horsing around too much; Elm was there. She tilted her head to one side, listening curiously. An important email? But what was so important that he was going to send them? And what could possibly keep him so busy he couldn't go himself? But the point was, he was asking them to go for him, and he was giving them the Pokemon. It was better manners to accept.

"Sure, we'll go visit Mr. Pokemon." She hesitated, glancing to Lucas. "Do you mind if I choose first? I already have an idea..." she added, glancing to the three pokeballs on the desk. Elm had already explained the Pokemon inside them, and she knew which one she wanted.

"I kinda wanted Chikorita, if you didn't mind, Lucas..."

Lucas finally got what he was saying. They had to visit someone, and that's why they were getting Pokemon, to go with them on the journey. He listened to him explain the different Pokemon, and Lily already had her mind made up. She asked him if it was okay if she had Chikorita. "Oh yea, it's fine."

It only left two pokemon remaining. An easier choice for Lucas. He chose Cydnaquil and smiled going to Lily. "Got a type advantage, I'll beat you up." He pretended to fight her before laughing and looking at the pokeball he'd just picked up, wondering what they would be doing on their way to Mr. Pokemon.

Lily was relieved, and hurried to pick up the pokeball with Chikorita inside. She looked over it, fairly pleased with her choice. It was cuter than Totodile was, and Cyndaquil was almost as cute. But she wasn't really sure about dealing with fire types. What if they didn't get along? She was worried about getting burned. But that couldn't possibly happen with a Chikorita! She looked back as Lucas took the Cyndaquil, hesitating. Yes, it was a type advantage. But really, that didn't mean he would always win! Well...maybe it meant he would win until she actually had a strategy for dealing with fire types. She rolled her eyes again as he pretended to fight her.

"Doesn't matter; you're not going to beat me! ...All the time," she added in a mumble. She shrugged the thought off, and glanced at the remaining pokeball. There weren't any others getting their Pokemon that day; when would Totodile get to travel? She shook that thought off; it wasn't like it wasn't being cared for, after all. She listened carefully to the directions Elm gave to get to Mr. Pokemon's house, and nodded before turning back to Lucas.

"Ready to go, then? Maybe we'll see a lot of wild Pokemon along the way!"

Lucas smiled seeing Lily worrying a little about his choice. Lucas honestly didn't choose Cydnaquil because of the type advantage, it just happened to be that way. But it was something he would play on. He saw there was one left, but he knew something would happen to it.

"Okay." He started to walk out of the building with Lily. "I wonder what.. probably like some of the ones in the woods." They kept walking and they came to some grass. He turned to Lily, before slowly walking in, unsure.

"Probably...hopefully not too many bug types..." Lily noted, glancing around. She hesitated when they ran into some tall grass. She glanced at Lucas before watching him walk into the tall grass. She figured he was about as nervous about running into a wild Pokemon as she was. But it had to happen at some point; how else were they and their Pokemon supposed to get stronger? She paused a second before following him into the grass.

."Let's just...try to be careful..." She debated taking Chikorita out of its pokeball and having it walk around with her, so she wouldn't have to worry about the wild Pokemon as much, but decided against it. There was a reason most trainers kept their Pokemon in pokeballs, anyway, wasn't there?

Lucas wasn't worried about bug types, he knew what Cyndaquil was good against. He still didn't want to run into one. He didn't really wanna run into a pokemon period, but it was inevitable. "Let's just try to be careful" He looked to Lily and kept walking. He held the pokeball in his hand, ready.

He nearly tripped on a Pidgey that soon flew up in the air. "Ah!" It startled Lucas, and he scrambled to get his Pokemon out. "Tackle! Tackle!" He said frantically, not sure what was happening. The two pokemon battled, and the wild one fainted. Cyndaquil walked back to Lucas's side. Looking down to it, he scooped it up and held it.

Lucas remembered Lily was with him, and she just saw the whole thing. Him panicking, and then hugging his pokemon. He blushed slightly. "What?"

Lily gave him a funny look. She hadn't seen Lucas panic before. Usually he was either calm, or teasing her. He had won, though...and the Pidgey was out for the moment. She shook her head at his question. Hugging a Pokemon was nothing, really. That actually seemed fairly normsl, not necessarily for him, but for a trainer. Either way, he was embarrassed, and it was kinda funny.

"Nervous?" she asked, teasing. She did her best not to laugh, though. She panicked all the time, so she knew she shouldn't be laughing. Still, she kept s tight grip on the pokeball holding Chikorita. What if another wild Pokemon attacked, and it attacked her? She had to be ready for a battle that could happen at any time. Wild Pokemon were everywhere, after all.

"Well, now we know that Pidgey live here, so we know we need to be ready for that," she noted, changing the conversation, so he wouldn't be quite so embarassed anymore.

Lucas looked away, but didn't stop hugging his Cyndaquil. He didn't pay attention to Lily teasing him, and tried to just keep walking through the grass. He didn't put Cyndaquil away, instead having him walk with him, at the ready. He looked to Lily.

"So.. any idea how long till we get there?" He was cautious of any other pokemon that might come up. She said something about Pidgey. "Yea.. that's for sure.."

Lily paused, thinking, glancing around. She was tempted to tease him, since he didn't seem to want to let the Cyndaquil, but she didn't bother. That wasn't really much of a big deal, after all. Now...how long til they got to Mr. Pokemon's house?

"I forgot my map...maybe I'll pick it up later. Anyway, Elm said it was pretty much a straight shot; we should go through Cherrygrove City...and then head north...something about the right path...and that should be it. As for how long...hmm...well, it isn't too long a trip to Cherrygrove City...but getting from Cherrygrove to Mr. Pokemon's house might take a little longer...I just wish I knew how long it would take..." she answered, glancing around again. She jumped at a Pidgey nearby, and hesitated. Chikorita had a type disadvantage against flying types...so not a really good idea. But the Pidgey was kind of cute. Kind of wasn't enough; she left it alone, hoping it would fly off.

"Hopefully not too too long. Elm did say the email said it was important..."

(I'm sorry it took so long; my stupid computer said I had no new posts anywhere! But I had two...yours and another...makes me feel bad I didn't check properly...)

Like Lily, Lucas was wondering when they would get out of the grass and find Cherrygrove. She said she forgot her map. "Well ain't that great." He smiled "Well, I know we're right here.."

He saw her jump at another Pidgey. Lucas watched her try to decide whether to attack or let it go. She had a type disadvantage, and Lucas didn't have any advantage. He watched it as they walked away form it, making sure he knew where it was.

"Hopefully not too long. Elm did say the email was important."
"Well, maybe he should've gone himself, I dunno." Lucas quickly stopped complaining once they reach ed they reached Cherrygrove city. "Woo!" His smile soon faded as he realized they still had to go to Mr. Pokemon from here.

Lily nodded, glancing back at the Pidgey. Maybe if it hadn't been a flying type...and maybe a little cuter, too. She shrugged at Lucas' complaint.

"Well, he said he was busy, and the email said it was important, but he wasn't sure whether or not it was real this time. Whatever that means," she added with another shrug. She paused when they looked over another city. This had to be Cherrygrove! Finally; that was one step behind. Now they only had to go north...until they ran into Mr. Pokemon's house, however far that was.

"Well...should we check it out first? Maybe visit the Pokemon Center first?"

Lucas listened to Lily explaining that Elm was busy and why he couldn't go. Just cause he was listening doesn't mean he cared though. "Well la ti da." He stuck his tongue out at her.

"Well..should we check it out first? Maybe visit the Pokemon Center first?" Lucas remembered his Cyndaquil had battled. He turned away from Lily and looked to his Cyndaquil. "Wanna go in buddy?" He blushed a little bit, but its not like Lily had even talked to hers yet.

"Okay, I'm goin." Lucas stepped in, not knowing if Lily wanted to come too. He put Cyndaquil back in his ball and handed it to the nurse. After a few seconds a little soundtrack, she handed it back to him and they were ready to go again. He would wait until they left the Pokemon Center first before letting him back out though.

Lily rolled her eyes. It almost sounded like he was being lazy, but she knew he was just happy to have his Pokemon. Besides, this was a good experience. It was like practice for when they actually went out to travel. But she didn't see how anything was going to make them change their minds and go back home. They were just still close enough to home that it didn't really feel much like a real journey. She hesitated, but called out her Chikorita. She wanted to know her Chikorita better, and it wasn't going to happen if it was always inside its pokeball. She followed Lucas into the Pokemon Center, and encouraged her Chikorita to follow her. She waited patiently while Lucas had his Cyndaquil healed, glancing around the area as she did.

"Well...whenever you're ready, I guess. Chikorita doesn't really need to be healed just yet; it hasn't been in a battle yet..."

Lucas watched Lily debate whether to let her pokemon out or not. To Lucas it seemed obvious, he wanted to see his Pokemon. He listened to her. "Yea, I know." He stuck out his tongue, smiling. "Wanna go then?"

The two started walking out of Cherrygrove and they came upon a tree. "There's berries up there." Lucas smiled and looked to Lily "Stand on my shoulders, get some?" There was a house too, but he didn't wanna go in. He would feel weird just walking into a stranger's home.

wellLily stuck her tongue out at him, but followed as he left the Pokemon Center. At this rate, his Pokemon were going to get stronger, but hers weren't. She had to find something to fight, eventually. But a grass type like Chikorita against a flying type like Pidgey...there had to be a better type match than that out here, somewhere. She hesitated, looking up at the berries for a moment. What if the owner of the house got mad? ...Well, there wasn't exactly a sign, or something, saying that they couldn't, after all.

"...Only if you're sure you won't drop me. ...And you don't think we'll get into trouble doing this," she answered, looking back to Lucas. She trusted him, of course, but this was a strangers house, and they had no idea who lived there.

"...You don't think whoever lives here would get mad...do you?"

Lucas was surprised she believed his idea. "I don't drop you." He was pretty confident he would hold her. He couldn't find any signs prohibiting them from grabbing a few berries for their Pokemon. "We won't be taking too many anyway, they have more.." Lucas was justifying to get them.

"I don't think they would mind, why would they have it so close to the road?" He waited there, seeing what Lily would say about it. Lucas bent down and looked to his Cyndaquil, petting it softly.

Lily hesitated, looking around. There really wasn't any sign around the area saying not to. And they were pretty close to the road...and that was kind of their fault. They were probably used to people taking berries from their tree, anyway.

"Right...they have more...and we wouldn't take too much..." She glanced to Chikorita, though that wasn't much help. Chikorita only watched, curiously. She looked back to Lucas.

"I guess it wouldn't hurt, really..."

Lucas smiled and looked to Lily. "Sweet, lets do it then." He made sure his Cyndnaquil wasn't in his way before getting ready. He looked to Lily. "Come on." He really hoped that the owner wouldn't mind. They'd be drawing some attention, standing on someone, clambering around in tree branches for a few berries.

"Yea, would't hurt.. Might help ya, if you ever battle." He stuck his tongue out again, teasing her that she hasn't battled anything so far.

Lily stuck her tongue out at him, but climbed up on Lucas to reach the berries. She glanced at Chikorita, then started reaching for the nearest berries. They only needed a few, really...they only had one Pokemon each, so there really had no need for a lot of berries.

"Well...if there wasn't a type disadvantage, I would. But Chikorita is weak to flying Pokemon, so I have to be careful. It's not like Cyndaquil, where there really aren't any water types in the area." She hopped off Lucas, onto the ground, showing him the berries she had collected.

"I couldn't reach any more, but this should be enough for the Pokemon we have now."
