History:
Monica was an orphaned child by an act of theivery. Her family was robbed and killed by Elven Marauders, which left her stranded at a very, very young age. Luckily for her, however, she was founded by a group of dwarven explorers, which would take her into their group, where she quickly took up favoritism. Everyone loved the sweet little human girl that helped all around the camp. In her youth, it was common to see her serving food to other dwarves at the kitchen of the Explorers' Kinship, or wherever they set up the food kitchen on the expeditions. She was raised by these dwarves as their own, which graduated into her developing personality; fun-loving, and easy-going. She is very often happy, and proud of her work. Yet, she truly kept the innocence of childhood - of the little human girl she really was. As she grew older, she knew she could do more than cook, clean the kitchen, and keep the guards company. So she went to the kinship's smith, and took an apprenticeship! Little Monica, barely 11 years old, seemed to be a natural metalworker, favoring no one art of metalcraft. She was good at making weapons, armor, and repairing them as well. She favored weapons, but only because they were easier.... But the dwarven man she learned from would comment on the dwarven blood that ran in her mind, though it didn't run in her veins. It was quite funny, however, as genetics didn't favor her at all.... she turned out to be a meager 4,10 tall, almost as short as her dwarven teachers.
All jokes aside, Monica learned quickly from the masterful metalsmithing from the dwarven race, moving from teacher to teacher, untill she could feel like she could make any weapon. Eventually she said goodbye to the exploration kinship that she called her family to traverse the lands, learning from the best smiths of the lands... humans, elves, or even fae. She takes pride in her durable, worthy blades. However after she turned sixteen, one night as she was packing up shop, she was robbed, assaulted and raped by an elven thief. At this point in her life, she was rather frustrated with the elven race... killed her parrents, and beating and violating her, on top of outing her of about 100 gold? It's rather pronounced to say that she is not very trusting towards the elven race anymore... But this opened her eyes a little bit. Even a young blacksmith as herself needed protection... and she wasn't about to hire some damn mercenary to babysit her all day....So instead, she began to get mercenaries to teach her to fight! While she is no professional fighter, she can hold her own with one-handed swords, knives, axes, spears and polearms.... she even knows how to use shields (favoring bucklers).
To this day, her travelling smithy wagon is very popular, and she has a lot of business, and despite being very young, is quite well known across the world, as the little human girl that can fill mass orders, able to create as many as 20 durable, superior craft weapons in a day, something a lesser smith would need two to do (unless they were dwarves, of course.) Her store,
Master Monica's Metalworks is well known for it's popular, high-quality weapons.
Notes:
Monica is very, very weary around elves, and doesn't like to turn her back to them.
It is noted that Monica is attracted to both men and women.
Monica always carries her tools with her. It's rumored she even has them when she lies down to sleep at night.
