There are some places within the world where planes collide, weakening the very boundaries of reality that we humans have come to understand. These rifts have existed long before the dawn of time, some formed with such force to rip apart a plane, while others... not so much. Through these rifts, various beings have entered our world, enigmatic to our understanding, and among them... Demons. While the rifts themselves are never there for long, these beings have entered our world since its very creation, some wishing more harm than good. To combat these beings, various organizations have sprouted up over millennia to drive them out. These guardians, these... magi tend to hide their existence from the world, as they've hid the existence of demons and the other things that bump in the night. Anything that threatens to reveal them to the rest of humanity is eliminated quickly and quietly, to the best of their ability...

That is, until one encounters the Black Blades, a "professional" group of magi whose (only) specialty is causing more damage and chaos than those they hunt. They are as arrogant as they are powerful, even though they are criminals in their own right. They take no effort in hiding their actions, often ending up with Inquisitors (and others) trying to eliminate them, and this is usually where somebody like you falls into place of something like this.

Welcome to Babylon, the city of rebirth. The city spans over 85% of the Middle East, its land divided between 8 different districts. The city's inner districts, built over the ruins of the original Babylon, is clean and prosperous, largely controlled by the wealthy and powerful. Beyond the city's inner walls, the Inquisition patrols the outer district, which is generally peaceful and orderly, with the occasional demon sighting...
