Personality:
Kaska has two sides to her: the loving, kind, sweet spirit and the impatient, angry spirit. Most of the time it is the first, nicer side of her that is present. Kaska in this mood is always happy to help and ready to laugh. If someone were to meet her for the first time, without knowing that she was a spirit, they might describe her as a sweet, naive young girl.
The second side, which tends to show itself when she is vengeful, is the side of her that will cause wildfires and blizzards without a second thought. Kaska tries to squash this side of her as it always leaves her feeling guilty.
There is, perhaps, a third side that Kaska rarely lets others see. It is the side that fears being forgotten and alone forever. Kaska dreads the idea of fading out of known existence.
Skills:
Kaska's skills relate to the elements she resides over: Fire and Snow. Each different element is stronger in their respective months (fire in summer and snow in winter). Kaska can create fire simply by willing it to be. The easiest way of doing this is by holding out her hand and creating it.
Kaska creates snow by freezing winter particles in the air, hence why it is easier in water when temperatures are colder and there is likely to be more rain.
Besides her spirit powers Kaska has quite a talent for acrobatics and climbing. She enjoys reaching the top branches of trees and can often be found reading at the tip of any tree surrounding the shrine.
Family: None - nor does she remember her family name, so whenever she feels the need she will change it.
Sexual Orientation: Unbiased
History:
Kaska is the Spirit of Fire and Snow. She is a seasonal spirit who thrives in the hottest and cold seasons, specifically Summer and Winter. Her human life has long passed from her knowledge. The small remnants she has remembered or gathered from ancient lore points to her roaming hillsides in search of a long lost family.
All she is left with is her spirit history. It begins when she was called a Spirit of the Seasons. Human's would send her prayers for a mild winter and rains to increase the yield of their crops. She would, when she could, ease the local seasons to help the humans. She was known as both a benevolent spirit: sending cleansing showers and sunlight to help the growth of plants, and a malevolent spirit: responding with harsh bush fires and bitter snows. In her golden years Kaska was revered as much as she was feared.
Then the humans began to forget. They grew resentful of her fires and snows, new spirits drew their attention until eventually the humans forgot about her completely. Kaska also grew irritated with the humans and turned to her malevolent side for a time. For a decade the winters were some of the harshest ever heard of and in the summer it would get so hot that bush fires would sprout up. But eventually Kaska grew tired, she felt guilt licking at her heels and she returned to the spirit world.
Decades passed and Kaska's association with seasons changed to simply fire and snow, she never regained the benevolent powers that had originally given her the name Spirit of Seasons. Kaska believes this is because of the pain she inflicted on the humans when her anger at being forgotten got the best of her.
It wasn't until the village Izuzan summoned her and four other spirits that Kaska returned to the human world. She found the world greatly changed from her time and she readily agreed to help defend the town. It was a mix of curiosity and a desire to make up for her previous behavior that made her promise to help.
Kaska used her powers to burn paths through the soldiers, to freeze them where they stood and confuse them in blizzards. After the war had stopped she and the other spirits took up residence in the mountain shrine and for years five youths from the village were brought up. And then the village forgot. This time, at least, Kaska was not alone. There were the other four spirits residing in the shrine with her. She managed to
