Introduction
Link had failed to complete his destiny. In the final battle against Ganondorf, he was killed. The King of Evil, reveling in his triumph, believed that there was nothing that could stand in his way. But there was one group that dared to do so: the Sages. Having lost Hyrule's final hope, the Sages had no choice but to seal Ganondorf away without Link's help. They were successful... but it came at a price: the loss of Zelda, who had been struck down by one of Ganondorf's servants during the sealing ceremony. Because of the princess' death, not only did the line of the Royal Family decline, but the seal was not complete in its entirety since all of the Sages were needed to make a long-lasting seal.
Peace had returned to Hyrule... but the Sages knew it wouldn't last long. They knew that the seal wasn't strong enough to hold Ganondorf for over a hundred years. But they had bought the world time... time to prepare for his return. Twenty years have passed, and the Sages have been preparing their apprentices to take their places should something happen to them. They have also been looking for the reincarnations of Link and Zelda, as they would be key pieces in the upcoming battle.
But Ganondorf's followers are eager to make his return even sooner...

Chances were, her parents were already downstairs setting up shop for the day, and would require her help At night, she was going to play the harp for everyone: a new song she had been learning for a while now, and she was only just satisfied with it to share it with everyone. Following that would come a merry tune from her Ocarina, to help everyone dance and enjoy themselves.
One hour later, she put on an apron, and took over the care of the store, her parents going off to hunt for some food. She opened to door, paying an errand boy, and reciving a crate of potions. She hummed a slight tune as she set to put the potions in their proper shelves.
There was a doorbell ringing, and Serenade turned her head, βWelcome! How may I β¦ help... you...β She said, as a cloacked figure walked through the door. Without warning, he picked her up. She screamed in surprised, kicked, and was hit in the back of the head....
Serenade jumped out of bed, her heart pounding against her chest with the force of a battering ram, and her sweat was cold. βWhat on earth... was THAT? β She took a few deep breaths to calm her self, though it certainly wasn't easy to do so. She drunk some milk, and clutched her chest, β Talk about a nightmare!β
Still restless, she reached over to her small, portable lute, closed her eyes, and played a small tune, etched with emotion as only she could do. It was sad... it made her think of her days gone bye, of those who had died in her life time. When she finished, she took a deep breath, no longer panicking.
Her eyes caught the dawn, βSo, I woke up at my normal time.... well, I guess there's no point in lingering over a nightmare. Time to get to work!β
An hour later, she began stocking the shelves as she normally did. The door opened, revealing a villager, βWelcome? What can I get for you?... A red potion? Is your husband sick again?β She sighed, ,βI'll charge you half. That'll be 35 rupees, and here's a small viall of green medicine, as a get well soon gift from me. Do take care!β She said, watching the old villager leave.
It continued in this manner until around noon, where her shift here was through. Sh took off her apron, set it on a rack, and walked outside, heading for the archery range. She opened the door, βI'm here... so go take a nap, okay? You're getting to old to sit here all day.β
The archery master shrugged, going to a bed nearby, knowing it was useless to argue. For the next hour, she helped clean the area, making it look more presentable, and ran the game for a customer. Once he left, she set it back up, took her pay, a blue rupee ( she would have refused more), and walked outside. βI might be able to get that Lute I've had my eye on soon... it looks and sounds so pretty!β She said, remembering the Lute she had seen at the shop across from her.
Along the way, her eyes caught two children, with a crook and bags over their arms, βAre you sure about this brother? Won't mom and dad be sad?β
The other one replied, βIf I stay here, they'll have to spend more money to feed me... I'm going away for everyone... but you shouldn't have to leave, brother. They'll be sad if we both leave.
βIf you go on you're own, you'll die. Our parents will be able to save more...β He stopped talking as Serenade drew near, and keeled down to where she was their height, and looked at them. β
You two are such good kids, willing to sacrifice yourselves... but, it would break my heart to see a mother and father crying because their child left them for their sake. Here.β She said, handing not only the blue ruppee, but two red rupees she had been saving, for a total of 45, βTake them. These should buy you food and drink for a week or two.β She ruffled one of their heads, got up, and headed back to the shop.
Across from her was another shop, and in it's window the lute she so desired. There was gold dust along the wood, Witch seemed to be an Ivory of sort, though she couldn't tell. The strings were resilient, and properly tuned. She had been able to play a small melody on, and it was music to her ears.. with meant it was expensive. She figured that, when she got it it, she would hand down her lute to someone who desired to learn how to play. Leave nothing wasted.
She peaked into her wallet, and let out a sigh, βI'm glad I helped... but now I'm down to 10 ruppess.... that lute is 130... well, complaining is useless. I'll just have to do as I always do.β
She looked at the lute, and clenched her fist, βI'm not going to give up!β She nodded, and laid down on a bench, staring up at the clouds, and, unless she had a good reason, wouldn't budge she would have played a tune, but she was going to do it at night, in front of the well. She so loved the smiles and tears she invoked with her music.

The man shrugged and grabbed a vine hanging on the side of the tree. The fingerless gloves he wore on his hands felt good on the vine as he jumped off of his perch. He slid about halfway down the length of the vine and tightened his grip so he could stop. Once he stopped moving he began to swing back and forth. It only took a few reps until the vine had a good swing going. once He was satisfied the man slid off of the vine and was flung towards a tree a few yards away. With his left hand he grabbed a lone branch to slow his descent and immediately let go. He did this to every branch he could reach on the way down to the forest floor.
His boots finally hit the ground and he placed his bow on the harness on his back. He flipped his hair, put his hands in his pockets and was on his way.
He left the forest and came face to face with the brilliant Hyrule Field. It was daytime and the grassy field was shining brilliantly. He smiled and made his way across. His destination was his hometown of Kakiriko Village. It was a long hike across the field, but He was used to it, he had taken it many times before.
Salem Wales entered the village with a familiar smile. He waved to people as they passed and frequently stopped to talk to his neighbors.
He made his way to his masters home. He had a few objectives to accomplish by going here. One, he had to give back the crossbow, it wasn't his. He was too poor to afford his own. The second objective involved his childhood friend Serenade. He knew she worked at the shop every now and then and he hoped to see her there. They had known each other forever and lately had been drifitng apart. What with Salems training and her work, they had just not gotten to hang out as much as they used to, but today that was going to change.
Salem was barely in the door when he saw that she was not there. He threw the crossbow onto the counter and sprinted out the door. He had to see her, he had promised himself. He climbed over the rock walls that were placed throughout the village, scanning the village for his friend. He climbed onto the top of one of the highest houses in the village and gave it a quick once over. He finally caught sight of her on a bench and smiled.
He slid down the roof and onto the ground. He hit the ground with a quick forward roll to break the fall. His momentum pushed him onto his feet and he ran to the spot where his friend was lying. He was about to announce his presence when he spotted the lute in the window. He smiled and shook his head.
He poked his head above hers and stared at her as she lied on the bench. "Hey there," he said with a grin. "Wanna stop hogging the bench?"

By lunch time, Isis had helped her friends catch their fish to eat and had gotten her own meal from it too that she'd just have to roast over a small fire. She took her meal up to her fire pit and soon after her belly was full. Her day was still just beginning though, because she had to do her training for her apprenticeship. She also had to practice with her powers, help the others with their work, make supper, and still make some leisure time. This was her normal day, and Isis had to admit that she did like a routine. She enjoyed training for something important. It made her feel special and it gave her a purpose. Isis missed her mom, and she had never even known her father, but she couldn't look back on a life that no longer existed. Those days were dead, and she had friends for once in her life. Granted she didn't trust all of the Zoras, and there were some Zoras who thought themselves to be better than her because of what they could do and what she was limited to. But there were some Zoras who accepted her, and a couple of them who she put her trust in. Ruto was one of them because she was the Sage who had practically taken her in. It took a lot for Isis to trust someone and that person would have to work really hard to earn said trust. But once she would trust someone, there wasn't much that Isis wouldn't do for that person, no matter the race. Isis sat on her bed as she finished eating and glanced at a small harp that she kept in her hut. She'd learned to play the song of water, and had even done her own composing to expand it a little. She smiled as she looked at it and then put her plate down to go train with the Sage of Water.

β60 Rupees is asking a lotβ he said, looking out into the distance trying to look thoughtful.
He hated doing business Kakariko village, everything here reminded him of the innocence of his youth. To him the first and foremost rule of any business was to Rip Them Off. He didnβt like that rule here, he didnβt like giving the occupants of his former home a bad deal. It was like stealing from a friend. But that wouldnβt stop him.
βI wonβt go any higher than 45β the man looked shocked.
He had come into possession of some kind of lute. Quite rare and beautiful, Lucas imagined it could fetch anything from 80 to 200 Rupees in Castle Town Market. What the shocked looking man had not realised when he had acquired it however was that it was stolen. A stolen item such as this certainly came from a place of wealth, an aristocrat or noble maybe, and they would be most likely looking for it. Thus the manβs eagerness to be rid of it. Lucas knew this, knew the man was desperate to sell, so he wasnβt going to throw Rupeeβs away he didnβt have to. It sounds brutal but thatβs life in Lucasβs world, brutality and shady deals were all part of smuggling, and he wouldnβt be a very good smuggler if the profit he made was marginal. The man made a face of protest, he knew the worth of the lute as much as Lucas did, but Lucas knew how to hide it, knew who to sell it to so it never gets traced back, how to lose it in the dirty underground of Hyrule. The man did not, and if he was found with it, his reputation as an honest trader would be shattered. Finally he gave a reluctant nod and Lucas smiled almost sadistically.
β You wonβt regret itβ Lucas said throwing the man a sack of Rupees. βLook on the bright side, at least itβs out of your handsβ The man gave a disproving snort as he counted the Rupeeβs. βGet your hired hands to put it on my cart, itβs at the stable. And get them to be discrete yeah? Put a damn towel over it or something.β
The man walked of solemnly into the distance, Lucas was happy with himself; it was a good deal after all. He felt relatively safe applying his trade in Kakariko, the authorities here concerned themselves with the crime that tends to be in your face. Thieving street urchins and tavern brawls was the things they were used to, white glove crime such as smuggling was neither too petty nor to serious to be noticed here. Thatβs what he had always figured anyway. Something that changes abruptly upon entering Castle Town, with the day done Lucas walked out from the alley back into the street. He noticed an Orphanage matron buying vegetables in the market. She caught his gaze and gave a slight aged nod at him, Lucas in return gave a massive grin and with that she carried on her business.
βThey love to hate meβ he said jokingly to himself.
Lucas made his way to the tavern, it was early but what better way to waste the time than to spend it drinking Ale. He might as well, he was stuck here for a week now. He figured that whoever wanted that lute back would be out on Hyrule Field checking travellers and traders. Best to wait a week, by then he reckoned theyβd move into the villages, at which time he would move out. As Lucas casually walked towards the tavern he noticed a lute in a shop window, two teens sat outside it,
βAh to be youngβ he said to himself with nostalgia.
As he looked at the shop he realized it might be a good idea to have someone who knows something about lutes to come and have a look at his new one, find out the gritty details before he hits the road with it.
βKnowing my luck it probably has a monster inside itβ Lucas said to himself sarcastically βor woodwormβ Lucas cursed under his breath βI hate wood wormsβ
But this simply went down on his to-do list, as he found his way into the tavern and ordered his first Ale.

Her eyes continued to focus on the sky, even after she finished,βIt's always calm, yet there's always something sinister lurking on the horizon. That is why I love the sky, but it's also why I hate it. I've seen this same sky from the moment I was born. Mother tlls me it never used to be like that, and everyone was able to dance and sing freely from the walls of the castle. I look at the castle now, and I only see ruins, a destroyed bridge... what HAPPENED?β She asked with a sigh.
Her view was suddenly interrupted by silver locks and yellow eyes. She couldn't help but smile at his sudden appearance. βHey. Haven't gotten to see much of you lately. Huh? You've been practicing non-stop. Don't push yourself, okay?β
She slid, making room for Salem βSo much time seems to pass too quickly. It seems like only yesterday that we were playing Princess and Her Knight throughout the village... and I would ask you to do silly things like fetching cuckoos, pretending they were criminals.β She reminisced with a slight smile. βNow look at us, a decade later... where did it all go?β She asked.
She pulled out a small bottle of water, taking a drink. βTime... I feel that that is an important word... I guess it's because it's absolute... no one can escape it.... and here I am, talking about things I know little about,... I can't wait for the hour of twilight.... when I get to play my music for everyone... you haven't heard me in a while, have you? You should come, I have a few new tunes I'm going to play.
Her eyes wandered up, and caught the attention of a young woman, who smiled and waved at her. She tried to think of the girls name, witch meant she had never heard it. She seemed to now her though. Nevertheless, she smiled and waved back. She had gone out of her way to wave, after all.
βSo, what brings you to see me? Was there anything you had in mind?β

He watched her with a smile as she took a drink. He missed her. He trained nearly every day without time off. He had a strict curfew at night, but he usually managed to sneak out. His master gave him one three-day break every other month to go see his family and stuff like that. The time always flew by so fast he missed catching Serenade most of the time.
She started philosophising about time. Salem listened quietly while staring at the clouds. When she brought up her music he smiled. He was sure she didn't know this but he always snuck out to see her play, He would sit on Masters roof and listen as she played. This time however, he would actually be allowed to attend. "I'll definitely be there Serenade" he promised witha grin.
He spotted the waving girl just as Serenade did. Salem didn't know her, but she seemed familiar. He waved anyway. No reason to be impolite right?
Salem responded quickly to her question. "but of course Serenade" he answered. "I have the day off, and figured I'd go see my oldest friend. I feel as if I've been neglecting you." he smiled. He said this with an air of sarcasm. It really wasn't his fault.
He didn't know why he trained so much. He was just shoved into it a few years back. His parents and master insisted. Salem was sure he had asked why once but he seemed to remember getting blown off and being told. "You don't have time for meaningless questions if you can't hit the bullseye." Master can be a bit short sometimes.

The ride was a needed one, something to clear her mind and reset her focus on the day. No doubt, it would be another day of training and instruction. The continued practice of her already-extensive skills in archery and close-quarters combat were something that she could handle without breaking a sweat. Grace and agility in the face of pressure and opposition was something that had come naturally to Aliah from the moment that she took from crawling to standing on her own two feet. Learning to work with others and train to becoming the next Sage of Light? Now that was something entirely different.
Aliah was good at what she did and she was loyal to those that earned her trust. That didnβt necessarily mean that she was an expert at playing nice with others or that she understood just how much she would be required to work as part of a larger team in the days to come. When it came to learning patience and the deeper ways of the world, the twenty-two-year-old woman still had a lot to learn.
βHello, the camp!β She called out from behind the mask as she rode town into the town, passing the first number of shops in the place that had been the only true home sheβd ever known.
βHas anyone seen Rala?β Aliah slid down from the mount, tied the horse to a post with a loving grace of the neck from her hand, and then pulled the hood and mask away to reveal her face.
βI swear, that girl,β she muttered to herself.

She snuck through, moving through the shadows of the repetitive fruit stands and markets, glad that the angle of the sun provided her ample darkness to shroud her in. This was her talent--moving with darkness, invisible to the eyes of those in the light. She loved it. It was like a game to her, and it was so good for sneaking up on people. She remembered the first time she was able to sneak up on Impa without being noticed. The old woman screamed so loud and fell over, Rala thought she had killed her at first. She snickered to herself, fond of that particular memory.
She finally reached her target: her friend, rival, and fellow Sheikah, Aliah Valdean. She moved carefully into the patch of shadow behind her, waiting as she called out looking for her. She began to giggle but quickly caught herself so that she wouldn't be discovered. Suddenly, she saw her opening and pounced as soon as her target's guard was down, wrapping slender arms around her and taking her to the ground.
"Aliah!" she cried out in glee, laughter filling her voice. "I'm right here."

βYou know, I've been wanting to take a vacation somewhere... I want to see other parts of Hyrule... I once heard a story about the lake, how it's such a peaceful view, and the view of the sun setting over the water is positively gorgeous... I want to see it for myself... we should go sometime.... I think that would be great...β She said, but sighed. βBut I'm working here, and I'd prefer not to walk all the way, so we'd need a horse.... we could rent one from Lon Lon, but that would cost money... well, someday, I'd like to see it...β
βHang on, I'll be right back.β She said, disappearing into her shop, where she walked up the stairs, grabbing her lute and ocarina, as well as twi loves of bread, before reappearing outside. βHere.β She said, handing him a loaf, and what remained in her bottle of water. βI doubt you had anything to eat before you showed up... it's about time for me to go and play, let's head in that direction.β She said, eating her loaf as she walked towards the well.
There were already a few people there, sitting on the steps, or lying on the ground facing the well. She smiled. It was always pleased her to see others waiting for her. She sat on the well itself. βHey everyone, I'm sorry if I kept you guys waiting. I've learned one or two songs since I last played, so I'd be happy to share them with you all. This first one, Guru-guru taught me. Though it was originally made for the ocarina, I adapted it to the lute, and changed a few notes so it wouldn't suddenly rain on our heads. I call it: Storm's Requiem.β
She took a small breath, her hands beginning to pluck the stings in a graceful manner, each note resounding clearly as a medium beat filled the air. To the audience, it feel like the smell of rain had embraced them, and there heads bobbed along as it became more and more lively.
When she ended, there was general clapping. Serenade looked at the sky with a smile. THIS was why she lived, this sense of pure bliss. She replaced her lute, bringing out her ocarina with a flourish, βNow then... what say you we get rid of lazing around, and party?β She asked with a laugh, playing a trill that began to evolve into a light-but-fast jig. Beofore long, a couple got up, and made a dance up at the spot, laughing as they twirled each other around, some children were jumping up and down.
The mood was getting upbeat with each passing second, Serenade but her being into the song, not wanting it to end shortly, breathing in through her nose. βYes, dance, be merry... anything to eliminate the sadness that threatens this lovely village.' She thought to herself.

He stayed seated as she dissapeared into her shop. She came back at once and tossed him some bread and her water. He nodded in thanks and got up to walk with her. She was right. He hadnt eaten in a while, not since yesterday. He shrugged his shoulders and took a bite of the loaf, following it up with the last of Serenades water. He wiped the crumbs off his mouth. "Yeah, I'd love to see that." he looked at the sky as he walked. "But i think Master might murder me if I up and left." he paused for a moment. "I just don't understand why he is pushing me so hard, what am i getting ready for? No one else in town is getting this prepared. I mean theres those who are ready to protect the village incase something happens, but even the town guards dont have as much training as I do." They arrived at the well before she could respond. Salem waved a goodbye to her and took his place in the audience.
Salem had perched himself on a fence near the back. He had a primo spot and could see everything perfectly. He got comfortable and watched Serenade introduce her song and begin playing. He closed his eyes. He always did when she played. Music was so much more beautiful when you cant see. He began subconsciously swaying to the tune, and before he knew it, it was over. He wished there was more, it was so beautiful. On the other hand, things were about to get fun.
Serenades song was so bouncy and fun that people had started dancing. Couples from around the audience took hands and got into the rhythm like they were teenagers again. Salem laughed as he watched the villagers party in the night. This didn't happen often, and he knew the village loved Serenade for doing this for them. Salem would have danced with them, but dancing alone is unacceptable, and his partner of choice was a bit occupied. He was simply enjoying the music... that is until a girl came up to him and drug him off of his perch to come dance with her. He shrugged, 'what the hell' and got into the festivities. He shot a glance to Serenade and smiled.
Before they knew it the whole village was iin party mode and was dancing in front of the well to Serenades music. Salem swore he even saw his parents dancing, that did not happen often. He thought he saw master, but that was crazy. That old man barely moves when training, he wouldnt go dancing.

Shadow and Light. Could anyone really expect them to work together? Well, Rauru and Impa certainly did.
The leaping form out of the shadows took Aliah by just enough surprise that she wasnβt able to steady herself before Rala crashed into her and drove both of them to the ground. As soon as the shock of the ambush was replaced by nature instinct, Aliah used the momentum of both girls falling to the ground and kicked her own free legs into the air in the same direction, resulting in the two doing a complete flip on the ground until Aliah rested on top of Rala with the younger girlβs arms pinned to the ground temporarily.
βYou managed to sneak up on me,β Aliah said with the hinted trappings of a grin beginning to play on the corner of her lips. βI hope you realize that Iβm going to get you back for that.β Sliding off and climbing up to her feet, the girl fetched the last of her supplies from the saddlebag and stared back up the path to Death Mountain, the one that had just carried her home.
βNot much going on up there today. Just like every day. Iβm starting to thinking that all this training is just a way for them to keep up busy and out of their hair,β she sighed. What she wouldnβt give for some real action.

Rala sat up as Aliah stood up, gathering the rest of her things from her mount. She crossed her legs and leaned back on her hands, eyes closed and face up towards the warm sun. As much as she liked night and the darkness it brought, she loved the warmth of the fireball in the sky. It didn't exactly help her out with her apprenticeship--it was more of a burden, lighting the world--but it was still nice.
When she opened her eyes again, she followed Aliah's gaze up the looming mountain in the distance and listened to her speak. "Did Rauru have you on patrol? That's better than my job. Impa just keeps me sitting around all day, 'concentrating on finding the aura of the princess.' It's so boring, and I don't see any point! If the princess was reincarnated by now, wouldn't we feel her already?" she blinked and swallowed. She almost felt abandoned by Zelda and Link even though she had never met either and was sworn to serve and protect the princess no matter what. And she also felt so sorry for Impa. The old sage loved that girl and cared for her in a way much deeper and older than Rala. Even though she acted strong, Rala knew how much it hurt her that she wasn't able to be there, to protect her from the sickness of death. Impa blamed herself.

Lucas hung back whilst the rest of his crowd began clapping in beat to the ocarina tune and dragging various women from the side lines to dance the night away with them. Lucas did not join in such festivities usually, a negative effect of living life as a smuggler, Lucas found it hard to step into any kind of spot light, he did not like to be the focus of any type of crowd. He simply stood among the on lookers, occasionally smiling to a passerby or sipping his mug of Ale.
Lucas gave special attention to the young girl playing the ocarina, she had sat upon the well quite innocently and seemed to play quite passionately. Lucas examined her movements, intrigued by her ability to make Kakariko come alive again.
βOur beauty is in the music we createβ Lucas smiled to himself.
He continued to gaze at the young girl casually as the world danced around him.
βI wonder if she knows anything about lutes...β Lucas asked himself quietly.
A young girl suddenly grabbed his arm, she wanted to dance with him. Lucas protested immediately, claiming she was too young and it wouldnβt be proper. But he found himself being urged on by the crowd itself and before he knew it he had put down his mug of ale and was spinning round with the young girl. Despite all this he couldnβt remove his eyes from the young girl sat upon the well playing her ocarina. He found something mesmerizing about her, something that made him feel somewhat uncomfortable. He found himself admiring her, enjoying her music. It was a feeling he did not enjoy, an awkward feeling that made him leave the dance and return to his ale.
He was getting carried away, dancing, enjoying music and distracted by talented girls. It was not Lucasβs way, it was not the way a Smuggler should conduct himself. He slinked back into the crowd and retrieved his mug of ale. Lucas stood amongst the people once more and watched as they danced and played music together. He smiled to himself, better to let the others have fun. He found it just as enjoyable, but still his gaze lay upon the talented girl, something about her was just so...intriguing.

Once she finished, there was a lot of clapping, βI'm glad you all enjoyed that piece, everyone. Now, we should all get to bed pretty soon, so I'll leave you all with one last, final tune, okay?β She said, bringing out her lute again, but, played a small cord, βI hope all of you had a fun time like I did... I'll play a lullaby I came up with. I don't expect you to collapse on the spot, but perhaps it will help you all get a good night rest, no?β she asked, and began to play a small tune, slow and sad, with light trills every now and then. Honestly, she herself didn't know where she came up with it... she had heard it in her dreams a few nights ago and, when she mimicked the tune, she had immediately felt pretty tired, and had fallen right back asleep. She figured the others would feel the exact same, though she wasn't exact;y sure.
βThank you all, and rest easy.β She said, yawning herself as she stood up. βWhat is WITH that song....β She said, yawning again , and began the slow walk home. βTake care, Salem.β She waved,
(Zelda's lullaby, if that wasn't obvious)

Serenade finished her second song and the crowd cheered. Salem smiled and cheered along with them. When everyone settled down she began to play her lullaby. The girl wrapped her arms around Salem and began to sway back and forth. Her head only came up to his chest. He laughed and put his arms loosly around her. Before long the crowd had begun to disperse and the girl he was dancing with had stopped moving. Salem looked down and to his surprise she had fallen asleep. He didn't even realize he was supporting all of her weight. He sighed and picked her up. Serenade stepped down and thanked the audience.
She waved to Salem as she left. Salem put the girl over his shoulder in a sort of firemans carry and waved back. He would have liked to walk her home, but he had more pressing matters to attend to. He returned the girl to a more comfortable carrying position and began to walk home. The girl had neglected to tell him her name so he had no idea who she was or where she lived, so he decided to just take her to his house.
He finally, after about ten minutes of walking, arrived at his house. He pushed open the door with his shoulder and walked in. He layed the girl on his couch and draped a blanket over her. He made his way to his bedroom and kicked off his boots. He lied in his bed and, before he had a chance to think, fell asleep.

For the rest of the trip to Hyrule she went about practicing her magic. She wasn't around Lake Hylia, and she was no longer at the Zora's domain, so now it was a little bit harder to control water because she had to rely solely on pulling the moisture from the air. It was easier at this point to control ice because the water molecules in the air were turned into cold air blasts, and she was creating snow balls. But that wasn't what she really wanted. She wanted an icicle. She kept focusing her energy on it. Around her, she was not aware of the time passing, and thus was able to continue on her journey, and it didn't seem to be taking that much time.

βI donβt know what weβre supposed to feel. Half of everything that Rauru tells feels like some half-hidden poetry spun around so many times that I donβt even know that heβs sure what the meaning behind it is. I just wish sometimes he would just point and say that is your goal,β she emphasized, pointing at some nondescript piece of the village in front of them. βDo that and you will succeed,β Aliah spoke as another sigh escaped her lips as she patted the neck of the horse once before starting down the staircase leading them into the main village.
βFor now, all I can tell you is that whenever it does come, Iβm going to be ready. Just hope that you can keep up,β Aliah remarked with equal parts tease and challenge.
At that moment, she was ready to walk on and continue with some other form of training, some other opportunity to get away from the things that were bothering the young woman and instead focus her energy on something productive. She was tempted to leave Rala in the dust and let the girl go about her own way.
βShe is young, but much will fall on her shoulders. You cannot bear this weight alone, child. In time, you will come to rely on her and the others more than you can possibly imagine. Better not to burn those bridges before you even find the river you need to cross.β
Rauruβs words burned in her mind, causing the girl to pace for a moment before emitted a slight moan and turning to her fellow Shiekah.
βI have to make a trip to the Hyrule Market this afternoon to pick up some sort of package for one of the village elders. It would be better if there were two of us,β she said, biting her tongue.

"My sweet song bird. You are coming with me back to my kingdom, where you shall be my queen." Nerosef said as the fires started up. He just smiled as a look of surprise when through her. "Now, if you don't comply with my demands. Innocent lives will be lost in a massive explosion. I want you to know, I don't want needless lives to be lost because of you. I know this is a bit much but, you will enjoy it. You shall have a nice life." Nerosef said to her. He needed her to complete his reign until Ganondorf came back.
One of his soldiers appeared in a corner and waited for a signil to continue the razing. They were itching for some destruction. She was smiling as the plan was working. Soon they would be on their way to the castle.

She was close to her house when the fires started, and that strange man appeared. At first, she thought, he was a traveler but, once he explained her intentions, her eyes went wide. βYou... you MONSTER!β She said taking a step back, hitting the wall of her house and she gave a slight gasp as she did.
Her mind began racing in a panicked frenzy, hastily trying to see another way out of this. She could always play the song she learned fro Guru-guru, and douse the fires, but then he could simply directly order killing. If she were to try and make a break for it, she MIGHT find someone capable of fending these people off... but most people wouldn't risk their lives... that was simply human nature.
The most important thing was the fires. She would wait until she was at the entrance to play the song of storms. That would alert the villagers to the face that something was going on, and there were enemies in their midst...
She shook her head... there was nothing much she could do in this situation, and pure fear had made her wide awake. βI'm going to get a change of clothes.β She said, walking into her house, and walked to her room, packing up a spare set of clothes. She looked, to where she had another Ocarina. She took out the one she used most, and hugged it tightly, then placed it on the bed, 'Salem.... I'm sorry.β She thought, willing him to take it, should he come h ere. She took the other one, and stashed it in her pocket, and headed outside.
'I'm ready... you demon.β She hissed, hating her own powerlessness. As she followed them outside the gates, she mentally shouted, β SOME ONE HELP! IM BEING KIDNAPPED!β Though she knew no one could hear her, she had a feeling that someone did... or perhaps it was just a hope.
She reached into her pocket, pulled out her Ocarina, and closed her eyes, playing the song of storms as she began walking, and the village began to be blanketed by rain.
She turned, looking back. βEveryone... I'm sorry.β She whispered, and began following the demon again.

Salem was in a dark void. He could see nothing. Nothing except a bright light in the distance. He squinted and began stepping towards it slowly.
"Salem... I'm sorry"
What was that, it sounded familiar, but it was too far away for him to tell who it was. He walked closer and the light began to take form. He squinted harder, the light was so bright. He shielded his eyes with his right hand while reaching out into the dark with his left.
"Salem... I'm sorry"
It was getting louder. It was a womans voice. He still could not place it. He continued approaching the light and it finally took a recognizable shape. It was a woman. A tall slender woman, holding an ocarina. Salem just couldn't make out her face.
"Salem... I'm sorry"
"Serenade?" Salem called to the light. The light dispersed and uncovered her face. The next second she started floating away. "Serenade?" Salem asked louder. She was leaving faster, and he began to chase her. "Serenade!" he yelled. She was going faster and faster, and he couldn't catch up. "SERENADE!!!!!" He screamed and fell to his knees as the light dissapeared and she was gone.
'salem... im sorry'

Salem sat up like a rocket. "Serenade." He didn't think about getting his boots, or anything else. The only thing on his mind was Serenade. He bolted from his room and out the door. He skidded to a halt. The village. It was burnt!. It was raining, which he guessed put out the fires, but all the abandoned houses were burnt to a crisp and smoldering. He knew something was wrong. He sprinted to Serenades house and opened the door. "Serenade?" he called, no answer. He plodded through the house calling her name over and over. Still no answer. He made it to her room and walked inside. She wasn't there. "Where the hell is she?" He said to no one.
He spotted her favorite ocarina on the bed after looking around for some time. He retrieved it from the bed. Something was telling him, he needed to keep it. He wasn't sure why, but he heeded his gut and pocketed it. He sighed and walked outside. gazing at the smoldering houses. "What happened here. Serenade where are you?" he said aloud. He flipped the wet white hair out of his face and stared at the sky.
"someone help. im being kidnapped"
It sounded like a mouses whisper, but Salem knew he heard something. He spun around and climbed on top of Serenades house. Once there, he scanned the village. "What is this?"
