Introduction
The continent of Noan-Zian is peaceful. It hasn’t always been so, but for now, at least, it is calm. It has been this way for at least a century, but that is no guarantee that things will last this way. In fact, the world is starting to shift, and no one knows the cause. They just know it has something to do with magic.
Magic is enabled by the mana given off by the six crystals around Noan-Zian. The types of Mana are; Lux, Terra, Pyro, Nix, Ventus, and Aqua. They form the elemental trios of Lux, Pyro and Ventus and Nix, Terra, and Aqua. Mages, when they first start, can only use spells in one element. Some never get past this, but the best of mages are able to learn spells of one or even two other elements from their triangle. The best of these best are apprenticed to the Archmages, mages who are able to use all six elements. There is one Archmage from each element, six in all, and they are universally respected as old and wise. These Archmages chose who will become their apprentice, and, when the time comes, pass down their powerful artifact to their apprentice, allowing the apprentice to utilize all 6 elements, and making him or her the newest Archmage. But these events aren’t seen as important to many people, seeing as most just want to live a normal life. And in these times, that isn’t too hard.
Unless, of course, you are a mercenary. Artur Normand leads a band of mercenaries called the Red Wolves, one of the few out there. The peace has made the army-for-hire business a little slow, but the group has been able to get by through hunting bandits and settling countryside squabbles. The group actually keeps growing, because for the first time in a century, the rumbles of disorder are starting again. Bandits have become more common. The weather has been acting strange. And, to top it off, Lor and Altyre, the two biggest cities on the continent, have begun to have arguments. What will happen next is anyone’s guess, but Artur and his band hope to be ready for it.
Remington Plains- Perhaps the term “plains” is a bit of a misnomer. The plains, while having quite a bit of flat land, are scattered with lone mountains wreathed in green. The plains produce enough crops and cattle for everyone on Noan-Zian. Much of the grain goes state to the major cities, but some also goes to Remington to be traded and sold to minor traders who sell it to the small towns around Noan-Zian.
The Aqua Lands- The lands in and around Dalnas are called the Aqua Lands for a good reason. The high concentration of Aqua mana causes storms to develop there on a weekly to daily basis. Showers are more common than sun, and strong thunderstorms aren’t all that rare either. Winter can bring snows and blizzards. The storms get blown over the Remington Plains, giving the crops there the necessary water to grow. Outside of being a major city and a gathering of Aqua mana, Dalnas is a major port, sending out and receiving shipping and cargo from all over the world.
The Lands of Light- The lands around Lor and the Lux Crystal are perpetually lit. As strange as it sounds, even when the sun is down, it is as bright as day. This is very disorienting to first time visitors (and even some residents) as it is very hard to tell what time of day it is. The perpetual light does allow for what the city has become known for; scholars and writers. For obvious reasons, the light makes reading and writing a much easier and all day task. The cities army is also well trained and disciplined, taking advantage of their perpetual day to work especially hard.
The Dark Lands- The lands around Altyre and the Nix Crystal are the exact opposite of those around Lor. It is always night there, with the stars in view at all times, and the moon visible when it would be night. It is also perpetually cold, both due to the lack of light and the fact that it is the southernmost point on Noan-Zian. Snow is common all seasons, although they usually will have light flurries as opposed to the snows and blizzards of Dalnas in winter. While such a bleak land might not seem to be very desirable place to live, it is still one of the largest cities on Noan-Zian, due mostly to the Nix Crystal, but also because of the large pine forests nearby. It is the biggest producer of pine wood on Noan-Zian, and the center of some of the bests carpenters and carvers out there.
The Great Desert – Far from the Aqua Lands, the Great Desert is a giant desolation and sun. Only a few creatures are able to survive the harsh environment of the desert. The only humans outside the city of Gestal to live in this desert are wandering nomads, moving from oasis to oasis. The desert is dotted with rock spires and other windblown forms, with the occasional rocky crag jutting up from the ground. Gestal is the only city in the desert wastes, and the best way to arrive there is by sea. Those who live there are mostly nomads who have settled down to trade with both the outside world and those who still wander the desert.
The Lux crystal is located in Lor, the City of Light.
The Pyro crystal’s location is unknown.
The Ventus Crystal is located on the Remington Plains.
The Nix Crystal is located in Altyre, the City of Darkness.
The Terra Crystal’s location is unknown.
The Aqua Crystal is located in Dalnas, the City of Water.
For magic to be used, it needs to be vocalized. There is always some form of chant that is said that allows for a spell to be cast or magic to be used. One must retain their concentration while reciting the chant for the spell to be cast. Stronger spells need longer chants. Better spellcasters barely need chants to use their most basic spells. Many Archmages have mastered many spells so well that they hardly need to say anything to use those spells. Of course, that has much more to do with their age and experience than it does with their Archmage status. Anyone can get good enough to cast spells with short chants with enough practice. Also, one does not need to be a mage to use magic, although most people are unable to do magic at all. A rare few people are able magic in conjunction with other skills, such as swordsmanship, archery, crafting, and more. However, they still need to say a chant to use spells, and as such, frontline fighters often use weaker spells with the shortest possible chanting time. And, since they are not mages by trade, they are limited to only one element.
The main group is a bunch of mercenaries under the command of my character. It can be as large as needed, with a mix of all sorts, from soldiers to mages to healers to archers. The youngest archmage is part of the group, having just been given his artifact from his master, the former Pyro archmage who died after giving it to him. You may also play as those who are currently not a part of the group, but get mixed up with them or join them (I will start with a recruiting stop in Remington) . I don’t really want people to play as the archmages, but you are more than welcome to have one of the apprentices. The archmage with the group needs to be over the age of 19 but under 26, seeing as he was an apprentice who became an archmage within the last year. Oh yeah, and for the Red Wolves, I need a second-in-command. Anyone who wants the position should tell me.

Stretching in his chair at the tavern, Artur wondered what the others would think when it was finished. He had already paid for most of it, and as no one else knew he had even had the idea, he figured it would make a good surprise. Then again, he wouldn't have enough to finish it if he didn't get any more missions. Artur yawned, bored, and pushed himself to his feet. He would have to wait here a little bit longer, but it didn't prevent him from going to check the message board. It usually held some small-time missions, even if they weren't worth much. It also held a recruitment poster of the Red Wolves, the only reason he was still here. He was here in case there was anyone who wished to join. Not much point recruiting if you weren't there to accept them. The others got to walk free, doing whatever, although they should be coming back soon. Until then, it was more waiting.
Once at the message board, he glanced at all the things that had been left there. Unfortunately, there was nothing there of interest to him. The "to him" was important, because there were missions there. They just weren't for very... savory jobs. Artur might have been a mercenary, but he had a conscious. He wasn't going to help bandits rob from the farmers around here. Already lounging back in the chair he had just left, he thought that maybe their would be a reward for stopping those robberies. Well, it was something to discuss when everyone was there.

He wondered how she was doing. Not that she couldn't fend for herself, she was a strong woman, and you didn't dare tell her otherwise. And really she needed to be, running an inn pretty tailored to the mercenary trade on the route between Lor, the desert and the heart of the Remington plains. If she appeared like some soft old lady nobody would bother to listen to her... And god knew he listened to her.
Turning his thoughts back to the task at hand he looked back at the pretty girl across the counter from him. "Come on, it's not like your mother is here" he added pleadingly, in stark contrast to his smile. "For your favorite customer?" he asked holding up his mug.
She glared at him and after his last comment slapped away his raised mug. He let the pewter container fly fom his hand and skid across the floor a ways, watching as it spun helplessly on the floor, spilling out the last few drops that had been left in it. He sighed, and walked over to the mug and picked it up, ignoring the stares that now followed him. He placed the mug back on the bar and smirked at the girl, "You ought to be pyro, girl, a simple 'no' would suffice. It's not the first time I've been refused a free drink." And at least she had the presence of mind to blush slightly. Too bad she was such a hothead, she was a good looking lass too.
He turned from her still smirking slightly as the tavern went back to it's usual clamour. And he found Artur sitting where he left him, still at his table in the tavern, talking with... someone. Huh, he hadn't been with the Red Wolves long, only about a month and a half, but he had never met this guy. Niel wondered to himself who he was. Well, one way to find out.
Neil walked up to the pair and moved two fingers up to his forehead and down in an almost half salute in greeting to Artur as he approached. "Hey." he said to Artur "Any news?"

“Ah! Brother Korin. I see you finally decided to let up on training and let your stomach work!” Barryn laughed as if he’d told the best joke in the world as he pulled out another bowl, slopping the meal inside before handing it over to Korin.
“No training today Barryn, Reyarch wanted to speak with me concerning the attempted raid last night.” Taking a seat on a nearby log, Korin blew on the stew once before taking a sip. “My compliments, Barryn. This is just what I needed.”
Laughing heartily still, Barryn slapped Korin over the back, but it seemed the young man was used to it, seeing as he didn’t spill his bowl. “Anytime my friend, anytime!”
Korin nodded, taking another sip. Forward and boisterous as Barryn was his honesty and loyalty always meant that Korin enjoyed his company. Still, he was more than a little surprised that the strongman was all he had to talk to.
“Barryn?”
“Yes, Brother? Did you need another serving? You are pretty scrawny after all.”
“Ah, No, thank you. I was just curious if you know where the others are? I imagine Juke has gone where he pleases, but Reyarch didn’t inform me that Lin and Ferma had left.” Korin turned slightly as another voice spoke, Barryn being cut off as a shadowed figure seemed to materialise from nowhere.
“The ladies said they were headed into town for supplies and jobs. I would have accompanied them, however, Lady Lamaimay was… rather insistent…” Juke, the Tengu, was resting on the same log as Korin, holding his cheek in order to hide the rather large hand imprint. Korin simply smirked slightly and sipped his stew, before yet another voice caught his attention.
”Commander Hartnell, there are still many more matters I need to discuss with you.” Reyarch Gertuth adjusted his glasses, making his way over to the trio as Korin sighed and nodded. It was understandable that he’d have to oversee Reyarch’s evaluation of the funds and injuries, but even he required a moment’s rest every now and then. Still, his sense of duty was strong, and with a simple salute, followed after the mage, his mind wandering slightly to how his two female compatriots were doing…

“Alright, that should be everything Barryn needed. All that’s left to do is see if we can find ourselves some work, and we’re done.” Lindell looked over the list she’d made for herself, crossing off the groceries she’d picked up. In truth, she had probably picked up a few non-essentials to wear, for both herself, and Ferma, but in her mind, they were quite entitled to their fair share of rewards.
Arms behind her head, Ferma traipsed beside Lin, looking entirely bored with doing the chores. “It’s about time. I can’t believe I slept through that raid, you and Korin got to have all the fun…” Ferma pouted and frowned, even as Lindell sighed.
“It’s not some game Ferma.” Lindell scolded slightly, but she’d had this discussion with Ferma plenty of times before.
“I know, I know, but it’s interesting at least…” Ferma mumbled as they headed into the bar, making their way over to the message board. It’d been a while since last they’d been in, Lin giving a soft wave to the bartender girl. Maybe they’d have a couple of drinks too.
Looking over the available work, she frowned slightly. None of it looked particularly friendly, and she bit her finger a little as she tried to come to a decision on what course to take. They’d have to do some sort of work, so she couldn’t go home empty handed. Still, she didn’t exactly want to help out bandits or anything of the like. Sighing again, she tugged off a couple of the least incriminating flyers, tucking them into her pocket.
“Huh, what’s this…? Red Wolves… Mercenary group recruiting?” Ferma spoke in surprise, Lindell turning to look at her and raise an eyebrow.
“What, we’re not good enough for you?” Lindell asked teasingly, ruffling Ferma’s hair.
“Ah! Hey, quit it! I didn’t say that! I was just thinking maybe we should go and see the competition! You know, rough ‘em up. That way, we’ll get the pick of the jobs.” Shrugging free of Lin’s grip, Ferma huffed, folding her arms.
“We’re mercenaries Ferma, not extortionists. We might end up working with these guys or against them, but we don’t hold any grudges. It’s just the way that business works.” Heading past her lancer compatriot, she took a seat, ordering a drink from the bar. The kid had a good heart, but she certainly had a lot to learn about the world…

“Ah, the shipment of food, right? From Lor? Yeah, we’ve been waiting on this one for a while. What took you guys so long?”
The magical girl heard the merchant and his supplier talking just outside, their conversation already too dull and boring for her to listen to the rest of. Merchants and suppliers? Ugh. That had nothing to do with adventure. Sure, a hero and his party would come across a merchant every now and then, but rarely were they fully included or involved in the important parts of those tales, especially the parts with all the bravery and excitement. So, she decided that the time had come for her to depart this uninteresting scene.
After shuffling through the supplies, she peered around the corner to ensure that no one was watching over the cargo hold. Unfortunately, a single guard was standing watch, his back currently turned to little Bianca. As his head began to spin around to see what all that rustling was about behind him, she dove headfirst into the pile, hiding herself once more. Drat. She’d need a plan to get out of here undetected. And after a few moments of thinking, she knew just what to do.
To the guard, it would seem like a stray piece of meat randomly flew out of the cargo hold and onto the ground in front of him, a few meters away. Puzzled, he walked over and picked it up, studying it, making sure it hadn’t sprouted wings. He shrugged before he went to put it back with the rest of the cargo. And by the time he returned, the little intruder had gathered her belongings, as well as some of the food around her, and fled, running down the alleyway into the quaint town of Remington.
“Excuse me!” Bianca shouted to the first person she saw in the street. She tugged on the gentleman’s trousers. “Excuse me! Down here!”
She continued to rudely tug on his clothes until he finally started paying attention to her. Not that it took all that long. He squatted down to her level before speaking.
“Oh, what’s wrong little girl? Are you lost?”
“Nope! I’m here to find adventure! I wanted to ask someone where I might be able to find some. You’re the first person I’ve seen, so I’ll ask you. Do you know?”
The man gave Bianca a funny look as he stood back up, cocking his head to the side.
“Adventure? Aren’t you a little young to be going on an adventure?”
“No way! I'm awesome! Look at what I can do!” She waved her hands in a circular motion, and started up the relatively short chant for a weak spell such as the one she was about to conjure.
“The backlit canopy of the world...Starry Dream!”
Suddenly, a bunch of brightly coloured stars appeared around her, Bianca doing a little twirl and a flourish with her staff as she showed off her move. It was at least very visually impressive.
“Amazing, right?” She grinned wide at the man.
The man shook his head. “Little girl, you should really go back home to your parents. I’m sure they’re worried sick about you. Did you run away?”
Almost instantly, as soon as he began speaking, she put on her best pouty face.
“Look, mister servant man, I’d really appreciate it if you just told me, okay? I can take care of myself. I just wanna have some adventure and excitement! And you’re obligated to tell me. Or else.”
The man chuckled. Servant man? This girl was too much. “Or else what?”
“Or else I’ll whack you with my staff!” She pulled out her oversized staff and waved it menacingly. “Don’t make me angry, buster. I know I’m super cute and pretty and all, but you wouldn’t like a girl like me when I’m angry.”
He was still chuckling and smiling, but brought up his hands defensively. It was true. She really was super cute. Even when she was angry.
“Okay, okay, that’s enough. You don’t have to go that far.” He put his hands down and sighed. “If you want to try and find some adventure, your best bet would be to start over at the job board near the bar.”
She cocked her head to the side, still gripping her staff with both hands as she looked at him.
“The job board at the bar? Wuzzat?”
“Oh, uh...it’s just that way.” He pointed directly at it. As luck would have it, they were already relatively close to it. How utterly convienient.
“I still say you should head home to your parents and...”
“Thanks a bunch, servant man! I’ll see you around!”
The man shook his head as he watched Bianca head off, turning and going back to his normal day.
Bianca, meanwhile, ran into a certain pair of girls on her way to the board, bumping into them accidentally as she ran past.
“Sorry!” She yelled out, but continued past them until she reached the board, reading each job description over.
“Boring, boring, stupid...hey...what’s this?” She leaned forward and took a closer look at the picture. ‘Red Wolves Mercenary group’. Mercenaries? The word sounded familiar, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on why. At the moment, though, out of all the stuff posted on the board, this one seemed by far the most interesting. Especially with the word recruiting. Could it mean they were wanting people to go on an adventure? If that was the case, she wanted to be signed up right now! But...still, there might be something else cooler on the board. She continued examining it over. Or at least, she would until she was interrupted or finally made a decision.

He leaned against his staff, tottering through the streets. He settled to make due in the tavern, no doubt there would be a dice game or two. He made his way there, shuffling the entire way, ignoring those that gave is hidden face odd looks. He made his way into the tavern, settling himself into a chair in the corner, watching everyone that left and entered. He propped his staff against the wall, within easy reach.

He walked up behind her as she was engrossed in the poster. She looked pretty young to be looking at mercenary work, but Artur didn't turn down people based on age. He said to her, "So, miss, you looking at trying to become a mercenary? You sure you don't want to do something safer and better paying?"

"Excuse me sir. Where may I find a place to rest for some time?"
The person Emma had asked was an older gentleman and seemed to be startled by the question; However he responded all the same
"Ah you gave me a little fright young lady. But all the same there is a Tavern just down the road where many travellers spend thier time."
"Thank you sir." Emma responded while giving a slight nod and continued on her way.
Upon arrival at the tavern Emma examined the room, there were people scattered through the place mostly in groups of two or more and most had a drink in hand. Another thing caught her eye as it appeared to be a message bored, however it was currently surrounded by a few others and she decided to leave it for later and she continued to the bar. After taking a seat the barmaid came over and simple asked.
"What would you like?" to which Emma responded
"Just some water thank you."

“So what you’re trying to say is that we’re inadvertently acting as a shield for the nearby towns, and so the bandits are hoping to make us relocate?” Surmising the situation, Reyarch nodded, drawing another circle on the grid.
“If we were to move our base of operation to here, slightly off of the main trade highway, we could significantly decrease the level of bandit attacks, and quite possibly generate some work from the local villages in giving them the opportunity to pay for our protection.”
Waving his hand dismissively at the plan, Korin held his chin firmly. “Correct as your observations may be, I’m not as callous as to move our base just to convenience ourselves at the cost of others, nor is it practical given the size of our forces.”
“Then the alternative is to set an example to the local ruffians and eliminate a number of them, dissuading them from any sort of-“
“Striking first isn’t always necessarily wise. I wouldn’t want to stoke the fires of revenge too hastily, or unnecessarily.” Interrupting Reyarch, Korin closed his eyes in thought. “Perhaps we can reach an agreement with them?”
“With bandits, sir? Not only can they be considered separate entities, I doubt any of them would listen to reason, the disgusting cretins…” As if tasting something foul, Reyarch made a grimace. “More to the point, I’m quite certain they’d try to cut as down on our approach.”
“Well, I trust your opinion on the matter then, Rey. However, I don’t think I can condone any of the available options, so we’ll hang tight for now, and perhaps relocate if a better job opportunity approaches.” Korin stated, unfolding his arms, Reyarch nodding and giving a soft salute.
“Speaking of job opportunities, though I can’t confirm anything just yet, I may just have a lucrative business opportunity lined up. I’ll give you the finer details after I’ve done some further investigation.”
Korin gave a nod, making his way to exit the tent. “I look forward to the report.”

“Cheers. Oh, and milk for the little lady.” Lindell smiled as the waitress poured out the drink, nodding to her request regarding Ferma, even amongst the farm-girl’s protests.
“Oh come on! I can order my own drink!” Ferma continued to pout and make a bit of a scene. “I’m old enough to have whatever you can!”
Lindell sipped her drink once, smirking greatly as she had a devilish idea. Casually, she placed it on the bar in front of Ferma.
“Well then, prove it. Bottoms up.” Still smirking as she eyed Ferma, and the very full glass in front of her, she watched the blonde haired pikeman take a deep breath, clutching the glass. In one swift motion, Ferma went to down it, before grimacing and violently coughing and spitting up what she had taken in, pounding her chest a moment as she set the glass down, Lin’s laughter echoing about the tavern.
“Ugh, that tastes awful! What are you trying to do, poison me?!” Ferma shoved it back to Lindell, who was wiping the tears of laughter from her eyes, only managing to stop her snickering by taking another swig herself.
“Oh my, your expression was too priceless…” Ferma groaned at her failed attempt to prove her maturity, dejectedly receiving the milk that had finally arrived, taking a long chug to wash out the horrible taste from her mouth, giving a contented sigh as she almost downed the lot.
“Aww, come on Ferma, don’t look too down. It’s a bit of an acquired taste really.” Lin gave her a playful shove in the shoulder. “I don’t even think I could down it in one go.”
Skeptically, Ferma glared back at her compatriot. “You’re evil, you know that?”
“Ha ha, maybe. Tell ya what, next drink is on me.” Lamaimay smiled again, that devilish smile.
“Really? Awe-Hey, wait! What about this drink?!” Further laughter came from the archer.

"So, miss, you looking at trying to become a mercenary? You sure you don't want to do something safer and better paying?"
The suddenly startled little girl eeped and quickly spun around, backing up against the board before she noticed the man’s expression. It seemed the gentleman harboured no ill will, at least by the look on his face. She calmed down a bit as she continued to eye him slightly suspiciously. That is, until she realized who he was. She took a look at the poster with his description, then back at him, then back at the poster one more time, before finally turning back to him.
“Heeeeey! You’re the guy! The guy that this poster’s on about!” She exclaimed, then jumped around and did a spin, waving her staff about as she twirled around in the cutest of fashions. “Yaaay! I didn’t expect you to be here! You know, your poster is about the only one that seems interesting enough on this stupid board. The rest of these are sooooo boooooring.” Solely based on the word 'recruit' and the unknown word 'mercenary', but she didn't mention that, of course.
She paused for a moment as she processed what the man had said fully. Mercenary work. There was that word again. Her stories never really detailed whatever this ‘mercenary work’ was, but with a word like recruit next to it, it just had to be an exciting, adventurous kind of deal. She decided to reply directly to his statement.
“Become a mercenary?” She asked, putting a hand on her chin for a moment of thought. “I don’t really care about whether it’s safe or if it pays well. If this ‘becoming a mercenary’ business gives me an adventure to go on, then I’m all for it!” She pointed up to the roof with her left hand, then smiled and giggled a bit, excited to finally have the chance she always dreamed of. Or at least, so she thought. She gave him a cute, but almost pouty look before asking the next question. “You are recruiting people to go on an adventure, right?”
She shook her head and stuck out her hand, speaking up before he could even really answer. She simply assumed his answer was yes, really.
“Where are my manners?” Not that she actually had any, of course. “My name’s Bianca. Pleased to meet you, mister...” She looked at the poster, then turned back around. “...Artur, is it?” She gave him a smile. “But you can just call me ‘magical pretty princess’ if you reaaaaally want. Tee-hee...”

"Oi, Artur!" Hallik grabbed his staff and used it to hoist himself out of his chair, his feigned stoop returning at once. He shuffled over to the man and peered around him arm, eyeing the girl he was talking to. "What are you talking to her for? She should be learning the home." He chuckled at himself, the nhe caught sight of the girls staff. Silver and gold.
"So, girl. You a theif?" He went to grab the gold plate of the staff to wrest it out of her hands. It wouldn't do for children to get into these bad habits.

"So, girl. You a theif?"
The object whose ownership was in question was a staff. It was nearly twice as long as his own, and it looked somewhat impractical with all that gold, although getting hit on the head with that thing would certainly leave more than a bruise. Calmly striding over to the group, he took a few minutes to analyse the situation before saying anything. "If we can ignore the staff issue for the moment, I'd say that you should consider recruiting her. Judging by the staff she carries, which is usually a weapon favoured by mages, I will assume that she is familiar with spellcasting. Also, Artur, you did say that the Red Wolves needed a few more mages, correct?" Having said his piece, Nicholas casually leaned on his own staff as if it was a slightly oversized walking stick.

And as he expected, as he looked around he could see a lot of weapons, bows, swords, axes, a hammer or two, staffs. Guess there were a lot of mercenaries around looking for jobs. That seemed to happen a lot in Remington, people that are passing through stop here for a warm bed to sleep in and decide to check out the board to see if there's anything easy before they get onto their way. He looked back over at the small crowd that Artur was in below the board and nodded slightly to himself. Although... with this many mercs around it could turn to be a volitile concoction indeed fighting over one job or another.
He leanded back in his chair and looked around the room to find who he thought would be the most likely canadates to be the ones to throw the first punch when a girl's uproarous laughter came from the bar him that almost knocked him off of his chair. He let his chair fall back down to four legs as he spun around his head in it, looking at two girls sitting at the bar him, and immediately sized up 2 things about them.
1) They were armed. A bow and a spear... halberd on second glance.
2) They were both very good looking.
He sighed as he tipped his chair back looking away wishing he had his own spear, he had left it hidden inside the inn they were staying at. It wasn't like there was any place you could store a spear to carry it anyway. But at least he was wearing his gauntlets, so he wasn't completely unprotected.

Ejin needed to rest for the night so as to start his journey early tomorrow. However, as he didn't know the layout of these temperate cities that well, he needed to have some direction on how to find a cheap, reliable inn. The taverns he'd encountered seemed the most welcoming and knowledgeable, so that seemed like the best place to start. Besides, the place may even be a hybrid tavern and inn, he thought.
The tavern, in contrast to the inn, was much easier to find. The booming noises of uproarious laughter and dozens of people speaking or murmuring to each other pierced the relatively silent air of the evening in Remington. He began to walk towards the noise, and soon enough he was standing at the door of the tavern. The warmth from a large fire and the smell of delicious foods and drinks struck him as soon as he arrived, and he felt immediately comfortable. He shifted his polearm across his back and stepped out of the cool night air.
It was immediately clear that something was afoot, as several groups of people seemed to have either disagreements or important discussions going on, yet Ejin ignored all of this and simply sat on an empty stool at the bar. The barkeep glanced at him expectantly, so he ordered a mug of ale to let him know he wasn't just taking up a seat. While he waited for his drink he took a moment to survey the crowd. Many people here were armed, making Ejin feel thankful he had decided to bring his own. From his seat he could see a message board across the room that was covered in several pieces of paper, making it clear that this place was probably the center of mercenary activity in the Plains. He should have been expecting that, as both the town and section of the continent shared the same name. The thought of being surrounded by warriors was somewhat unsettling, but to Ejin it was also a blessing. Mercs had a lot of info, and while they would probably charge favors or gold for it Ejin was willing to go through any lengths to find what he wanted. He would wait and watch the groups until the leader became apparent.

“Ahhh! Pervert alert! Don’t touch me!” She cried as the man went to grab at her staff, of course thinking he was grabbing at her. “Don’t mess with this pretty princess!” She shoved off a couple advances from the fellow in question with a few swipes of her staff as best as she could until another man came up to ‘help’ her in a sense. Inadvertently, it seemed, but it was welcome help nonetheless.
"If we can ignore the staff issue for the moment, I'd say that you should consider recruiting her...”
Bianca opened her eyes again as the accusing man backed off, her ‘saviour’, a tall man dressed in a long white cape and carrying a rod that wasn’t nearly as fancy as her awesome staff, stepping in and already vouching for her. Not that she heard all of what he had to say. She was still processing what that mean man said before, thinking it through in her head and relating it to the new guy’s response.
“Ohhhhh, you thought I was a thief and that this thing was stolen because it’s so fancy. I suppose it does look pretty amazing...” Bianca stated, marveling at her own staff for a few moments. “...But how dare you accuse me of such a dirty deed, you lecherous cretin! I would NEVER do such a thing!” She looked completely flabbergasted. Looking as dignified as she knew how, which was quite, since she was rich, she closed her eyes and put her hand on her heart. “I’m the member of a noble family, after all. I don’t need to resort to such petty actions such as stealing. Tch.”
She put her hand down and looked around. How wonderful this was, to have all this attention. She’d never had this much attention from people who weren’t servant before. How invigorating! So this is what it felt like to be social. She kind of liked it. Why didn’t she ever try to get this attention before? It was already so much fun.
“I heard that mister who saved me say that he thought I was a mage,” Bianca said after a few moments of processing her thoughts, her audience still surprisingly captive. “I’m not entirely sure what that is, but it sounds like magic, and I can do magic and stuff. I’ve been working reaaaaallly hard to try and get myself prepared to be useful on an adventure. So, will you pleeeease take me on your adventure? Pretty please? I wanna go on an adventure sooooo baaaad! And I promise you won’t regret it!”
The little girl would probably just continue begging until she got her way, being as annoying and as pesky as possible about it. Not that she wasn’t already, however.

Well, she was interesting. Strange was probably a better word. Her way of talking was like nothing he had ever heard before, and it was mildly annoying. Then again, she seemed as naive as an infant (or close to it). It seemed she really didn't know what a mercenary was. She wanted to go on an adventure. He responded, "Well, yeah, you could say we go on adventures. Before you join, I need to know what you can do. But, uh... You do know what a mercenary is, right?"

"Hello, man. What brings you out of the wastes?!" He was excited, it had been a while since he had seen anyone even remotely familiar. He pounded his hand on the bar, implying an order.

He was suddenly awoken from his daze as a man flopped down into the seat next to him and immediately started a conversation. Hello, man. What brings you out of the wastes?! Hee looked to his left and spotted the man who was apparently named Hallik. Ejin hadn't noticed before, but he looked rather strong for his relatively short height. He also could not discern many features that lay under the large white cloak he wore, save his incredibly tan skin. Perhaps he was another man from the desert? That would explain his openness towards him; not many people left the desert once they went there, so he probably didn't see many others from their homelands.
He dropped a few coins on the counter and accepted his ale as he responded to the man. "I'm performing research for someone back in Gestal. However, I've kinda run short on luck. I stopped here in town so I can restart my journey with a fresh mind tomorrow." He sipped his alcohol before erupting in a massive coughing fit. It was extremely powerful compared to the spirits they had in his neighborhood, and it was a wonder the little bit he drank didn't get him immediately drunk. He put the mug back on the counter. "If it isn't too apparent, I just left a few weeks ago."

“No use? No use? Didn’t I just tell you? I’ve been learning some useful spells over the past few years just so I can go out on an adventure! Hmph. It seems mister Hat Lick is not only a poor judge of someone of tremendous character, such as myself, but also completely deaf. How problematic for him...” It seemed she’d already created a bit of animosity, and she had barely even been with the group for only a few moments. Still, she chuckled quietly to herself, really enjoying the jokes she was dishing out. Soon she snapped out of it, however, as Artur addressed her once again.
“You do go on adventures?” Bianca asked, and her eyes lit up. “Hurray! Finally, some real excitement! Some real fun! Oh boy, oh boy, I can’t wait...” Already, her mind was filled with the thoughts of the fairy tales she’d heard so often when going to bed, racing through the events with much nostalgia and joy. So much, in fact, that she almost forgot to answer the rest of Artur’s questions.
“Ohhh, right. Uh, sorry. I’m just really excited to finally venture out into the outside world. But, uh...you wanna know what I can do, huh?” She paused for a moment, putting a hand to her chin again. “I suppose silly little spells like my cute little star and heart flourishes aren’t what you’re looking for. You wanna see how I can be useful, right?” Another pause for a moment of thought. How would she put this...
“Well, I was initially studying to become a magical medical practitioner, so I’ll be able to heal wounds and cure folks. I can’t show you that now, obviously. Unless you let me whack mister pervert on the head over there.” She pointed at Hallick, who seemed too busy to even notice, and continued. “But what I can show you is a little trick I’ve managed to teach myself over these past few years. Check this out.”
She twirled her staff around once before she began the chant.
“Stars of great and fantastical power, grant my friends and I your supreme might. Share with all of us your exalted holy light!”
Suddenly, Bianca and the party members surrounding her found a pair of silver and gold glowing rings lights shining around their waist. And if they noticed, a surge of energy would seem to rush through them. They'd feel on the whole much, much stronger.
“That’s what I like to call ‘Imbuing with Magic Power’. I’m still trying to think of a cooler name, though. The spell itself is a mixture of two buffing spells for both power and defense, but it’s all very complicated, so I won’t bother to explain. I don’t even fully understand it myself, anyways. I just know how to cast it.” She giggled nervously.
“So, does that mean I’m in? I’m a good little helper, right? Great for adventuring. You should totally take me. Please? Pretty please?”
In her concentration on the spell, she’d completely forgotten the mercenary question. Not that it would’ve seemed to deter her from joining, even if she knew exactly what it was. And once again, she’d probably continue pestering until she got her way. Just as usual.

“So, does that mean I’m in? I’m a good little helper, right? Great for adventuring. You should totally take me. Please? Pretty please?”
That last sentence went right through the 'tough guy' pretence Nicholas had successfully managed to maintain since a few months after he had started his own adventures, although he preferred to think of it as an 'everlasting quest for knowledge'. "Well, you have my vote, girl. It'll be good to have a dedicated healer with us, wouldn't you agree, Artur?" As his new employer gave their verdict, Nicholas switched his gaze back to the healer. "If you'd like, maybe we could both demonstrate our spells on that so-called 'pervert' of yours, hmm?" Chuckling a little to show that he was merely joking, he awaited Artur's decision.

“Of course! Anytime, brother!”
Korin nodded, drawing the basic steel blade and charging in towards the mountain-man. Seeing as this was just a spar, Korin felt it much more practical for the warrior to get practice with more typical weapons. Clashing with the axe, Korin forced the sword forward a moment before pulling it back, darting to the right for a quick strike. Stumbling to the side, Barryn barely avoided the slice of the blade, but quickly found himself off balance as Hartnell continued to pressure his defences.
“Your strength is your greatest asset Barryn, but your main weakness is your speed. A fast opposition close to you will give you the most problems.” As if demonstrating the point, Korin continued to close the gap between Barryn and him, invading his space and constantly striking at him.
“You need to shut down my options and force me to block. You’ve got the weight and size to win out in any power struggle, so put it to good use.” Korin, lightened up a bit, backing away and letting his comrade get his footing, Barryn catching his breath a moment.
“Har! Not bad, but what if I’m the one to strike first?” Hastily running up to Korin, Barryn prepared a large horizontal swing, only to have Korin duck at the last moment, sweeping out the larger man’s legs and sending him tumbling over the top and rolling into a nearby tree.
“You were off balance and predictable. Don’t let your emotions get the better of you, nor commit to a wild swing praying for it to hit. You must earn your opening and capitalise on it.” Korin sheathed the sword, heading over to Smith and helping him up.
“Argh! I don’t know brother, it all seems so complicated!” Barryn scratched his head, Korin laughing a little as he patted him on the back firmly.
“Nevermind, it’ll come to you in time. You’re still a formidable opponent in your own right, you just need some practice. You didn’t think I could ever teach you Pyro magic, but look at you now.” Korin continued to offer his encouragement, often having used similar talks to motivate the woodcutter.
At Korin’s words, Barryn grinned wildly, before going into one of his trademarked hearty laughs. “That’s right! Everyone now fears the great Barryn of the flame!”
Korin laughed as well. Strange as Barryn was, Korin couldn’t think of a better sparring partner.

Ferma sighed, kicking her feet back on forth on the barstool as Lindell chatted with a few of the bar patrons, still having the occasional drink. Having amused herself watching all the fuss over the little girl at the job board (Who, was infinitely less cute then herself. And probably less useful), now that they were talking at a level she couldn't eavesdrop on, she was B O R E D bored. She was sure Lin was having plenty of fun, but just sitting around wasn’t Ferma’s idea of a good time.
“Come on Lin, hurry up… I’m bored out of my brain here!” Clerven whined, tugging on the sleeve of her companion. She’d head back on her own, but one of Korin’s rules insisted that everyone at least travelled in pairs for protection.
Turning back to face Ferma, Lamaimay sized up that expression. Well, it had been fun while it lasted. Still, she had some last minute business to finish up.
“Why don’t you play some darts or something? I’ll be finished in a tick.” Turning back to the man she’d been chatting to, she laughed at his jokes like they were the best in the world, Ferma grumbling and hopped off the barstool, heading off to the corner and tugging the darts free from the hole ridden wall and board.
“Stupid Lindell…” She mumbled, throwing the first dart clean into the bullseye, perhaps with more force then was necessary as she continued to complain to herself.

“Stars of great and fantastical power, grant my friends and I your supreme might. Share with all of us your exalted holy light!” she cried out, and suddenly, Artur found himself feeling stronger. Wow, she could do this? There weren't many healers out there to begin with (at least not ones that didn't run hospitals and the like) but for one to have a spell like this? This was a nice surprise, that was for sure. Even if she didn't know what a mercenary did, she wouldn't be caught up in the unpleasant bits of it. Maybe that could preserve her innocence. He answered back, "Alright, I will take you. Just remember what you said about not complaining about the pay. And since you are a healer, you'll have to stay back from the main bits, alright?" He looked around to locate the rest of his crew. Artea was out doing something he had asked, so she might not be back for awhile. Neil had stolen the spot where Artur had been sitting. Hallik was talking to someone else at the bar, who looked like he was also from the Desert. Where was Will, though? Looking in the corner, he saw him, reading another book in silence. He called out, "Hey, Will, get over here for a sec!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
William Aeilson looked up at the sound of his name. He saw Artur, the man who had called him, standing with a pair of other people. Curious. Who were they? He walked over after carefully marking his place in his book. Will mouthed to Artur, "What's up?" but Artur just motioned for him to get there all the faster. When he got there, Artur addressed the two other people there first. "Guys, this is William Aeilson, the only mage we used to have. Will, these guys are new mages. Just so you know, alright?" Will nodded to Artur. He wasn't entirely sure why he had been called over in the first place.

I'm rambling, I am just saying that I am losing interest in this RP. Mainly because it is going fairly... slow. Is there anything I am missing here? Is Chari busy with something? I don't know! Whatever the reason for his absence, I still think he could've mentioned something about being busy, no?
Wow, I am trying my best not make y'all hate me. lol. But, Artea is abandoning her position and leaves the team. T'was a good time with everyone here, but I don't see my interest returning any time soon.
Once again, apologies for any inconvenience and whatnot.
Cheers,
Archlkan

Re: [OOC] Legendia Crystallinus
But, I really don't know if I'll get filled with disappointment, or fear from a sudden pain-scream.
Whatever the case, I think you get my point. Is this going to roll again, soon?
Re: [OOC] Legendia Crystallinus
Niel really doesn't have anything to do that would be of any concequence right now, so it would be a rather meaningless post. But I could make one if absolutely necessary.
