Description

:: Puppet Master ::

Your Role-player Name :: Adantas

Your View On Role-playing :: I had never heard of Role-Playing until a few months ago and now I cannot get enough of it. I guess what attracts me to Role-Playing is the unexpectedness. What I mean by that is despite having a plot and an idea of where the direction of the RP is going there is no real way of knowing how characters react with each other. I view Role-Playing as a story in which I get to control one aspect but then the rest is a mystery. I love reading but I always wish that I could be part of the story and Role-Playing has given me that opportunity. However, despite all this it is very dependant on other people therefore cause some problems. This includes some people lacking the same commitment as myself (as in they don't post as often), they don't post as in-depth as I might want them to and that some aren't as imaginative when it comes to different options that are present in a one on one conversation. But overall my view on Role-play is that it is a very creative way of allowing different people to interact through a love of the imagination and writing.

Your Idea of Character Development :: Character development is incredibly important and I think is equally constructed through the situations in the RP and the person's ability to write. A character should develop through interaction with people, obstacles and their own inner understanding within the RP. And that can only be achieved if people are given the chance to fully explore their character.

Your Estimate on Time Commitment :: I am a very committed person and I will always check the RP at least once a day. I usually post at least once a day also, maybe more depending on RL.

Niles Reid

Nick Name :: Niles

Age :: 17

Face Claim :: William Brent Unger

Blood type :: Full Blood

Sexuality :: Heterosexual

House :: Hufflepuff

:: Puppet Appearance ::

Height ::5ft 11

Weight :: 70kgs

Eyes :: Green/hazel

Hair :: Rustic, wood brown

Physical Description :: Supposedly your average guy, maybe more on the leaner side, but otherwise there doesn't seem to be anything special. He likes to keep himself well toned, not overly muscular, but just enough to show that he's strong. Not that his physique would really show that, but he likes to think that. A stunning smile that fills his whole face and always reaches his eyes, showing his genuiness. Personally, he thinks that his hair is just that tad too poofy and would rather it be a little shorter, but for some reason he can't bring himself to cut his boyish locks. He's never liked the feeling of hair in his face, so really the fact that it sticks up by itself most of the times suits him. He is proportionally sound, except maybe his feet which he hates for feeling so large and clumsy. On the whole, he is the perfect example of that naive boy nextdoor, the cute one, that no-one really takes seriously.

Identifying Factors :: Mainly his megawatt smile, but if his hair was pushed out of the way of his ears, then people will find there is a small chip in his ear, from a spell gone wrong. Also, despite school policy about jewellery, he never removes the thick silver chain necklace that can be clearly seen when he hasn't got his tie on.

:: Puppet Personality ::

Quirks :: When nervous or finds himself in awkward situations he does a cute little half smile and always attempts a knock knock joke, which inevitably makes it more awkward but then people at least laugh. He also has a habit of fiddling with his ear, gently fingering the missing part, when he is thinking deeply about something.

Personality :: The happy-go-lucky guy that's always got a smile on his face. He is the type of guy that isn't afraid to approach anyone and easily makes friends. He is quick to laugh and likes to make others laugh too. Niles is extremely corny and cheesy and relishes in it. If you don't act immature once in a while then where is the fun in life. Of course, it can be argued that at times he may overdo on the immaturity. That and optimism. Even in dire situations, Niles can never see the bad side of things. It's as if his brain has been engrained with sunshine. It is impossible for him to have a dark thought and never will he allow an ounce of negativity in. It can often be irritating to no end for those close to him, but that doesn't stop him from reminding them that every frown is a smile upside down. When he's not in a silly mood, then he can be quite the thoughtful and caring guy. He always thinks of others before himself and would do anything for his friends. His loyalty knows no bounds. In addition to his optimism, he was the patience of a turtle. No matter what, it takes a great deal to rile Niles up. He also, isn't the type of guy to argue about anything. And while he loves to play competitive sports, he really doesn't care if they win or lose as long as he tries his hardest. He is often disappointed in himself if he couldn't give 110%.

Fun Facts ::
> Is a sickening optimist
> Can be a bit immature at times but in that cute goofy way
> Has a pair of deep purple fluffy socks that he wears to bed
> Is a hopeless romantic and some day believes that he will find that perfect girl
> Enjoys physical exertion, and doesn't mind getting sweaty.

Pet :: Bengal cat named Cleo. An accidental encounter with a very rebellious cat when searching for a new pet to go to Hogwarts.

Family :: Brought up within a wealthy family, Niles didn't really have much contact with his parents. They had made it well in the muggle world and despite their blood statuses weren't too interested in the magical side of life. They were generally away for most of Niles childhood, occasionally taking him and his younger sister with them on their overseas travel. But it was mainly the 'nanny' or Aunty Cel who took care of the children. He loved her greatly and has cherished fond memories of her. She was the one who taught him that a frown was simply a smile upside down and that even though his parents weren't always around they still loved him. She had been a cheerful woman, no older than at least 30 but she was slightly plump and had short cropped hair that seemed to age her. She was the very embodiment of a mother hen, very protective of her little chicks. She gave the two Reid children lot's of love and attention, never allowing them to be sad for a moment. She was always quick to laugh and Niles would always try his very best to come up with new jokes that would make her laugh.

His sister, Jacinta, was very important to him also, she had been diagnosed with aspergers disorder, and it was his duty to himself to take care of her. He didn't like that his sister found socialising so difficult and she would often shrink into herself when there was even the slightest of possibility that she felt that she could be rejected. Since there parents were hardly around, she at times took that upon herself and her ability to deal with the 'rejection' seemed to cause anxiety attacks and other related acts. Thankfully, the adoration from her brother and Aunty Cel, would help her get through. The three of them would spend countless hours playing board games, cards and even learning a few spells.

When his parents enrolled him at Hogwarts, he wasn't entirely sure whether to be thrilled or nervous. His sister still had a few years to go before she would enter and that meant that he wouldn't be seeing her or Anty Cel as often as he would have liked. But while it was a completely new concept for him to be leaving, it was also fascinating and he realised he really was excited. It also gave him the chance to learn magic, not just the little tid bits that Aunty Cel was showing them, and in the holidays it would give him something to show his sister who had a near obessive fascination with memorising spells.

While there is a well known family tree for the Reids, Niles never took much interest in it considering most of them were old, dead or simply just didn't visit. If he were to be asked whether there was anyone important in his family, he would stare blankly at them.

History :: Having always been surrounded by Magic, it was no surprise to Niles when his parents informed him that he was going to Hogwarts. For most of his life his parents had informed him of many things, many that he had no choice in. It was probably his lack of control in his life that caused his laid back nature, and the fact that he wasn't the best of choice when making a tough decision. But when it came down to it, he had lived a life of luxury and had spent many a holiday around the world, causing mischief with his sister and just having general fun with Aunty Cel. Of course, it was always slightly undertoned by the fact that their parents never seemed to have time for them, but it taught Niles that he had to protect his sister, since his parents weren't around, the responsibility fell to him. He would spend hours with his sister having all kinds of fun, but of course there were times that his parents insisted that he meet other children of their wealthy friends. Majority of them were in fact muggles and so he was under strict instruction never to even hint at magic. Never being one to argue with his parents he did as they said, he was courteous when introduced, but soon found that the other boys were complete and utter spoilt brats. Niles was a friendly kid, happy and cheerful, able to create fun out of nothing. But of course, those boys weren't interested whatsoever and when they found that he wasn't like them, then he was labelled the weirdo and quickly became the verbal punching bag. It was at that moment that his sister, hearing the commotion came to investigate and seeing the bombardment that the other boys were giving her brother, caused a bout of anxiety and fear in her. She began to cry. Seeing another weakling caused the bullies to change targets, frightening poor Jacinta into more tears. Witnessing the cruelty before his eyes, Niles was overcome by fury. With young and wild magic coursing through him and fuelled by his emotions, it was like he had fired an air rifle at them. Blasting a blanket of air at the boys and knocking them off their feet. The violence that he committed, albeit very minuscule and in the name of justice, terrified him. He could not forgive himself for doing so and losing control.

That was the last incident he ever allowed himself to make in front of muggles. There had been numerous occasions at school where he had made mistakes, but they were usually on the scale of pranks gone wrong. But ever since that day, any magic that was in the form of offence/defence or just general use against another person, Niles greatly disliked it. He preferred any other magic, be it transfiguration or charms. Hogwarts had been good to Niles, only his mother had actually attended and she had been in Ravenclaw, so it was expected for him to be chosen for that house too. But of course, come sorting time the hat felt his loyalty, patience and determination and without a doubt put him in Hufflepuff. He met everyone very quickly, unafraid to just chat to people. By the end of first term, everyone knew him. And to him, he liked socialising with people, he could tell that they were genuine, unlike those boys from all those years ago. As the years passed and close friendships formed, Niles time at Hogwarts was closing to an end. The school had given him so much and he felt it his duty to return something to it.

Sample Post :: Small excerpt from Calisma

She had begun moving again, her feet leading her when she herself did not know where to go. The staff must have been around here somewhere, it couldn't be far because it was as if Cord could feel that ever trusting presence. But she needed guidance, and guidance she was given. Over the sudden howls that had blanketed the air, and furious hissing of the spirits, amongst it all there was a deep humming. The more Cord moved in one direction the louder it got, Closer and closer, it grew in crescendo. Until she found herself in a small alcove in the wall that was partly hidden by a large draping velvet curtain. More yelling added to the orchestra of horror, but she still had time. As she thrust the heavy material away to her delight it revealed a few swords, some spears but most brilliantly, Lady Silence. She grasped the old and gnarled staff as if it were her very life string. The small engraved charms pulsed under her finger tips, giving her just enough warning to turn around to see one of the beasts break away and head in her direction. The thing was drooling, big clumps of disgusting saliva spraying as it bounded towards her. Before she had even began to process the fact that the creature was coming for her her legs were on the move. She dashed to the side to put some distance between it and her. How did someone who could hardly comprehend a simple thought attempt to outmanoeuvre and outsmart a blood thristy demon? Through reaction and just the most basic of methods that don't even require a thought, something that only a mentally unstable person could achieve. It became suddenly a whole lot simpler without panicking thoughts to crowd her mind.Golden locks flying behind her she careened towards another alcove that was the symmetrical pair to the one she had found lady Silence, in the architectural design of the room. It too was blanketed by the thick velvet and as she neared, the panting and snarling was closing in behind her. With no more than a few feet away from stone wall Cord took to the floor. Using the momentum and the sleekness of the floor she slid on her side and tucked away neatly under the curtain. The soles of her feet took the brunt of the force as she collided with the wall, but she didn't stop. In an instant she had tucked herself into the corner of the alcove but even then it had barely been in time.

It was that awful half sleep state. Where Niles was semi aware that he was awake but was still in the grasp of sleep. He tossed around, getting his already tangled self deeper into the mess of his sheets. But it was a sharp swat to the face that shocked him awake. Sitting bolt upright, in his semi-drowsy state, Niles nearly fell from his bed. The was a muted howl from his sheets and as he orientated himself, fished inside to find his cat Cleo buried within the material. The cheeky thing hadn't been pleased with his moving so decided to show her dissatisfaction with a paw to the face. It had definitely gotten his attention. But she had already forgotten the incident and had moved to where she was now curled, purring peacefully, at the base of his bed. With lethargic limbs he began rubbing his eyes to clear the blurry vision. He blinked another few times and wasn't able to suppress the yawn that overtook him. He couldn't believe he was so exhausted, it had only been a week back at school! To match his tired limbs, his mind was equally slow. It took him a bit to realise what the niggling thought in the back of his mind was telling him. The effect was a mini panic attack as he remembered what they had planned for tonight. He frantically fumbled for his wand that was rested somewhere on his side table. After finally locating the blasted thing he gripped it and quickly drew the sheets over his head so he could perform the spell that would emit light so he could read the time on his Rolex watch (a guilty present from his parents). The big hand had just ticked over to 11pm and he let out a relieved breath. He wasn't late just yet. Letting the light fade, he flipped the sheet off and stumbled out of bed. The hands of sleep still hanging onto him. But somehow he got up, and sliding in his fluffy socks made his way to his wardrobe. Pulling out whatever he grabbed first, which just so happened to be his Kizz shirt and just a pair of grey slacks, he quickly dressed and headed downstairs. He wasn't exactly quiet but he knew that no one would bother him or even bother waking as they were used to his mischievous cat waking him up at odd hours.

He was walking in a daze, barely noticing anything, it was a wonder that he didn't run into any trouble on the way. His mind wasn't focused on anything, just listening to the muted thumps of his feet that echoed through the hallways. It was pretty dark, but he didn't mind so much because it seemed to keep him in that dreary state of sleep and that was fine by him. Niles was no way a night owl, but there was no way he was going to miss a game of truth or dare with his good mates. There was a lot of catching up to do after the holidays despite it already being a week. It was such a good idea and he forgot who actually mentioned it, not that it mattered but he liked to think he could take some credit for it. That brought a small smile to his lips as he went shuffling along to the room of requirement, still not noticing that he hadn't removed his fluffy socks and all in all looked extremely dorky. His thoughts were on the fact that no doubt he would be the last there but it didn't bother him as long as no one had started without him.

He finally reached the Room. It was cloaked by a surprisingly modern looking tapestry. His smile that had stayed on his lips the entire journey from when it appeared to now, morphed into a smirk. He definitely knew who came here first, the one girl who seemed to really love all the muggle and modern stuff. Gingerly he pushed past the tapestry and slowly creaked the door open, not wanting to startle the ones inside. This was going to be awesome, and the last clingy remnants of drowsiness seemed to wash away as he entered the room.

"Look out everyone, the fun has arrived!" He chimed, his megawatt grin lighting up his face.

"Man," He muttered, "Why does England have to be so bloody cold? Why can't we have weather like the Caribbean or some place just warm?" Niles was rugged up with his school scarf, matching his house colours, and black gloves. It really wasn't that cold but Niles really wasn't a fan of autumn or winter so just for precaution he even had his cloak on. He was so glad the uniforms were designed for this kind of weather. He hated them in summer when he would rather enjoy the warmth without so much clothing, but boy, were they good for this weather. He rubbed his arms to try and get him to stop his shivering. He increased his pace in attempt to get more movement and get to the meeting spot faster. Swinging from his arm was the usual basket that carried their groups supply of food. Since they never ate in the Great Hall at lunch it had been arrange that someone each day, whoever got to the place where they kept the basket first, would bring the food.

His class had gone rather fast since there had been ample amount of entertainment provided. Charms was a favourite of his as you got to learn so many interesting spells. Plus with a young, new and very attractive female professor who actually appreciated his comments, the lesson was indeed enjoyable. Niles wasn't the jokester of the class, no he left that up to Gray, but he did like to make comments and made sure that the class wasn't dulled with the monotony of work. They were revising the charm 'impedimenta' in which Professor Brooks was firing tennis balls at them and they had to use the spell to slow the object down and get out of the way. The class was formed into a long line, all facing the teacher with their shoulders just touching. All the desks had been moved away and the mini test had started. Niles was about mid way in the line and he couldn't help but admire Professor Brooks' form. The way her curly brown hair fell down her shoulders and the enthusiasm she showed each time she fired another tennis ball. What Niles failed to notice was that she was progressively getting close. Soon she was preparing to fire right at him,

"Ready Niles!" She said in her chirper voice. He was just waking up from his daze and gave a confused, mmmm? sound and before he he even had the chance to raise his wand the ball was shot and landed squarely in his chest. It clean knocked him off his feet and with a great OOF, all the air went from his lungs. Dazed on the floor he stared up at the ceiling, feeling as if a bus had just hit him. Then came into his vision a blurry but very beautiful angel. He swore it was an angel and as he was beginning to hear things again, he was able to hear the angels words.

"Niles! Niles! Are you alright? Can you hear me?" How sweet her voice sounded.

"I never knew angels could hit so hard!" He managed to croak out. His comment received a few chuckles and some exasperated humphs, but he was mostly paying attention to the smirk and the slight colouration to Miss Brooks cheeks.

"Come on Niles get up, you'll be fine. But next time, be ready!"

"Why Professor , I didn't know you cared so much!" He said as he propped himself onto his elbows and extended an arm towards her to help him up. With a roll of the eyes she then grabbed his hand and helped him up. "Thanks Miss! He beamed at her at which she simply shook her head.

"Wipe that grin off your face Niles, and unfortunately for everyone else we've reached the end of the lesson. Now, for next lesson I want you all to have mastered that charm and have read pages 24 through to 60. Have a good day." And with that they were dismissed. Niles went to where his bag lay and gathered up his stuff, eager to go meet his friends. But just as he was about to go he was stopped by Professor Brooks.

"Now Niles, are you alright? You really must start paying attention, it's only the start of the year!"

"Oh Professor, you flatter me with your worry, but really I'll just have an impressive bruise to show the guys. Just don't tell them that it was you who hit me! And really Professor, how can I pay attention when you are so distracting?" He knew he was being exceptionally cheeky and a huge flirt but he really did like Professor Brooks, she was only five years his senior and he would have liked to consider her his friend despite the teacher student thing. Besides, it wouldn't ever turn into anything serious.

"Niles! Really. I do worry about you sometimes." She looked at him with a bemused expression.

"You love me Prof, and it's all just good fun. But you'll have to excuse me. I have an appointment with some good mates of mine which I really can't miss our on!"

So there he was, out of the warm class room, rugged up in all his winter gear with the basket of food and heading towards the Willow tree that all those years ago he had found a young Celine sobbing her eyes out. She had been the very first person that he had befriended on the train trip here, but when they were sorted into houses, their sapling friendship hit a drought. Celine had a troubled time and while Niles really just wanted to get closer to her and help her out she just kept pushing him away. All those things she said about him, insulting him endlessly in front of the other Slytherins was all for show and he knew it. That's why he never let it get to him, that's why when he found her under that tree there was no question about going over to help her. And that's when she finally let him in.

His cloak was getting just that slightest bit damp from the dew on the grass, but that didn't matter, he was almost there, almost at the tree where he could then cast a spell to warm him up. He knew that spells weren't really permitted to being cast on campus but at this point in time a small one that would result in the keeping of his fingers and toes, he was willing to take the risk. Finally, there was the tree, standing majestic as always and nearly unchanged from the years past. At the base of the tree, tucked away in a little cranny was a quilted picnic rug, reaching the tree Niles placed the basket down and extracted the carpet, it had a simple spell cast on it to repel any dampness and unwanted guests residing in it. Giving it a quick shake out none-the-less, he gently laid it down. With that set up, he plonked himself down and brought the basket closer. His back was faced away from the tree so while he was still setting up the food, he didn't see someone arrive. The person came and did a similar plonk against the tree. He looked up and smiled as he saw it was Celine.

"And a good afternoon to you too! Classes were rather entertaining I must say. If I wasn't all rugged up I would be glad to show you my impressive bruise, it's probably huge! You know I never let classes be anything but fun! But enough about me. What's been going on for you? By the sounds of it, classes have definitely been riveting."

Niles wouldn't ever of imagined that this day would have been anything more than just a usual day with the gang. At Cece's comment he gave her his most dubious look, making sure she knew he was deadly serious.

"Take off my layers? My dear Celine! I'm sorry to say this but you've gone raving mad, no way in hell would I expose any inch of skin in this weather." He said sternly, but as usual he ruined his seriousness by poking his tongue out at her. A distraction in the form of Monty arrived and using this time he quickly nicked her piece of bread, tore a chunk off and handed it back. He just shrugged off her glare. It was just that stolen food always tasted so much better! Of course, when Monty made his expected comment Niles did his best of a wounded male, clutching his chest as if in agony.

"Gah, pierced me right in the manhood! You cut me deep dude, real deep." The only thing betraying his intense acting was the smile that he couldn't hold back. While he was mucking up as usual, Tar and Erick had also arrived, sitting just that little bit away. It was pretty typical of them but Niles was going to make it is personal goal to get them to open up just that bit more and be part of them. It was awesome when Grayson arrived because as usual he had brought his guitar. He was a great musician and Niles loved it when he would play for them. As Gray was arriving, he called out for some food. Feeling obliged Niles grabbed a bread roll and chucked it at him. He was rather impressed how the guy managed to catch it with one hand, his left even! The pick of the day was Skinny Love. One of the very popular muggle songs. He had to admit it was a pretty good song and he soon found himself humming along. When the song finished he lay back onto his elbow and looked up to the sky. Unfortunately, it was rather cloudy but that didn't stop him from admiring the swirling grey clouds and the wonders of mother nature. All seemed peaceful, he was enjoying the time with his friends, yet he really should have realised that the looming clouds were a warning. Flying over head Tar's owl came soaring down. It held a letter and confused Niles rose to a sitting position, his eyes instantly looking over to Tar. Her face was clearly worried and so Niles took it that the coming of the owl was not a good sign.

As Tar fled, Monty close behind, Niles was dumbstruck. He had no way to react to what had just happened. Everything just fell away so quickly that he couldn't really comprehend that Tar was leaving for good. Her back, with blonde hair flying everywhere, disappearing into the distance would be the last he saw of her. Slowly, almost painfully he rose to his feet and came to stand beside Cece. Everything felt numb. He gently rested his hand on Cece's shoulder, not wanting to force her to do anything but wanting her to know he was here. It was a tough blow to them all to know that Tar was gone.

It seemed like a lifetime had passed before they sat back down on the rug. The mood heavy felt like a physical weight in the air, so much so that Niles didn't even notice Izzie arrive. He hadn't spoken a word even after Monty came back. The chuckle seemed odd in the atmostphere but it managed to break the Hufflepuff out of his thoughts. He blinked a few times and a sad smile appeared as he looked at Monty. Never would he have taken up Monty's offer, preferring not to get into trouble but considering what had just happened. He needed to get away and maybe this was the best way to do it.

"You know what? Sure."

Izzie... Was being Izzie of course. There was no denying she was a strange, brutal asshole at times and did not have an ounce of remorseful common sense. She also didn't seem to have that little filter that every other normal person had that told them what they should or shouldn't say. Yet, maybe it was her awful honesty and just done right straightforwardness and lack of bullshit that made Niles actually enjoy her company. In a way they were kind of similar. They both had confidence, Niles in more on an innocent and sweet way but similar none-the-less!

Yet, at this point in time it was a little hard to smile at Izzie's antics and her fumbling around words. Definitely not the most eloquent of people he had ever met, but she mostly got said what she wanted to. Well, at least, Niles figured, she had thought the worst and was pleasantly surprised to find that Tarvel was in fact not dead, but had simply left. It felt odd. Tarvel was gone. But there was no getting over that fact. He wasn't feeling mountains of crushing grief but it still didn't help that one of his good mates had left. If he wasn't the happy-go-lucky guy that he was, he would easily have moped around for a while. Yet, the Hufflepuff just couldn't do it. He had to let it go, releasing a breath he rose with Cece, Monty and Izzie to head out into the forest. The silver lining to this was he supposed, the fact that this was the first real time that Niles had actually skipped class! And to go drinking of all things, maybe he could show that tough assed Monty that he could be one of the 'bad boys'.

Doing a quick spell to get the rugged all tucked up in the tree and the basket returned to it's special place back inside Hogwarts, Niles quickly hopped after the guys. Gaining a bit of his spark in the process. Catching up to Celine had casually looped his arm over her shoulders and gave a squeeze. He knew she would take the departure pretty hard, not that they were the closest, Cece and Tarvel, but he knew the way his best friend worked and she would be feeling pretty down after this. But hopefully with a bit of carefree stupidness they could all lighten their hearts. While comforting Cece, Niles didn't really pay attention to where they were going or the fact that Izzie had fallen behind. So when they reached a clearing of sorts and before them stood an eyesore of a rock, Niles looked rather sceptically at Monty. This was his place to drink? Wasn't very impressive. Yet when the guy declared that they would all hate him for not showing them something, well he really had to raise an eyebrow to that. Niles had no problem with each of them having their own little escape, hell they all needed it once in a while. But no way did he expect it to this magnitude. It was no surprise however, that Monty had this thing password protected. Of course, Niles couldn't help but snorting a laugh at the password, no wonder the Slytherin didn't exactly want them to know when that was probably how he found this little secluded area in the first place!

And when the thing opened the Hufflepuff's mouth couldn't help but go slack jawed. It was damn impressive. Now he definitely hated the guy for not showing them earlier.

"Duuuude..." He let out, the tone of his voice clearly in awe. Now it was clear why the guy vanished as often as he did, who wouldn't rather be in the middle of the forest, with anything you needed? Although the first part did beg to differ. There was all kinds of unknown freaky stuff in this forest.

Niles was about to jump head first into the little treasure trove of booze, but there was a little rumble from behind them. He stopped and turned around, frown buried deep into his brow. He definitely did not like the sound of that and was about to suggest they all get inside and close that blood huge boulder so whatever it was didn't have students for lunch, when he realised that Izzie was no longer behind them. Oh crap. It wasn't far fetched to figure that she had done something stupid and woken some angry beast or something. In an instant his wand was out and poised for whatever came past those trees. The roaring got louder and while Niles wasn't exactly a master at animal sounds he was sure that it wasn't the sound of some unknown magical creature. Actually as it was heard again he could have sworn it was some sort of big cat. A lion? No, maybe... He really had no idea what sort of animals where in this damned forest. Hell, he shouldn't be surprised if a six legged elephant with wings came trumpeting through.

Then shit hit the fan. Careening towards them was a rather, gob-smacked? If that's even possible, looking tiger. A tiger! Okay, he could have pictured a lion, you know with the Hippogriffs and all that but how the hell does a tiger get in the bloody forbidden forest?! It's not like they could exactly travel from India to England. Catch the train and decide that the forbidden forest was a good place to call home. So of course the appropriate action to take would be to definitely panic. And that's exactly what Niles did. Any spells that he had lined up in his head instantly vanished as this orange and claw-y fuzzball came stumbling towards him. He stumbled backwards, successfully landing on his ass rather heavily as well as knocking his wrist on a protruding root that caused instant pain shooting up his left arm.

"HOLY FUCK!" Niles was no where near a guy known for swearing, but if there was ever a time to do so, now was definitely it! Yet, while his heart was jack rabbiting all through his chest with adrenaline and fright, he couldn't help but thinking how startled the motley looking tiger seemed. Truthfully, Niles thought it looked rather drunk and clumsy. Which was odd because weren't tigers meant to be graceful and lethal killers?

Either way, from his view of the tiger he saw that what he mistook as stripes where in fact blurred black shapes, some actually recognisable! In fact they had an uncanny resemblence to a particular bad-assed loud mouth that he knew. What the hell was going on!? Before anyone else could react he was yelling at them to stop, which must have sounded pretty bizarre as he was only moments ago preparing to blast whatever it was. The Izzie-tiger, managed to look thoroughly confused and was sitting on it's haunches a little ways away from where it had burst from the trees. It didn't seem like it was going to attack anyone but that didn't stop Niles from getting up cautiously, wincing at the pain in his wrist, and full on creeping towards it, arms extended and everything.

He truly had no idea what was going on but if Izzie had managed to turn herself into a tiger, well... Of course she had, it was Izzie. There was no getting around the fact that there clearly were tattoos of exactly the same as she had on the tigers pelt. So, standing a safe few meters away from the tiger, Niles bent down slightly and looked into the tigers face. Just as he suspected, the damn thing had the same mismatched eyes as Izzie.

"You damned idiot..." He muttered to himself, then straightened up and using his wand began to scratch his head. Looking back over his shoulder he gave Cece and Monty a rather fed up look. "It's Izzie. The stupid girl has turned herself into a tiger..." He let out a loud moan and with his free hand palmed his forehead and slowly pulled down. Effectively stretching his features into an odd grimace thing. Another groan.

"Izzzziieeee... What the hell have you done? Monty, my man, I definitely need a drink over here, pronto!"

It was pretty darn incredibly watching the transformation. While Monty had gone in to grab some drinks, which Niles had called for something light, he couldn't take his eyes off of how Izzie changed. Fur seemed to retract into skin, bones remoulded and growls changed to words. And before you know it, there was Izzie in her normal giant self, thankfully clothes and all. Despite her having a slightly more gratty voice she seemed the same. Niles had mixed feelings about Animagus'. Heck, it would be awesome to become an animal, but there was something about it that just made him a tad weary. He folded his eyes and gave her a slightly mocking smile. But it was quickly wiped off and replaced by wide eyes and a mouth slightly agape as Izzie turned her attention to him. He received a hard slug to the arm with enough force that made him stumble. Niles wasn't a small guy, reaching nearly 6ft, but he was nothing compared to Izzie. From the burst of pain in his arm he left out a howl of pain, muffled slightly by his hand that shot over his mouth. He gave her a fierce glare but she was on a high to really take notice of his threat. Besides, what would he do. Well actually, he had a few spells up his sleeve that could mess with her, but decided against it since she could still beat him to a bloody pulp.

Rubbing his arm, Niles mumbled to himself something along the lines of 'If-she-was-so-smart-why-didn't-she-turn-back?'. But he had to admit, becoming an animagus in the first place was pretty impressive, especially the fact that she had become a tiger. Another thought popped into his contemplating mind, how had Monty known what to do? It was curious but being the lax person he was Niles figured that if Monty had wanted to tell them he would have and so didn't see the need to make a fuss.

Since nothing terrible had actually happened, Niles went back to his jovial mood, maybe slightly more weary of Izzie since he didn't particularly feel like getting punched again. That girl had some power behind her, no wonder she was a tiger. He made his way into the cave and took a seat. At this point he was quite content to do anything but first he really wanted that drink.

"Monty, since you're acting barman and all and with my limited knowledge of alcohol care to whip me up something? Preferably sweet and light! Heck maybe some mint or something." He raised an invisible glass to the guy. Then turned to Izzie. "So... How'd you do it?"

Niles had made himself perfectly comfortable in the plush chairs and he was content to listen to Cece ramble on about the good ol' times and how they ended up all together. He was about to start pondering and relish in the whole reminiscing thing, but was rudely interrupted by a rather low comment by good ol' Monty. Did he really sound that gay? Nothing against gays of course, but it just wasn't him. Damn, maybe he was beginning to sound a bit too... Girly? Hell, he loved hanging out with Celine, she was his best friend afterall. He never did really click with the guys, maybe that was an indicator that he should try and toughen up. He didn't want to suffocate who he really was with all this machoness, but the thought of maybe it would do him some good kept coming to the forefront of his mind. He could still be the playful and carefree guy right? He hated doubts, they were the most ridculous of things a person could dwell on... Of course Niles has had plenty of doubts but like always and like he would now, he took them in his stride.

"Didn't kick them hard enough did ya, Monty? First my manhood and then... Well, my lower manhood! There just isn't any satisfying you." He took the drink while shaking his head disappointedly. He took a hearty sip of his drink before swallowing it the wrong way and nearly coughing his lungs up. He tried to suppress it but that only made it worse. "We-" He tried to start as he broke into another fit of coughing. "Well, that went well. Otherwise it's good. Cheers dickman!" He said rather hoarsely to Monty, referring to him only because that was all he could think up of in a response to the guy insulting him.

However, when a rapping was heard coming from the rock he lowered his glass and peered over to it. Seemed like Monty had a little pest around this place if he had some sort of little eye hole to look out. What he didn't expect was that Erick would arrive. How the hell had the guy found the place? But, really? It didn't matter and to him he couldn't give a rats arse, he was more glad on the fact that another one of his mates had arrive and maybe Monty could start picking on the quiet guy. Although, Erick was simply in a league of his own.

"Erick! Welcome, the party's just started." He raised his glass again and took another swig, this time prepared for the alcohol.
