Rather distant and almost harsh at times, Briar prefers not to allow herself to get too emotionally close to anybody else. Her work requires that she do jobs swiftly and well if she wants the money. Hardened by a such a life, Briar does not usually smile. Nonetheless, she has a twisted sense of humor, and is rather sarcastic. She does not take to those that are foolish and waste time and money, unless, of course, they are paying her. Almost greedy, Briar also possesses a very strong sense of self-preservation. She knows her limits, but does not know fear. She is stubborn and hates backing down. Not easy to frighten, Briar is the one mage that is usually on the front lines. She usually doesn't take less than perfection, which is why she likes to work alone.

Briar was raised in a village in the mountains, rather far away from the capital. There, girls were trained alongside boys - because this was a village that prized itself in sending world-class mercenaries into the world. They are taught magic from a young age, as well as the art of killing. They are taught not to trust anybody, even if that person is the one carrying the gold sack. They are taught that it does not matter which side you think you should be on - the side that pays better will always be the one you should go to.

Briar's reputation had spread through the region, and she has been called upon to assist in killing the Queen. The White Fist rebels promised her something - most of them do not know what - and because of that, she is in the city, on her way to join in killing the Queen.
