Power:Hyper-Cellular Manipulation

"The ability to morph, alter, and adapt every cell in your body. Practical Uses include growing bone weaponry, rapid healing, super strength, hyper speed (not super speed, unless I WANT to set myself on fire), and shapeshifting. YOu think that is too much? Just wait till you hear the drawbacks. 1: I can shapeshift only my own cells, which means if I turn into anything non-humanoid and/or not my shape and size, my clothes will either get left behind, or be destroyed. 2: If I use this ability too much, I feel dehbilitating pain. 3: My powers can be activated by his emotions, so if I am afraid, my skin might harden to protect myself or do something else I do not want. 4: If I use too many different cellular manipulations at the same time, the more pain I will be in and the more unstableI get. The more severe the cellular manipulation/mutation, the worse it gets and the less I can do at once. 5: NO wait, sorry, that is it. Still, it balances it out I think. Oh wait, there is a five. Fire is the greatest weapon to use against me, because it forces me to adapt to healing and being immune to fire, which leaves me less flexible to defend myself to other attacks. Oh, and there is one final drawback. While I can alter my body, I will always eventually revert to the form I was in when I first recived my powers. Which means, I am never getting rid of my inhaler. That annoys me. It also means I might never grow up, though this is unconfirmed".

Personality:

"What the...what am I supposed to say here I have not said already? I feel like this is going to be used to embaress me? It is, isn't it. Alright, whatever. My name is Jeremy Winters. I am in middle school. My hobbies, when I am not getting bullied, is to plot revenge, get dirt on people, oh, and apparently get mutated now. Listen, everything has gotten me really stressed out. You just cant tell because I cope with jokes, games, being friendly, and trying to have some fun.

The powers kinda freak me out. Especially when I accidentally shredded my own pyjamas on my sleep. I think I have nightmares. That said, I disagree with this conception that if you use your powers for fun or personal reasons, your a bad person. They are a part of you. So long as you are doing more good then bad, your a good person I think. And its not like I am killing anyone. That said, I cant help it if the bullies who bully me are about to get a little surprise. I am a confident person, if sometimes stubborn, thought if you ask me I am not stubborn. I also don't believe that a person's personality can be put into one or two paragraphs. We are complicated, sophisticated people, who will react to things in various and different ways depending on the factors that affect the current situation.

History:

"So, I was born as the middle sibling to an older sister, and a younger sister. I am the only boy in the house, because my father apparently stole everyone's money in some scheme, and before he got caught, committed suicide before he could tell anyone where it was. Want to guess why I am bullied so much in school? Yeah. That, and I am short. And apparently an easy target. Combine that with the fact I am always being forced to play with my little sister, who loves putting ribbons and dresses and pink on everything, and my older sister, who is always grumpy even though she has it better then me. She doesn't get bullied.

Alright, enough complaining for now. Lets see. The good news is that at least I did not lose all my friends. I have two best friends, Roscoe Crowley, and Tyler Brennan. Not the most popular either, but they have it better then me. Anyways, I also got to be really good at hacking. Why? Well, originally it was to adjust my schedules to avoid all the bullies, but I soon found that the school severs have a very strict and very monitored system that you cannot access from the outside, and all the computers inside have security cameras pointed at them. So, I kept trying, and trying, and trying. Because I am stubborn.

And then, I got my powers. And everything changed. Okay, not everything. Not even many things. But hey! I will take all the positive change I can get! Especially since my mom disappeared while all this other stuff has been going on".

Other:
"My mom mysteriously disappeared when this whole trouble began, so now my twenty four year old sister is having to take care of us and work a lot to take care of us all. So, my life has only been more hectic since.

Now, it's time for me to sign off, dear listeners. As of right now, there's still no zombie sightings, but be on your guard. These things tend to take their time. Stay safe and stay vigilant. I'll be here, waiting for you tomorrow. This is Show Pony, signing off.

As the outro theme started to play in his headphones, he took them off and stood up. He was going to meet with a bunch of others about this whole mysterious death thing. Not that he was sure where he fitted in to it, not with a power that could only harm. But it was better than just sitting at home, waiting for it to be time to start his radio show again. And if they had to fight anyone, then he guessed he'd be useful.

He grabbed his notes for the next day's show on his way out, shoving them into his backpack as he walked. Apparently some people were attempting to suppress their powers. Not him- he'd learned that suppressing his just made it worse. So he was embracing it and not really using it. Well... except to occasionally annoy people who were being dicks in public. But they deserved it. And it wasn't like he was rendering them unconscious or anything, he was just confusing them and giving them headaches.

Life had somewhat returned to normal as people started to get to grips with their powers. There was still the occasional wildfire or whatever, but they had a pretty good fire department. They were learning to deal with it. Of course, many without powers still thought that they needed to be locked away. People who voiced those opinions in public often got a blast of his powers as well.

He reached the Starbucks they were all meeting in and ordered an Americano, one sugar. His coffee in hand, he took the seat nearest the window and waited.

Jeremy Winters:

Today was worse then normal. Not his asthma, not his allergies. The bullying. He had gym class at the end of the day, followed by only one more day, and some of his classmates decided it would be funny to try and lock him outside of the locker room naked dripping wet. It was not easy being him, but at least he had a way back inside. Once he heard the others leave and enter the shower room again.

He created a bone blade that stuck out of his wrist, kind of similar to where Spiderman shot his webs from, and broke the lock to the locker room, re-entering and immediately heading towards his locker. There was an extra towel in there he used to dry off, and was about to get dressed when two of those bullies turned the corner. "I thought we told you to stay outside, weezy".

Weezy. Possible the worst asthma related nickname ever. Not worst meaning insulting, but as in it was extremely stupid. "Just leave me alone, assholes".

Immediately, one of them started punching his face in. However, after about five punches in, he flinched, and his skin turned rock hard, so when the bully punched him a sixth time, he broke his hand. This gave him enough time to put his clothes on before the Gym Teacher came in, looked at the two of them, and told them both to go to the nurses office...and for the nurse to call for some paramedics to pick up the bully with the broken hand.

It was rather uneventful, but the nurses office did get him out of his last class, which mean he could make it to Starbucks earlier then expected. Also, it let him avoid all the bullies. He passed the paramedics on his way out, trying not to get noticed. He would rather not have to deal with any fuss. That said, his face hurt like hell. But thanks to his flinching and breaking the bullies hand, even though it was his fault, it was only going to get worse now. That did not help him at all.

When he finally made it to the Starbucks, he ordered a Banana Mango Smoothie, and sat down at the table as he got out his laptop. He put the cold drink on his face. "Ooooh. Nice and cold. Cold good". His face was still in pain, after all. "Well, at least I arrived earlier then expected. So, who else are we waiting on?"

He opened his laptop, and brought up his Police Channel Monitoring Program he wrote that informed him of anything note worthy in the police channels.

Emovere walked briskly out of the hospital, brushing her wild dark hair back with one hand and blowing exasperated air out of the side of her mouth. Reaching her car, she unlocked it and opened the passenger door. Tossing in her clipboard, papers, and white jacket, Emmy walked around to the other side of the car and sat in the hot leather driver's seat, closing the door quite forcefully and sighing a heavy sigh. With all the new patients, all in critical condition, she'd gotten no rest. The only reason she was able to get away now was because of a large shipment of medicines that had to be unloaded- and a prior arrangement. Emovere started the car finally and blasted the AC, about to turn off the news station reporting on new death numbers, when she heard an ending message that caught her interest.

"Now, it's time for me to sign off, dear listeners. As of right now, there's still no zombie sightings, but be on your guard. These things tend to take their time. Stay safe and stay vigilant. I'll be here, waiting for you tomorrow. This is Show Pony, signing off." Emovere scoffed as she turned out of the hospital parking lot. Zombies? This Show Pony character was a little too cheerful and joking for this sort of predicament. Well, what did he know about people dying? He was some radio anchor. Setting cruise control on the long highway, Emmy rolled her eyes. Calm down, Emmy. He's just some radio host. Don't get so worked up. This Starbucks appointment was much needed, she reminded herself when a wave of guilt swept over her. People didn't need her and only her. There were other talented and skilled doctors. An hour-long coffee event wasn't going to take a hundred lives.

Emmy turned off the highway, driving into a part of town she didn't visit often- a more rural, secluded area in this busy city. Noticing the pretty landscaping, she laughed slightly. When was the last time she'd paid attention to pretty flowers and nice shrubbery? Everything had just been so stressful lately- for the last two weeks. Ever since that cursed meteor struck down. And not just anywhere! NO! It had to bee in the middle of HER TOWN. Slamming her palms down on the steering wheel in frustration, she glanced over to the tan car next to her. In it was an elderly gentleman with a concerned, yet frightened look on his face.

Grunting with pent-up stress, she calmed herself into an emotion of happiness and reached out to the man at the stoplight next to her. Linking to his mind, she took the emotion of concern and fear and replaced it, along with his thoughts from the previous minute, with the happiness she had created. His face went blank, and then was washed over with happiness and calm. Smiling, Emmy let out the concern and fear she'd taken. Pulling into the lot of the Starbucks, Emmy composed herself and brought forth some joy from the good news of more medicine. Turning off the car, Emmy grabbed her black bag and walked inside.

She stepped into the noisy, yet comfortable environment of the coffee shop. She normally had a home brew, and was looking forward to actual good coffee for once. Ordering a Caramel Flan Latte, Emmy looked for the group she was supposed to meet. None of the customers looked familiar, but as she searched out with her mind, she felt a group of minds that were slightly different that the others. When a small boy walked in, ordered a drink, and headed over to the pair she sensed, Emmy nodded. This was the right group for sure. Picking up the hot coffee, she walked over to the table and sat in the chair next to the man. Waving hesitantly to the three already seated, she glanced around and waited for another person to enter who felt different.

"So, who's in charge? Or, are we all just new to this whole 'having crazy powers and saving the world from imminent doom' kind of thing? Because that's kind of how it's coming across to me." Sipping the hot coffee, she raised an inquisitive eyebrow.

The whole mess kind of reminded her of the Avengers. Normal people (or gods, whatever) with crazy powers saving the world from destruction. Her mind shot to the tattoo of Loki's helm on her hip. She always did root for the villain- but being one? Emmy mentally scoffed at the idea. She'd stick to the side that was saving lives.

He nodded to acknowledge each of their greetings. When the kid sat down, Will stared at him for a few seconds, trying to suss him out. He couldn't have been more than what, twelve? If that. But the kid seemed to know exactly why he was there, and when he took out the laptop, Will grinned to himself. Looked like he was a smart kid.

The rest of the group came in a steady flow- introducing themselves to the present group as they arrived. Nobody really stood out to him- two of them, a man and a woman looked somewhat tired. The other girl had a face that he knew he could read if he wanted to. When nobody else had turned up for a while and nobody had still said anything, Will took it upon himself to speak. After all, it had kinda been his idea to put it out on the radio. Not that it had been his idea in the first place- word had been travelling around about people who wanted to do this, so he'd decided to just... Go for it.

"Okay, so, seeing as nobody else is taking charge, I will. We should probably introduce ourselves first- I know all of your names, but nobody knows mine. So, I'm Will Sykes, and I have the ability to screw with people's heads in that I can create a blast that can cause confusion, headaches, nausea, or unconsciousness. I have a theory that I could also potentially cause death but don't want to go that far." He shrugged a little.

Jeremy Winters:

"Hey, people run around with police radios all the time. Normal Civilians. I just happened to get an upgrade is all. Nothing illegal about upgrades" Jeremy defended himself. Which might have been the end of it, had the women of their group, Luce, not threatened his laptop, though it was jokingly, and then questioned his ability to defend himself. He could defend himself, easily. But that would require a public display of his powers, and/or making things ten times worse for him with the bullies at school.

"No, I didn't walk into anything" he said, as he took the cold drink off his face. Notably, what had looked worn and beat up before had completely healed. "My name is Jeremy Winters, and my power is...well, I think the technical term is Hyper-Cellular Manipulation. It means I can make my cells do anything, heal anything, and even alter their traits, such as hardening skin or becoming lighter. It also means..." he made a sharp bone blade come out of his wrist, and then retracted it back into himself. "...that. Of course, I cant do it for long periods of time, nor can I use more then a few of them at once, among other...annoyances, but they are useful. Too bad I can't stop myself from feeling the pain from a hit still".

He was also lucky his powers did not inflict pain on himself, most of the time anyways. He moved his laptop slightly further away from the woman who made things malfunction. "So, just....don't ask about the injury again, okay? Its gone now anyways" Saying he was avoiding something was an understatement.

"Lets just let everyone else take their turns now...."

As Angelo sat there, listening to all of the introductions and small conversation between the high school kid and the elementary student he just smirked a bit. The two of them definitely had a bit of personality to them, that was for sure. Though the one thought that kept coming to mind was why he was even told to be here. If it were up to him he wouldn't have, it's not like he had any powers to begin with so part of him felt a bit left out. But with a sigh he started to speak.

"I'm Angelo De Luca and I honestly don't have any clue why I'm here. I was told by one of my co-workers that I should come to this meeting...even though I don't have any powers or anything. I'm just a normal paramedic with a normal life," he explained before taking a sip from his coffee.

Angelo glanced around the table, once again observing each and every person in the small group. He hoped he hadn't intruded in anything he wasn't supposed to be aware of. But part of him had a feeling that his co-worker was right, maybe they would need a paramedic...and a doctor, he thought to himself as he glanced over at Emovere once again.

Emmy listened to everyone introducing themselves and their powers. Will, the 'leader', had some sort of mind power as well. When the big guy, Thorran, shied away from mind control, she smiled wryly. It seemed like he would be pretty easy to get to- not only was his power becoming a mouse, he seemed very uncomfortable with her abilities. Emmy blinked, pulling herself out of a haze. Was she seriously planning the demise of these strangers? Glancing up to the conversation again, she noticed that someone familiar was sitting next to her. Angelo! His name popped into her head, and she looked away, realizing she was probably staring. Sipping on her drink, she decided to introduce herself along with the others.

"I'm Emovere Drake, doctor. My special power is mind control, of a sort, but I'd much prefer you to call it Emotional Tampering. That's more correct, and it has a nice ring to it." Faking a smile, Emovere hoped she hadn't said anything too controlling or embarrassing or- she cut her mental rambling off to listen to Will, who was speaking up again. Anything strange? Nothing stranger than that Show Pony talking about zombies. Wait, didn't Will work on a radio station? She made a mental note to ask about it.

Her mind cut to a patient they'd had only yesterday, a young man whose mind seemed to be a bit off. He had had to be bound to the bed after he kept trying to hypnotize the doctors and other patients to do who-knows-what. Startled by the similarity to her power, Emmy mostly steered clear of the guy and hadn't heard much about him since. Shaking off a concerned expression and trying to regain her bearings, she figured she ought to mention it.

"Well, people die every day in the hospital, no matter what we use. There was also a guy with powers like us, hypnosis I think, but he was a little..." she bit her lip and twirled her finger around her temple. "By the way, Will, do you happen to know Show Pony? I heard you mention working at a radio station."

Emovere wondered how badly she could screw up in saving the world and sat back in her chair.
