Description

Image

Name: Dore Hastings, but he goes by ā€œDumā€ most of the time. He greatly prefers to be called by ā€œDumā€ especially by those he doesnā€™t trust - which at this point is everyone.

Age: 19 in appearance

Role: Tweedle Dum

Gender: Male

Personality: Dore is reserved in character, and is almost always lurking in the outskirts of whatever is going on. An ever present frown is barely visible, as he slouches. He prefers not to have any interaction with others - and will simply leave when he feels as though he will very quickly be pushed into speaking. However, if he is spoken to first, he believes that he has to reply - and will. He is normally serious, and therefore, hates being mocked or the object of a prank.

Most of his persona is centered on his want to find Edward again. Not the twisted person that ā€˜pretendsā€™ to be him, but the real one. Inwardly, he realizes that the twisted Tweedle Dee in Wonderland is actually his childhood friend, but he holds on to the false dream that his friend is simply languishing in some dungeon, while another steals his name. If anyone points out that this is impossible, he takes great offense and becomes quite angry. In one of these fits, Dore loses his calm and will attack everyone around him. These large spans when heā€™s angry last for a few hours at most, but when he has sufficiently recovered, he will mentally beat himself up. Dore will actually be the first one to speak up when he feels in order to apologize. Usually afterwards, he pledges that itā€™ll never happen again - but as soon as someone mentions the real truth, these events happen all over again.

He also hates being the first person to do anything. As Dore prefers to go second, he is usually following anotherā€™s footsteps to the best of his capability. If he is able to do so, there is little hesitation in his movements, and heā€™ll step nonchalantly along. However, if there is no one that he can see and follow, he refuses to continue and stays there, frozen. In times of great need, heā€™ll force himself to continue onwards, although he jumps at every rustle of the leaves. He, however, is not a coward. Dore is a risk taker in nature, and as long as he has someone to follow, he will and can do anything that needs to be done. To kill, to question, to hurt - heā€™ll do anything it takes to find ā€˜Edwardā€™ again.

At times, Dore can be a pushover. Since he wonā€™t share his own opinion unless someone else has already stated the same thing, much of his personal opinions remain for himself. When forced to, he will do so haltingly, and seem so annoyed when doing it that it often seems better to simply not ask. However, even though he is so unwilling, his speech is usually eloquent and formal in nature. Not to mention, when receiving an order, he will attempt to follow them, but is usually incapable of doing so. He prefers to work with someone else - with someone that knows to stay first and that he trusts, but as the only person that fulfills these requirements was Edward, there is little that can be done.

Fear: Dore is afraid of trusting others or befriending them in any way due to his fear that they, too, will end up losing to their mental demons. This is mostly due to his belief that it was associating with him that caused Tweedle Dee to become the twisted version of himself. He is afraid of getting upset as well, as he thinks that if he does, he will twist his own character into something that is no longer himself. Although this may not count as a fear, if he has to go first, heā€™ll be very hesitant and unwilling to do anything.

Biography: A long time ago, Dore and Edward were the best of friends. When asked, heā€™ll talk about their childhood playing together, but he refuses to speak about what happened that day when Edward went insane. He is one of the few Wonderland characters that has been able to continue being sane, but he believes that one day, he will end up losing his sanity as well. Dore has spent the past wandering throughout the area, trying to find where Edward was hidden. However, when he is able to, he spends much of his time lurking on the borders of the Rabbit Hole Area, and has seen many of the new Alices fall to the charm of Dee - and end up dying due to their folly. Sometimes it occurs to him that he should try to help them, but one look at Deeā€™s insane eyes stops him every time. It was when wandering throughout Wonderland that he lost his fingers, although the cause of this is shrouded in mystery.

Appearance: Dore is slightly shorter than average - but not by much. He possesses an aloof aura that surrounds him, and usually is seen with both hands in his pockets. His dark brown eyes, usually expressionless, are always in the shadow of the brim of his hat, and are framed by short, tousled green hair. One of his more striking characteristics, is the loss of two fingers on either hand, but he refuses to talk about it. He is rarely seen with a smile, but when he does, it brightens his entire countenance. Clothing-wise, he is never seen without his hat - no matter what. This hat is made out of straw, and has a thick green band around it. He wears a button-down white shirt with a green vest, and most of the time, dark colored pants. The inside of his clothing is lined with plates of metal that usually serve as his armor. Dore is rarely seen with any weapons, but he can improvise and make whatever he needs out of his surroundings.

Crush: None for now.

Anything else: Tweedle Dum would like to not have to deal with Tweedle Dee and would rather stay out of Tweedle Deeā€™s way. After all, all that Dee is, is some twisted person who stole his friendā€™s identity - and then, kept him hidden in some corner of Wonderland. But still, some impulse of his always brings him to the Rabbit Hole. There, he retreats further back inside his cage, and can barely bring himself to look at Dee. However, when he does, he feels as though there is something that he needs to do to bring him out of his madness, but still, he can never bring him to do this, twisted by a cold revenge that he feels for Dee. That mockery of a person is not Edward to him and therefore he always refers to him as Dee.

So begins...
