The young man squinted, his sharp blue eyes peering through the mist and the branches. Taking a step forward, he noticed--"It's a giant keyboard."

Evelynne ignored the mud that coated her fair skin and matted her usually shining crimson locks and made her way out from under the tree. She had a better view of the giant keyboard now and she felt the immediate happiness that always filled her heart at the thought of music. She’d been playing the piano since before she could remember. The happiness faded as quickly as it appeared and was replaced with hesitation at the trap and aching sadness about Charlie.

"Bloody hell." Ryu sighed, crossing his arm. "Talk about your unusual defenses." While Ryu prided himself of being a master thief and being able to break into nearly anywhere, he had never seen this particular defense before. A giant piano keyboard. "Well, if I had to hazard a guess, I'd...suppose we might need to play a certain tune on it to get past. But, the problem is...what do we need to play??"

Eve moved so she stood directly next to Ryu and looked at the keyboard a little closer, trying to figure out if there were any hints, “I’d say that’s a good bet. Maybe there’s a hint as to what song we need to play?” She suggested, looking around them when suddenly a blue light appeared in one of the trees next to them. It was a beautiful pixie, which caught Eve completely off guard. It was odd to see one present itself so openly to humans. They were usually tricksters so Eve watched it cautiously and was even more surprised when the pixie… spoke???

"My fair lady," the pixie surprisingly enough shouted out in a sing-song voice, "to press the wrong key would result in a lot of falling down!"

Eve furrowed her brows at the pixie, knowing full well that pixies could only speak to each other, and knew that what was said must have been more than just a warning. Whoever had designed this… trap… was playing with them and was giving them a clue.

The Australian wizard snorted lightly, crossing his arms. "...Well, bloody hell. I suppose I was right to a certain extent." He bit his lip, gazing over at the keyboard again. "Great. And I'm no classical musician..."

Eve nodded at Ryu, too lost in thought to respond. She doubted the song would be part of a sonata, or anything too difficult for that matter. It would be a short little phrase, she could only assume, or perhaps a well-known song.

“My fair lady, to press the wrong key would result in a lot of falling down…” Eve muttered, mulling over the words the pixie had spoken. The pixie had seemed to stress the first few words, ‘my fair lady’, but that didn’t mean much on its own. Lots of songs had those words in them. Had the pixie stressed anything else? Evelynne tried to recall the way that the pixie had spoken the words and thought that maybe “falling down” had been stressed as well.

“My fair lady… falling down.” Eve muttered again, and then tried to think out loud, “falling down… falling down…” She repeated and suddenly it clicked, “London Bridge! It’s London Bridge!” Evelynne smiled and then sung softly, in her smooth soothing alto voice, “London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down, my fair lady.”

She gave Ryu one quick glance of pure confidence and then took his hand in her own and pulled him out of the bushes and towards the giant keyboard. They now stood right at the edge of the giant keyboard, the castle looming infront of them. She hesitated for a moment, wondering if it mattered what key she played it in, and then brushed the hesitation away. They didn’t have time to figure that out as well (as far as she could tell there was no clue either), so she would play it in the most common key it was sung in.

She pulled out her wand and pointed it towards the keyboard and sung as she used her wand to magically lower each of the keys, “London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down, my fair lady…” She finished, the last note ringing softly in an almost innocent way.

---

"I'm f-f-fine, Harry. Just...something doesn't feeeel right." She seemed to be squirming lightly in her own clothes, the sensitivity of her touch amplified to such a degree that everything registered in a way that it shouldn't. "EVERYTHING doesn't feel right. I think something in that potion...warped my sense of touch or something..."

Harry watched Hermione for a moment, and resisted putting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He was glad it was only her sense of touch that was warped for the time being and not something more serious.

Kreazil picked up an empty vial. "One potion left. One more question. You up for that Mr. Potter? If not I will be taking my leave now."

He looked around a bit. "Many lives depend on me being where I am supposed to be when the full moon rises. And you know I won't hesitate to let them die, if you hinder me."

He pointed to the last potion. "Your choice."

Harry eyed the final potion and then shook his head, “Go, Kreazil. Just go.” He said shortly, not feeling any shame at not drinking the last potion. If he had been younger he would have grabbed the final potion and downed it immediately, but this situation didn’t call for blind heroics. He was more useful to the group alive and well.

Harry turned towards Charlie’s office and used his wand to create a deep grave and then levitated Charlie’s body into the deep hole in the wet earth. He cringed slightly as the body rested softly at the bottom of the hole, feeling his stomach turn uneasily at the sight of his best friend’s brother.

Natasha walked down the wooden board walk along the beach for a little while, considering who she would approach to ask about Drake’s family when suddenly a very tanned native, wearing nothing but a grass skirt, lea, and sandals, approached her.

"Nocsemo!" She greeted, a melodic tone in her voice as she suddenly tossed a lea around her neck, and just as immediately grasping her arms to plant her lips against the muggle's face in a greeting. "Welcome to the Dragon Islands. You are a tourist, yes? Welcome! It is always nice to see a new face to our shores. Please, have a wonderful time!"

Natasha mentally composed herself and smiled brightly back at the woman, “Thank you!” She said, her voice light as air, and hugged the girl back while making sure to angle her hips in a way that her hidden guns wouldn’t brush against the other woman.

The lady immediately let her go, gave her a smile, and promptly headed off to go assail another hapless tourist.

She watched the woman go, careful to keep the soft smile on her lips and carefree attitude present in the way she moved. She really wasn’t in the mood to play tourist, but she would keep it up a little longer. A while passed as she continued walking, when suddenly someone spoke behind her in a deep voice.

“Excuse me, miss?”

Natasha turned and found a very tall, broad chested, golden tanned mass of muscle standing before her. Out of the corner of her eye she could see passing women (natives and tourists alike), gazing lustfully towards him and figured he must be what passed as attractive now-in-days.

“Yes?” She replied taking a confident step towards him, gazing up at him through her thickly fanned lashes.

He smiled down at her, confidence exuding from every pore of his body, “I’m Adalrico, and who might you be?” His honey gold eyes took in her curves and smiling pink lips. There was something about her, aside from her obvious sexuality, which had drawn him to her.

“Pleasure to meet you, Adalrico. I’m Natasha.” She replied, following appropriate flirting protocol as she gave his body a once over with her own eyes before throwing an appreciate grin at him.

“Lovely name for an even more lovely woman.” He replied suavely.

If you only knew. She thought, biting back her comment. “Perhaps you could help me. I’m looking for a friend of mine who lives around here. His name is Drake. Do you know him?” Natasha asked, noticing the slight disappointment that flashed across Adalrico’s face when she mentioned a guy’s name, and smiled sweetly while awaiting an answer.

“Well, why would you want to go and find some other guy when I’m right here?” He countered. He knew Drake and he didn’t think there would be any reason why a gorgeous woman like Natasha would be looking for someone like him.

“Because he’s my friend and I haven’t seen him in ages.” Natasha insisted, refusing to play along with Adalrico’s jealousy.

“Well he’s not around. He has been gone for a while now.” Adalrico explained, shifting from one foot to the other. He was barefooted and wearing only a pair of white trunks.

Natasha waited for a moment, wondering if he would mention where his house was but he didn’t. “Oh…” She frowned sadly, shoulders sinking with disappointment, and then looked to the side, “I was looking forward to seeing him while I was here. Maybe I could leave a message with his family?” She ventured, looking back to Adalrico.

“Well, I don’t know where they’re at right now and the house is a good distance from here, but you could talk to his brother I guess.” He said, disappointed that she wasn’t more interested in getting a drink with him than passing on a message to Drake.

There we go, big boy. She thought and placed a soft hand on his ripped arms, “Yes, thank you! That would be great!” Natasha brushed some auburn curls out of her eyes and watched Adalrico gesture to the beach.

“Dimitri is right over there. The little guy sitting by himself.” He said, and put a hand just above her waist as she turned to go, “Meet me for a drink tonight? Just down the walk here there is a great place. Eight o’clock?” He suggested, eyeing her expectantly.

Natasha slid smoothly from her grasp, conscious of how close his hand had been to her guns, and nodded once before bending low to undo the straps of her black heels so that she could walk in the sand, “I’d like that. See you then.” She replied, making her way towards Dimitri but not before casting one last smile over her shoulder at Adalrico.

What a complete idiot. She thought, looking forward once again, and continued towards Dimitri. She had about five minutes before the hour would be up and the glass ball would take her back to the castle. She just needed to get Dimitri and get out of this swelteringly hot place.

OOC: Sorry gang! Hope that was okay-ish.

((Well, Kenzi, I will ignore the fact that you are late if you ignore the fact that I am the latest.))
He walked inside, shaking the water out of his shoes. "They're here," he informed Lucius as he passed, going to get changed. "Just thought you ought to know."

"Ah, good," Lucius said, rubbing his hands together in anticipation. "You may go change now, Mister Carver, I believe you have done your share for now. Just be sure to come back here if and when the wizards get through your defenses."

Not even caring to look to see whether James had left or not, Lucius immediately made his way down to the entrance hall. From there, he strode confidently over to one of the walls and tapped one of the bricks with his wand. Not unlike the manual entrance to Diagon Alley, the stone seemed to take a mind of its own to create an average sized doorway. "Hello in there!" he called out softly, his voice kind and indifferent at the same time.

Almost at once, a pair of glowing red eyes lit up in the small room. A lumos spell from Lucius' wand soon shed some light on the contents of the space. Two monsters were pacing endlessly inside the room. It seemed to be some sort of oversized lion, with the gigantic horns of a ram and a venomously green adder for a tail. It was a Greek chimera, 'imported', as Lucius would say, for his specific needs.

Despite having been assured that the beast would not harm him, Lucius couldn't help shivering in fear. "We have visitors," the wizard said, even though the monster probably couldn't understand what he said. "If they get past whatever Jim has set up for them, feel free to do whatever you like." Without another word, Lucius magically created a door leading from the cage into the surrounding forest. The beast bound into action, sprinting away into the night, eager for its prey.

((Is it just me, or are other people imagining this castle like Hogwarts from the Harry Potter video games?))

“Go, Kreazil. Just go."

Kreazil smiled to himself. It seemed that at least someone was learning their lesson. As Harry started burying Charlie, he turned to Hermione.

"The last potion is an anti-werewolf potion. Keep it, might be useful." He then turned and walked into the night. An hour later, he walked into his base in Germany.

---------

"Mr. Smith!?" He called out. "Where are you! I'm here to help!!"

Inside the building, past the crushed door, something moved. Smith slowly crawled into the lighted part of the hallway, bloodshot eyes staring out at Ron.

"H-help?" he croaked, before he collapsed on the floor.

*(As much as I love Luigi, I think an avatar swap is in order. I think I rather like this one--a bit more in line with my chosen screenname here. :3)*

“Go, Kreazil. Just go.” [Harry] said shortly, not feeling any shame at not drinking the last potion. If he had been younger he would have grabbed the final potion and downed it immediately, but this situation didn’t call for blind heroics. He was more useful to the group alive and well.

Kreazil smiled to himself. As Harry started burying Charlie, he turned to Hermione.

"The last potion is an anti-werewolf potion. Keep it, might be useful." He then turned and walked into the night.

"...Anti...Werewolf...Potion?" Hermione gasped lightly, barely able to believe her ears. While a part of her was not sure how truthful Kreazil was being, the fact that the liquid they had could possibly be used to help their teammate Sander... "Harry, did you hear that? We could use that to--"

She paused, suddenly remembering Sander was not with them at the present moment.

"...oh, wait...." She mused, sounding deflated...

---

Inside the building, past the crushed door, something moved. Smith slowly crawled into the lighted part of the hallway, bloodshot eyes staring out at Ron.

"H-help?" he croaked, before he collapsed on the floor.

"Mr. Smith!" Ron grunted, quickly rushing to his side. "Hang on, I'm an Auror--my name is Ron, I've got you!" Pulling out the potion vials he had given, he uncorked them both and gingerly poured the contents into the man's mouth to allow him to drink them quickly. When they were empty, Ron discarded the vials, pulling the man to his feet to half assist him-half drag him out the door. He wasn't sure how safe the house was, and didn't want to be inside in case for whatever reason it decided to come crashing down on them.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need a Healer?" Ron asked, in a bit of a rapid-fire method. He glanced over at the wrecked Jeep, wondering how he was going to get himself and the man anywhere without reliable transportation...

London bridge is falling down, my fair lady.”

"You've got to bloody well be kidding me." Ryu deadpanned, never once blinking. He closed his eyes afterwards, placing his hand over his eyes. On reflecting, it was...actually quite obvious, not that he thought about it...but it simply couldn't be that...simple, could it?

She gave Ryu one quick glance of pure confidence and then took his hand in her own and pulled him out of the bushes and towards the giant keyboard. They now stood right at the edge of the giant keyboard, the castle looming infront of them. The Aussie readied himself, standing near Eve with a look of apprehension and some hesitation on his face. He cast a quick, concerned glimpse to her out of the corner of his eye, then continued to stand there in case anything...unfortunate should happen.

---

"Seriously?" Al replied, raising an eyebrow at Drake. "Your cousin is a veritable ninja, and you're worried about whether they caught him? Don't worry, they can't get to any of your family. Other than Ryu, all of your relatives are on the other side of the world. They're completely safe!"

"I certainly hope you're right, Al." Drake mused, a deep seated cold chill running down his spine. Images of his mother and father flashed through his head, as did his aunt...but one face in particular stood out. "I most certainly hope you're right..."

---

Meanwhile, back on the warm coasts of Dragon's Nest Island, Dimitri continued to play a bit in the sand near the water--when the foamy crest and recession of the tides gave him a small idea. Remembering watching his big brother show him how to do it a couple of months ago, the young boy stood up from his place on the wet sand and extended his arms out. Closing his eyes lightly, he reached into himself, calling forth his inner power and channeling his mana through his body to exert his will upon the water. As a wave came in to break against the sandy shore and shrank back--the small boy fished out with his mind to "catch" a small sphere of water and bring it close to him. Opening his eyes, he smiled as the salty orb of water floated for a moment in front of him...

However, the reflection of a tall, beautiful young woman with a black swimsuit and a sarong was coming right towards him. Blinking at the image, the small child broke his concentration and spun around to spot her, the water orb splashing all around his feet.

"...Yes? Can I help you, miss?" He cautiously spoke, in a wary tone. His parents and brother had always told him to be cautious of strangers. Even though people were excessively warm and welcoming in the Islands, Dimitri always felt a little odd around outsiders, and was generally hesitant around other people unless it was someone his family trusted....

((IT'S FLASHBACK TIME! Nice avatar, though, Drake! ))

Despite the shady rumour this particular hospital, it was surprisingly well kept. Sander was amazed every time he awoke in one of the many beds, to be met with such a clear light - the smell of anti-bacteria and general cleanliness all over the place. But still with the slight feeling of "sick" that every hospital came with, no matter how small or big. His face hurt, that was his first thought. This particular change had been rough, no doubt. Old scars had been ripped up, joined by new ones, and there was the possibility that his arm was broken. Any attempt at getting up was futile, so he had to keep down. Oh, his brain noted after a little while. You do know that you can't open one of your eyes.. Right?

It seemed like hours before the doctor finally returned to him, giving him one of those smiles that indicated that he would much rather be at home than here, delivering this message.

"You're gonna be fine, nothing's permanently damaged," the doctor said. It had to be something else, then.

"What about..?" Sander began, absolutely horrified by the nervous bite of the lip the other one gave. No. No, no, no, not again..

"He didn't make it. I'm sorry, Mr. Mathiasen. If it makes you feel any better, it was his own fault."

...

Sander stirred, starting to awaken already. Which was quite lucky, considering that a lengthy state of unconsciousness after being knocked out is a good sign of severe head trauma. He opened his eyes slightly, peering at the other two.

"Ow," he said. "I feel like a giant hit me over the head with a large club," he mumbled, getting to a seated position and rubbing his eyes. The other two seemed to be unharmed, but he couldn't help but to wonder what happened after he looked at the.. whatever.. that James had thrown at him. Had he turned? No, his clothing was still intact.

"I haven't hurt anyone or anything, have I?" he asked carefully, just to make sure.

-- -- -- -- -- --

The first part of the trap was complete. James gave a happy squeal while he awaited the next step, having dressed in a new suit quite fast. He stayed in the upper floors, watching from one of the windows. He really hoped they wouldn't fall for any of his games, to tell the truth. Things would be so much more fun if they got all the way here. Not to mention that Lucius hadn't exactly told him what they were going to do when time came for the werewolf downstairs to change. Oh, well. He supposed that only time would show. For now, he just had to wait for the aurors to pass his traps, and whatever his associate threw at them. They were aurors after all, surely they should be able to get past this without a second thought?

Down by where Ryu and Evelynne was standing, the ground shivered as soon as the last note died out. The keys then suddenly ripped themselves out of the ground, wrapping themselves up and disappearing. In their place stood a reasonably sized musicbox. The handle turned slowly by itself, re-creating the tune that Evelynne had just played on the giant piano.

"“London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down -”

Just before the last three words, however, the music stopped. The handle didn't turn. All that could be heard was a small ticking sound.

"I certainly hope you're right, Al." Drake mused, a deep seated cold chill running down his spine. Images of his mother and father flashed through his head, as did his aunt...but one face in particular stood out. "I most certainly hope you're right..."

Unable to come up with any more encouraging words, Al just put a hand on Drake's shoulder. "Come on," he said, turning back to Sander's unconscious body. "Lets see if we can get the third musketeer up and running again." It seemed that he had spoken too soon, because just after he had finished, the werewolf began to stir.

"Ow," he said. "I feel like a giant hit me over the head with a large club," he mumbled, getting to a seated position and rubbing his eyes. Al chuckled. Drake's tail could most certainly pack that sort of punch.

"I haven't hurt anyone or anything, have I?" [Sander] asked carefully, just to make sure.

"No," Al said, extending his arm down to help his friend up. "You were just freaking out because of that potion thing. Drake had to knock you out so you wouldn't end up hurting yourself. Is your head okay? I can try to heal it if you want me to."

"Sorry about that," Drake mumbled, glancing off as he placed a hand on the back of his neck. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard." He hoped he hadn't caused any serious damage--but then again, he seemed fine...still, it was always best to make sure. Blunt trauma wasn't something to be brushed off lightly.

Ryu had jumped back, pulling Eve slightly back with him and throwing an arm in front of her in a protective gesture when the ground suddenly shivered and the keys ripped themselves out of the ground. As the music began playing all over again, the Aussie arched an eyebrow. ...So, it WAS the right tune after all. However, something was off. The last three words--the last four notes--weren't completed. The handle stopped turning...and there was a small ticking--

"Ticking...?" Ryu whispered, before his eyes bulged out. His left grip on his knife loosened, slipping it back into its sheath as he whipped out his transfigured wand. ~Bloody hell!!~

"IT'S A BOMB!! HIT THE DIRT!!" He cried out, immediately assuming the worst (despite it being an unlikely scenario), and throwing himself into Evie to toss them both to the soft ground again, snapping his wand arm out. "PROTEGO TOTALUM!" The protective bubble just as quickly shimmered over them, ready to shield them from any heat or shrapnel...

"It's fine Drake, really. The last thing the two of you needed was for me t-t-to.. Well." He cleared his throat, not wanting to consider how things could have gone if he hadn't been taken out in time. "Besides, I've had w-worse headaches than this. Don't worry about it."

-- -- -- -- -- --

The musicbox continued its ticking, sounding as innocent as an inanimate object could. In fact, if one listened closely, the ticking sounded more like that of an old clock - as if something was constantly turning on the inside, scratching a surface on its way around.

Silence.

By the time Harry had finished burying Charlie, Kreazil had left. He noticed that Hermione held the final vial of potion and frowned at it as he walked towards her. He felt very tired and very alone all of a sudden, as though reality had struck him up side the head.

"Did he say what that was?" He paused and then chuckled coldly at his words, "Not that I would believe a word he says anyways." Harry added, using a quick spell to make the fire larger. He sat down as close to it as possible and allowed his toes to rest only inches from the flames. He trusted Ron to make it out okay with Mr.Smith, and so all he could do was wait.

----------------------------------

"...Yes? Can I help you, miss?" He cautiously spoke, in a wary tone. His parents and brother had always told him to be cautious of strangers.

Natasha gave the boy a sweet smile that lit up her features, "Hello." She said again trying to think of how adults spoke to children. She wasn't very good with kids. No, that wasn't true... she hated kids. There, that's better.

"I'm a friend of your brother Drake." She said, still smiling warmly. She knelt down in the sand next to Dimitri, so she was at eye level with him, and then frowned slightly, "I'm on vacation with some friends and I thought I'd come and say hi to Drake but I was just informed that he's not around. He promised to take me on a great tour of the island whenever I got a chance to come. I have to admit I'm sort of disappointed. Could you suggest any places I should see before I go...?" She trailed off, and shook her head in embarrassment, "I'm sorry, dear, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Natasha. It's a pleasure to meet you." She said, extending a long slender arm to shake Dimitri's hand.

She could feel the seconds ticking by and knew it would be any moment that the glass ball would take her back to the castle. If she could just get Dimitri's hand in her own... then she could get the brat and get out of there.

----------------------------------

Down by where Ryu and Evelynne was standing, the ground shivered as soon as the last note died out. The keys then suddenly ripped themselves out of the ground, wrapping themselves up and disappearing. In their place stood a reasonably sized musicbox. The handle turned slowly by itself, re-creating the tune that Evelynne had just played on the giant piano.

"“London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down -”

Just before the last three words, however, the music stopped. The handle didn't turn. All that could be heard was a small ticking sound.

Evelynne took a shocked step back as the keys were torn from the ground, but then tried to move forward as a music box appeared. She couldn't move forward, however, and looked down to see that Ryu had thrown his arm out infront of her in a protective gesture. "Ryu, I think we should check it out. I-" She began, as the music continued to play, but stopped talking when the song cut out. A ticking noise was all that was left...

Evelynne fell beneath Ryu, hitting the earth hard. The back of her head hit the grass so hard that she could see stars bursting all around her, "Ow, fuck!" She cursed, pinned beneath Ryu. Her voice sounded hollow inside the bubble that Ryu had created around them. There was no blast... no explosion... just the sound of ticking and an indistinct scratching noise.

"Maybe we have to open it?" Eve ventured, not bothering to move from under Ryu. She was freezing from the rain and very weak from the entire evening. Laying in the mud seemed like a perfectly acceptable place to be at that moment.

OOC: I guess Jim doesn't know that they aren't aurors right? To be honest, Eve and Ryu probably have no effing clue what to do next. haha.

Natasha gave the boy a sweet smile that lit up her features, "Hello. I'm a friend of your brother Drake." She said, still smiling warmly.

"Oh!" Dimitri spoke, slowly reaching up to take her hand, not knowing what was about to happen. "Well, uh, I suppose I could suggest the dragon reserve, or maybe the Temple of the Elders..."

---

"Did he say what that was?" He paused and then chuckled coldly at his words, "Not that I would believe a word he says anyways." Harry added, using a quick spell to make the fire larger. He sat down as close to it as possible and allowed his toes to rest only inches from the flames. He trusted Ron to make it out okay with Mr.Smith, and so all he could do was wait.

"He said it was an Anti-Werewolf Potion." Hermione said, moving to take a seat next to him. "He didn't say what it would do, but to keep it--it might be useful." She blinked, staring at it and glancing over at him. "What do you make of that?"

---

Evelynne fell beneath Ryu, hitting the earth hard. The back of her head hit the grass so hard that she could see stars bursting all around her, "Ow, fuck!" She cursed, pinned beneath Ryu. Her voice sounded hollow inside the bubble that Ryu had created around them. There was no blast... no explosion... just the sound of ticking and an indistinct scratching noise.

The musicbox continued its ticking, sounding as innocent as an inanimate object could. In fact, if one listened closely, the ticking sounded more like that of an old clock - as if something was constantly turning on the inside, scratching a surface on its way around.

Silence.
scratch
Silence.
scratch

"Maybe we have to open it?" Eve ventured, not bothering to move from under Ryu. She was freezing from the rain and very weak from the entire evening. Laying in the mud seemed like a perfectly acceptable place to be at that moment.

Ryu blinked, before dispelling the magical shield once it became apparent that the thing wouldn't violently blown itself--and them--to smithereens.

"I suppose so." He sighed, embarrassment flooding his cheeks with a beet red flush. "I certainly feel like a damn fool." Getting up and helping Evie to her feet, he shook himself off and tried to wipe off the mud again, glancing over at her.

"...Are you alright? I didn't hurt you too badly, did I?" He asked, feeling even worse now about his hasty actions, not making a move towards the music box at first, not wanting to appear as a senseless jerk.

Al nodded silently as Sander refused treatment. "Just tell me if you change your mind."

"Sorry about that," Drake mumbled, glancing off as he placed a hand on the back of his neck. "I didn't mean to hit you that hard."

"It's fine Drake, really. The last thing the two of you needed was for me t-t-to.. Well." He cleared his throat, not wanting to consider how things could have gone if he hadn't been taken out in time. "Besides, I've had w-worse headaches than this. Don't worry about it."

In other circumstances, Al might have laughed at Sander's excessive meekness, but he could find no reason for mirth. I'm just hoping we get out of this alive, Al thought. The elf was suddenly pulled out of his thoughts by a sound, barely discernible from the silence. It almost sounded like... a music box! What the hell? Al thought, shaking his head. Maybe the stale air was finally beginning to affect his mind.

"Sander, Drake, did you guys hear anything?" he asked, his brow furrowed with confusion.

Thirty... twenty-nine... twenty eight...

Lucius was watching his pocket watch intently, flinching as each second went by. There was less than a minute left until Natasha would return. He could only hope that she would have the boy. If she didn't, well, Lucius preferred not to think of that.

The aging man watched as the timer passed under fifteen. Miss Romanoff didn't have much time.

"Likely a trick." Harry replied, taking a quick glance at the potion in Hermione's hands. He doubted very much that Kreazil would hand something like that over to them. Unfortunately, he wasn't adept enough at potions to really figure out if it was really what Kreazil claimed it was. They needed Alphonse to take a look at it before they could be sure.

"I suppose so." He sighed, embarrassment flooding his cheeks with a beet red flush. "I certainly feel like a damn fool." Getting up and helping Evie to her feet, he shook himself off and tried to wipe off the mud again, glancing over at her.

Evelynne accepted his hand as he pulled her to her feet, rubbing the back of her head as she stood. she felt a little dizzy, but she doubted that was entirely due to the fall.

"...Are you alright? I didn't hurt you too badly, did I?" He asked, feeling even worse now about his hasty actions, not making a move towards the music box at first, not wanting to appear as a senseless jerk.

Eve raised her emerald eyes to lock with Ryu's own, "Don't worry about it, Ryu. I'll be fine." She said, smiling at the end to show that she wasn't angry. Her attention turned back to the music box and she hesitantly approached it, eyes inspecting the box and the ground around it for any clues or traps, "I don't see anything suspicious... Do you? I mean it could-" She stopped suddenly when she heard a low and rough growling in the forest, a sound coming from an animal she had never heard before. Well, that wasn't true, there was something familiar about the sound but she couldn't place it. All she knew was that it was a very terrifying and violent sounding animal that she didn't want them to meet face to face. While she was good with magical creatures, there were some that you just couldn't control and she had a feeling this may be one of them.

"Oh!" Dimitri spoke, slowly reaching up to take her hand, not knowing what was about to happen. "Well, uh, I suppose I could suggest the dragon reserve, or maybe the Temple of the Elders..."

Natasha nodded, continuing to smile, "the Temple of the Elders sounds interesting." She remarked, leaning forward to close the space between their hands while at the same time she plucked the glass ball from the belt around her waist. She held the ball at her side, hoping she was right to think she only had seconds left. Her hand connected with the young boys and she gripped it firmly in her own, "I'm sorry to say, though, that my trip has been cut short. I'm going to go back now and you're coming with me, Dimitri." Her voice had lost the bright happy tone that she had been forced to use for the past hour, and her smile darkened considerably as she eyed the boy. "Actually, I'm not sorry to say that. I fucking hated every moment of being here." She dead panned and suddenly felt the pull from somewhere behind her belly button that alerted her to the fact that the port key was about to work. Natasha tightened her grip on the boys arm, not caring if it bruised the boy, and felt the sand beneath them suddenly vanish in an instead as the port key whisked them away from the beach.

within half a second, which had really felt much longer, there was a loud POP! and they were on the castle floor in the middle of the living room at Lucius' feet. She stood up, still gripping the boy's arm, and tossed the glass ball at Lucius while holding Dimitri firmly at her side, "Merry Christmas, Lucius." She said with a half a smile, auburn hair curling around her face as she used her free hand to brush sand from her long pale legs.

Five... four... three... two... one...

Lucius smiled as the hour completed itself, the melodic chimes from a nearby grandfather clock heralding Natasha's return.  As the ethereal light from the portkey faded, the dark wizard could see that his assassin had succeeded in her task.

She stood up, still gripping the boy's arm, and tossed the glass ball at Lucius while holding Dimitri firmly at her side, "Merry Christmas, Lucius." She said with a half a smile, auburn hair curling around her face as she used her free hand to brush sand from her long pale legs.

Smiling, Lucius raised his hand and efortlessly caught the trinket between two spindly fingers.  A wave of his wand transfigured the sphere into an ornate silver key.  "And a happy New Year, no?" he replied as he deposited the key in Natasha's hand.  "West wing, third door on the right.  I believe if you look there you'll find a rather generous holiday bonus.  Unless, of course," he added with a smirk, "you want to help with the interrogations downstairs first."

Without listening for a response, Lucius turned to the little boy, who by now was trembling feom head to toe with fear.  "You must be him," the sinister man sneered, a cruel smile plastered on his face.  "You'll do."

Sparing no pity on the terrified child, Lucius snatched the bou's wrist and yanked him down the hallway that lead towards the dungeons.

"Perhaps so. But we won't know for sure until we can get our Potions expert to verify it." Hermione stated. ...With not much else to do, she simply sat down next to Harry, placing the potion in her robes for sake keeping as she wrapped her arms around her knees, placing her chin atop her hands.

---

Evelynne accepted his hand as he pulled her to her feet, rubbing the back of her head as she stood. she felt a little dizzy, but she doubted that was entirely due to the fall.

All she knew was that it was a very terrifying and violent sounding animal that she didn't want them to meet face to face. While she was good with magical creatures, there were some that you just couldn't control and she had a feeling this may be one of them.

Ryu suddenly whirled around towards the direction of the sound.

"Ruddy hell." He spat, his upper lip curling up, keeping his wand up as well as one of his knives. "Now what...?" Keeping his weapons at the ready, the thief quickly cast another Protego charm around them just to be safe, although he wasn't sure if it would really do anything, before casting a Lumos spell to try to illuminate the woods nearby to see if he could cast a little light on the situation.

Natasha nodded, continuing to smile, "the Temple of the Elders sounds interesting." Her voice had lost the bright happy tone that she had been forced to use for the past hour, and her smile darkened considerably as she eyed the boy.

"What?" The younger boy eyes suddenly went wide.

She said with a half a smile, auburn hair curling around her face as she used her free hand to brush sand from her long pale legs.

The younger Nightwing, never having felt the pull of Portkey transportation before, also felt the pull of the magic from behind his navel. Feeling the sensation of whirling around in a vortex, he distantly felt the hard ground slam into his stomach--or he would have, if it weren't for the fact Natasha was holding him up. Slightly disoriented, he quickly came to his senses as he realized he wasn't on Dragon's Nest Isle anymore. Wherever this place was, it was cold--save for the feeling of warmth from the nearby fireplace.

Dimitri was rather frightened now. His brown eyes grew large with fear, his mouth hanging open--unable to form any sounds.

Sparing no pity on the terrified child, Lucius snatched the boy's wrist and yanked him down the hallway that lead towards the dungeons.

Almost immediately, Dimitri realized that this was NOT somewhere he wanted to be. Trying to yank away himself, the boy tried to struggle, but it was futile against the adult's superior strength. Quickly coming to the conclusion that he would be unable to overpower the adult on his own through pure brute power alone, he went for a more...underhanded option. ...By that, Dimitri bit Lucius--sinking his teeth into the dark wizard's hand as deep and as hard as could to get him to let go in order in a desperate attempt to open up a chance to bolt.

A hideous shriek escaped Lucius' lips when the Nightwing boy bit him in the hand. "Damn brat!" he cried as he withdrew his hand from the child's arm. It took only a fraction of a second for the man to realize the folly of his instinct. The boy hadn't gotten far when Lucius sent a spell in his direction. "Crucio!" The dark wizard reveled in the shrill scream of his captive, the virgin scream of one who had never experienced true pain.

"I trust that you will learn to not do that again," Malfoy snarled, kicking the boy's shaking body for good measure. Not wishing to take any more chances, Lucius magically bound and gagged the child and used a simple levitation charm to move him drown the hall. As he apprached his destination, the door to his prisoners' quarters opened at the warlock's presence. A flick of Lucius' wand threw the boy into the room at Drake's feet.

"I've brought you a present," the man sneered, leaning pompously on his staff. "Shall we negotiate?"

Drake's ears perked up as well, having heard the sounds with his relatively sharp hearing as well. However, it wasn't just the music box that he heard--the voices from nearby could also be heard--but they were faint, mere whispers.

"Yeah, I hear...I hear something. Sounds like music. And whispers to me, but I can't make anything--" Drake suddenly went silent, as he heard a very powerful shriek. As Dimitri had bitten Lucius, the young boy did indeed take the brief window of opportunity provided to him to make a break for it...but unfortunately, he got about maybe ten paces when he was suddenly struck by the most powerful, excruciating soul rending agony he had ever experienced flood every fiber of his being. Dimitri hadn't even realized he was screaming until after he had hit the floor, hard.

Drake's eyes--if at all possible--suddenly went even wider.

"...no..." He whispered. "No..."

"I trust that you will learn to not do that again," Malfoy snarled, kicking the boy's shaking body for good measure. Not wishing to take any more chances, Lucius magically bound and gagged the child and used a simple levitation charm to move him drown the hall. As he approached his destination, the door to his prisoners' quarters opened at the warlock's presence. A flick of Lucius' wand threw the boy into the room at Drake's feet.

Due to the extreme pain he had already suffered, the poor boy was already teetering on the edge of unconsciousness. The swift boot to his stomach was the breeze that extinguished the candle and his view of the world went black. When the door was opened and Dimitri was unceremoniously tossed into the room, his elder brother was on him almost immediately.

"DIMITRI!!" Drake hollered, panic present in his voice. Cradling his younger brother, his worst fears realized, he clutched his sibling to his chest--checking him over.

"I've brought you a present," the man sneered, leaning pompously on his staff. "Shall we negotiate?"

The half-dragon however, saw that despite the injuries his younger kin had sustained--he would ultimately survive. Still, that scream--Dimitri had been hit with dark magic of a powerful sort. Turning his head to glare at the dark wizard, Drake's eyes began to....glow. Rather dangerously, at that. His pupils slowly all but completely vanished in the golden hue of his irises.

Nobody....harmed...his family.

"...you...hurt...my...brother." He hissed, fangs baring and his hair beginning to rise on end, as he slowly laid Dimitri down. This man--who so callously battered HIS brother--this ma--no, this slimeball, who so callously ordered his own son to die, was TAUNTING them, still expecting a...comple-te-ly WiLlInG dIPlLOmATIc--"...you...hurt...my...BROTHER!!"

With an inhuman speed, Drake leapt directly from his kneeling position on the floor to full-body tackle Lucius to the ground--his hands immediately wrapping around Lucius' neck in a throttling vicegrip, letting out an bestial bellow of primal fury. His mind already completely consumed by pure, unadulterated rage, Drake began to physically and savagely tear into the man with absolutely no regard for his own well-being...

...or that of his allies.

Jim appeared in the staircase a short time before Natasha appeared, watching her hand Dimitri over to Lucius. As the man disappeared, he couldn't help but to wonder how wise of a decision this had been - despite raising at least one son, his associate was one of the last people on Earth to be entrusted with the safety of a child.

He brought forth a small pocket watch, opening the lid with a little click. If their visitors hadn't done anything unforeseen, then his trap would soon take effect by itself. His eyes snapped to Natasha's position the moment he heard the first scream, recognizing it only slightly later to be the voice of Lucius. At the second scream, he closed the lid with an angry little huff. Of course that bastard would hurt the child unnecessarily.

"Wonderful," he said, slightly sarcastically, in an incredibly light voice.

-- -- -- -- -- --

Al nodded silently as Sander refused treatment. "Just tell me if you change your mind."

"Yeah, I will," he promised.

"Sander, Drake, did you guys hear anything?" he asked, his brow furrowed with confusion.

Still disoriented by his headache, Sander shook his head in confusion. Heightened senses by the full-moon was one thing, but a large bump to the head was enough to shift his attention for a good while.

"Yeah, I hear...I hear something. Sounds like music. And whispers to me, but I can't make anything--" Drake suddenly went silent, as he heard a very powerful shriek.

"Ka faen, what was that?" Sander said, terrified once more. "T-t-that sounded like a-"

"...no..." [Drake] whispered. "No..."

He remained standing with his mouth slightly open, horrified at the scene that played out before him. It didn't take too high of an IQ to gather that the young boy on the floor was Drake's brother, but he still found himself unable to say anything as Drake attacked Lucius. He looked to Alphonse, silently asking what to do now.

Lucius barely had time to react before Drake was on him. The vile man was knocked down by an indescribable force, and within seconds he was being pummeled by blow after blow.

Al caught Sander's glance and immediately knew he had to do something. "Stop, Drake, you'll kill him!" the half elf shouted. A simple repulsion spell from Al sent Drake flying away from Lucius. He hit the opposite wall of the room with such force that the impact left cracks on the stone. Al rushed over to his friend, pulling him to his feet. "Get a hold of yourself!" he shouted. "I don't care what he did to Dimitri, I will not let you kill him. Don't get me wrong, I hate Malfoy too, but revenge isn't worth sinking down to his level!"

After Drake was removed from his chest, Lucius stood up once more, healing some of the deeper wounds with his wand. "So, you want to play rough,do you, Nightwing?" he snarled, not even bothering to thank Alphonse. "I'm game." A flick of his wand caused a small chest to appear from nowhere. Lucius slowly opened the box, holding it open for all to see its contents. Inside was an ornate necklace, made of silver and embedded with opals. It seemed to be antique, as the silver had a considerable amount of tarnish on it.

"I trust you recognize this, Alphonse, Drakengarde?" the man said, smirking tiumphantly. "Gave Hogwarts quite a bit of trouble back in the good old days; I've even heard that it nearly killed poor Angelina Johnson." The necklace floated out of its container and hovered over Dimitri, just inches over his face. "And, if I remember, it only touched poor Angie through a minuscule hole in her glove," Lucius continued, his smirk changing into a sinister grin. "Imagine what would happen if it came into full contact with a person?"

"What the hell do you think you're doing, you bastard?!" Al cried, taking an aggravated step towards Lucius. "Don't you know how dangerous that thing is?"

"Oh, I know full well, Mister Wendsleydale," the dark wizard said. "And I would advise both of you to think twice before you say or do anything. After all, it's so easy to lose concentration and break a levitation charm." Just as he finished talking, the necklace dropped, stopping only a millimeter from Dimitri's pale face before rising again. Al reached forwards, as if to stop it, but stopped himself before he took a step towards Lucius' bad side. "Oops," Lucius whispered, a spark of malice glinting in his eyes.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere? Do you need a Healer?" Ron asked, in a bit of a rapid-fire method. He glanced over at the wrecked Jeep, wondering how he was going to get himself and the man anywhere without reliable transportation...

"'M fine.. I jus..." Smith mumbled something more most of it incoherent ramblings. He suddenly drew a deep breath and stood up properly. "zws. Maz. Kre.. Kreazil. You have the potions, that Kreazil had. You.. Oh shit." Smith stumbled into the house as quickly as he could, emerging with some brooms a minute later. "If you have the potions and knew which ones to give then you've captured that bastard. Show me where, quickly! We need to stop him now!" He handed Ron a broom, coughing a bit as he moved about.

*(Sorry for not jumping into the fray with an update all ready here. I barely slept at all last Christmas Eve night and outside out being up to eat a little brunch and open up presents with parents I practically did nothing but sleep all day today. >XD LMFAO)*

"Whoa! Whoa, Mr. Smith, take a deep breath! Calm down, don't strain yourself!" Ron stated, grasping one of the brooms in his hands. "We've got him secured. He's not going anywhere." Still, the young Auror quickly took a glance at the broom--feeling significantly more comfortable with it than a Muggle vehicle, or attempting to Apparate.

"He's at the dragon preserve just a few minutes north. We should be able to get there quickly." He stated, slinging his leg over the enchanted object.

---

[Sander] remained standing with his mouth slightly open, horrified at the scene that played out before him.

Drake didn't care at all--hearing Al, but choosing not to listen to him. The man hurt his family--he had even willingly murdered his own! He didn't deserve to live! He wanted to kill him! Opening his mouth, Drake was just about to sink his fangs into the man's exposed jugular when--

NO!! Drake snarled, twisting away from the half-elf! NO!! Luci--no, his prey was right there and this...this elf was denying him his prize?! Baring his fangs in a deep snarl, his eyes narrowed with a feral hiss. He glared, his fists tightening enough to actually draw blood from his own hands, dark thoughts raging through his head as he focused his priorities. The elf would die first as to not get in his way again, and then his prey would...

However, after having seen all that, Drake's thought process was brought to a crashing halt. He did indeed recognize the opal amulet, remembering it from the news--though if memory had served him properly, hadn't it been Katie Bell that had fallen victim to it's dark curse? ...It didn't matter, all he knew is that it had cursed to kill anybody it touched. To have his brother--his only sibling, threatened with such danger--Drake snarled again, feeling himself drive further into rage again.

That did it. He no longer cared. Come hell or high water, Lucius Malfoy would die before this night was over for even daring to harm his brethren. If anyone opposed him? Then, damn it, so be it. He wasn't going to just stand around and be helpless! He wasn't going to just sit down and be a good little pup, not while somebody he love was clearly in danger.

His mind was twisting, images flashing back to that day...

"No..." Drake weakly gasped out as he attempted to block the images. Tears came to his eyes. "Grandpa...Grandpa...not again...NOT AGAIN!" Sliding down to his knees, his hands grasped at the side of his head. "What am I going to do...?"

"He's at the dragon preserve just a few minutes north. We should be able to get there quickly."

Smith spoke as he mounted the broom. "There is no such thing as secure when it comes to Kreazil. I just I hope I get there in time to kill him myself."
He sped up and away, towards the dragon reserve Ron talked about.

Had this been any other day of the month, save perhaps the day after this one, Sander wouldn't have been able to say at word. Angry on Drake's behalf, not to mention horrified by this man's cruelty - everyday Sander would have drawn into himself, refusing to let reality scare him any further. Unfortunately, the werewolf was currently going through a mentioned stream of uncontrollable mood-swings, and though he had been quite calm up until now, a little trigger in him snapped.

"Don't be stupid, Mr Malfoy," Sander spat with a surprising amount of hatred behind his words, his eyes slightly more purple than usual. Since he went to Durmstrang, he had no idea what that necklace was, but he could give a wild guess.

"I don't know what that thing does, but just how long do you think you'll be able to hold it? If you kill the boy, I can only think of a very few amount of things able to stop his brother from tearing you apart. And if you manage to find a way to hold the child constant hostage -- how long before we, or anyone else, does something everyone will regret in order to save him?

We're not going to work for you. In fact, if Drake doesn't manage to rip your throat out, I'll be more than happy to finish the job for him. So, what are you going to do? Kill us, and wait for the back-up, which are currently making their way here, so that they can take you down? Are you going to walk out of here and have your crazy what's-his-face take care of the dirty work for you?

Or perhaps you and your bloody lackeys can take the highroad straight to hælvete, piss off, and leave us alone?" The last words were said in a quite literal growl, before the boy seemingly calmed down. His expression remained angered, his eyes didn't change back, but he took a step back, looking very confused with his own words. Then his face grew slightly more worried once more -- there was no way Malfoy was going give that speech a positive reaction. Well, positive for them, anyway.

The pocket-watch came back up, not even a minute later. Something ought to happen soon, James thought to himself. The outsiders didn't have long to get here, going by the sounds coming from downstairs. Whatever Lucius was up to, he did hope the bastard didn't go and get himself killed. He always got the blame when his associates died, and quite frankly, it was getting a bit tiring. Calling him a wild card because they practically suicided themselves to death, which was hereby a phrase he'd never use again, leaving him with all the work.

"Well," he said in a low, yet conversational tone, taking another look at his watch. "I do believe this is what they call 'the calm before the storm'."

(( IF IT TOUCHES YOU, YOU DIE OF SUICIDE. Who can guess the reference. Come on. ))

Natasha took the key in her hand and twirled it between two fingers as Lucius spoke, “I’ll join you in a minute, if you don’t mind. I hardly look fear inducing in this outfit.” She replied, silently noting the fact that she was also barefoot, having left her shoes in the sand back at the beach.

Without listening for a response, Lucius turned to the little boy, who by now was trembling feom head to toe with fear. "You must be him," the sinister man sneered, a cruel smile plastered on his face. "You'll do."

Natasha let go of Dimitri and turned away from the pair without another glance, not caring what Lucius did with the boy. She had made it halfway across the room, on her way to the West Wing, before se heard a hideous shriek echo across the room. Out of pure instinct, she found herself fully spun around, black sarong on the ground with a gun held firmly in her right hand which was pointed in the direction of the sound.

She lowered the gun and silently watched Lucius for a moment, eyes narrowed in disgust. While Natasha wasn’t opposed to torture (on the contrary, she was actually exceptionally good at it), she had never tortured a child. Even if she had to, she doubted very much that she would get the sick satisfaction out of it like Lucius did.

"I trust that you will learn to not do that again," Malfoy snarled, kicking the boy's shaking body for good measure. Not wishing to take any more chances, Lucius magically bound and gagged the child and used a simple levitation charm to move him drown the hall.

She turned around then and noticed that Jim had been looking at her, liking assuming the high pitched scream had come from her. She raised the key between her fingers, as though that would explain where she was going, and then quickly walked to the West Wing.

She could hear screaming and crashing coming from the dungeons and sighed loudly. Leave it to Lucius to fuck something this easy up. Well, she would deal with it in a moment. It really was of no concern to her if Lucius got himself hurt, though getting himself killed probably wouldn’t look to good on her record…

She unlocked the large door and walked into a dimly lit room full, which was full of elaborate weapons. Her features lit up at the sight and she laughed to herself, shaking her head slowly, “At least you know how to give a gift, Lucius.” She muttered, stepping further into the room. She looked over some of the weapons while slipping out of the bathing suit, placing it back in her tiny belt pocket, and then pulled out her normal outfit and got dressed. All the while she could hear the screaming and yelling getting louder in the dungeons and she grudgingly decided she couldn’t ignore it any longer.

“Mustn’t be greedy.” She spoke out loud, running a finger along a few of her favourite weapons in the room, and then quickly selected three of them (despite wanting to take them all): A high powered dart gun full of poisonous darts that would magically refill itself (with a convenient switch would also allow her to change the potion that filled the darts), A long leather whip that could sprout hundreds of blades along it’s length, and a set of 10 potions (varying in strength and effect).

Natasha tossed the small key on the counter and left the room, making her way quickly to the main room again so that she could cross to the dungeons. The shouting had stopped for the moment, which she thought was more concerning than the yelling, and it caused her pace to quicken.

"Well," he said in a low, yet conversational tone, taking another look at his watch. "I do believe this is what they call 'the calm before the storm'."

Natasha had just entered the room when Jim spoke. She kept walking, but looked up to lock eyes with his own, “You have an interesting idea of what calm is, James.” She remarked, unholstering the heavy gun at her hip, “I’m going to make sure Lucius hasn’t completely fucked this whole thing up. You coming?” She asked and was going to wait for a response when she heard the shouting start up again. Swearing under her breath, she moved swiftly out of the room and down the hall to the dungeon.

She was met with quite the sight. Lucius looked like he had been mangled by some sort of animal (one cautious glance around assured her it wasn’t the werewolf), Drake was crying against the far wall, the elf was standing between the lizard and the werewolf who looked as though he was about to change at any moment. Then, in the middle of the room, lay Dimitri with a beautiful (though eiry) necklace floating above him. She had arrived just in time to hear the end of Sander’s threat, which hung in the air.

Or perhaps you and your bloody lackeys can take the highroad straight to hælvete, piss off, and leave us alone?" The last words were said in a quite literal growl, before the boy seemingly calmed down.

“I’d hardly say I’m a lackey.” Natasha commented dryly, not looking at Sander but rather at Lucius. “This has seemed to play out rather nicely for you, hasn’t it?” She dead panned, cool grey eyes regarding Lucius in annoyance.

Natasha flicked the safety off her gun and pointed it directly at Sander, her stance strong but her voice uninterested, “Calm down, mutt, or you’re going to change and I’m not promising to shoot you before you tear apart your little group of friends.”

-----------------------------------------

"Ruddy hell." He spat, his upper lip curling up, keeping his wand up as well as one of his knives. "Now what...?" Keeping his weapons at the ready, the thief quickly cast another Protego charm around them just to be safe, although he wasn't sure if it would really do anything, before casting a Lumos spell to try to illuminate the woods nearby to see if he could cast a little light on the situation

Evelynne unconsciously moved closer to Ryu, straining to see into the dark forest. She could only see the outline of trees, but the sound of the beast rumbled in the shadows, “Okay, we need to figure this thing out now and get out of here.” She whispered, placing a hand on Ryu’s arm to force him to start moving slowly backwards. The protego charm moved with them and they slowly made it back far enough that the music box appeared within their little bubble.

While she wasn’t sure if the box would explode at any moment, it seemed safer than leaving the bubble. Her eyes searched the box, long fingers running over the entire thing (she flinched when she noticed that she still had some of Charlie’s blood on her hands), and frowned, “I don’t know.” She sighed, tossed her messy muddy hair from her face. The song needed to end (or at least she thought it did), and so she eyed the handle for a moment. It was completely still and she had noticed that it was moving around before, when the music had played… hmm…

“Ryu, I’m sorry if this kills us.” She said quickly, grabbing the handle at the side of the music box and pulling it down to (hopefully) continue the song.

"Oh, it's going to get a lot worse than this," Jim promised with a little wink, shaking his head when she asked if he'd be joining them downstairs. "Someone needs to keep an eye out for the approaching 'army'. You might want to consider an escape-route yourself, my dear."

As Natasha disappeared, a small glimmer in his vision told him that the handle of his box had been turned. With a small glance at his watch he remarked, "and still with half a minute to spare," before smiling to himself. This was why they didn't let the wild card be in charge.

As Evelynne turned the handle, the last few notes of the song played themselves out beautifully.

My ~ Fair ~ Lady ~ .

The last tick sounded more like a loud click, and the lid of the box flew open. Inside were a small potion, and a note.

Some battles are wiser to be taken in the air,
should your adversary be of a certain kind.
Though, I foresee a quick ending to this whole affair,
if you have left your brooms and dragons behind.

But fear not, my interesting foes,
for I bring you some aid!
In dodging all the blows,
For it is not my intention
for you to be dismayed.

Drink the potion and gain wings like a bird
Or you could fight this monster face-to-face
But I'd rather you take my word.
And avoid your own disgrace.

Yours truly,
-- J. C.

Bravery be damned, there was no way he was going to take up a fight of insults with a person currently pointing a gun directly at him. Sander knew he was going to get in trouble for his words, he'd just hoped Lucius would have the time to focus on him, so that Drake could have more time to calm down. Didn't look like that was going to work.
