In 1915, there was small scale zoo was being run in the forests of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. There were very few animals but they were all well taken care of. One of the most fascinating species was the African lions. Hundreds came to see them. They allowed the zoo to prosper.

One day, the valley the zoo was located in flooded unexpectedly. The zoo was evacuated immediately but during the process, the lions escaped and disappeared into the forest. The owners and caretakers searched for weeks and never found a trace of the five missing lions. They eventually gave up the search, thinking the lions had died.

Almost 100 years later, and signs of the lions have been surfacing. Hikers have found footprints and people have caught pictures of elusive big cats roaming the forests. Many have also heard unusual calls, seen shadows, and found unusually large amounts of fresh kills in close proximity.

People are growing suspicious.


What they don't know is a lion pride of 8 lionesses and many adolescents led by two adult brothers. The pride lives in a rocky area where they are concealed and protected by the crevices and tunnels that are now dens. They thrive on the vast wildlife in the area and their coats have even grown longer throughout the generations. They have remained unknown by humans for almost 100 years and stay away from all human civilizations.

They continue to thrive.
