Introduction

[Had to make another one because the last one died-.-]

... ~ The words are burning in the back of your throat. Just itching to slip past your lips. But you won't let them past. 'Cause you know. You know the ugly truth. ~ ...

You know.

1]You know how she lies. You can tell by the way her dark eyebrow twitches when she speaks to you. And how her bottom lip quivers ever so slightly, and the way her hand drifts up to subconciously brush a strand of hair away from her hauntingly beautiful face as she explain that her boss is keeping her for the nightshift. And shes telling the truth; partly. Her boss is making her do nightshift, but not at work nor her office. But at his home.

You know.

2]You know the presise movements he makes when he does it. First comes the sudden interest in his shoes. Then the constant wrist rubbing. You know him all too well. Painfully well. Now hes telling you how he has to go to his brothers house for the third time this week. He's slowly edging his way to the door and you don't move. You don't even make a sound because he's drunk, and he gets rough with you when hes not sober. The blue and purple marks on your arms are enough to convince you to leave him alone tonight.

You know.

3]She's yelling now. You don't even care to remember about what though, you just know it was something pointless. Useless. Stupid. But you know why she does it. You just don't understand how she could. She picks fights on purpose now, just for an excuse to storm out of the house, to get away from you. She takes the car and comes back at around three in the morning, just like always, smelling of cologne and cigars. She doesn't even try to hide it, and it kills you to know where shes been.

You know.

4]Your both watching a movie now. Curled up on the sofa, cuddling close. Your eyes are glued to the TV and his are glued to his cellphone. He's smiling softly now, but not at the movie nor you. He's smiling at his cellphone, to be exact, the text on his cellphone, and you already know this. He's been spending more time on the phone now, more than with you, and you know why. You know because you overheard him in the bathroom, talking dirty into the cellphone, using the same lips he uses to whisper sweet nothings into your ear at night.

You know.

5] Shes a box of trouble laced with pain, and you knew it to begin with. Your friends warned you about her reputation but you didn't listen. You thought you could change her ways, that you could be a loving couple. You thought wrong.
You can practically see the wheels turning in her head now, contemplating on which lie she should feed you. Which death sentence. She chooses the "Girls Night" lie to feed you, and you try to talk her into going to dinner, but shes shoving the lie down your throat and you know its useless. Shes stubborn and hard-headed and she always gets what she wants.

You know.

6] He's perfect; or atleast thats what everyone says. But there wrong and you know it. He's just an amazing actor.
Your amazed at how easily he lies. He's so good at it you wish you could believe him. You wish you could believe him like everyone else, but you can't. You Won't. Not since that day you caught him with your sister. Your trying to build back your relationship, slowly rekindle it, but its falling apart into pieces. Pieces that your afraid, won't be able to be put back together.

We know the ugly truth in it all.

But then theres him.

This was the boy you spent countless summers with, the boy who you shared ice cream with and ate candy until your tummies hurt. He was..well, him. You knew him. You knew everything about him, the freckles on his face, the hairs on his head, you were bestfriends afterall.
But then something changed. You started noticing things you didn't quite see before; the slight sparkles in his faint eyes, the way he threw his head back and laughed when you cracked a lame joke, the way his large hands occasionally ran through his dark hair. Something changed, and you don't know what. And thats the thing that drives you crazy; You don't know.

~ . ~ . ~ . ~ .~ .~ .~ . ~

Soo, the plot is that a group of six friends end up falling for eachother while trying to find comfort. Somewhere in that little motive, they end up finding something more than comfort, something that they can't seem to grip there minds around. L o v e.

~ . ~ .~ .~ .~

"I'll be back Sunday," He reassures you as he re-positions himself in the seat across from you.

You don't look at him though, just keep your gaze on the brown swirling liquid in front of you. It's beginning to turn cold but you don't care, You just keep your indifferent front up and your heart down. He isn't looking at you anyway. He's someone else now and your convinced some kind of super natural thing happened to make him this way. Something must've happened.

You finally speak up, "That's almost a week."

He shrugs, lifts his cup up to his thin lips and takes a sip as you restrain yourself from breaking down right in the middle of the Cafe. You wouldn't give him the satisfaction though, not even if he spoke those two words that you anticipated for everyday. 'We're done'
He's looking at you weird now, tilting his head slightly and cocking an eyebrow and you'd wish he'd stop.
He reaches over the round table and jabs your nose playfully, making you break into a fit of giggles, earning you a lopsided grin.
And It's times like these when you think its all worth it. Times like these when you don't care how many times he leaves you all alone, or about those unbidden lies that roll off his tongue. Times just like these.

But now hes getting up as you stay seated, and your gripping your cup with some kind of needy desperation that only he could throw upon you. You hate it. You hate him, but you need him, and you hate that too.
With a quick kiss and a "Love you Rob", hes out the door, making the bells on the door jingle as the sound kisses your ears.

Propping your elbow up on the table, you keep your gaze on the cup of coffee he left behind, black and bitter, just how he liked it. Bitter.
Sliding your hand into your jean pocket, you flip open your phone and go to your inbox, scanning through nothing's as you roll the silver stud in your tongue along the roof of your jaw.
The buzz of the Cafe is giving you a migraine, and you spontaneously decide to invite your friends for coffee because you miss having them around and having fun.. Or maybe just because you want that empty seat in front of you to be filled.

Up 4 coffee at Ann's Cafe.?

You click send, buy another coffee and a donut, then seat yourself back down solemnly, avoiding eye contact to the people around you as you brush strands of your hair away from your eyes.

~ .~ . ~ .~ .~

[OOC: Sorry if it sucked. I'm bad with beginnings. ]
EDIT* I'm sorry I said 3rd person. I got confused and..It's not third person. It's..I dont know. It's something xD Thanks Chinchilla for pointing that out.. Ahh. That's embarrassing.

Lucia picked up the last back piece that was laying on the dresser in front of her, securing it tightly on the back of her diamond earring. Her eyes were fixed on her reflection but then moved to her boyfriend who had just entered their bedroom. Coming up from behind her, he placed his hands on her waist, burying his face into the nape of her neck and inhaling her scent. The feeling of him being close to her immediately sent a chill up her spine and a smile was then painted across her full lips.

"I love you." he whispered, "and I would love you more if you just stay home with me today." he said with a grin, pulling away from her neck and resting his chin on her shoulder, his back slouched so that he was even height with her.

Her smiled turned in to a playful pout as she reached for her make-up brush, applying just a little bight of light brown eyeshadow.

"I wish I could, really I do. But there are things I got to take care of today, you know?" she said, as she leaned back, her neck stretching as she was now letting the back of her neck rest on his shoulder, being cheek to cheek with him.

He pulled away gently, and made his way to the bed, plopping down and laying back as he stared to the ceiling.

"Yeah, I know. Ever since they cut my hours I've just been so bored here alone, with nothing-" he paused, as his phone began to go off.

She expected it. It was just about that time. Supposedly, it was his sister, as always.

"Tell her I said hi." Lucie said under her breath as she watched him through the mirror, take out his phone and begin to text.

She kept quiet, as she grabbed her purse and made her way out the bedroom and to the front door. It was nothing new. Once his phone went off, it was always complete silence, especially right before she was about to leave. It's been 3 months since she's had a kiss goodbye. She pushed back any feeling of sorrow, walking out of the apartment and to her car. Mounting in, she started the engine immediately and pulled off, headed to run a few errands. When she came to a light, she heard her phone buzzing in her purse. Reaching over she retrieved it, replying quickly to Robin's text.

I sure am.

She replied, making a quick left turn once the light turned green. She pulled up to a parking spot, got out of her car and reached for her wallet taking out a few quarters and placing them in the meter. With a heavy sigh, she turned to the cafe and pushed open the glass door. Lucie made her typical eye catching entrance. She was a sight to see, but she never really took much pride in her beauty. She always wanted people to appreciate her for her mind and of course, her heart. With a smile, she spotted Robin quickly, lifting her hand up with a short wave. She brushed her long strands of light brown hair out of her face, her pale blue eyes falling to the floor as she walked towards Robin, her wedges making an echoing noise along the tiles of the cafe. Pulling a seat out, she sat down across from her a smile playing across her lips.

"What are you doing here so early? Where's.." she asked, though she paused, her face in a puzzled look.

Elena was putting the finishing touches on her makeup, just recieving Robin's text. She heard faint footsteps by the door, and froze.

"Jacob? Jake, is that you?" Elena asked, slowly walking towards the door to their condo.

She saw Jacob there, having trouble getting his sneakers on. He was cursing and throwing them around, clearly intoxicated. Elena knew him all to well. Whenever he fumbled with his shoes and cursed at them, he was drunk. Elena put one hand on her hip, and leaned against the wall. He just noticed her presence, and grumbled some more.

"I'm goinnn out." Jake slurred, finally getting his right shoe on. Elena looked at her phone to see the time. 4:03 pm. She sighed, and she hated that it edged towards a sob.

"Jake, it's 4 oclock. Stay. Here. With me. I was going to go to the cafe, that might be good for you. To get some coffee. Right, baby?" Elena asked, stepping towards him, trying to wrap her arms around his strong frame. When she came in contact with him, he roughly pushed her away. Elena stumbled back a few steps from the blow.

"Don't try andd telllme what I cando biiiiiiiiitch." Jacob slurred, getting his other shoe on. He stood up off the wall he was leaning on, and yanked open the front door. As soon as he was about to walk out, Elena cautiously touched his arm. Suprisingly, he didn't shake her off. She let her hand slip down to his, and slowly pulled him back to her. She pulled him right against her, and she looked up into his eyes. He was always taller than her, but that gave her a feeling of security. At least, it used to. She smiled, and got on her tiptoes. She gently pressed her lips to his, and that fire was there again. He burried his hands in her hair and pressed her against the wall. They both were panting heavily, and then Jake broke away. He quickly stepped away from her, and his face was furious.

"YOU ALWAYS DO THIS! I HAVE A LIFE!" Jacob screamed at her. Elena grabbed his arm, trying to pull him back fully inside. He yanked his arm away, and punched her hard on her right arm. Elena cried out, and stepped away from him.

"I might not even come back later, I HATEEEEYOU when you act like this!" Jacob yelled at her. Furious, he turned and slammed out of the glass door in front of the wooden front door. Elena pushed open the door, and ran out in her slippers, sleep shorts, and tank top. There were tears in her eyes, not giving her a full view of him.

"YOU KNOW WHAT? I MIGHT NOT EVEN BE HERE WHEN YOU GET BACK JACOB! I...I COULD LEAVE YOU, YOU KNOW! SO TREAT WHAT YOU HAVE BETTER, OR IT WILL BE GONE!" Elena screamed at him, her voice shaky from tears. He glared at her, then hoped in his car. He sped off, making tire noises. Elena cried some more, and gently placed her left hand on her right arm. It was swollen, and very bruised. She ran back inside, and quickly got dressed. She had to make sure that the long sleeve black t-shirt she put on covered her stomach wound, and her newest arm bruise. Once she had her black v-neck on, and her favorite Hollister shorts on, she headed back to the front door. She then grabbed her cell phone and her keys. Elena took a quick look in the mirror, fixed her smudged makeup, and ran out into her car. She sped off towards the cafe, trying not to cry. This always happened. Always.

Elena pulled into a parking spot in front of Lucia's car, and put the coins in the parking meter quickly. She walked into the cafe, and quickly spotted Robin and Lucia. She took a seat next to Robin, and put her head in her hands. She couldn't hold it in anymore. She began to sob. She covered her face, and sobbed silently, tears streaming down her face.

Robin lifted her head as Lucie walked torwards her table, making her sit up straight abrubtly and rub her eyes with the back of her hand. Lucie walked with an easy gait, reminding her of a model as her heels tapped on the marble flooring.

"What are you doing here so early?" She asked as she took a seat. "Where's.." Lucie's smile faltered and she trailed off, leaving the rest of the sentence to hang in the air between them.

Robin cocked an eyebrow and gave her a lopsided grin.

"Robby?" She asked with a tint of amusement in her voice. "Went out with the guys for the weekend." She informed her easily, "Golfing or something." She waved her hand off in dismissal, "Guys will be guys, huh?"

Dropping her gaze on the donut in front of her, she grabbed it between her finger nails, lifted it a few inches off the napkin before dropping it back on the napkin, no longer wanting to eat it.

"So-" She began, she stopped short when the bells of the door rang, making her twist around in her seat to find Elena walking in.

She quickly spotted the red head and brunette and took a seat also. Immediatly dropping her head into her hands. Robin blinked and looked over at Lucie, then back at Elena. What happened? She mouthed to Lucie, hoping maybe she'd know. But before Lucie could reply, Elena had started crying, and the Cafe seemed a bit emptier than before.

Robin knew Elena wasn't the most emotionally stable in the group, and that maybe she had been through more than a person should go through, but to see her break down in the middle of a Cafe disturbed her. It took alot to break someone like that. Even if it was Elena, she didn't just break down for no reason. Robin had seen Elena cry only once the entire time she knew her, which was when they were fourteen.

Was it her family? Did someone die? Does she have cancer? Did he break up with her..?

Her mind raced with conclusions as she stood up and took a seat next to her and scooting close, awkwardly placing a reassuring hand onto Elena's shoulder. She could feel the sobs rack her shoulders as she muffled her crying into her hands and soon they were silent, making Robin part her lips slightly, as if to say something, but stopped and pressed her lips together.
She wasn't really good with this stuff. Emotional kind of things, that is. It just wasn't her cup of tea. Especially when it came to friends. She couldn't stand seeing one of her bestfriends cry, and anger flared up inside her at the thought of that it was someone's fault for those tears.

"What happened..?" She asks, pushing Elena's blonde hair away from her tear streaked face. She glanced up at Lucie, then back to Elena.

What happened?

"Golfing?" Lucie said as she chuckled lightly, "I can just picture him." she finished.

She heard the bells gently chime as the door of the cafe swung open, her eyes jeting quickly towards the entrance. She watched as Elena made her way towards them, with a saddened look on her face. Lucie herself, could relate to that empty look. She swallowed her words and watched Elena as she sat down and began to sob almost uncontrollably. She took notice of Robin moving the strands from her face and Lucie watched as every tear started to coat the wooden cafe table. With a sigh she stood and walked to the front of the cafe to grab a few napkins. Walking back, she sat down holding out the napkins and beginning to pat them on Elena's red, flushed cheeks.

"Its okay, Lena don't cry." she bit her bottom lip, finding it hard to always find the right words to say in situations like this.

Once Elena took the napkins in her hand, she pulled her own hands back and placed them in her lap, her eyes remaining on Elena, then moving to Robin as she mouth the simple name, Jacob. Looking back to Elena she had to admit she felt a bit of comfort knowing she wasn't the only one having a horrible morning. Reaching across the table, she took hold of Elena's hand, her other hand holding on to Robin's just under the table. She truly loved these girls. And valued their friendship. She knew that whatever it was, they could always talk through it and comfort one another.

Elena quickly dabbed her eyes, and forced herself to stop crying.

"I'm sorry guys. It's...it's nothing." When Robin put her hand on Elena's arm, she flinched a little bit. That was the exact spot where Jacob had hit her. But no one knew that. She hated herself for crying in a public place like a little baby. She was more mature than this. Inside, she mentally beat up herself for breaking down. When her best friends see her crying, they automatically think something is wrong. When really, this had happened before. Many, many times before today. But she had never gotten him to at least kiss her before he left. That's what hurt the most to her. Is that honestly, truthfully, he didn't care about her. And it broke her fragile, warm, loving heart.

"I don't even know why my arm hurts so bad. It's kind of weird." Elena said with a shaky voice, trying to change the subject. She bit her lip hard to keep from telling her best friends, her two best friends in the whole world, what had happened between her and Jacob. That was personal buisness. He had even threatened to hurt her if she told anyone. Elena had remembered the exact conversation that went on in their room.

As usual, Jacob was about to go out somewhere. Elena had picked up her keys, and was putting her heels on.

"Since you go out all the time, I need to talk to some people that truely care about me! They'll at least understand what I'm going through." Elena had said. Right before busting out of the door, Jacob had froze. He slowly turned around, and Elena took a step back. He started to advance on her quickly. She turned and ran, but she heard his heavy footsteps right behind her. When she tried to slam the door shut in his face, he slid through the small opening and grabbed her harsly. She had screamed and cried, and he had shaken her violently.

"DON'T YOU EVER TELL ANYONE ABOUT WHAT GOES ON HERE! DO YOU HEAR ME? EVER!" Jacob had warned. Elena had cried and promised she wouldn't. He had tossed her on the floor like a rag doll, while she cried her little heart out. That was the 2nd time Elena had packed her bags. But he came home. And saw the bags. And this pitiful look came in his eyes, and he spoke in that pitiful tone.

"Baby, are you leaving me? I'm sorry about earlier, you know I love you. Only you." He would say, cracking his voice in all the right places. And then, Elena saw the guy she saw in the club a year ago. The guy who thought she was beautiful, the one who would buy her anything she wanted, do whatever she wanted, the one that loved her. And she would unpack. The same cycle all the time.

"I'll just...get some ice or something." Elena said, returning to the present. Her arm was throbbing badly, and she fought the urge to lift her sleeve up and see how bad the wound really was.
