Fears: getting lost, dying, her abusive boyfriend Kurt finding her, growing up,
Hobbies: Stephanie plays the harmonica and loves it. She learned it from her grandfather back when he was still alive and loves to bug the crap out of people with it. Stephanie is also a poet, who centers most of her post about nature and gardens. Also Stephanie plays cooks and enjoys doing it quiet a bit, and usually makes dinner for her family.

Ancestor: Demeter goddess of harvest
Powers: Stephanie can heal plants and bring them back to life at her desire. She can also make them grow wherever she so wishes.

Weaknesses: Stephanie is quick to anger and rather mean for no reason which causes people to draw back from her. Also Stephanie can always find trouble and hates to be broad.
Strengths: Stephanie is good at writing, cooking, brewing and playing the harmonica.

Thoughts: I haven't really meant any Egyptians yet, but hopefully they're okay. The Norse are okay... for now but if they dare mess with me...well it won't be pretty.

Personality: Stephanie is a dreamer rather than a doer. She's known to come up with brilliant ideas, but just don't expect her too actually follow through with them or do them. Because of this in school Stephanie was always turning in incomplete assignments, and her teachers would always tell her that if she'd only finish what she started she'd be in advanced classes. But the truth is, Stephanie can't focus enough on one single thing, she's already moved on to the next thing in a blink of an eye.
There is one thing though that Stephanie has always been good at finishing and that's fights. Granted she often starts them, but she's always sure to finish them on her terms. Because of this reckless behavior, she was often to blame whenever something strange involving the Greeks arose and her family was always the first notified. But despite what most think, Stephanie never uses her powers to fight or cause trouble, she fights like a normal rebellious teenage girl would because let's face it, what could she really do to a person with her powers? Make flowers grow down there hair? Infest there yard with weeds? Poison there vegetable garden?
Beside usually, the times when she's not the one starting anything, she's only sticking up for her sort spoken big brother Bobby, since people can't seem to leave the poor guy alone. Another big part of Stephanie is how loyal she is. Once your Stephanie's friend your stuck with her for life and there's almost nothing you can do to break her trust, or loyalty accept messing with her brothers. Sometimes, her loyalties lie in the wrong places but she won't switch sides or betray anyone. Stephanie is always very set in her ways so don't plan on changing her mind. Step is independent, stubborn, rebellious, troublesome and loyal.

History: Stephanie has just a year apart from both her brothers and is a middle child so she's used to having to share or compromise with people, that doesn't mean she likes it. Stephanie was the second(technically third but that's a long story) born to Lila and Miles Ceres. From an early age Stephanie seemed to figure out on her own that she was different from the other normal children her age and that there were other Greeks like her who had certain powers too. While her older brother Bob was out roaming the streets and watching the sea she was out fighting and allying with the other Greek children, making a clear line of alliances and enemies along the way. She was often jumped and teased by the other Greeks who were always fighting but it made her strong to say the least. Rival gangs and groups often had small fights with her gang or the Greeks she hung around with but none lasted too long.
Because of this Stephanie was rarely involved in befriending normal kids her age and was out of the loop popularity wise. Unlike her older brother who knew little about the Greeks and cared little for them as long as they didn't mess with him. But when Bobby's best friend and girlfriend betrayed him, well Stephanie and a bunch of her Greek friends went out and hammered those popular kids, something that almost got Stephanie court time. To her thought it was all worth it.
Stephanie herself had been in a few rough non Greek relationships. One of her boyfriends, named Kurt was very controlling, he monitored almost everything she did and turned abusive if he thought anything was suspicious. He controlled how she dressed, what she said, and even went as far as to who she hung out with. If it weren't for his incredibly charming sweet side and good looks she probably would have never put up with him. It was surprisingly her younger brother who noticed what was happening a convinced her to get out of the relationship. Once again thanks to the Greek kids another side of town was destroyed.
A few months later she meant a guy named Rich who was actually a lot like her. She was a lot happier around him and loved him more than she could explain. The two were deeply in love it seemed and things were wonderful...until the accident. Rich mistook Stephanie for cheating with him, and he ended up breaking up with her. Riding his motorcycle angrily out of the city not paying much attention he ended up crashing into a tree and dying instantly. Stephanie still regrets the whole thing because she feels she killed him and she never got to say goodbye to him.
Only a little after this the huge fight happened. The one that pretty much destroyed the city and resulted in the Ceres moving to Ireland. Fed up with the city Stephanie was more than ready to leave it behind as she doesn't see how it could get any worst.

Other: Stephanie is a caffeine addict and can't go a morning without coffee.

So begins...

Saturday, 20th July
8.30am

The residents of Northbay have awoken to a surprisingly pleasant summer's day. The weather, by magic or nature, is already a charming 20°C (68°F) and predictions have the maximum temperature reaching a comfortable 25°C (77°F). There are only a few wisps of cloud in the sky and a refreshing breeze can be felt throughout the area.

The main street is being prepared for the festival. It is still open to the public as most of the shops lining the street are likely to stay open until the cordons are put up. There is a definite buzz to the town as those involved in the preparation for the festival work and those who are attending look forward to the nights festivities.

For the town Elders there is a feeling of anxiousness. Will their planned festival help to calm the town's tensions or will it do the opposite?

Ramses Atum

Ram lefted his head and closed his green eyes, soaking up the early morning sun as it bet down on the lake. Cool water sprayed in his face and a constant breeze ruffled his hair. It was perfect sailing weather and Ram had been up since dawn to make the most of it. His one man boat, named 'The Falcon', raced across the lake, skimming across the waves.

Ram opened his eyes as he drew closer to the shore. Standing up in the boat he shielded his eyes from the sunlight glistening off the water and took in the view. There, pretty as a picture, sat Northbay. It fit snuggly between the lakeshore and the hills beyond. He could make out the main street with its small array of shows on either side. There was a large amount of activity in the street, surprising for such a small town and so early on a Saturday.

Then again it was the day of the Lantern Festival. No doubt every spare hand the Elder's could rope into helping was busy putting up decorations. Ram's father Ramsey was a member of the Elders' Council so Ramses was able to get all his information first hand and fresh. The festival was officially an overdue welcome to the Greeks. Unofficially it was to try and calm down the rising animosities between the different groups in the town. As Ram's father had said, if the town could come together and enjoy this one, simple event then they would be one step closer to regaining peace and order.

Ram thought it was a vain hope. He highly doubted that bringing together the whole town into one street would solve anything. Quite the opposite really. Ram knew little of the Greeks but he had grown up with the Norse and his own Egyptian pantheon. He knew enough to understand that there would always be certain individuals who do anything but try to ease tensions.

Shaking such thoughts from his head Ram aimed the boat to shore. A moment later he pulled into the docks, jumping onto the wooden jetty with the ease of practice. He anchored his boat to the jetty, tying it securely. The day may have been calm now but Ram knew enough about Irish weather to know to predict anything. Besides, when you lived in a town of power beings you could never be sure when someone's powers would cause a little mayhem.

Standing up Ram raised his arms above his head and stretched, before straightening out his clothes. With a pleased smile he set off down the wooden walkway, heading towards the Sailing Club rooms and a much needed shower.

Mack Nephthys

Early morning carpentry was probably not the best way to deal with a hangover, but oddly enough Mack found the rhythmic thud of his hammer strangely calming. Or perhaps he was still drunk from last night.

He had visited Northbay's singular drinking hole, the pub, the previous night. It had started as a causal beer, but three bottles of beer, four shots of vodka and who knows what else later his night had ended up much larger than anticipated. He had woken up this morning still in his clothes, his light still on and his alarm cloak blaring from under a pile of clothes.

Mack had agreed to help set up for the Lantern Festival that night. He wasn't even getting paid, but doing it as a favour to the town. Not that he minded doing it for free. Mack didn't have too many expensive habits and the rent on his tiny apartment over the supermarket was relatively cheap.

"Mack! Can you move the lanterns slightly to the left?" Ebony Aset, aunt of the three Aset girls and member of the Elders, shouted from the street. Mack, standing up on a ladder, nodded down at the woman and moved the lanterns as desired. Satisfied Ebony nodded and wondered off to oversee another part of the preparations. Left to his own devices Mack returned to hammering.

Almost finished he gave one final hammer on the nail, only his attention must have slipped because the next thing he knew a sharp pain erupted in his thumb. With a yelp he jerked his hand back, making him lose his balance in the process. His legs went out from under him, his arms pinwheeling in circles as he tried to grab at anything to keep him from falling.
Unfortunately the ladder seemed to elude him and Mack quickly found himself falling. A gust of wind blew up the street, particles of sand held in the breeze. The wind increased in strength and pressure, directing itself around the falling man. Faster than the eye could follow it had formed into a miniature wind funnel, Mack being safely buoyed in the centre. Slowly he was lowered to the ground. Only when his feet had touched concrete did a movement of his hand send the winds away, leaving a thin layer of sand behind.

'Mack, as much as I'm glad you're not hurt...' The stern voice came from Ebony Aset, her foot tapping quickly as she surveyed the tiny beach of sand that his powers had called forth. She had a broom in her hand, 'I want all this sand gone before tonight.' Thrusting it into his grasp Ebony turned and left. Dusting the light sprinkling of sand off his clothes before beginning to sweep up the street, Mack wished - and not for the first time - that his winds didn't magically summon sand when he called them.

Asta Falr

The view from the hills above the town was spectacular. Asta, pausing on her descent, couldn't help but grin at the landscape. The lake was sparkling in the early morning sun, light glistened off the town roofs and there was hardly a cloud in sight. She could have stayed on the thin track that ran up the hills beyond Northbay all day, but one glance at her watch told Asta that she'd need to open the shop soon. With a last glance across the lake Asta turned and made her way, half skipping, down the track.

Most likely it was the excitement of the coming festival that had seen Asta rise so early and head up into the hills. She often went for walks, but rarely so early in the morning. Coming back down she hit the main street at it's beginning. The entrance to Northbay was decorated with a simple sign which read 'Welcome to Northbay'. Asta passed the sign, entering the main street of the town. She passed people setting up stalls, others hanging decorations and more than one person shouting out loud instructions.

Asta waved happily at Mack as she passed him. Curiously he was sweeping up sand, although where the sand came from Asta couldn't be sure. Down the street she went, dodging in and out of the workers, until she reached the Bookstore.
"Key, key key... Oh, there you are!" She muttered to herself as she dug into her cardigan pockets. The Bookstore owner had given Asta the responsibility of opening the store today and she would have hated it if she'd lost the keys already.

She pushed the door open and stepped into the dark room. The light switch was unfortunately at the other end of the store and Asta didn't fancy wondering through the dark to find it. So, holding her hand out, she summoned a small sphere of light and used it to guide her through.

Ten minutes later, the store lit, open and ready for customers, Asta sat back at the counter with a sigh of relief. From here she had a good view of the festival preparations, but instead of watching the workers outside she picked up her book 'Catch-22' and began to read. The doorbell would jingle as soon as anyone entered, meaning until then she could happily lose herself in Joseph Heller.

Daphne Bacchus

Daphne groaned as she awoke to the morning light creeping into her bedroom. She was suffering from a raging headache and her mind was foggy from the hangover she was suffering from. Her head was hanging off the side of the bed with her feet dangling off the foot. She groaned. She was tangled in sheets, her clothes laying on the floor. "Somebody got lucky last night." Daphne laughed, standing up. She heard a hum come from the kitchen, probably the person she hooked up with last night cooking breakfast.

Daphne found a housecoat laid on the bed and she pulled it on. It seemed to fit pretty well and it was a woman's fit. "What a player." Daphne sighed. She dropped the blankets on the bed and exited the bedroom, entering a spacious living room with brick walls. It was kind of a grunge style apartment, Daphne liked the design.

"Good morning Sleepy!" A woman's voice called from the kitchen. Daphne turned the corner and saw the girl she hooked up with last night... Oh yeah stupid you forgot you were a bisexual. You smiled and walked up next to the girl. She had short black hair and tan skin and she was beaming this morning. "What time is it?" you asked, letting out a yawn. "8:45" the girl smiled. "Shit I need to be at the restaurant for 9:00!" Daphne exclaimed. "Okay go get dressed and I'll send you out with some food." "Sounds good." She said, placing a kiss on her cheek.

Daphne dashed back into the bedroom and quickly slipped on her outfit from the previous day. She headed back out after 5 minutes and quickly combed through her hair with her fingers. "Want an omelette to go?" the girl asked. "Yeah sure." Daphne smiled. She waited as the girl fixed her a paper plate and some ketchup to accompany her omelette. "Here you go." she said. "Thanks." Daphne smiled and headed to the car. She grabbed her phone and checked the time. it was nearly 9:00... Hell she was already late so why not send out some texts?

To: Fin Bacchus, Bobby Ceres, Amanda Cyprus, Stephanie Ceres

"Hey what's up? You going to the festival tonight? I'm looking to have some fun tonight, anybody willing to join?"

She shut her phone off and put the car into drive and headed to the restaurant.

Bobby was up early as usual, tucking in his shirt and tie early in the morning. The sun wasn't up yet, but he'd gone to bed at 8:30 the night before and was well rested as usual. Making sure his hair was greased back into place he, grabbed his messenger bag, slung it over his shoulder and ran out of his room.

Most days Bobby wouldn't have gone to work until after school, but today was different. Today was the lantern festival and school was closed. From across the second story hallway he could see bits of light poking out from a closed door. He smiled to himself, of course Brad was up and awake, probably reading that law book he liked so much.

Making some quick toast in the kitchen he went to go start up the car his parents had bought him for his birthday in February. But he soon found it was little use, because Stephanie, his little sister was already drunkenly passed out in the car, she’d probably had another row in the pub the night before from the looks of the nasty bruise on the side of her face. It hurt Bobby to see his little sis in such a sorry state, she was always using that fake id , in fact most nights she was Betsy Caldwell instead of Stephanie Ceres it seemed and Bobby liked Stephanie Ceres much better.

Try as he would he couldn’t get his hungover sister to budge, just mumbled a few scouse like swears at him. So he had to take his vintage bike instead. Not that he really minded, he liked biking much better in fact, and as he sped along into the town of Northbay he felt in good spirits. Today seemed like it might just be a great day. As he came to a stop at the bookstore he worked at, his phone went off:

"Hey what's up? You going to the festival tonight? I'm looking to have some fun tonight, anybody willing to join?"

From: Daphne Bacchus

He slowly, with his figures instead of thumbs, as he never did get the hang of typing, wrote out.

To: Daphne Bacchus

“Going to work, you ought to have seen Steph this morning. Any idea what happened? Anyways I’ll be attending I guess, Steph will murder me if I don’t.”

From: Bobby Ceres

Bobby continued to walk into the bookstore, where he found his co worker Asta already buried in a book. “Well someones up and early.”He said quietly, smiling as he walked past the counter to go to the back to restock the shelves. After a moment he replied, “I could go up and get us some coffee if you’d like, it’d only be a minute and I’d get a discount because of my sister.”

It sure did sound much stupider aloud than in his head and he regretted talking.

Image

Stephanie awoke to the sound of her brother soft voice. “Piss off Bobby” She mumbled with a moan as she turned away from the open car door. She was surprised she made it home in the car last night. Her head and face were throbbing, and a half an hour later when she had enough energy, strength and will to get up, she found a ugly little bruise covering the bottom left side of her face along her her messy dark brown hair messily falling in her face.

“Well hello beautiful.” She smirked to her own reflection, trying to remember how the bruise had gotten there. Puzzled she shrugged, stepped out of the car and shuffled into the house. After finding her way up the stairs to her room, she remembered she had to go to work. Shit work, I’ll bet I have a million miss calls.

Stephanie picked up her cell phone before undressing and was surprised she had only one text message.

"Hey what's up? You going to the festival tonight? I'm looking to have some fun tonight, anybody willing to join?"

From: Daphne Bacchus

She texted back before jumping in the shower.

“Dammit! I’m late for work and still hungover, I’ll be at the festival or whatever though, I’ll meet you there with Bobby and Brad even if I have to drag them both. Later.”

From: Stephanie Ceres

After Stephanie had showered, thrown on some old striped tee shirt and a brown sweater jacket, with some rolled up jeans and some brown saddle oxfords, she decided to text some other random people she had in her contacts from getting out in the new town.

To Laya:

Hey watcha up to? Are you going to the festival tonight, seems like everyone is.

From: Stephanie Ceres

To Julian:

Hey Julie, what up? Working today, cause maybe we could hang some more at the fest later on. If not that’s cool too.

From: Stephanie Ceres

To April:

How’s it going? Are you going to the festival today?

From: Stephanie Ceres

To Terrance:

Hey you going to the festival, maybe we could hang out of something.

From: Stephanie Ceres

Stephanie froze we she got to the next contact on her list, Antares Pallas, the one guy in town she actually fancied. Hands fumbling she wrote out a very shaky text to him, careful to mind her spelling before starting her car and driving to work.

To Antares:

Hello, um ah, would you mind going to the festival with me later today. We could meet up before or something, it doesn't have to be alone you know, I mean Brad and Bobby will be there too and um yeah, it’d be super cool if you could come. But I mean you don’t have to.

From: Stephanie Ceres

As Stephanie walked into the coffee shop she worked in her manager gave her an angry look which she ignored as she made her own espresso and tucked her phone away. As that weird Beatles obsessed old lady who live down the street from her back in Liverpool would say, it was going to be a hard days night.

(I know no Izzy yet but I will edit soon, I only have so much time, this is looking great so far guys!:))

Daphne drove fast... Well the speed limit but she got to work as fast as she could. She spotted Ava at the doors, wondering why the restaurant wasn't open. "Sorry had a late start to the morning." Daphne sighed, opening the front door. She made her way around back and quickly got into uniform. Her phone buzzed to life with 2 text messages. The first one was from Bobby.

“Going to work, you ought to have seen Steph this morning. Any idea what happened? Anyways I’ll be attending I guess, Steph will murder me if I don’t.”

From: Bobby Ceres

Daphne quickly replied with a message.

To: Bobby Ceres

"Oh I'm sure Stephanie is just being her normal self... Or maybe its puberty? And I'm happy to hear that.. Its been a while since we hung out and I figured why not tonight?"

Daphne laughed and clicked send. She then checked her next message.

Dammit! I’m late for work and still hungover, I’ll be at the festival or whatever though, I’ll meet you there with Bobby and Brad even if I have to drag them both. Later.”

From: Stephanie Ceres

To: Stephanie Ceres

"Sounds good. I'm ready for a night of fun. I'm working till 5 so maybe we can meet up at 7?"

She hit send and put her clothes and phone into her work locker. She quickly left the locker room and went out to the front and waited for customers.

Grey eyes opened moments before the alarm sounded, the loud beeping sound bouncing around the cluttered apartment. Chione usually prided herself in keeping a tidy apartment and making it at least appear spotless. But when she cracked open her text books in a bout of studying the usually pristine apartment was turned upside down. Open books covered every table, notebooks filled with neat, cursive writing next to each one along with stacks of sticky notes and pens, half with the ink run out. One would think with it being the middle of Summer, and a Saturday, Chione would be outside enjoying the sunshine and just taking advantage of her break. But that wasn't how the descendant of Anubis operated. The Summer holidays were, to her, the perfect time to get ahead on her studies so that she was already familiar with a large portion of the curriculum before classes started again.

Reaching out she silenced the alarm and sat up, stretching before running a hand through her messy hair. Swinging her legs out of bed she stood, resuming her stretching before walking over the window to look out over the street. People were already up and about, hanging up decorations for the lantern festival. She smiled slightly to herself, it was no secret that it had been arranged as an unofficial welcoming for the Greeks. The smile vanished as quickly as it came, she wasn't sure it was a good idea. In a town like this, there would always be a few people that would use their powers to make some sort of drama show out of it. Chione was almost convinced of this. The Serrure's were on the top of her list for people who would do something to mess it up.

With a shrug she headed into her small kitchen, placing two slices of bread into the toaster almost absentmindedly before making her way through the apartment, tidying up the books into piles according to topic. She reentered her kitchen to see the toast poking out and swiftly placed the pieces on a plate, spreading strawberry jam over them before walking into the living/dining area that connected onto the kitchen. Sitting down on the couch she began to eat, looking towards the phone with disinterest as it vibrated across the glass coffee table.

She was ready to ignore it for the time being, she seldom got texts and she was never in a rush to answer them, but she caught sight of her brother's name flashing across the screen before it went dark. She lent forth and picked up the phone, opening the desk with a couple deft touches on the screen.

From: Liam
Hey sis. Are you working tonight?
Or are you gunna leave me with no one to talk to?

She chuckled, of course, only Liam who got along with just about everyone in town would ask if his older sister would leave him without anyone to talk to. Her thumb raced across the screen as she typed her reply.

To: Liam
Yes, I am. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of people to talk to :)

Chione had never really understood the whole deal with emoticons, but she found it easier to use them than to have to explain to someone how she was feeling. Tone didn't go over well in text.

Finishing her breakfast she washed off the plate before going about the rest of her morning routine, humming slightly under her breath. Pulling on a pair of denim shorts and a baggy band singlet she collected a couple of text books and her messenger bag before heading outside. She walked briskly down towards the cafe where she ordered herself a white chocolate mocha and sat down, pulling out the thickest of the text books. She thanked the waiter as her drink was brought to her and went about taking notes, effectively blocking out the world around her.

Antares' eyes slowly opened as he rolled over. Huh.... must be early... the alarm hasn't gone off yet. He opened his eyes to asses how much time he had to sleep when his eyes popped open in shock. There sat the alarm clock, silent and mocking him as the luminous numbers declared it to be 8:30am. Antares jumped to his feet and ran into the bathroom where he had world record shower.

Great! Now his entire plan that had formulated before bed was out of whack. He was meant to have been at work half an hour ago, now not only did he have to apologize profusely about being late, he also had to start from scratch with his plan. He'd have to buy a new alarm clock and set one on his phone to make sure this didn't happen again. Maybe even a third alarm clock just t be safe.

He jumped out of the shower and slid, a yelp leaving him as he fell on his ass. Pain shot up his spine as he got to his feet, quickly getting dressed in the first articles of clothing he came across in his wardrobe. Pocketing his phone he quickly grabbed a muesli bar from the cupboard and raced out, he'd have to get coffee on the way to the library. He had never had a morning like this for as long as he remembered. He always checked and double checked his alarm clock the night before to make sure that it would go off, and according to plan, wake him up at 7am. He would have woken earlier if it hadn't been for an interesting late-night talk show he had stumbled across. Generally he would have ignored it and gone on with his schedule, but the topic was politics, he couldn't not watch.

His black cat, Lucky, mewed as she jumped from the couch, heading towards the food bowl and nudging it with her nose and looking up at Antares he raced to get the food into her bowl. He patted her briefly before saying, "Sorry Lucky, I've got to go, see you later." He raced out while the cat settled herself down to eat.

He raced out the door, the bar hanging between his teeth as he kicked the door shut. He was halfway down the stairs when his phone vibrated in his pocket. He fished it out as he raced down the street, dodging out of people's way as they set up for something.

From: Stephanie
Hello, um ah, would you mind going to the festival with me later today. We could meet up before or something, it doesn't have to be alone you know, I mean Brad and Bobby will be there too and um yeah, it’d be super cool if you could come. But I mean you don’t have to.

He ripped open the wrapper of the bar and gobbled it down before throwing away the wrapper and reading the text more carefully. He stopped outside the coffee shop, blinking like an idiot. That's right! The Festival! He hit his head and muttered under his breath, "Shit... I completely forgot about that..."

He texted her back as he entered the coffee shop and ordered himself a Chai Latte. He wasn't sure if she was working, so texting would probably be safest, just in case.

To: Stephanie
Yeah, sure, sounds like fun. When would you like to meet and where?

He took his drink and thanked the person behind the counter without really paying attention before racing towards the library. He slowed to a brisk walk as he entered the library, taking a nervous sip from the drink he looked around, trying to spot his coworker Gwyn. It didn't take long for him to notice the upturned bookcase and his coworker trapped beneath it. He placed his coffee on a nearby table and rushed over, taking hold of the bookcase and heaving, "Shit! You OK under there Gwyn?"

A shrill sound filled Tut's apartment. The young man groaned, a headache pounding behind his eyes from the night before. He wasn't quite sure what he'd drank, but whatever it had been, it had been allot. His opened lazily to stare at the alarm clock. 7:30am.. too goddamn early in his books.

A fist lashed out and flatted the device, effectively silencing it. The cheap hunk of plastic that Tut had bought in an attempt to begin a routine was now in a million pieces, small arcs of electricity racing over the gap in the wires. Though now it was too late to go back to sleep. Rolling onto his back Tut slowly sat up and stretched, a jaw-cracking yawn forcing its way up his throat before he stood up, almost falling over as the headache spiked.

He turned around and sighed in relief when he found the bed empty save a couple of discarded shoes which were definitely his. He worked his way through his untidy apartment, eying a pile of dirty laundry beside his couch. Somewhere under there was an empty packet of sushi and his favourite pair of chop sticks. He shrugged as he entered the kitchen, he'll clean it up later. He ate some cereal before going about the rest of his routine at snail pace. By the time he'd gotten out of the shower and was brushing his teeth it had to be at least 8:15.

He walked out moments later, still yawning when the view from his living room window caught his attention. It was a beautiful day outside, from what he could see the wind was calm. The perfect day for a flight. A grin spread over his features as he opened the window and jumped out, phasing instantly and snapping his wings out to catch the air and drift skyward. A shriek left the falcon as it tilted to the side, heading out towards the lake. The water sparkled in the sun and small waves lapped at the shore.

He felt free, the wind rushing past his feathers and the headache was the furthest thing from his mind as he dived, pulling up just in time so that his talons skimmed over the water. He looked back towards the town, a mischievous glint entering the eyes of the bird as Tut realized something. Today was that stupid festival to welcome the Greeks to the town.

He remembered it vaguely from when he was still very young, the lanterns hadn't really captured his attention even back then, what were the odds that they would now? He rose into the air, contemplating this before coming to a conclusion, he would have some fun tonight. People were taking this thing way too seriously after all, he'd have to liven it up a bit. Knock a couple lanterns out of the sky, swoop a couple of people and steal their candy or whatever was in their hands. Harmless. As long as the uptight buzz-kills of the town didn't get in his way, though he was almost certain that every last one of them would be looking out for anyone causing trouble.

All that meant was that he had to be sneaky, plus, there wasn't anything like the element of being caught to make it more exciting. As he headed back towards his apartment he wondered if Bryce would be up for a bit of fun tonight. He landed in his apartment, swiftly changing back into his human form before flopping down the couch, thank Horus he didn't have to work today.

To: Bryce
Yo Bryce! Whatcha up to today for this festival thing? Up for some fun?

He grinned as he jumped off the couch and walked out the door, well there was no point in spending the entire day indoors.

"Oh just wondering." Daphne replied. She took her hand out of her pocket and glanced at her watch. She should be having a break now. She glanced at Ava. She wouldn't be finished for another 10 minutes so why not get some break time in. Daphne went back to the kitchen and put her tray back and headed for the locker room. She grabbed her phone and saw 1 new message from Amanda.

I was sleeping, you know, not everyone gets up this early. c: I'm totally going, wouldn't miss it for anything.
From: Amanda Cyprus

She smiled and texted back.

"Oh yeah stupid me... Anyways I'm looking forward to tonight! See you later."

She hit enter and slid her phone into her pocket. There was a knock on the door and she went to go open it. It was her boss. She figured it was probably because of her being late to work... "Hey Daphne, since the festival is going on I figured I'd let you off for the day. I have some other waitresses who have nothing going on tonight and they have agreed to take over your shift." he said. She blinked. "Are you serious?" She asked. He nodded. "Well... Thank you." She smiled, hugging him. "Yeah yeah whatever go have fun." He sighed and left. She grabbed her phone and sent out a text.

To: Amanda Cyprus, Stephanie Ceres, Bobby Ceres, Fin Bacchus
Turns out my boss doesn't want me to work today so I have the day off... Anybody wanna hang out?

She pressed send and took off her uniform. She'd probably take a stop at home to change into some fresh clothes. She would've this morning but she woke up too late. She headed out the back and walked through the alley to her car. She got in and it took her about 10 minutes to get home. She headed straight for her bedroom once there and changed into another outfit. "There we go." She sighed. It was still early morning and she was bored out of her mind. She flipped on the tv and waited for someone to reply to her text.

Julian looked up lazily from his magazine and looked yet again at the front of the store. No one was there, and he doubted anyone would probably wander in. It was an off day for business usually and then the added extravagance of a festival didn’t exactly help. They’d blocked off all sorts of streets and it’d take some sort of genius to wind his way through, Julian had barely made it and only been fifteen minutes opening the place.

He’d offered to open and man the store for the short time it would be open that day, considering he wasn’t as excited or as civic minded as the rest of the citizens of Northbay he figured why not let the people who actually enjoyed participating enjoy it while they could. Of course he enjoyed his solitude, the opportunity to play any sort of music he liked and the chance to pound away at the amazing kit his boss kept in the place. As a matter of fact he’d planned it this way and was quite pleased with himself.
Taking a moment to check his phone which had vibrated across the counter in a sort of strange
shambling dance he took a quick look at the text he’d received from Stephanie Ceres.

Of course he’d be at the festival, he was almost positive that he and Calypso would grace the long unseen lantern festival with their presence and who knew what the twins would have in store the town, if they were lucky that is. Julian has almost decided to skip the whole affair and get insanely drunk instead but why couldn't he do both?

At work right now, slow as hell. I’ll catch up with you later at the festival. Promises.

He deftly texted back before tossing his battered phone back onto the counter and returning to his magazine. Propping his feet onto the counter in front of him he leaned back and waited to flip the sign from open to close.

Izzy awoke late in the day, typical of her when she didn't have classes. She instantly went to her phone and was almost disappointed when she saw there were no new messages, at least not from anyone important. Frowning, she made up her mind to do her very best to change that, by sending a few messages out to the people she felt she knew best, most of which who she felt either could easily be controlled, or were attractive, or she considered a friend, and that left a wide range of people.

To: Odessa, Fin, Amanda, Lucas, Bryce, Viona, Ronan, Julian, Calypso:

Hey all, your queen has awoken! So where’s everyone up to? I’m looking forward to seeing all you peeps at the festival tonight, and festivals aren’t even like my thing like at all! So you guys better be there because if I’m there alone with the village elders, heads shall roll! Lol! Will be in town fyi so feel free to meet up with me.

From: Izzy Dias

Izzy put her phone down, sat up, walked out of bed down to the small bathroom in her tiny flat and took a long bath, before dressing and heading out for town. It was nice not having to work to pay for school because you had a rich stepfather to pay for it all, Izzy had to admit, problem was, that meant a lot of people were tried down for work. Driving into town she quickly parked her car and watched as several people put together decorations, smirking almost, she couldn’t understand why anyone but criminals would work for free for something having to do with the community, but she supposed that was why she was a leader, after all, not everyone’s grandfathers Zeus, and the ruling blood certainly ran deep in Izzy.

Izzy, getting out of her car decided to look for a place to loiter around, a hobby she quite enjoyed. She wasn’t really watching where she was going however and bumped into Mack, who was sweeping sand?

“Um excuse me, but do you mind!” She snorted angrily, when he completely ignored her. Then an idea came to her. “ Hey Mack, check this out!” When she had gotten his attention she looked to the sky and caused a small stray bolt of lighting light up the sky. It was the kind that was gone in an instant and made you wonder if there was a storm or not, the ones that Liverpool had been getting frequently for the last 21 or so years. Besides, it was always fun to scare the crap out of people, and Izzy remembered somebody told her once that Mack was afraid of lighting.

Laughing to herself, Izzy walked down to the record shop and gave Julian a wink before turning to the music, trying to find some old records that would make for a great sound mix. She would flirt a little, talk a little, possibly buy something, and be on her way.

Bobby grinned to himself as he heard Asta call out, “Morning Bobby!” Followed by “I don’t drink coffee, but I’d be keen for a hot chocolate.” He watched, coming back to the front of the store, pleased that this didn’t go as badly as he thought it might. Asta helped you out almost, and he had to admit, she was a very easy person to talk to. She pulled out a bunch of euro’s and some coins (that’s the Irish currency if I’m correct) and offered them to him. “Maybe get some lemon cakes too? My shout.”

Bobby refused the money and replied. “Sure thing, I’ll buy, one hot chocolate, a tea for myself and a bunch of lemon cakes coming right up, I’ll be back.” He walked out the door before Asta could protest and ran not really thinking about anything but getting Asta’s ordered right. He ran between Daphne, Amanda and Fin, tripping himself, and said a quick “I’m terribly sorry!” and continued on his way rushing by a girl who he thought was named Layla with the same hasteful sorry before reaching the coffee shop.

When he had at last reached his destination, he found himself waiting for his sister to stop texting before she noticed him. She raised a brow.

“Um Bobby, what up? Why are you so sweaty? Where you running from those normal thugs again!? Cause I’ll cripple them I will! And you know I don’t like it when you just come to visit me.”

“Right, just, everythings fine Steph, just ah, um I was wondering if I could have a medium hot chocolate, a ice tea and two lemon cakes.” Bobby said as Stephanie’s eyes lit up before she got to work.

“Oh Bobby, who is it, who are you buying breakfast for, that’s real unlike you, well then again I guess it isn’t, your just usually too shy to-”

“It’s just Asta, nothing romantic, just, you know, just something employees do for each other once in awhile.” Bobby interrupted.

“Well ‘ere ya go Bobby, enjoy your little lunch with you employee.” Stephanie laughed a little and handed her older brother his order and watched as he ran back out shaking her head. On his way back, breathless, he stopped to catch his breath and felt his phone go off, so he one handly picked it up and read the new message.

To: Amanda Cyprus, Stephanie Ceres, Bobby Ceres, Fin Bacchus

Turns out my boss doesn't want me to work today so I have the day off... Anybody wanna hang out?

He quickly typed back a response.

To Daphne:

I would, but I’m stuck at work. Maybe later, see you at the festival. Oh and I think I’ll ask Asta if she wants to come too if that’s alright.

From: Bobby

He quickly walked inside and put down the bag he’d been carrying. “ And there you go Asta, a hot chocolate, two lemon cakes, and a ice tea.” He sat down on a box of books he probably shouldn't have sat on, and took a big gulp before finding himself stuttering.

“ So um eh w-would you um m-mind going to the f-festival later tonight w-with some of my friends and siblings. I mean you don’t have to, I just thought m-maybe it’d settle some things and we could all get to know each other.”

He winced waiting for her answer.

Image

Stephanie sighed as her phone buzzed and flipped it out to see what was up.

To: Stephanie

Yeah, sure, sounds like fun, when would you like to meet and where?

Stephanie felt her heart thump at the message. There it was, plain as day, a messages from Antares, asking her when and where she wanted to meet up. Why the hell was she so nervous and more importantly, not already texting him back.

To: Antares

Cool, glad you can come, I was thinking we could maybe meet at the docks at around oneish, I should be done with work by then. I still have to wait for Brad and Bobby so it’ll probably be just the two of us, but it’s not like it’s a date or anything so yah. See you at the docks:)

From: Stephanie

Stephanie pressed send and looked up to see Bobby, looking rather crazy. She smiled served him and returned to her phone, an unusual thing for her to do while at work, but today to her it seemed at least, it was like a holiday.

To: Amanda Cyprus, Stephanie Ceres, Bobby Ceres, Fin Bacchus

Turns out my boss doesn't want me to work today so I have the day off... Anybody wanna hang out?

Lucky, she muttered to herself before repiling.

To Daphne:

Sorry, but I’m stuck here till one, we can hang later though.

From: Stephanie.

Stephanie put down her phone only to pick it up again and read yet another message.

At work right now, slow as hell. I’ll catch up with you later at the festival. Promises.

She quickly typed back:

K see you later at the fest, don’t be too sad, you're surrounded by music, I’m surrounded by coffee and baked goods, not quite as entertaining ;)

Then she really did go back to work, shoving her phone in her pocket as a customer came in.

Walking over to collect his drink he took a sip, waiting for Gwyn's response. Whatever her answer was, apparently what he'd said had given her something to think about. Antares finished his drink, placing the cup in the nearest waste bucket and turned his attention to the book shelf. Today seemed to be filled with nothing but unexpected events.

He didn't like that thought one bit.

He scanned the books, silently judging whether it was to be the next volume placed at the top of the shelves. He was slowly rescheduling his day when his phone vibrated twice in his pocket. He blinked, My, aren't I popular today?

Rearranging the few volumes he had in his hand he fished it out to view the texts.

From: Stephanie
Cool, glad you can come, I was thinking we could maybe meet at the docks at around oneish, I should be done with work by then. I still have to wait for Brad and Bobby so it’ll probably be just the two of us, but it’s not like it’s a date or anything so yah. See you at the docks:)

Antares cocked his head at the latter half of the text, why would she find the need to clarify that it wasn't a date? He shrugged, she was probably just making sure there wasn't a misunderstanding. That's all. His thumbs flashed across the keyboard as he typed his reply.

To: Stephanie
Alright, no problem. I'll meet you there :)

With that out of the way he turned his attention to the second text. Ariel didn't text him often, but as he opened the message he instantly recognized her form of communicating. He wondered idly as he read it if all her texts ended the same way, no matter who they were intended for.

From: Ariel
Hey Antares, do you mind if I hang out with you at the festival, I don't want to be by myself. If you're not going or if I'd be a bother then, like, I understand.... yeah so... bye love you.

He bit his lip, he'd already told Stephanie he'd be hanging out with her and her brothers tonight... but the more the merrier right? As far as he knew, the two got along well enough, and this was the perfect chance to get to know everyone better. He decided to shoot a quick text to Stephanie before replying to Ariel.

To: Stephanie
Hey, I just got a text from Ariel, she doesn't want to be on her own tonight. Hope you don't mind that I said it was OK if she hung out with us.

To: Ariel
Yeah, that's fine. I'm hanging out with Stephanie and her brothers so you could come join us. Meet at the dock around one?

As he put his phone back into his pocket he had the oddest feeling he'd just placed himself in the middle of something. He shrugged the feeling away as he returned his attention to the books. Everything would be fine. Right?

The main street of Northbay, still illuminated by the soon to be setting sun, has come alive. Music (a local folk band currently playing on the stage) drifts down the street.

Residents arrive to take a look at what the festival has to offer: food, games, competitions, raffles and trinkets for sale.

Of course, given that the town's residents are the descendent of gods you can bet that there will be other stalls selling magical items and game booths encouraging use of powers.

Mack Nephthys

- Midday -

Mack was shaking his head as a pair of helpers moved a beam of wood into place,
"Watch where you're..." He started to warn the pair before, crash! the beam hit another pile of poles and sent them rolling across the road. Luckily most of the street was blocked off from pedestrians so there was little need for Mack to run screaming after them. Instead he simply pointed after them to the pair that had caused the crash.

A moment later a voice made him turn and he found Dehlilah Cyprus standing behind him.
"Um, hey I didn't want to interrupt but um can you ask the girl, my friend ran into if she's ok?" She sounded nervous, or perhaps she was just breathless from running across the street.
"Jade. Her name is Jade." Mack said. He felt uncharacteristically defensive of Jade. He was a friendly guy, he didn't take too many things to heart and was easily able to brush off most insults. But the crash this morning had almost cost Jade her babies and in his eyes Dehlilah had been more concerned with getting Antonio into the restaurant than caring for the hurt girl. Still, the fact that she was here asking after Jade meant that Mack's voice wasn't cold, it was simply lacking its usual warmth.

"I would have helped, but I didn't know if you'd want us... To put our noses in your business," Mack wondering who 'our' was meant to be, Dehlilah and Antonio? Mack shook his head slightly. He was about to argue that it had only been 'his' business because he had been concerned, but decided to hold his tongue. He liked Dehlilah well enough, from the little he had seen of her around town. Besides a moment later she looked over her shoulder. She said goodbye, placed a hand on his arm and added "Thanks, seriously," before leaving.

After she left Mack turned back to the set-up, shaking his head as he saw that in the few minutes his attention had been elsewhere all chaos had erupted...

- 5:00 pm -

Mack sat back, enjoying the cool beer in his hand as he watched the cordons open and the first residents enter the festival. Mack was at one of the stalls set up outside the bar, fairy lights twinkled above his head and the setting sun was caught and held by the string of mirror-like, plastic crystals that were twined around a nearby lamp post. Soon enough the whole street would be lit by the fairy lights and street lamp, creating a magical setting for the night's festivities.

Mack's hangover of the morning was well and truly gone. In fact, if he found the right people he wouldn't be against making an event out of tonight. He finished his beer and signaled for the bar keep who passed him another. He popped it open, appreciating the tsk of goodness being released.
"To a good night." He said to the bar keep, tilting his bottle in a salute. He returned his gaze to the street, took a sip and leaned back, waiting for the night to begin.

Chione placed her hair into a tight bun as she finished putting on her work uniform. She looked at herself in the mirror for a long moment before she left her apartment, walking towards the restaurant. People were already placing the finishing touches on the festival decorations, a band setting up on a stage. Chione smiled to herself, remembering the Jazz band Gwyn was looking forward to seeing. She entered the restaurant, smiling at Mabel as she floated across the room. She looked around around and quickly spotted her brother, ordering another ghost to help clear a table.

Chione chuckled and waved at her brother before heading into the back of the restaurant where she hung up the jacket she'd been wearing before quickly clocking in.

She made her way out into the main area of the restaurant where she began to work.

-5pm-

She looked outside the window to see the street flood with people going about the festivities. She smiled to herself and wiped her hand on the pencil skirt before walking clearing a nearby table. Chione stood beside her brother, "When does your shift end Liam? Got any plans for the festival?"

Image

-1pm-

Antares rubbed the back of his neck as he stood by the docks, looking down at his watch. His gaze flicked up as he searched the docks, was he early? Had everyone suddenly decided to ditch him? Should he just head to the festival and make a new plan? His stomach churned at the thought, not only did that mean two changes of plan in one day, but that no one wanted to spend time with him. He sighed and walked to the edge of the dock, sitting on the wood and letting his feet dangle off the end. He watched the water ripple below him and swung his legs.

Stephanie had said around one, he had also told Ariel to meet up about the same time. Now here he was, and no one else was. He understood that no one found it as necessary as he did to make sure they were always on time. But he was starting to get edgy. Where were they all?

He looked down at his watch once more, 1:02pm. He swallowed and wrung his hands, muttering under his breath. Where were they all? Had they forgotten about him? Biting his bottom lip he looked towards the town, trying to stop himself from overreacting, which he knew was more than likely if no one rocked up soon.

Image

-5pm-

Shoving his hands into his pockets Tut walked into the festival, a smile on his face. He wouldn't cause any trouble yet, the night was still too young for that. With a smile on his face the descendant of Horus walked through the stalls, clicking his fingers in time with the folk song that floated through the air. He stopped to look at the occasional stall, fingering the wallet in his pocket with a thoughtful look on his face.

A grin spread over his features as he remembered something: Ramses was to be at the dunking booth later on. That would be fun to try. He stopped by a stall selling small fantasy figurines, the more expensive ones moving about on the cloth, staring up at the customers as they passed. He cocked his head, weighing whether or not he needed, or wanted, the small dragon figurine that crawled over the table, spined head shaking before a spark of fire erupted from its jaw.

With a small grin bought the little dragon, watching as it flew up to his shoulder, nestling itself beside his neck, looking out into the crowd. Tut continued to walk, trying to spot anyone that would be up for some fun.

[img]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m36kyeNR9G1qb9n2vo1_500.gif[img][/img]While he was against his lips he could feel himself softly moan from the pleasure. Shortly he felt the other end drift away causing him to open his eyes as he gently panted. “Are you sure you’ve never kissed anyone before because that was... perfect” Good. He meant to speak but at the moment he was still in a haze, but who couldn't be after kissing someone as amazing as Ram? He had been waiting for a while, but always doubted his feelings would be rejected. I should have said something soon! “Although, there are a few more things you could do to improve...” With hands around Leslie's neck he was pulled back down towards Ramses with a smirk, he was always into learning. “Let me show you...”

For a moment the world had paused just around the two of them until the bells for midday started playing throughout town Stupid bells. Looking down at Ram he couldn't help but smile at the face he was receiving figuring he didn't want their fun to end either. “Dad expects me at the festival soon.” "It's fine, I know you promised your dad you would." “I told him I'd help set up the stall too.” The explanation wasn't need from him already knowing this, but he didn't stop him from talking because he loved to hear his voice.

With Ramses propped on his arms he slowly began to make his way out from under Leslie. He liked the way he would touch him as he moved outward and with every touch he wanted to grab him and pull him back under. To him the best part of all was knowing his feelings were returned and that they would be living together, meaning these kind of things could continue happening over and over and over again.

Sitting back up on his knees his eyes loomed on Ram getting his clothes and then returning back to him. Unexpectedly his hand was taken and he was risen from the ground to meet Ram. Getting a playful smile from him he knew something was up, "Come on, the sailing club is empty. Why don't we hit the showers and I help you get the rest of that lake debris off?" Maybe I was right about those showers after all. With a smirk back he decided he would come back to get his clothes later, they were unimportant at the moment. "I do love to be clean." With a devilish smile he allowed himself to be pulled to the sailing club excited for what was to follow.

Midday

When he had returned to his house he was extremely exhausted from his long morning with Ramses, but he wouldn't dare complain about the fun he had. He was in his room getting ready trying to pick out the perfect outfit. He knew it couldn't be anything fancy because he was going to a festival, but he didn't want to down grade his looks either. I should have picked out an outfit this morning. Think to himself he tapped puckered lips as his eyes glanced every inch of his closet. I guess you'll do. Pulling out a grey sweater from one end, blue jeans from the other, and black converses and from his shoe rack he began to dress his already stripped body.

Once his outfit was on he went over and looked at himself in the mirror to make sure he looked fine. I look pretty dapper. Thinking he looked fine he put on his sunglasses then pulled out his phone.

To: Ramses

I'm on my way to the festival, be looking for me. Love you.

From: Leslie

Taking his time he stared at the screen unsure if he should send it. Is this to much? He could have stood there and questioned himself all day, but he forced himself to send it. After today he wasn't sure where they stood anymore. He knew they were best friends, but were they dating now or what? Leslie didn't want to ask he'd just wait and see, but he just hoped they were more now.

***

It didn't take long for him to arrive to the festival and boy did it look fun. He had been waiting ten years for another one of these, and it kind of made him feel old. He had been fourteen the last time around, but that didn't mean he couldn't have as much fun now as he did then. He knew this year he'd spend it with Ramses, making it the best year yet.

While there he began looking around for the dunking booth and Ramses knowing he's be near it since he was working it. The search wasn't to long before finding it. "Hey!" Saying so as he walked over to the booth with his hands in his pockets. "Having fun?"

ImageBlop!

At the odd noise Ariel's eyes barely opened to look at her surroundings. She had been sleeping in her hammock with a light swinging motion that had rocked her to sleep. Sitting up she yawned and stretched her arms out to pop them and her back. What a nice little nap! Looking over at her night stand she noticed she had two unread text, picking her phone up she read the first one:

From: Antares

Yeah, that's fine. I'm hanging out with Stephanie and her brothers so you could come join us. Meet at the dock around one?

Reading over it she looked at the time. It's almost one! Getting out of bed she began to text back as she rushed to her bathroom.

To: Antares

Ok, great! Sorry for not replying sooner I was busy. See us there. Bye bye love ya.

From: Ariel

Once in the bathroom she looked over herself, her clothes weren't wrinkled, her makeup was fine, but she could always fix the once flattering curls that now looked like a mess. Plugging in the curler iron she looked at the other text from Bella that she quickly dismissed.

When the light from the curler shined green for hot She picked it up and began wrapping medium sections around the medium sized barrel. Curl faster! Looking back down at her phone for the time it was 1:05, That's not to late, unless you're trying to impress someone! With the sections she was doing she finished her her soon and broke the pieces apart with her fingers to create small sections of curls.

Rushing out of the bathroom she made sure to get her phone and wallet and dart out if her room, down the stairs, then to the street rushing passed a few people.

When the pier was in view she slowed down some going from a run to a face paced walk. "Sorry I'm," she looked down at her phone for time, "ten minutes late!" Going over to him quickly she gave him a hug then released looking at him with a smile.

Antares sat at the docks, fiddling with his thumbs as he looked out over the water. He constantly glanced down at his watch, watching as the seconds slowly ticked past. 1:08pm passed and still neither Ariel or Stephanie had showed up. He started to get edgy, his mind racing to make a myriad of new plans depending on when the two girls showed up. He pulled out his phone in case one of them had texted him about being late, his heart sunk. He should have checked it earlier. There, as clear as day, was a text from Ariel that had arrived shortly before one o'clock.

From: Ariel
Ok, great! Sorry for not replying sooner I was busy. See us there. Bye bye love ya.

He sighed with relief as he read the text. His shoulders slumped and a smile worked its way onto his face. He hadn't been forgotten. He got to his feet, she should be here any minute according to the text. His gaze was fixed towards the town, a smile coming over his face as he spotted Ariel, power walking towards him.

"Sorry I'm, ten minutes late!"

She gave him a quick hug, which he returned before taking a small step back. He chuckled, the nervous tension that had been coiling in his stomach for the past ten minutes suddenly being released, as if a tight cord had been snapped. He rubbed the back of his neck before chuckling, "That's fine Ariel!"

He was just glad someone was here. He looked down at his watch once more before saying, "Shouldn'tbe long before Steph shows up."

Tut continued to walk through the milling crowd. He hadn't been to a festival like this since he was about 13, in a way it was nice to be out here enjoying the night. He smiled to himself, a hand reaching up to stroke the head of the small dragon on his shoulder, yelping as the scaled beast decided to nip at his finger, pain flaring along the length of it. He shook his hand and glared down at his little novelty, wiping the finger on his shirt before continuing his stroll.

He stopped in the middle of the street, people walking around him without so much as a second glance. He looked up to the see the ferris wheel towering above the crowd. Laughter came from all around and idle chatter of those stopping by the numerous stalls as they looked about the merchandise.

Tut hummed along with the music that floated through the air as he made a bee-line through the crowd, stopping only as he neared the ferris wheel, a familiar voice calling out his name.

"Tut!"

He turned, searching the crowd for the source of the voice. He smiled as he spotted Alaura waving at him from the line waiting to get onto the ferris wheel. Terrance stood beside her.

"Hey, want to ride with us?" She pointed up at the ferris wheel, a smile on her face.

He looked up at the ride, before shrugging. Why not? He had nothing else to do, and Alaura and Terrance were cool. He waved at them and walked through the crowd to stand beside them in the line.

"Hey guys! Sure, I'll tag along." He grinned, "How's your guys' day been so far?"

Chione chuckled as her brother spoke, it was true, next to none was working at the restaurant that night, in fact, even the cook had been looking up at the clock every few minutes as it inched closer to the end of his shift.

"I actually think our dear manager wants to run me to the ground since, before you got here, I was the only one actually trying to work. Plus, I think helps that I don't have any plans."

The sudden burst of mirth ended as inexplicably as it began, she turned to Liam blinking. Liam Anapa, he little brother Liam, the social butterfly of Northbay, didn't have any plans for the lantern festival? She frowned, crossing her arms, "What do you mean you have no plans? Didn't you organize to meet up with any of your friends?" The frown deepened before vanishing at the next words form her brother's mouth.

"I'm going to assume you have some sort of meeting within the next few hours?"

She nodded, a smile spreading across her features, "As a matter-of-fact, I do. I promised Jade to help out at the kissing booth after work and then I'm going to meet up with Gwyn and Ram." She shrugged, Ronan had never replied to her text, so he must have been too busy. She grinned, She couldn't help but get excited. It had been so long since the last festival, she had been 15 and at the time had spent most of it on her own, wandering the streets with nothing better to do.

But this time around she had friends she could go with, it would probably be allot more fun this time around.

Image"That's fine Ariel!" Even though he told her that she still couldn't help but feel bad for being late. Normally she was always on time, but everyone slips up every once and awhile. When he chuckled she couldn't help herself from laughing. Ariel was the type of person that if she heard someone laugh she had to laugh too no matter the situation, which she didn't mind. She loved the way it felt to laugh, the happiness it gave her inside for some reason.

Glancing over him it was still hard for her to believe they'd only known each other for a month. They weren't the closet, but she wished they were better friends. He was smart and funny and they did seen to get along pretty well. He was the first Greek she had met, it was exciting for her too. From the way others talked before actually meeting any of them she expected something horrible, they weren't though and she knew this the second she had started talking to Antares with a kind smile and friendly conversation. He obviously threw her expectations out the window in the best way possible.

"Shouldn'tbe long before Steph shows up." "I can't wait for her to get here too! We're all going to have so much fun!" Joy radiated from her as she bobbed up and down slightly, happy that she could spend time with the two of them.

Ariel didn't know either to well, but she knew more about him than Stephanie. Working with her she would have thought the girl would talk to her more, Ariel tried so hard to start conversations between them, but she seemed to just stick to her work. Even thought Ariel didn't know her much she was fond of her, how hard she worked and what seemed to be determination.

"The last time I went to a festival I was six." Saying so to him she gave a giggle. "That was so long ago! Gosh! It doesn't feel like that long though!" Ariel was many things, but mature was not one of them. It wasn't like she did anything bad or inappropriate on purpose, but she still had her kid tendencies without notice. She didn't always act young and when people spoke to her she could respond like every normal teen girl, but sometimes there was just something quirky with the way she acted. She was a very naïve girl, and she pretty much still acted like she was six at times. "I think my favorite part is the games that involve powers! I mean there will probably be no games that would allow me to use my abilities, but it's fun to watch others!" Controlling three parts of someone's emotions was probably one of the lesser abilities out of the people in town, but she wouldn't change then for the world. The thought of being able to give or take away love, lust, and passion was amusing even though she never got the chance to use them much on purpose. The main times they were used were by accident when she's overexcited and touches them either giving a taking away one of their three emotions. At this time it'd be safer for her not to touch anyone, she was full of thrill, but with her being Ariel she's probably forget and touch someone gambling at doing something she'd regret.

"I sure am. I hope you guys are looking forward to the festival. The last time Northbay threw the lantern festival I was seven. It was so much fun." Daphne nodded. "Tonight is looking to be a lot of fun!" She says. Her phone then receives a text so she looks to see who its from.

To: Ariel, Asta, Julian, Leslie, Ronan, Bryce, Chione, Ramses, Fin, Daphne, Izzy, Stephanie.
Message: [GROUP MESSAGE] Hey everyone! I know this is super last minute, but I was supposed to work the kissing booth and get it organized, but... something came up. I have the following time slots that need to be filled, and I would love you forever if you could take a shift? 6:00-6:30, 7:00-7:30, 8:00-8:30, 9:00-9:30, and 10:00-10:30. The thirty minutes between each time the booth will hold raffles- the money goes to the school playground! Martha ((NPC)) will be taking care of the raffles, so after your thirty minutes is up you're free (: Let me know, guys! Again, thanks so much!

To: Jade

Yeah sure I'd love to help out. I can work the 9:00-9:30 shift if its open, if not then the 10:00-10:30 shift.

She turned back to Asta and Bobby. "I have some errands to do before I go out tonight so I'll see you both later." Daphne said and headed out.

(time skipping to 5:00pm because I'm behind)

~5:00pm~

Daphne walked along the boardwalk down by the bay. The sun was setting and the festival was about to get started. She didn't see too many of her friends around. She figured they'd probably send her a text so she just walked around, looking at her feet, focusing on the space between each step. She looked out at the water, a pretty blue with the sun shining on it. She felt the urge for a dip but she had no time for that. Daphne sighed and sat down on the edge of the dock, her feet dangling over the side. She slid out her phone.

To: Bobby, Stephanie, Asta, Fin, Amanda

Whats everyone up to? I'm down by the bay and haven't seen anybody and I'm bored out of my mind.

Antares smiled as Ariel spoke "I can't wait for her to get here too! We're all going to have so much fun!" He grinned, Ariel was such a bubbly person. It was something refreshing, "The last time I went to a festival I was six. That was so long ago! Gosh! It doesn't feel like that long though!"

Ariel had been the first person in the entire town of Northbay who truly welcomed him. With a bright smile and even brighter words. He was baffled at first, wondering why she was talking to him when there were obviously people in the town that she knew for longer. He had been so happy to see someone that welcomed him to the town that they had basically become instant friends.

They hadn't spent allot of time together, yet he felt confident in saying that the two were good friends. He smirked as Ariel continued to talk, the slight childishness that was part of Ariel's charm seeping through. "I think my favorite part is the games that involve powers! I mean there will probably be no games that would allow me to use my abilities, but it's fun to watch others!"

Antares grinned, "Yeah? Doubt I'd be able to do any of those games anyway... We could watch them together. Might be fun!"

He looked down at his watch and frowned, Steph really was starting to be late. And Steph knew about his slight OCD. Although, slight might have been an understatement. He tapped his watch and looked around expectantly, "If Steph doesn't show up soon should we just head down towards the festival?"

Chione chuckled as Liam spoke, bringing up the last time the lantern festival had been held. "Does that mean you're not going to go all loner this year?"

She shook her head, "No. This year I've got friends to go with." She couldn't help the grin that spread across her face. She had friends to go out to the festival with. She wouldn't be standing by her own, having to wait for another loner just to be able to get on the Ferris Wheel! Because apparently a murder victim from the middle ages didn't count as a partner. She couldn't believe how much things had changed since that last time.

Sure, majority of the people in the town still thought of her as either weird of closed off, but she had friends now. Not many. But she did have some. He was avoiding the question she had posed earlier and she was about to bring it up again when he answered, much to her approval.

"And by not having plans. I mean I don't have plans. I was hanging out with Alaura and Quincy but her sister had to go to the hospital for reasons I still don't know. And since I figured she wouldn't want to be too crowded I decided to leave her be since I knew Quincy wouldn't leave. I guess by the time I was done with that little ordeal it was time for me to get ready for work."

She sighed, of course Alaura would have run at the first sign that her little sister had been harmed. "Jade was in a bicycle crash earlier with one of the Greeks. It didn't look that bad, but apparently it was worse than I thought if she had to go to the hospital." She frowned, she swore it hadn't been that bad, was there something else going on? "But from what I saw it wasn't that bad... I wonder what happened..."

Tut stopped beside the two in the line, noting almost absentmindedly how Terrance took a step closer towards Alaura, as if defending her from something. He didn't let his smile dim, even as Terrance's next words effectively eradicated Alaura's earlier invite. "Fine. And I don't mean to be that guy, but these things are really only meant for two..."

Tut took an almost instant step back, the smile becoming slightly forced as he took in Terrance's smile of apology. If Tut was right, that look of apology was just as faked as his own 100-watt smile. Alaura seemed just as taken aback as Tut was, though she made it obvious with a look of shock. She turned to look at him, "Let's hang out after, Tut!" Though Terrance didn't let it bother him much more as he took hold of Alaura's arm, escorting her to the front of the line were he called back to him, as if on second thought, "We'll catch you later, Tut."

Tut nodded and continued to take a few steps back, holding his hand up in a wave, "No worries. I'll just wait here." The two got onto the cart, holding hands. He cocked his head, it wasn't really anything new, but they usually didn't hold hands for that long. The ride started and Tut reached up the dragon, thankful that the little beast decided his fingers didn't taste that nice after all and instead rubbed its little face against it.

He swallowed and sighed, "Yup... just wait here. Just me and my dragon." Shoving his hands into his pockets he rocked back and forth on his heels. Maybe he should just go, maybe wreck some havoc over by the dunking booth or turn into a falcon and steal someone's prize, making them chase him all across town. He sighed, there was always time for that later. Plus, who knew when he would be able to go a festival like this again.

The grin returned as they got off the ride, he raised his hand in a wave before it dropped to his side, watching Alaura force her way through the crowd... away from him and Terrance in tow. Had he don't something wrong?

Image"Yeah? Doubt I'd be able to do any of those games anyway... We could watch them together. Might be fun!" Cocking her head to one side from questioning she thought about if he ever told him what his powers were, let alone if she had told him his. I don't think so... "Watching is always fun! I think it would be awesome to have a game where I could make people fall in love with each other, but also a tad but strange." The only way she's ever force such an emotion on someone is if she were asked to, something that had never happened.

He looked down at his watch with a frown causing Ariel to feel bad, if people weren't smiling it made her feel a lump of guilt in her stomach even if it wasn't her fault. Ariel always had the feeling it was her job to make someone happy. "If Steph doesn't show up soon should we just head down towards the festival?" Raising her hand to her face she tapped her lips with her right pointer finger to think. "Yeah, I think-" Pausing she noticed how the light reflected from his watch, "Shiny." Like almost in a trances from the slight glow she moved her arm to bring his wrist to her face. As she twisted his wrist she watched how the reflections would change, ending up with the light going start into her eye.

"Ouchy!" Letting him go she grabbed her eye with both hands laughing. "Sorry, I just really like things that shine," rubbing her eye one last time she then crossed her arms, "They're like the silver lining everyone's trying to find." She wasn't sure if it made any sense to him, but to her it made lots. To her things that shined or produced light was a reminder that things can always be bright no matter what the situation.

Rubbing her hands through her hair she picked up his wrist once more and turned her head to look at the time. "What a silly girl, she's so late I hope everything's alright!" Ariel wished she'd hurry up so they could go. She didn't want to stop waiting for Stephanie in a way, but in others she did. She was ready to go play and she kind of wanted to be alone with Antares for some reason she couldn't put her finger on.

Grinning she realized she was still holding him. "She's like thirty minutes late and I'm tired of waiting," intwining her fingers with his she began pulling him to the festival, "if she ask why we left her I'll tell her it was my fault." Looking back at him she knew they were going to have fun together.

Antares watched as Ariel cocked her head, contemplating something briefly before answering, "Watching is always fun! I think it would be awesome to have a game where I could make people fall in love with each other, but also a tad but strange."

He chuckled, attempting to picture the kind of game where the aim would be to make people fall in love. After the image of two people trying to bash each others heads in and then spontaneously kissing left his head he muttered, "I doubt I'd be able to partake in any of them either. I don't that being able to plan out events in great detail or seeing multiple outcomes comes up often at festival games." Chuckling again he shrugged.

"Yeah, I think-" Antares frowned as she stopped talking, eyes fixated on his watch before she continued, "Shiny." Ariel's hand lashed out to take hold of his wrist, pulling it up to her face where large, doe-like eyes appraised the light that reflected off the glass. He raised an eyebrow, she was distracted easily wasn't she? It reminded him idly of his cat Lucky who he often caught chasing the reflection as he went about reading on the couch. He couldn't help the smile that pulled on his lips before she suddenly dropped his hand.

"Ouchy! Sorry, I just really like things that shine. They're like the silver lining everyone's trying to find." Ariel rubbed her eye as she spoke. Antares blinked as he thought over her logic, "I never thought of it that way." His lips pulled up into a half-smile, "That's a very nice way of thinking about it. Huh..."

Ariel reached down to pick up his hand once more, this time to check the time, "What a silly girl, she's so late I hope everything's alright!" Antares' frown returned, Steph was never this late, he hoped something hadn't gone wrong. "She's like thirty minutes late and I'm tired of waiting,if she ask why we left her I'll tell her it was my fault."

Antares nodded, a soft chuckle leaving him as he said, "Alright."

Ariel entwined her fingers with his as she pulled him towards the town where the festival would be held. He quickened his pace to catch up with her cheerful steps. Normally holding her hand would have made him slightly nervous, but Ariel was different, she was a bit childlike, making the gesture more innocent and noncommittal. It set him at ease. "What do you want to do first once the festival starts?

12:00 PM

Stephanie's heart was thumping as she thought about what she'd say to Antares when they were finally alone at the docks for once. Make it good Steph, he's going to love you. She had already told him it'd be okay if Ariel came along to, she doubted the kid would get between anything, she checked her phone and reread her last message:

To: Antares

Hey sure that's fine, can't wait to see you there I'll try to be early

Try was a bit of a stretch, she had purposely left work at 12:00 to make sure she had tons of time, in fact it seemed like next to nothing to could astray, but boy was she wrong. Stephanie walked across throws the docks when she noticed the car. Some idiot had bashed out a headlight! Only one person would dare do such a thing. “Izzy” Stephanie heard herself muttering under her breath. She looked back behind her. While she was furious with Izzy, she knew it wasn't worth running things with Antares. With one last scowl she continued throws the dock. Still no one, which was good, she was the first one there.

Pasting back and forth with nerves Stephanie couldn't think of much to say, a thought which scared her. She's never been good with letting people on to the fact she loved them. Why with her first boyfriend he had to practically force himself on her, so she didn't have to do much, but with the last one, well he was harder. Bobby always told her to just be herself. But what did he know, he couldn't even talk to the postman correctly.

Maybe it was because she was off in a funny memory of Bobby stuttering at the postman, or maybe it was because she wasn't paying attention but whatever the reason she tripped and landed on one wrist, her left one, hard. She winced and swore a bit. Gods her wrist hurt. But she couldn't have broken it, no she couldn't have broken it! If she had broke it that ruined everything! How was she suppose to hold hands with Antares! How was she suppose to pound Izzy!

As if for the pure good of it at that time a older middle aged man walked by. Just from the look of it Stephanie could tell he was just a normal guy and she figured he'd leave her alone.

“Why miss whatever seems to be the matter? I heard your crying while I was going around on my afternoon walk.”

“I wasn't crying it's nothing.”Stephanie growled holding her wrist and wincing.

“Well it seems to me as if you've hurt yourself, and it wouldn't be right of me to leave a young injured woman all by herself.” The man replied.

“You don't seem to understand, you see I have a date- er uh I mean I'm meeting someone!” Stephanie protested.

“Well little missy just come with me to the hospital, you can get that wrist of yours checked out, and then come right back.”
“Oh alright!” Stephanie gave in, but only because her wrist really did hurt, and though she'd never admit it to anyone she did feel a bit like crying in disappointment as she walked with the man, she hoped this would be done soon.

5PM

Stephanie sighed looking down at her wrist. It was banged and had been put in a sling. The doctor had said it was only a light sprain, but already Stephanie was worried. She hadn't been able to explain a thing to anyone as it was impossible to text with one hand. All she need now was some girl to steal Antares from her. Figuring that Antares and Ariel had left by now, Stephanie made her way to the festival. She's meet up with them there, she decided.

Image

Izzy practically melted when Lucas kissed her. She never could figure out why, sure she'd been kissed by many different people before, girls and boys alike, but no one, not even Eva Whites her high school sweetheart, could come even remotely close to this boy. And boy did she ever like that, the only problem was that she couldn't let go of this boy, when he was with others, she found herself, yes her, feeling jealous. And she couldn't stand not being around him for more than a weeks time. Izzy didn't have crushes, nor did she really have love, and this was all strange to her and frighten as well as excited her. Suddenly he stopped kissing her and instead answered her.

“I wouldn't want to keep that important thing waiting.”

“Neither would I.” She smiled as she took his hand and the two walked outside.

“I can't wait for our forth time.” She heard him whisper in her ear. She let out another laugh.

“You've counted?” She watched as he held open the door for her and walked out of it.

“Now let's go get that thing.” Lucas grinned.

“Sure thing, I'd hate to keep either one of us waiting. I hate waiting!” Izzy looked at the sky and made a warm breeze fly by as she kissed Lucas deeply before pulling away and leading him to her car. She opened her doors and told Lucas to sit wherever he wished when she saw it, parked a little aways was the Ceres's car, she'd recognize it's ugly features from anywhere.

“Hey Lucas do you mind denting up a car before we go? See it's just that this little bitch, her names Stephanie, just seems to have parked her car in my blind spot, and I won't be able to see it.” Izzy pulled out and rammed into the car before driving off.

“See?” She smiled as she drove throws her flat. When they finally arrived and wounded up in her house she looked in Lucas's eyes and smiled.

“I love you Lucas, I do, I mean I like really love you.” She told him her fingers trailing around him teasingly. “And I'm going to make you want and love me, and you're going to love tonight.” She added trying hard not to blush. She never blushed. Blushing was overrated.

***

Izzy was laying beside Lucas, her hair in a mess, not that she minded, a pleasant smile on her face.

“Well that was fun eh?” She said. “You know, I was thinking, what if during the festival we go around and try to brake up as any couples as we can. I know it sounds mean, but think of it this way, were preventing the town from unwanted pregnancies. And a lot of drama, plus we'd be the envy of town.”

Izzy realized her phone had went off and she checked it. It was from her brother:

Haha, sorry, just got your text. You'll be happy to know I spent most of my day with people already.:P See you tonight. Hey, Izzy, smart decisions okay?

So much for that, Izzy thought with a laugh

Antares was pulled around by a highly excited Ariel, eyes bright as she drank in all the lights and the general atmosphere of the festival. He watched as her eyes locked on a vendor selling snow cones and other assorted carnival foods. He looked up at the menu as Ariel's eyes grazed over it, obviously trying very hard to decide on what to get.

"To many flavors." She pouted like a small child before seeming to make up her mind, "I'd like a rainbow one and, and he'll have..."

Antares, pulled out of his thoughts answered, almost instantly, "Mango please. He watched as the vendor went about preparing their order while Ariel caught sight of the popcorn hanging above their heads. She reached up and across him to grab a bag, "I'd like this too."

The man came back with their snow cones. Antares pulled out his wallet to pay before spotting Ariel do the same, he reached out to stop her, "Don't worry about -" Before he could even finish his protest she'd handed the man the money. With a slightly disgruntled look he pocketed his wallet and picked up the snow cone, swiftly putting on a smile as they walked through the crowd. "You have to let me pay you back for that."

He ate his snow cone contentedly, smiling to himself at the sweet taste. "You can have some of my popcorn if you want." He smiled and took a couple of the popped kernels, the salty taste clashing momentarily with the syrupy sweetness of the snow cone. "Thanks." He smiled at her before continuing to eat the frozen treat.

They continued to walk before he felt Ariel grab his shirt sleeve, her bubbly voice reaching him a split second later, "We have to ride that!" She dragged him towards the ride, its blinking lights making a glowing haven pulling in all children into its warm gravitational pull. "This will be the first ride I've road in ten years!" Her bubbly voice in her excitement and eagerness to reach the ride.

Suddenly, as if he had been dunked under water, he saw her in a whole new light. She was beautiful. Breathtakingly so. A smile pulled up his lips without his own consent. He wanted to lean forth and kiss her, he couldn't wrap his head around the sudden urge but fought it as they took their place near the front of the line. She looked up at him, biting her lip and playing with her hair. He lent down slightly before her voice cut through his wandering thoughts, "Do you feel ok, I accidentally-"

She never finished her sentence as the conductor of the ride called for the next people in the line, Ariel grabbing his shirt as she dragged him up onto the carousel. She led them to two of the horses, quickly sitting astride a pink horse, leaving him with the grey one beside it. He grinned as he hopped on, feeling slightly like a small child, letting the child-like wonder and excitement take over. The ride jolted into motion, Antares still trying to get a grip on his own sudden urge which slowly disappeared with each revolution of the carousel.

"I hope you're enjoying yourself too!"

Antares grinned over at her, nodding, "Yeah! I forgot how much fun festivals could be!" His grin widened before he turned to see the faces of the people as they walked past. One more time around he spotted Steph, her arm in a sling. His eyes widened with shock, what had happened. He turned to Ariel, "I found Steph!"

He turned back around and waited before he spotted her walking through the crowd, searching, "STEPH!" He waved almost furiously as he called out, hoping that she'd heard him.
