Personality

Tom is a very complex person but his most common state is that of no visible emotion at all. He will do whatever he wants within his own limited moral code of conduct and will do so to get exactly what he desires. He is a survivor who thinks of himself first always and will tolerate company so long as they do not slow him down and could offer some kind of benefit. He has no problem using violence to get his way and often it is all he resorts to where talking could also work, but he is loath to hit women and small children and would at least hesitate to hurt someone who has done him no conceavable wrong, unless they stood in his way for whatever reason. Tom does however look for any opportunity to escape his criminal past and start afresh, not for any sense of doing good instead of evil but simply to see what life is like not looking over your shoulder every second. Unbeknowns to him this desire could be the path to making him a better person, so long as things go his way long enough for him to notice.

History

Tom was raised by his Mother without ever knowing his Father and despite her very best efforts he fell in with the wrong crowds during secondary school and sixth form, constantly getting into fights and trouble with the police. Despite all this he got surprisingly good grades and took up literature studies in University where he actively began to involve himself in serious organised crime. After a series of money laundering scams, armed robberies and lucrative drug running he was finaly caught and convicted, spending 6 years behind bars.

At 31 he was re-released and immediately got into his old habits, moving down south from his home town of Manchester to London to continue his career with new associates. At 35 he was arrested for his involvement in an armed robbery of a bookies that resulted in two staff being shot to death, a sentence of 20 years. During the last two years he has hears through rumours coming in and out of the prison and through news channels of the deadly virus that laid waste to the world and a good portion of the UK. In all the confusion he's looking for his chance to escape....
