It is the day before the departing of the Fellowship from Rivendale, and the sun is beginning to wane. Durhnoram, the Great Eagle, stands perched atop a rocky tor. His sharp beak grooms through his feathers as he looks smugly upon all of you. His talons clutched around an ornate bag, Lothlórien emblems embroidering it's dainty silk.

"Gandalf sends his greetings, my friends, and begrudgingly the Elven Lord send their blessings."

He holds the small pouch out in front of him, indicating the consent of the Rings of Power. His head tilts to the side, scanning over you all. You feel the cold sensation of being judged, before finally his head lowers with a friendly grin. A flick of the foot, and the bag plopped to the ground with a small jingle.

"We are to make way a day ahead of the others. Rally your valor, my friends, for this may be the only peace we'll know for quite some time"

  • I am the all powerful omnipotent God of this universe. I belch thunder and shoot lightning bolts from out my arse. Do not trifle with me. My word is law, and my laws are ever changing.

  • One character is fine, but the max is three.

  • Must be literate in English, okay with harsh language, and not bothered by intense gore to apply for this RP. Please keep all romance at PG. No one minds if you get jiggy with it, but fade to black.

  • This will be using a mix of cannon from the movies, books, and games to better add to the diversity. If there's any issue with this, feel free to speak your mind in the OOC.
  • Magic is not something common in the lore of Middle Earth. Only Maiar and very few others may practice it. Any character claiming an ability with it should have a damn good reason in their sheet.

  • Be respectful to all in the OOC. I understand disagreements are inevitable, but keep it at a debate level. IIf I must come in to settle it, I will, and the first person to argue with me will be the first to die from a random Balrog attack.

  • Balrogs CAN NOT FLY. Getting that out of the way right now.

  • Marry sues, Gary-stues, metagamers, and godmodders shall be victims of Fell Beast snatch-&-grabs.

  • Please try and be original with your characters. I know Tolkien has done a good job of using almost every archtype one could think of, but it's not that hard to make something new. PM me if you need any ideas.

  • Diversity is a must. I can't stand a party of like 5 dwarves or 8 hobbits. Please, no more than two characters of similar backgrounds or homelands. We all can't be Dúnedain Rangers. We just can't.

  • Please reserve your characters by posting the basic concept for them in the OOC. That way no one makes their character only to find someone just made one just like yours.

  • Rules may suck, but your here to kill a crap-ton of orcs and have fun, so please do so violently and joyfully.

  • Those who break my rules shall know a fate worse than death. I shall force you to hear The Mouth of Sauron sing The Ding Dong Song for all eternity. And yes, that means you touch his tralala.....

  • To make sure you read the rules and understand the plot of the story, at the bottom of your character sheet I want you to answer this question: Are we traveling with the Fellowship?

Verza watched Slanu's trick. 'sneaky bastard...I like him.' Verza told himself a pleased and amused slime playing onto his face's fetures. He felt Slanu start pushing the orc. Verza pushed up and the beast lifetd enough for him to roll out form under it. "Thank you brother." Verza said warmly. Verza then laughed a little as he saw some of the orc falter as their cammander had been easily defeated. he heard one of them screech some fowl words in orcish and they began to flee. There were only about ten of them left of the original twenty five.

Verza laughed this time audible for almost anyone to hear. It was his hearty happy to be alive full souled laugh. "That was... Unexpected." Verza said with a smirk. "But a good wake up call." Verza said he stretched his back a little, it had been hurt with the orcs massive body on him. Thank goodness there was only two. "We need to always be ready."

Verza looked around, But he noticed something. they were missing someone. he then saw the great white wolf standing over her master wining. Verza first smiled thinking she was just laying down. Until he noticed crimson spattered across her stomach. "Damn." verza said. She had been away from the group, probably thinking she could pick off the orcs in hiding. She had an arrow in her gut. Verza looked back, his eyes scanning for Nienna.

"She's dying. She needs help." Verza called out. They needed to hurry, befroe the orcs regrouped and came back more heavily armed and with more numbers.

Nienna’s spell had proven effective and helped make things simpler for the group. The orcs attacked now from the ground. There were still plenty more of them to take down however. Verza had found himself ambushed by a large Orc, one of two leaders to the attacking group of Orcs. Verza managed to slay the large Orc that dropped down on him however the dead weight of the creature was a bit overwhelming for the tactful human and Verza found himself stuck underneath the dead orc. The second leading Orc was moving in for the kill. "A little help maybe?" Verza called out

Nienna heard Verza’s call and quickly turned around her eyes darting about in search of Verza. There he was trapped under a heavy and dead Orc. The second large Orc grinned evilly as he prepared to kill Verza. Nienna gasped she was simply too far away from him to reach Verza in time. She panicked on the inside thinking, “How did shift so far from us? I must act fast! I spell would take too long to conjure, but an arrow has a prayer of swiftness.” However, before Nienna could act, Slanu had moved in to save Verza. The short human man was indeed nimble and swift. He was valiant in his bravery against an Orc that made the fight appear as if a mouse was fighting a wild boar, that the mouse was winning.

Nienna was much relieved to see Verza safe and now standing. The skirmish had drawn to a close. Nienna let go of her bow and arrows and they disappeared off into rays of what appeared to be sunlight. Nienna looked around to see if everyone was alright. Everyone in her field of vision seemed to be just fine. Nienna then heard Verza call out. "She's dying. She needs help."

Nienna was startled and then she realized, Liliana must have been gravely injured. Nienna drew up some of her dress and sprinted toward the sound of Verza’s voice. She quickly found him and bleeding Liliana. Nienna knelt down with Liliana and quickly inspected her wounds. “She has little time left in here… “ Nienna said as she began to shed tears. Nienna’s voice was whispery and she held Liliana’s hand. “Oh Great Moon, Middle Earth let your grace cover her. Let her be spared. And if no longer doth she have a claim in this land, allow what grace and mercy given to me to pass to Liliana, if but for a moment. Allow her to pass with her kin, to the undying lands… Let her be spared!” Nienna spoke sorrowfully while staring at the sky. She began to glow of a light visible to all near. She knew now what must be done. Her prayer was heard, it was now her duty to prepare Liliana for her journey to the Undying lands.

[OOC: The next portion should be read while listening the song found at this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZG1aDo2 ... UjcinTIEOA . It is the passing of the elves song.]

Nienna began to sing in Elvish. Her voice flowed throughout the surrounding area. Rays of light beamed through the trees. Nienna was surrounded with a bright white light. As Nienna’s singing progressed her voice was joined by other voices several elves gracefully appeared from the forest and village homes harmonized with her. The voices sang a sorrowful tune filled with power. The trees glowed. Liliana’s body glowed and her wound began to close.

Upon the song’s conclusion, Nienna spoke. “Liliana is safe from death for now. However Middle Earth hath no place for her now. Life for Liliana here is sustained only by a grace sufficient enough to carry her to the Undying Lands. She shall now diminish and set off unto the land of her kin.” Nienna tuned to the other elves that stood waiting to take Liliana across the sea. “Please make haste, for she has little time left here. The magic and miracle I was allowed to perform here must meet it’s desired end with Liliana in the Undying Lands.” Nienna bid the sleeping elf maiden farewell and after a few moments the elves present carried Liliana away to begin her journey to the undying lands.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Well, technically a Haradrim and Easterlings are both "Men of Evil" so probably yea, however the RP unfortunately stopped some time ago

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

This RP looks pretty awesome i actually might sign-up. Do you accept Eastling based characters?

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

My dog just died in my arms today. This RP is on hold till...... idk. I'll PM all of you if I can keep roleplaying.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

I do appreciate you taking an interest in the story, but I'd thank you if you did that. Only with story advancing parts though, or just ask me a question. Seriously, that's probably the best way to avoid this sorta goof up. And I'm still trying to get a hold of Shadow..... He'd never forgive me if I booted him out of the story, but it's really hard to continue without him.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Sory Raid, I'll try not to do it again, I'll Pm you my post before I actually post... Maybe that would be a better idea when someone is posting a story advancing part.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

@DA: No, like I said, it still works, it's just for future reference please try not to beat me to a scene. And sorry for not posting, I'm trying to figure out what happened to Shadow (as in Shadow44499) and I really don't want to kill off his toon so I'm trying to get him back here.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

I'll post once Raidose tells Shadow what to alter regarding Lilianna's death. I'll have Nienna aid her magically just to prevent her from actually dying so that she can be sent to the undying lands.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

would you like me to remove that part?

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Uhh.... Okay.... I had another plan with a little more dignity, but that works.... I guess..... I really don't mean to sound like a dick, but can you stop beating me to the punch, DA? That was a scripted an planned event.....

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Done! I just made it a larger orc so nobody has to totally re write their entire post.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Well, I can't think of how or why you would fit a warg through a dug-out tunnel, so yeah, edit please.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

So edit? no edit? sorry, But I need some direction here.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Lol I understand that, but Wargs were bred in Isengard, which is not even fully operational right now. Think of this as the first movie, you just dragged something that wasn't seen till the second over here. There will be plenty of time to recreate that scene between Gimli and the Warg when we get to Rohan.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

I'm sorry if my last post is a little too story progressing. I will edit it if need be. But I wanted to get that in there.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Gah! Fucking Router from Hell! Okay, just got a chance to read the new posts.... sort of. Lot to read through and still working everything out. Two things I noticed.

Roku, these aren't goblins, they are orcs. I know Tolkien said goblin is the hobbit word for orcs, but his work was under constant rewriting, and the movie and game media effectively made goblins their own thing. Two forms trump one in my opinion, and I've always preferred the distinction between the two. As I said in my rules, I will take snippets from all forms of cannon, and the movies and games are mostly cannon.

And Masato, we were not in Rivendell, we were just outside it. While technically IN the area of Rivendell, we were in a clearing in the woods of the Trollshaws which surround it. As I said in my Intro, "Just beyond the safe and serene glitter of the Elven homes, in a clearing of the great trees of the Trollshaws, various heroes, men and women of all races and beings, gather their strength and resolve". We didn't actually start traveling anywhere, and we were never IN Rivendell, the location was marked Rivendell (Yes, I know, I miss spelled it Rivendale) because it was basically RIGHT THERE. Sorry for the confusion, and you don't have to edit anything if you don't want to. I just wanted to clarify that we haven't started moving yet, the ambush took place right outside the village.

Edit: Nekohina, Basically what I just said to Masato applies to you too. I really was sure I mentioned that we were just outside Rivendell, and I don't remember saying we ever left that area. This was just suppose to be a "as we were conversing" sort of deal. And again, we're not fighting goblins, we're fighting orcs.

X_X Why are there so many people posting that we moved? Nowhere did I say we moved! Trust me, I'll make a narrative when we start traveling, but if I don't it means we didn't!

DA, there isn't a warg! People! Please stop adding crap that isn't there! Or at least ask me first! Please? I'd like to be kept in the loop of my own rp! Agh, never mind. This kinda messes with my plans, but I'll work around it I guess. Just.... in the future people, please ask. Wargs would have never gotten past the elven scouts, and the only reason the orcs did is because they dug through old Troll and spider tunnels to evade the patrols.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

I had Verza pull a gimli for a little comedic effect... XD

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Verza's body is just a machine made to hold his brain and communicate, it's not so much for physical fighting.

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

HAH! It's up! Dispatch of this minor cannon-fodder as you please! I'm pretty sure even Verza might be able to kill one. Glean what you will from the fact that I said "Verza" and not "Gale".

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Not really feeling so well today, so sorry for lack of story advancement. I have half the encounter saved in a draft, but I may have to finish it later. Idk. I'm hoping for today, but I'm pretty sure it'll be tomorrow. Again, I apologize. Damn "Bleh" Feeling!

Re: Lord of the Rings: The Song Unsung

Sorry, I don't really adhere to turns. I'll jump in sometimes, but as far as turns go, count me out.
