The fire was overwhelming the forest on the outskirts of Montefor , River drew her bow back held it there as the magical energy collected. " Spirit of the winter winds," she paused for a moment to let it charge a bit more. " Take flight! " she said as she released the bow string and set the arrow fling. As the arrow flew through the forest, everything in its path the trees and the fire froze in place.

" That takes care of some of the problem...... Now what was I here for now " she had forgotten her immediate task that sent to this area of Lore. " Crap " she growled as she drew another arrow to put out some more of the fire. As quickly as she drew her bow she put away. Two people not knowing if they are friend or foe made her worry. River has only been on her own for about a month and she never knew anything but her mountain home.. well until now that is. She climed a near by tree as quickly as possible hoping they did not see her.

Luxan shook his head and laughed at Isiri "Do you want me to send you there? I could speed up your time and you would get there in a matter of hours." As he said that he began rifling through his spell book looking for the correct spell. When all of a sudden the tree around him began to chill as an incredibly fast object sped by. It was so fast that Luxan could neither see where it had come from or even what the object had looked like. He looked at Isiri curiously "Did you do that?"

"No, no. Actually I could really use the time--" Isiri stopped as she whirled in the direction of what she believed was an enchanted arrow had come from. She caught sight of the rustle of a few branches and a falling leaf or two. Someone was very fast, but probably not a stealthy as they hoped.

She scoffed at Luxan. "Do I look like a magic user? Stay here a moment." She let the forest cover her and quickly became invisible. She then scrambled up the tree next to her and stealthily made her way over towards the area that the arrow had come from. Judging from the lack of a forest fire and the icy patch of forest, she assumed that the arrow was not aimed at them specifically, but rather the fire. Therefore it was unlikely that this newcomer was a threat. But then, one could never be too careful with all the crap they'd been through in the last few days. Better safe than sorry.

Luxan grumbled as he sat down in the clearing. isiri had bounded off looking for the source of the magical arrow without asking him to help. "Whatever, it's not like i could've rewound the time over here to show us where it had come from exactly!" he shouted in her direction.

Dante's men finished the work of clearing out the debris from the square within an hour of the demon being destroyed. All of Luxan's friends had gone off in different directions except for Kael who had walked off still within sight. Dante wished anyone other than her would have stayed. He would have even preferred the obnoxious and defiant elf over her. He walked over to her and said "Kael, what I am may not matter to you but, to your friends and to my brother they will see me as an abomination. We use our strength to protect the city and not for evil yet, they will still see it as such. That is why i must hide the fact that I am a werewolf. For the sake of the people, how would they react if they knew that monsters were the ones protecting their streets? Now would you care to hunt some insane dragons just like old times?"

River hid in the tree branches hoping not to be found. she sat there slowly breathing and peeking around to see if any one was close by or not. A light cool breeze drift by, she pointed her noise to it and inhaled. The wind carried the smell of human in it and it was close by as well. She did not want to hert them but if it came to that she would do as she must.

" Crap... crap..... no no no no " she muttered to herself as she closed her eyes tightly and covered her face with her hands. Her heart raised even tho she tried to slow it down, it would not and now her breathing had became erratic but still soft.

The book the Aeryn goddess of fate had given him flue out of his bag shining brightly and hovering above his body. Then Malik's heart beat became stronger, a little life force still held him their, but He could not move.

--- IN MALIK'S MIND---------------

He was bound to a tree in a dark forest with no means of escape. He looked to the sky to see a dark red moon and no stars. In the background there was a rustling of movement not from wind but from something. " Monster..... Murder.... deeeeemon!!!! " ghost of his past seemed to have come back to torment him.

" Kael......Kael.. Sir Blue... Luxan..... Isiri..... Master Nocte..... some one HELP..." he muttered in fear at the sight of the dead people of the past appeared in front of him. " help me please "

A dark and sinister laugh all to familiar to him " no one is going to help some like you..... just give in and let me out.....come on its the only way to get out of here, just face it will be easier I you just let me out of your own will..... or I'll wait until you fade away. Either way I'll get out. " the voice was that of Thurkear the Demon beast that trapped inside of him.

"SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" he yelled still hoping someone any one would hear him and save him once again.

Isiri smirked as she picked up the soft mutterings. Never talk to yourself out loud, amateur. She scanned the branches until she found a clump of color only slightly out of place. Whoever this was did a rather decent job of blending in; Isiri was actually rather impressed. Not many could hide so well on such short notice.

She swiftly and silently positioned herself behind the newcomer. Studying the figure, Isiri was rather relieved to find that it was a petite female who looked to be younger than herself, but she knew full well that looks could be ever so deceiving. And yet...she sensed no ill will or dark aura from the girl, and the forest seemed to be alright with her.

Containing a sigh, Isiri came down from her tree. Ensuring that the stranger was looking away, Isiri once again became visible before stepping out from her hiding spot and calling to the newcomer.

"Alright! I know you're up there!" she called out towards the girl. "Now I know I don't mean you any harm, and I'm fairly certain you don't mean us harm either. So I think we can agree to meet down here like civilized beings. And I'll be honest, I've had a hell of a day and I'm not really in the mood to deal with more crap. Now won't you please come down?"

Isiri practically barfed at her own words, but she knew that sneaking up on the girl could have easily started another fight, and she wasn't entirely keen on getting frozen today. Even if all she really wanted to do was to beat the everloving daylights out of someone at the moment, she controlled herself for the sake of diplomacy. Luxan would be so relkt proud.

She whirled towards the sound of shattering ice. The currently unknown threat knocked the known one down a notch in importance in her mind. Nesa's balls! she mentally swore as the sound of ice crunching came steadily closer, Will we ever catch a relkt break!!!

River sat there for some time then slowly at first the soft sounds of cracks. Soon enough, a loud shattering sound rung out in the forest as the ice fell to pieces, releasing its captured man. "C'mon... it's not much... farther," Those sounds made her heart drop into the pit of her stomach and she was filled with sorrow.

Then she heard a voice "Alright! I know you're up there!" The lady called out towards River. "Now I know I don't mean you any harm, and I'm fairly certain you don't mean us harm either. So I think we can agree to meet down here like civilized beings. And I'll be honest, I've had a hell of a day and I'm not really in the mood to deal with more crap. Now won't you please come down?"

She spend no time getting down, instead of climbing down she jumped. " Sorry" she said passing by the lady that found her. She landed with much grace and pose that you would expect from a dancer or from someone in the circus.

" are you okay " she said running over the man trapped in the ice. The man began cutting into the ice covered ground and pulling himself forward with an uninjured arm, sound of crunchinng heard with every move he made forward just a little bit. The mans blood stained the ice as he moved forward, with everything swing of the axe it felt like her heart stopped. " I am so sorry, I did not mean to trapped the Ice... I... I.. I Just wanted to stop the fire" she did not care if he was a foe or not, she wanted to help this man for the wrong she done.

Talmar stopped crawling forward, and let the axe free from his grip as he began to rest, having finally found someone who might help him. He felt weak as his vision became hazy and distorted, having lost much blood by now. The words of another person seemed to calm him, and he tried to keep his head up. It became increasingly hard to breathe, and he was panting from the

"It... wasn't you... it was the werewolves," he told River. His head dropped and his cheek smacked the ice, his body gone limp. They could see him struggle to keep his eyes open as he fought for his consciousness. But it seemed a losing, uphill battle for him.

Isiri felt better once she saw the condition of the new thr-well, she wasn't entirely sure he could be called a threat at this point. The man was almost completely out of it and it seemed that the girl had accidentally trapped him in the ice when she was putting out the fire. Seeing the genuine concern on the girl's face, Isiri stopped considering her an imminent threat for the time being. Not to say that she trusted the girl, or even the man bleeding out on the forest floor. He could always be faking. She never fully trusted anyone in truth.

She crouched down next to the man and beside the girl. "Do you know any healing magic?" she asked quickly, but not exactly waiting for a response from the girl before she called out, "Luxan! We've got someone injured!" Isiri then quickly got to work trying to staunch the bleeding. She took off her cloak and pressed it against his side where she determined the larger wound was. Then she grabbed some of the chopped ice from where the man had used the axe to pull himself along and started to pack his wounds with it.

As the ice melted against his still warm body, Isiri found the tattoo on the man's shoulder and grimaced. "Khadryan? Well shit," she swore. She'd never actually seen a Khadryan before, but she had heard of them from a band of thieves that had hid out up in the Icelands once. Granted they had been rather drunk, but she did recall them saying that Khadryans couldn't be healed with traditional magics. She wasn't sure how accurate the information was, but would it hurt him to try? She didn't know.

Isiri had finally staunched most of the bleeding but was still disturbed by what the man had said. She knew he wasn't lying, werewolves had definitely done this. His wounds proved that much. She didn't like where this was leading.

"ISIRI!" She heard Luxan call out for her, snapping her out of her thoughts. "Relkt! What now?" she cursed. "You, stay with him and keep the pressure on his wounds," she told the girl before taking off in Luxan's direction. Arriving, she saw the skeletal knight lofting Luxan onto his horse. She quickly threw a dagger into a chink in it's armor.

"Oi! Boney! Hands off the Mage!" she yelled gathering it's full attention. The knight left the unconscious mage on the horse to deal with the newcomer. Isiri slightly grimaced when she recognized it as a death knight. The things were a bitch to kill.

The death knight said nothing, they never did, as he came at Isiri, fully intending to end this quickly. She deftly avoided him and twisted another dagger up under his back armor. She knew that the only way to kill a death knight was to detach the five points where what was left of the soul and the spell keeping it tied to the body. The beauty of the trick was that the death knights thought they were immortal, and they pretty much were. But their creators knew that they would need a way to decommission any knights who got out of hand. And one of those creators happened to be a bit of a gambler and sold the secret to some thieves to pay off his debt.

Two down, three to go, she thought grimly as she kicked off his back and landed a few feet away. The knight reeled around to face her again before drawing his sword and charging. Predictable, she smirked inwardly as he made a lunge at her. She jumped up and used the sword as a step before roundhouse kicking the knight's helmet off. That's three. Isiri flipped to her feet and waited for the knight's next move.

With his helmet off the knight looked even more ghastly. It's glowing red eyes seemed to seep wisps of flames. He sheathed his sword and tossed his shield in his helmet's direction, opting for a change of tactics. Smart.

The two silent opponents charged each other once more. They met with a flurry of kicks, fists, daggers, and dirty tricks. When they finally broke apart again the knight's armor was thoroughly scratched and he had an array of daggers sticking out of his arm while Isiri spat blood and was favoring her left side. She drew her dual sword from her back and held it as if to say, "Shall we?"

The knight drew his sword in response and the two charged again. Isiri dodged the first attack and drove her sword up and under the knight's breastplate and twisted it into the fifth point. The knight finally realized what was happening and his boney fingers found their way around Isiri's neck.

He squeezed, she pushed. And for a moment they stayed like that. Isiri dangling off the ground by the skeleton hand with her sword shoved deep into the core of the spell. Then it broke.

The hand fell to pieces along with the rest of the death knight. Isiri dropped to the ground gasping and sputtering, thankful for the renewed flow of oxygen to her lungs. She eventually got up and retrieved her sword from the rubble of what used to be the death knight before trudging over towards Luxan and the horse.

River was a bit overpowered by the sent of the wounded giant of a man, but this would not make her waver in the slightest.

The woman crouched down beside River. "Do you know any healing magic?" she asked quickly, but not waiting for a response from the her before she called out to someone else, "Luxan! We have got someone injured!" then she quickly got to work trying to stop the bleeding. The woman was very impressive with dealing with the wounds, "Khadryan? Well shit,"

' What is Khadryan?' she thought as she watched her work.

River was going to answer the woman but was interrupted someone else "ISIRI!" A voice yelled from far off. "Relkt! What now?" The woman cursed. "You, stay with him and keep the pressure on his wounds," she told the girl before taking off in her companions direction.

" Wait!.. do leave me with him.." she whimpered as Isiri went off. She did not waste any time doing as she was told. " So what are you Sir... You do not smell like a human or anything I ever came across since I left home" She laughed at herself for talking to an unconscious person. " Now that I get a good look at you your very attractive...." she added know that he most likely he would not hear a thing. Reaching in her bag with one hand she pulled out some healing herbs, bandages, mortar and pestle and began to make a paste for the wounds, all while still putting pressure on the large wound.

Luxan was starting to come to awareness when Isiri dispatched the death knight. She had her back turned to the other one that let go of his legs and pulled itself out of the ground. Luxan tried to call out a warning, but he was having trouble formulate the words. The death knight hit her over the head knocking her over. Luxan reached for his neck and ripped of a necklace and threw it at Isiri. With that the death knight hit him over the head and the light went dark.

Dante and Kael reached the manor within the hour by then even Dante was feeling tired. However, there was an almost visible scent of death in the air. Dante looked at Kael making sure that she wasn't looking and when she turned her head he gave a silent glare at two of his guards. He silently ordered his men to find the source and to eliminate it. They nodded and started walking to the end of the town and out of sight. Dante nodded and walked into the manor. The butler came up and said, "The knight arrived sometime ago and is residing in the guest bedroom." Dante nodded and strode into the dining room and said, "Prepare a room for the lady and where is the angelic?" Dante wanted to know the wares outs of all of Luxan's group.

Isiri had sheathed her sword when she noticed that Luxan had started coming too. She was glad to see that he seemed alright for the most part. She heard coming from behind and half turned to see a second death knight bring his shield down across her head.

Relkt! She swore as she hit the ground. You fool! How could you have not noticed a second one?! She tried to force herself up but the world blurred as blood trickled into her eye from the gash on her forehead. Something hit the ground in front of her and then she heard the familiar pounding of horse hooves on the earth as the death night undoubtedly road off with Luxan.

She angrily pounded her fist into the ground. Cursing herself for letting this happen. She tried pushing herself up only to fall back down. Her arms were shaky and the world wouldn't quite stay still the way it was supposed to. She tried a few more times, eventually succeeding to get on her hands and knees. She reached in front of her and grabbed hold of what she now knew to be a necklace that she assumed Luxan had thrown at her.

Sitting up, she rubbed the blood from her eyes and dug out a bit of clean cloth to staunch the bleeding. She simply sat there for few minutes, trying to find the strength to stand. She knew she needed to get up. But her body was a little uncooperative at the moment. Finally she rose, the pendent clutched in her hand, and made her way back towards the strangers with a slight limp. When she got back to them, she saw that the girl had been busy doing a far better job of healing the stranger than Isiri could have. She went and checked the man's vitals which were strong. He would live.

"You've done a good job with him, thank you," she said to the girl, "My friend's been taken by death knights and I need to get help sent after him at once. There's a village called Montefor in that direction," she pointed, "and I'm going to go there and try and send back help, okay? What's your name so I can tell them who to look for?"

"You've done a good job with him, thank you," she said to River, nearly making her "My friend's been taken by death knights and I need to get help sent after him at once. There's a village called Montefor in that direction," she pointed, "and I'm going to go there and try and send back help, okay? What's your name so I can tell them who to look for?"

She finished up with the last bandage before she truned around and answered the woman named Isiri." Thank you very much I did have I could do with him the was he is and all" she said with a worried smile " My name is River and I also like to add that I sorry your friend was token away" she looked to the ground the back at Isiri " What's a death knight?" she added with a dumbfounded like on her face.

Isiri nodded at the girl, "River then. They're the false queen's specialized force. More like highly skilled group of errand boys she sends out to do her dirty work." Isiri fiddled with the cloth as she did her best to tie it around her head so she wouldn't have to hold it to the wound. Getting up she snatched her bag off the ground and hauled it over her shoulder. "I'll send back help as soon as I can," she said as she started jogging in the direction of Montefor. By the time she got there she had developed a stitch in her side and was pointedly ignoring the pain shooting up her left leg.

Never the less, she quickly made her way to the manor, ignoring the strange looks the guards were giving her. The blood from her head wound had seeped through the bandage and a few trickles of blood ran down the side of her face. She ran up to the manor and burst through the front door, obviously startling the butler. She brushed past him once she spotted Dante down the hall. She snagged his sleeve to grab his attention.

"Death knights," she panted. Her hands were trembling now, despite her best efforts to steady herself. "Death knights...they....they took him."

Isiri shook her head, "No, not really. I left shortly after the battle intending to return Diviel's ashes to her kin, but Luxan came after me and then things just started spiraling from there." She rubbed at her temples, "First the girl with the ice arrows, then the Khadryan, then the death knights, then Dante was freaking out and assigned me these two, no offense guys, and forced me to rest, which admittedly was needed, but it's irritating as hell just waiting around for news and--ah relkt, I'm rambling. Sorry, that was probably more confusing than it was enlightening."

"Let me start again," she said as they entered the kitchens and were directed to a wooden table by the door. Skeates went over to talk to the cooks while Fergus sat down with them. Isiri took a deep breath before continuing, "Right, so I left, you were there for that, and then Luxan followed after me, but as we were talking this magic ice arrow flew past. I went to investigate and met this girl named River, who, as it turned out, accidentally froze this poor man in ice. We started to tend to him, but then Luxan called out for me so I went rushing back to him only to find a Death Knight dragging him off. I managed to kill the first one, but I didn't notice the second until it was too late. That's how this happened," she gestured to the stitches in her.

"And, well, I wasn't in any condition to go chasing after him, not like I could outrun a Hellmount anyways. So I came rushing back here to tell Dante and, um, that bit's a little hazy. I do know there was quite a bit of yelling involved, and he was ordering everyone around. I remember taking offense at that. Still think we should have gone after him right away, but I'm not the one in charge soâ€Ķ" She gave a defeated sigh. As Isiri had finished her account a few of the kitchen staff approached and set down the food. Isiri thanked them and then turned back to Kael, "So that's what went on with me, how are you faring?"
