History
Image
Elijah was born into a fairly normal family. He had a father and a mother that loved him very much. Growing up, he was spoiled as much as was possible. For the first part of his life, he was a normal child in a normal family. However, everything changed when he turned seven. His father lost his job. This cause a great strain on the small family. His father searched and searched for another job though he still hadn't found one after six months. It was then that he began drinking heavily. After his drinking slowly got worse and worse, Elijah's father began beating him and his mother..terribly. This continued on for at least three years before his mother was able to get them away from the man. By then, Elijah was already damaged.

He was no longer the super outgoing boy that loved being the center of attention. He spent most of his time alone for the most part though he did have a few really close friends, still. He spent the next few years going through school. He met Olive Croft. Slowly, he began spending time with. He found that he really enjoyed being with her. He let her in...the first person in a very long time. However, she ended up breaking things off with him and he just couldn't understand why. He'd thought that they were happy..in love. He's still in love with her though he knows that he can never let her close to him again. Currently, Elijah is going to school and works part time at a local restaurant. When he's not doing either of those, he is usually writing for his blog.

Summer. A six letter word that implies freedom. School ended a week ago and now every high school teen is trying to find ways to see the world, avoid parents, attend as many parties as possible. Of course for the 6 friends, they are entering senior year which mean summer is truly meant for college plans, but that can happen later. They want to experience the freedom before they are sucked back into the jail called school.

Belladona awoke that morning already planning to stay in her room. Although her friends would most likely drag her out of her bed and throw her outside, head first. Crawling out of the bed, she stumbled over to her bathroom to get dressed for whatever the day has planned. Her outfit was simple, but screamed Belle in many ways. Once she gave herself a once over in the mirror she skipped down the grand stair case.

Her father was what some would call upper middle class do to his job as a lawyer. The house has 7 bedrooms (2 of which are master), 1 giant kitchen, a full basement, 2 acres for a backyard, and 4 full bathrooms. It was big for just two people, but Belle was known for hosting sleep overs for all her friends. She made her way into the kitchen and saw that everything was left the way is was last night. Untouched. This was the first sign of her father not being home. Sign number two is not responding to a distress call.

"FIRE!" she shouted. After waiting a few moments with no answer it was decided that her father wasn't home. It wasn't great, but it wasn't bad. He was working to keep food on the table and clothes on their back. But it would be nice to see her father every once in a while. She picked up her phone and sent a message to all her friends.

To: Everyone!
From:Belle <3
Breakfast at my house. Waffles, Eggs, and Bacon. Get it while it's hot.

The message sent. She was expecting most of her friends to show up. And if they didn't she would have all this food for herself. While the bacon was sizzling she texted Elijah. She wanted a Caramel Frappuccino from Starbucks, he was the only one who would possibly bring it to her.

To: Elijah
From: Belle <3
Bring me a caramel frappuccino! Please and Thank you!

She got back to breakfast. She had about 30 minutes until the first person showed up.

Faster. Faster. Faster!

The room blurred past in a swish of color-- only the mirror in perfect focus every other second as her body snapped around and around, her eyes focusing on her reflection every time she completed the 360 degree turn. Sweat rolled down the curve of her back, soaking through the white ballet tunic she wore. Suddenly, her ankle twisted under her- causing her to fall over onto her side. "Fuck," she hissed as her hip made contact with her sun room floor.

Sucking air in through her teeth to stifle the slew of profanities that threatened to spill out, Olive slowly pulled herself off the floor. With a groan she made her way out of the room, reaching over to turn off her radio on the way out. Her big recital was next week. It would be the first time since joining the dance class that she was picked for the solo. Her nerves knotted in her stomach, twisting her standard smile into a scowl.

Once out of the shower and back in her room, Olive walked over to her phone where it sat on the bedside stand charging. Ignoring the feel of water dripped down her shoulders, she slid her thumb across the screen to open the message that flashed at her.

From:Belle
Message:Breakfast at my house. Waffles, Eggs, and Bacon. Get it while it's hot.

Oliva smiled and type up a quick reply.

To: Belle
Message: Hey! Yeah, I'll be right over!

As she hit send she tossed her phone back onto the nightstand. Tonight was going to be amazing. It was the first official night of summer and she was finally free of her academic obligations. She had finished out the year with a solid 4.0 gpa. Oliva finished blow drying her hair and pulling on her outfit for the day. With a sigh, Oli looked up into her mirror and stared into her reflection. A curious looking girl stared back at her. "Remember to smile today." The girl in the mirror seemed just as lost as she felt, so with another sigh Olive left her alone. She didn't feel like staring into her reflection for very long these days- there were things she didn't care to notice about herself. Her cheeks were slightly more hollow than they were before, and her hands shook just slightly sometimes. All reminders of her condition.

Olive made her way down stairs and as she went she sent a text to Elijah.

To: Eli
Message: Hey, did you get the breakfast message? Can you pick me up..?

She hit send as she came to the bottom of the stairs, where she turned to go to the kitchen. She opened the mirror behind the sink and took out her medication, staring into the neat little tray that organized her prescriptions. Today was two little yellows, one large blue, a green gel, and half a red one. She closed her eyes and sighed. There was a pill for everything. A pill to help her breathe that gave her nausea, a pill to stop the nausea that gave her nosebleeds, a pill to stop the nosebleeds that made her tired... The list just went on and on, until she was so medicated she could barely think straight sometimes. The medication made it impossible to drive herself anywhere, and at any rate she was terrified that she'd have an episode while driving and wreck the vehicle and kill herself prematurely.

After she had taken her medication, Olive went outside to wait on the stone balcony. It had steps on each side, and always reminded her of princesses and royal balls. She placed her elbow onto the cool cement wall and waited for Elijah's car to pull up the long driveway. She hated having to rely on him so much. She knew it was awkward for her to keep asking favors of him, but in truth she just wanted to see him. She had broken his heart and trust, and she knew it, but if only he could know why. She didn't want him to hurt more later, when she was gone for good. It was better this way.

Elijah was up early, as he normally was. He was sitting on his bed, working on his blog post for the day. He'd been working on it for at least a couple of hours. His house was silent, as it usually was. Ever since they'd gotten away from his father, the Nyharts' home wasn't nearly as cheerful as it had once been. Something that Elijah truly missed. As his fingers moved expertly across the keyboard, a light caught his attention. He stopped what he was doing and then picked up his phone. His eyes skimmed the two messages, a small smile gracing his features. They were from Belle, his closest friend.

Message:: Breakfast at my house. Waffles, Eggs, and Bacon. Get it while it's hot.

And then the second Message:: Bring me a caramel frappuccino! Please and Thank you!

Elijah quickly typed up a message and then sent it. 'I think I can handle that, Belle. I'll grab you one and then I'll be there in a bit!' After having sent the message, he got up from his computer and then got dressed. When he was ready, he headed downstairs to find his mother was still gone. No doubt she was still at work. He sighed softly as he grabbed his car keys and quickly wrote her a note. When he was done with that and was heading out the door when his phone went off again. He pulled his phone out of his pocket to see that he had another message..this time from Olive.

Message::Hey, did you get the breakfast message? Can you pick me up..?

Elijah quickly wrote her back. 'I did. I'm headed out the door now. I'll swing by in a few to get you.'

He headed out to his car.

It didn't take him too awfully long to reach Olive's home. When he arrived, he sent her a message to let her know that he was there. He waited patiently for her to come out and join him. He wasn't quite sure how he was going to handle the car ride..much less the rest of summer. He still couldn't get over her..nor over how she'd broken his trust. She knew how hard it was for him to let people in but that hadn't seemed to matter to her. He supposed that it didn't matter now, at any rate. At last, she joined him and he turned his blue eyes to her. "Hey..how've you been?" He paused, allowing her to answer, not speaking again until she was silent. "I've gotta make a stop on the way. Belle wants something from Starbucks. Then we can head over to her place." he said, falling silent. He wondered if she'd thought about him at all. It had been a while since they'd seen each other.

She looked beautiful, as always. He doubted that she could ever not look that way. He tore his gaze from her as he pulled out of the driveway, slowly making his way to Starbucks. He was rather silent for most of the drive. He didn't know what to say to her. It was just so..awkward with her now. Before, he'd been able to talk to her about anything. The only thing that she'd not known about him was his blogging, but then..not many knew about that. They arrived at Starbucks and Elijah went through the drive thru. He asked Olive if she wanted anything before ordering. They got their order and he then proceeded to head towards Belle's house.

The drive seemed to take longer than he remembered. Perhaps that was because Olive was with him. Even though he was still upset with her, all he found himself wanting to do was take her in hi s arms once again. Finally, they arrived at Belle's house. He parked the car and then got out, waiting for Olive to join him. "Looks like we made it in one piece." he joked, attempting to smile at her. He motioned towards the house, letting Olive know that he would follow her in.

Breakfast at my house. Waffles, Eggs, and Bacon. Get it while it's hot. ”

Alex's Phone went off and woke him up, "Awwww, I was gonna sleep in" He chuckled and grabbed his clothes and got dressed. he threw the books aside and glanced at his phone again, 'Today's gonna be a great day. I can just feel it!' Alex combed his hair, brushed his teeth, then grabbed the bike keys. He strolled into his kitchen and left his mum a note that'd he'd be out for the day. "Damn, the bike's low on gas...."

For a quick second he stopped for gas and to text Belle
From:Alex
To:Belle
"Hey, I'm gonna be late, mind saving me alittle bacon? I don't know how long it'll be till I show up"

He clicked send, then payed. Alex put on his helmet, and started to hit the road again. A few minute later he was at Belle's house. "Damn, this place is huge!" Alex fixed his hair and jacket, he'd hate to make a single bad impression. 'She doesn't care dude' He thought to his self as he strolled in the door.

He called from the door, "Hello? I heard there's bacon, and I would never miss the offer!" He looked around, and he was clearly lost in the mansion "I uh.... I need help" He kept looking for the kitchen. He'd only been over a few times, not enough to know the layout too well. "God, this is really embarassing......" He texted Eli

To:Eli
From:Alex
"Hey, I'm lost in the house, I'm at the door. I assume you were here first so....Help, Please?"

He clicked send and slumped down aside the door

Finn rustled drowsily on his bed as he attempted to shield his eyes from the blazing light streaming from his curtains. He moved his eyes away from it and raised his arms in feeble and failed attempts to block the insurmountable gleam of light that had been bothering him for quite some time now. He let out a low groan as a pounding in his head settled and intensified and a particular dryness in his throat became apparent. He urged his body forward off of his bed finally, almost toppling over the empty beer bottle discarded and left obsolete on the beige stained carpet of his bedroom floor. He stumbled around his room with aches creaking in his back as he stripped the room of the blazing sunlight as wandered into his bathroom. He let his fingers linger on the light switch before finally clicking it on. He let out a annoyed and impatient groan as he filled the glass cup with water and took a few sips. He lunged forward towards the glass cabinet and lurched it open, grabbing the usual bottle of pills he took. He took two out and quietly swallowed them down with the water as the pounding in his head surpassed and the dryness in his throat became vacant. He strode back into his bedroom pushing the empty bottles under his bed and grabbing his cellphone to check for messages. He turned it on, the first message showing up being from Belle.

Belle <3: Breakfast at my house. Waffles, Eggs, and Bacon. Get it while it's hot.

Finn licked his lips slowly, he could use some greasy food. He quickly let his thumbs move across the screen of his Iphone as he responded

To: Belle <3
From: Finn
On my way ill get there as fast as i can. might be late.

*************************************************************************************************************************

Finn quietly scribbled a lopsided note to Makayla notifying her that he'd be gone in the morning and she was most likely alone as his mother had already gone off to work. Finn let out a low hiss as he remembered that his car was at his fathers, which most likely meant that he was going to have to take the bus and walk the rest of the way. He shook his head as exited the house and started making his way to the bus station.

Belle finished making breakfast and she got a confirmation text from Eli saying that he will bring her breakfast. She finished making the food and she set out plates for everyone. One by one everyone arrived at her house clearly looking for the hostess when she felt everyone was here she made her entrance. But before anyone could see her she of course was tackled by Bear. She laughed and giggled and pushed the dog off. "Hey Bear. Take me to my friends." the dog barked in response and she found them.

"Yay! Everyone is here!" She said looking at all of her friends. She turned to Elijah. "Yay! My coffee!" she dashed over to him and took the cup. She kissed his cheek, in a friendly nature, and then sipped her frappuccino. She smiled in delight. She then went around hugging the rest of her friends, Alex was last. She hugged him a bit longer too, but it wasn't that noticeable. She then started walking toward the kitchen. "Food is ready. So just dig in," she said gesturing everyone to follow her.

Quickly she realized that Finn has yet to arrive. So before people could devour all of the food, she got a plate ready for him.

To: Finn
From: Belle <3
The whole gang is here and I saved you a plate!

The message sent and she sat on the kitchen counter allowing her friends to devour the food that she had laid out for them.

Finn grumbled fidgeting with the ends of his sleeves to create the facade of looking busy as the other civilians immersed themselves in conversations with one another. Finn always hated taking the bus, he hated when he forgot his keys at a one of his parents homes, hated cold coffee, hated hangovers and especially hated early mornings on the bus in the summer where everyone was talking in a manner much too obnoxious and loud for Finn's liking. Solemnly flipping his phone on, he searched for any new messages, a bright smile errupting on his face when he spotted a unopened one from Belle.

To: Finn
From: Belle <3
The whole gang is here and I saved you a plate!

Finn's finger snapped into motion as he started to write a reply

To: Belle <3
From: Finn
thank you. for your saintly behaviour i think ill manage to be there in about ten minutes. stuck taking the bus. i think I'm almost at my stop...

Finn quickly pressed send, when he heard the doors of the bus fly open and a man and woman enter aboard. He looked out realizing that this was the stop by Belle's house, he gently pressed himself off his seat as he strode outside. He let out a small smile as he rubbed his eyes, averting them from directly looking at the sun as he began to trek forward. The walk wasn't quite so far opposed to some of the other bus stops but it wasn't quite the closest distance either. He brushed his fingers through his hair as he finally reached his destination. He often forgot how large Belle's house was at times. He had a tendency to considered her quite rich at times even if she might occasionally argue otherwise. He let out a small grin as he stopped admiring the house and let himself in. If it had been anyone besides Belle, he most likely would have wasted a minute or two knocking at the door but he had reached a certain ring of familiarity with her as he strode carelessly into her house. The front entrance looked as neat and pleasant as ever, neither of his houses deserved any awards for cleanliness. Finn was shaken out of his train of thoughts as heard barking not coming from too far away, he should have assumed bear would be coming with Daisy. Finn began to follow the sound of mindless chatter and laughter as he half-heartedly hoped that the food hadn't gotten cold yet.

Olive looked up from her phone as Eli pulled into the drive. She hesitated for a moment, admiring the car and preparing herself for another human encounter. It was no secret that she had been pulling away from her friends lately. Turning down this party or that invitation- though all with legitimate excuses; excuses here being lies to cover up her doctor visits. Ignoring the feeling in her gut screaming for her to say never mind and go back inside, Olive made her way to the car and slid into the passenger seat. Elijah looked to her as though he had said something as she was walking to the car. The expression on his face looked like he was hopefully waiting for an answer. "I've been good," she lied sweetly, placing a smile on her lips that she hoped he wouldn't notice was forced.

Elijah stared the car and pulled out of the drive, heading in a longer route to get to Belle's house. Olive felt her stomach churn. What if he wanted to talk to her about something? What if he had noticed something was up? Why else would he be going this way? "So, ah.. where are we going? Belle's turn was that way..." She tried to sound lighthearted. "I've gotta make a stop on the way. Belle wants something from Starbucks. Then we can head over to her place." "Mkay."

Olive turned her eyes to focus on the passing scenery. She shook her head when he offered to get her something from the chirpy 15 year old in the Starbucks window. Olive fell silent for the rest of the ride, remembering how close she and Elijah had once been. Even before they had started dating, they were the best of friends. She could recall many a day playing XBOX on his bed with him and rolling around playfully on the mattress with him when he would beat her-or when she would beat him. The fond memories were hard to swallow with him sitting right beside her, still hopelessly clueless as to why she suddenly locked her heart away. It's for the best. she weakly told herself.

They had arrived at Belle's- not a moment too soon. Olive got out of the car and desperately tried to blink the tears away. She had to stop thinking about things like that or she'd really fall apart... or worse, start thinking about dying. Elijah came around the car, looking to her with a bit of a cheesy smile. "Looks like we made it in one piece."
She softened a little, and the hint of a real smile started to show. "Thanks for coming to get me... you look nice, Elijah." She glanced away from him and went into the house. I think that's the nicest and longest thing I've said to him in person since the breakup..

"Belle?" Her response came in the form of a British greeting- not Belle, obviously, but another friendly face. Olive turned around and smiled as Bear came thundering toward her. Olive had to admit- the dog was appropriately named. The beast galloped his way over to her, bounced around her for a moment and then took off up the stairs- hunting Belle down, no doubt. He was incredibly smart for such a massive dog. When he returned he had Belle in tow. "Yay! Everyone is here!" Olive glanced around, noticing that Finn was not yet here. "Well, not everyone just yet.." "Yay! My coffee!" Belle turned her attention to Elijah who stood with her coffee in hand. For his efforts he was rewarded with a kiss on the cheek. Olive smiled a little. He deserved to be happy- with someone like Belle, maybe. Maybe they'd settle down together and have kids in a grand house like this one day.

Belle led them to the kitchen and invited everyone to start eating. Olive looked over the food, trying to think of what would be the most pleasant if it came back up later. She decided on eggs and toast in the end. She had just finished making her plate and sitting down in her seat when Finn walked in. "Finn," she said with a smile, "better late than never, hm? Did you take the bus again?" Her chattiness surprised her, but it was nice to be with her friends again. It was good seeing them all together, smiling and happy. She wished she could capture this moment and hold onto it forever... but she just didn't have forever anymore.

She was being morbid again, so she took a large bite out of her toast and focused on Belle's wonderful cooking. "You should become a chef, Belle," Olive said playfully after she had finished the tiny portion she had put on her plate. "Daisy, can bear have a piece of bacon?" Olive inquired as she held up a deliciously greasy piece of bacon. Her heart longed for the fatty treat, but she couldn't risk it. She had a strict list of 'dos' and don'ts' now.

Alex danced around the room, filled with the power of glorious bacon. "Bella, this is amazing, probably like the best ever!" He spun around her, and placed a napkin hat on her head. He finished off his second plate, than grabbed two pieces of bacon. One of which he tossed to Bear. He still spun, he'd never really been this happy, and the fact he learned Bella was a great chef too, just sent him through the roof. "So what do you all want to do today? We can go to the movies or go adventure!" He had sub-consciously reminded himself that he seemed insane, but enjoyed being crazy anyway. He went to spin and grab a last piece of bacon, but he hit a chair-leg and ended up face planting into the ground. This seemed to jolt the boy into some form of reality, and calmed himself down. 'Time to lay-off the bacon there' He thought to himself.

As he stood, he faced Bella. "So, where did you learn to cook? It was truly incredible!" He went to the couch and laid down. "That bacon was, clearly shown by me, good enough to drive someone mad." He chuckled at his horrible attempt at a joke. He began to dream while the others ate, about life free from school, forever. He smiled and realized that it would be just as great as today.

Daisy smiled warmly as she entered the room that everyone had gathered in. "Good morning!" She greeted, tucking her honey coloured curls behind her ear. When she spotted Finn, her smile broadened. She hugged him, and rested her head on his chest.  "You're late, slow poke." She teased, standing on her toes to give him  a quick kiss. Then came the guilt. It twisted inside of her, cutting her like a knife. As  3veryone sat, her smile slowly became less real. More plastic. Tell him. Tell him!
She glanced at her hands, that began to tremble. When Olive  spoke to her, she was pulled from her thoughts. "Him? Oh! Yes, of course. As if he doesn't' love you enough." She smiled kindly, running her fingers through her massive black dog. She leaned against Finn softly, resting her head on his shoulder.

She looked over at Alex, and couldn't help but let out a light bubble of laughter  as she saw how happy he was. Im  going to  do it. she decided, standing  up and holding her head high. She made her way over to Alex, and offered him a weak smile. "Can we talk?" She asked, softly his wrist into her hand. She gently tugged him through the labrynth that was Belle's house. The further she walked, the more her hands trembled. She turned to him, and felt her will fading. She had already screwed up her own life, why screw up his, too?
"I-i..." Tears welled up in her eyes, and she offered him a shaky smile. He needs to know. If he wants knowing to do with us... that's his choice.. She took in a shaky breath, and quickly let it out. "I'm pregnant with your baby." She blurted. A tear slipped out but she quickly brushed it away. She gently pressed his hand to her abdomen. She wanted to laugh at herself- the bump was so obvious now. How did she think she could keep this? "I've known for a few months. I'm so sorry. If you don't want anything to do with us, I completely understand.

Elijah had walked with Olive all the way to the house, staying rather distant from her. He just couldn't understand why she'd suddenly broken up with him. The only thing that he'd been able to come up with..was that he'd done something to greatly upset the young woman. As they walked, he tried to push the thoughts from his mind. He didn't need such things bringing him down right then. He'd no doubt that Belle would notice his mood and ask about it if he did not seem cheery when they entered.

Once inside the home, Elijah made his was to his best friend, leaving Olive. "Yay! My coffee!" She then took the drink from his hands and placed a friendly kiss upon his cheek. He smiled at her. "You'd better be glad that I like you..I wouldn't go out of my way for just anyone." he said jokingly. He fell silent, fixing himself a plate. However, he did not get more than enough to satisfy his hunger. For some reason, he was just not that hungry right then.

Once he'd gotten his plate, Elijah made his way back to Belle, standing with her. He was fairly silent, his eyes trying to find Olive. When he'd realized what he was doing, Elijah quickly turned his gaze to his closest friend. "This is amazing..truly, Belle. Remind me to get you to cook more often. So much better than what I normally have." He smiled at his friend. She knew all about his home situation though the only other person was Olive. He did not like going around and talking about how messed up his family was. He found it hard to trust anyone..that they wouldn't judge him or his mother. He hardly ever saw her anymore, she was forced to work two jobs to keep them afloat. He helped as he was able..since his website was now quite popular, he earned quite a bit just from the traffic. All of the funds he got usually went to help out with bills. He'd also taken a job at a local restaurant, Bistro 72. He was always busy, which left for little time to do things that he'd rather do.

Elijah's gaze once again fell to Olive. He sighed softly. He just as quickly turned back to Belle. "So, what's the plan for today?" he asked, forcing a smile on his face. He still had his blog to work on though he tried not to think about that. He needed to be just a normal teen even if it was only for a few hours. His blue gaze held Belle's. He was actually very glad that she'd invited him and for once he was able to come over and not worry about work or anything like that. He watched his other friends and still his eyes would linger upon Olive every now and then. He suspected that as long as he remained away from her he'd be okay. He was certain that he had a slightly pained look to his face..but at the moment he did not care.

Belle watched as her friends devoured the food that she had put out for them. She was used to cooking for herself and her father. He couldn't cook and there was no one around to cook for her. She could tell by the compliments that the food she made. But she didn't think it was that good. But she accepted the compliments. Finn finally showed up to the house and he got his plate and his hug. Then she took her spot back on the counter. She took a loud sip from her coffee, but she didn't think anyone could hear it over the chewing.

"You should become a chef, Belle," Belle giggled. "Nah. I like making food for you guys only," she said. In all honesty the job she now is the only job she cares about. Speaking of which, she has to make a drop soon. She has to wait for her friends to leave first. She took another sip of her coffee and she smiled at Bear. Even Bear liked her food.

The second person to make her laugh was Alex. He was running and spinning as if he was on drugs. But it was just her bacon. He was asking her about it and shoving pieces down his throat. "So, where did you learn to cook? It was truly incredible!" she just shrugged. "I needed food one day and then my magical cooking powers arrived." she commented. He left the kitchen to lay off the bacon. Note to self. No more bacon for Alex.

Daisy left the kitchen as well, but no one was truly worried about it, neither did Belle. She finished the coffee and threw the cup away. A sigh escaped her lips. It was sad to finish her coffee. Now Elijah had joined her in her silence. She was closer to him than any of her other friends and she never knew why. Maybe it was the fact he accepted her silence.

Silence was never an issue with him. If neither of them wanted to talk, then they didn't speak. It wasn't awkward or weird. Also maybe because they knew the truth of their families. His wasn't all that and her dad was never around. They kept each other sane to some degree. "This is amazing..truly, Belle. Remind me to get you to cook more often. So much better than what I normally have." She nodded at him. "I will always cook for you Eli, you know that. I also have the spare room ready for you. You practically live here." she said to him turning to her friend.

It was true. He was always over to get away from his family and the house was mostly empty. He was always welcome here and she was always welcome at his house. They were just that close. "So, what's the plan for today?" Belle shrugged. "I have something to do in an hour, but then I'm free." she said. "Did you want to hang later? This house will be empty most of the day." she asked him.

Finn hovered carelessly around the table attempting to place as much of the food in his polished white place as he could. Breakfast at Belle's always were lovely even when the food was cold. Finn lay his full plate down at a empty chair at the table and walked towards the kitchen counter where the coffee kettle was lying dejectedly. He let out a small laugh as he grabbed the coffee kettle and poured himself a cup when he spotted Daisy. The grin on his face broadened until he was smiling with every single one of his teeth visible, which he rarely did. Her hair was tumbling in honey glazed gentle spirals in front of her face with the sun caressing every strand. She looked lovely as always even with the darkness that was becoming apparent under her eyes. In fear of being impolite or provoking a fight he hadn't mentioned how tired she looked and how the circles under her eyes were looking darker and darker. He was worried about her but he bit it back with a smile as she called out "Good morning" to the group.

He watched as she sprung forward and wrapped her lean arms around his body and lay her head on his chest. He smiled down at her as he attempted to soak in the moment, as he lay his arms around her as well. She smelt like vanilla and as cliche as it felt to think this holding each other felt so natural and it felt as if it was where they belonged. He watched as Daisy untangled himself without a reason or explanation and walk over to Alex. He was beginning to notice more and more often how much they ran off together but he supposed he often talked to Olive and Belle alone too so it was no problem.

He sighed as he took a seat back at the table and attempted to pay attention to the conversation. "Did you want to hang later? This house will be empty most of the day." Finn heard Belle respond, he quickly jumped in before Eli or Olive could possibly respond.
"Am I not invited Belle? Is this my punishment for being late?" He asked a feigning innocence as a cheeky grin settling on his face.

Olive glanced over her shoulder in time to catch a glimpse of Daisy dragging Alex off into some other part of the house. What were those two up to all the time, sneaking off like that? Not one to judge, or jump to conclusions, Olive turned her attention to Finn instead. He was messing with the coffee pot when Elijah's voice came into the air. "This is amazing..truly, Belle. Remind me to get you to cook more often. So much better than what I normally have." Olive locked her jaw and looked down at Bear as she fed him another slab of bacon. The food wasn't that spectacular. For Christ's sake, it's hard to fuck up bacon and eggs.

Annoyed with the sudden stab of jealousy, Olive gave Bear an affectionate pat on the head. She stood and decided to cross over to the living room, but as she was walking she heard Belle's reply; "I will always cook for you Eli, you know that. I also have the spare room ready for you. You practically live here." Olive's thigh collided with one of the chairs, causing her to stumble just slightly. She quickly righted herself and let out a laugh, running a hand through her hair to try and cool the blush that bloomed in her cheeks. "I'm good," she laughed, before anyone could ask if she were alright.

"So, what's the plan for today?" Olive sat on the couch and laid out across it. Her chest was hurting, and laying down felt better than standing. "I have something to do in an hour, but then I'm free. Did you want to hang later? This house will be empty most of the day." Olive locked her jaw again, trying to beat down the green beast of jealousy. This is what she had wanted, after all- for him to be happy, not with her. She slowly closed her eyes and tried to take a deep breath. She could only get half way through before her chest started to burn. She opened her eyes and sat up, running her hand through her hair again. She had to calm down. She couldn't have an episode here.

It was Finn's voice who spoke up in answer. "Am I not invited Belle? Is this my punishment for being late?" Olive smiled a little. She could always count on Finn. She turned around on the couch to look into the kitchen and dinning room- seeing his cheeky grin. Where was Daisy? "Don't feel bad, Finn. I didn't get invited either! I guess Belle just doesn't love us anymore," she sighed dramatically and put her hand to her forehead as if fainting. "Oh, woe is me," she cried dramatically, trying to hide her grin. "Seriously though, I had heard about a bonfire at the beach tonight. I think we should go." She shifted in her seat slightly to cross her arms and place them on the back of the couch. "Elijah," she said suddenly, flashing him one of her best smiles, "Will you drive me?"

Finn turned to Olive as he peeked out through the doorway hoping to get a glimpse of Daisy but unfortunately he didn't. He hid his disappointment and the frown that had crawled onto his face with his mug as he downed another sip of his luke-warm coffee. The coffee he drank at home was the kind that you could find at a local department store and you didn't have to maintain much wealth to purchase. The quality of the liquid was seriously lacking as well, it tasted like crap but he usually just shrugged it often and hoped he would grow accustomed to the fowl taste.
"Dont feel bad Finn. I didn't get invited either! I guess Belle doesn't love us anymore," He heard Olive say taking him out of his thoughts. He looked over ready to say a quick witted response when he looked over at Olive and broke out into a low chuckle. She had her delicate fingers placed onto her forehead into and her eyes shut daintily. Her long auburn hair danced around her pale face like autumn leaves stretching over the couch as she yelped "Oh, woe is me".
"This is almost as tragic as Orpheus" He said pausing for dramatic effect before leaving his coffee cup unfinished on the table and running over jumping beside Olive, tackling her slightly as he relaxed, making himself comfortable next to her on the couch. He looked over as Olive began to speak once more. "Seriously though, I heard about a bonfire at the beach tonight. I think we should go". Finn always had loved bonfires, he loved the smell of smoke and how everything seemed almost seemed slightly serene.
Elijah, will you drive me? he bit the inside of his mouth from resisting to let out a large obnoxious smile. Olive was looking at Eli with her eye's wide and eager. He never quite understood why they broke up. He wasn't sure if he was imagining it or not but it still appeared as if they were close and hung up on each other. He couldn't possibly understand why they didn't just get back together. The way Olive looked at Eli was the same way Daisy previously looked at him when they had begun dating. But those adoring and loving looks had gone from constant to occasional to rare. Sometimes he felt as if she was drifting farther and farther from him and it bothered him. He looked over at Olive, Eli and Belle again as he lounged against the couch kicking his feet up onto Olive's lap and sent Belle a small knowing smirk as he attempted to gesture toward Eli and Olive.

Alex stared at Daisy for a few seconds, then back at her. "So wait, You're pregnant?" He was afraid, he could barely keep him self alive, yet alone care for a kid, but it was his. "And I'd never leave you alone, so don't worry." He gave her a quick kiss on her forehead. "Me and you can talk and sort this out later, but let's head back before it's too suspicious ok?" Alex was trying to stay strong and calm for Daisy, but he was scared shitless. Did he ruin her life? Would this ruin the group? But most of all he had to think and feel guilty, about Finn. They weren't the closest two, but he was still a good friend and it hurt to not tell him.

He walked back into the room, and joined the conversation over by Finn, noticing the gesture from him to Belle. "If you're going to ask Eli for everything Olive, you mine as well hire him as a butler. Eli you wouldn't argue that would you?" Alex let a wild grin, he was sure the others knew what he really meant. It was clear both parties still had feelings there, and was curios as why the two split off. He went for more bacon, but noticed the empty plate. He settled for a cup of 'I don't think this even counts as warm' Coffee. "Guys, just for self conscious reason, did I eat most of that bacon?" He gave an apologizing glance to Belle. He looked for a couch spot but since it all seemed empty, he settled for lying on the floor. "Wow this carpet so soft, It feels better than my bed!" He was trying to act comical to relieve some of is new found stress. The only thing he could think of was to act insane until he calmed down.

Daisy let out a deep breath when Alex said he would never leave her. Her halfhearted smile became more steady, more real. His calmness was so comforting, even though she knew he was probably freaking out inside. But all that really mattered was him not leaving. If he left them... she wouldn't know what to do.
His kiss on her forehead warmed her, and she paused for a moment to soak it in. With a very light sigh, she nodded. They had to her back to the others, before one of them got curious and decided to look for them. Or started to suspect. She paused, taking him in for just one more moment, before she squared her shoulders and started back to the others.

Daisy tucked a lock of golden curls behind her ear as she returned to Finn's side. The guilt weighed on her like a ton of bricks. He was so good to her. How could she do this to him? She felt like crying again.
She glanced up, and studied his face. He was handsome, and just looking at him still gave her butterflies. He had the most stunning eyes, just a shade lighter than Alex's rich, ocean blue ones. He deserves so much better. She thought, wrapping her arms around him and burying her face in his chest. She could hear his heart beating, and it calmed her.
Resting her chin on his rest, she gazed up at him. "I love you." She murmured honestly, soft enough that he was the only one to hear it. She had said it before, and she meant it. She loved him.
Her golden amber eyes flicked over to Alex. Like when she saw Finn, her heart swelled. She loved him, too. His laugh was like music, and just him looking over at her was enough to kill her. She had no idea how were they going to do.
How was it even possible to love two people so much? When they were in the same room, her heart felt like it was about to burst. She held Finn a little bit closer, careful not to hold him uncomfortably tightly. She looked back up at him. How much longer did she have with him?

Before he was even able to reply to Belle, a few of the others piped up about not being invited. Elijah smiled, listening to what everyone was saying. After a few moments of this, Olive spoke to him. "Elijah, will you drive me?" His blue eyes turned to her. He could never say no to her. Never. He smiled at her. "Of course I will drive you, Olive." he said. She should know by now that she needn't even ask. He would do anything for her. His eyes quickly turned to Alex, as the young man spoke. "If you're going to ask Eli for everything Olive, you mine as well hire him as a butler. Eli you wouldn't argue that would you?" His friend was smiling which in turn caused Elijah to smile as well. "Of course not. Though, you'd have to let me work around my schedule at the bistro." he said, laughing. "But..I don't mind helping you out."

He fell silent for a moment before turning back to Belle. "I think the bonfire sounds like fun. It's been forever since we've all done something like that." He did still have a few things to do but he already knew that it wouldn't take him long to do. He was actually fairly excited about doing something that he normally didn't do. Normally, he worked nights but since summer had started they were gonna start working him different shifts at the bistro. He was glad. This way, he'd have a bit of a different schedule. He still had a smile on his face, something that he normally didn't do.

Suddenly, he felt his phone go off. He pulled it out of his pocket and checked it. It was only a few updates, reader comments, on his website. He quickly looked through them before putting his phone back in his pocket. His gaze turned back to Olive for a short moment before he turned his attention back to his best friend, grinning at her. "You know..I do have the next couple of days off and Mom's working like crazy..I might stay over..if that's okay with you? I'd just need to swing by home to get a few things."

Elijah couldn't even answer Belle's question before being interrupted by Finn. "Am I not invited Belle? Is this my punishment for being late?" She had a wonderful response for that, but Olive cut in before anything could be said. "Don't feel bad, Finn. I didn't get invited either! I guess Belle just doesn't love us anymore," Belle held her hand up to show she had something to say. "First off, Finn you would love any punishment I gave to you," she said flirtatiously. She always flirted with Finn. He accepted it and it was clearly playful. They didn't have feelings for each other and it made it fun for the both of them. She flirted with the others as well, but not as much as she did with Finn.

"And second Eli was the only one who asked me how I was this morning. So this is everyone's punishment," she added in. It was silent a bit until Olive brought up the bonfire and asked Eli for a ride. She always asked him a ride. No one knew why he was just her go to guy. "If you're going to ask Eli for everything Olive, you mine as well hire him as a butler. Eli you wouldn't argue that would you?" Just then Alex spoke up. "Of course not. Though, you'd have to let me work around my schedule at the bistro. But..I don't mind helping you out." Elijah said in response. Belle laughed. "Any taxi money automatically goes to me anyway," she said with a shrug.

"I think the bonfire sounds like fun. It's been forever since we've all done something like that. Elijah said to her. Belle thought for a moment. "It's not a terrible idea. And I do have a thing for s'mores." After a few more silent moments of pretend thinking she eagerly agreed. Belle was always eager to do things with her friends, but she like just hanging out with Eli as well.

"You know..I do have the next couple of days off and Mom's working like crazy..I might stay over..if that's okay with you? I'd just need to swing by home to get a few things." Belle's smile grew wide. Her prayers were answered. "Of course its okay!" she said a bit too eager. "Yay sleepover!" she said clapping.

Belle checked a text message she got on her phone and sighed. She was late. 'Dammit' Luckily they didn't know where she lived or they would come and attack her. "Alright as much as I love most of you I have somewhere to be." She looked about the room. "Today I put Alex on dish duty, but the rest of you guys have to leave," she said smiling at Alex, but giving playful frowns to the rest of them.

Olive smiled down at Finn as he propped his feet into her lap, gently resting her hands on his ankles while Belle and Elijah mauled over going to the bonfire. "If you're going to ask Eli for everything Olive, you mine as well hire him as a butler. Eli you wouldn't argue that would you?" Olive looked over to Alex wide-eyed and gasped, laughing at the grin on his face. "But Elijah is so much more than a butler," she replied without missing a beat grinning over to Eli. "Of course not. Though, you'd have to let me work around my schedule at the bistro. But..I don't mind helping you out." "That's why I.." Olive trailed off. She didn't dare say 'that's why I love you so much', because that would just hurt both of them. "Keep you around," she finished gently, with only half the amount of playfulness she had previously. Luckily, Belle piped up to take the attention away. It was while Belle was speaking that Olive's lap was jostled by Daisy nearly throwing herself onto Finn.

Elijah said something to the effect of agreeing to go, but Olive was busy messing with Daisy. "Hey, easy there love birds," she chuckled. When she tuned back into the conversation, she heard Eli say "...I might stay over..if that's okay with you? I'd just need to swing by home to get a few things." Olive bit down, hard. It was normal. Totally normal. She had slept over at Alex's and Finn's house before. Plenty of times, actually. It's just what they did. They were all friends. "Alright as much as I love most of you I have somewhere to be. Today I put Alex on dish duty, but the rest of you guys have to leave," Belle chirped. Olive raised a brow but decided to say nothing instead. Gently, she moved Finn's feet away from her lap and stood. "Tough luck, Alex," Olive said playfully, casting a smile over toward him regarding the dishes he would have to do.

Olive looked to Elijah, who was her ride... well, everywhere really. "Guess we should get going then, Eli," she said with a shrug. "Do you think we could stop by my ballet studio on the way back to my place? I need to pick up my bag from my locker," she added as she pulled her hair to one side and looked up at him innocently. She offered him a shy smile, then turned back to Daisy and the boys. "So are you three coming to the bonfire, then? Everyone will just meet Eli and I there?" She glanced around everyone for conformation and then made her rounds giving everyone gentle hug- everyone but Elijah, that is. As she came to him she hesitated and blushed. "Well, I guess I'm technically going with you, so... no real reason to say goodbye." Olive turned to the others and smiled. "See you all tonight, then!" With that, she'd wait for Elijah to say his goodbyes and then follow him to the car when he was ready to leave.
