Weight:
118 lbs.

Eye Color:
Hazel

Hair Color:
Strawberry Blonde

Scars/Tattoos/Piercings:
Charlotte is left with a birthmark indicating where/how she was killed in her previous life. Currently, she has two birthmarks. They are on her stomach and her lower back, where she was impaled after falling and died in her last life. The birthmarks are irregular shapes about two inches across and are red, which contrasts greatly with her fair skin. She has her ears pierced, but she doesn't always wear earrings. She wants to get a tattoo in the future, as her parents won't let her before she turns 18.

Physical Description:
Charlotte has a rather unintimidating appearance. With her petite stature and lean frame, she really doesn't pose a physical threat to anyone. Her large, hazel eyes add to her innocent look. She is happy with her strawberry blonde hair, as it gives her a feature that very few others have. Her hair is wavy and goes to just below her waist. She almost never puts it up, even if it's whipping around her in the wind. She has bangs which frame her face. She doesn't give much thought to her birthmarks, but she does like to have them remain covered. She rarely wears a bikini, opting for a one piece or tankini when swimming.

Charlotte is somewhat girly and likes to look cute. She has no shortage of skirts and dresses, blouses and cardigans, or pants and shorts. She loves to look stylish and cute while also maintaining comfort. As such, you won't see her walking around in platform heels. The highest heel she owns is 3". She has no problem walking in heels, but doesn't wear them everyday. While she does like to look preppy, she can be seen in more casual clothing. Charlotte likes to wear jeans and blouses when she just isn't feeling up to wearing a skirt or dress. She rarely wears T-shirts unless she is just lounging around her house. She is particularly fond of floral designs and likes to accessorize with flower hair clips, head bands, or belts. She is also fond of accessorizing with necklaces, bracelets, and bags.

Strengths:
Intelligence | Charlotte is naturally intelligent. She is a straight A student and a good problem solver. Her intelligence is one of the things she prides herself on.
Animals | She likes animals and they like her. She can usually calm an animal down and most aren't afraid to approach her.
Empathetic | She's good at reading others' emotions, which comes from living many, many lives.
Wealthy Family | Coming from a wealthy family and being an only child, it isn't hard for Charlotte to get what she wants in a material sense.
Drawing | Charlotte is artistically talented, especially with drawing. Her sketches look like works of art themselves.

Weaknesses:
Cursed | She's cursed to die every 16 years, though she is unaware of this. She only begins to remember her previous lives the closer she gets to her death, which she merely discredits as odd dreams or is genuinely confused by.
Mortal Human | Not only is she mortal, but she's just a plain human. She has no magical abilities nor any supernatural related abilities.
Strength | She is not very physically strong. Sometimes she surprises herself by what she can carry, but she definitely won't be winning any arm wrestling matches or fist fights.
Common Sense | Despite being very intelligent, she sometimes lacks common sense. She's put things in the microwave that definitely should not go in there.
Cooking | Charlotte cannot and has never been able to cook. Honestly, if her life depended on it she would probably die. Her cooking abilities are limited to very basic things like microwaving premade food, making toast, and making noodles. Lucky for her, her mother or the family's private chef make most of her meals. There's also the great invention that is restaurants.

Abilities:
Singing | Charlotte has a beautiful singing voice, which she has further trained through vocal lessons.
Flexible | She took dance classes up until high school and is quite flexible. She's also quite light on her feet and still able to dance fairly well.
Drawing | Since she is such a strong drawer, Charlotte can often draw things from memory. Sometimes she will draw images from her dreams. She keeps a box of these images in her closet.

Oddities:
Fear of Heights | While this is a very widespread fear among humans, her fear stems from the way she last died. Her fears change in accordance with how she last died. Since her last death was caused from falling and being impaled, she is afraid of heights.
Lack of Smell | Charlotte lost her sense of smell after her 27th life. It might have been a side effect of the curse, or it could have just randomly happened. Either way, she was born without a sense of smell. So if something is on fire but she doesn't see it, please tell her.
Dreams, Flashbacks, and Deja Vu| The closer she gets to her death, the more dreams and flashbacks she experiences from previous lives. She often discredits these as strange dreams, but she is bewildered and confused by some of the flashbacks she has. She also commonly experiences deja vu, but knows that everyone experiences it and doesn't think about it unless it's associated with something very peculiar.

Personality:
Though certain aspects of her personality change depending on her reincarnation, Charlotte is essentially the same person in each life. She is kind and caring, happy to help others or console them. She is naturally intelligent, stemming from hundreds of years of living, though she is unaware of that fact. She takes pride in this intelligence, performing well academically. Despite her academic excellence, she sometimes lacks common sense. What seems obvious to others can be a puzzle to her. This can cause some pretty embarrassing moments, but she just laughs them off. She won't let one bad moment get her down.

Charlotte is very social, enjoying the company of others. She is a bubbly person, always the one to cheer a friend up when they're down. She somehow manages to be mature and childish at the same time. She can be very serious one minute and giggling the next. She's unafraid to talk to strangers, but she's smart about it. She enjoys humor and can be sarcastic. However, her sarcasm is always lighthearted. The only things that cause her mood to drastically change are bad situations involving her family, friends, or animals. She loves animals and seems to have a connection with them, though she isn't sure why this is. She dreams of helping animals in the future. Charlotte doesn't believe in using violence unless absolutely necessary. She thinks that talking things through and understanding both sides of a story is a better approach.

Family:
Current Life:
John Newcastle | Father | 46 | Human
Heidi Newcastle | Mother | 47 | Human

First Life:
Julian Solomon | Husband | 921 | Vampire
Liam Solomon | Son | 904 | Kitsune
Astrid Solomon | Daughter | 904 | Vampire

History:
Current Life:
Charlotte is the only child of John and Heidi Newcastle. They have always adored her, considering her their miracle child after Heidi was told she had a very low chance of conceiving. John is a doctor and Heidi was a nurse before she became a stay at home mom. The family was well off, living in a large home in a nice neighbourhood. Her parents try not to spoil her, but they don't put up much of a fight if she asks for something. The family is happy together and have had very few problems since Charlotte was born.

She remembers her childhood fondly, playing outside with the other kids and being tucked in at night by her mother. While she loves both of her parents, she is closer to her mother since Heidi was the one who stayed home with her. After Charlotte turned 15, her mother began to reintegrate herself into the hospital setting. She believes that her daughter can handle herself now and isn't in need of constant supervision.

Currently, Charlotte is attending a public high school. She is a straight A student, being naturally intelligent. She wishes to attend college after she graduates, but isn't sure what she wants to do. She knows she doesn't want to become a doctor or a nurse like her parents though. Due to her love of animals, she's considered being a veterinarian or a zoo keeper. For now, she is content to go to school, hang out with her friends, and go on walks through the city. She dreams of finding love, but so far hasn't found it. She's had crushes on guys, but it never feels like they're the right one for her.

First Life:
In her first life, Charlotte was born to John and Elisabeth Blair. She was their fourth daughter and sixth child. The family lived in the small kingdom which Julian's family ruled over. They weren't royalty themselves, but they weren't peasants either. John was a freeman, and often tended to business matters while his wife stayed home to care for the five children who had lived beyond infantry. Growing up, Charlotte was happy and enjoyed playing with her siblings. She didn't leave her family's property much, only occasionally accompanying her mother or eldest sister to the marketplace to buy food.

Once Charlotte was about ten, she began to travel into the town more and more. She met many people from many backgrounds, enjoying learning about who they were and where they came from. If she saw anyone who needed help, she'd offer to what she could to help them. She was raised to be kind and often put this into practice, learning patience as well from growing up with four siblings. When she was 10, she saw Julian for the first time. She thought he was quite cute, but believed she would never speak to him in her life. After all what would the prince want with some middle class girl? She soon learned of the prince's womanizing tendencies. Charlotte concluded that any of these girls must be trying to win the Prince's favour in the hope of marrying him. She thought this was foolish behavior. If the Prince had broken so many hearts, what would possibly make him stop his ways?

She would soon find out that it would be her who would halt Julian's womanizing. The two met again by chance and despite their age difference Julian attempted to charm her. However, Charlotte saw through this and ignored his advances. He continued trying, eventually winning her over when she saw that he wasn't just a pretty playboy. She truly loved him for who he was-- a passionate and chivalrous young man. Yes, he was the Prince but to her, he was just another young man.

The two married and Charlotte conceived twins. She gave birth to Astrid and Liam and the family was happy together. She did her best to care for her children, despite being almost a child herself. She loved her family very much and thought that they all would live happily together. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case. Unbeknownst to her, Julian had broken the heart of a young witch named Haven. After hearing of about the happy little family, Haven appeared and killed Charlotte before cursing her family.

Since then, Charlotte has been reincarnated as many different girls. However, her name has always remained the same. Her appearance changes based on who she is born to and her personality can shift based on where she grew up. However, she is still fundamentally the intelligent, kind young woman that Julian fell in love with. Every 16 years, she is killed though under the guise of a random murder or an accident. She is born to another family and retains no memories of her previous life/lives, though how she died in her last life can cause a birthmark on her body and give her a fear of whatever killed her. As she grows up, she will have dreams related to her other lives and sometimes flashbacks. She very often experiences deja vu. As she draws closer to her death, she remembers bits of her past lives. In the moments before she dies, she fully remembers her first life.

"We all have scars from our past. But they usually aren't visible. But in her case..."

The girl ran up the steps in the vacant building, her breathing heavy, eyes wide. She was scared, her heart hammering in her chest. She didn't understand what was going on, or who was after her. She turned a corner, and met eyes with a tall, rather handsome figure above her. What she noticed most were his eyes. One blue, one golden. They were beautiful.

She remembered him as a baby, when he was born. The memory brought tears to her eyes. "Why? Why are you doing this, Liam?"

There was no answer to her question, only a step forward. So she ran. She found herself on the roof and clutched at her chest, her eyes terrified. She looked around, but saw only the empty darkness of the ground beneath her. She spun around when she heard him. Liam still didn't say a word, but only advanced. The last thing she could remember was a shove, and then she was falling.

The impact left her hanging from a rod, the sharp piece of metal entering her back and protruding from her stomach. Her eyes were wide with fear and a small trickle of blood trailed from her mouth. Liam looked down at her, nothing showing in his eyes.

Charlotte was dead once more.

Astrid sighed, brushing her hair behind her ears. Her ice blue eyes skimmed over the same paragraph for the fifth time. She couldn't concentrate, not when it was so close. In a year, the cycle would repeat itself and start all over. Her mother would die again, and her father would sink deeper into his depression. She hated seeing him that way, and nothing she had done over the last nine hundred years seemed to change that.

And then, two hundred years ago, her twin brother Liam had disappeared, too. It was bad enough that he had left. What made it worse was that he was helping her. Haven Blackthorn, the very woman who had started this entire mess. In truth, Astrid just wanted to go back to being a princess, when things were easy and she understood what was expected of her.

She sighed again with a scowl, snapping the book shut and angrily setting it down at the table. With a frown, she glanced over at her father. "Father, what do you want for dinner?"

Charlotte finished the last of her spaghetti and looked to her mother. "Can I sleep over at Sabrina's house tonight?" she asked, hopeful that her mother would say yes. The teen was planning on going with her friend to shop for the upcoming Mardi Gras celebrations. She had already bought a dress but was in need of a mask. Given that Sabrina lived in the French Quarter, a sleepover was the perfect excuse to get out. Charlotte knew that her parents weren't planning on attending the parade this year, opting for a night in of relaxing. She still had plans to go, but with a group of friends of course.

Heidi glanced at her husband before answering, "Alright, I'll take you over to her house after I'm finished eating." The teen thanked her mother and dismissed herself. A few minutes later her bag of clothes and backpack were by the door.

***

Charlotte hugged her mother before grabbing her bags from the trunk of their SUV. "Thanks mom, I love you!" She then walked up to Sabrina's front door, which was promptly opened by her blue haired friend. Charlotte waved to her mother before disappearing inside.

Once the girls were in Sabrina's room, Charlotte asked what their plan of attack was for the night. Sabrina shrugged. "We'll just go with the flow. We'll make our way around to all the shops I know that sell masks. Trust me, we'll find you something awesome." She grinned. She walked over to her dresser and held her own mask up to her face. "You like it?" Charlotte opened her mouth to respond, but Sabrina cut in. "Of course you do, it's great, isn't it? C'mon, let's go find you something as cool as this." The two girls descended the stairs fro the attic bedroom and left the house.

Charlotte was thankful that Sabrina could drive. Personally, she had meant to learn when she turned 15 but just never did. There was always something else occupying her time. Sabrina pulled the car out of its spot and the two girls were off to find a mask. "Do you mind if we stop somewhere for me to get something to eat?" Sabrina asked, glancing at her friend. "My mom tried to make chicken of some sort and it did not go well."

"Yeah, that's fine," Charlotte replied. She chuckled. "So basically your mom has the same cooking skills as me, huh?" Both girls started laughing, though they knew the strawberry blonde was definitely the worse cook between the two. They continued to chat as Sabrina drove to her favourite cafe, intent on getting something that wasn't burnt beyond recognition.

Haven rolled the plastic beads in between her long fingers, gold eyes flitting between the parade displays. This city had quite the bustling nightlife, and with Mardi Gras only a day away, it had already begun to send out small displays. Sighing, the witch walked away from the winding celebration, stepping inside a quiet apartment building. She entered the elevator, checking the time on the number pad.She pressed the button that would take her to the eighteenth floor. She had business to take care of.

Entering the second room on the left, Haven struggled to adjust to the dim room. It stunk of fish and sulfur- the witch had no idea how he hadn't been evicted yet. She stepped forward, scanning the room, and froze as cold metal touched her neck.

"Not almighty, are we, Blackwood?" a hissing voice sounded behind her, the fish smell growing stronger along with the pungent stench of cigarette smoke. She rolled her gold eyes, turning the man's knife into dust before walking farther into the room. "I really hate what you've done with the place. And I go by Blackthorn now. Business reasons. You have it?" He scowled, his piercing reptilian eyes pulling away from her gold ones as he shuffled farther into the room. "Of course I have it, Miss Blackthorn. Or is it Mrs? I know how fast you move."

It was the witch's turn to scowl angrily as the reptilian alchemist pulled three decanters out from a kitchen cabinet. "I am remaining on my own for now. Besides, you'd just murder my spouse like you did last time. These are the right ones?" Haven finished, the inquiry trailing off as he nodded. "Paralysis, Healing, and my special. And really, the Duchess needed to go. Too snobby for my liking."

Haven rolled her eyes, summoning some of the money that this country used and depositing it in the scaly man's outstreched hand. "Until next year, milady." He said mockingly, disappearing through a door. Taking that as her cue to leave, Haven exited the room and blinked against the harsh sunlight. The alchemist might be a disgusting, wretched reptile, but his potions were some of the best and he was trustworthy.

Exiting out into the busy street, Haven watched as cars passed. She changed the decanters into gilded keys, hanging them along with many other keys that held dangerous substances and weapons. She started walking down the street, slowly adjusting her features into an average, not-suspicious citizen.

"Oh, this should be fun, my precious little princess," Julian teased, resisting the urge to pinch his daughter's cheek in the embarrassing way that only parents could get away with when it came to their children. He grinned at her and his hair turned golden once again, content to spend the evening with his daughter as he put his dark thoughts away for a single night.

Julian smiled slightly as he dug into his third cinnamon roll of the night. He always had a rather large sweet tooth, even as a human, and as a vampire, he could afford to indulge in it fully without it ruining his physique. He did not know how it was possible, but he did not question it. Instead, he chose to enjoy himself and pretend for a single night that his life was not a tragedy.

Of course, she had to walk in at that very moment. He'd recognize her anywhere: hazel eyes, silky strawberry blonde hair that fell down to her waist, and, of course, an innocent expression that never failed to make his undead heart race. He hardly noticed the other girl walking in with her as captured by her appearance as he was.

"Charlotte..." His mind rang.

She looked to be almost sixteen, the age where the curse decreed that she must die. His heart almost broke at the thought of her slipping through his hands yet again to suffer, die, and be reborn again and again. He couldn't let that happen. Not this time. Now stood up and, as he passed them by, he greeted her with a smile.

"I know you from somewhere, do I not?"

It was word-for-word the greeting he conveyed to her when they met a second time in their original lives. Hopefully, that would stir a memory within her soul.

Charlotte held the door open for her friend after they arrived at the cafe. Following behind her, she glanced around at the patrons. There were quite a few tonight. "You can sit if you want, it looks like this might take longer than usual," Sabrina told her as she moved to get into line. Charlotte shrugged. She didn't need to sit, but she did feel awkward just standing in the middle of the cafe. She started to follow Sabrina when she was suddenly stopped by a young man.

Charlotte looked up at him as he spoke to her. "I know you from somewhere, do I not?" he asked her. The teenager had one of her all too common deja vu moments at this point. This man seemed awfully familiar, but she had no recollection of ever meeting him before. Yet she felt that he was a long time friend. How odd. She wished she could understand why she always had these weird experiences with people, but she figured it would go away at some point. She smiled at the young man, who was not unhandsome.

"I don't think so," she told him kindly, not wanting to hurt his feelings. It was possible he'd seen her around town, but other than that she couldn't think of any reason they'd be connected. "But maybe we've met before and I just don't remember. That seems to happen to me sometimes." She wasn't sure why she had added the last part, but it wouldn't do any harm to mention it. Maybe he'd experienced the same thing? Or maybe he was just a stranger who had confused her with someone else. It was a large city, so that was always possible.

As she examined the young man, waiting for his response, a strange thought came to her. She thought of seeing this young man, many years ago, as he walked down a street surrounded by admiring women. As quickly as the memory came, it soon went. Charlotte was left utterly puzzled, wondering what she'd just thought about. It only added confusion to this situation.

"But maybe we've met before and I just don't remember. That seems to happen to me sometimes."

Julian could not help but smile sadly at her words. She was definitely Charlotte. In her previous lifetimes, she often told him that she experienced deja vu, particularly as her sixteenth birthday neared and her death was imminent. He could not help but gaze upon her. Most husbands were fortunate enough to only experience their wives dying in their arms once. Julian had to deal with it every sixteen years if he was lucky enough to find her before the curse killed her.

It's a lot more common than you would think. Tell me, do you have nightmares?" he asked. There had to be a way to protect her. She was right there and he had sharpened his skills since the decades he last saw her. If he could figure out how Haven planned to kill her or if he could find the cursed witch herself then maybe he could prevent it. As he pondered on this, his hair darkened to match his mood, but he paid it no mind.

"Do you attend Mardi Gras by any chance?" he asked curiously. Charlotte always did love the chance to be among crowds of happy people. He doubted that had changed, but then again, she might have been reborn in a more reserved family.

The young man looked at Charlotte with an expression she could only describe as longing and a hint of sadness. She wasn't sure why this was. Perhaps she reminded him of someone? He reassured her that the deja-vu feeling she mentioned happened to others. She doubted the other experienced it as much as she had in her lifetime, but there was no use in making it a big deal.

She thought it was strange when he asked if she often had nightmares. It wasn't something strangers typically asked her, but she saw no harm in answering. "Yes, I do," she responded. "But it's a lot more common than you would think." She laughed and smiled up at the stranger, hoping he would get her joke.

As she looked up up with him with her large, hazel eyes, she noticed his hair turn from blonde to black. She blinked a few times, but it was definitely still black. Was it possible for hair to just change colour like that? Before Charlotte had the chance to ask, Julian asked her another question pertaining to Mardi Gras.

She forgot about his colour changing hair as she nodded excitedly. "Yes, of course! It'll be great to dress up, wear a mask, and watch the parade." The teenager could hardly contain her excitement. She'd gone to the Mardi Gras celebrations before as a young child, but in more recent years her parents had not taken her. They'd only agreed to let her go out this year because she was now sixteen and would be going with friends. Before she knew what she was saying, she asked, "Will you be going to Mardi Gras?" She asked this because it was the polite thing to do, but also because something had compelled her to. For reasons unknown to her, she had a genuine interest in who this man was and if he'd be attending the upcoming celebrations. "Oh! I'm Charlotte by the way. It's nice to meet you," she said, extending her hand to Julian.

"I am Julian," he told her, taking her hand in his. It had been so long since he touched her hand. People took the smallest things for granted. If he could only hold her in his arms again... But no, she did not remember. She never did, until it was too late. Still, there was hope. Her memories may be gone, but her spirit was the same. Silently, he vowed he would not allow her to die this time.

"I believe I will be attending Mardi Gras too,"
he told her with a slight grin, his hair turning golden once more and his fangs showing for just a moment in his excitement, "I would be honored if you would meet with me that night. My... Sister would love to meet you."
It was times like this that the gift of immortality was a mixed blessing. His daughter looked barely a decade younger than him if that. However, that could be a good thing. It made him look less like a perverted old man hitting on a teenager.

Charlotte noted Julian's antiquated way of speaking, but didn't think much of it. Perhaps he just liked to speak like that.speak like that. She hardly noticed that his hair had changed colours again, as she was busy thinking about how much fun tomorrow would be. Julian seemed like a nice young man and she was sure his sister was probably nice too. Just why his sister wanted to meet her was a question though.

She opened her mouth to speak when she had one of her flashbacks, though to her it was an intrusion of strange images to her mind. Her hazel eyes glazed over, as she wasn't focusing on the real world right now. She briefly recalled being a large room. She was surrounded by others, but they were nothing more than shadowy figures. A lone figure was walking through the crowd, approaching her. He was familiar, but his face was obscured. Just as quickly as the image came to mind, it left.

The teenager looked up at Julian, trying to recall what they'd been talking about. Oh yes, Mardi Gras! "Where should I meet you and your sister? My friends and I are staying around here so we can see the parades and get something to eat."
On any normal occasion, Charlotte wouldn't have so openly accepted an invitation to meet up from someone she'd just met. But he seemed friendly and something about him told her that he could be trusted.

Julian smiled at her response, happy that she had accepted his invitation. He did not know where he would go from here. She had to find out about her past life eventually. But he would just be happy to spend time with her as much he could.

"Do you know of the old French Quarter? There's an excellent cajun place there. We can meet up there.
Charlotte nodded. "What's the name of this place?"
she asked. Growing up in New Orleans, she loved cajun food. The thought of it made her hungry, despite the fact that she had just eaten.

"It is called Pierre Maspero's. It's an excellent place," he told her with a smile. Charlotte always loved spicy food. It seemed fitting that she was reborn in New Orleans this time.

She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could Sabrina had appeared next to her. "Yo, who's your friend?" she asked Charlotte. Charlotte looked at her blue haired friend, who was sipping an iced cappuccino. In her left hand was a bag, probably containing a pastery of some sort.

"This is Julian," Charlotte told her with a smile. "Julian, this is my friend Sabrina." Sabrina gave a small nod to Julian. Charlotte could tell that she was ready to leave. Her friend started towards the door, giving the two a quick chance to say goodbye. "It was nice talking with you, Julian. I'll see you at 7 tomorrow night." She assumed that this would be an ok time to meet with him.

She gave him one last smile before heading towards the door. She was even more excited about tomorrow night now. Julian, meanwhile, smiled as he watched her leave. This time, he would protect her. He swore it.
