Height: 5"9
Weight: 165
Eye Color: Blue
Hair Color: Blonde; black when depressed or when his powers overwhelm him
Scars/Tattoos/Piercings: Julian has pierced ears, a mark of his vanity. In addition, he has several scars on his chest and back, mostly from blades or muskets. He has but one burn scar at the center of his chest.

Physical Description:
It is easy to see why Julian was called a heartbreaker so long ago. He is the epitome of male beauty: lithe, broad-shouldered, golden hair, and crystal blue eyes. With his love for fine clothes and colorful cloaks, he would not look out of place in a Renaissance painting.

His vampiric nature hasn't left him unchanged, however. Beyond the times where one can see real sorrow in his eyes, Julian's hair occasionally darkens when he is depressed or his powers act up. In addition, he has a bestial, vampiric form which manifests itself in times of great stress or need, increasing his abilities ten-fold at the cost of increased bloodlust and the lessening of his control over his emotions.

Strengths:
Eternal Life- Julian may despise his curse of eternal life, but he cannot deny that it is one of his strengths. As long as the curse endures, he cannot die, though he can be grievously wounded. He has used his extended lifespan to increase his knowledge and master his abilites as much he can.
Charm- Julian was always a charming individual, even in life. He can put many a person at ease and if he so desired, convince someone of the opposite sex to accompany him to his bed.
Vampirism- His condition gives Julian certain strengths. He is faster and stronger than normal man and his senses are heightened to the extent that few have ever been able to sneak up on him since his transformation. In addition, he can transform into a more bestial form to increase his abilities, but this is a doudle-edged sword. He may also turn humans into vampires or ghouls, slaves to his very will, but he rarely uses those abilities, finding them distasteful.
Swordsmanship- Julian was born in an age where it was expected that royalty should know how to use the sword and Julian was always an excellent study. Julian has honed his abilities out of boredom if nothing else. At this time, he prefers the jian, the "Gentleman of Weapons".

Weaknesses:
Sunlight- As a pureblood vampire, sunlight doesn't outright kill him, but it does weaken him severely.
Fire- As a vampire, Julian is particularly vulnerable to fire to the extent his wounds take much longer to heal when they are inflicted by flames. In theory, his body could be burned to ash and he would be still bound to those ashes, unable to pass on as long as the curse endures.
His Temper- Over the years due to depression and the toll it takes on him, Julian's temper has gotten worse and worse. This often blinds his judgment and endangers in a fight. In addition, his anger makes it easier for his vampirc nature to take over, endangering everyone around him as Julian desires nothing more than combat and blood.
His Family- There is nothing in the world that Julian loves more than his family and he would do anything to protect them. This includes his wife, no matter her incarnation.

Abilities:
Transformation- Julian is able to transform into a large bat-like creature with larger fangs and sharp claws either at will or through extreme stress and anger. In this transformation, he is stronger, faster, and can shrug off a greater amount of damage. In addition
Flight- Julian has the ability to fly with or without the wings that comes with his transformation. In addition, he can grant this ability to another person as long as he is physically touching them.
Wind Manipulation- Julian can manipulate the air around him in various shapes and forms. He often uses this lengthen the reach of his blade in combat and can also create great gusts of wind resembling miniature tornadoes.

Oddities:
Singing/Humming- Julian loves music and he can often be heard humming or singing a tune under his breath.
A Stylish Appearance- As a leftover from his more vain days, Julian continues to dress in stylish clothing, favoring long hair and cloaks.

Personality:
Julian is a passionate man. His emotions are intense and he rarely hides them. If he loves you, he will protect you even at the cost of his own life, but on the flipside, if you harm what he loves, there is nothing in this world that will save you from his wrath. Julian is a charmer and though not much of a womanizer anymore, he knows how a smile and kind word can make even the most ice-cold women blush. He also has a chivalrous streak due to his upbringing and absolutely refuses to allow harm to befall a woman when he can help it, though this does not apply to certain witches for obvious reasons. Once a cheerful, if irresponsible man, Julian's manner has darkened over the years due to the curse on his family. He still refuses harm the innocent, but he now shows no hesitation at feeding upon the truly wicked, something which this world has in abundance. Deep down, he blames himself for the curse upon his family, but he cannot forgive Haven for targeting his children and wife in her mad retribution.

Family:
Charlotte Newcastle || Wife || 16 || The Reincarnated Princess
Liam Solomon || Son || 904 || Kitsune
Astrid Solomon || Daughter || 904 || Vampire

History:
Julian was born in wealth and luxury as a prince of a small but prosperous kingdom. He deeply loved his family, his people, and, especially, women. He was always a passionate man who found bliss in the arms of many lovers including Haven Blackwood, a beautiful witch that he thought he had loved. Then he met his wife and he discovered what true love was. She was intelligent, kind, and she saw through his charms like it was nothing. He focused only on her and put aside his womanizing ways for her and later, their children. Unfortunately, he broke many hearts including Haven's and, though he was genuinely contrite and honest with her, Haven in her jealousy cursed himself and his whole family and the rest is history.

Today, Julian is estranged from his own son, unaware of his part in his wife's latest death. He spends his days caring for his daughter and searching for his wife's next incarnation, determined to protect her at all costs, even his own life.

"We all have scars from our past. But they usually aren't visible. But in her case..."

The girl ran up the steps in the vacant building, her breathing heavy, eyes wide. She was scared, her heart hammering in her chest. She didn't understand what was going on, or who was after her. She turned a corner, and met eyes with a tall, rather handsome figure above her. What she noticed most were his eyes. One blue, one golden. They were beautiful.

She remembered him as a baby, when he was born. The memory brought tears to her eyes. "Why? Why are you doing this, Liam?"

There was no answer to her question, only a step forward. So she ran. She found herself on the roof and clutched at her chest, her eyes terrified. She looked around, but saw only the empty darkness of the ground beneath her. She spun around when she heard him. Liam still didn't say a word, but only advanced. The last thing she could remember was a shove, and then she was falling.

The impact left her hanging from a rod, the sharp piece of metal entering her back and protruding from her stomach. Her eyes were wide with fear and a small trickle of blood trailed from her mouth. Liam looked down at her, nothing showing in his eyes.

Charlotte was dead once more.

Astrid sighed, brushing her hair behind her ears. Her ice blue eyes skimmed over the same paragraph for the fifth time. She couldn't concentrate, not when it was so close. In a year, the cycle would repeat itself and start all over. Her mother would die again, and her father would sink deeper into his depression. She hated seeing him that way, and nothing she had done over the last nine hundred years seemed to change that.

And then, two hundred years ago, her twin brother Liam had disappeared, too. It was bad enough that he had left. What made it worse was that he was helping her. Haven Blackthorn, the very woman who had started this entire mess. In truth, Astrid just wanted to go back to being a princess, when things were easy and she understood what was expected of her.

She sighed again with a scowl, snapping the book shut and angrily setting it down at the table. With a frown, she glanced over at her father. "Father, what do you want for dinner?"

Julian sat at the dinner table, his hair darkened in thought. It had been almost sixteen years since the last time and he had yet to find his beloved Charlotte again this time around. Time was running out. He could almost feel the curse at work, her slow inevitable death and rebirth approaching with him unable to stop it. For a man who loved as deeply as he, it was pure hell, something Haven most likely had in mind when she cursed them.

"I was at fault. Not them. Not her. I will never forgive you for this."

At his daughter's words, he looked up and smiled at her. His sweet, gentle Astrid. He smiled and placed at hand on her shoulder. There was no since in both of them being down.

"Let's go out. It's almost Mardi Gras again, isn't it? Yes? No? I still want to take my favorite daughter for a night on the down. I might even get to glare at boys who come too close to you," he told her with a wink.

"It's so very festive this time of year! It's one of the reasons I love living here. But why do I have this ominuos feeling...?"

Astrid smiled a little half smile, her eyes sparkling. "Well, you're a day early. But the shops will be setting up, and there will be plenty of people around, and young men." While Astrid was perfectly capable of handling herself and keeping anyone and everyone at bay, she knew her father was overprotective. She let him have his ways. Nine hundred years and he hadn't changed very much.

Astrid was browsing through one of the shops filled to the brim with masks, wondering which one she shuld pick out. Her father was across the street, still eating. The thought made her smile, Julian could out eat almoste everyone she knew. She was looking at a mask that had a large amount of feathers on it when something, or rather someone caught her attention. It wasn't so much the man as it was his presence. She knew from past experience and past meetings what the man was.

Her body froze, but she forced herself to remain calm. She didn't know who he was, but she exactly what he was. After getting cursed by magic when she was only four years old, Astrid could tell when someone had it in their blood. A cold chill ran down her spine. The man passed by the shop she was in, and she turned his way as he did. She let her eyes wander, trying not to linger on him, yet she couldn't help it. Something drew her gaze towards him. His dress clearly did not fit in with those around him, though with Mardi Gras going on, he didn't look too much out of place.

Astrid didn't understand why, but there was something about him that calmed her. Though she couldn't deny that something unsettling was around. Something was twisting in the pit of her stomach, something she didn't like. She took a shaky breath, and turned back to the table of masks.

Still, she wasn't able to shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen.

"Oh, this should be fun, my precious little princess," Julian teased, resisting the urge to pinch his daughter's cheek in the embarrassing way that only parents could get away with when it came to their children. He grinned at her and his hair turned golden once again, content to spend the evening with his daughter as he put his dark thoughts away for a single night.

Julian smiled slightly as he dug into his third cinnamon roll of the night. He always had a rather large sweet tooth, even as a human, and as a vampire, he could afford to indulge in it fully without it ruining his physique. He did not know how it was possible, but he did not question it. Instead, he chose to enjoy himself and pretend for a single night that his life was not a tragedy.

Of course, she had to walk in at that very moment. He'd recognize her anywhere: hazel eyes, silky strawberry blonde hair that fell down to her waist, and, of course, an innocent expression that never failed to make his undead heart race. He hardly noticed the other girl walking in with her as captured by her appearance as he was.

"Charlotte..." His mind rang.

She looked to be almost sixteen, the age where the curse decreed that she must die. His heart almost broke at the thought of her slipping through his hands yet again to suffer, die, and be reborn again and again. He couldn't let that happen. Not this time. Now stood up and, as he passed them by, he greeted her with a smile.

"I know you from somewhere, do I not?"

It was word-for-word the greeting he conveyed to her when they met a second time in their original lives. Hopefully, that would stir a memory within her soul.

Charlotte held the door open for her friend after they arrived at the cafe. Following behind her, she glanced around at the patrons. There were quite a few tonight. "You can sit if you want, it looks like this might take longer than usual," Sabrina told her as she moved to get into line. Charlotte shrugged. She didn't need to sit, but she did feel awkward just standing in the middle of the cafe. She started to follow Sabrina when she was suddenly stopped by a young man.

Charlotte looked up at him as he spoke to her. "I know you from somewhere, do I not?" he asked her. The teenager had one of her all too common deja vu moments at this point. This man seemed awfully familiar, but she had no recollection of ever meeting him before. Yet she felt that he was a long time friend. How odd. She wished she could understand why she always had these weird experiences with people, but she figured it would go away at some point. She smiled at the young man, who was not unhandsome.

"I don't think so," she told him kindly, not wanting to hurt his feelings. It was possible he'd seen her around town, but other than that she couldn't think of any reason they'd be connected. "But maybe we've met before and I just don't remember. That seems to happen to me sometimes." She wasn't sure why she had added the last part, but it wouldn't do any harm to mention it. Maybe he'd experienced the same thing? Or maybe he was just a stranger who had confused her with someone else. It was a large city, so that was always possible.

As she examined the young man, waiting for his response, a strange thought came to her. She thought of seeing this young man, many years ago, as he walked down a street surrounded by admiring women. As quickly as the memory came, it soon went. Charlotte was left utterly puzzled, wondering what she'd just thought about. It only added confusion to this situation.

"But maybe we've met before and I just don't remember. That seems to happen to me sometimes."

Julian could not help but smile sadly at her words. She was definitely Charlotte. In her previous lifetimes, she often told him that she experienced deja vu, particularly as her sixteenth birthday neared and her death was imminent. He could not help but gaze upon her. Most husbands were fortunate enough to only experience their wives dying in their arms once. Julian had to deal with it every sixteen years if he was lucky enough to find her before the curse killed her.

It's a lot more common than you would think. Tell me, do you have nightmares?" he asked. There had to be a way to protect her. She was right there and he had sharpened his skills since the decades he last saw her. If he could figure out how Haven planned to kill her or if he could find the cursed witch herself then maybe he could prevent it. As he pondered on this, his hair darkened to match his mood, but he paid it no mind.

"Do you attend Mardi Gras by any chance?" he asked curiously. Charlotte always did love the chance to be among crowds of happy people. He doubted that had changed, but then again, she might have been reborn in a more reserved family.

The young man looked at Charlotte with an expression she could only describe as longing and a hint of sadness. She wasn't sure why this was. Perhaps she reminded him of someone? He reassured her that the deja-vu feeling she mentioned happened to others. She doubted the other experienced it as much as she had in her lifetime, but there was no use in making it a big deal.

She thought it was strange when he asked if she often had nightmares. It wasn't something strangers typically asked her, but she saw no harm in answering. "Yes, I do," she responded. "But it's a lot more common than you would think." She laughed and smiled up at the stranger, hoping he would get her joke.

As she looked up up with him with her large, hazel eyes, she noticed his hair turn from blonde to black. She blinked a few times, but it was definitely still black. Was it possible for hair to just change colour like that? Before Charlotte had the chance to ask, Julian asked her another question pertaining to Mardi Gras.

She forgot about his colour changing hair as she nodded excitedly. "Yes, of course! It'll be great to dress up, wear a mask, and watch the parade." The teenager could hardly contain her excitement. She'd gone to the Mardi Gras celebrations before as a young child, but in more recent years her parents had not taken her. They'd only agreed to let her go out this year because she was now sixteen and would be going with friends. Before she knew what she was saying, she asked, "Will you be going to Mardi Gras?" She asked this because it was the polite thing to do, but also because something had compelled her to. For reasons unknown to her, she had a genuine interest in who this man was and if he'd be attending the upcoming celebrations. "Oh! I'm Charlotte by the way. It's nice to meet you," she said, extending her hand to Julian.

"I am Julian," he told her, taking her hand in his. It had been so long since he touched her hand. People took the smallest things for granted. If he could only hold her in his arms again... But no, she did not remember. She never did, until it was too late. Still, there was hope. Her memories may be gone, but her spirit was the same. Silently, he vowed he would not allow her to die this time.

"I believe I will be attending Mardi Gras too,"
he told her with a slight grin, his hair turning golden once more and his fangs showing for just a moment in his excitement, "I would be honored if you would meet with me that night. My... Sister would love to meet you."
It was times like this that the gift of immortality was a mixed blessing. His daughter looked barely a decade younger than him if that. However, that could be a good thing. It made him look less like a perverted old man hitting on a teenager.

Charlotte noted Julian's antiquated way of speaking, but didn't think much of it. Perhaps he just liked to speak like that.speak like that. She hardly noticed that his hair had changed colours again, as she was busy thinking about how much fun tomorrow would be. Julian seemed like a nice young man and she was sure his sister was probably nice too. Just why his sister wanted to meet her was a question though.

She opened her mouth to speak when she had one of her flashbacks, though to her it was an intrusion of strange images to her mind. Her hazel eyes glazed over, as she wasn't focusing on the real world right now. She briefly recalled being a large room. She was surrounded by others, but they were nothing more than shadowy figures. A lone figure was walking through the crowd, approaching her. He was familiar, but his face was obscured. Just as quickly as the image came to mind, it left.

The teenager looked up at Julian, trying to recall what they'd been talking about. Oh yes, Mardi Gras! "Where should I meet you and your sister? My friends and I are staying around here so we can see the parades and get something to eat."
On any normal occasion, Charlotte wouldn't have so openly accepted an invitation to meet up from someone she'd just met. But he seemed friendly and something about him told her that he could be trusted.

Julian smiled at her response, happy that she had accepted his invitation. He did not know where he would go from here. She had to find out about her past life eventually. But he would just be happy to spend time with her as much he could.

"Do you know of the old French Quarter? There's an excellent cajun place there. We can meet up there.
Charlotte nodded. "What's the name of this place?"
she asked. Growing up in New Orleans, she loved cajun food. The thought of it made her hungry, despite the fact that she had just eaten.

"It is called Pierre Maspero's. It's an excellent place," he told her with a smile. Charlotte always loved spicy food. It seemed fitting that she was reborn in New Orleans this time.

She opened her mouth to speak, but before she could Sabrina had appeared next to her. "Yo, who's your friend?" she asked Charlotte. Charlotte looked at her blue haired friend, who was sipping an iced cappuccino. In her left hand was a bag, probably containing a pastery of some sort.

"This is Julian," Charlotte told her with a smile. "Julian, this is my friend Sabrina." Sabrina gave a small nod to Julian. Charlotte could tell that she was ready to leave. Her friend started towards the door, giving the two a quick chance to say goodbye. "It was nice talking with you, Julian. I'll see you at 7 tomorrow night." She assumed that this would be an ok time to meet with him.

She gave him one last smile before heading towards the door. She was even more excited about tomorrow night now. Julian, meanwhile, smiled as he watched her leave. This time, he would protect her. He swore it.
