History:
Darkness never grazed the inside of the light, that was a Knightly man. They were a proud family known in fact for their high pride and multiple charities. Each Knightly child was generous and top of their class in school, even the black sheep, Matthew Charles Knightly.
Matthew loved the family, honest, but it became such a horrible task, constantly showing up to dinner parties he cared none for. People talked out of their asses, until they could no longer breathe which was exhausting to Matthew. Faking and pretending was never an easy chore for him to get the hang of. He would much rather relax and enjoy the small company of close friends.
His life was completely dull and uneventful until, that is, she walked into his life fast.
SHE was awkward, and almost clumsy in a social sense, and though it was sometimes painful to watch, Matthew became excited to be around her. It was hard at first, watching her, watching her choose to be fake with him. Time passed slowly those months, while he tried very hard to force her to open up just a little so he could see a glimpse of reality in those brown eyes.
He just admitted to himself that he did in fact have a crush on her, and wanted to finally ask her out. When the time came, he sucked up his nerves and as he started to admit these feelings, Lillian had news of her own, she started dating.
The fact she dated someone else told Matthew that no matter what, she wouldn't love him in that way. Sure, he pushed away those thoughts not wanting to disturb what was so precious to him.
