Ruya slept peacefully in the trees, tired from her trip. She'd been moving so long that the moment she set down to rest, she'd fallen asleep. She heard a gunshot and her ears moved, trying to follow the sound. Slightly groggy, she came to. Guns...? Ruya rubbed her eyes, narrowing them as though the act alone would help her see farther. It didn't, but it did make the strong light from the sun less painful. She heard talking, then the sound of grating, like something was moving.

What is this, now? She thought, dropping to the ground. She made her way towards the sound, but stopped when she saw footprints on the ground. It looked like a single person... the way the footprints were places and the depth of them in the ground told her that it was someone who was running recently. Adjusting her quiver on her back, Ruya flicked her eyes towards where the sound had come from. There weren't any people following this set of footprints, but the gunshot had come from the area this person was running from. Ruya frowned heavily, glancing at the tracks again. Why would someone shoot and then let a witness get away? Is that what happened? There's no blood, no signs of limping... this person isn't injured. So they let a perfectly fine person run away...? Maybe this person is a friend of theirs, a messenger, maybe? I'll find this person and question them. She decided. I am carrying weapons. I should be fine.

She followed the tracks until she reached a tree, where a girl in a yellow dress was sitting. She looked rumpled, as though she'd been running a great distance. Ruya played with her hair. Looks like a human. She thought. No weapons. She seems to have some kind of strength in her arms and legs. I should be careful. After mulling over her next move for a while, Ruya finally went around so the girl could see her, being sure to keep her tonfas at the ready.

"...Are you quite alright?" She asked, cautiously.

Ancel had begun to feel movement on the ground. It was hard for him to explain but he was starting to feel movement of others threw the earth its self. As he fallowed Kya trail it began to grow he became more and more aware of every touch every step on the ground. It grew remarkably to him from animals to the wind simply blowing the trees, he could feel it all he could sense it all. He didn’t fully understand it at first it came threw at a lot of noise to put into words. But as he came closer to Kya it changed to him understanding it all. What had been a cluster of noise had turned into soft sounds almost like music to him.

With Ancel learning his power at a remarkable rate he managed to catch up to Kya rather quickly just as the gun shoot rang out. Ancel pushed up against a tree and peeked around to catch Kya high in a tree and a new stranger speaking up to her. Ancel continued to look around spotting a glimpse of the guards. “Can’t I get a break here? Guards all around, Kya is in a tree, and now this other girl.” He whispered lightly to himself. “Calm down think you’ve been through this before.” Ancel slowed his breathing and looked at the tree Kya was in. “first things first.” Ancel closed his eyes and focused on the tree. “Still part of the Earth right?” he thought to himself. A branch of the tree slowly moved not making a sound as it wrapped around to tap Kya on the shoulder and point towards were Ancel had stood.

Cassidy walked over to Destin at this point and looked at the reality and then at him. "You always were gifted." She told him she sighed "Your power will return. Give it time." She tells him confidently. She then looked down and then at the path that lead out of the camp. She used Eagle eye to see the Path both Ancel and Kya traveled in and then looked at Destin. She opened her mouth wanting to say something immediately but suddenly closed it obviously deciding better of it. She turned to follow the path Ancel and Kya traveled down using her eagle eye to see the path they both took. She heard crows which was a curious matter but ignored them making her way down the path. She still had her pack and inside it was Kya's yellow flats. She found them by her crystal coffin and had forgotten to return them to her. Looking at the rocky path and thinking how the girls feet must be hurting she remembered the shoes in her pack and quickened her pace to find the girl. The path was long and it seemed she was walking more then a long while before she found the three. She looked at Kya scaling the tree silently. She scale the tree perching her self on the branch above her she handed the girl the yellow shoes "Thought you may need these." She said them on the branch and then jumping down from the tree landing in a catstance she looked at the new person and Ancel and nodded at them both in a way of greeting. At this point she heard shuffling and talking in the distance and she walked to the source of the sound. Keeping her footsteps silent and her body low to the ground like a predator would when stalking there prey. She saw the burned village sneaking to a nearby bush so she could better hear the words being said. She had gone unnoticed as she creeped closer. She smelled ash and saw the wall and the dead body. Her eyes narrowed her eyes orange once more in anger at the soldiers remembering her men burning in the flames of her enemy and the Destin exploding. She clenched her jaw and balled her fists trying to calm down when the Nightmare reared its ugly head. The damned creature revealing the war again urging her to fight and kill them all and in return get herself killed. She closed her eyes as if to hide from the illusion and then she opened them. Her eyes glowed a bright vibrant orange and her nose began to bleed her head spinning the illusion disappeared the nightmare seemed to be wounded and it quickly ran off. With that she quickly and silently made her way back to everyone her nose still bleeding she shakes her head not offering a word as she quickly makes her way past them and back to the camp. As she enters the campsite her nose still bleeding, her vision blurred and her head spinning. She grips the wall for support and walks slowly and sluggishly. She finally gets to the Fortress Ancel created and she slowly enters it her mind now spinning violently. She gripped the wall sliding down it so she was sitting down. She cursed herself for over exerting her powers. The nightmare had followed her and was now creating viloent illusions in anger at her. It was showing her a false past of Destin screaming out her name exploding as he begs her for help then the sage guides bringing him back telling her she would die for her sins as Destin came back he chocked her angrily screaming that she had failed him and she had killed all there men. This time however Cassidy thought it was real. She cried and begged for forgiveness fighting against the illusion. Confessing everything about her fate and future. How she was to die when this war was over and how she would join her men.
((I was in the mood to be dramatic......))

Kya

"...Are you quite alright?" a calm, cautious voice said below Kya the moment she had finished her apple. Scared to see whether or not it was a soldier, Kya gripped the tree tightly, and slowly lowered her head. To her relief, it was just a woman who had the appearence of a kangaroo. Judging from her weapons, Kya had a feeling this woman was a freedom fighter.

"I...I'm fine....I just..." It was at that moment Kya felt a rough tap on her shoulder. It was a tree branch, poking her as though it were a hand. Kya looked down to see Ancel just below her. The girl's face turned white with shock and embarassment. The last thing she wanted was people following her. Unfortunately, Cassidy was there as well. She handed Kya something in her hand. "Thought you may need these." she said, handing her the yellow flats she had abandoned in her chamber. "Th-thanks...." Kya said reluctantly. When Cassidy was gone, did she go and retrieve Kya's shoes? Although Kya hated to admit it, she was hoping to have her shoes back. She silently slipped them on. The feeling in her feet was weird and foreign to her. It was almost like stepping in jelly.

Once Cassidy was gone, she floated down to Ancel and the kangaroo woman. "Anceeeeel," Kya whined, "why'dja hafta follow me??" She facepalmed and sighed as she spoke. After a few seconds of silence, Kya looked back towards the kangaroo woman. "Ma'am, please don't head in that direction," she pointed towards where the wall used to be before it turned invisible again. "It's... it's a trap...."

Knowing Ancel's style of wanting to approach things that caught his attention, Kya quickly gripped his forearm and pulled him towards the forest. She didn't want him to know about the guards just yet. "Goodbye!" she said to the lady before she entered through the trees with Ancel.

"Look," she started as they walked, "I'll tell you what happpened later.....it's kinda important..." Suddenly, Kya looked up at the sky. "Damn, i wish Destin was here. I just felt a raindrop...."

"I...I'm fine...I just..." The girl said.

The tree moved then, in an odd way. The wind hadn't been blowing and yet it moved.

Frowning lightly, Ruya tipped one of her ears. Other people seemed to be gathering here, it was... odd. Before she could move, a woman came and handed the girl some shoes and then the girl directed her attention to a man on the ground. Ruya didn't pay attention to the people talking until the girl seemed to be addressing her again.

"Ma'am, please don't head in that direction," She said. Ruya rose an eyebrow. The girl continued, "It's... it's a trap...."

Ruya gazed thoughtfully in the direction that she was planning to go towards. A trap, she says. Ruya nodded. Until I rebuild my other bows, I should lay low and find the other freedom fighters.

Breaking her out of her thoughts, the girl called, "Goodbye!" as she pulled the young man with her away from the so-called trap. Ruya sighed to herself.

What a strange set of people. She thought. Odder and odder... Ruya spent a couple minutes standing motionlessly in the rain, trying to decide where she would go before deciding she couldn't do wrong if she followed the girl and her male companion. They seemed to have some idea as to where they were going and she was sure if they meant her harm, she could talk them out of it... or fight back. She really didn't want to and hoped that her training would allow her to remain hidden as she followed them. But just to be sure, she stayed far enough behind them that she could barely hear their speech without straining her ears.

Ancel let out a sigh not really wanting to explain himself. “I remembered something.” He spoke while he looked back up to the sky and the rain pouring down. “Something I never should have forgotten. A promise I made to someone very much like you.” He looked back to here and gave a half smile. “I’ll save you a story and just say I was wrong to abandon you all like that.”

The bunny girl as he would describe her had been fallowing them and he was fully aware of this her steps were heavier than the rain and stuck out to him. He glimpsed towards were she was and let out a sigh ignoring her at least for now. His new power was coming in hand rather quickly. She wasn’t a threat at least not yet if she had been after them she would of just shot Kya earlier but she didn’t so let her b in his opinion.

Kya

Ancel had told Kya that he had changed his mind because of a promise he made to someone just like her. "oh." Kya responded with a light smile. "Can't wait to here it. Your story..." she said, looking out at a river that could just be seen behind the trees. Kya sighed, took off her flats, and threw them behind her. She felt as though she'd rather take the pain in her feet than the uncomfortableness that she felt with her shoes.

"So Ancel," she said after a long period of silence, "Before i race you back to the campsite in the rain, i have one more question for you; Cassidy, I feel like she's the only person among us i haven't talked to. What's she like? She's so mysterious. As soon as I met her and Destin, they were having a dramatic moment or something like they were brother and sister. Nobody explains anything to me. I'm out of the loop...." she said trailing off. "Anyway, thought i'd ask you because i see you've been talking to her a lot recently." She chuckled as she gave him a playful punch on the shoulder.

Getsus

After lunch, Brendan sat in the comfort of his office. The warm sunlight shined on him through his windows. He was reading the newspaper quietly until one of his lieutenants abruptly burst through the door. "What's the matter, John?" the old man asked, concerned.

"Sir, I've just received news from the men out in the fronteir that two of the leader rebels have been captured. One man and one woman. They are being deported now and will arrive to the prisons on Thursday, where they will be interrogated."
Brendan did not look up at the man at all, but instead continued to read the paper.
"What's the matter sir, aren't you pleased?" the young man asked, inquisitive.
"Yes, naturally," replied Getsus, "but i feel as though there was no reason for these rebels' arrest. I'm not saying to free them, and i'm not saying that their arrest was wrong. In fact, it may collapse the rebels' organization. What i'm trying to say is....sometimes, when you take something away from people, they tend to cause more trouble. Do you know what i mean?"
"Oh yes, yes, sir." the man nodded.
"I want the men in the fronteir to be extra careful out there," Getsus said, pulling a cigar out of his mouth, "you never know what might happen.......out there in the wild."
The lieutenant gave a salute, and left Brendan in his office, where he continued to read the paper.

ANOTHER MESSAGE OF IMPORTANCE
ok, so dimonlord has failed to post or contact me, and so now first command is up for grabs. Just like last time, you can make a new character or move up your existing freedom fighter. I don't know how we're gonna do this with the new Axe illusion, but maybe we'll figure something out with the wall mission almost about to take place. Also, i left something in the ooc :( it's uhhhh........
it's........uhhhh..........
well, let's just say i don't think everyone's gonna like it... ':( be brave and go see for yourselves... people have been saying things about things, and i felt as though i needed to set things straight....as the gm....so.....you can hate me if you want to....i give you all permission.....

And one last thing!!! @RacoonMoon() not forcing you or anything....but i would do backflips if you made Dodge an actual character ^-^ let's just say i know some people with the name Dodge/Dodger and they're all pretty much the best people on the face of the planet :) you don't have to, but if you want to, you should make dodge a character!!! :) jus' sayin!!!! ^-^ teehee

Ancel let out a soft sigh at her prodding questions. “Sorry but it’s not my place to tell you about another’s past. As far as Cassidy’s personality goes...” he paused and took a short moment to think to himself about a good answer. He placed his free hand on his chin to show he was thinking but quickly dropped it back down with a shrug. “I suppose she’s a determined sort to say the least. Allot like myself in a few ways actually…not much else I can really say without breaking my promise to her.” he let out another sigh and spoke softly to himself just loud enough for her to hear. “Tend to stack those up.”

Ancel perked up a bit and reached into his pocket. “But as far as my story goes.” He pulled out the picture he carried around of himself with the people from the vision that nightmare had shown. “That exists in this picture.” He held it out to hear the people clear on it the writing on the back remained clear as day. “Funny isn’t it? How such a tiny think can hold so much. I’ll tell you about it someday soon.” Ancel fade away for a short moment his eyes wandering off into thought as he remembered the encounter with nightmare. “By the way can you make me a promise not to go off on your own again? at least come to me if you want to go somewhere.”

Ancel started walking after her keeping the umbrella above his head. “Calm down Kya if I made the same promise to you I’d still keep it.” he sighed a bit dropping the umbrella to the ground seeing as how the only reason he had it was to keep her out of the rain. “Besides me and here aren’t really something that could end well.” He closed his eyes as he walked and lifted his head up to the sky letting the rain fall on his face. “We have other things to worry about though don’t we?” he gave a quick kick to the ground giving the area a quick shake. “And if that dust belongs to anyone it would be me!” Ancel took off after her in a jog. He couldn’t help but think how similar she was to one of the girls in the picture. He quickly remembered she still had it and broke out in a full on sprint after her. “And give me back my picture!”

Ancel gave a smile as he chased after her. It had been a long time since he had seen someone actually friendly like this someone different it reminded him of home his real home. It was in that moment A creature leaped from the trees and full on tackled Ancel to the ground dragging him a couple of yards before it leaped off back into darkness unseen and unfelt to him. Ancel let out a loud grunt as he hit the ground in a sharp pain. He pushed himself back up leaning on his hand he yelled out to Kya. “Kya get back to the camp. Fly!” He stumbled back up to his feet and attempted to feel its movements on the earth but there was nothing just the rain falling down to the earth.

Ancel drew his blade from its scabbed and held it directly in front of him as he looked around the area for any sign of what hit him. A crackling laugh filled the air as he was meet with the voice of Nightmare. “Oh joy looky looky who I found! A mole out of its hole!” The creature leaped out from the shadows almost utterly silent as it brought its clause across Ancel shoulder cutting into his skin before it disappeared back into the shadows of the trees. “And a bird away from its cage not far ahead!” Ancel began to breathe heavier as his blood dripped to the ground mixing in with the on pouring rain. Ancel spoke out keeping his hands tight on his blade. “What is it you want from us?” he spoke calmly trying to control his breathing. The wound on his arm was deep this clear as his shoulder and arm became streamed with his own blood. It went silent only for a moment before it spoke once more in a much darker tone. “Your lives.”

Ruya paused, hearing noises up ahead. She assumed that the two she happened to be following had stopped moving. Hesitating, she glanced at her hands. Perhaps just going up to them would be better than trailing them. She needed to find the Freedom Fighters and she was certain that at least the girl in yellow would be willing to divulge that information, if she had it.

To a complete stranger, though? She wondered. In any case, she sped up. She paused when she ran into the yellow shoes she recalled the girl in yellow receiving. This girl clearly just wants to be barefoot. She thought, picking the shoes up. Well... She continued on, I really can't tell her otherwise...I'm usually barefoot myself...

She could hear yelling up ahead and wondered if something bad was happening. She started running, but she was pretty sure she wouldn't catch up in time to stop-- whatever was happening.

Ancels eyes continued to wander his heart racing as he searched for where Nightmare would come from next. “Focus, slow you’re breathing concentrate and find him.” Ancel thought to himself as he breathed in slowly trying to slow his heart rate. He caught a glimpse of the creature just before it leaped out and as Nightmare sprang from the trees its claw going toward Ancel it was meet with Ancel blade as the two exchanged hits Ancel cutting lightly into nightmares stomach as black tar sprang from it onto the ground just as Nightmares claw managed to slice just across his right breast cutting almost as deeply as his shoulder tearing the cloth and leather meant to protect it with ease. Immediately after they exchanged blows the creature vanished back into the trees. Ancel fell onto one knee as he placed his bloodied hand over the new wound that had already began to stain the area around it.

The voice rang out once more unfazed by its own wound. “Well looks like or time to play is up id so much like it if next time it will just be me and you!” the voice laughed out and faded away into the sound of rain poring onto the ground. Ancels breathing had picked up once again into gasp as he tried to calm down. “Damn it was that all I could do?” Ancel slammed his still good arm into the ground with a grunt. His chest heart badly every time he breathed in and his arm burned when he moved it. Ancel then felt some one approaching he thought to himself probably the person who was fallowing them and with any luck they would be friendly.

Ruya loaded her bow, strafing around the area where she thought the others were. But she could only hear one person. One? Weren't there two? She frowned. It went without saying that she didn't want to wander into a trap, but she couldn't hear another person even when she strained. ...why? They were friends. Why-- is...one of them injured? She scowled to herself. It would have to be the male, because she was sure the girl could've been carried to safety. But what was odd was that she didn't hear any thing stalking around the injured person. Unless the injured person-- the male-- had suddenly fallen ill, it didn't make sense to hear nothing. Had the girl attacked the man and then left? Had she gotten the wrong idea from when they met before? No. She had been comfortable, they were... friends. Perhaps it was something else...? Did I just...miss the attacker? Or maybe... did they hear me approaching? Did the man go ahead and is it the girl waiting? Ruya was quickly approaching the scene, but she wasn't hearing anything that made her think that it was the girl. A grunt solidified this thought. So, definitely the male. She thought. Sounds like he's in pain. She was going to surge forward, but paused to listen carefully. Didn't seem like he was doing much... it seemed like he was being unnaturally still. Okay, so I guess he actually is injured.

She came across the male, cut and bleeding on the ground. Her ears perked up. Still nothing. She circled him, her eyes on the woods. Nothing still! She flicked her eyes back to the male, who was bleeding from the shoulder and his chest. He was lying in his blood-- somewhat diluted by the rain-- and something black and thick... tar? ...Tar...? She frowned. What the hell is going on? The cuts were jagged-- not made with a regular weapon like a sword... probably made with the claw of an animal. But that didn't change the fact that there was tar just loitering around. At the very least, unless the girl before was a werewolf or a shapeshifter of some sort, she wasn't the cause of this damage. She really didn't want to lower the weapon just in case this creature came rushing back with friends, but she couldn't leave this guy to bleed out. She wasn't sure what to do if his cuts had tar in them, though. This tar is going to be the death of me. Or him. She thought, finally lowering her weapon slightly. She probably couldn't just automatically assume it was okay to use her medic kit on someone who might just spring up and kill her, though he would have probably done that before if he was dead set on killing her.

"...I want to help you." She said, softly. "...But I need to be assured you're not going to attack me when I do. Alright?"

Ancel let his sword out of his hand the handle hitting onto the ground softly. He closed his eyes as he tried to regain his breath to only slight avail. His eyes opened to the sound of the bunny girls voice recognizing it from before. His body shook lightly as he attempted to get back onto his feet grabbing hold of his blade along the way he got back up taking his breath back to quick gasp. The tip of the blade dug into the ground slightly as he turned towards the girl a pained expression cross his face as he did so. It was clear his wounds were deep though not fatal if treated. He managed to be untouched by the tar it only resting on the ground now mixed in with the rain and Ancels own blood. He slowed his breathing slightly so that he could speak clearly. “Never been one to turn down help.” He spoke softly as he nodded to her lightly the blood from his chest dripping down his body and clothing staining it with blood. His hand was still tightly griped on the blade though he made no attempt to lift it. “Don’t let your guard down if Nightmare comes back I don’t know if I’ll be able to help much in a fight.” He didn’t know if she knew what Nightmare was but he didn’t believe there to be time for him to explain it. Ancel took a shaky step towards her fallowed by another as he inched his way toward her the blade dragging against the ground.

Ruya watched in surprise as the man managed to get back onto his feet. He was barely standing on his own, his sword holding him up precariously, but... none the less... Brave. Foolish, but brave. She thought, raising her bow slightly. At this close, I'll kill him in a shot.

Pain etched his features and he turned to face her. "Never been one to turn down help." The man said, nodding.

Ruya blinked. ...? So he's not trying to kill me like that. That's good. She thought. His cuts were deeper than she thought. She had to wonder why he thought getting up was wise. In her experience, deep cuts like that required lots of rest. She was going to make him lie down again, but he spoke again.

"Don't let your guard down. If Nightmare comes back, I don't know if I'll be able to help much in a fight." He said.

...Night...Hm. She nodded. Ruya had heard that outside of the Paradise, creatures spawned from the very fringes of sleep, those things with hungry eyes and gaping mouths that couldn't materialize in the light... were appearing in the day and without penalty. She wasn't sure, but Nightmares could be... those. She wasn't well versed in killing them, but she doubted wood arrows would do it. So he fought one and survived? Impressive. She thought, moving towards him. But, there's no way... She glanced around them furtively. There's no way I'll be able to defend him when one returns. The creatures that the Elders told us about are nothing but creatures of terror and fear. My attacks will probably do nothing to stop them.

She had to make some executive choices... and fast. If the creature was still around, odds were it would come back while she was vulnerable-- when she was patching him up. Without a sentry, they'd be sitting ducks. But he wouldn't be able to move far with those injuries, so she wasn't going to be able to just let him wander for a while. If she went ahead, he could bleed out if she got caught but the Nightmare could also return and attack. Ruya's medical skills were basic at best, the most she could do was clean and wrap the wounds. She wasn't sure if she could trap the Nightmare, on top of that. I don't have much of a choice. I have to clean the wound first. But with his shoulder like that, I can't give him my bow to ward off others... She scowled. There was no time to worry about everything wrong that could happen. The blow to his chest was enough of a handicap as it was. The chest wound, then we move. She decided, taking out her first aid kit. The shoulder will just have to wait a little longer. We're sitting ducks if I can't shoot, but we're dead meat if we just stay still.

She hurried over to him. "...You've seen and heard this thing before. I'll tell you if I hear anything and you must confirm whether it's the Nightmare or not." she told him. "...You must lead me back to where you came from... and I'll do my best to patch you up and move you there. But I can't suture this. Wild movements will hurt and open your cuts even more. Do you understand?" She tugged at the rip in his clothes until the blood stained clothes were away from his cut. Without waiting for his response, she began cleaning his chest wound.

“Kya get back to the camp. Fly!”

"OKAAAAYYYYY IF YOURE GIVING UP THAT EASILY, I WILL!!!!" Kya shouted back. She simply thought that Ancel's loud grunt was from him tripping and falling to the ground. Still in the spirit of competition, she snickered to herself, knowing that she was too fast for him to keep up. There was no way she would lose this race. Kya had no idea what was actually happening to Ancel.

Only about 3 minutes later, Kya could see the walls of the campsite up ahead. She slowly jogged to the wall, and exaggeratingly touched her thumb to its smooth wooden surface.
"WOOOHOOO!!! I WIN, SLOWPOKE!!!" she joyfully yelled. "NOW YOU BETTER TELL ME THAT SECRET, AN-...."
As she turned herself around, Kya could see nobody on the trail behind her. Although the rain drops were falling harder and faster, there was a cave-like silence. Was Ancel really that slow? No, the rate he was going, he could have easily caught up to her. For Kya, happiness turned to confusion, confusion turned to judgement, and judgement turned to sudden panic. Clutching the earth chosen-one's photo as hard as she could, Kya forced a gust of wind behind her, and took off again into the dark woodlands.

The happy smile that she had when racing Ancel was completely wiped off of her face. The rain that was once harmless felt cold and heavy again. Everything felt darker, scarier, and more frightful. Kya couldn't tell whether or not she was sweating or if the rain was simply pouring over her forehead.
What could have happened to Ancel that he was so far away? Running through the forest with terror in her head somehow felt familiar to the girl, like she had experienced it before. It was as though she was back on a battlefield, running to warn the other villages about the incoming troops.

Seeing two figures up ahead, Kya picked up her pace. She was still far away that she couldn't make out who they were, but she was close enough that she could see the dark liquidy substance that lay upon the ground. As she approached Ancel and what appeared to be the girl she had met moments before, her eyes filled with anxiety. There, in a pool of black tar mixed with blood stood Ancel and the woman.

Ancel's chest looked as though it had been ripped open. The kangaroo-woman was standing right beside him with a first aid kit, cleaning his wound.
The usual distinguished colors that were in Kya's eyes were now replaced with a deep brown. Words could not describe how embarassed she was.

"What happened? Is he okay?" she asked the woman, trying to keep herself from cringing. Kya was known for keeping cool in momentous situations, but now was a difficult time. She knew that every injury Ancel had acquired in the past 7 minutes were all because of her. How could she be so stupid?
"There's a woman who helped me with an injury I had at the campsite. We'll bring him to her." she said quickly. She looked down at the black tar beneath her feet. From the looks of it, Kya knew they had to hurry. There was more than three of them lurking in the woods. They weren't alone.

(ooc: Is anybody going to claim the 1st in command for freedom fighters? If nobody does, I'll probably take the role. I don't mind.)

Ruya's ears twitched nervously. The wound was so bad, she wasn't sure she could clean it and still have enough left in her medic kit for the shoulder hit. He's lucky. That thing should've killed him. It wanted to.

Still... she was concerned about the Nightmares, as he called them. She recalled learning about creatures that were born of fear and cold, just wide, gaping maws that killed for the sake of killing. Why would something like that just so happen to miss it's target and not hit? It made her believe that, at the very least, this man was a great warrior. And yet, while I don't doubt his skill, the fact of the matter is that if it left him wounded... it will return. Why did it leave to begin with? Is it... playing? The thought of child-like things just wantonly killing things made her cringe.

She could hear a whooshing sound, something like a heavy gust wind. But she didn't feel any wind... Is that it? She wondered. She spoke quietly to the man, "...Wind approaches from behind me. Do they travel on the wind?"

He didn't respond-- perhaps he was losing consciousness or perhaps the movement of the wind meant nothing to him-- but in just a few seconds, Ruya heard a different voice.

"What happened? Is he okay?"

Ah. Ruya didn't look up from her work. The girl. That-- Wait, what? She paused, confused. The girl appeared with the wind? That doesn't-- Ruya, focus. This mystery can be solved after the wound is cleaned. She quickly went back to work. "...He's fine. For now." She said, idly. "...I don't know what the things that attacked him looked or sounded like. But I know he's not well off staying here. And I'm unable to actually heal him on my own."

The girl responded, "There's a woman who helped me with an injury I had at the campsite. We'll bring him to her."

Well, that's good, because this is too much for me. Ruya thought, backing away from the man and closing her medical kit. She had done her best, but he was bleeding pretty heavily still. She'd run out of gauze and antibiotics... she needed to restock and he needed his shoulder checked out. He's too weak to walk far. This is bad. She thought, her eyes flicking around them. The girl moves quickly, but can she take him along with her? He's heavy but... Perhaps. It is possible. As long as I'm here to shoot at them... She fixed her eyes on the girl, who was looking at the tar at their feet. ...I don't mean to lay my life down for people I don't actually know, but the girl appearing with the wind means she's probably someone who can stop them with practice...It would behoove me to at least protect her. And the man, if I can get him back to this campsite, that's two people who are able to stop the darkness. Then my people will be freed. Protecting two powerful warriors is more than enough reason to die, I suppose... Her brow furrowed. I'm not planning on it, but I hope these things are just mindless violence mongrels and not intelligent. At the very least if they're stupid, we can come out of this alive. And if not, I'll just make something up. "...Can you carry him back? Ruya asked. "I'll protect you as best I can. But he won't be able to walk for long before he bleeds out. So..." She gave the girl a pleading look. "...Do me this favor and go ahead."

(OOC: I can do 1st in Command if you don't mind. I don't mind being a solider in the army either.)

The woman told Kya that she had not seen the person or creature that attacked Ancel. She also told her that Ancel wasn't able to be healed at the moment. Kya bit her lip. There was no knowing whether or not Ancel would make it if the attacker appeared again. Although the wound had been cleaned a bit, he was still bleeding heavily. Although Kya was no medic, she knew that if they waited too long, Ancel could pass out from loss of too much blood. She wasn't ready to think about the other consequence that could happen from losing too much blood.

Kya's eyes inspected Ancel's sword. She stared at the tip, and upon seeing the black tar that was stained on it, she gained a little bit more hope. Ancel wasn't invincible, but he was a good fighter. He got the thing that attacked him, whatever it was. There was a good chance that the creature was dead.
Her thoughts were interrupted by the woman's voice. "...Can you carry him back?" she asked, "I'll protect you as best I can. But he won't be able to walk for long before he bleeds out. So..." she gave Kya a pleading and slightly importunate look, "...Do me this favor and go ahead."

Without question or concern, Kya immediately replied. "Of course," she nodded, "I should be able to lift him. I worked on trapeze when i was younger, so i trained my upper body regularly. Ancel doesn't seem too heavy."
She glared at Ancel resolutely, a thought crossing her mind. "Wait," she murmured, reaching down for Ancel's sword. "Before i take him, we're going to have to put pressure on his wound." She firmly grasped Ancel's sword, and held out one of the long pieces of fabric that was attached to the bow on her dress. With a quick swipe, she cut the yellow strip, and started tying it around Ancel's wound. "It might not do as much as we want to, but it's worth a shot, right?"

Kya dropped the sword on the ground, and took a deep breath in. In an instant, she managed to lift Ancel by his legs and place him on her back. She wrapped her arms around his knees so he wouldn't fall off. Slowly but surely, Kya was able to bend down and grab his sword. Ancel's picture in one hand and his sword in the other, she was ready to run.
"Thank you for taking care of him," Kya turned to the woman, "I really do owe you one."
"Alrighty, hold on tight...." she mumbled to Ancel. She almost didn't sound like herself as she said this. Her tone was much more serious than the idle tone she normally used.
With a blast of wind from her palm, Kya was off. As the girl picked up speed, she started to experiment with using wind from her bare feet. The blasts proved useful, and Kya smoothly ran through the dark forest. Although the clouds were blocking the sun, she could tell it was afternoon. She was starting to feel tired from all the running, but she pushed it aside. This was another race, a much more important race. She carefully inspected the woods as she ran, hoping not to run into any soldiers, creatures, or anything else that lurked in this new IDD.
"I'm so sorry, Ancel..." she muttered under her breath.

Ruya heard the girl in yellow say "Thank you for taking care of him. I really do owe you one." She nodded, lifting her bow. The girl seemed to be leaving with the wind.

There was no time to contemplate the girl's escape. She didn't know what those things sounded like, but she wasn't going to let them get close to the girl and the wounded man. She wasn't carrying anything good on her, just her regular bow, her blow darts, and her tonfas. She wouldn't be able to immediately kill off every one of them... Well. She said to herself. There's only one thing to do.

A rustling sound-- so quiet she could barely hear it-- came from behind her. She whipped around and fired three arrows, taking off after the girl.

The only noises she could hear were her own footfalls-- every now and then, quiet rustling behind her made her turn, running backwards and firing recklessly. The girl was gaining ground fast-- she was too quick for Ruya to follow, but Ruya was planning to separate from her anyway. She couldn't lead these creatures back to where the group was. She could, though, cut through the woods and get them to follow her to a new area, maybe far away from the girl.

When she could no longer hear the girl, Ruya shot off to the left. The creatures behind her were catching up.

She could hear their breathing as though they were right behind her, breathing on her neck. Well... She strung up another arrow. They're faster than I thought. She turned, ready to fire to find that three dark figures were rather close behind her. They were... dark, fuzzy things. Not furry, but... fuzzy, as though they weren't a part of the world or the realm itself and were interlopers from another time and space. She could see sharpness-- claws? Teeth?-- and briefly she could see what she thought were eyes. Fire, Ruya! She ordered herself, releasing her arrows. They dodged. Nngh. Damn it. She turned forward again. She couldn't keep up running for very long, but she had an idea.

She turned on a dime, dashing around them. The creatures lunged at her and only barely missed. Ruya threw her tonfa like a boomerang into one of them-- it let out an inhuman wail and stumbled backwards-- but she didn't stop running. There was tar on the ground, sticky and hot, and Ruya had to pay attention to it as she ran.

A roar behind her made adrenaline pump through her system. Her legs were getting tired, but she didn't want to die. Now what? I'm out of medical supplies. I'm lost. And in a few minutes, these things will catch up with me... She strung up another arrow. ...Are these things defeatable? Or just trickable?

Ruya had to stop running. She was tired and her equipment was heavy... She just had to kill the things... or be killed herself. I'm not looking forward to literally any of this. She thought, turning and loading up an arrow.

But the creatures... were gone. She strained to hear. When had they stopped following her? She hesitated and then started forward, slowly. Nothing? She kept her ears perked up as she walked. She hadn't really been able to hear them until they attacked before... Nightmares, were they? Ruya glanced around her. One of them's pretty badly injured. No, two-- that man from before had injured one pretty bad, right? But more come back when they're injured, it seems. So that's it, then, I need to get to safety from here...like, right now.

She wasn't hearing anything, but they couldn't have just left. She continued walking but after a while she began to hear... civilization. People? In a forest filled with these nasty creatures? She hesitated. ...The...Freedom Fighters? She wondered. ...Of course! Okay. I found them, but I attracted some bad guys. I hope they understand.

Ruya ran towards the noise, finding a camp with people wandering around. She sighed in relief. Now to find the head of the Freedom Fighters and tell him I might have damned all of us. She thought.

(OOC: I'll move Ruya up to 1st once she meets Illusion Axe. It would make more sense than creating a brand new character for the position, I think.)

Kya

"Almost there....." Kya felt like she couldn't feel her ankles anymore, but she kept on going. The wooden wall was just up ahead. With one last stride, she blew a gust of wind as hard as she could, that she flew over the wall. She felt as though she was getting used to her wind powers now, and she was capable of producing stronger blasts of air. As soon as her feet touched the ground of the camp, she made as much attention as she possibly could.

"I NEED MEDICAL ATTENTION!!!" she yelled, hoping the lady from before would hear her. Not waiting for an answer, she looked inside the tents. Luckily, Lust was in the first tent she searched.

"Miss, i'm sorry to bother you, but we have an emergency!" Kya helped Ancel on to one of the unoccupied beds in the tent. Quickly glancing behind her, Kya could see Cassidy on another one of the beds. Something wasn't right here.

"He's hurt," Kya said, frantically ripping the yellow ribbon from off of his chest. The blatant red stains were quite petrifying. "He got attacked in the woods by someone, or something....I got there to find someone tending to his wounds, but the help wasn't enough....he's losing blood fast...please, won't you help him? Unfortunately i can't stay here, i have to tell the others something important..." Before exiting the tent, Kya placed Ancel's photograph right by the edge of the bed. She looked back at him one last time, and quickly made her way to the center of the camp.

"FREEDOM FIGHTERS! PLEASE HEED MY WORDS! I SPEAK OF EVENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED AND THAT MAY AID TO YOUR PURSUING IN THE EVIL MAN WHO HAS CONQUERED THIS WORLD!!!"
Some of the creatures actually stopped and stared. It felt weird drawing so much attention to herself, but Kya knew it was necessary just in case the soldiers or the strange thing that attacked Ancel decided to raid the village.
"Just a while ago, i met a man in the woods and decided to travel with him. We talked, and when we parted our seperate ways, i heard a gunshot from behind me. I investigated, and found a whole troop of the enemy's soldiers. They have strategically set up a blockade that has seperated this part of the woods from the other. They hide on the side of the woods and in the middle of the wall, like it is a fort." Kya could see some faces turn white. Other faces looked bewildered, and others determined. She kept her voice firm as she continued to speak. "And unfortunately, they have discovered the technology to make this blockade invisible, that way, victims aren't aware of their prescence. I don't know how many people they've slaughtered, but no matter how many they've affected, the situation is critical. I know this sounds ludicrous, but i swear, i've seen it with my own eyes, and if you believe me, i can prove it. Believe it or not, there are also strange attackers lurking in the woods. They have already pursued my friend. I think that these soldiers in the woods must be hiding something, because if they don't get their prey, these strange attackers do. Furthermore, although i am not the leader here, i think that this blockade is crucial if we want to continue further into the dimension. I wish to speak to someone in charge about this."
Kya stood tall and strong on the ground, glancing around waiting for someone to speak.

The girl from before had spoke, but no one was speaking. Ruya finally spoke up, as loud as she could.

"...The strange attackers from the shadows are approaching us." She said, finally. Some of the people around her turned. "...Because I have lead them here," She continued, ignoring the looks she was getting. "...Unfortunately I am unable to fight them off on my own. I sought the Freedom Fighters, which apparently you are, but without leadership..." She paused. "...I might've lead those creatures here." Ruya said, gripping her bow. "...But I have a plan to defeat them. To do that... I need the help of everyone here. They'll surround us. They'll try to make us give into fear." She paused, her ears drooping. She realized how exhausted she was from just listening and running for the entire day. She'd barely taken any shots... And so can I really say I can defeat them...? She wondered. Yes... I can. "Those creatures, they retreat when they're wounded. They gather allies and wait in the shadows for people to separate. They are so quiet I can't hear them... so quick I can barely out run them. But if we had some skilled melee fighters backed up by ranged fighters..." She frowned slightly. "Two small groups who attack the shadows that we lure into our presence..." She looked around. "It's possible not only to kill them... but perhaps to capture them. Back in Ghestus' Paradise, I've only heard of these things. I hear they have an allergy to the rays of the sun. It may be possible to kill them with something sun-kissed...? We should experiment." Ruya paused, looking up at the girl. "...The fort that you saw in the forest must come second to securing the base, shouldn't it? Especially if we risk being attacked every time we leave... Unless..." Ruya crossed her arms, thoughtful. "...You are insinuating that the two are the same enemy-- that the men in fort are sided with our shadowy attackers...?"

Dodge Hanson
Dodge shrugged. " No reason really. I suppose that I have to come back every now and then, if only to remind myself I'm a freedom fighter. Besides Tink needs to be around someone his own age. Speaking of which." Dodge got up from where he kneeled and prepared to go.

He turned to the door when it abruptly flew open. In came a girl carrying a boy who lay unconscious in her arms.
"Miss, i'm sorry to bother you, but we have an emergency!" she said and without waiting for an answer placed him onto one of the beds. "That's my bed." Dodge said, succumbing to the selfish thought. He was about to ask about it but she beat him to it.

"He's hurt," The girl said, frantically ripping a yellow ribbon from off the boy's chest. Dodge grimaced at the blood that was now revealed. "He got attacked in the woods by someone, or something....I got there to find someone tending to his wounds, but the help wasn't enough....he's losing blood fast...please, won't you help him? Unfortunately I can't stay here, I have to tell the others something important..."

It seemed rather strange that she would drop him here and then rush off. It was obvious from her voice that she cared for him a lot and wouldn't leave unless something was very important. He almost wanted to go and see what it was but thought he would be more useful here. He watched the door for a moment before going to Lust and asking what he could do to help.

Tinkerton Puck
Tink's firework stopped mid-explosion as he heard the yelling from outside. He had found that if he just left the reality with a task it would continue with that while he did other things. He was contenting himself with making these fireworks as he lay on his back. Though Axe was putting on the great semblance of avidly reviewing these plans, Tink had no idea if anything was -or even could be- going on inside his head.

Tink let the firework fade and flew over to the tent entrance to inspect what was going on outside. The reality got up behind him but with a wave of his hand Tink sat him back down. Tink opened his door and almost flew straight into a large mass of fur. Tink back-tracked quickly and looked up at the bear that was now scowling at him. Tink apologized and with a grunt the bear turned back to the person speaking. Tink flew up until he could hover above their heads and listen to the speakers.

"-to make this blockade invisible, that way, victims aren't aware of their prescence. I don't know how many people they've slaughtered, but no matter how many they've affected, the situation is critical. I know this sounds ludicrous, but i swear, I've seen it with my own eyes, and if you believe me, i can prove it. Believe it or not, there are also strange attackers lurking in the woods. Furthermore, although i am not the leader here, i think that this blockade is crucial if we want to continue further into the dimension. I wish to speak to someone in charge about this."

Axe is in charge..... but if i'm controlling Axe....I guess that puts.... oh dear I'm in charge!? Tink had to stop himself from falling straight down and slowly glided back inside his tent. Once there his nerves burst and he fluttered frantically around the tent. "I'm in charge. I'm in charge. I'm in charge. I'm in charge."He repeated though he couldn't force himself to believe it. In retrospect he should have thought that impersonating the leader meant he would have have decisions but the idea was no less scary. He was a follower not a leader. And at that he knew nothing about making military decisions; he was a pacifist! Tink stopped his fluttering and landed on the table with his head in his hands. Oh dear he muttered again before looking up at the reality. It was every bit as inspiring as the real thing. I may not be a leader, but they expect him to be. "Oh I envy Dodge's acting right about now." he whimpered before collecting himself. The reality as if sensing Tink's decision finally got up from his spot and prepared to leave.

Axe burst through the tent flap and after counting to five followed. Ruya had started speaking now about how they should combat some kind of creature. Tink didn't yet feel that he could add anything to the dialogue so Tink had him stay back with his arms crossed. Tink flew up and settled on the top of Axe's tent, far enough not to be seen but close enough to hear most of what was being said.

Kya

Kya nodded as the woman appeared again, explaining that dark creatures of shadow were about to surround the campsite. Kya bit her lip in anguish. With two of the strongest, Ancel and Cassidy down, this would be challenging. Kya herself didn't know whether or not she was up to it. She had spent most of the day running. She didn't know if she could push herself any harder.

As Ruya finished speaking, she took note of the last thing she said, "...You are insinuating that the two are the same enemy-- that the men in fort are sided with our shadowy attackers...?" Kya scratched the back of her head in thought. There could have been a possibility that the shadow creatures and the men had no affiliation.
".... I may be crazy, but perhaps the men at the fort strategically placed the wall in a place with attackers, that way nobody would bother to wonder into the woods in the first place. Would that make sense?" More thoughts poured out of Kya's head as she spoke, "I mean if they followed Ancel, who's a human, and then followed you, maybe they aren't on any side. If what you said is correct, that if we can capture these things, maybe we won't even have to fight as much as we think we need to. Maybe we can kill two birds in one stone..."

She looked at the Ancel illusion next to her. She didn't know who he was, but she spoke to him anyway.
"We would need something bright, and then we would need something to trap them with...I would say Cassidy, but she's knocked out..."

Lust Asami Curtis

Lust lifted the bandages for a instant then covered them again. The scent of blood was heavy on the air. She looked at the lass who was now awake her face pale as she looked at the young male who wounded.

Cassidy Pyro SaintClaire

Cassidy had awoken with a start at the scent of blood. She had jumped up from her cot and it was then that she saw Ancel. Her face drained of it's color as she slowly stood up and walked to his side she took lust's hand and lifted them for a moment to see the wounds and the damage they inflicted and then recoiled and flinched away at the sight of them. The female then would put her hands back over the wound. Cassidy's anguish turned to rage and her eyes glowed orange to reflect this. She took Ancel's hand and rested her forehead on on them. "I'll find who did this to you. I will find them Ancel...this I promise...And I'll see you when I get back." She said making him know she knew he would survive this ordeal and with that she removed a necklace from her neck. The necklace was silver chain with 2 dragons circling a green stone. It was cool to the touch but when around certain people it would warm up a bit and glow different colors, engraved on one side of the stone was 7 letters which spelled out one word 'Courage' and on the other side 4 letters were engraved that spelled out 'Hope', and then on another side. The dragons were crafted from cold, with ruby red eyes and they held great detail in there design, there mouths were closed and at the top of the crystal the dragons necks were resting on each others shoulders like a hug. She put the necklace around his neck and with that she turned and walked away. She saw Kya and then she saw another being who looked like a bunny...no that's not it. A kangaroo? Yeah that's the animal with Tink, and beside him--- She shook her head telling herself they had a good reason for this horrible display. "Whatever your planning I want in." She said clearing not in the mood. Her eyes continued to glow and swirl about in a mix of anger and pain. "Where is Destin?" She asks them.

The girl in yellow had brought up something intriguing. "...That is a curious thought." Ruya agreed. "...To mask themselves, they hide in a place filled with attackers. Attackers they know to be devastating." She tapped her chin. "...It's a double edged sword." She said, shaking her head. "...And I can see why they might do that. Those soldiers can be replenished often. There are very many off them...in Paradise."

...the technology for an invisible wall exists as well... as long as you're in Paradise. Ruya reminded herself. Which means this is an effort to extinguish the Freedom Fighters for sure. I don't know much about life out here, but at the very least my knowledge of inside should be of some help. Still... the invisible wall isn't used often enough that I know a way around it.

The girl in yellow was speaking again. "If what you said is correct, that if we can capture these things, maybe we won't even have to fight as much as we think we need to. Maybe we can kill two birds in one stone..." She looked at the man from before-- Ruya blinked in surprise.

"...He's better already...?" She muttered to herself. That is impossible. The man was bleeding out. That-- no. It must be a hallucination... or an illusion... I'm just tired. The girl was saying something that Ruya completely missed because she was busy being shocked. Ruya decided it was best to plow on as though she weren't hallucinating. She'd deal with the fact that she was apparently in the presence of an apparition.

"...Capturing them is a faint possibility at best." Ruya explained. "...But as long as the possibility exists, we ought to try. The issue here is the weakness..." She tipped her head. "...Sun-kissed things, things that have been blessed with fire, that might kill them. Capture, though..." Ruya frowned, her mind jumping to the task of creating a plan. She had a theory... Considering the way they'd attacked, those dark creatures most likely circled their victims. If there was one person who could evade the creatures enough... perhaps a ring of fire could "capture" the creatures. But it doesn't have to be fire. Ruya thought. Creatures of the night only fear light. So what we need is for someone to build the means to create light and position people in the woods with mirrors. With two of these means of creating light and about four mirrors... we could make a light perimeter that the creatures can't pass. And with that... we have captured one. That is, if these things are weak to light, I cannot be sure of this without a test. And if I do this, surely people will perish when I am wrong...

Suddenly her mind paused on how the girl had spoke of the dark creatures. Strange attackers...? "Considering that you speak as though they hadn't existed before... do you think their appearance is not... random? Perhaps... perhaps they appeared because of the current weather?" She motioned to the overcast sky. "...Do you think, perhaps, that the rainy overcast weather might have been cause for their appearance...?" That was bad. If that was the case, capturing them was of no consequence. Would the creature die in the sunlight? Would it resurrect when the weather was bad again? If these things can't be captured in a cage, then we'll have many, many enemies. They say the enemy of my enemy is my friend, but this is the first time I've ever been the person at the other end of that saying.

Before Ruya could get a response from the girl in yellow, a woman left a nearby tent and marched over to the group. "Whatever you're planning, I want in. Where is Destin?"

Ruya recalled her as the woman from before, the one who had come and gone in minutes, and frowned. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread, right? She thought. The woman was clearly in pain... angry, upset. There was no way they could use her right now. Ruya had learned that people who were ruled by their emotions were weak... she'd learned that the hard way. However, though Ruya had no patience for weakness, her mind reminded her of the current situation. They'd just gotten an injured man back... and now a woman was angry? So then it was possible that the woman was upset of the man before. Ruya felt her ears droop. Were they more than friends? No wonder the woman was upset. Perhaps it isn't weakness that pervades her, but sorrow? Ruya thought. But that emotional attachment is going to make her hard to control. The pieces in this game must operate as I'm thinking or I doubt we'll be able to capture these creatures. She observed the woman again, frowning. I understand she is strong willed... but that could be our downfall right now. I need someone who will listen to orders. In this state of mind, she is bound to stray. Then, Ruya caught herself. ...I am not the leader. I have no right assuming that this woman cannot help... She shook her head. "...Who is the leader?" She asked, finally. "...I need to talk to the Leader of the Freedom Fighters."

(OOC: I don't know where the Ancel illusion was created. Was it supposed to be Axe? I referred to the illusion as Ancel anyway, but... I'm not sure if that's right. I'll edit it after if I'm wrong.)
