In the world of Avalon there are both humans and monsters alike, but the humans have little to no idea about monsters. Monster children unknowingly adopted by human parents are the most confused and unfortunate, having no guidance whatsoever. Monster children born to their biological parents are blessed. They know who they are and where they belong. Either way all monster children within the area must attend a secret university hidden away from mortals. To fail means being fed to the staff. Each new student to enroll has been sent a letter;
To the parent or guardian of _________,
Your child is ready and ripe to flourish into their true self. The Lucror Metus University for Monsters is extending this letter of acceptance to help them get where they need to be in the world. Weekend visits are allowed in which parents/guardians may come to visit at the university or the child be allowed to go home for a time. Holidays are two weeks long and the same visiting applies.
Humans are never allowed on grounds and you need not worry for your child's safety. We here at Lucror Metus University for Monsters know just how cruel and unkind humans can be towards monsters. Your child's comfort and education is our goal. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to call my office to voice them.
We look forward to your child attending,
-Madame Kronos, Headmistress and Talented Arts Professor

What she takes note of first is the rope around him. This won't do at all. Morgan's eye becomes akin to a glass doll's; lifeless, without spirit. Rows of mangled teeth protrude from her mouth as her jaw extends and broadens a few inches. Using a shark's mouth she saws at the rope. Certainly using her sword would be better, but biting it in half is much more fun and drastic. The sailor yelps underwater and flings to the surface, calling for help. Morgan circles him a few feet below his kicking legs. On her ermine white hands her nails harden into claws, elongating. Muscles contracting and tail scrunching for leverage, Morgan lashes her arms through the thick aqua to hook her claws into both achilles tendons. The sailor's scream is cut short as he forever disappears from the surface, never to reach air again or The Dancing Widow.
Licking the shredded sinews from her hands and teeth the monstrosity swirls merrily far below the ship, avoiding the storm further. What little is left of the sailor is being torn up by the local sharks in the depths. Morgan can easily devour five full grown men on her lonesome. That first sailor was just an appetizer.
The memory encouraged her to dance through a song playing in her dance studio. Gluttony isn't uncommon in any living creature or monster for that matter. Merfolk have always been gifted with bottomless bellies, or at least the breed of merfolk Morgan's mother was. She only knows of one other with the same insatiable traits such as her own. Her twin, Morwen. Perhaps she'll go down to the kitchen for a snack. In her black leotard she changed out of it in the dressing room, instead pulling on a pair of black slacks with a open shoulder top. Morgan of course refuses to wear shoes, it'd upset her webbed toes and sensitive calf fins. Stepping out of her studio on the second level of the building she glances out of a window, waiting to see this year's batch of new students.

Wearing a black vest over his furred torso with light denim jeans Liam awaits the arrival of their new students eagerly. His lavender eyes are bright and beaming with impish mirth, stubby tail flickering behind him. As the headmistress' assistant he makes sure to guide the students and act as counselor to help the new students out. He glances up through his purple bangs to smile up on the third floor where he spies the slender figure of his long-haired headmistress. Liam bleats softly, merry as always, before looking ahead at the gates and waiting for a vehicle or a flying brood of creatures.
In his arms he holds a clipboard to check off students already enrolled and supposed to arrive today, papers for students who still need to enroll and pamphlets with a map of the university. He had quickly became Morgan's assistant and near-friend due to his organizational skills. And overall charming personality. The young stag rubs his hard hoof-tips against his broad nose, scrunching it slightly and drawing his ears back when he feels an itch. How embarrassing! Hopefully there isn't another outbreak of fleas...it happens to monsters frequently.

Karl rolled his resin boots as he walked, the flat surface of the ground absorbing surprising ammounts of sound as he sauntered, and as his lack of breathing, there was a strange absense of sound, despite his movement. He was glad that people were filling the university. This meant he'd be fulfilling his part of his obligation to Morgan. Crafty woman, she be. He dare not cross her however; the removal of his power source would send him skittering back to Castle like a little girl. And he truly did not want that. He shook his head in thought. The statue would have to mentally debate this later. Right now, there were students to pummel...or at least shoot skeptic looks at. He'd wait untill they were at the new persons assembly to say anything. And even then, it would be a mere hello, and when he'd be available for combat instruction.
He pushed his way out of the front door quietly, glad the hinges didn't give him away with their squeak. He was greeted with the stark white fur of the little 'deer boy' as he so called him. He tended to give everyone nicknames. Because he found names to be such an odd thing. As soon as someone said "Karl", or "Arma", everyone knew that they were speaking to him.... Why bother with all the last name nonsense....? He again, digressed as he moved quietly behind Liam, his plain smirk rolling across his face. With a sudden jolt if the sensitive deerboy's ears hadn't picked him up earlier, he placed a firm palm on the fellow's shoulders.
"Hello, Deer-boy!" He said, with his usual seemingly enthusiastic infliction. "Are you excited about today's events?"

It was here that foot steps echoed softly… infinitely rebounding off one’s ear drums… driving an absolutism into one’s fragile psyche… this entity… was everywhere… everything… it came with one body… but many separate minds. Detris emerged from the tomb like stairs entrance that lead down to his personal laboratories in his own pocket plane. As he stepped free of the inky black portal his crimson eyes washed over the world around him. The strange horned mask that covered his lifeless face gave of a maleficent aura as the corpse walked towards the double doors which swung open seemingly on their own accord. His skin and bone fingers idly tapped against the carved silver staff that he carried at his side with a cement grip.
He idly stepped forth from the maw of the school shadows forming an umbrella above him to block out the blinding light… it had been a while since he had found time to journey outdoors… the light was not pleasant on eyes use to dark sunless places. He let forth a dry sigh before brushing the dust from his tattered robes that only covered his lower body… which left his gaunt upper body completely exposed… every boney ridge with their arcane tattoos that pulsated in an ecstasy of power. He approached the other professors his voice echoing through the air seemingly endlessly, every word simply overwhelming the last. “Greetings construct… student… ah… Madam Kronos I haven’t been seen you in a while… though I guess it isn’t much surprise that I get so few visitors when I live in a alternative dimensional crypt.” The lich said with a shrug of his shoulders. “So how many students are we expecting to join us this year…”

Finch made no response other than to stare blankly out the window at the building. In any other situation, he'd have been awed by the sheer size of the place. At the moment, though, he was just a bit distracted with other things. Sighing heavily, he pushed the open and stepped out of the rental car, striding over to help his mother unpack hid belongings. It wasn't much, but it was basically everything he owned.
After all, he was going to be stuck at this school for a while.
"You're sure you won't need any help?" she asked, concern evident in her eyes.
"I think I've got it, Mom." The blonde knew she meant well, but right now he really just wanted her to leave. At least, that's what he told himself. "Besides, don't you have a flight to catch?" His attempt to grab his bags was foiled by a pair of arms wrapping around him. A moment passed before Finch complied, hugging his mother back. The teen knew he wasn't fooling anyone. He didn't want her to leave him, especially not here. He wanted to go home to New York and try to salvage the what was left of his normal life. But he couldn't. He had to stay here and figure things out, for both their sakes.
Sooner than he would've liked, it ended, and he was back in stupid, harsh reality. His mother smiled, reassuring him. "It won't be forever. I'll see you as soon as you're out for break, I promise." The teen just nodded silently. Finch knew she'd have visited every weekend if she could, but the school wasn't exactly next door to their home. Besides, she had plenty to deal with when she got back. All of which was his fault. 'Don't think about it,' he reminded himself. He was here to do something about that.
"Stay out of trouble, okay?" she said with a smile before giving him a peck on the forehead. "I love you, Songbird."
"Mom!" The teen flushed bright red, both at the kiss and the use of his childhood pet name. Despite his embarrassment, Finch couldn't help but chuckle. "I love you too, alright?"
Soon enough, though, he found himself waving as the car headed down the road, wishing he didn't have to say goodbye. With a heavy heart, Finch grabbed his bags and moodily pushed through the gates. He had to admit, the school was nice. Really nice. But appearances didn't change the fact that this was a school for monsters. Freaks. Like him, apparently.
From the looks of it, he was the only one here, besides the furry white guy hold the clip-- wait, what!? The blonde did a double take, make sure he wasn't seeing things. He wasn't. Finch stared for a moment, then sighed. This was going to be a looooooong year. Nonetheless, he strode over to the clearly not human being. "Uh, hey, I'm new here. My name's Phineas Sommers." It took all his will power to get the name out. Just another reason to hate his dad, he supposed. "Is this where I have to sign in?"

The headmistress knew the truth of it, or well at least as much of the truth as was strictly necessary, for he had to admit that to have not divulged it would have likely resulted in a lack of employment, which though not necessarily all that gainful in terms he cared about was at the very least an amusing diversion. When you have had much of eternity to get tired of everything else, the promise of the truly novel was worth a decent bargain in exchange. And he did so enjoy watching them think too hard about the things he said.
It was funny, truly, that one had but to give oneself the tone of gravity and knowledge, and even the most meaningless statement could be interpreted as profound, while the exact opposite was true if one adopted a familiar flippancy. Of course, he did not always present his grave truths flippantly, for nothing was worse than becoming predictable, orderly. He wondered if perhaps there was still more of that delightful mortal food called Nutella in his pantry. Not as good as actual chocolate, but much less likely to get stolen.
An indeterminate amount of time after this, he was making his way down from the West Tower, which was home to his classroom and living quarters (unless of course he chose to teach class in the East Wing, or the Dungeons, or the second-floor women's lavatory (all of which had happened at some point). He was under the impression that the new students were arriving for term today, or was that yesterday? Soren did not much care. Idly, he turned his snowy locks electric blue, choosing to walk rather than teleport to his destination.
The human integration professor had a tendency to arrive either somewhat early or a little late to everything, and thus he was naturally right on time to see the first student pull up. He slipped on a pleasant-if-not-noteworthy expression, stifling a chuckle at the lad's reaction to Liam. Obviously not raised with his heritage, then.

With a nervous bleat he kneels and with dexterous hands grapples everything into a pile again, making sure nothing was ripped or mussed in the process. "M-morning Karl! You startled me...again." which is never difficult to do honestly. Being a deer he's rather flighty. He stands up with everything hastily in order as the car parked. With a smile from his grey marked mouth the young stag wiggles his tail as he turns to Karl, "Very excited! I love seeing that we still have new students coming in every spring. It's so refreshing. And it means we're helping a lot of young monsters.", he softly bleats happily as he recovers, now beaming at Karl, "Here comes a new student now." still looking merry as ever.
He had just caught the nickname, seeing the mother doting over her son gives him a whistful, if not melancholy, feeling but it's quickly washed away when the...werewolf...pauses to stare at him. Liam's dark eyes drop for a moment and he scrapes the ground with his hoof meekly. Most monsters are lucky, they can easily disguise themselves as a human. Liam's race doesn't allow for that. Even among monsters he's an oddity and he's reminded of it quite frequently. Still he forces himself to look up as the new male approaches. "Hello there, welcome to LMU! Phineas Sommers? I'll check you off...", his pen trail down the list and Xs over the box next to the opposing male's name. He tugs out one of the many folders pinned against his side by his elbow and offers it to Finch, "I'm Liam the headmistress' assistant and offical school registrar. In this folder we have a map of the school, your class schedule and a booklet of student rights allowed here. Oh!" he moves aside a bit to reveal Karl. In his excitement he nearly forgot! "This is Karl, our groundskeeper and combat instructor." he's doing well (for the time being) to mask the nervousness he feels with this particular student being so near. It is then that he notices yet another professor nearby. "And this is Soren, our human integration professor." he blinks warmly with those charming almond eyes, obviously very happy to have staff nearby.
~~~
A musk breaches her gills as a student crawls out of the car, being attacked by his mother in their farewell. Morgan shakes her head at her fretting assistant before pulling away from the open window. She turns to face her dance studio, admiring the aquatic layout touched with victorian accents. It'll change once Liam is made the talented arts professor, yet that won't come for another few hundred years. Until then all she can do is enjoy this room as is. She continues to admire it when a raspy voice oozes to her senses. Detris is a rare find beyond the library or his astral plane. He's easily the oldest within the staff which has helped Morgan come to respect him. Still his hesitant words make her smirk. "It isn't as if I can easily visit you there either. You'd need a giant fishbowl to have me as company."
"A healthy handful." she muses, glancing out the window briefly before retreating once more. Only one has arrived yet. "It's a shame to think half of this land's young monsters never make it here. Some are wrought with grief if without their biological parents, feel they are a blip in the world." many as such go into hiding, wander aimlessly, or take their own life. It's a gloomy thought but that very fact is why Morgan is so vigilant about this university. She approaches the lich and admires his staff (magic users are always astounding; sirens have no need for tourniquets) before tilting her head curiously. "I trust you have an exhausting lesson planned for their first day, Detris?"
He waved goodbye to his parents ignoring their words of warning about his abilities and whatnot taking his things from the trunk his dufflebag of clothes, (and a few plushies that he never leaves without) his backpack full of old family magic tomes, and his broadsword a family heirloom the pommel made from the scales of the demon's they had made a pact with the blade made from some unknown steel that even his parents could never guess. He straightened his open hoodie flipping the hood up over his silvery white hair with black bangs, (that oddly enough he usually spikes but today no, he decided to leave it down his hair falling to just below his chin) and casually brushing off none-existant dust on his denim covered thigh. He was set for this new year of school, sliding the sword in between his back and the backpack he turned shut the trunk watching them go on their way, before turning and making his way towards the school.
He pushed open the doors and took in the sights; mostly familiar sights Liam doing his usual Karl, being his usual self, but this blonde kid. This was a new one, he watched closely just taking in the sights of how things were going, he noted Soren amongst the staff near the new kid. He decided, that he'd try and be alittle bit more, open this year putting on his best smile he moved towards the group. "Hey Liam, Karl, Soren," He listed off all three names in one breath and after taking another his smile grew alittle. "I'm glad to be back, you think my parents sent me to my death the way the coddle me during breaks" He said with a chuckle turning his attention to the blonde boy. "Hi, and well welcome to Lucror Metus university, I hope you enjoy it here, it's alot to take in if your not use to seeing other races like us." He said with a tilted head and a friendly gaze, "But, once you get use to everyone, things are really fun here, considering the fact we can be ourselves and not worry about being chased with pitchforks and torches.." He laughed at the thought of that old cliche. He then offered out his left hand. (the demonic one) "I'm Soki, I hope we can be friends" He offered, the sleeve of his hoodie not doing well to mask the armor-like scales that covered his arm, and hand for that matter but only on the back of his hand, his palm was normal; if you call it being a dark navy color normal anyways, humans sure would faint at the sight.
Though he seemed calm and collected on the outside, the headmistress' deer-like assistant struck him as somewhat... flustered, for some reason. 'Maybe it's just your predator instincts,' the wolf thought dryly, though that would make sense. After all, didn't everyone say wild animals could smell fear? And besides, it wouldn't be nearly as far-fetched as other aspects of his... condition. "Relax, okay? I don't bite," he tried to reassure Liam, before adding softly, "Not if I can help it, anyway."
It wasn't until after Liam introduced the combat teacher that the blonde realized what he'd previously thought was a statue was actually breathing. Startled, he stumbled back a few steps, right into the next person introduced, . As he scrambled back so he could face all three staff members, a part of his mind scolded him for acting so skittish. 'You're a predator, not prey. Show some backbone!' Finch shook his head, ignoring what he assumed to be the Beast in him as he tried to recover. "Uh... hi," was his eventual, exceedingly lame response. Talk about poor first impressions.
At least the next person announced himself before sneaking up on him. Finch turned to see a boy, presumably his own age, who actually seemed pretty...human. Well, except for the two different colored eyes, but that wasn't SO bad. Besides, he couldn't help but appreciate that the guy was at least trying to make him feel comfortable with the bizarre situation. 'Finally,' he mused, 'someone normal.' That is, until he put his hand out. The blonde's eyes widened at the sight of dark blue scales and wicked sharp claws, stepping back ever so slightly. 'Get a grip,' he told himself, taking a deep breath. 'You knew it was going to be like this.' Besides, the guy didn't seem to want to hurt him. Trying to stay calm, he took Soki's offered hand and gave it a quick shake, pulling back almost immediately. "I'm Finch. Look," he added, addressing all the small group, "I'm still new to all this 'immortal monster' crap, so if you guys could keep the weirdness to a minimum...?"
But he rezoned as Liam began to speak again, the enthusiastic white-furred creature began to go on about how pleased he was with students. Karl...honestly wasn't a people person. But he could stand to be around them. He nodded in agreement. "I suppose that it's better then simply lazing about and doing nothing all day." He justified, propping his hands on his hips. "But! I-" He started, before he stopped to watch a boy bail out of a vehicle.... (Odd things, were they...) And begin to walk towards them. His sensitive ears picked up the voice of his mother, calling him a nickname. "Oh my! Seems they've already cut my job out so far!" He said, with a bright chuckle. He stared at the boy as he walked up the steps. He seemed perfectly human..which kind of made Karl think.... Perhaps he was like mice for snakes? You know, like a feeder rat? He grinned wider at the idea, before Liam's voice brought him back to the void. The deer-boy said something about him being a werewolf? How odd!
He was introduced by Liam, in which he gave a staccato wave, not even vocalizing a hello. But when Sorren was introduced, he jerked his body around. Now TWO people had snuck up behind him. There was something most wrong with that..... He shook his head, before turning around again. His gaze instantly fell on Finch's look of amusment etched on his face for looking at Liam. Karl himself chuckled. "Don't worry, child! He's quite friendly!" He assured patting the deer's shoulders.
And shortly following, a black SUV pulled in and out in the blink of an eye, dropping off a familiar white haired youth... Soki. Karl had a brief history with Soki, as he attended a few of the combat classes last semester. While the boy was not a stalwart fighter of amazing property, he did rather have a unique power. That arm of his could make quite the barrier...but he digressed, and offered the same brief wave he'd gave Finch....whom now seemed much more startled at the fact that he was moving at all. Not many people could tell he was a statue from first glance. Much less a visual at all. He stumbled as if he were seeing a ghost. He just shrugged, and widened his smirk, looking actually quite wickedly at him. But he moved on as the boy said that he'd like to avoid weirdness.... Oh, was Karl going to have fun with this little were....
He let his laugh answer for him, the high pitched giggle giving him an even creepier air. "Wierdness? Deary me, none of us are weird! None of us at all!" He reached up to his shoulder, Arma eagerly hopping to his wrist, as he held his hand towards the were-boy. "Go on, Songbird. Arma is very kind. Probably like you, too!" He said, grinning snarkily. He would wait for the boy to take his little raven counterpart.
"Hush, Shannon. I will be fine. You are too beautiful and frail to come and just look at me. I'm strong unlike you." She teased to no effect. Shannon looked up at her with those baby blue eyes that Ren hadn't gotten from her mother. "Are you sure?" Ren smiled and patted the girl's head with reassurance. "Absolutely." She let the girl cry on her chest for a while longer, as Ren was several inches taller than Shannon. She glanced over her shoulder checking to make sure she wasn't already humiliating herself and caught a shadow moving in one of the windows. She stared for a few seconds more before deciding she had been seeing things. Even the sharpest vision could make mistakes. She looked down at the girl who had stopped crying enough to sigh. "Shannon. You need to go. I have things to do. I will miss you dearly." Their gazes met exchanging silent words before the girl turned and left shutting the car door behind her.
Ren watched the car leave more slowly than was normal, probably due to her sister's whining, before gathering her things and heading towards the school. She stopped a bit up the driveway seeing a crowd of people who in all respect didn't look all to human. Ren edged forward drawing up her confidence into her posture to stop nearest the deer-creature who looked like he would be the check-in site. "Pardon me, if I'm interrupting anything, but do believe I check-in with you?" She glanced at the others analyzing their postures and appearances trying to guess race and age. She figured that in all there were three teachers and the rest were students or otherwise. Turning her gaze back to the deer she smiled politely. "I am Euphoria Lucrenic. I'm new and if you wish to call me by nickname just call me Ren. Also, It's a pleasure to meet all of you here. I hope that we will have a good time here at this school." She chuckled internally as a thought ran past her mind.
A good school year? Only one filled with lots trouble can suit me the best. I guess I'll just wing it for now and see what I can stir up later.
Leaving her rather startled-looking driver, she hauled her singular bag from the trunk, slamming it closed and patting the boot so the driver knew it was fine to leave. Blinking impossibly blue eyes up at the castle, Liri started forward, only to mutter something acerbic under her breath at the flowers that sprung up at her step. That was going to have to be fixed, and with a conscious suppression of her more obvious angelic properties, she continued towards the assembled group, this time devoid of plant trails.
"Good morning," she greeted everyone present. A rather odd assortment: a white faun-like creature, a hooded individual, a statuesque female, what appeared to be a demon, a living statue, and a man with peculiarly blue hair. Actually, he looked the most normal, aside from maybe the person with the hood.
Contrary to popular belief, Liri felt absolutely no animosity towards demonkin. For the most part, she and several of her compatriots viewed the whole thing as a rather tedious bureaucratic arrangement, with the paperwork to prove it. So it was without reservation that she turned her million-watt smile on the lot of them. "I hope I'm not late for anything? Liriael, at your service."
Lume, the male in the backseat looked at him with his eyes only, making no motion into turning his head in the other males direction. "Just heading to the same University as you are." He looked away again and out the window, he usually wasn't this much of a downer, but being in such a small area with his father made him mad, sad, and all kinds of emotions that just wanted to poor out. He knew that, as soon as he stepped out of the car and into the fresh air, he would start acting like his normal self, maybe even a bit happier, considering he was getting out of the hellish home that his father and mother dwelt in. "I guess we'll be class mates then, hmm?"
This time he turned his head to look at him just as Nixx nodded and his father pulled up to the University right behind the car they had been following the entire time. The two males stepped out of the small car and grabbed their things. Lume's mood was automatically lightened by the means of being out of that small car with his father. When he took a quick glance back at the man, he drove of, almost too quickly for his own good. Lume rolled his eyes and started onward onto the grounds, Nixx seemed to be trailing behind him.
-----
Thalia had been in her car, listening to her parents talk back and forth to one another, listening to strangely childish music the entire way to the University. She found it odd that they hadn't really said much to her until they pulled up, another vehicle stopping right behind them with two males exited it before it zoomed off into the distance. When the car stopped, her mother looked back at her, "we're going to miss you, you know that right? But this place will be so good for you." Her mother let off a smile and her father simply agreed, as he always seemed to do with everything his wife said.
Thalia nodded, "yes, i know, you've already said this so many times mom." She gave her a smile back. She loved her parents, but she wasn't really looking forward to being away from them for so long. She had lived her entire life thus far always surrounded by them, 'hanging out' with them. Come to think of it, maybe it was good she was 'leaving them;' it gave her more way to make real friends instead of being a momma's girl and a daddy's girl. She looked at them, "i guess i'll see you guys some other time then. When i'm not being dragged off by some strange creator into the woods to be beaten," she said, very much over dramatically, an innocent smile being formed upon her lips.
Her mother rolled her eyes but still smiled and Thalia made her way out of the red car they were in and grabbed her suitcase. She looked forward and gave her parents a little wave before making her way onto the grounds, seeing a good sized group of people, she decided to make her way over to them.
The blonde was sure his face had turned bright red, but quickly shook it off and fixed the living statue with a predator death glare. "Call me that again, and you'll end up looking like the Venus de Milo." In all honesty, the threat was pretty empty; Finch wanted to get through his time here with as little incident as possible, and assaulting a staff member probably wouldn't be a great move. But only his mom called him Songbird, and if he had anything to say about it, it was going to stay that way. Nonetheless, he gave the bird a critical once over before putting his hand out for it to hop on, deeming it safe. He had to admit, the raven was pretty cool. Even if it's owner was clearly off his nut.
Glancing toward the gate, he took note of the two very different girls who had just arrived. One was the very definition of angelic: blond hair, blue eyes, porcelain skin, the whole nine yards. The other seemed the exact opposite, her dark hair and blood red eyes giving her a very intimidating appearance. Looks could be deceiving, though, and Finch knew it. He kept himself occupied with the bird on his wrist, hood still up. He'd never had the best luck with girls, and seriously doubted he'd do any better with monster girls.
"Ah greetings to new and to our returning students! I'm Liam. Nice to see so many of you here." he nimbly passes out the folders needed, quickly withdrawing from the young vampiress before glancing at Karl. "If you can't behave I'll summon Madame Kronos down here. You know how she feels about treating students fairly." although she herself can come off as cold at times, Morgan does do her best for the young ones. Liam hopes he is doing his best as well. He looks at the students, pleased a majority of them seem eager for a warm year at the university. "Classes begin on Monday and until then you can explore the grounds and the building to get familiar with it. Inside of the folder you've all been given a roommate. If you have any issues with your roommate at any point come see me in the lobby and I can change it for you."
He glances apologetically at the overwhelmed Phineas. Liam shoos away Karl's bird, wondering if karl has lost his marbles. He doesn't see anyone named Rex nearby, or at least no one he had noticed. "I'll lead you all up to the dorms while giving you a brief tour.", with that he brings them into the first floor and makes a gesture, "The lobby here is more or less my office. Any concerns involving classmates, professors, your classes, or anything personal can be settled with me if you're comfortable. I'll lead you all up to the dorms, I'm sure you all need a rest." he glanced over his shoulder at Karl and Soren before leading the students upstairs to the dorm level, showing them the dorm halls parted by gender.
[note; I've listed roommates on the front page~]
Morgan hums thoughtfully at the offer. It would be quite the experience to drift underwater in the lich's crypt. A bit of an honor since she's certain he doesn't have many visitors willingly. Although the she-beast starts somewhat at his words. "Today is their day off, Saturday. Lessons resume on Monday. You many want to invest in a calender down there in case your mind isn't helping you." she taunts lightly, wincing at the elevated noise of Karl's giggles. Morgan slowly peers down below from the window, bristling with her fins extending out to unfurl her displeasure. Is he being a pain down there? Thankfully Liam seems to shepherd their dear little lambs inside before too much damage is done. "All monsters have some level of magic, it'll be difficult to ignite some of that within them. Especially if they are new to themselves being what they are."
Moving on, he pressed his hand in the direction of the next person. Nixx, it so happened to be. "You shall be....Er..." He started, pausing as he overlooked the boy rather closely, leaning down into his face. "Let's go with Rainbow-Eyes. RE for short!" He said cheerily, moving on to the next boy...whom he stopped at. The boy looked quite malicious, with those claws and wings. He only grined wider. "YOU! You shall be....you'd probably take offense to "Beelzebub"...how about...Big Bad! You know, like the wolf!" He said, shrugging. The way the boy stood and looked just exherted his non-existant enthusiasm about being here. He probably thought himself above everyone.... As most demons did. Them and their superiority complexes...
Lastly, the final person was sauntering up to the forming group. He took in her apperance, and seemed to think a second. "We already have a demon....seeeoooooowww! You shall be....Impy!" He said, bending at the knees to rest his legs, even though he could not really feel them. He looked over to Liam, whom by now, was probably shooting him a harsh hate-glare, along with a few of the students, he was sure. He wasn't truly paying attention. "What? You said 'Fairly'. Not nicely!" He said, grining widely, his smile screaming 'You know it's true'
Karl was indeed teasing them...but it wasn't to be spiteful. The statue's disposition on fighting was unique. Hate.Hate was not the solution.... It was the mean. Hate only drove people forward. It made them do things differently. While it altered the mind, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse, it changed the way someone fought, and switched their game up. In the middle of a long fight whom had gotten used to fighting your previous style, changing it up was a good tactic..... He trusted that not only Liam knew that disposition, but Soki did as well, being one of his students....
The statue took in a sigh. "But I suppooooooosssseeee if you cannot tollerate my method, I will refrain from using it around you!" He said, walking over to the nearest wall, and leaning on it, his sly spy smile lurking on his face. Moving away from the group, he reached up to his little flying companion. Looking at Arma with this grin, he nodded, and turned. "Of course, you know!" He said as he spun. "I'd be willing to have an after hours introduction into the combat training course!" He said, looking across the crowd, trying to pick out the advid fighters of the group....
Liam begins to lead the new students away, and Soren offers them all a kind smile as they pass. "Welcome to Lucror Metus," he intones, the unruffled calm in his voice a beautiful irony, given the situation at hand. He decides that it may be helpful to remain and check in any latecomers, and so chooses to do just this. Certainly, it is not his responsibility to do so, but poor Liam seems a tad occupied at the moment, and he figures it is not such a problem for him to do so.
He contemplates shifting again, just on a whim, but decides against it. He'd hate to follow every random compulsion with regularity, after all.
Goldilocks? Really? I suppose I've been called much worse. She simply shrugged in reply to the strange moving stone man, somewhat interested in this 'method' of his but figuring that it will become clear enough eventually.
Liriael sighs softly, and trails behind the one who introduces himself as Liam. none of the others seem particularly inclined towards conversation, and she wonders if perhaps she has stumbled upon a den of immortals in the 'angsty-human-teen' stage of their lives. It was mostly inevitable, and she certainly did not blame any of them for it if this was indeed the case. Just look at what happened to Lucifer. One day, he's getting all jealous because the Boss seems so fond of humans or something, and the next he's had the most spectacular rebel-youth fit the universe has ever seen and splits the whole system in two.
Surely, nothing any of this lot could conjure up would be quite so momentous. She glances down at the information she's been handed. Roommate assignments... Ren. Ah, that was the vampiress, was it not? Looking up, Liri atempts to make eye contact with her future roommate, and wonders if she's the sort to keep a room clean or not. Being gifted (if you can call it that) with inestimable tolerance means that it probably doesn't matter either way, but isn't one supposed to have some concern for these sorts of things?
A large ocelot makes its way towards the university, a peculiar bag affixed around its forelegs and slung over its back like some form of harness. Seemingly unbothered by the encumbrance, the feline ghosts silently over the ground and through the trees, pausing just before it breaks the treeline. A number of smells filter through the air, and she inhales deeply, sorting through all of them with some interest.
Another werekin, hm? the last one of those had graduated last year, and Kalista had scarcely been acquainted with him. There is also the distinct prey-scent that is Liam (she reminded herself to make a joke about how delicious he would be roasted), the granite barely-there smell of Karl, which makes her grin internally, since cats could not actually smile, Soki's demon-musk, the fresh flower smell of an angel of all things, and of course Professor Asgard; male at the moment.
She watches as they are all escorted inside, then shrugs (a strange gesture in this form) and begins to shift. For many werekin, the shift is a painful, unattractive experience, but for Kalista, it is an art form. Her fur, whiskers, ears, and tail are the last things to go, though her eyes retain their slitted golden color entirely. She likes them that way (and can see much better in the dark), and so rarely bothers switching them back. Rummaging around in the bag, she pulls out some clothes and dons them before stepping beyond the treeline.
"Professors," she greeted with a half-wild smile and a wave. "Long time, no see, eh?"
Or ripping someone else to shreds. Again.
The blonde shook his head frantically, banishing the though from his mind. This wasn't the time for that. Besides, he still had to find his dorm. Opening the folder Liam had given him, Finch scanned through pages of information until he found what he was looking for. Apparently, he was to room with some guy named Rex Michel. Not the most common name, but hey, it beat 'Phineas' by a long shot. To be honest, Finch wasn't all to thrilled by the concept of having a roommate; all things considered, it just seemed...dangerous. Not that he had much choice in the matter anyway, so he may as well to just hope for the best. Glancing around, though, he found himself unable to identify his roommate as all of the other students paired up. Well, that just figured, didn't it?
Before he could continue debating with himself, Finch notices something; a scent on the air that seems somehow... familiar. And yet, at the same time, it cause the Beast in him to stir uncomfortable. Suddenly nervous, Finch started breathing though his mouth, not wanting any reason to lose control, especially not around this many people. Someone was bound to get hurt. The source, of the scent, though, was not what he'd expected at all: a teenaged girl sauntering onto campus with the utmost confidence. What really caught his attention, though, were her eyes: bright, almost glowing gold, slit like a cats. An instinctive growl rose in Finch's throat before he had a chance to silence it. He'd never much liked cats. And, from the looks of it, neither did the Beast.
((Ooooh, this could be interesting. How would a werewolf and a werecat get along, I wonder? ^^))
A darkly clothed group made its way towards the gate. Cloaks adorned their backs and flushed their faces in shadows. Long black robes shrouded their forms. The Hex Coven was a rather large group compared to the population of the school at least. The Head of the procession called the group to a stop in front of Liam. “We have come to welcome any who carry the blood of the magi… the Warlocks and Witches… those of the Eldritch arts. Have any new bloods come who are of such?” Rex said with no emotion as he eyed the deer folk with bright red eyes. Though this was all that was visible due to his own photosensitivity.
Once Liam had showed them the dorms, he found his and moved in quite quickly, not wanting to get picked out amongst the group; picking the bed near the largest window of the room, he enjoyed reading by moonlight, so sue him. He threw his duffle bag onto the bed and drew his sword from it'd place between his back and the pack placing it in the corner next to his bed and throwing his other bag onto to bed before he, himself collapsed onto it. He was glad to be back here, his family was overly clingy and sometimes he just needed a break from that. Though he didn't mind it on most days, Soki was one of the lucky ones, growing up apart of his own culture and not being raised by humans so it wasn't like he had to complain about poor living arrangements; though he still found it odd to see his parents hiding their true nature in public. He did however shake the thoughts from his head as he figured he'd greet his roommate, and try his best to be friendly once the male got in and got situated with his own things.
She glanced to the cloaked group that made an appearance but seeing as she was no sort of wizard or sorceress she took no heed to it. She instead glanced to the person whose gaze had come to rest on her. Who in fact was an angel. Of course this disturbed Ren as much as the cloaked figures did or perhaps considerably more but she turned her attention back to the folder as she pulled out the paper.
"Liriael." She murmured the name scanning the papers and contents. She was to dorm with an angel. An angel. What person with the common sense and decency would put a vampire of pure blood with an angel seraphim. Ren could sense the upcoming dread. What if the angel whined alot? Would she be forced to stick a sock in the pretty little angel's mouth or even worse, a blade? She sighed and turned her gaze over to the girl who had been looking before. Ren figured this was the angel in question since there was that kinda aura about her. Taking a measure of pride and kindness she shot a smile towards the girl hoping for only the best.
They arrived at the dorm and Ren shuffled off towards her own room. She quickly settled in and made her things appropriately neat and tidy. Having been raised with vampires that had so much free time she was used to the nagging and whining of her sister and mother. Her mother would be on her tail if she made the slightest mistake in any form of household chore.
She was putting away her suitcases when she rifled through the one bag that was separate from the rest. From this, she pulled out a blade made from he finest Damascus steel. Having taken after her father she had been trained more in the art of battle. Her father had given her this blade and said it had been made centuries back when races like elves and fairies were all over the place. Nowadays Ren figured that it would be hard to find an elf that could patch up a blade as well as their ancestors did. She set the blade under her pillow, having taken the bottom bunk without a word. She figured the angel might like being closer to the sky. Finished she finally turned to speak with her roommate and get things settled.
"Well we have a new mage on the way but it doesn't seem as though she's here just yet..oh! You have a new roommate, Rex. This is Phineas, Phineas this is your roommate Rex." he gestures broadly so the two can see each other, perhaps chat a bit. Although his nose twitches seeing that the young wolf is disturbed, fur fluffing up from that unhappy growl. Liam turns in time to view the feline sauntering towards them. "Kali you made it! How are you?" he bleats merrily, tail whipping sideways as he bounds down from the steps without difficulty and embraces her. They've known each other for awhile here and Kali has recently become Morwen's assistant although she is still a student learning here. She is one of the few "predator students" he has grown comfortable with and no longer feels threatened just by the sight of her. So long as she isn't hissing or teasingly tasting his ear.
The headmistress likewise bowed when the lich took his leave. She's always respected her staff (perhaps save for Karl; he just rubs her scales the wrong way) and it is given to the students accordingly should they deserve it. For now Morgan has every intention of napping. Afternoon naps are very important to sirens and merfolk; doubly to mersirens. They just love sleep is all it is. Leaving her studio she locks it up with a spell granted to only the staff who have the key to unlock it. Any student attempts get the students trapped by a powerful, and painful, spell. The headmistress makes her way through a back corridor to avoid the group of students for now, reaching the professors' chambers wing and going inside of her own chambers to rest.
The red-haired immortal leaned her head against the window, eyes narrowed as she watched the environment passed by her window at a fast pace. She disliked cars, there were much more efficient ways to travel; her parents, however, insisted that they at least try to blend with the mortal world, which meant driving around an obnoxious metal beast named "Mercedes". She heaved a sigh, contemplating voicing her opinion about cars again, when the car jolted and her head bounced of the window. Kylia sat back in shock, mouth gaping as she raised a hand to rub the injured spot. "Hey!" She focused her eyes on her father through the rear-view mirror, narrowing them slightly as he chuckled softly. "Sorry, Kylia." Ky stuck her tongue out childishly, "No, you're not! You did it on purpose, don't lie." Her and her father's playful banter was interrupted by her stoic mother, "Now, now Kylia. You need to stop acting so childish. You're growing up now and need to act like it."
Kylia sat for a moment, wide-eyed, mouth gaping; she eventually fell into silence. Her father was much more understanding than her mother -- he was playful, she was not. One could say that Kylia carried her father's personality in private, while exhibiting her mother's personality in public. It was not but a little while longer that the University came into view. "Lucror Metus University for Monsters. No humans ensure a comfortable and safe experience for your freaky little children." Kylia spoke in a deep voice, attempting to imitate one of those sales people on sees on late-night infomercials. Her father stifled his laughter as her mother clucked her tongue and started in on another long-winded speech about responsibility and becoming an adult. As soon as they had pulled into the driveway, Kylia threw the door open. "Sorry, Mom, don't wanna be late. You know, being a responsible adult and whatnot. Love you, Dad. Love you, Mom. Bye!" She swung the door shut, retreating to the trunk of the car to retrieve her suitcase. She was thankful that her father chose to join her at the rear of the car a few moments later, as her mother stayed within the confines of the luxury vehicle. As the trunk opened, Kylia took the moment to throw her arms around her father and hug him close. He returned the expression and touched his lips to Kylia's forehead before moving to pull her suitcase from the trunk.
As he placed the suitcase on the ground and extended the handle for Kylia to use, he offered her a kind smile. "I love you, too, Kylia. And I'll miss you. Be good, you know how important this is to your mother." Kylia shrugged, "Yeah, I know. I'll miss you, too, Dad." She took a few steps towards a conglomerate of individuals a few paces away and turned to watch her father climb back into the car. She waved, he waved back -- her mother shooed her in the direction of the large group and Kylia rolled her eyes. Despite her normal desires to disobey her mother's every wish and order, Kylia turned towards the group of, what she assumed to be, students. She approached the small group, clearing her throat.
The lithe woman walked down the side of the road -- she had been walking for a relatively long time, all things considered. She had recently lost her home... her entire family did. The only one, technically, young enough to attend Lucror Metus University, however, she found herself taking the journey to the school for monsters alone while her family found other ways to survive in the human-controlled society. She scowled softly as a car passed her, reminded of the human beings that had chopped down the trees of her forest. Her anger then turned to sadness and she slowed her pace. The same car passed her again, heading in the opposite direction, not but a few minutes later -- finding it curious, Lain took account of her surroundings again. In the distance, she could make out the large manor that she believed to be Lucror Metus. Relief flooded her system as she realized how close she now was and she took off at a run in the direction of the building.
It did not take her very long to reach the driveway extending into the grounds once she began running -- running was her forte, it was her bread and butter. She loved running and, just by watching her, one could tell that running loved her. Once she reached the driveway, she slowed to a fast-walk, readjusting the pack that had slid around over her shoulder. As she saw the group of others ahead, she froze. Her cheeks lit up with a bright red, contrasting heavily with her green-tinted ivory skin. She reach up, hands ghosting over her hair. It was short, maybe six or seven inches long, but was an earthly green and stood on edge. She had woven numerous flowers into her hair, but was now second-guessing their existence. What if no one liked flowers? Lain swallowed hard, resisting the urge to turn-tail and flee. It took a few moments for her to actually overcome that feeling, but she soon started in the direction of the group -- her pace was painfully slow, inching forward and dreading every step. She felt that she had reached the group much too quickly and was immediately thrown off kilter by the large number of different beings before her. She remained completely silent, freezing much like a tree, and waited. She wasn't sure what she was waiting for -- be acknowledged, to get the chance to run away, to... fade into nothingness? She mentally shrugged, forgoing questioning what she was waiting for in order to remain standing completely still and just waiting.
