When things don't go Finnian's way, he won't hold back his objections or annoyance, even if it means expressing it childishly. Although, it doesn't take him long to forget he was ever upset and resume his happy-go-lucky attitude. He has been known for somewhat "loose morals" and wouldn't think twice about having sex, or getting drunk (though he doesn't smoke). His threshold for alcohol is poor and he accidentally leaks many secrets while he is drunk, and often forgets that he's done it the next day. His exuberant personality and fiery desire for self-improvement strongly impacts the lives of those around him, making others strive to do better as well. He's one who will openly compliment others (with good intention) to the point of embarrassment, because he wants everyone to do their best. He also smiles near-constantly, which during his childhood, was to mask the his insecurities. Those who are closest to him are able to recognize when his smile isn't genuine.

However, when the situation calls for it or when someone dear to him is in trouble, Finnian can be very serious, and will instantly try to come to their aid. He can be described as impulsive and even though he dislikes fighting, he won't hesitate to protect someone he holds dear. He's very devoted to friends, family, and his interests. He's also protective of those things, and can get extremely upset if anyone tries to say something bad about any one of them. If someone were to talk down about a loved one, he would barely hesitate to be up in their face and speak his mind. Accompanying his impulsiveness, he's rather impatient; always wanting to know what's going on around him.

People sometimes can't understand why he does things a certain way; he's obscure and incomprehensible, but believes everything can be done in more simpler ways. He doesn't like to complicate things. Often, he's blinded by his own emotions and takes things to heart even though at the time he may not express his feelings. He's overly trusting of others, and often misplaces his judgements, and gets hurt because of it. Even though he may not seem swift, he understands when he's being used or stepped on—even if he doesn't act on it. When Finnian likes someone (he likes nearly anyone, unless they give him good reason not to), he doesn't believe in “bubbles” and likes being close to them. He has little to no concept of personal space, and doesn't mind getting quite close in order to read your response -- or maybe just to flirt.
