Madness

Introduction

Can You Escape the Madness?

Image
It was just another uneventful day in the quiet town of Stiefvyn Falls, during Fall break a group of friends decided to leave the warmth of their homes and venture out into the snow in hopes of finding something fun to do. Deep in the woods they stumbled upon an old house none of them knew even existed. It was freezing outside and they broke into the house through a smashed window to escape the cold. Once inside the window seemed to fix itself and every possible exit disappeared, even the windows. They were trapped! Desperately the group tried to find an escape, but there was no way back outside. Despite there being no windows to let light inside, the house was lit by candles covering nearly every surface. Even with light, they were still frozen with fear. What was going on?

Upstairs something else was stirring around in the house; its supernatural inhabitants were curious to find out who the foolish intruders were. You see, once you enter the house you are no longer in the human world, but a strange dimension of its own. The house sits on five miles of land, and beyond that, there is nothing but an endless abyss. The woods that surround the property house many unpleasant beast that would likely tear anything that crosses their paths. The only way outside of the house, if anyone should ever be willing to risk being killed, is if one of the house’s otherworldly inhabitants opens an invisible door. Once outside there’s no guarantee of survival, for that reason the creatures have stayed inside for centuries without ever venturing into the woods. Needless to say, they’re a little skeptical of any guest.

The house itself almost feels alive, a warmth emanates from its center and heats the entire house. Random doors leading to equally bizarre rooms tend to appear unannounced at any given time. Opening one could lead you to a daring cliff or maybe another hallway full of doors. It’s easy to get lost if you try to go off exploring on your own, even in a group you chance getting lost in the house for eternity. Voices can be heard echoing through the halls, sometimes screams other times whispers. The house has many secrets.

All of this proves to be a lot more than what the friends can handle. But where can they run to? After a great deal of debating the inhuman inhabitants make their appearance and explain what has happened to the group. There is a way to get back to the human world, but no one knows it yet. To make matters worse, spirits of other humans that died in the house start to terrorize the new guest. Is there anyway for the friends to escape without going completely mad?

Akuziny stretched out like a cat out of her bed. Looking around her eyes laid on the man laying next to her. He was clearly a human, and also painfully dead. A smirk grew on her face as she kicked him off of her bed. "Disgusting." She hissed watching his body land on the floor with a loud thud. Standing up she walked over to her closet to change into her clothes for the day. She slid on a black dress with three big buttons on the front. It was a mini dress that matched with her black stilettos. Looking in the mirror, she saw that some of her make-up was smudged. "Oh no that won't do at all." Taking out a palette of make-up she fixed herself up. "You have to go." Ziny spoke looking at the lifeless man laying next to her bed. "Come on you've overstayed your welcome."

She dragged the man by his shoulders and lead him out onto her balcony. "Nice knowing you." She pushed the man off of the balcony and watched him land on the hard ground beneath him. "You look much better down there than up here." Aku laughed maniacally as she closed the doors leading to her balcony. "Well let's see if any of the others are awake." She then walked out of her room and down a long hallway. "Got a secret can you keep it?" She sung in a wonderfully sounding tune. She walked down the hallway while scratching her nails against the black felt running along the walls.

Each step she took looked as if she was floating her way down her intended path of travel. She walked with precision and purpose. A light smile was plastered on her face as she remembered the look of fear and pain in her recent victim. He honestly believed she was going to sleep with him last night. As if. A light chuckle escaped her lips as she remembered the screams of pain left the other man's throat. She stopped at a door and tapped her nails against it. "Come out Lexi!" She banged on the door before walking down the hallway again. As her nails glided over the felt covered walls, she started to sing again. She kept walking until the hallway came to an end.

"No no no, this will not do house." She spoke in a stern tone before watching the wall turn around leading to a door. "Thank you." She spoke in a sweet tone before opening the door. It lead her down another hallway of doors where she started her normal walking pattern again. "Swear this one you'll save better lock it, in your pocket taking this one to the grave." She continued her song before stopping at another door. "I wonder who's behind this one?" Slowly she opened it. "Wow I have to remember this one." She looked down as the sound of crashing waves drummed against her ears. She was standing on a cliff. Stepping back she closed the door and continued to walk again.

'Out of the frying pan an' right into the goddamn fire...'

Jonathan MacCreary stood in the room he'd kicked his way into. Immediately after getting his feet onto the ground he'd regretted doing so. The one sole advantage to being in this candlelit room, in this obviously-not-right house, was that it was a good degree warmer than it was outside. Back out in the snowy wasteland it was cold enough to shrivel Johnny's daddybags through wool-lined jeans and two pairs of thermal underwear and chap his lips with little more than a light breeze. Inside, at least it was warm, he could get out of the snowstorm kicking upside and Mister Johnson could defrost.

Those were the only good things. The bad things?

Well, first off, it was rather obvious they were trapped. No doors, no windows, and he didn't know or want to know what would happen if he tried to go through the walls with a heavy object. There was literally no way out. Second, there was the infinite feeling of being watched. Although perhaps that was just the fact that the house was fucking creepy. Thirdly, he swore there were things moving around upstairs.

Johnny wasn't scared, no. He was annoyed because tonight was Chinese night in the MacCreary house and, more specifically, it was Szechuan night. He was creeped out because this house looked like a serial killer's dream mansion and it sounded like there were creepy things in the walls and on the floors and he could swear he heard voices that weren't the normal ones. And, most importantly, he wanted out for very obvious reasons.

So, to business then. "Alright," Johnny said bluntly, rubbing his hands together. "Anybody got an idear of how ta get out of this buildin'? 'Coz I sure as hell don't."

Jonathan Darkholme looked about at the where they had apparently came in from.
"Well seeing as the window we came through is GONE!...I'm stumped. We could always just-" There was a bang from upstairs.
"Oh come on! That is the fifth time I've heard that fucking noise! Sorry, I'm just overreacting a little...my claustrophobia isn't exactly helping much..." He started searching the room and found a large flight of stairs.
"I guess we're going up then...anyone want to lead. Besides, you get a great view from down here." He said with a huge grin. Though he was straight, he liked to flirt about with guys too. He never actually did anything else with them but liked to have some fun. Plus, he wanted to reduce the tension. His friends had gotten used to it by now...at least, he hoped they had...
There must be way out of here but the only way to find it is up the stairs where all the noises are coming from. Oh my god! Why did we have to come in here...probably because it was so freezing outside that it felt like my balls were going to jump back into my body just for the heat. Why the hell did men have to have something so sensitive hanging off of their body?! Still...it's useful sometimes...
(A little insight into the thoughts going through his head most of the time.)
Jonathan looked at everyone in the room.
"Am I the only one who is a little creeped out by this place...I hope not..."

A noise interrupted Dominic. Several noises, actually, now that it had come to his attention. Many voices came from downstairs. This disturbed him, but it was nothing new. Occasional strangers did tend to unintentionally drop in some days...

He pulled away from the human, a male around twenty eight years old, and used the arm of his black shirt to wipe excess blood from his mouth. "Thank you," he said kindly to the man. He always tried to be very kind to his blood slaves. Afterall, they were what was keeping him alive. If he didn't keep these four around, he'd never survive through each set of strangers that arrived. Some would show up within weeks of each other, others years.

The man reached up to tenderly touch his neck. There was very little blood around the actual bite wounds. In a massive daze from bloodloss, Dominic helped him to an armchair. He knew where the fridge was if he needed food, as well as the bathroom, and anything else these humans may need. Dominic turned his giant bedroom into a mini-house for the group and himself.

Turning his attention back to the noises that had interrupted his feeding, he decided to investigate in secret. He also wondered if any of the other residents of the house had noticed the new visitors. He left his room and locked the door behind him, thankful that his room was one of the few that never changed spots in the house. It wasn't long before he was looking over the balcony of the staircase on the third floor, hidden away by the deep shadows of the house. He licked the last traces of blood from his lips, in case he desired to meet any of the new guests on this night. For now, though, he watched from the shadows and found himself learning much about their personalities in the process.

"Anybody got an idear of how ta get out of this buildin'? 'Coz I sure as hell don't."
Dominic chuckled to himself and whispered to himself, "Of course, you don't... not many of us do." After that, he grew silent, his eyes following each and every one of them in amusement.

Aiden snuggled up to the blue fluffy scarf around his neck trying hide what he could of his face and failing with the scarfs thin size.

"W-what is this place?" he asked shivering and felt his heart pound like hammer every second. One moment he and his friends were just messing around out in the snow, he only went along because they wanted him too, otherwise Aiden would have stayed home since he hates the cold.

Yet how is that they had eneded up trapped here? And in one of the most spookiest houses he had ever been in no less.
Walking backwards at the old interior around him too dark to really tell any details the sudden thud from upstairs sent a jolt of fear running through Aiden that he jumped in response.

Red in embarrasement of his own fear he tucked his arms closer to his chest hearing Jonathens preposterous idea.
"Upstairs! b-but you don't know whats up there! Isn't it safer to just to stay down here untill it gets lighter outside so we can see what we're doing and m-maybe get out of this p-place easier" Aidens fear reflected in the stutter of his voice as he jumped again at another noise before returning to attempt snuggling in his scarf again.

"W-what if we try the door again? The handle could just be frozen over.... r-right?" Aiden wanted more than anything for that to be true, it just had to be he didn't think he could handle it if it wasn't.

Akuziny stopped walking when she saw Asmodeus talking to her. "Yesterday? Whatever do you mean?" She asked sarcastically resting her hands on her lips. "Oh the human male in my room? Well he was just something to pass my time." She laughed at the thought before turning when she heard voices coming from downstairs. "You can drop by anytime in my room if you want to." Ziny smirked at him before walking away. She headed for the stairs following the voices. She could tell Dominic was down there already greeting them most likely. She peeked around the railing at the three males and one female. This looks like fun. A wicked smirk grew on her lips as she stepped down the front stair case.

"Well well well, look at what we have here." Once she got to the bottom she crossed her arms over her chest and studied the group before her. "Dominic I hope you didn't scare these lovely humans." She teased him before turning her gaze back onto the group. "You all seem...lost." She tilted her head to one side and studied them all. She could read the fear one one of the males faces. He seemed so frightened of the place. The thought of that made her laugh to herself. "Well my name is Akuziny." Aku smiled friendly though everyone who knew her knew it was just a front. She took a step closer to the one who looked scared and grabbed his chin to look at her. "Don't be scared, they won't eat you. Now I wish I could say the same for myself." She whispered into his ear before turning her back laughing. "I assume you guys were lost or something. You know it's rude for people to just enter into someone else's home right?"

She leaned against the railing of the stairs and looked rather coldly at the group. "If I were you I wouldn't go snooping through this house. I may not kill you, but this house isn't so kind to strangers such as yourselves." Another sadistic smirk grew on her lips before turning her head. "Please though by all means come in. It's not like you can leave here now anyways." Ziny smiled at the group as if she was joking. Really she didn't even know how to get out of this place. All she knew was this was her home and she loved it. "Now that I have told you a little about the house, how about I get your names?"

As always, Lexi had spent all morning--or night, running around the house in his usual routine. Honestly it was hard to tell whether it was supposed to be morning time or in the evening, there was no sun nor were there any accurate clocks in the house that displayed a correct time. It was always dark outside, the candles and lamps throughout the house were the only sources of light and since they were so far and few between it wasn't very bright. It never bothered him though, after all this time living in such a dim setting the sun probably would've just irritated him. Should he ever get the chance to see sunlight, would he even be able to stand it? This was one of the many questions that plagued Alexander Ravenwood, but since he was determined to be upbeat and optimistic he never dwelled on the headache-inducing questions.

"Whaaat's in here?!" An interesting ability he had, being a ghost and all, Lexi could take on an incomplete form that allowed him to travel through objects. It kept him entertained whenever he got bored. Currently he was going through different unoccupied rooms on the second story of the house solely for fun. The place was so weird, it always felt like it had a mind of it's own, random doors materializing out of no where and rooms just popping up or disappearing around the clock. It was a miracle Lexi was ever able to find his way back to his own room. Certain things stayed in place, like the kitchen, the bathrooms, and a few other rooms. He had walked through a wall and found himself standing in the middle of an empty room. There were candles mysteriously floating high in it's cathedral ceiling and a wall entirely made of glass. Outside he could see the woods and couldn't help but shudder at the thought of what the trees concealed.

"Yikes." Even for Lexi, the room was too eerie, he turned back around and quickly headed back for his room. Just as he got through the wall there was a knock on his door and he heard Akuziny's voice from the other side. "Kuku!" Lexi lunged for the door to follow the Siren's voice, he loved listening to her sing, but he failed to realize that he had changed back into a solid form. Bam. He'd crashed right into the door. "Ow...okay...ow." Lexi pouted silently then shifted to stand back up. No broken bones. He was okay. The boy opened the door like a normal human being would and walked out into the wall. Instantly his cerulean eyes fell on his favorite person in the house, Asmodeus. "Buddy!" He ran for the redhead and jumped on his back. "How are you?" Lexi knew how much he probably annoyed the demon and that's why he made sure to do it everyday. He nuzzled his nose against his neck before sliding back onto the floor and turning away. "We have guest, aren't you going to go greet them? Don't be rude!"

Just as quickly as he had appeared Lexi was gone again, this time slipping through the floor and dropping to the first level. He landed with a soft thud in the kitchen and sneaked through the rooms downstairs to where he heard the unfamiliar voices coming from. He didn't know what they were talking about but decided now was just as good a time to introduce himself as any. "Hi people! Oh wow visitors, you guys have no idea how long it's been since I've seen normal people stop by that Kuku hasn't kill-" Lexi stopped himself, it probably wasn't a good idea to talk about how often Akuziny killed their guest. He didn't want to scare them off, but then again, just like everyone else they were probably stuck in the house. "You'll learn to love it here, Red might look a little scary but he's kinda nice. Nic is is well...he's Nic, just don't bother him if he's hungry." Lexi was joking around but he didn't know if the newcomers would find anything he said funny. Just looking at them he could tell they were either scared or wondering how the hell they were supposed to get back home.

Johnny didn't look impressed at Aiden. Or the other Johnny, for that matter. He stayed firmly down at the bottom of the stairs, arms crossed. "Ah, trust me mate," he grunted, "Oi've seen plenty a' cans in me lifetime, an' trust me when I say yers ain't tha best oi've ever seen."

He then turned towards Aiden, and put on his snark face. "Ah, yer right," He said, smiling and flopping one hand in a gesture of flippant dismissal, "tha windows all seemed tae disappear at the same time along with every other way outta this house, but if I open this door, oh, then it's gonna come right open." He tugged at the doorknob, and nothing happened. "Well that was right surprisin', wasn't it?" He grunted, discontent. He looked up the stairs once, crossed his arms. Nobody there. He looked to Other Johnny and raised one eyebrow, then gestured at the stairs again. Then he shook his head rapidly, doing his best to sign out that there wasn't a chance in hell he was going up there.

By chance, he looked back up the stairs again, and what he saw made his heart skip about half a beat and one eyebrow quirk up. There were people there that weren't there before. Extraordinarily quiet people, apparently. One of them was dark, mysterious and broody; a generally unpleasant sort to Johnny, a sort that he only hung around when he was in an especially bad sulk. An attractive girl in a flowery dress. 'Not bad,' he thought inwardly, a halfway grin plastered across his face, 'but come back when ye're tall, dark an' male.' And the third one, kind of a midway point between the two; dressed like the dark broody one but hiding some sort of inner energy and optimism. He liked this guy the best out of the three that had showed up so far, he decided.

He addressed the girl, disregarding the other two at the first step. "Nae, ma'am," Johnny said in his brogue, "We werenae breakin' inta yer house. It was a mite balls-shrivellin'-ly cold outside an' yer house was intended as an abandoned place from tha outside, an' a brief respite from a buildin' storm. An' I have no intention a' stayin' here fer long enough ta screw with yer house properly." Then he turned towards the ghost.

"Ye might wanna finish that statement about tha girl; if she's gonna be goin' after me, I want tae know damn well first." He crossed his arms in front of him. "An' tall, dark an' broodin' over there shouldnae be a problem ta me, just as long as he stays outta my way if I get hungry. We Irish are known fer our appetites. Speakin' a' which," he said, moving up the stairs towards the three gathered up there, "this little detour made me miss Chinese night back home, an' as a result I'm a mite starvin, an' all I have are these granola bars in my pocket. An' I have no intention a' stayin' up there fer more time than it takes fer me ta get a meal. I'll be stayin' down here on tha ground floor; everythin' above this's creepy enough as it is."

"Now," Johnathan said, concluding his previous scatterbrained diatribe and moving on to another one, "Ah know th' tall one over there said none a' you knew a way out, but do any of ye have even the slightest clue as to a way back home fer me an' mine?" He stopped for a second. "Oh, an' where are me manners?" He suddenly intoned, holding a hand out to all three of the house's residents. "Johnny MacCreary, at yer services."

Dominic grinned as Akuziny passed him by to get to the lower level of the house. "Of course I haven't been scaring them," he told her, keeping that toothy smile on his face. "I was just viewing them. They look so helpless from up there..." His voice trailed off as he began to descend down the stairs after the Siren. He watched the look of panic on the humans' faces grow as not two, but three supernatural creatures began to crowd them. He wondered when the demon would arrive.

When Dominic's boots hit the wood of the first floor, he demonstrated a gracious and dramatic bow to his visitors. "I would be Nic," he said, leaning back up from his bow with his fangs on display in a white smile. He admitted, messing with strangers did become quite amusing over the past decade. Some had already screamed by this point, others had fainted, others just watched in disbelief. It was especially fun when they were this young and fresh... His crimson eyes flashed to Aiden, and Dominic found himself needing to distract his thoughts from the veins in Aiden's neck. He cleared his throat and looked away from the skittish boy, feeling almost embarrassed.

"I do hate to say this," he lied, "but I'm afraid you'll all likely be stuck here for quite some time. You'll find that the house certainly is not as it seems, and you'll learn what I mean by that in short time, I'm sure." Dominic confidently stepped toward the wall nearest the humans when he was sure he had their attention. "However, when you do get lost just call for help. One of us is bound to hear you, wherever we are," he looked to the other supernaturals in the room.

The house creaked somewhere upstairs as one of the rooms changed. It was a sound that Dominic had grown very used to, one that helped him relax when it was time to sleep. Enjoying his pretend-job as a darling host, he gave another smile, this one more gentle than the devilish grin he's so used to wearing. "Do any of you mind if I ask for your names?" Truth is, Dominic never asked anyone for their names out of simple curiosity. Dominic asked so that when he fed on them, it might feel more personal than just sucking on a stranger. Again, Dominic had to redirect his thoughts to something less sinister. His throat already ached for a drink and he'd just had one only a moment ago.

"liked my entry?" He smilled mischievously at nic, aki, and lexi,

Johnny's dismissal of Aidens suggestion of the door being frozen over only made him scowl at how he seemed to mock Aiden for even attempting to think of a reason for why they were trapped inside this house. Pouting he shuffled his feet fealing his fear sink in further when the realisation of their situation began to sink in.

However that seemed to be only the beginning of it, suddenly a tall, beautiful woman appeared on the stairs that Aiden dared not climb if it killed him. He seemed mesmorised by her for before noticing that she gazed at them all strangely introducing her name as Akuziny, then as she gracefully walkd forward she found her so close to him that his skin prickled at the shock her hand grabbing his chin making him whine for a sheer moment as she spoke "Don't be scared, they won't eat you. Now I wish I could say the same for myself."

Her words sent Aidens legs to wobbling jelly as he shook all over, what on earth was wrong with this house, they couldn't leave? The woman said herself, did she live here then? Her expression was so sadistic it made him cringe.
Then suddenly the sound of another male voice literally made Aiden jump as a shadowry figure stepped towards them from one of the downstairs rooms.
"Hi people! Oh wow visitors, you guys have no idea how long it's been since I've seen normal people stop by that Kuku hasn't kill-" his voice boomed high as Aiden found his feet moving closer towards Johnny, he normally tended to be the braver of the group and he Aiden feared being left alone with these strange people.
"You'll learn to love it here, Red might look a little scary but he's kinda nice. Nic is is well...he's Nic, just don't bother him if he's hungry." the boy continued confident and laid back as though he hadn't much of a care in the world.

Love it? in this place? Aiden highly doubted that.
And what did he mean dont bother 'Nic' if he was hungry? Did this other person get grouchy or something?
Aiden jumped again when another voice appeared accompained by a bow from a man who Aiden couldn't help but notice was rather beautiful. But that didn't dull the fear that ran through Aiden as the man's gaze fell on him his teeth unusual that Aiden thoughts began to run away from him to the point he had to duck his head in his scarf shivering with a bad omen.
This house was not to be trusted.

"T-There must be a way out right?" Aiden squeeked hopeful for an escape from this situation. Just as he made a loud noise in reaction to Asmodeus appearence, it frightened him so much it sent his head whizzled with questions he was sure he didnt want to know the answers too.
"W-what are you people, what do you want? W-why can't we leave" he rambled out of habit when nervous. He definietly wasn't going to tell such scary people his name.

Akuziny looked at Lexi as he came down. "Oh you're awake now?" She teased him knowing he doesn't sleep at all. She loved how her and Lexi were polar opposites. He was nicer while she was cold to most people. She looked at the one who introduced himself as Johnny and smiled at him. "What my friend was going to say, is I kill a lot of humans. No worries though, I just had my fix yesterday." She smirked remembering the human male she had lured into her grasp. He was fairly easy to get too. He didn't put up a fight until he realized the true danger he was in. Aku loved how her looks tended to fool people. Her eyes wondered over to Dominic seeing him staring at the poor boy's neck. She walked over to him and slung her arm around his shoulder. "Don't hold back Domy, I'm sure he taste delicious."

She cooed before laughing. She let her arm drop to her side as she saw someone else coming. Asmodeus. "Smooth entry indeed." She laughed again before calming herself down to look back at the group of humans. She could smell the fear on the smaller one. Crossing her arms in front of her chest she studied him a little more. "Domy I think he is just your type." She cocked her head to the side looking at the boy more. Her eyes moved away from him temporarily before looking back again. "What you don't want to stay and play for a while?" She pouted as if she truly cared rather he stayed or not. "No dear you can't leave cause we can't eave. I can assure you there is no way out of here." Her voice was cold but her face held amusement in it. "I think you guys will love it here, so don't worry about a way out."

Normally she would have tried to kill them all now, but it was just too much fun to tease them. "Well can't you tell what we are? We are clearly not humans, cause we would have either been killed or killed ourselves after staying here for so long." Aku spoke with a hint of disdain in her voice. "I'm a Siren just in case you didn't know." They couldn't have known what she was cause out of all of her other roommates, she looked the most human.

#, as written by Cypher
Johnny was just minding his business at the top of the stairs, having a staring contest with Dominic. The fangs didn't really scare him, he'd seen sharper canines on the local rich girl's purse-dog and, to be honest, he was so jaded about vampires that he just didn't care any more. He was about to come back at Dominic with a witty retort when there was the sound of something appearing behind him; the whoosh of air being displaced by a body. Alerted to this new presence by a sudden voice, Johnny turned around and saw...

"An' just what in tha hell're you supposed ta be?" Johnny grunted, crossing his arms as he looked at Asmodeus. "Well," he added, going into snark-mode again, "aside from a transvestite weaboo dressed up like a Ruroni Kenshin cosplayer, but then again who am I ta judge yer lifestyle choices when I'm so obviously a flamin' homosexual?" He shrugged, then turned back to the three more relatively normal houseguests just as Akuziny began speaking again, noticing vaguely in his peripherals that Aiden was creeping in closer. Of course he was; Johnathan was as of right now the only block of stability and calm in the shaky wall of sanity in this house. He put a protective hand on the guy's left shoulder and looked back towards the rest of the house's denizens. "Ye'd best be askin' his permission 'afore ye decide ta be goin' an' eatin' any a' the people here with me," Johnny stated defiantly, looking up at Akuziny.

"An' oi have no intention a' stayin' here fer long. I'll be gettin' outta here as soon as oi can figure out a way, an' taken my mates with me." He scowled. "An' thanks fer tellin me what ye actually are; saves me th' trouble a' playin' tha "guess what evil mythological creature's gonna kill us an' rape the corpses" game with you. Now, as fer the others..." And then Johnny did the unthinkable. He walked brazenly up the steps and got up close and personal with the house's residents. The first person he looked at was Lexi.

"Now. You seemed ta just appear outta nowhere, yer too quiet, and I cannae hear a pulse, so yer either a ghost or a dancer, an' I'm inclined ta think tha first one would be tha right guess, correct?" Without waiting for an answer, he moved on to Dominic. He pointed at his mouth and was even so brazen as to lift his upper lip and indicate the fang beneath. "As fer you, if'n that wasn't enough of a dead giveaway right there you should just turn 'round and go home 'coz he's most definitely a vampire. Just as long as ye don't sparkle oi reckon we should get along just fine." Then he looked back down the stairs at Asmodeus. A moment passed. Then another one.

Finally, Johnny shrugged. "Oi got no clue what in th' hell you are, so oi'm just gonna stick with my first guess there, bud." Then he turned back to Akuziny. "Now, about that meal oi asked about earlier..."

"I very much agree," Dominic said, referring to Akuziny's comment on the skittish one being delicious, and being his type. He didn't say anymore on the subject, afraid that he would scare the poor boy into avoiding him even more than he already would be. Dominic really would enjoy getting on the good side of this boy. It would just take time, and some space, to convince him to feel comfortable around him. At least, he hoped he was on the right track.

Dominic considered biting off the finger that had pulled up his lip to reveal his fangs. However, he grinned instead. This man was bold and unafraid. Maybe one of the four of them could scare him eventually--it could be like a contest, almost...a race to see who could smell fear on him first. However, it would be a difficult challenge. This man seemed like he would laugh in the face of a ten-foot-tall grizzly. Dominic's thoughts began trailing to ideas. Illusions may get to him, if one of them could figure out what really does scare him. Would the blood of one of Dominic's victims even phase the man if he smeared it all over his new bedroom? Or perhaps a constant common fear would eventually get to him. The thoughts continued as Johnny moved on to the demon.

What he said about sparkling, however, confused him. Dominic couldn't help but chuckle and mumble to himself, "Why the hell would I sparkle?" The very image in his head made him laugh. Maybe he'd just been stuck in this house for too long and he's just not "up-to-date" with the legends of the outside world anymore. Regardless, a sparkling vampire very much amused him. That's almost like saying someone who didn't drink human blood was a vampire. Very contradictory.
