Dutel Marx's Story

I hear fast foot steps coming closer and closer to me. I stop watering the plants and the foot steps stops as well." DUTEL!! DUTEL!,where are you?" I ignore my mother intending to avoid another pointless story about her past life as a peasant. "DUTEL! DUTEL!!", out of irritation I scream,"MOTHER I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR USELESS STORIES I AM GETTING QUITE SICK OF THEM". "Dutel where are you i want to see the surprise on your face when you see this".Out of slight curiosity i decided to tell her that i'm located in the garden. She quickly comes in with a doltish smile on her face. my curiosity rises to a point where i wanted to strangle her so she could show the thing she was so excited over. "Out with it mother what is it, have you gotten another prized horse from father?i say, "No" she says "its something even better" she presents to me a white envelope.

I see an intricate stamp in the middle of the envelope with the words "WELCOME" printed in bold underneath . A grin comes over my face,"so you and father finally found a wizard school for me eh?". "I'm not quite sure if this school just focuses on wizardry, but the person that gave me the credentials to the school said wizardry is in the program" she says. "Does father know about this"?. "No but i'm sure he will be utterly surprised"she says. I remember about the plants and start to water them again. "When does it start mother" I ask, "I don't know" she says with a shrug."It should be in the letter". I gently tear the envelope and read the letter inside. "MOTHER!" i shout "it says It starts tomorrow". "Well you should start packing" she says giggly. "PACK WHAT?"i say out of frustration "I HAVE NO UNIFORM MOTHER" I shake my head out of disbelieve.

"OO Dutel you must not get so angry all the time, i'll go buy you some uniforms" She leaves the room with haste. I quickly leave the garden and head up the stairs leading to my room. I get out one of my many suitcases and start packing some luxuries and necessities. I hear my mother starting up the car, i look out the window and watch her slowly recede away from the house.

I set foot into Valor Gale, I notice the bright the exuberant atmosphere and feel an instant sense of welcome. I look behind me expecting to see the dark silhouette of my mother. After looking for a vast amount of time I ultimately determine that she left without a second thought. The realization of what i am doing quickly hits me and the atmosphere that i felt was once cheerful now turned into the complete opposite. I feel beads of sweat steadily drizzling across my forehead.

I start making my way to my dorm avoiding as much eye contact. I hear laughter every which way taking it no longer i look up and see no one is paying me no mind I quicken my pace to my dorm.I spot a cluster of small blue colored houses i head over to the cluster knowing it must be the dorms.I look at the first building i come across and I see the numbers "1290" i take out a beige colored note paper out of the left pocket of my pants and see the numbers "1279" inscribed on it. I head to the next dorm to the right and see the numbers "1283" i keep on going right and i find the right dorm. I get a key from the same pocket and open the dorm. I go into the dorm and notice how hard it is to breath in it. I search for the bed room.

After ten minutes of exploring the dorm i take out everything out my suitcase and head to my first class.

Tip dug through her next nervously looking for a ring, "Mmm!" She said biting her lip and as she poked her head in there she twitched her ears which felt very uncortable in the desk,

"Tip..." Her friend Ariel asked and she groaned hearing her speak and replied "No..." She said and swayed her tail around twitching hearing movement "someone's here! It's a boy!" Tip said loudly making everyone look at her with her head stuck in the desk and she was blushing of pure embrassment, "L-Look away! Alright Tip I'll try" Ariel said using her magic to try and remove the desk and Tip from each other which worked but failed when Ariel flinged her wand in the air along with Tip as she fell on the ground.

"T-Tip so sorry!" Ariel said,

Tip groaned flattening her ears "I-It's okay..." She said not able to move.

I look for my first class and after 3 minutes of being lost and asking questions I i finally find the class. With trembling hands i slowly attempt turn the door knob . My hands extremely sweaty slip of the knob, irritated i calm down and attempt to open the door again. Successfully opening the door i enter the class room and is greeted by a girl with her head stuck in the desk that screams, "someone's here! it's a boy!" . She then screams "look away" after realizing how loud she was . I stare at the girl for a few seconds before she is flung into the air and lands on lands on her back.

Surprised by the events that just took place the fear i once had slowly fades away and i cant help but snicker at the girl then i notice her ears. I suddenly feel like there is an apple in my throat, then I notice her tail my heart completely stops, realizing i was not breathing i attempt to inhale but fail. I feel my hand start to shake uncontrollably, i just cant believe that things other than humans exist. I look around the class room and see creatures of different shapes colors and sizes eventually i find my self starting to breath i try to move but realize that i am paralyzed with panic. I start to feel very hot and i start to perspire even more, my vision becomes fuzzy. Everyone in the classroom turn their attention from the girl to me.

"Ummm... Ms. i think something is wrong with the new student" I look to the kid who said this and sees that his body is covered with long pitch-black hair i see two fangs as long as my index finger protruding from his upper lip. Looking at him finally made me recover from my temporary paralysis a sharp shrill escapes my mouth. I get up open the door and bolt out the class, i try to make a sharp turn to reach the exit to the building but slip and skid 15 feet and hit my head on the wall.

Everything goes black.

Tip and Ariel carried the boy to the nursing office, "....he thinks I'm a freak doesn't he...Well that's one way to say HI to someone!" Tip said angrily flattening her ears and pouting as she sat in the chair,

"Says here hes a wizard" The nurse said putting a wet towel on Dutel's forehead, "He was probably shocked seeing a Neko" he added adjusting his glasses,

"...I don't want him here..if he thinks I'm a freak then..." Tip clutched her fist, and began to cry she then screamed, "THIS SCHOOL IS FOR EVERYONE AND EVERYONE TOO FIT IN NO ONE IS DIFFERENT SO SPOILED RICH KID NEEDS TOO LEAVE! MOM AND DAD WOULD NEVER TAKE SUCH RUDENESS!"

"Tip...He wasn't being rude he was scared.." The nurse said but Tip had stormed out forgetting her bag in the room and the Nurse sighed,

I wake up and find my self sprawled out on a bed. Looking around i realize that i'm not in my dorm but in a hospital of some sorts i then remember that i'm in Valor Glade and this must be the nurses office. I become aware that i am extremely thirsty
"nurse i require water i'm quite parched" .

The nurse pulls back the curtain surrounding my bed, lookes at me he smiles and comes closer.

"O so your finally awake, you've been out for hours" . He hands me a cup of water which i gulp down in three swigs. I hand him the cup intending for more water. "Wha... what happened?" i ask, the nurse takes the cup from my hands and heads over to a sink he then refills the cup. Seeing that the water i just drank came from a sink sends ripples of disgust up my spine. "Students from room 331 say that u stared at Tip for a few seconds you saw her tail and ears then you began to freak out and dashed out the class room. Then you tripped on something and knocked your head in the wall" .

He hands me the cup, reluctantly i take the cup and drink the water. The memories of what i saw in the class begins to come back chunk by chunk i quickly look at the nurse to see if he was human and a wave of relief washes over me when i realize he is. A sudden sharp pain enters my head and my hands reach towards my head, i touch it and realize that it is bandaged fear questions quickly pop up in my mind.

The nurse reading my face smiles and says "Don't worry Dutel that size of an injury wont leave a scar it will heal in a week at most, your lucky u hit the wall after skidding so far if you had hit it earlier more damage would of been done. You can go back to class anytime you like just not today" .

Satisfied with his service the nurse pulls back the curtain. I hear him slowly walk away from the bad. "what have i gotten myself into" i think to myself.

Tip was told to bring lunch for Dutel and she disliked the Idea she tapped her tail on the wall in a pissed off matter and looked to see her older sister Andrea the second school nurse walk in with a wave of her wand the door open and the curtains Dutel was in opened as well,

"Andrea what are you doing here?" The male nurse said,

"Ryan I'm taking my shift as ordered now has he ate?" Andrea asked putting on some gloves and tilting Dutels head back looking him in the eyes with a flashlight,

"No, Tip is bringing something.." Ryan said yawning, Andrea let Dutels chin down and tapped her foot on the ground rubbing her neck she saw Tip walk in, "Well don't stand there give it to him" Andrea said and Tip hurriedly gave Dutel the food which was a Sub sandwich, a apple, and a bag of chips with a smoothie,

"Tip this is Du-"

"We met" Tip said glaring at him and flicking her ears.

"oh well then..." Andrea said.

I am awakened by the sound of muffled talking. I blink rapidly attempting to get out of my drowsiness, i see the nurse talking to a woman . I notice that she has pointed ears and a tail just like the other one but she is much more taller and she is wearing a nurses uniform. I then notice the other girl that was lifted in the air outside the door, her tail was hitting the wall very aggressively. My body wanted to run but i knew if i went through the door i would have to confront the girl.

"Ryan I'm taking my shift as ordered now has he ate?' Hearing her voice made me snap out of the frightened state i was in, i didn't anticipate her voice being so normal. I expected her voice to have a hiss to it and also it wasn't as high pitched as I thought indicating her age was much more than i could ever reckon.

She takes out a pair of gloves out of her left pocket and puts them on she then approaches me. She makes a move for my forehead I flinch at first but knowing making a fuss will lengthen the process of what she was about to do I relax. She takes out a flash light from her pocket and examines my eye.

Some time later the other girl comes over to me with a smug look on her face. She hands me food glaring at me. "Tip this is Du-" . "We've met" , "Oh well then" .

I stop looking at her ears and tails and move my eyes to her face, her facial expression is plastered with rage. I suddenly feel threatened and try to say something but my voice cracks and I start coughing hysterically.I glance into her eyes and the impression I had of her quickly changed. I cant stop staring into her eyes I finally realize what i am doing and try to avoid eye contact, I feel my face getting extremely hot and i turn to my side.

I slowly eat my sandwich embarrassed for staring.

"Whatever.., I'm going to get my own lunch bye Big Sis" Tip said as she swayed her tail noticing she had left her bag her, Andrea picked the brown butterfly backpack tossing it to Tip and she smiled a bit before racing out the door to get lunch, Ryan sat back in his chair eating his sushi and chuckled at Dutel and so did Andrea taking a seat by Dutel she got out her own hot meal which was some curry,

"Why we're you staring at Tip, Thought she freaked you out" Andrea said leaning her head back and taking a bite of her Curry,

"Maybe new boy thought she was cute" Ryan said jokingly.

"Maybe, you thought I was a cutie when I went here also" Andrea said making Ryan blush and look away, and Andrea giggled.
