PERSONALITY
Dom has always been hot-headed. Impulsive. Stubborn. He is a young man driven by impulse and emotion, fierce and bold and almost humorously prideful. He's never been particularly good at keeping his temper in check, and said temper has always had a knack for flaring up; particularly when touchy subjects are addressed, or when the people he cares about are in any way hurt or insulted. In a way, his ferocity is a defense mechanism; a way of maintaining a 'tough' demeanor in the face of trouble, embarrassment, or weakness. His temper also likes to pick favourites, and his touch of violence tends to be directed towards furniture as opposed to people. He isn't really violent, and he is certainly not the sort to harm someone purely out of annoyance or random aggression. However, he is a troublemaker through and through, a source of ire for teachers. Not necessarily because of mischievousness or a general intentional defiance of rules; but his damn pride. When a fight or argument or anything along those lines is opposed, or when Dom's pride is challenged, he is seemingly incapable of backing down. As far as Dom is concerned, a bloody nose or a sprained limb is far less painful an affliction than the horrific suffering that comes from humiliation or degradation. And when the pride of his loved ones is threatened, why, his already fiery temper shifts to inferno. He isn't the sort to pursue violence, but he certainly does not fear it, and when push comes to shove... well, he'll be perfectly willing to push and shove back.

Oddly enough, Dom's pride has never reached the level of vanity or arrogance. In fact, he is very awkward at times. His lies are about as see-through as cellophane, and he is the sort to hide embarrassment with unsubtle barbs and awkward coughs. He is extremely protective of those he cares about, and when around them, is more teddy bear as opposed to his typical grizzly image. He doesn't like said image to be damaged, thus he typical shrugs off and scoffs at compliments or flirtations... only to puff up with pride whenever said complimenter's back is turned. He is someone that doesn't like to drag attention unto himself, and will go to endless means to help someone without their knowledge, only to never mention it or take credit. As much as Dom would deny it, beneath his tough guy exterior, he's a total softie.

Fiercely loyal, with a strong sense of justice, Dominic has always had qualms with his family's way of life. He regards all blood statuses as equal, although a part of him fears speaking out against his family. Being the future heir of the Hahn Clan has resulted in him being the center of attention at many family gatherings, as well as an immense amount of pressure. This pressure does not stop him from often muttering things at Fee's defense, but a sense of self-loathing is instilled in him; a hatred towards the fact that he isn't brave enough. To speak loudly, to fight against the Hahn values, to defy. Perhaps as a result, he overcompensates, by being aggressively courageous, defensive and reckless in everything else.

00000...Remington's academic year is in full swing. The leaves began to turn deep shades of red and rusted oranges. Students study for their OWLs or practice Quodpot out in the quad. And when the free time comes they prepare for the All Hollows Eve Ball that will commence in a weeks time. A celebratory dance to celebrate the new world order, Remington and her students. Now starts another week of classes bright and early an autumn Monday morning.

Being the morning bird she was, Moira was up long before the sound of her alarm or the starting of the chirps outside her window. She was to the baths and back before another student even stirred in their beds. She'd be lying if she denied the fact that she spent more than what was necessary on her appearance. But it seemed to be one of the few things she had control over in her life so she insisted on doing it regardless of time.

Unlike his sister, Ramsey hated the bloody morning and would much rather spend the remainder of the day in bed. He detested going to class nearly as much as he hated the school and practically everyone in it. He growled at the annoying noise that was his alarm clock blaring in his ears. He tried to roll over and smother his head in the pillow but to no avail. With a growl he yanked the clock from the wall then chucked it across the room at Drachen's head. "Oy! Asshole!"

He stumbled out of his bed, cursing as he stumbled over the mess of shit they left strewn upon the floor. Ramsey shuffled his way around the room in just his boxers, scratching his abdomen while yawning. He looked back over to Drachen, rolling his eyes. "Get up you lazy ass!" He ripped the blanket from him and chucked it across the room.

It didn't take long for him to get dressed in his far too expensive uniform. He snatched up his books and let Lenox, his quite large and hairy tarantula climb its way up onto his shoulder. "I'm going to go get Moira. You coming?" He slid on a pair of sunglasses while looking back towards Drachen.

Moira had finally finished getting ready just on schedule like every other day. She scooped up her books and slid them into her backpack. When she went to reach for her wand her hand started to feel around but came up empty handed. "Where in the world..." She whispered to herself as she looked around. Her eyes locked on her mischievous kitty, "Jinx?" Moira smiled as she walked over to her cat, carefully scooping her up into her arms finding her wand beneath her. "Stinker."

After finishing to collect her things, she headed out of her room only to be stopped running straight into a wall of a chest. She slowly glances up with a smile on her facing. But it quickly fades when she locked eyes with a hairy spider. She thought that maybe it was someone else and instead it was her brother. "A smile for me? You're too kind."

She scoffed, "I thought you... Were someone else." She held the door open waiting for her cat to prance out after her.

"Might I ask who you were expecting then?" He put his hand against the wall, blocking her in the doorway.

"No one." She slammed the door behind her and ducked under his arm.

Ramsey clenched his jaw as he shifted to offer his arm to his sister, "Come Moira, time for Divination."

Moira picked up Jinx and began to stroke her ears as she paced around the common room. "I do know how to get there brother." She had no desire to walk there with her brother because that not only meant him but most likely Drachen as well. Instead she continued to doddle around the common room hoping that someone else would walk past and save her from having to accompany her brother.

Ramsey slammed his fist against a near by table which made Moira jump and Jinx just about jump from her arms. She held her breath waiting for the price of denying him, but thankfully before he could do something a couple Laveau students walked through the common room waving towards her, "Hi Moira!" She waved back with a smile.

He angrily pushed off the table, "Don't be late for class or Father will hear about it." Without another word he adjusted his blazer and made his way to class, leaving Moira waiting in the common room.

Ramsey got to class with plenty of time to spare. He took his usual seat towards the back in the darkest corner of the room. He kicked the chair in front of it, spinning it around so he had a foot rest. He then leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest and waited, staring at the door.

Chase was sound asleep for far too long and would have remained so if it weren't for the sounds of already loud and rambunctious Fawkes kids weren't running around the common room. His blanket had long abandoned him somewhere in the middle of the night, along with an arm and leg both dangling over the edge of the bed. When the scream of a first year echoed outside his door he startled awake and fell to the ground. "What did I miss?" He wiped drool from his cheek as he looked around lethargically.

It 3 yawns and a good couple dozen of rubs to his eyes before he was able to actually open them enough to look at the clock. When he was able to read what it said he was up faster than he thought was possible, "Shit!!" He darted around the room, stubbing his toe on something new every second or two. "God dammit..."

Somehow he managed to get dressed in 2 minutes flat. His shirt tail was untucked, tie untied just dangling around his neck and a vest loosely draped on his shoulders. He ran out of his room shutting the door behind him. After a second or two he ran back, "Fritz!"" The dark ferret scurried out from under the blanket on the floor. Chase quickly snatched him up and placed him in his backpack. He grabbed a beanie that laid on the ground and then sprinted for class.

He was nearly to class, tugging the hat onto his head to cover his messy bed head. But then he was stopped dead in his steps when he nearly slammed in Professor Blackwood. "Professor."

He nodded his head before going to run around him. He was almost in the clear when the teacher grabbed him by his backpack and spun him around. "Not so fast."

Chase sighed, "What is it this time?" He said while sloppily tucking in half of his shirt.

"Get that uniform tidied up before class or you'll get another detention. Unless you'd fancy cleaning the owlery... Again." Professor Blackwood smiled slightly before nodding his head for Chase to hurry off.

He smiled towards the teacher, "Thanks!" He then continued towards class while finishing tucking in his shirt and tying his necktie.

Chase entered the class room not a moment after he finally got his uniform in order. He let out a relieved sigh before making his way to a table somewhere in the middle of the classroom. Once he sat down, Fritz wasted no time in running out of the backpack and moving to curl up into a ball in his lap.

Another monday morning had appeared out of nowhere - just like the weekend just passed by on a firebold broomstick. Another week with classes and probably even more homework was ahead of them. And not to mention the All Hollows Eve Ball taking place in just a weeks time! Making most of the girls giggle in expectation, and most of the boys just walk around mumbling and being nervous.

The season was getting darker, and autumn was showing clearly. The leaves turning in to different shades of yellow, orange and red. Giving the illusion of the tree's being on fire. Rain season had begun. And whenever it happened to rain, the drops where smattering softly against the leaves creating a calming sound very fitting to the beautiful season. As the weather was getting harsher - so was the waves further down at the gulf of Maine. Smashing against the cliffs as a result of the winds and the currents.

For a change, the sky was clear today. Making a stream of sunlight finding its way between the red velvet curtains in Tim's room. He was already awake. Not that he was a "morning person", but rather not sleeping much at all - resulting in a slight shade of dark bags under his black eyes. Instead of studying or spending time on his appearance, he was killing the time with push ups.

In the corner of his eyes he could catch a glimpse of his black rat Nightmare, who was climbing up his bed and making hissing noises.
"Don't give me that look Mary! Just a couple more!" he gasped as the sweat trickled down his face. Doing a couple more push-ups, he then stood up and grinned. "200!" he said and wiped his forehead. Being topless, he did not have to worry about any tshirt getting sweaty. But he did have to freshen up, shower, before classes. So he headed for the baths, but stopped on the way like he'd forgotten something. "Oh right!" he said as he went back to the desk, pulling out a drawer and finding half of a meatball he'd snuck out from dinner yesterday. "Here you go my lady" he said in a joking "noble" tone as he gave the food to the black rat sitting on his bed. She grabbed it from his hand and immediately started to munch on it, making her whiskers twitch up and down as she was chewing.

Timothy was not the guy to care for his appearance. After washing away all the sweat and now smelling "presentable". He just took some quick strokes with the toothbrush, putting on some deo and perfume and slipped on a pair of black pants (tight around his ankles and a bit baggy around the bum), a white shirt and a grey knitted cardigan. The neck tie was one of his "things" always wearing ones with chaotic patterns on. Today wearing a checked one.

His hair was still wet (almost dripping) when he left the dormitory and headed for the divination classroom. He let his fingers slide through the blond locks, almost making his hair even more messy. That rule with "hair should be coiffed" was not a possibility for Tim. His hair was just naturally a curly chaos, making even the teachers realize the fact and start to give up.

Being a "night person", Yona hated mornings.. especially monday mornings. She was still asleep, her leg wrapped around the blanket "embracing it" as she sleep like a log. Her golden hair was spread out on the pillow, almost looking like some kind of gloria around her peaceful face.

"Thats not how you brew a wiggenweld potion... " she mumbled and turned around in her bed. Leiyona was quite famous for talking in her sleep, whether she liked it or not. Her biggest fear was probably blurting out something brutally honest (hurting someone) or talking during the nightmares she sometimes had about her fathers death. Not that she thought her roomie, Ophelia, would judge her. But Yona was not ready to open up quite yet. Instead, she was always putting on that "brave" facade.

Her beauty sleep was interrupted by the sound of the alarm, making Yona wrinkle her nose and yawn. She fumbled for the clock and was eager to turn off the terrible noise giving her headache. She stood up on wobbly legs and dragged herself out in to the little living room she shared with Fee. Scratching her leg and heading for Ophelias room, almost in a zombie-like state. Instead of bursting in, she just knocked on her door, letting out another yawn."Rise and shine beautiful" she said before heading to the bathroom. Only wearing panties and an ugly oversize tshirt - she started to get ready for the day. Yona was not the girl to "spend hours" on her appearance. She was like a robot in the morning, and did what she had to do. To be able to sleep for as long as possible, she compromised it by being very efficient.

Getting cleaned up, brushing her teeth, putting on her make up. Mainly being a pitch black dip-liner giving her the "cat eye" look. Back to her room - putting on her school uniform. White button up shirt with a big black neck bow, brown cardigan with black buttons, black short pleated skirt. Nude pantyhoses and beige over knee socks with 2 white stripes on. The over knee socks being her attribute to the otherwise boring dress code.

She combed her hair and styled it in two braids before feeling "satisfied". Before leaving for divination class, she went for her bed to pick up her backpack with books. Giving Gulliwer, her beautiful orange bengal cat, a few strokes- making him purr.
"Im leaving for class Fee!" she announced before walking out from the dormitory and steering her steps towards the classroom.

Image
On his way to class, Tim recognized the familiar backside of Leiyona. The two golden braids and the over knee socks giving her away. Since she still had the "upper hand" on their pranking games, he decided to get revenge. A bright smile appeared on his face as he sneaked up behind her, putting his fingers to each side of her tiny waist.

"Iiiiiiiiihh" a loud squeak sounded as she half jumped while turning around. Not that she was surprised, looking up and facing the tall and goofy figure of Timothy Cohen. Sighting when seeing the spark in his black eyes and the smug smile on his lips, flashing his distinct smile dimples. Yona just gave him her famous "furious look", almost having flames in her pupils.

"You will pay for this! Remember the worms in your spaghetti? I can do much worse. Just wait and see" she said with a serious, steady and sharp voice. Exposing a slight tone of her Scottish accent. Put together, meaning she meant business. She corrected her cardigan, rolling her eyes while turning around tripping off for class not waiting for Tim at all. She sat down at the back of the classroom, close to the windows and sank down. Leaning her face forward, almost lying down on the desk - not much different from a melted puddle. Divination was not one of her strengths. It was however something she believed in, even so- still being her precious "nap time" and making her yawn.

Image
Tim on the other hand, was taking a seat close to Chase. "Blue" he greeted him just nodding short. Then leaning forward and letting the dark eyes gaze down in Chase's lap - seeing the little black ferret curled up in a ball.
"Hello there little friend" he said, looking down. Reaching forward with his arm to stroke the extremely soft fur - just 2 soft strokes before leaning back on his chair again.

The whole thing probably looked extremely wrong/comical to the ones not knowing Fritz was lying in Chase's lap. But that was just typical Tim. Not respecting personal space, not thinking of his surroundings and very often doing awkward things / saying something that could be misinterpreted. He pulled out the books, dropping them on the desk with a muted thud. Before gazing over his shoulder (looking at the door) to see who else would show up...

From a stranger's point of view, the cold weather was turning the trees bashful; making their branches shiver and causing their leaves to blush. The year had come as it always did: unfalteringly post-haste, and already the students of Remington Academy were seeing its back.

And yet, there was still so much to be done. Exams, quodpot, inevitable drama... and, of course, the All Hallow's Eve Ball. Halloween on its own was a popular time for the magical folk of the world; potions could be brewed more effectively, divination flowed more freely even into the most closed-off of minds, and magic in general seemed to shiver with anticipation cum October 31st. But with the Ball, there was all the more reason to celebrate. Finally, for one night, students would have the opportune moment to abandon their worries, concerns, troubles, and inhibitions, in favor of freedom and music and fun.

But first they'd have to sit impatiently through one more week of lessons and learning, much to their undoubted chagrin.

Despite the clustering grey that covered the sky, sunlight somehow managed to filter through the drawn curtains. The morning frost glittered outside, and in peaceful slumber, the figure lay beneath layers of fleece and sheet. At least, until a sharp beak clenched down hard on his unprotected ear.

"Ow! Myong mi-?!" An angry hand appeared from beneath the covers, swatting angrily at the barred owl. As the figure raised his head, the bird squawked indignantly, hopping deftly away. Dominic appeared with gritted teeth, raising his other hand to his ear. He noted the blood the cut left on his fingers with annoyance, scowling at the bird as it flew to safety atop the dresser. "Ya! Ikun mwoya?!" The owl only squawked again, and the boy heaved a frustrated sigh as he climbed out of bed. Stopping by the mirror, he inspected the short nick on his ear, rubbing the line of red away with his thumb before grabbing his uniform and getting changed.

By the time he was out the door and on his way to divination, the thin touch of red on the top of his left ear was collecting together and threatening to spill again. It would seem his blood was as stubborn as he himself.

Hardly one for rules or tidiness, Dom's shirt was half untucked, and the black studs (or 'monstrocities', as Professor Wolfart had called them) that adorned his earlobes were enchanted, the white text to change depending on his mood. Right now, they read 'zzz'. Apparently he was still tired.

Walking into the classroom, his eyes quickly scanned the desks. Noting Mac's current absence, Dom walked over to where Vincent and Chase sat, shooting them a lopsided smile as he passed them to sit at the desk behind them.

Fee awoke far more comfortably than her cousin did; to a pleasant voice calling through her door as opposed to a grouchy familiar tearing a hole in her earlobe. Still, however, she moaned in annoyance, pulling the duvet over her head. It wasn't that she didn't like mornings, quite the opposite, in fact. Fee loved the hues of dawn, and the way frost made the grass glitter, and the way the world seemed to wake up all at once. But Fee liked lazy mornings. The mornings when you could rise at your own accord, and wander about your home at a relaxed pace. Sit on the couch for a little while. Read a book. Listen to some music. Drink a cup of cocoa or eight.

This was, unfortunately, a decidedly unlazy morning. And for that reason, despite her urge to remain cozy under her covers, Fee slid out of bed. In a zombie-like state, she wandered in her pajamas down to the common room, plucked a plate from the pantry, upon which a slice of french toast magically appeared. Then she turned on her heel and returned to her dorm room. By this point, her fellow Orendas had learnt not to bother communicating with her. Whilst in zombie-mode, she wasn't exactly communicative, and someone could probably blow up the common around her and she wouldn't notice. They'd have better luck waiting for a post-shower Fee.

After said shower, Fee was considerably more awake. Putting on her uniform and slipping a woolen cardigan over her shoulders -house colors, of course- she made her way to divination. Catching sight of her professor in the hallway, Fee smiled.

"Morning, Professor."

Professor Kang surveyed her, expression humored. "Indeed it is." A single, manicured finger rose to the corner of her mouth, tapping it in indication. With a frown, Fee looked at her reflection in the corridor window. After a sharp, horrified intake of breath, she rubbed aggressively at the toothpaste smudge that marred the edge of her mouth.

"Thank you, professor." A smile tugged at Kang's features, and Fee followed her into the divination classroom.

By the time Fee had made her way to the desk beside Vincent, and offered the group a friendly, "Hey," The smile had returned to her features.

Professor Kang, meanwhile, was back to her typical, calm and collected expression. "Good morning, everyone. I trust you all had a good weekend."

Kieran laid on her back lost in sleep... Well, not entirely. Kieran was never one to really get much as she spent most of her nights up studying with the aid of charms and muggle Red Bull to keep her awake until she felt satisfied with what she accomplished. Though even nights she managed to rest, Kieran always awoke from flashbacks and nightmares. Much like today, Kieran had attempted for get some form of sleep but accomplished next to nothing. She instead just laid in her bed with her eyes clothes listening to her roommate awake and move about the room. Kieran pulled her covers up to hide away in her blanket shield only to have Helena penetrate it by pulling the covers down.

"Time to wake up, my love. You don't want to suffer being late for class." Her lips felt soft like velvet against her ear and her felt warm but sent shivers down her spine. Kieran did her best not to stir just as Helena decided to kiss her forehead. Kieran kept her eyes shut refusing to look at her roommate and allow herself to be toyed with like a game of cat and mouse.

Helena was finally out of the room giving Kieran to open her eyes and breathe a loud sigh of relief. That the divines that was finally over before Kieran caved into her own temptations like so many times before. Kieran just hoped her will would stay strong this week with O.W.L.S as that seemed to be the only thing on Kieran's mind. She didn't really put any thought towards the dance and personally saw no use in attending if the 'precious' Eld's weren't insisting on her attendance with them.

Kieran threw herself out of her bed only to have Boomer come fling out with her. "Bitch!" Kieran rolled her eyes. "Don't be so dramatic, Boomer." She walked around the room throwing her typical outfit together for the day. Kieran was not too found of the dress code though she had been thrown in detention enough times to at least put some effort into her outfits. She dressed herself and began to put her favored gauges into her ear before begrudgingly putting on her tie. She honestly looked more like a boy with long hair and eyeliner on at this point than a girl but she liked it and was out the door with Boomer running up her leg and clinging his claws on the back of her Letterman jacket.

This mornings distraction had caused Kieran not to be the first one in the room one of the first times in her life as she was always overly punctual to every class even if she hated any of them. The same went for Divination as Kieran saw no point to the class but still made a habit of coming in early.

Now Kieran was faced with the decision of where to sit. The simplest choice would be with the equally hated Ramsey Blackwood and Drachen Eld along with Helena though Kieran despised having to breathe the same air as them if she could actually knew what hate genuinely felt like other than the description of emotions. She decided she'd instead rile up Drachen's feathers but taking a seat next to one of the few real friends she has in this school... Chase Beckett and Dominic Hahn. She didn't entirely get along with the others seated at the table though it was totally worth how hysterical Drachen was going to get with her later.

Koda had been woken up when a white fur ball by the name of Micco decided to lay on his face after Koda ignored his alarm. Koda groaned at his well trained stoat forcing him to get up for the day but caved out of annoyance. He first allowed Micco the step off him before following by getting out of bed knowing fully well Micco would get nippy if he didn't soon.

He stretched his body in every possible direction after standing up before eventually hiding away in the bathroom to wet his hair in an attempt to slick back his curls to achieve the 'coiffed' look. Though of course, Koda's curls never wanted to listen to him and went wherever they pleased making his efforts pointless just like every other morning before.

Koda eventually was able to throw on his carefully selected school uniform. He took his time making sure everything was perfectly in place. Appearances didn't matter much with Koda's status though that still didn't stop him from making sure he looked his best every day but also made sure to incorporate the 'bad boy' flare some of the rumors about him had by finishing his polished look off with a leather jacket.

Koda was at the door when he whistled for Micco who came sprinting off his bed and leapt into Koda's bag before he walked to Divination class. Koda had chosen a seat hidden in the back as soon as he arrived and ignored most of the people in the room. He came quietly to his selected seat and said nothing as always while he watched the class begin.

Having grown up in something of a dungeon, it was perhaps no surprise that Torrence Hollingsworth felt so at home nestled deeply within stone walls. Lyonhearth Manor was an estate teeming with history, quite a bit of it hidden under the surface. Secret passages and corridors were everywhere if you knew where to look, and over the years, thanks to one McKenna James, Torrence had come to know the network very well. His favorite spot however, remained the large stone antechamber Mac had affectionately named the “Hub”, as it had numerous splintering hallways that led to dozens of places throughout the campus. It’s large, open, circular interior also provided a convenient space for his private projects, effectively functioning as a workshop of sorts. His corner to the left was littered with wires, hunks of jittering metal, and various contraptions with blinking lights and unperceivable purposes. Posters of muggle bands littered the walls, working effectively as both decor, and elaborate system of tunnel markers.

“Still no luck trying to convert spells into coding? What are you even trying to get it to do anyway?” A familiar set of blonde curls came bouncing into view out of the north tunnel. It wasn’t uncommon for Mac to take morning excursions through the tunnels, but that passage only let out onto the grounds and forest.

“It’s seven in the morning, and you’ve already been out hiking. Do you not sleep or something?” Toric’s voice held an edge, aggravated that she would go off on her own like that. Some of the tunnels and chambers they explored looked more like decrepit ruins, and the thought of Mac getting caught up in something out there alone made Toric uneasy.

“Ha! That’s rich coming from you! Did you even go to bed last night?” Toric’s silence was the only confirmation Mac needed to smugly continue on. “You’re gonna be in for a rough ride if you get caught snoozing in divination again. A real shame that’d be.”

“Since when did you start caring about divination? You’re usually the one cheering to skip it.” Toric snorted in reply, never losing a beat with his coding. He fell into the banter easily, unwilling to start a fight this early in the morning.

“Are you kidding, a week before the dance?! I’m taking bets on how many desperate dopes start reading pick up lines in their tea leaves!” Mac cackled. “Speaking of...have you got a date yet or what? You can’t sit out every social event on campus. The loner genius bit gets tacky after a while.”

Toric’s ears turned an embarrassing shade of red, but if his mind flashed briefly to a certain Orenda girl with hair as unpredictable as her whims, he didn’t give Mac the satisfaction of letting on. “Yeah well, who exactly are you going with hmm? I heard Lukas Krauter was planning to ask you, but he’s a pig working down the list, so I wouldn’t take it personally.”

“Ew, not even as a joke dude.” Mac made a face. Lukas was a decent enough sort, well groomed, athletic, proportional and all that. He just suffered under the unfortunate delusion that he was god’s gift to women, giving him all the confidence of Casanova without any of the charm.

“I’ve got a few prospects in mind.” Mac recovered quickly with a grin, a glint in her eyes that Toric knew all too well.

“Oh just leave the poor guy alone!” Toric groused, finally shoving away from the makeshift contraption he called a computer to stretch his limbs. “Next to Frenching the guy in potions, I’m not sure how much more forward you could be. If he liked you, don’t you think he’d have said something by now?” Koda Cheveyo got enough harassment on a daily basis without Mac hanging off his arm every chance she got. Sometimes when a guy was brooding and unresponsive, it just meant they wanted to be left alone, a fact Toric could attest to.

“It’s a work in progress.” Mac admitted grudgingly. “Besides, with what I’ve got planned for today, even he’s gonna crack a smile!” She declared, quickly regaining her optimism. Toric just shook his head, recognizing a losing battle when he saw one. Toric had a bad feeling Mac was just going to have to learn the hard way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Mac spent the better part of an hour after her shower taming her her curls into a coiffe and making sure her makeup was just right, the young witch was willing to forgive herself for the exercise in vanity. Mac never looked like a slouch, but a monday morning session of divination rarely warranted such effort. Today however, had to be perfect, right down to the matching gold buttons. Koda’s brooding nature had proved a formidable adversary, but today she was going to get those perfect cupid bow lips of his to curve into a smile...and maybe a few less innocent things, but for now, Mac would settle for a smile!

Mac had spent the morning scouting out the perfect spot for their next excursion, a place with plenty of mystery and romantic appeal to suit her purposes, but also enough natural wonder to it, that no one could help but look around in awe. Mac couldn’t wait to get him there, and reminded herself to find a nice treat for Auto, since he helped her to find the treasure in the first place.

Once Mac deemed her appearance acceptable, she bound out of the Chandra common room, for once caring about being late to divination. Predictably, Torrence beat her to class, and had taken a seat by himself in the middle row, thumbing through a text about something called Java Script. Surveying the classroom, Mac noticed the usual groups had come together.. Ramsey Blackwood and his gag-worthy posse had begun to form, and while Mac might have been inclined to share a few good morning insults with Drachen to get the day started off just right, today she had other priorities. Sweeping past for once without a word, she hoped the inbred club would catch the hint.

On the other side of the room, was the group she normally would gravitate to, which included a sizable portion of the Fawkes quodpot team. The fact they also happened to be some of her closest friends (rather than her teammates on team Chandra) was a testament to how often people thought she’d been sorted into the wrong house. On a typical day, Mac would join the them, saddling up to Dom, flirting with Tim, or boasting light heartedly about quodpot with Chase. That section had already become a bit crowded however, and as her eyes lingered on the back of the room, she knew exactly where she’d be sitting.

Enchanting a piece of parchment into the shape of a bird, Mac sent a quick note flying gracefully toward Dom, which landed neatly by his hand. I’m on the hunt. Meet up for lunch? Dom would understand, and Mac always filled him in later. With that taken care of, Mac sauntered toward the back of the classroom, taking up the empty seat to Koda’s right.

“Clear your schedule for the evening, we’re going out tonight!” Mac let out in a hushed conspiratorial whisper, her lips brushing closer to Koda’s ear than was strictly necessary.

Moira's gaze drifted from her brother who promptly left her in the common room with Jinx in her arms. She let out a soft sigh but only to tense up slightly when Drachen spoke towards her. "I wonder who you were hoping to bump into over your darling brother." Then gave her a subtle wink.

As he walked out to meet her brother she muttered under her breath under after him. "...Not you."

She kept checking her watch while holding her little black fur ball. Moira had more than plenty time to get to class. She had no desire to be stuck in a seat between her brother and Drachen. So that was one of her many reasons for staying behind and waiting. The nice thing about her spending time with Vladik was that spending time with him usually kept the other two at bay. Vladik, Ramsey and Drachen were no doubt labeled the big bad assholes in the school, and Moira was one of the few who got the luxury of being around them more than others. Although her brother and Drachen were inseparable, Ramsey and Vladik hated each other, so that gave Moira a more than welcome reprieve when she was around one of her closest friends.

Moira's mind kept wondering down a certain path, the path of a red headed Russian. If her brother knew even a fraction of those thoughts it would end in a bruised rib or black eye. But thankfully in her mind she was safe, at least for now. She was quickly brought back to reality when the other students in the common room started to rush out into the hall causing Jinx to jump out of her arms and rush off too. "Stupid cat."

She has about to try to chase after the feline until she heard a voice come from behind her. "I still can't believe we have to start our day with that shitty class." Moira smiled and chuckled under her breath as she slowly pivoted on her heels to face him. She knew it was him just by his voice before her gaze even locked onto him. He cleaned up well, he always had. There was something about him in his uniform that was always pleasing to gaze upon for her. But the best part was his grin that she was one of the lucky few to witness. "I swear, one of these days they'll realize what a waste of time divination is."

Vladik's demeanor seemed to change ever so slightly while he was around her. Moira's hand lightly rested on the table top at her side as his arms uncrossed and he took a step towards her. His gaze was intense and direct which made her heart quicken beneath her ribcage and a warming sensation rise in her cheeks. She cleared her throat slightly as she broke his gaze, her sweet smile returning to her lips. "Noch, you just don't like the class because you're bad at it." She playfully poked his chest with her right index finger.

Moira moved to stand beside him, slipping her right arm under the crook of his left, letting her hand gently rest in the bed of his arm. She then started out towards the hall alongside him. "You know if you asked me nicely, I know it's difficult for you to be nice." She lightly bumped him in a teasing manner, "But... I could help tutor you in Divination."

Ramsey remained still and silent as he watched others begin to file into the classroom. The lower the blood status of the student the greater the sneer across his lips. Although his gaze was fixated forward, he still noticed the arrival of Helena. "Good morning, Ramsey," She purred in his ear. Her hands ran from his shoulders down to rest upon his chest. "I just love you in a suit."

He held out his palm allowing his furry Tarantula friend to climb into it not sparing Helena a glance, chuckle or even a smirk. "Leaves me to wonder how I fail in comparison in other clothing... Or none."

When Moira and Vladik arrived in the classroom, Ramsey sat up in his seat. If looks could kill, Vladik would have dropped dead in an instant. With a swift movement of his foot he pulled back the adjacent chair and motioned towards it for his sister. But the moment Moira saw that her gaze drifted away and she moved towards an empty table at the front of the room. She had to deal with him everyday, sitting next to him in class as well would drive her crazy.

It wasn't long after Chase arrived to class that more came entering. In no time Tim made his way over to his table giving him a nod, "Blue." Chase smiled giving him a slight wave of the hand while he took a seat beside him.

He chuckled when his friend reached over to pet the little sleeping Fritz whom laid in his lap. When Tim withdrew his hand, the little black fur ball yawned and stretched before looking between the two with big eyes. "Now you've got him started." He smiled, moving a free hand to rub the animal's stomach.

Blue's attention was quickly drawn to the voice of another on comer. "Hey there, guys."

"Man why do you have to get up and do school stuff before school?" He raised his brows suggestively. "Maybe I need an alarm clock more than you need to study." Chase chuckled before yawning and scratching his head under his beanie.

His gaze drifted towards another who entered the classroom which quickly caused Blue's entire demeanor to change to a more slick and flirtatious Chase. He waited for Dom to take a seat at the table behind them before he completely turned around in his chair so that his arms were crossed over the back. "Looking good as always Dom." He gave a seductive smirk. "I do enjoy seeing you in a tie... The things I could do with that tie." Blue gave him a less than subtle wink.

As Vincent sat down in the same table with Timothy, Evelyn also sat down with them, across the table with a visible unpleasant expression. It was only then did he remember that she doesn't really get along with the guy. Facepalming himself, he exhaled a sigh. He should have known by now that even though he got along well with many people, it doesn't mean that they particularly got along with each other either. Hoping that they wouldn't feel too uncomfortable... He sheepishly thought as he cast his gaze around the classroom to see if there's anything interesting.

His stream of thought was cut off when Timothy greeted him and reached out his hand to play with his hat, making it a little bit crooked, stating that he now looked ready to grill some Laveau jerks. Giggling and fixed his hat back to its' original position, Vincent replied, "You might be right, but I'd prefer if I burn them down without even moving an inch of my hat. And you're wearing Men's Hugo, right? Fabulous choice, let me tell ya ~" Timothy is also another precious friend of his and despite being a little eccentric, the guy is reliable. It really is a pain at first to get him to talk, since he was so hard to get, but all efforts paid off, after all.

When Chase spoke up and remarked as of how much he needed an alarm clock more than Vincent needed to study, he chuckled, "Well, I need to do it anyway, whether I like it or not. Prof. Erin will turn me into some sort of public art or something if I didn't hand my report in tonight." Vincent shrugged and laughed, "I just didn't want to kick you out of your beauty sleep so early. Be grateful." He mischievously winked to his roomy. It's always fun having some chit-chat with Chase like this and never would he missed a chance to do so.

Moments later, Dominic entered the scene and Vincent almost felt like his heart was popping the moment he saw the elder Hahn sibling entered the scene. Unlike Chase who outwardly flirted with the guy, he just turned his face away to hide his blushing face. He knows that he's pretty much looking like a teenage girl being lovesick or something, but taking into account of how they are now, he could never mustered up the courage to speak up what he thinks when it comes to Dominic, instead just watching him from afar. But he shouldn't lose his cool, so he tried to smile brightly, "Annyeong, Dom. Have a nice sleep yesterday?" He totally didn't expect that he would spurt that out in Korean, but ol' habits don't die easily.

Luckily, Ophelia also stepped into the classroom almost right away. Turning his attention to her, Vincent tried to distract himself from the fantasies that are whirling around in his mind. Waving to her with yet another bright smile, he greeted, "Mornin' Fee. Sleep well yesterday, sweetheart?" He chuckled as he saw Timothy put his face away, almost as if he's trying to hide from her. It was quite adorable, if he had to say. Ophelia is an endearing girl, and it's not a surprise to see she being loved by many, even Vincent himself, in a brotherly way. She had always looked out for him since they were just kids, so it's natural that he did the same for her as well. If only she didn't have to live in such a dreadful family, but that's not too much of a problem now since he knows Dominic is by her side.

Taking a moment to take a look around, Vincent couldn't help acknowledging how lively the classroom is now since most of the students have arrived. Most of his acquaintances are sitting in the same corner with him. Leiyona is lying faced down on the table, as usual, since Divination and her apparently don't get along with each other, but that's understandable for someone as fierce as her. The geeky boy Collin was smiling to her and Timothy, which Vincent raised his eyebrow at, since it wasn't something you would see everyday. And then it comes to McKenna, who is conversing with her friends. He chuckled slightly as he remembered the last Thursday when they leave a goo bomb disguised in the shape of a love letter in the closet of a Laveau blood supremacist. The look on the jerk's face afterward is totally golden and before the professors could catch their tails, they were long gone. It's never seized to be fun whenever he could sit down and got something cooking with her.

"Have any plan after classes today, Eve?" He smiled and asked Evelyn. He doesn't have a particular plan of what he's going to do afterschool either. Perhaps he should be starting to find some attires for the upcoming ball now. Speaking of the ball, he secretly wondered if anyone would ask him out, or if he had to ask someone out by himself. It's also been a while since the last time he actually do some dancing around, so he got to brush up some practice, too.

When Prof. Kang asked the whole class whether they have had a good weekends, Vincent smiled and nodded to her. Divination definitely wasn't his favorite class, but as with most of the professors in Remington, he holds a huge respect for her. Then, he turned his attention back to the crystal ball sitting in the center of the round table. He knows for sure that he shouldn't trust most of the thing it tells him. Vincent once foresaw that he would be making out with one of the boys he knows, but none of them made him to do that so far. Taking the books and his quill out from his bag, he sat impatiently, waiting for the class to begin.

I’m on the hunt. Meet up for lunch? Dom read the note with an amused scoff, glancing to his friend as his lips curved into a smirk.

"Looking good as always Dom. I do enjoy seeing you in a tie... The things I could do with that tie." Dominic's expression of response was a cold deadpan. Honestly, Dom was used to Chase's flirtations by now. It was a part of Chase's personality, and the game of smirks was something he seemed to constantly be playing. There were occasions when he had to remind himself that it was just that, a little fun, as Blue had a knack for faux sincerity. It was charming, really. And frustrating.

"Annyeong, Dom. Have a nice sleep yesterday?" Dom smiled at Vincent, offering a firm nod of affirmation, and a warm mhm. Actually, no. He'd had a rather nasty nightmare last night. His boggart had seemingly escaped into his dreams. But he wasn't about to mention it.

Fee's arrival quickly took Vincent's attention, and he offered her a casual wave as he leaned back in his chair.

"Mornin' Fee. Sleep well yesterday, sweetheart?" Fee glanced to the other members of the group, noticing Timothy avoiding meeting her eyes. For but a millisecond, her smile faltered, but then she was back to brightness, and she replied cheerily to Vincent's query. "Yes, thanks. You?"

She didn't get to hear his reply though, because Vedika clapped her hands firmly together, notifying them all that class was officially in session. Having overheard Vladik's angry comment, her lips had only curved into a smirk, not surprised by the boy's distaste. Divination was different from most classes. Most classes, even someone with no skill could study, could practice, and, usually, could get better. But divination? Divination required a natural talent, it required sight. It was a pretentious-sounding thing to say aloud, but it was true enough. If one couldn't see, one seldom ever would.

"Alright. I marked your cartomancy externals over the weekend and the results were... varied." As she spoke, a stack of papers rose into the air, and began floating down the row between the desks, each graded test landing gracefully in front of its respective owner. She smiled, "f you remember, I also promised that I would reward the five five students with the highest scores. Helena Eld. Nikolai Romain. Ophelia Hahn. Orchid Grimsbane. Moira Blackwood. Ten house points each."

She sighed, and the curtains flicked open, letting in the sunlight and brightening up the room. On each desk, a steaming teapot and three tea cups appeared. "Now, with that out the way, get into groups of three." As the class began to move into groups, she spoke over the chatter. "Before we move onto the next topic of oneiromancy, I figured we'd have a bit of a break, and go back to old school tasseography."

"You're acting ridiculous." Helena rolled her eyes as Drachen was noticeably fuming. "She did that on purpose. She's acting like-" Helena was quick to cut him off. "And you're acting like spoiled little brat who didn't get their happy meal toy." She looked back behind them to where Kieran was sitting then back at Drachen. His entire mannerism over the ordeal was fairly amusing and she made a mental note to reward Kieran for it later. Of course, Helena needed to add another smart ass comment towards her brother since she was the only one who could get away with knocking him down a few pegs.

Helena pursed her lips for a moment noticing Drachen squirm out of the corner of her eye. She hadn't said anything to him but all it took was change of expression for him to shiver in his suit. If their was anyone who terrified Drachen, it would most definitely be his sister Helena. He never wanted to be on the receiving end of her wrath or cause her any means of wrong doing. He could never bring himself to do anything of the sort. Drachen instead did what he knew she wanted and silenced himself by staring forward despite being so bothered by Kieran's obvious attempt of defiance. He'd deal with her later when Helena wasn't around.

Something in Drachen shifted as he sat up straighter than before with devious little smirk him and his other half, Ramsey, seemed to be known for. That look never meant anything good from him. "What are you planning?" Helena inquired him. Drachen responded at first with a shrug but not before leaning over and whispering into her ear. "You'll have to look into one of your crystal balls to find out." Helena rolled her eyes again as Drachen sat up straight once more still smirking.

Helena had shrugged it off and was going to continue bombarding Ramsey with flirtations for the sake of annoying her brother just as the professor clapped her hands to gain the class's full attention. "Alright. I marked your cartomancy externals over the weekend and the results were... varied." Helena also followed her brother in sitting straighter than before though she straighten her back for very different reasons as she crossed her legs. The test grades flew through the air to their respective desks as Professor Kang continued. "If you remember, I also promised that I would reward the five five students with the highest scores. Helena Eld. Nikolai Roman. Ophelia Hahn. Orchid Grimsbane. Moira Blackwood. Ten house points each."

Drachen was definitely not pleased over how poor his grade looked compared to Helena though something else seemed to bother him as he glared at the door and muttered a comment. "Oh look, the Gypsy Trash is here." Helena followed his eyes to the doorway where Nikolai Roman was standing with a bright red apple in hand and very obviously not following the dress code policy very well. He had on a casual buttoned t shirt with every button possible undone underneath his white vest paired off with a wooden cross that seemed a bit ironic on him. His pants were as white as snow and seemed oddly placed with his black dress shoes. Of course, that was never enough for Nikolai's 'look'. He had his eyes painted in eyeliner and his nails matching the black of his shoes. It was toned down compared to his usual attire but it still wasn't a surprise on him.

Nikolai's paper came floating through the air and into his hand since he hadn't chosen a desk yet. He'd heard the end of Kang's announcement and gave a mischievous little grin as he walked late into the room. "Oh, Kang... This is one of the reasons why you're my favorite." He put the apple on her desk and gave her a wink that wasn't subtle in any sort of way before taking his time in choosing a seat. He favored sitting in the front but the thought of leaving his favorite victim all alone in the back caused Nikolai to make his way back towards her and take a seat right next to her. Though he did move his chair a little closer than was necessary.

Kang had announced for them to get into groups of three and Nikolai grinned down at Leiyona even though she wasn't much shorter than him. "Looks like you're stuck with me if you want to pass, sweetheart." He winked at her and put his arm around her chair not caring that they needed a third. This assignment was going to be easy for him and probably the only time people wanted to be paired up with the Muggle Born Gypsy.

Drachen had turned to Ramsey right away after the announcement. "You, me, and Helena." Helena snorted a laugh. "As if... Find your own victim." She quickly left the two and snuck up behind Kieran to wrap her arms around her. She knew it'd make her uncomfortable which was the whole reason she did it. "So how badly do you want a high mark, love?" She giggled into the girls ear. "One of your cute little friends could join our little three way group too." Her words were placed purposely for the sake of getting a reaction from the others seated at the table. This was going to be a fun lesson depending on who joined them.

_____Orchid bolted up out of bed at the crack of dawn as Orchid always does; with a hail of blankets and curses. Once you've lived your whole life with it you start not to mind it so much, but the headaches never get any better. She only assumes it's normal, after all extensive use of magic can drain even the most astute wizards and witches, Orchid is no different. Every day as far back as she can remember she wakes with a pain in her frontal lobe. No doubt because of how many metamorphases she'll go through in one day, even the involuntary ones. Then there's class and practicing and all manner of shenanigans that certainly add to the riff raff going on in her little skull. It would be maddening if she wasn't already a bit mad herself.
She sit in bed for a while and rubbed her temples, the sharp pain slowly dulling into a livable ache. After breakfast and a nice hot bath it usually went away until the next morning. With this thought in mind she removed her fluffy blankets with a sigh and moved to the communal bathroom to do normal everyday bathroom things like washing hair, applying makeup, etc. etc. Most would assume Orchid would simply change her face to look as if she had already applied her makeup instead of preforming the teadious action herself. Orchid would be the first to say absolutely not. The mere idea of holding a face all day long is not only tiresome to even fathom but nearly a larger waste of time than doing it herself. Besides, painting the face was fun and Orchid was good at it. She did always take extra time to make sure her hair dark purple locks were curled just right and her clothes were ironed. She even made sure to spritz her favorite perfume, a warm sandalwood scent. She giggled as she drew up her gray stocking over her knee and up her leg. Oh yes, the picture of perfection indeed. The irony was never lost on her and never ceased to amuse her.
Headache, and now toiletries, out of the way, Orchid sat for a moment on her bed and at 2 or 3 granola bars, not feeling especially up to walking clear across campus for normal breakfast when her first class was half the distance. She was anything if not resourceful. They were bland as can be but she wolfed them down quickly and moved to grab her backpack and sweetie bag. As much as she would like to completely replace every facet of her diet with an absolutely comical amount of sugar, a witch needs her nutrients. Not to mention the all manner of ghosts and ghastlies her mother would send to torment her had she gotten wind Orchid wasn't eating her apple a day.
Headache, then toiletries, and not food over and done with, she walked over to Fernando's cage and smiled sweetly at the sleepy little carnivore before softly rasping on it.
"Bon dia Fernando. És el moment de començar el dia , una preciosa."Good morning Fernando. It is time to start the day, Precious One.
He gave the sleepiest little yawn and stretched out his crystal-white wings before blinking tiny, bleary red orbs at her and squeaking softly. She cooed happily and opened his cage slowly and carefully used her finger to wedge under his little toes so he latched onto her rather than his perch. She finally drew him out and held him up so that his upside down face was level with hers. After the gentlest of Eskimo kisses she moved him toward her shoulder. He got the hint after some nudging and, with obvious batty grumpiness, fluttered about for a bit before perching on her shoulder and hiding his face in his wings.
"Res d'això es bat travessa . Vam dir anem a comportar-se més o menys m'ajudi T'estic canviar de nou al carrer rates."None of that you naughty bat. Today we're going to behave or so help me I'm switching you back to street rats.
He gave a small squeak in submission before softly burrowing in her hair and nuzzling her head. She made a kiss noise and placed her backpack on her shoulders before finally setting off to class. It would have probably gotten underway right now, but if she knew Kang, she wouldn't be any good until her second to third cup of tea. She, of course, listened to music on the way and decided to forego mentos for a sucker today since it was morning and she'd already brushed her teeth. This one was strawberry of course since it was her favorite flavor, and she had a good bounce to her step as she made it to class just in time to see Kang handing out papers. At least she didn't miss anything important. Though, when she heard her name in group with the best grades she couldn't resist a small jig before fully entering the class. She knew she was good at Divination and didn't need the validation, but that doesn't mean she's not one to like her ego being stroked every once in a blood moon. She couldn't stay receded in the darkness for much longer though as the blinds were pulled apart with a strong amount of light filling the room. Naturally, Fernando, hissed and screeched before spearing up into the rafters to brood.
"I hope it's nice and dark up there, Nosferatu,"she said under her breath as she rolled her eyes. Cat was out of the bag any way, so she sauntered down the aisle waving at the other students in the class. "Hello everyone!"
Normally this would seem odd, but for almost everyone in the school Orchid could boast, if not neutral, a friendly relationship with and this was the quickest way to make everyone feel included. She was a politician, she was a friend, a judge, or even a confidante. She was what she wanted to be, and she didn't see a point in being nasty to anyone...yet.
She saddled up behind Helena and looked into the air at nothing in particular. The sugary treat made a pop as she pulled it from her now red-stained lips. While she was closest to Helena, she spoke at a volume that at least those surrounding could here. She did give Helena a look before exclaiming dramatically with her hand gracefully befallen her forehead,
"Oh my! Little Lonely me with no partnership to be found! What is a witch to do?"

Koda had been watching silently as the room filled with various students clustering into their respective rooms ignoring him as he so preferred. Koda had taken the time to take out a notebook and pen waiting for the class to begin hoping not to be disturbed in his cherished silence in the back of the room. Of course he rarely got what he wished for when McKenna had entered the room. He had hoped she'd go off and mingle with her equally social friends though that never seemed to be the case any time she spotted Koda.

She had sauntered on over to the seat beside him causing Koda to shift uncomfortably in his seat to keep from being to close though that didn't stop her. Her voice had fallen into a whisper just as her lips managed to graze his ear. It took all of Koda's strength not to flush a bright hue of red when it happened. “Clear your schedule for the evening, we’re going out tonight!” Koda already knew she would plan yet another adventure of hers to drag him along to but that didn't stop him from letting out a deep sigh. It wasn't like he had much of a choice with her. Koda had a hard time saying no to McKenna.

The class was drawn to attention by Professor Kang by clapping her hands together giving Koda a breathe of fresh air as he did his best to focus on what was being said about their test scores. Koda was a bit displeased that he hadn't scored the top 5 but he still did well as usual in the class anyways.

Kieran, on the other hand, did not fair so well as Divination was one of the few classes she managed to struggle in and her exam score certainly proved it unfortunately. She'd been quiet so far since taking her seat away from the gang of future Death Eaters though she really didn't interact with anyone. She simply observed the others as they spoke amongst each other since she had nothing to input at the moment. She wasn't feeling as snarky today with her comments just yet.

"Now, with that out the way, get into groups of three." Kieran finally opened her mouth to see who was willing to group up with her hoping it'd at least be Chase or Dominic since they were really her only friends at this school. That was until the sudden feeling of arms draping over her ruined such plans. "So how badly do you want a high mark, love?" Kieran practically squirmed in her seat at the sound of Helena's voice. The giggle next to her ear didn't help Kieran's annoyed expression and readiness to bolt at any moment from the Half Veela. "One of your cute little friends could join our little three way group too."

"How generous of you." Kieran rolled her eyes just as Boomer managed to wiggle his way out and hide under a seat. Kieran envied him right now. She looked out at her table hoping one of them was willing to save her by playing the role of cock block. "So which of you wants to join us?" Kieran spoke without much of an expression on her face as she forced Helena's hands off of her.

Koda didn't squirm in his seat at the announcement of groups though he wasn't entirely a fan of not getting to work alone. He looked over at McKenna when the tea pot and cups came to the table. He handed her a cup and poured the tea before doing his own and looking out to see who would join them. He figured they'd easily get a third considering how social McKenna was compared to him.

Koda looked sullenly resigned, and while it was far from the enthusiastic response she might have liked, Mac had learned to accept that was the best she was likely to receive. At least for now, she assured herself quickly, relentlessly cheerful. Tonight would be a turning point Mac was sure, and she was determined to make certain he enjoyed himself. Then, the next time she dragged him along to explore some new cavern or crevice, maybe he’d even look forward to it. That was a pleasant thought.

Mac noticed the mouse before she saw Collin, who’d been pretty quiet in the corner so far. Koda didn’t seem to react to the small visitor, which was comforting in a way, as Mac might have been more than a little upset if an, albeit cute, rodent could get more of a response from him than she could. Crawling around in tunnels and other abandoned structures had mostly desensitized her to such creatures, so Mac’s indulgent glance at Collin’s familiar was pleasant, if a bit disinterested.

When their paper’s came floating back, Mac wasn’t the least bit surprised she hadn’t made it into the top five, though the fact she’d eked out a passing mark was a pleasant turn. Pity, or a great deal of amusement on Kang’s part, Mac suspected had to the most to do with it, as the young witch hadn’t taken the assignment the least bit seriously. While her reading of the cards were technically in line with the book, Mac had used them to make ridiculously absurd predictions that read more like jokes than actual glimpse into the future. The sight, as far a Mac was concerned, was something you had or you didn’t, and even then she was deeply skeptical. Prophecies had a tendency to be conveniently vague, and with parameters like that, you could twist anything to fit if you wanted it to badly enough.

Turning to Koda, Mac shrugged apologetically as she glimpsed his far superior mark, resolving to at least attempt to take today’s assignment a bit more seriously for his sake. Watching the tea set float to their table, Mac couldn’t help the bemused smile that twisted her lips as she realized she’d ironically predicted their lesson earlier in the morning. ‘Apparently I’ve got more of the gift than I thought!’

Mac accepted the poured cup with good cheer, her eyes glancing sideways at Collin, still without a group, nearby. “We’ve got an open spot.” She called over in clear invitation that was neither pushy, nor grudging. Collin was welcome to join if he needed a group, and if he had better prospects in mind, there would be no hard feelings. Mac suspected he’d accept though, as it was both convenient, and Collin seemed comfortable around Koda, which was nice to see. While Mac enjoyed the times she had the dark brooding boy all to herself, she liked the thought of expanding Koda’s social circle with friendly presences; she’d seen too many people act toward him in pointless cruelty over the years.

Toric barely glanced at his returned assignment, noting the passing mark, and using the parchment as a bookmark with an air of disgruntlement as he was forced to abandon his preferred text. He looked up as Max made his late entry and took a seat in the open space to his right, returning a quick nod in acknowledgment. Max was an alright sort, though they weren’t particularly close. Toric didn’t complain though, there were far worse options in this room he could be stuck with, and as it became apparent they were supposed to pair up into group of three, Toric scanned the room for an additional prospect with a grim stare.

Mac had already situated herself with Koda (of course), and it looked like she was ushering Collin over to be their third. Ramsey’s corner was out of the question, not that Toric thought they’d demean themselves to join his group anyway. Glancing at the Fawkes group just made him feel tired. Toric didn’t really have the energy or extroverted social skills to fit in there, but considering the size of the group, run off from there was probably their best bet.

Toric was contemplating calling out to one, Dom maybe, when he caught sight or Orchid. Always one to make an entrance, Toric proved a dutiful audience to her theatrics. His eyes were transfixed by the candy he knew without being told was strawberry as it passed between her lips, plumping them and leaving a glossy red stain. Toric had the sudden uncharacteristic urge to be bold, call out to Orchid and offer her a seat. Then she saddled up next to Helena, whose arms were already around Kieran, intent clear, and the moment passed. Toric might not have any gift of foresight, but he could see that group all but formed clear as day. Slumping back into his seat, mood soured considerably as he began denying to himself he’d had the urge to begin with as he pulled out his divination book. Max could worry about getting them a third, he’d likely have more luck regardless.

Moira sat back in her chair, crossing one leg over the other as she pulled her backpack from her shoulders. She sifted through its contents, pulling out a quill and some parchment. She smiled down as Jinx subbed against her shin a couple times for curling up at her feet.

"Alright. I marked your cartomancy externals over the weekend and the results were... varied." Moira leans back in her chair to lean around Vladik so see Professor Kang. "f you remember, I also promised that I would reward the five five students with the highest scores. Helena Eld. Nikolai Romain. Ophelia Hahn. Orchid Grimsbane. Moira Blackwood. Ten house points each."

Moira smiled happily although not totally surprising that she got one of the highest scores. She raised her quill, poking the feather against Vladik's cheek, "Well look at that."

Her gaze went towards the windows when the blinds opened and then back to the table when the tea and cups appeared. Now, with that out the way, get into groups of three. Before we move onto the next topic of oneiromancy, I figured we'd have a bit of a break, and go back to old school tasseography."

It wasn't a second before they were told to get into groups that Vladik moved to his feet. Her brows furrowed as she watched him curiously. Before she knew what to do, his hands were on her chair. A quiet squeal escaped when he shifted her seat, her hands moving to grasp at the chair to keep herself seated.

She parted her lips, about to speak up before he leaned down towards her. She felt his breath on her neck as he spoke, "Three is a crowd, no?" Goose bumps raise on the back of her neck as he spoke. Moira waited a moment as her cheeks slightly flushed before glancing over at him as he sat back down beside her. She didn't say it out loud but if someone else tried to join them she wouldn't tell them no. But Moira knew better, no one was going to sit beside two Laveau students, especially when one was Vladik. "If you wanted to be my tutor to spend more time with me," Her gaze drifts to lock with his, "all you had to do was ask."

Moira chuckled, twirling her quill in her right hand. "Noch, if I'm going to tutor you..." She leaned in slightly towards him. A devious grin crossing her lips as she whispered teasingly, "You're going to ask me... Nicely."

She shifted back into her seat normally as she wrote tasseography on the parchment before her. Moira then pulled a cup towards her and scooted one towards the reluctant Vladik. "I already know what my bloody cup will say." She rolled her eyes at his tone, more than used to the disdain in his tone. "Although you do make tasseography look kind of hot."

Moira's brows shot up as her head quickly turned towards him. Her cheeks quickly flushing at the comment causing her to glance away yet again. "Aren't you the charmer. Do lines like those work on all the girls?" She pursed her lips as she trailed the tip of her finger along the brim of the tea cup before her. "So... What is it that you think your cup will say?" She needed a change of topic so she could focus back on the school work at hand even if he wasn't going to be taking it seriously.

Ramsey paid little to no mind to the conversation between Drachen and Helena. His digits tapped upon the table as his gaze drilled holes into the back of Vladik's head. True, Ramsey hated just about every living soul in this god forsaken place, but something about that Russian rustled his feathers something crazy. One major reason was because the guy was serious bad news and you'd have to be blind not to see that he had eyes for Moira. But he also just saw the guy as competition in just about everything. Maybe in a different life they could have been friends but such isn't the case.

A growl rumbled in the depths of his throat when he saw the redhead physically move Moira's chair so that she sat closer to him. The two were practically on top of each other. Ramsey had half a mind to get up and make a very uncomfortable third in their group but as he went to stand, Drachen's voice stopped him. "You, me, and Helena."

"As if... Find your own victim."

Ramsey snorted as he flopped back down in his chair, crossing his arms over his chest before kicking his feet up on the empty chair. He looked over at Drachen, "You didn't really think either one of our sisters would pair up with us by choice did you?" He looked down as Lenox slowly climbed down his arm, sitting upon the top of his left hand. He had half a mind to let him roam throughout the classroom to scare some of the pansies in class but he didn't want to risk his pet getting killed either.

His gaze drifted towards the entrance when Orchid Grimsbane entered the class made sure to let everyone know of her entrance. He wasn't one to exclaim anything... ever so instead he just sat there and watched as she walked over towards Helena. "Oh my! Little Lonely me with no partnership to be found! What is a witch to do?" Ramsey snorted slightly at the over dramatic antics. But she was smart... And wasn't terrified of him like just about everyone else in the room. So he sat there waiting for her gaze to meet his, and when it did he very slightly nodded his head towards the empty chair at the table with him and Drachen. A silent invitation for her to join their group, that was more than friendly in terms of Ramsey.

Chase's smirk only seemed to grow at Dom's less than impressed expression. But none the less, he sat there with a smile as he held Dom's gaze. He parted his lips to speak but was stopped when he heard another voice.

"Annyeong, Dom. Have a nice sleep yesterday?" Of course that got a smile out of Dom, figured. This caused Blue to tense slightly, his jaw clenching. He gave a sigh, spinning around in his chair, sliding down in it and crossing his arms. Sure he was a flirt and just about everyone knew that too. But nothing is more upsetting to when someone's non flirting can get a better reaction than your flirting.

When they got their grades, Blue glanced at his grade which was a sad attempt at passing. He blew air out of his lips before shoving the paper into his backpack. For having so many friends he found himself sitting there watching everyone else quickly disperse into their groups. His gaze caught onto a quiet Toric and Max.

"Fuck it." He huffed under his breath, standing up and kicking his chair backwards slightly. "Come on Fritz." He scooped up the ferret whom quickly balled up in his arm. Chase crossed the room until he came to a stop at the empty chair at Max's and Toric's table. "Mind if I join you all?" He nodded his head slightly towards the open spot. He may have been an extroverted and outgoing person, but he never imposed. If they didn't want him there... He'd figure out somewhere else to go, maybe bug Mister and Mister Laveau in the corner.

Dominic sighed as the teacups materialized on the tables, already prepared to look a complete moron. Such a thing was inevitable for him in a number of subjects, and deciphering tea leaves in divination was no exception. As Chase rose in his seat, Dom looked up, expecting the boy to swerve around to take a seat beside him. Instead, Dom watched as the boy slipped between the tables, and took a seat beside Torrence and Max. He felt his jaw tighten slightly, and found himself examining Torrence and Max's faces.

Neither of them are bad-looking... in fact, they're both quite handsome... For some reason, that bothered him, and he frowned slightly before turning back to his friends. He opened his mouth to suggest them simply making a group of five, only to catch a certain frenemy's gaze.

"So which of you wants to join us?" Dom caught Keiran's look of near-desperation, and once he noted her partner, he understood perfectly. He raised an eyebrow at Keiran in an expression that clearly said, You want me to play cockblocker? Really? Third-wheeling didn't sound like much fun to Dom, and he hesitated a couple of beats before sighing and getting up to join

their group, shooting his own friends an apologetic shrug before he left. He slipped into free seat just in time for Kang to call out over the class.

"You know the drill. Once you've drank your tea, swap cups with the person to your left, and translate the tea leaves. You're welcome to use your tasseography textbook, if you wish to."

Ophelia, meanwhile, chuckled at Dom's misfortune before turning to the leftover members of their little group, "I guess that leaves us." Reaching out behind her, she took a teacup from another, unoccupied table and brought it to theirs. "We can just be a four, right?"

She reached to take the teapot, moving to fill each person's cup as she mumbled quietly under her breath with a slight wince. "Ooh, hot. Hothothothothot..."

As per usual, Koda had been dead silent as he sat next to McKenna. She called Collin over to join their group and Koda was friendly enough to give the boy a nod. The two weren't exactly chums or anything but Koda didn't mind his company. He really hadn't been paying attention to any sort of socialization the two may have been having as he decided to focus on the assignment at hand. Koda wasn't entirely a fan of someone reading into his future but there was nothing he could really do about it if he wanted to keep his high marks in the class.

Koda had received Collin's cup before he even had the chance to down his own tea. Koda finally made a sound by sighing as he threw the contents back in one large swig before passing his cup to McKenna who happened to be sitting on his left. He was sure she'd have an interesting prediction for him. Koda focused on Collins cup though he hardly looked at his textbook as he scribbled down predictions into his spiral notebook.

Kieran was able to breathe a sigh of relief when Dom had been the one to answer her call. At least now Kieran wouldn't be completely tortured with Helena's constant and unwanted flirting. Plus they were sort of friends so it wasn't like they were horrible company towards each other. Helena also loved a challenge when it came to Dom which would take some of the attention off of Kieran for once.

Kieran had flipped open her text book just as she gulped down her tea. Unfortunately for her, Helena was to her left and the one reading her fortune while Kieran would be attempting to read Dom's. She waited for him to hand her his cup already knowing she would have no idea how to decipher any of it. Such a shame for Kieran and her grade.
