"Wild horses run in me"

Appearance:
Wild as the scottish landscapes, with depths and heights of the valleys and mountains. Untamed as the forest and a gaze intense and clear as the stone-filled steams. Yona is a fierce lass, always bringing out the "brave" in her appearance. She do suffer from bad self esteem, something that few people know of. And its not something she is willing to share, but if you get to know her really well you might understand the little signals/clues she gives every now and then.
As a child, Yona was always very small and fragile. Having 2 older brothers made her somehow the tiny little lamb. Defenceless and fragile. She had to grow quite a strong personality to stand up against them teasing her all the time. And with that strong personality comes a fitting look. Her hair is honey brown (not ginger) but a rather golden tone. She mostly wears it down, all natural and messy/weavy. Kind of a grunge look. Sometimes she'll style it in two long braids or messy buns that also show off her side fringe one normally dont notice.

Despite her untamed hair, she is not a boyish girl when it comes to the rest of her appearance. Having that youthful/childish and delicate face features; round cheeks, small and sharp nose, feminine lips and playful eyebrows. Her skin in pale and smooth and eyes are big with an intense stone gray color. She do wear make up: eyeliner and mascara giving her a "cat-eye" look. Her clothes are nothing special (not too sensational) but still with a touch of "Leiyona". Her school uniform are often put together like this- her own "touch" of the dresscode being over knee socks. Her own clothes (after classes) look a bit like this. Often including jeans, fringed fabric, leather, mocha, floral pattern, knitted or just clothes that are very "second hand".

As i mentioned before, growing up Yona was always the shortest and smallest in a family with tall genes. Even her little sister came to outgrow her. She is not a midged anymore tho, 5''4 rather normal. But she still hates when people "look down" on her and still having "height issues" and low self esteem when it comes to this. And her agile and slender silhuette might add to her being precived as shorter, more fragile and younger than she is.

In some ways, i guess Yona envy her little sister : being both taller but also having more curves then herself. Yonas body is quite atletic and slim. Her waist is her most prominent feature of her body, being tiny. And the word to describe her curves would probably be "cute". Yona can eat as much she'd like without getting any more bodyfat on "the right places", to her chagrin.

Some of her unique feutures are: • Her childish and cute smile • a small beauty spot on her lower side of the cheek • the little nosewrinkles she get when she is angry • a scar on her right ear • some rose tattos on her left hip.

"Our human hearts forget how strong they are"

Personality: Strong-willed. Fierce. Brave. Caring. Sharp.
Yona is no guardian angel, but she is extremely righteous and brave. She hate seing people get bullied and would without doubt step in to take the beating instead of the victim. Pain does not bother her that much, but to see others in pain is something she can't stand. She would not hesitate a second to put her life in danger for a stranger, thats just the way Yona are. Her mind, heart and spirit being stronger than most. But she do have a tendancy of trying to "save" too many- trying to carry the whole world on her shoulders. Not having a "limit" results in her "close to collapse" moments where her sadness almost consumes her. Always putting other people before herself.

Most people probably think she is childish. You will often se her smile, laugh and share a joke or a few with her friends. She is also very teasing, sarcastic and yes - a bit childish from time to time. But she can be serious too. And when she is serious, you know you're in trouble. Never start a fight with the "serious" Yona. This is where she turns into a roaring lion.

She is not particularly loud-mothed, but she can snap people off when she speaks her mind. And she often surprise people by being way smarter than what she gives the impression of being. She is sharp, quickthinking, good at arguing ( getting a bit too compeditive here tho) and tend to "say the right things". She is definitely not always intense, wild and brave. She do have a soft side she mainly showing when hanging out with friends. That shy and humble Yona with bad self esteem. She hates when people compliment her and always brush them of saying "it's nothing". Bragging about her knowledge is something she would never do as well, resulting in her "holding back" on her abilities in front of people.

Yona is quite observant on her sorroundings and the people around her, often noticing the small things. Being on the "alert" she is always quite tense and ready for the worst. Like a child with big eyes, gazing upon the world, trying to take in as much as possible. She rather put her attention on others than face herself and her emotions. This is where she put up a brave facade, struggeling with some darkness inside her- mainly being the loss of her father. She don't feel any fear towards others and the world around her, but i do think she is very scared of her own feelings.

But in whole, she is a kindhearted and caring person. You treat her nice and she'll never forget it. She really treasures good deeds. And she accepts even the darkness in people, thinking that all humans / animals / species should be valued equally, accepted and respected. She will judge you based on your actions towards her and others, and maby even give you a second and a third chance to be able to listen your version of the story. She rarely hates the person in whole, but rather their actions. She is a good listener and can also act like a "punshing bag" for people to let their steam off.

"May my heart be kind, my mind fierce and my spirit brave"

"I'll be strong and brave enough... Not for me tho...
I'll keep on fighting- for you"

"And they get lost along the way"

History:
Yonas life started in Scotland, but as things started to get shaky in the wizarding world there (even for the purebloods being called "traitors") - her parents decided to travel across the continent to seek for a safe upbringing for their children. She's had a loving childhood with a lot of caring family members and friends. One younger sister (Eliza) and 2 older brothers (Simon and Robert), who always used to tease her crazy. Her father (Pete) worked as security for the Department of Defence, (he was one outstanding wizard). Sadly their new life in the states was not as safe as they'd though, and her father got murdered on duty - a loss that split the hole family whom never felt sadness and emtyness before. Her mother (Ophena) works as a healer in the local wizard hospital. She is also trying hard to keep the family together as a widowed mother (not showing her true feelings). Yona still comes home on holidays and during summer, but the joy is blowned away. Home is not the same without her father.

Yona has been around magic all her life, and muggle things confuses her a bit. Her family is one of pureblood, but the name of "McFleirn" is big and they have many relatives. Later they seem to mix in with halfbloods and muggles as well. The bigger family the marrier. Its not whats in your genes/blood, its where your heart lies. They might be called "traitors" among purebloods and they are working class (poor). Yona don't like money or super rich people. And she don't care what people call her as she hangs out with whoever she likes.

Talents
Charms and hexes. This is Yonas biggest joy and she is quite talanted and facinated by the possibilities this magic gives. Her father was always pushing her to become a spell-maker since Yona loves to experiment with magic to create useful things.
Healing magic + Shamanism. When it comes to healing injuries and illness- Yona is your girl. She is indeed her mothers daughter. Her family is often assuming she's going to follow in her mothers footsteps. Yona is not sure yet tho.. But helping people in need feels so natural for her. Giving her an excuse to focus on others before herself. Shamanism is her latest discovery, and she loves losing herself in this magic. Especially the telepathically communicating is something she has mastered and find very useful. She is still fighting an inner war whether or not shamanism is part dark magic. But she often come to the conclusion that a little darkness is needed to create a brighter light and she is willing to use all means to help people. Plus, turning to spirits seems to lift the burden from her shoulders for a moment.
Potions. Yona was being taught healing potions by her mother since before she came to Remington. But she's quite talanted when brewing other potions as well. Being a natural behind the cauldron and with mixing ingredients, plus she is not afraid to experiment and go "offroad" the instructions to get a perfect result.
Wandless and non verbal magic. As a child, she did often exert magic by mistake. And soon she began sneaking out to the forest to practise wandless magic whenever she'd find the time. Something she never let go of, even after getting her wand. Non verbal spells was also something she started practicing early on, at first to be able to surprice her older brothers.
Care of Magical Creatures. Yona love animals, ALL ANIMALS. Do i need to say more?

Weakness
Dark Magic. Big no no for her. Fight fire with fire you say? I'd like to disagree. Yona rather fights fire with water.
DADA. Yona is a bit tired of dada as well. She dislike the fact that they NEED to be able to defend themselves. Or in Yonas case, she wants to be able to defend the people she loves. The later one making her want to get better, and she keeps struggeling.
Duels. Yona don't see the meaning in this. You hurt her and she doesn't care. But you hurt someone else, and you have awakened the lion.
Divination. She believes in it, but it still makes her yawn during class.

Fears: Heights (mainly riding broomsticks). She loves quodpot, but she has never sat up on a broom. She is happy just sitting on the bench and cheering on her fav team. Climbing trees are fine tho, but brooms - thats another story!

Wand: 9 ½ '' - inflexible - Rosewood - Unicorn Hair
House and Grade: Orenda / 11th
Patronus: Bobcat
Boggart: Shadows of dead bodys lying on the ground. She is afraid of losing people she loves.
Familiars: Yonas personal pet is a beautiful patterned bengal cat named Gulliwer. Her family also have a grumpy tiger owl named Rue who bit Yonas ear, resulting in a scar.

00000...Remington's academic year is in full swing. The leaves began to turn deep shades of red and rusted oranges. Students study for their OWLs or practice Quodpot out in the quad. And when the free time comes they prepare for the All Hollows Eve Ball that will commence in a weeks time. A celebratory dance to celebrate the new world order, Remington and her students. Now starts another week of classes bright and early an autumn Monday morning.

Being the morning bird she was, Moira was up long before the sound of her alarm or the starting of the chirps outside her window. She was to the baths and back before another student even stirred in their beds. She'd be lying if she denied the fact that she spent more than what was necessary on her appearance. But it seemed to be one of the few things she had control over in her life so she insisted on doing it regardless of time.

Unlike his sister, Ramsey hated the bloody morning and would much rather spend the remainder of the day in bed. He detested going to class nearly as much as he hated the school and practically everyone in it. He growled at the annoying noise that was his alarm clock blaring in his ears. He tried to roll over and smother his head in the pillow but to no avail. With a growl he yanked the clock from the wall then chucked it across the room at Drachen's head. "Oy! Asshole!"

He stumbled out of his bed, cursing as he stumbled over the mess of shit they left strewn upon the floor. Ramsey shuffled his way around the room in just his boxers, scratching his abdomen while yawning. He looked back over to Drachen, rolling his eyes. "Get up you lazy ass!" He ripped the blanket from him and chucked it across the room.

It didn't take long for him to get dressed in his far too expensive uniform. He snatched up his books and let Lenox, his quite large and hairy tarantula climb its way up onto his shoulder. "I'm going to go get Moira. You coming?" He slid on a pair of sunglasses while looking back towards Drachen.

Moira had finally finished getting ready just on schedule like every other day. She scooped up her books and slid them into her backpack. When she went to reach for her wand her hand started to feel around but came up empty handed. "Where in the world..." She whispered to herself as she looked around. Her eyes locked on her mischievous kitty, "Jinx?" Moira smiled as she walked over to her cat, carefully scooping her up into her arms finding her wand beneath her. "Stinker."

After finishing to collect her things, she headed out of her room only to be stopped running straight into a wall of a chest. She slowly glances up with a smile on her facing. But it quickly fades when she locked eyes with a hairy spider. She thought that maybe it was someone else and instead it was her brother. "A smile for me? You're too kind."

She scoffed, "I thought you... Were someone else." She held the door open waiting for her cat to prance out after her.

"Might I ask who you were expecting then?" He put his hand against the wall, blocking her in the doorway.

"No one." She slammed the door behind her and ducked under his arm.

Ramsey clenched his jaw as he shifted to offer his arm to his sister, "Come Moira, time for Divination."

Moira picked up Jinx and began to stroke her ears as she paced around the common room. "I do know how to get there brother." She had no desire to walk there with her brother because that not only meant him but most likely Drachen as well. Instead she continued to doddle around the common room hoping that someone else would walk past and save her from having to accompany her brother.

Ramsey slammed his fist against a near by table which made Moira jump and Jinx just about jump from her arms. She held her breath waiting for the price of denying him, but thankfully before he could do something a couple Laveau students walked through the common room waving towards her, "Hi Moira!" She waved back with a smile.

He angrily pushed off the table, "Don't be late for class or Father will hear about it." Without another word he adjusted his blazer and made his way to class, leaving Moira waiting in the common room.

Ramsey got to class with plenty of time to spare. He took his usual seat towards the back in the darkest corner of the room. He kicked the chair in front of it, spinning it around so he had a foot rest. He then leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest and waited, staring at the door.

Chase was sound asleep for far too long and would have remained so if it weren't for the sounds of already loud and rambunctious Fawkes kids weren't running around the common room. His blanket had long abandoned him somewhere in the middle of the night, along with an arm and leg both dangling over the edge of the bed. When the scream of a first year echoed outside his door he startled awake and fell to the ground. "What did I miss?" He wiped drool from his cheek as he looked around lethargically.

It 3 yawns and a good couple dozen of rubs to his eyes before he was able to actually open them enough to look at the clock. When he was able to read what it said he was up faster than he thought was possible, "Shit!!" He darted around the room, stubbing his toe on something new every second or two. "God dammit..."

Somehow he managed to get dressed in 2 minutes flat. His shirt tail was untucked, tie untied just dangling around his neck and a vest loosely draped on his shoulders. He ran out of his room shutting the door behind him. After a second or two he ran back, "Fritz!"" The dark ferret scurried out from under the blanket on the floor. Chase quickly snatched him up and placed him in his backpack. He grabbed a beanie that laid on the ground and then sprinted for class.

He was nearly to class, tugging the hat onto his head to cover his messy bed head. But then he was stopped dead in his steps when he nearly slammed in Professor Blackwood. "Professor."

He nodded his head before going to run around him. He was almost in the clear when the teacher grabbed him by his backpack and spun him around. "Not so fast."

Chase sighed, "What is it this time?" He said while sloppily tucking in half of his shirt.

"Get that uniform tidied up before class or you'll get another detention. Unless you'd fancy cleaning the owlery... Again." Professor Blackwood smiled slightly before nodding his head for Chase to hurry off.

He smiled towards the teacher, "Thanks!" He then continued towards class while finishing tucking in his shirt and tying his necktie.

Chase entered the class room not a moment after he finally got his uniform in order. He let out a relieved sigh before making his way to a table somewhere in the middle of the classroom. Once he sat down, Fritz wasted no time in running out of the backpack and moving to curl up into a ball in his lap.

Another monday morning had appeared out of nowhere - just like the weekend just passed by on a firebold broomstick. Another week with classes and probably even more homework was ahead of them. And not to mention the All Hollows Eve Ball taking place in just a weeks time! Making most of the girls giggle in expectation, and most of the boys just walk around mumbling and being nervous.

The season was getting darker, and autumn was showing clearly. The leaves turning in to different shades of yellow, orange and red. Giving the illusion of the tree's being on fire. Rain season had begun. And whenever it happened to rain, the drops where smattering softly against the leaves creating a calming sound very fitting to the beautiful season. As the weather was getting harsher - so was the waves further down at the gulf of Maine. Smashing against the cliffs as a result of the winds and the currents.

For a change, the sky was clear today. Making a stream of sunlight finding its way between the red velvet curtains in Tim's room. He was already awake. Not that he was a "morning person", but rather not sleeping much at all - resulting in a slight shade of dark bags under his black eyes. Instead of studying or spending time on his appearance, he was killing the time with push ups.

In the corner of his eyes he could catch a glimpse of his black rat Nightmare, who was climbing up his bed and making hissing noises.
"Don't give me that look Mary! Just a couple more!" he gasped as the sweat trickled down his face. Doing a couple more push-ups, he then stood up and grinned. "200!" he said and wiped his forehead. Being topless, he did not have to worry about any tshirt getting sweaty. But he did have to freshen up, shower, before classes. So he headed for the baths, but stopped on the way like he'd forgotten something. "Oh right!" he said as he went back to the desk, pulling out a drawer and finding half of a meatball he'd snuck out from dinner yesterday. "Here you go my lady" he said in a joking "noble" tone as he gave the food to the black rat sitting on his bed. She grabbed it from his hand and immediately started to munch on it, making her whiskers twitch up and down as she was chewing.

Timothy was not the guy to care for his appearance. After washing away all the sweat and now smelling "presentable". He just took some quick strokes with the toothbrush, putting on some deo and perfume and slipped on a pair of black pants (tight around his ankles and a bit baggy around the bum), a white shirt and a grey knitted cardigan. The neck tie was one of his "things" always wearing ones with chaotic patterns on. Today wearing a checked one.

His hair was still wet (almost dripping) when he left the dormitory and headed for the divination classroom. He let his fingers slide through the blond locks, almost making his hair even more messy. That rule with "hair should be coiffed" was not a possibility for Tim. His hair was just naturally a curly chaos, making even the teachers realize the fact and start to give up.

Being a "night person", Yona hated mornings.. especially monday mornings. She was still asleep, her leg wrapped around the blanket "embracing it" as she sleep like a log. Her golden hair was spread out on the pillow, almost looking like some kind of gloria around her peaceful face.

"Thats not how you brew a wiggenweld potion... " she mumbled and turned around in her bed. Leiyona was quite famous for talking in her sleep, whether she liked it or not. Her biggest fear was probably blurting out something brutally honest (hurting someone) or talking during the nightmares she sometimes had about her fathers death. Not that she thought her roomie, Ophelia, would judge her. But Yona was not ready to open up quite yet. Instead, she was always putting on that "brave" facade.

Her beauty sleep was interrupted by the sound of the alarm, making Yona wrinkle her nose and yawn. She fumbled for the clock and was eager to turn off the terrible noise giving her headache. She stood up on wobbly legs and dragged herself out in to the little living room she shared with Fee. Scratching her leg and heading for Ophelias room, almost in a zombie-like state. Instead of bursting in, she just knocked on her door, letting out another yawn."Rise and shine beautiful" she said before heading to the bathroom. Only wearing panties and an ugly oversize tshirt - she started to get ready for the day. Yona was not the girl to "spend hours" on her appearance. She was like a robot in the morning, and did what she had to do. To be able to sleep for as long as possible, she compromised it by being very efficient.

Getting cleaned up, brushing her teeth, putting on her make up. Mainly being a pitch black dip-liner giving her the "cat eye" look. Back to her room - putting on her school uniform. White button up shirt with a big black neck bow, brown cardigan with black buttons, black short pleated skirt. Nude pantyhoses and beige over knee socks with 2 white stripes on. The over knee socks being her attribute to the otherwise boring dress code.

She combed her hair and styled it in two braids before feeling "satisfied". Before leaving for divination class, she went for her bed to pick up her backpack with books. Giving Gulliwer, her beautiful orange bengal cat, a few strokes- making him purr.
"Im leaving for class Fee!" she announced before walking out from the dormitory and steering her steps towards the classroom.

Image
On his way to class, Tim recognized the familiar backside of Leiyona. The two golden braids and the over knee socks giving her away. Since she still had the "upper hand" on their pranking games, he decided to get revenge. A bright smile appeared on his face as he sneaked up behind her, putting his fingers to each side of her tiny waist.

"Iiiiiiiiihh" a loud squeak sounded as she half jumped while turning around. Not that she was surprised, looking up and facing the tall and goofy figure of Timothy Cohen. Sighting when seeing the spark in his black eyes and the smug smile on his lips, flashing his distinct smile dimples. Yona just gave him her famous "furious look", almost having flames in her pupils.

"You will pay for this! Remember the worms in your spaghetti? I can do much worse. Just wait and see" she said with a serious, steady and sharp voice. Exposing a slight tone of her Scottish accent. Put together, meaning she meant business. She corrected her cardigan, rolling her eyes while turning around tripping off for class not waiting for Tim at all. She sat down at the back of the classroom, close to the windows and sank down. Leaning her face forward, almost lying down on the desk - not much different from a melted puddle. Divination was not one of her strengths. It was however something she believed in, even so- still being her precious "nap time" and making her yawn.

Image
Tim on the other hand, was taking a seat close to Chase. "Blue" he greeted him just nodding short. Then leaning forward and letting the dark eyes gaze down in Chase's lap - seeing the little black ferret curled up in a ball.
"Hello there little friend" he said, looking down. Reaching forward with his arm to stroke the extremely soft fur - just 2 soft strokes before leaning back on his chair again.

The whole thing probably looked extremely wrong/comical to the ones not knowing Fritz was lying in Chase's lap. But that was just typical Tim. Not respecting personal space, not thinking of his surroundings and very often doing awkward things / saying something that could be misinterpreted. He pulled out the books, dropping them on the desk with a muted thud. Before gazing over his shoulder (looking at the door) to see who else would show up...

The days of studying magics under the roof of Remington Academy sure pass by in a flash. It has been quite an energetic and eventful year, just like how it has always been before. Before anyone could have noticed, autumn has come. The leaves had abandoned their fresh, tranquil coats of green and slowly turned into a radiant red, embellished with hues of range. It was like every tree was setting ablaze. The breezes had also become chillier, the rains had become denser. There's probably nothing that would be more satisfying around times like this than being able to be around friends and family, together next to the burning fireplace.

All Hollows Eve Ball has become the hottest topic in the past few weeks. It's a rare opportunity for the students to relax and put all thoughts regarding the dreaded lectures and subjects away, in just one night. Everything is now in the stages of preparation and there's definitely not a single wizard and witch in school who wouldn't be looking forward to it. It will certainly be a memorable night for all of them.

But for now, a brand new Monday and another week of hardworking has just begun, lively as ever.

Image

It was yet another beautiful day - the sun was shining, the white cloud drifting peacefully on the sky, the birds are chirping, stuffs like that, and for someone who felt that it would be such a waste to stay still just for one minute like him, it's not a surprise that he had gotten up this early in the morning, even before his alarm clock set off. Not that Vincent would really need it anyway. But you'll never know what will happen in a surprising situation so, just in case, really. Despite not looking like it, Vincent is actually quite punctual, and follows his own schedules orderly. If he had a pet, maybe it would hold the duty of waking him up every morning, but Vincent and familiars don't really get along that much, so he'll pass.

After stretching a little bit when stepping down from his bed, Vincent glanced at the wall him and Chase - the best roommate he had ever been assigned to, who was probably still sleeping peacefully on the other bedroom, with his familiar curling next to him. Chuckling at the sight that he had imagined, Vincent couldn't help admitting how cute the guy is. Normally, Chase is cute and hot, all at the same time, so there's no question over why he was so popular around the the House of Fawkes. He's also a beast on bed too. Vincent mischievously thought, in regard to that time which was long ago now.

There's no reason for Vincent to force Chase to get up this early with him, so he just let the guy continued to wander in the dreamworld. Taking off the white tank top and the pair of shorts that he was wearing, Vincent takes a nice bath and spice himself up for a while in the bathroom. It's not like that he was being flamboyant or anything, but as a self-proclaimed fashionista, he knows he must always looks "just right."

Taking a couple of minutes to put his uniform after having washed every speck of dust off his body, Vincent then applied his favorite Ralph Lauren Polo. He checked if he has everything he needed in his bag, made a sandwich from whatever they have left in the cupboard of the kitchen for his breakfast, and then made his way out of the room. It's still quite early before the first subject of the day which is Divination. However, Vincent has a Transfiguration report that he needed to take care of, so he made his way to the Grand Library of Remington.

As Vincent walked his way through the Common Room, a few Fawkes students walked pass him and greeted, "Mornin' Vince." And he greeted back with his trademark gummy smile. He doesn't bump into anyone who was his acquaintances on his trek to the Library, but that's understandable because sleeping in was a popular habit, after all. But thankfully, he doesn't have to cross path with any of the supremacist jerks either. If I had to deal with them this early in a week, I'll be damned for sure.

Pushing the giant, wooden door of the Library, the first thing that welcomed him was the sight of what would probably a gazillion of books, filling every shelf that is presented. Perhaps it would take even longer than an eternity to sit down and read every single one of them. Greeting the librarian and showing his pass, Vincent headed for the Transfiguration sector to get his materials. Since magic is not allowed here, he has to carried them all by himself, but they weren't that heavy.

And it was when he approached the reading tables that he saw a familiar figure, who was seemingly indulging herself in her books. "Mornin' Eve, studious as ever, eh?" Vincent smiled brightly and spoke not too loudly to gain Evelyn's attention and took a seat across her, "How are you doing, lovely? Did you sleep well yesterday?"

He chatted for a while with her about trivial things, before sighing and come back to the main thing that he was supposed to focus on. "I have to finish this report about the classifications of Transfiguration in great details and I have to hand it in for Prof. Erin tonight or else she'll turn me into a cup or something. Why couldn't it be as easy as Charms?" Vincent whimpered, but then smiled again, "But I guess it was my lucky day to meet the Transfiguration genius here. Hope you can help me a tinny little bit?" He winked to her.

Thanks for Evelyn, Vincent had managed to get the report done, and it's 15 minutes away until the Divination begins. "Well, let's head to our classroom, shall we? It's better that we're not late, Prof. Kang is cool, but she can be scary when she's infuriated."

With that said, Vincent accompanies Evelyn as both of them headed for their Divination Classroom. Walking in, Vincent saw that a number of his friends have made it here, which included Chase, Timothy and Leiyona. "Hey there, guys." Vincent greeted them all with yet another bright smile before sitting down at a seat close to Timothy. Vincent, like many others around school, finds Divination to be a huge laughing stock. However, it was fortunate for him that it wasn't that dreadfully hard for him devour, so the best he could do is to try and earn good scores in tests.

From a stranger's point of view, the cold weather was turning the trees bashful; making their branches shiver and causing their leaves to blush. The year had come as it always did: unfalteringly post-haste, and already the students of Remington Academy were seeing its back.

And yet, there was still so much to be done. Exams, quodpot, inevitable drama... and, of course, the All Hallow's Eve Ball. Halloween on its own was a popular time for the magical folk of the world; potions could be brewed more effectively, divination flowed more freely even into the most closed-off of minds, and magic in general seemed to shiver with anticipation cum October 31st. But with the Ball, there was all the more reason to celebrate. Finally, for one night, students would have the opportune moment to abandon their worries, concerns, troubles, and inhibitions, in favor of freedom and music and fun.

But first they'd have to sit impatiently through one more week of lessons and learning, much to their undoubted chagrin.

Despite the clustering grey that covered the sky, sunlight somehow managed to filter through the drawn curtains. The morning frost glittered outside, and in peaceful slumber, the figure lay beneath layers of fleece and sheet. At least, until a sharp beak clenched down hard on his unprotected ear.

"Ow! Myong mi-?!" An angry hand appeared from beneath the covers, swatting angrily at the barred owl. As the figure raised his head, the bird squawked indignantly, hopping deftly away. Dominic appeared with gritted teeth, raising his other hand to his ear. He noted the blood the cut left on his fingers with annoyance, scowling at the bird as it flew to safety atop the dresser. "Ya! Ikun mwoya?!" The owl only squawked again, and the boy heaved a frustrated sigh as he climbed out of bed. Stopping by the mirror, he inspected the short nick on his ear, rubbing the line of red away with his thumb before grabbing his uniform and getting changed.

By the time he was out the door and on his way to divination, the thin touch of red on the top of his left ear was collecting together and threatening to spill again. It would seem his blood was as stubborn as he himself.

Hardly one for rules or tidiness, Dom's shirt was half untucked, and the black studs (or 'monstrocities', as Professor Wolfart had called them) that adorned his earlobes were enchanted, the white text to change depending on his mood. Right now, they read 'zzz'. Apparently he was still tired.

Walking into the classroom, his eyes quickly scanned the desks. Noting Mac's current absence, Dom walked over to where Vincent and Chase sat, shooting them a lopsided smile as he passed them to sit at the desk behind them.

Fee awoke far more comfortably than her cousin did; to a pleasant voice calling through her door as opposed to a grouchy familiar tearing a hole in her earlobe. Still, however, she moaned in annoyance, pulling the duvet over her head. It wasn't that she didn't like mornings, quite the opposite, in fact. Fee loved the hues of dawn, and the way frost made the grass glitter, and the way the world seemed to wake up all at once. But Fee liked lazy mornings. The mornings when you could rise at your own accord, and wander about your home at a relaxed pace. Sit on the couch for a little while. Read a book. Listen to some music. Drink a cup of cocoa or eight.

This was, unfortunately, a decidedly unlazy morning. And for that reason, despite her urge to remain cozy under her covers, Fee slid out of bed. In a zombie-like state, she wandered in her pajamas down to the common room, plucked a plate from the pantry, upon which a slice of french toast magically appeared. Then she turned on her heel and returned to her dorm room. By this point, her fellow Orendas had learnt not to bother communicating with her. Whilst in zombie-mode, she wasn't exactly communicative, and someone could probably blow up the common around her and she wouldn't notice. They'd have better luck waiting for a post-shower Fee.

After said shower, Fee was considerably more awake. Putting on her uniform and slipping a woolen cardigan over her shoulders -house colors, of course- she made her way to divination. Catching sight of her professor in the hallway, Fee smiled.

"Morning, Professor."

Professor Kang surveyed her, expression humored. "Indeed it is." A single, manicured finger rose to the corner of her mouth, tapping it in indication. With a frown, Fee looked at her reflection in the corridor window. After a sharp, horrified intake of breath, she rubbed aggressively at the toothpaste smudge that marred the edge of her mouth.

"Thank you, professor." A smile tugged at Kang's features, and Fee followed her into the divination classroom.

By the time Fee had made her way to the desk beside Vincent, and offered the group a friendly, "Hey," The smile had returned to her features.

Professor Kang, meanwhile, was back to her typical, calm and collected expression. "Good morning, everyone. I trust you all had a good weekend."

Fall was in full swing, leaves were steadilly dropping to the ground creating a golden blanket over the grounds of Remington Academy. its trees stood almost bare and rustled cheerfully in the cool breeze. The school had of course take its precautions against the cold and fireplaces were stoked in the halls and classrooms to keep the building warm.

While the chills sent a few shivers through those taking up residence at the school it was very apparent that Remington's occupants were full of the hottest and latest news on who was taking who to the upcoming ball. Naturally in the coming weeks it was clear the teachers were going to get very little from their students as the event was surely far more important than a few grades.

___________________________________________________________

Sunlight shone through the old dusty windows of the Chandra dorm room, the happy beams of light danced playfully over the closed eyes of one Evelyn Wright. She seemed rather peaceful in her sleep and hand a hand resting upon soft fluffy white fur. There were soft purrs emanating from the fur ball and when Eve finally opened her eyes and tried her best to blink away the sun she found herself staring into beautiful light blue eyes.
"Mmm-Morning... Felix." The cat named after the inventor of cheering charms purred happily at her and she took a few minutes to pet his head and scratch behind his ears before she finally resigned herself to getting up. It was much earlier than she needed to be up but sadly one Evelyn had woken she was cursed with the inability to fall back asleep.

Deciding this was a blessing rather than a curse she got to her feet and began her morning ritual of dressing and fixing her hair. She contemplated a number of silly socks before deciding she would just wear some flats. Turning then to do her hair she fixed it in a wave behind her back and remembered to slip a flower into her hair. It wasn't often that Eve didn't have some sort of floral arrangement in her hair. She slipped her green and gold fabric bracelet onto her arm as a symbol of her house and decided that she looked rather pretty this day.

When she was finally ready she gave Felix a kiss farewell and moved into the common area of the Chandra dorm. Here she readied herself a steaming cup of green tea. She hummed a soft tune as she powered down some cereal and when she was finished she whispered a quick cleaning spell over the dishes and set them aside for someone else to use. It seemed she was the only one up so far and so she made sure to be extra quiet when she grabbed her green backpack of school work and her tea. She left the Dorm and made her way towards Remington's Library. There she could get some work done before the first class of the day: Divination.

Divination was a class that Eve couldn't seem to master despite her best efforts. It had gotten to the point where she was beginning to make things up just to ensure she had something to say when she was forced to look into the fog. Her latest premonition had been that she was going to loose something important to her. However it seemed this wasn't the case so far.
While in the merry month of May from me home I started, Left the girls of Tuam so sad and broken hearted... She whispered to herself as she settled herself in the Library. She pulled out some History of Magic Essay she had been working on about the victimization of Vampires in the 1700's. The tune she sang softly was clearly Irish and made her think of home. There was always some form of music playing at home, mainly Irish tunes as the Wrights were quite proud of their heritage.

She had begun work on flipping to a page in her book when a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. Her head moved up and she looked upon the friendly face of Vincent. She broke into a beam and straightened suddenly. Vincent of course was her most dear friend and she treasured him greatly. He asked her how she was and called her lovely, sending a small blush of delight into her cheeks. Being a red head she was cursed with blushes. He asked her how she had slept and Eve shrugged.
"It was good, no strange dreams no nightmare. I feel rested." She told him. They continued to chat for a while and she set aside her books and let her attention focus directly on her friend. Eve had always placed a higher value on friendship than any grade she could get.

Vincent moved their conversation to explain he needed some help with his transfiguration and she perked up at the idea of being of use. Laughing as he seemed a little frightened of the idea of being turned into a cup she lifted her own tea and said "Cheers then. Let's see what we can do."

They finished with only a few minutes to spare to get to Divination and so Eve gathered her things and walked with Vincent to class. Already quite a few students had made it and they were sitting haphazardly around the room. She noticed that Vincent took a seat close to Timothy and sighed inwardly. Why him? she thought to herself but deciding she could deal with it she sat down as well and smiled at the others.

This was not exactly the best morning for Collin Huff. He'd spent a sleepless night in his room waiting for word of his father. Henry Huff had been attending yet another rally overseas to protest the Dark Lord reign and it had been over twenty four hours since he had heard from him. When Henry was off fighting for the cause he always ensured he kept in contact with his son to let him know that he was still alive. However this owl was late and it was driving Collin a little crazy. His knee rattled impatiently and when he heard the sound of owl talons scratching against the window he jerked up and rushed over.

The owl carried a small scrap of paper and when it had successfully delivered its note it left without giving Collin the chance to thank it. He rolled open the paper and let out a breath.

All is well

The words were quickly scrawled down and Collin felt a wave of relief move through him and he sank back down onto his bed. It took him a moment or two to process that everything was going to be alright, at least for the moment. Deciding then that he could get a move on with his day Collin stood and began to search his sheets until he found a small dark lump snoozing near the end of the bed. He scooped up the animal and it let out a small squeak of surprise to which Collin apologize deeply for.
"Ah Shit. Sorry Vinny. I didn't mean..." He trailed off and looked at the mouse apologetically. He placed Vinny in the pocket of his trousers and adjusted the straps on his suspenders. He had yet to change out of yesterdays clothes and when he checked the time he decided he could just wear them again.

It wouldn't do to be late again. So Collin gathered his things for class and remembered to spray on some body mist so at least he wouldn't smell too musty. He left his room and grabbed an apple, a yogurt and an bar to eat on the way to class. The thought that his father was alive and well put a little spring into his step and he walked past Professor Blackwood and gave the man a nod before entering the classroom.

There were already a few people there and so he took a seat near the back and sighed a little. He spotted his Friends Yona and Tim and sent them a cheerful smile before he looked down at his food. He opened the bar of Oats nuts and placed it on the desk, her crushed it and let the crumbs lie where they will. Vinny hearing the sound of breakfast eagerly climbed out of his pocket and onto the desk where he munched happily.

And so another day had begun.

Having grown up in something of a dungeon, it was perhaps no surprise that Torrence Hollingsworth felt so at home nestled deeply within stone walls. Lyonhearth Manor was an estate teeming with history, quite a bit of it hidden under the surface. Secret passages and corridors were everywhere if you knew where to look, and over the years, thanks to one McKenna James, Torrence had come to know the network very well. His favorite spot however, remained the large stone antechamber Mac had affectionately named the “Hub”, as it had numerous splintering hallways that led to dozens of places throughout the campus. It’s large, open, circular interior also provided a convenient space for his private projects, effectively functioning as a workshop of sorts. His corner to the left was littered with wires, hunks of jittering metal, and various contraptions with blinking lights and unperceivable purposes. Posters of muggle bands littered the walls, working effectively as both decor, and elaborate system of tunnel markers.

“Still no luck trying to convert spells into coding? What are you even trying to get it to do anyway?” A familiar set of blonde curls came bouncing into view out of the north tunnel. It wasn’t uncommon for Mac to take morning excursions through the tunnels, but that passage only let out onto the grounds and forest.

“It’s seven in the morning, and you’ve already been out hiking. Do you not sleep or something?” Toric’s voice held an edge, aggravated that she would go off on her own like that. Some of the tunnels and chambers they explored looked more like decrepit ruins, and the thought of Mac getting caught up in something out there alone made Toric uneasy.

“Ha! That’s rich coming from you! Did you even go to bed last night?” Toric’s silence was the only confirmation Mac needed to smugly continue on. “You’re gonna be in for a rough ride if you get caught snoozing in divination again. A real shame that’d be.”

“Since when did you start caring about divination? You’re usually the one cheering to skip it.” Toric snorted in reply, never losing a beat with his coding. He fell into the banter easily, unwilling to start a fight this early in the morning.

“Are you kidding, a week before the dance?! I’m taking bets on how many desperate dopes start reading pick up lines in their tea leaves!” Mac cackled. “Speaking of...have you got a date yet or what? You can’t sit out every social event on campus. The loner genius bit gets tacky after a while.”

Toric’s ears turned an embarrassing shade of red, but if his mind flashed briefly to a certain Orenda girl with hair as unpredictable as her whims, he didn’t give Mac the satisfaction of letting on. “Yeah well, who exactly are you going with hmm? I heard Lukas Krauter was planning to ask you, but he’s a pig working down the list, so I wouldn’t take it personally.”

“Ew, not even as a joke dude.” Mac made a face. Lukas was a decent enough sort, well groomed, athletic, proportional and all that. He just suffered under the unfortunate delusion that he was god’s gift to women, giving him all the confidence of Casanova without any of the charm.

“I’ve got a few prospects in mind.” Mac recovered quickly with a grin, a glint in her eyes that Toric knew all too well.

“Oh just leave the poor guy alone!” Toric groused, finally shoving away from the makeshift contraption he called a computer to stretch his limbs. “Next to Frenching the guy in potions, I’m not sure how much more forward you could be. If he liked you, don’t you think he’d have said something by now?” Koda Cheveyo got enough harassment on a daily basis without Mac hanging off his arm every chance she got. Sometimes when a guy was brooding and unresponsive, it just meant they wanted to be left alone, a fact Toric could attest to.

“It’s a work in progress.” Mac admitted grudgingly. “Besides, with what I’ve got planned for today, even he’s gonna crack a smile!” She declared, quickly regaining her optimism. Toric just shook his head, recognizing a losing battle when he saw one. Toric had a bad feeling Mac was just going to have to learn the hard way.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If Mac spent the better part of an hour after her shower taming her her curls into a coiffe and making sure her makeup was just right, the young witch was willing to forgive herself for the exercise in vanity. Mac never looked like a slouch, but a monday morning session of divination rarely warranted such effort. Today however, had to be perfect, right down to the matching gold buttons. Koda’s brooding nature had proved a formidable adversary, but today she was going to get those perfect cupid bow lips of his to curve into a smile...and maybe a few less innocent things, but for now, Mac would settle for a smile!

Mac had spent the morning scouting out the perfect spot for their next excursion, a place with plenty of mystery and romantic appeal to suit her purposes, but also enough natural wonder to it, that no one could help but look around in awe. Mac couldn’t wait to get him there, and reminded herself to find a nice treat for Auto, since he helped her to find the treasure in the first place.

Once Mac deemed her appearance acceptable, she bound out of the Chandra common room, for once caring about being late to divination. Predictably, Torrence beat her to class, and had taken a seat by himself in the middle row, thumbing through a text about something called Java Script. Surveying the classroom, Mac noticed the usual groups had come together.. Ramsey Blackwood and his gag-worthy posse had begun to form, and while Mac might have been inclined to share a few good morning insults with Drachen to get the day started off just right, today she had other priorities. Sweeping past for once without a word, she hoped the inbred club would catch the hint.

On the other side of the room, was the group she normally would gravitate to, which included a sizable portion of the Fawkes quodpot team. The fact they also happened to be some of her closest friends (rather than her teammates on team Chandra) was a testament to how often people thought she’d been sorted into the wrong house. On a typical day, Mac would join the them, saddling up to Dom, flirting with Tim, or boasting light heartedly about quodpot with Chase. That section had already become a bit crowded however, and as her eyes lingered on the back of the room, she knew exactly where she’d be sitting.

Enchanting a piece of parchment into the shape of a bird, Mac sent a quick note flying gracefully toward Dom, which landed neatly by his hand. I’m on the hunt. Meet up for lunch? Dom would understand, and Mac always filled him in later. With that taken care of, Mac sauntered toward the back of the classroom, taking up the empty seat to Koda’s right.

“Clear your schedule for the evening, we’re going out tonight!” Mac let out in a hushed conspiratorial whisper, her lips brushing closer to Koda’s ear than was strictly necessary.

As Vincent sat down in the same table with Timothy, Evelyn also sat down with them, across the table with a visible unpleasant expression. It was only then did he remember that she doesn't really get along with the guy. Facepalming himself, he exhaled a sigh. He should have known by now that even though he got along well with many people, it doesn't mean that they particularly got along with each other either. Hoping that they wouldn't feel too uncomfortable... He sheepishly thought as he cast his gaze around the classroom to see if there's anything interesting.

His stream of thought was cut off when Timothy greeted him and reached out his hand to play with his hat, making it a little bit crooked, stating that he now looked ready to grill some Laveau jerks. Giggling and fixed his hat back to its' original position, Vincent replied, "You might be right, but I'd prefer if I burn them down without even moving an inch of my hat. And you're wearing Men's Hugo, right? Fabulous choice, let me tell ya ~" Timothy is also another precious friend of his and despite being a little eccentric, the guy is reliable. It really is a pain at first to get him to talk, since he was so hard to get, but all efforts paid off, after all.

When Chase spoke up and remarked as of how much he needed an alarm clock more than Vincent needed to study, he chuckled, "Well, I need to do it anyway, whether I like it or not. Prof. Erin will turn me into some sort of public art or something if I didn't hand my report in tonight." Vincent shrugged and laughed, "I just didn't want to kick you out of your beauty sleep so early. Be grateful." He mischievously winked to his roomy. It's always fun having some chit-chat with Chase like this and never would he missed a chance to do so.

Moments later, Dominic entered the scene and Vincent almost felt like his heart was popping the moment he saw the elder Hahn sibling entered the scene. Unlike Chase who outwardly flirted with the guy, he just turned his face away to hide his blushing face. He knows that he's pretty much looking like a teenage girl being lovesick or something, but taking into account of how they are now, he could never mustered up the courage to speak up what he thinks when it comes to Dominic, instead just watching him from afar. But he shouldn't lose his cool, so he tried to smile brightly, "Annyeong, Dom. Have a nice sleep yesterday?" He totally didn't expect that he would spurt that out in Korean, but ol' habits don't die easily.

Luckily, Ophelia also stepped into the classroom almost right away. Turning his attention to her, Vincent tried to distract himself from the fantasies that are whirling around in his mind. Waving to her with yet another bright smile, he greeted, "Mornin' Fee. Sleep well yesterday, sweetheart?" He chuckled as he saw Timothy put his face away, almost as if he's trying to hide from her. It was quite adorable, if he had to say. Ophelia is an endearing girl, and it's not a surprise to see she being loved by many, even Vincent himself, in a brotherly way. She had always looked out for him since they were just kids, so it's natural that he did the same for her as well. If only she didn't have to live in such a dreadful family, but that's not too much of a problem now since he knows Dominic is by her side.

Taking a moment to take a look around, Vincent couldn't help acknowledging how lively the classroom is now since most of the students have arrived. Most of his acquaintances are sitting in the same corner with him. Leiyona is lying faced down on the table, as usual, since Divination and her apparently don't get along with each other, but that's understandable for someone as fierce as her. The geeky boy Collin was smiling to her and Timothy, which Vincent raised his eyebrow at, since it wasn't something you would see everyday. And then it comes to McKenna, who is conversing with her friends. He chuckled slightly as he remembered the last Thursday when they leave a goo bomb disguised in the shape of a love letter in the closet of a Laveau blood supremacist. The look on the jerk's face afterward is totally golden and before the professors could catch their tails, they were long gone. It's never seized to be fun whenever he could sit down and got something cooking with her.

"Have any plan after classes today, Eve?" He smiled and asked Evelyn. He doesn't have a particular plan of what he's going to do afterschool either. Perhaps he should be starting to find some attires for the upcoming ball now. Speaking of the ball, he secretly wondered if anyone would ask him out, or if he had to ask someone out by himself. It's also been a while since the last time he actually do some dancing around, so he got to brush up some practice, too.

When Prof. Kang asked the whole class whether they have had a good weekends, Vincent smiled and nodded to her. Divination definitely wasn't his favorite class, but as with most of the professors in Remington, he holds a huge respect for her. Then, he turned his attention back to the crystal ball sitting in the center of the round table. He knows for sure that he shouldn't trust most of the thing it tells him. Vincent once foresaw that he would be making out with one of the boys he knows, but none of them made him to do that so far. Taking the books and his quill out from his bag, he sat impatiently, waiting for the class to begin.

I’m on the hunt. Meet up for lunch? Dom read the note with an amused scoff, glancing to his friend as his lips curved into a smirk.

"Looking good as always Dom. I do enjoy seeing you in a tie... The things I could do with that tie." Dominic's expression of response was a cold deadpan. Honestly, Dom was used to Chase's flirtations by now. It was a part of Chase's personality, and the game of smirks was something he seemed to constantly be playing. There were occasions when he had to remind himself that it was just that, a little fun, as Blue had a knack for faux sincerity. It was charming, really. And frustrating.

"Annyeong, Dom. Have a nice sleep yesterday?" Dom smiled at Vincent, offering a firm nod of affirmation, and a warm mhm. Actually, no. He'd had a rather nasty nightmare last night. His boggart had seemingly escaped into his dreams. But he wasn't about to mention it.

Fee's arrival quickly took Vincent's attention, and he offered her a casual wave as he leaned back in his chair.

"Mornin' Fee. Sleep well yesterday, sweetheart?" Fee glanced to the other members of the group, noticing Timothy avoiding meeting her eyes. For but a millisecond, her smile faltered, but then she was back to brightness, and she replied cheerily to Vincent's query. "Yes, thanks. You?"

She didn't get to hear his reply though, because Vedika clapped her hands firmly together, notifying them all that class was officially in session. Having overheard Vladik's angry comment, her lips had only curved into a smirk, not surprised by the boy's distaste. Divination was different from most classes. Most classes, even someone with no skill could study, could practice, and, usually, could get better. But divination? Divination required a natural talent, it required sight. It was a pretentious-sounding thing to say aloud, but it was true enough. If one couldn't see, one seldom ever would.

"Alright. I marked your cartomancy externals over the weekend and the results were... varied." As she spoke, a stack of papers rose into the air, and began floating down the row between the desks, each graded test landing gracefully in front of its respective owner. She smiled, "f you remember, I also promised that I would reward the five five students with the highest scores. Helena Eld. Nikolai Romain. Ophelia Hahn. Orchid Grimsbane. Moira Blackwood. Ten house points each."

She sighed, and the curtains flicked open, letting in the sunlight and brightening up the room. On each desk, a steaming teapot and three tea cups appeared. "Now, with that out the way, get into groups of three." As the class began to move into groups, she spoke over the chatter. "You're acting ridiculous." Helena rolled her eyes as Drachen was noticeably fuming. "She did that on purpose. She's acting like-" Helena was quick to cut him off. "And you're acting like spoiled little brat who didn't get their happy meal toy." She looked back behind them to where Kieran was sitting then back at Drachen. His entire mannerism over the ordeal was fairly amusing and she made a mental note to reward Kieran for it later. Of course, Helena needed to add another smart ass comment towards her brother since she was the only one who could get away with knocking him down a few pegs.

Helena pursed her lips for a moment noticing Drachen squirm out of the corner of her eye. She hadn't said anything to him but all it took was change of expression for him to shiver in his suit. If their was anyone who terrified Drachen, it would most definitely be his sister Helena. He never wanted to be on the receiving end of her wrath or cause her any means of wrong doing. He could never bring himself to do anything of the sort. Drachen instead did what he knew she wanted and silenced himself by staring forward despite being so bothered by Kieran's obvious attempt of defiance. He'd deal with her later when Helena wasn't around.

Something in Drachen shifted as he sat up straighter than before with devious little smirk him and his other half, Ramsey, seemed to be known for. That look never meant anything good from him. "What are you planning?" Helena inquired him. Drachen responded at first with a shrug but not before leaning over and whispering into her ear. "You'll have to look into one of your crystal balls to find out." Helena rolled her eyes again as Drachen sat up straight once more still smirking.

Helena had shrugged it off and was going to continue bombarding Ramsey with flirtations for the sake of annoying her brother just as the professor clapped her hands to gain the class's full attention. "Alright. I marked your cartomancy externals over the weekend and the results were... varied." Helena also followed her brother in sitting straighter than before though she straighten her back for very different reasons as she crossed her legs. The test grades flew through the air to their respective desks as Professor Kang continued. "If you remember, I also promised that I would reward the five five students with the highest scores. Helena Eld. Nikolai Roman. Ophelia Hahn. Orchid Grimsbane. Moira Blackwood. Ten house points each."

Drachen was definitely not pleased over how poor his grade looked compared to Helena though something else seemed to bother him as he glared at the door and muttered a comment. "Oh look, the Gypsy Trash is here." Helena followed his eyes to the doorway where Nikolai Roman was standing with a bright red apple in hand and very obviously not following the dress code policy very well. He had on a casual buttoned t shirt with every button possible undone underneath his white vest paired off with a wooden cross that seemed a bit ironic on him. His pants were as white as snow and seemed oddly placed with his black dress shoes. Of course, that was never enough for Nikolai's 'look'. He had his eyes painted in eyeliner and his nails matching the black of his shoes. It was toned down compared to his usual attire but it still wasn't a surprise on him.

Nikolai's paper came floating through the air and into his hand since he hadn't chosen a desk yet. He'd heard the end of Kang's announcement and gave a mischievous little grin as he walked late into the room. "Oh, Kang... This is one of the reasons why you're my favorite." He put the apple on her desk and gave her a wink that wasn't subtle in any sort of way before taking his time in choosing a seat. He favored sitting in the front but the thought of leaving his favorite victim all alone in the back caused Nikolai to make his way back towards her and take a seat right next to her. Though he did move his chair a little closer than was necessary.

Kang had announced for them to get into groups of three and Nikolai grinned down at Leiyona even though she wasn't much shorter than him. "Looks like you're stuck with me if you want to pass, sweetheart." He winked at her and put his arm around her chair not caring that they needed a third. This assignment was going to be easy for him and probably the only time people wanted to be paired up with the Muggle Born Gypsy.

Drachen had turned to Ramsey right away after the announcement. "You, me, and Helena." Helena snorted a laugh. "As if... Find your own victim." She quickly left the two and snuck up behind Kieran to wrap her arms around her. She knew it'd make her uncomfortable which was the whole reason she did it. "So how badly do you want a high mark, love?" She giggled into the girls ear. "One of your cute little friends could join our little three way group too." Her words were placed purposely for the sake of getting a reaction from the others seated at the table. This was going to be a fun lesson depending on who joined them.

This was just a very ordinary monday morning with divination class for Leiyona. Lying face down almost melted from the chair on to the desk, her two braids spreading out from each side, making her look like pippi longstocking. Well maybe a mix of pippi and sleeping beauty- considering what Yona where doing. Outside her window, the branches where dancing softly in the fresh autumn breeze and a lonely blackbird was seated on the windowsill on the other side off the antique stained glass. Ofc, Leiyona did not take notice, she was quite occupied with squeezing her cheek against the top of the round table and groaning every now and then - thinking about how she was "snoozing" on borrowed time.

Since Leiyona hade been unwary of who had entered the classroom during the last 15 minutes, she had missed out on Collins arrival and his cheerful smile. But now; as she glanced through her thick eyelashes with a blurry vision, taking a sneak to her side, she could see the familiar silhouette- who at the moment where exercising tricks with little Vinny.

Suddenly, her mind where wide awake again and her muscles on the alert. She sat up from her chair and rushed over to her fellow Orenda. It was really like pressing this on/off switch. And when Yona was on the go, she really was this living whirlwind. Now standing in front of his table, both hands leaning on the desktop as she bowed down her head and panted a few breaths.

"You should have woken me up. I was worried you know!" her face was demanding, but at the same time it showed how much she cared: deep wrinkles on her forehead and two shiny big eyes staring at her friend Collin. She leaned in a bit closer, giving Vinny a fast soft stroke on his back.
"Your dad.. have you heard anything?" soft like honey, whispering. Words just brushing over her lips and barely creating any sound. Leiyona was worried after all. She knew it was a delicate matter, and not something for all students to hear. So she raised her eyebrow, giving him a "meaning" look while slowly regaining her breath and waiting for his answer.

In the corner of her eye, she could register a turquoise skirt and brown long curls, meaning professor Kang had most certainly entered the room. She turned her head to confirm her suspicion. "Gotta go Col. Kang is here. We'll catch up later, key?" she managed to utter before walking back to her seat at the window. On her way there, she could swear she saw a flash of surprise on Kang's graceful face as they walked passed each other. Most likely when Kang noticed that Leiyona was not sleeping - but up and walking!

Leiyona did not have anything against Kang, at all. She actually found the gracious and mature seer very cool (especially when standing up against Vlad)- main reason being how she was so prideful about her subject, divination, and getting all cold when students doubted or insulted the content of the class. The teacher herself, however, did not seem very fond of Yona though, and those firm claps where often a way to wake her up. Leiyona would often excuse herself with "you know how the visions comes to me in my dreams" and Kang just looking at her with this sharp look - being able to tell lies from the truth..

Back at her table, she corrected her braids who'd gotten all messy after the nap, and started to arrange her books to the suggested pages. She yawned when the parchment paper of the graded test landed on the desk in front of her, then scratched her neck a bit lingering. Leiyona may be useless at predicting the future - but she just knew her grade would be a total disaster. And turning over the paper was just confirming her fears. Despite studying like crazy, she did not possess the ability. The end- regardless how hard she tried. And getting high grades on every other subject would not be enough. If she was going to have any chance at follow in her mothers footsteps, and becoming a healer, she would have to get good overall grades on her O.W.L s (divination included...)

She moaned as she dejectedly collapsed at the desk with a thud. Lying face down, a second time, her hearing was her primary sense. "Oh, Kang... This is one of the reasons why you're my favorite." A familiar voice found its way to her ears, giving her a shiver. Leiyona could recognize that stuck up, confident voice anywhere. Nikolai...

She closed her fists, arms lying in front of her at the desk, and every muscle in her body tensed up. Almost holding her breath, still facing down, waiting for him to choose a seat. Footsteps sounding closer and closer.. She let her fingernails dig deep in to her palms, trying to calm down her racing heartbeat with the feeling of feeble pain. Could this day get any worse? First the grades and now she had to deal with HIM. She exhaled, loudly, as he sat down next to her, and slowly got up from her lying position.
"Looks like you're stuck with me if you want to pass, sweetheart." Now sitting upright, Leiyona rubbed her right cheek with the back of her hand- trying to get rid of the red mark her powernap had caused.

"Wow, lucky me.. i feel so.. honored" her words where dry and ironic (especially having in mind that Nikolai flirted with pretty much everything that moved). Normally she would have snapped back at him as her countermove. But not today, she was just not her usual feisty self right now. Her grey eyes where hazy with defeat and she was quite.. numbed.. after realizing her career choice might be falling out of reach.. Maybe it was a good thing pairing up with Nik this time? Just maybe. He was quite talented at divination.. Slowly she came back from her sedated state, now noticing how he was sitting a little bit too close, and with his arm around the back of her chair. Put together, it made her feel fenceless- so she lifted her right foot under the table, placed in on top of his left toe and pressed down.

"I guess i can bear with you, this once" weak words with a soft sight. She started to pour up tea in all 3 teacups, never knowing who might join them. One elbow on the desktop and her chin resting in her palm. Leiyona reached for her teacup with her other hand and brought it towards her lips. They had to drink it before being able to read the future.
"Sláinte"
she said in her gaelic scottish, giving Nikolai a forced smile before taking a sip.

_____Orchid bolted up out of bed at the crack of dawn as Orchid always does; with a hail of blankets and curses. Once you've lived your whole life with it you start not to mind it so much, but the headaches never get any better. She only assumes it's normal, after all extensive use of magic can drain even the most astute wizards and witches, Orchid is no different. Every day as far back as she can remember she wakes with a pain in her frontal lobe. No doubt because of how many metamorphases she'll go through in one day, even the involuntary ones. Then there's class and practicing and all manner of shenanigans that certainly add to the riff raff going on in her little skull. It would be maddening if she wasn't already a bit mad herself.
She sit in bed for a while and rubbed her temples, the sharp pain slowly dulling into a livable ache. After breakfast and a nice hot bath it usually went away until the next morning. With this thought in mind she removed her fluffy blankets with a sigh and moved to the communal bathroom to do normal everyday bathroom things like washing hair, applying makeup, etc. etc. Most would assume Orchid would simply change her face to look as if she had already applied her makeup instead of preforming the teadious action herself. Orchid would be the first to say absolutely not. The mere idea of holding a face all day long is not only tiresome to even fathom but nearly a larger waste of time than doing it herself. Besides, painting the face was fun and Orchid was good at it. She did always take extra time to make sure her hair dark purple locks were curled just right and her clothes were ironed. She even made sure to spritz her favorite perfume, a warm sandalwood scent. She giggled as she drew up her gray stocking over her knee and up her leg. Oh yes, the picture of perfection indeed. The irony was never lost on her and never ceased to amuse her.
Headache, and now toiletries, out of the way, Orchid sat for a moment on her bed and at 2 or 3 granola bars, not feeling especially up to walking clear across campus for normal breakfast when her first class was half the distance. She was anything if not resourceful. They were bland as can be but she wolfed them down quickly and moved to grab her backpack and sweetie bag. As much as she would like to completely replace every facet of her diet with an absolutely comical amount of sugar, a witch needs her nutrients. Not to mention the all manner of ghosts and ghastlies her mother would send to torment her had she gotten wind Orchid wasn't eating her apple a day.
Headache, then toiletries, and not food over and done with, she walked over to Fernando's cage and smiled sweetly at the sleepy little carnivore before softly rasping on it.
"Bon dia Fernando. És el moment de començar el dia , una preciosa."Good morning Fernando. It is time to start the day, Precious One.
He gave the sleepiest little yawn and stretched out his crystal-white wings before blinking tiny, bleary red orbs at her and squeaking softly. She cooed happily and opened his cage slowly and carefully used her finger to wedge under his little toes so he latched onto her rather than his perch. She finally drew him out and held him up so that his upside down face was level with hers. After the gentlest of Eskimo kisses she moved him toward her shoulder. He got the hint after some nudging and, with obvious batty grumpiness, fluttered about for a bit before perching on her shoulder and hiding his face in his wings.
"Res d'això es bat travessa . Vam dir anem a comportar-se més o menys m'ajudi T'estic canviar de nou al carrer rates."None of that you naughty bat. Today we're going to behave or so help me I'm switching you back to street rats.
He gave a small squeak in submission before softly burrowing in her hair and nuzzling her head. She made a kiss noise and placed her backpack on her shoulders before finally setting off to class. It would have probably gotten underway right now, but if she knew Kang, she wouldn't be any good until her second to third cup of tea. She, of course, listened to music on the way and decided to forego mentos for a sucker today since it was morning and she'd already brushed her teeth. This one was strawberry of course since it was her favorite flavor, and she had a good bounce to her step as she made it to class just in time to see Kang handing out papers. At least she didn't miss anything important. Though, when she heard her name in group with the best grades she couldn't resist a small jig before fully entering the class. She knew she was good at Divination and didn't need the validation, but that doesn't mean she's not one to like her ego being stroked every once in a blood moon. She couldn't stay receded in the darkness for much longer though as the blinds were pulled apart with a strong amount of light filling the room. Naturally, Fernando, hissed and screeched before spearing up into the rafters to brood.
"I hope it's nice and dark up there, Nosferatu,"she said under her breath as she rolled her eyes. Cat was out of the bag any way, so she sauntered down the aisle waving at the other students in the class. "Hello everyone!"
Normally this would seem odd, but for almost everyone in the school Orchid could boast, if not neutral, a friendly relationship with and this was the quickest way to make everyone feel included. She was a politician, she was a friend, a judge, or even a confidante. She was what she wanted to be, and she didn't see a point in being nasty to anyone...yet.
She saddled up behind Helena and looked into the air at nothing in particular. The sugary treat made a pop as she pulled it from her now red-stained lips. While she was closest to Helena, she spoke at a volume that at least those surrounding could here. She did give Helena a look before exclaiming dramatically with her hand gracefully befallen her forehead,
"Oh my! Little Lonely me with no partnership to be found! What is a witch to do?"

Mind if I join you all?

Maximus blinked at the familiar yet unfamiliar voice, sharply pulling his eyes away from his freshly inked cursive notes of the date and Tasseography Review, his open Divination text-book, and the partially full of tea cup he’d already started sipping on – while the rest of the set remained untouched as of yet by Toric beside him, who last he’d caught out of the corner of his eye had been off-looking to snag a third-partner for the lesson he’d assumed.

Dark eyes met blue, pleasantly polite and hiding well the surprise that Chase had left the group that contained so many of his friends to come over and ask to join the drastically quieter pair of young men – and yet it was infinitely a far safer than some of the other options left available for the Mundane-born, and Max was not of the mindset of inflicting that cruelty on anyone if he could. And Chase was one of the few, far more friendly acquaintances Maximus had than the majority of those of the Mundane birth within the castle walls – regardless, they got along just fine.

Not at all, Max mused lightly, his eyes flicking to Toric briefly to know his thoughts on the matter at hand – only to find the other somewhat grumpy suddenly for whatever reason after Orchid’s loud announcement / arrival and sullenly started flicking through and absorbed into his divination textbook. He returned with an even look to Chase, his shoulders shifting to convey a mixture of apologetic shrug and sit on down gesture all in one towards the other; before flicking his hand towards the set in an idle gesture of will, the tea kettle rattled a moment before steadily rising to fill the last two cups and then settled back down with a gentle clink, the two filled cups gently scooted towards either side of Max, for Torric and Chase respectfully.

Loneliness is a hard thing to handle. Jupiter felt it far too often at times, and when she did – how she wished for it to all end, but knew that there would not be such an end that was worth still living for. Sometimes it was bearable to be near someone, to touch them on some level that was deeper than the uselessly structured formality of casual civilized interaction, there was a sense of satisfaction in it. Or at least, there was for her. It didn’t even have to be someone particularly nice. She did not have to like them, she did not even have to want to work with them, and hell she might even want to punch them in the nose. But, sometimes just making that connection was its own experience, its own reward… The head-nurse of Remington’s that morning, however, could be an exception as far as Jupe had been concerned!

More than late enough to class from an impromptu check-up to make sure she was healthy enough to return to classes again from the last Moon three days before causing an unfortunate handful of new marks stretched across the skin of both her fore-arms, that had been stitched together with the old needle and thread method because there was only so much magical healing a body could take at any one time. Tired as a puppy, even though the mound of make-up she wore made a good attempt to limit others’ abilities in noticing such, or so she liked to believe; and twice as hungry, having been unable to snag a very much needed breakfast to put the pounds she’d lost back on again.

Jupiter made a reserved entrance into the bustling divination classroom, taking a rough guesstimate of what they were to be working on today (it wasn’t like she had a lick of the sight, to actually be certain) and knowing the apparent need to get into a group of three. With a lazy flick of her wand to send the neatly folded paperwork of her ‘Release’ from the nurse and a pair of make-up essay’s towards Professor Kane’s desk, before making her way to a still open group of two Orenda students she’d spotted towards the back of the classroom - one in particular a Divination wiz!

Morning, Jupe chirped towards Nikolai and Leiyona, attempting to haul forward a genuine smile and squash the flickers of a unnecessary pained grimace that truly wanted to come for. May I?"

Leiyona finished her cup in no time - she'd always been a fast drinker. After taking the last sip - she passed the cup to Nikolai.

"So what horrors does my future await. Please tell me king of Divination..." Yona said and sighted in boredom, but then she heard a voice. When turning around, she noticed how Jupiter had walked up to join the two of them. "Morning" followed by "May i?". Yona nodded and smiled like an idiot, maybe a bit too enthusiastic. How lovely, they had gotten a 3rd member of the group! She did a hand gesture towards the empty chair and her face was shining like the sun.

"Of course!" she said as she moved the 3rd teacup to Jupiter. A part of her knew that Jupiters reason for joining them probably was the king of divination himself sitting there, but Yona did not mind- she was happy as could be not being alone with him! Now Nikolai would not be able to pester her as much at least...

She leaned back in her chair and raised one eyebrow when looking at Jupi, remembering how it had been fullmoon only 3 days ago. Her sharp expression was asking herself if this 3rd member of the group was in the state of "friend or foe" but she softened when Jupiter sat down. Maybe her "nurse" instinct kicked in and she leaned closer to try and see how bad the damage was this time. But since Jupiter was wearing long sleeves, it was impossible to tell.

"How are you Jupiter? No need to pretend" she said with a soft tone and her worried wrinkles in her forehead had once again appeared. Waiting for Jupis answer, she also waited for them to finish their tea. Leiyona had passed her cup to Nikolai and he was supposed to pass his to Jupiter and Jupi hers to Yona.

Timothy just kept smiling, with a silent "i bet you will" as response for Vince's answer. He knew his friend was well capable off taking down the levau assholes without damaging or moving his hat as much as an inch. Timothy on the other hand was the opposite- he would normally just let them beat him up beyond recognition -except for that stubborn grin ofc, which never seemed to go away.. Listening to the second half of Vince's "good morning chit chat" made Timothy tilt his head to the side. He'd always been very transparent in his facial expressions. Right now the slightly open mouth and lingering (thinking hard) dark eyes told the spectators that Tim had no clue what Vince whas talking about.

"Who's Hugo?" Then finally a flash of his perfume bottle was seen while searching his past memories. Timothy grabbed the sleeve of his grey knitted cardigan and sniffed it a few times - like the fragrance would trigger anything. "Ooh right.. thank you.. i guess" a voice that sounded a bit distant as Tim continued his trip down memory lane.

The perfume had actually been a gift from his parents, in one of their many attempts to buy his forgiveness and get rid of the guilt they feel for "abandoning" their son. Normally, Tim never used his parents gifts - most of the time being fancy clothes, expensive watches and so on. But when it came to perfumes, his mother did have a better taste than himself (he was completely lost when it came to that kind of stuff, probably just ending up buying the closest bottle and then smelling like an old Troll)...

When returning to reality Tim noticed how the class was about to start. The graded test was lying in front of him on the desk, and there was also a teapot and some cups. Apparently tasseography was on the schedule. When turning over, Tim confirmed what he already knew. He'd passed with flying colors in some mysterious way - like always. Even tho he wasn't one of the top students - he seemed to have the "gift" of divination. Quite unexpected for a big goofy dude, but then - he did have his head in the clouds most of the time.

The groups started to form and Tim sat in silence and anticipation - watching how Chase left their group and joined Torrence and Max. Tim hated this kind of tasks - forming groups by own choice. Something that often ment he was left out alone because no one wanted to team up with the wierdo. When Dom left for Kieran and Helena - Tim looked down with an apathic expression. Vince, Flowergirl and Ophelia was surely going to group and Tim would be the leftovers. That was what he thought, until her voice sounded.

"I guess that leaves us." Tim watched with big eyes as she took a 4th cup from an empty table and brought it to theirs. "We can just be a four, right?". His shoulders sank probably an inch in relief, but then he felt as how his heart skipped a beat. He was in the same group as Fee and Flowergirl! Ophelia who made him shy and Flowergirl who seemed to avoid him. But then.. She had given him a smile this morning! Maybe Flowergirl was generous today... Even so - thank god Vince was there to protect him from the scary girls.

"Ooh, hot. Hothothothothot..." Tim was fast to look up when hearing the words, and watched as Ophelia winced in pain over the hot teapot. His mouth tensed up in a narrow line and he looked quite annoyed rather than worried. Thinking he should have done it instead of her... it was not like he felt any pain, but even if he did - he would not hesitate to take it upon himself instead of Ophelia. Thankfully Evelyn seemed to tend for her hand at least... "Next time... Just let me do the hot teacup thing" he mumbled quiet. Not that he was angry or anything (even tho he might have sounded like it)..
