When she got there it seemed that a lot of people were there already. There was a seat by the farthest wall and she sat down there. She listened as her teacher told them why the were put into this club. She wasn't expecting to become the student assistant, at all. "Okay." She smiled back at the teacher. Ari didn't want to be assistant but she didn't want to be a hassle on the teacher by having her change it. Sighing a little she slid lower into her chair. She couldn't wait to talk to her demon about this. He is probably going to laugh about her being chosen to do the student assistant.

"Miku, where have you been?! I haven't seen you all morning," she whispered to the tiny demon who now peered at her with a mischievous grin.
"I've been following you," Miku had replied quietly, but not in a complete whisper, his little fangs poking out beneath his lips as he suddenly flailed out his arms, hugging Zayla around her neck. She laughed, hugging him back carefully before he dropped his arms and twisted around to face the front of the room, still sitting on her desk. "Now pay attention to class," Miku added with a grin. Zay just shook her head, gazing at the teacher briefly before the other people in class. She then reached down and opened her backpack, rummaging around for her sketchpad.

"Finn, wake me up if someone tries to talk to me..." She whispered before closing her eyes.
Finn chuckled, or seemed to chuckle. "Krys?"
She sighed. "What Finn?"
"Don't fall asleep you idiot."
Krystal sighed again. With no sleep last night and not being allowed to get any sleep today by Finn, she was going to find it hard to concentrate.

"Hey, Dawn, are you going to be alright," he asked her. Dawn bared her teeth as she looked up at Stephen, and said, "Of course I'm alright, you dense idiot. I just hate the fact that this damn class has gotten so big." Stephen laughed as he shook his head. He reached down and scratched her behind her ears, saying, "You'll be fine, Dawn. You just need to get used to it."

His charcol eyes scanned the room, noting that almost all of the seats were filled, except for a few of the seats in the back.
Securing his backpack over his shoulder even more, he silently found a seat next to a giant window in the back of the room.
He placed his bag down on the open chair next to him, making it so someone else would get the impression that the seat was already taken, or that he just didn't want to be bothered with people.
The last thing he wanted was to make a friend, or rather, someone who thought they were friends.
Not after what had happened at his old school...
He shook his head, as if trying to clear the thought from his mind. His shaggy black hair settled in front of his eyes, and he tried nonchalantly blowing them out of his face.
He sighed when the returned to their initial position.
He rummaged around in his bag for his notebook while the teacher explained why they had been put into this class.
Instead of finding the desired object, his hand wrapped around something squishy. It 'eeped' in surprise, causing people in front of him to turn around.
"Sorry..." He mumbled, lowering his head to peer inside.
He saw the lights above him reflect off of a pair of specs and sighed again.
He got the feeling he's be doing a lot more sighing than usual.
"Sorry, Chi. Did I wake you up, love? Go back to sleep."
He reached around the chubby demon to grab his notebook, as Chi gave a mewl in response.
He pushed the bag onto the desk, to ensure that it didn't fall, as it would have on the chair.
The teacher, Mr. Bekenfield or some nonsense, cheerfully announced the student assistant, and Adrial sunk down into his chair, and stared out the window.
Something told him it was going to be a loooong day.

Mr. Bekenfield looked around the class once more. "This is Leper," he gestured at his demon. "She is a full grown demon, and if you have any questions or if your demon's have any questions, you can ask her." He watched as Leper, who sitting down was still 4' 9", walked around the classroom. "Yes, and I wouldlove if you would all ask you demon's to behave. For I have little tolerance for misbehavior, and I will deal with punishments if nessecary." Mr. Bekenfield almost rolled his eyes at Leper, but knew better than to do that in front of a class. "Alright, notice how the desks are connected so two people share one desk?" With a wave of his hand, he made the desks magically connect. I will call out the names of you and your partner, and you two will find a connected seat to sit together at, that would be wonderful. " He was about to start when Leper interuppted. "And please, your demon's must follow me into the next room. Sometime's their classes will be separate than yours, everyone has a demon, so tell them to follow me." She sat near a door and waited for all the demons tocome to her.
"Alright, here we go. Ari Harper, you come tak this desk next to me. Krystal Thorne and Asali Beut. Zayla D'Alton and Adril Haze. Stephen Wilder and Avery Blackwell. Kortni Shane and Justice Drake." After a while of calling names and picking seats, everyone had their partners and Mr. Beken field announced, "Now, we may begin. First, rules."

Her demon, Sui, coughed moments later, but it was quieter, and deeper than hers.
He flittered around her small shoulders, and she rolled her eyes at him.
"Sui, don't copy me."
Her eyes soften and a pout came to her lips when the teacher said that the demons had to leave.
She poked Sui's nose and said in a higher-pitched voice, "I wuv you bubby-cakes."
Her demon blushed in reponse, and flew to the door, where the other demons gathered.
She looked at her new seat-buddy, and smiled.
"Ayy baby-cakes!" She said, quite loudly. She inwardly scolded herself, making a note to be much quieter.
She sat down, and grinned at him. "I'm Avery!"

She asked as she sat her stuff next to her legs. Hopefully he wouldn't say anything too taxing. The last thing she wanted was to be assigned a position that was hard to keep up with, and she didn't even sign up for it. Sighing a little she waited for a response before looking at her demon one more time and sending him a wink. She was never the one to show Draven much love, but she really did care for his well being deep down.

… Wait! Where did that last one come from,” Mr. Bekenfield blushed slightly, but laughed. “Don’t worry girls, I only flirt occasionally. I mean, with my good looks, there isn’t need to flirt.” He laughed and looked around once more. “It looks like everyone is … somewhat acquainted. Right now, everyone is the same rank, so the only one’s you take order’s from is me. On Monday, we will have our first trip, to Montana, to see the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail. Some of you may have been there before, but this time, we are taking a trail off that and we will study Centaurs. Don’t worry, they are friendly. Leper and your demons will be staying here. Leper is going to teach them protection spells. In the mean time, we will be learning about Oracle’s and why you shouldn’t talk to them.”
Leper took a head count before starting her lesson. “Alright. So all you must know is that you are demon’s. You don’t know your history, or at least you shouldn’t. This is what we will learn about. Demon History. Alright.” Leper cleared her throat before beginning the lesson. “From the Greek 'daimon', or spirit, demons are powerful supernatural beings existing between god(s) and humans. Traditionally benevolent, daimon began to take on sinister themes within the writings of Plato. When the Old Testament was translated from Hebrew to Greek, the word mal'ak was used to describe foreign or evil supernatural beings. In the New Testament writings, most of which were written in Greek originally, the word daimon became associated with Satan and his minions and thusly took on a distinctly evil meaning. Not all demons are bad, but most are assumed to be bad, because the name we’ve been given. That is why you have a human partner, very rare are demon’s chosen to walk by a humans side and fight for them. You should be honored to have this position, and not do anything to lose it.”

It had only been a few minutes since he scooped the chubby winged demon from his bag, and told her to go up front.
At first, she rolled around on the floor, until she was awake enough to flutter to where the other demons gathered.
A small frown came to his face when the teacher explained they would be going to Monata, without their demon.
He couldn't remember the last time he went away without her.
And protection spells?
Adrial didn't think poor Chi could handle it.

She looked over to her new partner curiously. His whole look gave away his mischevious nature. She, of course, couldn't be certain, but she'd always had a talent for reading people. His attitude reaked of rebellion. Kortni was certain that even if the boy had never done anything wrong that he'd been accused of such many many times before. Had she looked that way she would've gone insane. She flashed back to the moment she'd been caught stealing from a mini-mart. The clerk had looked at her with a confused expression. No doubt wondering how such a pretty little girl had stolen from them, or at least tried to. Thinking of how blending into crowds helped her survive Kortni wondered if her new partner was crazy. Or rich. They weren't very different in her mind. She resolved that she would figure out, but first things first, "Hi, i'm Kortni."
Swift listened to the demon Leper talk about their history and how they were special for getting to walk beside humans. About how it's an honor and that they should do anything not to lose it. He knew that she was only doing her job, talking about what she had to, and it was cool for him to hear about their history but he did not need to be told to do anything for Kortni, he had done that since the moment he'd met her and he would continue to do that until one of them died. It wasn't new and certainly wasn't negotiable. They were headed for an interesting year.

'I dont know what the hell he's saying...I should stop being so dumb and take German or Spanglish or whatever the hell he's speaking in...didn't he say it was Latin? Avery, you need to pay attention.'
Avery nodded, slowly and several times.
"Right well...I don't know what you said before, and spells are cool and all that nonsense...but...this is America...therefore I speak English..."
Avery hoped she wasn't sounding too mean. She was never, ever mean to people she didn't know.
But this Steven guy was going to get on her nerves, that was for sure.
She could tell by the way he spoke and carried himself that he was arrogant and most likely, a prick.
She turned back towards the front, to the teacher with wide eyes.
Quietly, she spoke, hand raised.
"Mr. Bekenfield may I please have a new partner? Mine gives me the willies."

She couldn't help but laugh a little bit at her. She much rather switch places with her just so she didn't have to be next to her teacher. Ari kept listening to her teacher before her mind started to drift off a little. Every now and then she had to pinch herself to stay on topic. Ari looked at her teacher and the blush he had on his face. Yeah it was weird to have a teacher flirting with his students, but this class wasn't exactly normal either.

"Please don't make me leave you!" Miku had whimpered, giving a pout when Zay finally got him to release her. "You will be fine," she murmured, having nudged her demon towards the others gently. He had his arms crossed as he walked over, following them into the other room. He was angry. She then gazed over at her partner, giving a curt nod. "I'm Zayla, nice to meet you." she said casually, glancing down at her sketch pad. Flipping the cover open, she began working on the sketch of a large, full moon with clouds hovering close by that she started the night before. She wasn't really paying attention to the teacher, except the last rule caught her attention. She had to press her lips into a straight line to keep from laughing aloud as she looked up at him. 'I truthfully thought he was gay,' she thought sheepishly, looking him over once then looking back down. No chance of her flirting with that guy; She felt bad for his assistant.
Zayla let her hand glide across the page, biting her lower lip gently in concentration. She was good at drawing and taking pictures, but didn't have much self-esteem in any aspects, including looks. Even though she was sketching, she was hearing everything Mr. Bekenfield said.
Miku listened to Leper talk, a sour expression written across his face. He wanted to be with Zayla! She was his! However, as the other demon spoke he became interested, leaning forward some. He had never heard the history before. Keeping his furry arms crossed he listened, angry expression vanishing. This might be. . Okay.

The scoff was directed to the girl a few feet infront of him, who's thin arm was stretched high in the air.
She asked for a new partner, excuse being that said parter gave her the, 'willies' whatever that was.
Adrial was sure it was another term for creeps.
He watched the girl silently for a moment, before turning to his new partner.
She had given him a nod and introduced herself, so he thought it would be polite to do the same, even though he didn't want to in the slightest, because he knew that introductions led to conversations which led to eventual attatchment.
And even if that attatchment was microscopic, it was still attatchment.
Adrial also nodded, before muttering a quiet, "Adrial."
His eyes wandered around the room.
'What an odd bunch to throw together.' He mused silently.
He looked over at Zayla, and studied the open sketch-book she had infront of her.
After observing her drawing, and debating whether to comment or not, he finally said, "That's really good."
He turned back around to the front, tapping his pencil on his paper repeatedly.

Zay barely looked up when "Adrial" commented on the sketch she was working on. "Thank you," she replied lightly, not saying anything less or more. She looked back down, eyes scanning the page. Her hand began to move once more. After a few minutes of sketching she closed the book, slipping it back into her backpack. With that a gentle sigh slipped past her lips. When did this class end? It seemed like it never would. .

Mr. Bekenfield looked at Avery seriously. "I'm sorry, Miss Blackwell. But who you were paired with, you are stuck with. Don't blame me, blame fate, because all I did was cut up paper and put at random together." Then he looked at Stephen. "And you, boy, this is no time to be causeing issues. Later on we will be learning Latin, but not now. So speak only english in this classroom, understand?" He swept the class with his eyes before clearing his throat. "You are stuck with your partners, so you may as well get to know each other and not fight," he said. With a wave of his hand, books appeared on all the kids desk's and opened to a page that said, "Doppelgänger." "Change of subject. Now anymore questions, or complaints before we get started?" He smiled, but started the lesson anyways. "A doppelgänger is the ghostly, in some cases, the physical, double of a living person. The word "doppelgänger" is a loanword from German, in which language it is written (as with any German noun) with an initial capital letter: Doppelgänger. The word derives from Doppel ("double") and Gänger ("goer"). In English, the word is conventionally uncapitalized ("doppelgänger"). It is also common to drop the German diacritic, umlaut, from the letter "ä," writing "doppelganger," although in German the correct spelling without the umlaut would actually be "Doppelgaenger." In the vernacular, "Doppelgänger" has come to refer to any double or look-alike of a person—most commonly an "evil twin"—or to bilocation. It is an exact replica of a specific human being. The word is also used to describe a phenomenon whereby one catches his own image out of the corner of his eye. In some traditions, seeing one's own doppelgänger is an omen of death, or a warning of an aproaching danger. A doppelgänger seen by a person's friends or relatives may sometimes bring bad luck, or indicate an approaching health problem.
Leper finished up the lesson. "The classical Greek daimon, Pan, was a nature spirit. The goat-like features of Pan have been adopted by Christian imagery in particular as those of demons. While Pan and other daimons gave their name to the Christian demons, their habits and nature as unpleasant beings of the underworld/death more resemble an amalgam of many other creatures from Mediterranean mythology, including the netherworld guards of Greece and Egypt. Hebrew and Christian culture considered all demons evil. In 1589, a leading expert named Brinsfield listed major demons and their specialties. These included: Lucifer, pride; Satan, anger; Beelzebub, gluttony; and Belphegor, sloth." As Leper finished the lesson off, she looked around the clas and asked, "Any questions? After this, you have time to talk, since we are faster learners than humaans, our lessons will be much shorter. But we musn't destirb them either. After about 30 minutes, we will move onto Ankou."

Dawn paid little attention to the lesson, she just sat in the back and sighed. "Why do we have to learn anything if we are just the demons," she asked, looking at the Leper. "I'm sure we would all rather be out there with our masters and be by their side."

She frowned slightly. "Yes, you do creep me out. But don't feel too bad, it doesn't take much. Now shh. I don't want to get in trouble!"
After the teacher finished speaking about his lesson, Avery's hand shot up again.
"Mr. Bekenfield," She began very seriously. "My mom said that I had an undiagnosed case of Schizophrenia. Does that count as a Doppel...thing?"
Judging by the looks she was getting, Avery realized that no, it probably didn't count.
She felt her face get hot as a blush traveled up her neck to her cheeks. She sunk down into her chair and began biting her nails.
Being in a class with a bunch of intelligent students made Avery realize how unintelligent she really was.

I think I will enjoy playing the little demon more than the girl. O__O I hope there isn't going to be a all out war over males. -eye twitch- In one role play I was in, three people were fighting over "who got who," xDD It was weird, but gave me a good laugh! :D
