Kaine, who was just inspecting an interesting little necklace with a talisman attached at the end, "Sorry, there's just so much I haven't seen!" Still holding the necklace, he turned to the two of them. "And there's no WAY I could let you do that, Mr. Sabara. Although, I appreciate the offer." Kaine smiled and gave a short bow of respect. Just then, Piper showed a grand display of clumsiness. Kaine chuckled a little and walked up to her.
"Wow, you're pretty clumsy, huh?" said Kain with a smile and a laugh, now picking up the pot from her head and placing it back on the shelf and helping Piper to her feet with ease. Before Piper could respond, however, they were interrupted by a dirty middle-aged man popping into the shop shouting, "Hey! Someone just made off with one of your items on display, Sabara!"
A small scowl of determination to appeared on Kaine's brow upon hearing this, and turned to assure Piper and Sabara, "Don't worry, I'll take care of it!" Tossing the necklace over to Piper before any protests could be made, he dropped his coat on the floor and dashed out of the shop, avoiding the man just as he said "He went that way!", pointing off towards the building where the young man and woman that Kaine saw talking up on the roof moments previously. Kaine then jumped clear over the table that was in front of the entrance, now chasing off after a skinny man with no shirt or shoes who was running in full sprint. Kaine was certain that he was the thief, as no one else was running in that direction. Watching the skinny thief run underneath the large arch in the side of the building, which lead around to the other side, Kaine was on his tail in mere seconds.
"Hey! Stop!" Kaine yelled after him, easily catching up after they made it behind the building, now passing him entirely, which took the young thief by complete surprise as he came to a skidding stop before Kaine, who was suddenly standing in front of the thief as if he'd been there all along, his hands on his hips and a smile on his face. "Wha...!?" the thief sputtered. "How...?" The thief then looked behind him as if to check that it WAS in fact the same person that was just chasing him a few seconds ago, before shooting his look back at Kaine. "What ARE you?"
Kaine continued to smile at him with a laugh, rubbing the bottom of his nose with the back of his index finger, "Yeah, I'm pretty fast." His expression returning to normal, "Now, you gonna give up? Or do I have to take back what you stole by force?" The thief seemed a little scared of Kaine, and with good reason; despite Kaine's overall jolly nature, he was quite imposing. "S-Stay back, you freak!" yelled the thief, now brandishing a small knife at Kaine.
"Hmm...?" hummed Kaine, looking worried. "I wouldn't recommend you doing that..." he said. The thief now appeared ready to attack, but was still a few feet away from Kaine, taking small scoots towards him, knife pointing in front. "I'm warning you!" he yelled at Kaine, "I'll cut you open, ya hear?!" Kaine's smile changed into a serious scowl, his voice a little more rough than usual, no sign of his usual happy nature. "Don't say I didn't warn you..." said Kaine, arms now both at his sides, waiting for the thief to get within range.
Just as the thief stepped one inch further, Kaine suddenly became a blur, the sound of a loud slamming impact echoing throughout the alleyways behind the building. "Guh...!" The thief was still trying to figure out what had happened. One moment, he was in front of Kaine, and then the next, he felt a powerful blow in his solar plexus, which completely knocked the wind out of him. Kaine's left hand was holding the wrist of the thief that was holding the knife, while his right arm's elbow was planted into the center of the thief's chest. "Good night~!" said Kaine, now giving his left hand a squeeze, forcing the thief to relinquish his hold on the knife, which now clattered onto the ground.
The thief then crumpled onto Kaine's chest, unconscious, which prompted Kaine to gently lay him down on the ground. Kaine's smile was once again on his face as he bent down to pick up the small golden trinket that could only have been the item the young man stole from Sabara's display stand. "Tch, tch, tch..." clicked Kaine, shaking his head. "Didn't your mother ever tell you not to take things that don't belong to you?" At that moment, Kaine turned around and noticed the same young man and woman that were talking up on the roof earlier, standing there off to the side, having just witnessed the whole scene. "Hi!" said Kaine, waving at them with a smile.
