BASIC INFORMATION
Name: Sunohara Tadashi. Nicknames: None. Gender: Male. Orientation: None. Age: Nineteen. Ethnicity: Japanese. Citizen of: Azaelea Republic and Magnolia.
XX
GENERAL APPEARANCE
Tadashi as rather average in appearance, though he still manages to be quite handsome. He stands at about 180 centimeters in height and weighs hardly over 52 kilograms. His tall and thin stature offer little in the ways of intimidation, and neither does his bright smile. Tadashi is also rather weak physically, having to rely on magic and sweet-talk to get him out of sticky situations. His hair is silky soft and hangs to his shoulders in dark onyx-colored strands, his bright blue eyes standing out in contrast to his tanned skin and dark hair. Tadashi has a multitude of tribal tattoos spanning up the entirety of his left side, and piercings in each ear, all of them being native to his home.
XXXX
BASIC PERSONALITY
Tadashi is one of the kindest people one could meet. He is someone who will help those in need without asking for anything in return, and is guilty of being unable to refuse if asked for a favor. He believes that happiness comes when the people around oneself are also happy. To most, he appears to be a 'never-ending circle of light' and this is exactly how he wishes people to see him: eternally optimistic and child-like. Although Tadashi may not seem so, he is actually very distrustful of others, and while he will never be rude to another, it takes him a while to open up about himself. Due to different circumstances in the past Tadashi is also very wary of when other people touch him, and will usually back away from a hug or wave instead of shaking someone else's hand.
XX
BIOGRAPHY/HISTORY
Tadashi grew up in a small, isolated town called the Azaelea Republic, located just outside of Magnolia's borders and under the rule of the Masamune family. He was the oldest to four younger siblings: two sisters and a pair of twins brothers. They were never well off, due to the limited job opportunities in their town and their large family, so Tadashi grew up constantly looking for ways to earn money to help support his family. By the time he was a teenager, he was doing just about every job he could find, whether it be cleaning houses or delivering messages. When Tadashi was fifteen, he came across a seventeen-year-old boy who was very wealthy. The boy gave Tadashi's father an extremely well-paying job in exchange for the family's friendship. However, for Tadashi, such an action came with a harsh consequence. The boy, whose name was Hotaru, ended up threatening to send Tadashi's family into the depths of poverty if he didn't give up his body, and he agreed. His life went on in this way for three years. One day, Tadashi's father found out about their 'relationship' and quit his job, claiming that he would prefer poverty to having his son be treated so crudely. That evening, Hotaru arrived at their home and murdered Tadashi's family. He blamed Tadashi for the act and left him alone, saying "You're just too beautiful to kill." Hotaru disappeared, and Tadashi remained at the crime scene until someone discovered it two days later, unable to move from the shock and grief. Once his family had been buried, Tadashi left home in search of Hotaru, vowing to gain revenge for his family's deaths.

The loud, shrill screaming of a woman broke through the stillness in the house, and was suddenly silenced. Thickening blood sat in pools on the floor and scattered across the walls, the foul stench of death hanging in the air. Tadashi stands frozen in the corner of the room, eyes wide in fear and horror as he stares down at the lifeless bodies of his parents and siblings. The man standing before him smiles and speaks. XX
Tadashi's eyes snap open, relief flooding over him as he realizes the vision was nothing but a dream, a memory. His vision is blurry, and his body aches. Thinking back to the cause of the pain, all he can remember is stupidly challenging a wild Chimera in the forest and being beaten to a pulp as a result. That was one of the dumber decisions I've made... As the blur begins to subside, Tadashi looks around, finding himself in an unfamiliar place. He sits up and carefully inspects the room from where he was situated. Well, I'm definitely not in a hospital. XX
A vision pops back into his head of a mysterious figure interfering in his fight with the Chimera, the memory hazy since he'd been barely conscious at the time. Tadashi sighed and lay back down, staring at the ceiling and pondering the different questions in his head. If I'm not in a hospital, then where am I? Who brought me here? Why? And how come I'm so useless at magic?! I must be an idiot for picking a fight with a Chimera when I can't even create a successful shield... Slowly, Tadashi sat back up and moved his feet to the floor, attempting to stand up. Instead, a painful throbbing in his temple made him lose his footing and topple over. Great, now I can't even stand up. This sucks.

It was a night when the moon was as red as blood, and the stars have all been chased away, leaving nothing but coldness and cruelty.

Right beneath that night sky, a once great city, a twisted heaven of those who are masters and a living hell of those who are slaves, is now reduced to nothing more than a ruin. Every building was set on the fire that never seemed to end and crumbled to dust, debris and ashes staining the air, blended with the sickening smell of blood and tarnished the air. On the ground, thousands of corpses scattering, each of which was badly disfigured and mutilated to the point of unrecognizable. A truly horrible scene that could give anyone a chill on their backs.

And somewhere in the center of the town, a young-looking man was standing, gazing up at the sky helplessly. His hands were stained with blood, his ragged clothes is also stained red. In a fit of rage and insanity, he had set his wrath onto this very city. On his chest, the necklace that his loved one had given him shining lightly, but it's not enough to wake him from this endless nightmare. He knows that ever since that moment, he had truly been cursed, for eternity. This is just the beginning of his long suffering days, and no one will be capable of saving him from falling deep into the dark. Gazing at the blood moon, he asked a question that he's yet to even find an answer.

"How long will this world stripped me of my everything?"

Somewhere, in Magnolia - the country of magic, where the population of magic-users is the densest in the world. Deep within the center of the forest, there stood a normal medium-sized wooden house. Trespassers often traveling within this forest, but they may never found this house. Why? Because its owner had set up a barrier to prevented anyone from finding out, not even the strongest mage of the kingdom could possibly find it.

In the back of the house, there was a small garden with a huge tree in the middle, and under the shade of the tree, Zankyou Wistarion - The Dark Terror, The Mad Wizard, or whatever names people had come up for him, was lying with both his hands around his head, napping peacefully. It was hard to believe that the one who strike fears into the hearts of anyone he came across can rest so casually like this.

"Zankyou-sama, I'm back." A young-looking woman with blonde hair walked to Zankyou and said, it seemed that she was carrying a water bucket. He then sat up and turned to her, "Welcome back, Arturia. Where's Merlin?"

"He's making breakfast as usual, I think." Arturia smiled lightly while respectfully replying to her master, "And the boy, I think he's still sleeping."

"I see. Well, I think I'm getting hungry too." He said with such a calm and soothing aura. It's amazing to find that someone who has such a dark past and harbors powers that could never be taken lightly can be so tranquil. "I guess I will go and watch him until Merlin is finished with whatever he's doing."

"Master, are you sure that it is okay to let an outsider in like this? Many have trespassed into the forest but this is the first time you ever let someone enter your barrier. It's not like I doubted your decision or anything but..." Arturia put down the water bucket and spoke up her mind.

"You're still as cautious as ever, Arturia." Zankyou replied with a serene smile, "I couldn't just leave him in that forest alone like that, especially since he was only a novice mage, right?"

"It never stopped to amaze me on how kind you are, master. If only the world could believe in it." She bowed to him in a respectful manner as he entered his wooden house.

Yesterday, when Zankyou and Merlin were making their ways back from investigating a possible ancient relic somewhere within this forest, they saw a boy was being cornered and badly wounded by a Chimera. Of course, no matter how much Zankyou had isolated himself from humanity, he's still a bearer of a good heart. Defeating the Chimera was as easy as pie for him, and he brought the boy back to his house, where he personally mended his wounds and let him to rest. However, it was quite foolhardy to face a beast like a Chimera when you're still a novice like that, indeed.

When Zankyou stood in front of the door where the young mage rests, Merlin had also brought a bowl of soup and some bread on a tray, apparently it was for the boy. "Good morning, Zankyou-sama. The boy has been resting well, I think. I suppose he'll be wake up anytime so I went and make him some soup."

"I see. Well, let's see how is the boy doing. My medication is taking effect but he mustn't exerting himself so much just yet." Zankyou said as he opened the door and entered, along with Merlin.

Inside, it looks like the boy had just awakened from his sleep and trying to stand up, "That was quite close, you know? You should stay intact for a little while more before starting to move again. You were mauled quite badly, after all." Zankyou spoke up in a calm manner as he stood in front of the young mage, "Don't worry, I mean no harm for you. Though I wasn't sure if you're brave or foolhardy for facing a Chimera like that at your level." Zankyou chuckled, "Tell me then, what business brings you here into these woods?"

Hearing footsteps and muffled voices, Tadashi turned toward just as it opened, two males entering. One had black hair and looked to be around his age, the other sporting insanely long blonde locks and looking somewhat younger. Tadashi instinctively tensed up as the black-haired man walked towards him, relaxing slightly after being reassured that he wasn't in danger. Being reminded of his dumb decision with the Chimera, Tadashi's face contorted a bit, turning from blank distrust to outright shame. I know it was a stupid idea, no need to rub it in... XX
"Tell me then, what business brings you here into these woods?" Upon hearing the question, Tadashi silently contemplated whether he should be honest or not, and figured he didn't have a weird enough reason for being there to need to lie about it. "No reason, really. I just heard that people rarely came into this forest and thought it'd be a good place to practice magic without people getting in the way." His obvious mistake with that choice made him groan internally."I didn't really think there'd be any wild Chimeras out here...by the way, how did you defeat that thing? I thought only a mage would be able to..." It took a painfully long minute for Tadashi to realize what he had said. XX
Once it did, Tadashi's face lit up with an ear-to-ear grin. Turning back toward the black-haired man, Tadashi pointed at him accusingly, his entire aura brightening. "That mean's you're a mage! And a good one, which means that you could teach me! I can only do two spells right now, I probably wouldn't even be able to get out of this forest by myself, please teach me!" Tadashi moved into a formal position and bowed dramatically as he spoke, groaning loudly as the action happened to aggravate the bite wound on his shoulder, throbbing in protest.

When observing as the young mage replying to his question, Zankyou couldn't helped but find it to be very amusing, watching as the boy changing his expressions at a rather fast pace. No matter how much he tried to isolated himself from humanity, he knows that sometimes people can be real interesting. Having lived for 400 years, it's the least of things that you should know about, after all.

He listened and raised an eyebrow upon hearing that the boy just wanted to find a place to practice magic where he isn't disturbed, and the forest is the perfect place for that. "I see. You're right, but hasn't anyone told you of hostile creatures that lurk around? That's why not many people are here." Then the boy went on to asked Zankyou why was he able to defeated that creature, which makes him surprise at how innocent he was for not knowing the answer to such an obvious question. And a minute later, he chimed loudly and exerted a totally bright aura, much to the contrary of the doubtful attitude earlier.

He asked Zankyou to be his teacher.

He stayed silent and gave the boy a gaze for a while. At that moment, Zankyou could have just outright denied the request right away and he was about to do so. But looking at the young mage's anticipated and sincere look in his eyes, there's a strange feeling that suddenly rises in him. In the end, he didn't say it, instead letting out a sigh, "You said you want to learn more about magic, but instead of enrolling a magic academy, you're asking a wizard to teach you just because that person defeated a Chimera and saved you? To be honest, the reason why I live within this forest is to stay away from you people, and I will not just willing to let anyone stay in my house and agree to teach them magic just because they ask me to."

Zankyou turned his back and headed to the door, "Give me some times to think first. In the meantime, just stay still and rest if you don't want your wounds to open up again. Let's go, Merlin."

"Yes, master." The blonde-haired man nodded and placed the tray onto the bed and smiled brightly to the young mage, "Please eat it while it's still hot, okay?" He said and both of them left the room. They made their ways to the garden in the back of the house, where Arturia was watering the flowers. Zankyou then went on to tending some of the withered flowers while Merlin told Arturia what has happened.

"It's the first time I saw you hesitate in a really long while, Zankyou-sama." Arturia commented as both of the servants are now standing behind him, "Is there something intriguing about that young mage?"

"When looking at him, I can see that he had the look of someone who once had a stormy past. He had the determination and the courage, but he's still very naive." Zankyou said while rejuvenating the flowers, bringing life back to them, before standing up and facing with his servants, "But there's one thing I can be sure is that I want to believe in him, no matter how inexperienced he is."

"You mean... you are certain that he is the one?" Merlin was surprised when he heard his master's reply.

"I always say that in this life, there's nothing such as coincidences, right? Fate has led him here and it was sheer miracle that he had survived. I've been searching for an answer for hundreds of years and I don't think I will ever give up my hope, knowing that there's still the slightest of chance. And this is my decision." He raises his arm towards the two, "So, are you two with me?"

Both of them turned to each other for a short moment before bowed before Zankyou, "We trust in you, master."

And so, the three of them made their ways back to the boy's room, Zankyou entered first and the two servants are behind him. Without saying anything, he walked up to the boy and place his hand on his bare chest, "Ammetto di accedere a mio santuario." He chanted as a symbol appear on the young mage's chest, shining for a few seconds before disappearing.

"You are now capable of entering and leaving the barrier I've set up around my house. You're also allow to stay here if you wished." He said as he moved his hand away while standing straight in front of the boy, "From now on, I, Zankyou Wistarion, will take you up as my apprentice."

Then, he tilted his head with another smile, "So, are you contented now? I hope you'll be ready because it won't be easy." He said before turning to the two standing behind, "These two are Merlin and Arturia. They are my most successful creations, as well as my most trusted servants. If you have any problems, seek for their helps." The two then bowed to the boy. "And one last thing, what is your name?"

(Translate: I grant you access to my sanctuary.)

Tadashi listened to what was said and watched the two leave, moving from the floor to sit back on the bed and staring down at the soup suspiciously for a moment before starting to eat it. He'd been poisoned before and was now wary of what he ate, though he had been told they weren't trying to kill him. Tadashi finished the meal and set the tray neatly beside him, silently twirling the rings on his finger while he waited. His thoughts turned toward the cabin's isolated area. I wonder why he wants to be so far away from people. He must have a reason. XX
When the men returned, this time accompanied by a serious-looking woman, Tadashi didn't say anything. He instinctively moved backwards as the mage neared him, and flinched visibly at the sudden physical contact, though he made no move to attack or push the man away. Tadashi tensed up as he chanted and watched closely as the glowing symbol appeared and disappeared, leaving no trace behind. In hearing the reason for the spell, Tadashi sighed in relief and relaxed a bit. "From now on, I, Zankyou Wistarion, will take you up as my apprentice." XX
His bright smile returned the second he heard what was said, and couldn't help but feel excited. "Don't worry, I have a good reason to learn magic and I'm not going to give up when things get a little tough. Tadashi said, bowing back to Arturia and Merlin. "And my name? Its Su- ah, its Tadashi." He doubted that his new teacher had heard his name before, since he lived so far from civilization, but since he was wanted by the King he assumed it would be better to play safe for the time being and keep his surname to himself. "Its nice to meet you!" XX
Thinking over the name Zankyou Wistarion in his head, Tadashi knew he recognized it somehow, but shrugged off the thought and instead focused on what good was to happen. After all, finally being able to learn magic was definitely something to celebrate, if only with himself.

Zankyou nodded to Tadashi as he stated his name. It's amusing how he can switch from being so cautious to a much more excited attitude like this. He couldn't helped but wondering what has the boy gone through in his life that make him to put up such a distant front like that. Well, it's not like that his life was any happier so he can says that he understand how it feel to have rocky start in life. But unlike him, the boy still had that innocent look in his eyes, and he still had the willingness to love this world as it is, whereas Zankyou had lost his.

"Well, it's good that you're determined, but magic isn't a plaything and it can even kill you if you allow it to take the best of you." Zankyou said, "But keep up that spirit. You're going to need it. By tomorrow, you should be able to move normally again. We'll begin your training by then. But to keep yourself going until then..." He flicked as a large, 30 inches thick book with an old-looking cover appeared and fell onto Tadashi's lap, "Basic grimoire for novice, I want you to learn everything in it by heart. I will expect you to memorized all by tomorrow. Good luck. If you're uncertain of something, feel free to ask. Make yourself at home, by the way."

Zankyou then turned to Merlin, "What's for breakfast today?" He asked as he left the room with his servants, not even turning back to see how shock the boy probably was upon seeing the grimoire.

Just like that, his monotonous routine went on normally like everyday.

A muffled cough escaped from Tadashi's mouth as the gigantic tome was dropped on him, and he found himself staring at it as he listened to Zankyou's words. "B-By tomorrow?" Looking up at his teacher in confusion, Tadashi watched as the man left, and knew for sure he wasn't kidding. His gaze moved back to the book in front of him and he let out a sigh. Well, I doubt I'll be getting out of it, and it's not like I'll be going anywhere either, so I might as well try. Tadashi searched the room once more and found his bag sitting next to the bed, pulling out a thick leather-bound journal and a few pencils. He spent the rest of the evening taking notes and replicating different images he found in the book, stopping every once in a while when Arturia or Merlin entered to check on his wounds, or to draw the scenery outside the window. XX
Both surprising and unsurprising, the book was actually quite interesting, with several spell-casting tips and information about different magical creatures (the simpler ones, at least). However, it was still insanely humongous, and no matter how determined he was, he knew he would have to sleep at some point. Tadashi silently wondered if he would be scolded if he didn't finish the book by the end of the day. XX
Tadashi ended up falling asleep long past nightfall, the book nearly finished and his notebook half-full with information, various pencils and drawings scattered across the bed. Unfortunately, sleep did not come soundly, and he could be found both groaning quietly and sweating in his sleep. For the entire year since he'd left home, Tadashi was subject to the same memory every time he slept: the sad and endlessly painful memory of watching his family die and not doing a single thing about it. He'd simply stood there in shock, and he truly regretted it. XX
When he awoke the next morning, the sun was still rising, and Tadashi lay there staring at the ceiling for a full ten minutes before deciding to get up. Once he was dressed, he silently moved out of the house and into the garden, happily seating himself down to draw the scenery.

The passed on quietly, even though the house has had one more resident, it doesn't look any much different to Zankyou. Most of the day, he just left Tadashi in his room so that he can quietly study the grimoire he had given him. Peace of mind is one of many important things you needed if you want to memorize something effectively. It was partly due to his distant personality, also. He hasn't met a human being other than his servants for quite some while, after all.

The following morning come quickly. Arturia was taking a water bucket to water the plants as usual, but the first thing she saw wasn't her master sitting in the garden, but it was Tadashi himself. She and Merlin did stop by his room to tend his wounds a couple of times, but they didn't exchange any conversations. Though if he was going to stay here then Arturia figured that she they would get to know each other more.

Setting the bucket near the plants, Arturia spoke up, "Good morning, did you sleep well last night? I believe that your wounds are healed by now." She sat herself in front of him, "I was surprised that Zankyou-sama accepted you to become his apprentice. He often saved people who were attacked by beasts within this forest, but he never let them in his house, let alone giving them access through his barrier. It looks like he held strong belief in you, young mage."

She stopped a bit before continuing, "Well, since you're going to stay here with us, I figure that we should know each other. As my master introduced yesterday, my name is Arturia. I'm a homonculus created by Zankyou-sama, along with Merlin, and we've been his servants for a long while now. I can say that we know everything about our master. Since you're his apprentice now, should you have anything you want to know about him, then within his permission, I will tell you what I can."

When Arturia is sure that the young mage is listening to her, she went on, "There are some rules that aren't spoken, but you have to know within this house. You must never allow any other people know about the existence of this house, and you mustn't disturb Zankyou-sama when he's in a middle of researching. You also mustn't make any loud noise around the house or tampering with his garden over there. As you can see, there are a few rooms which was sealed by my master himself. You mustn't break the seal and enter the room without his permission. And you shouldn't practice any dangerous magic inside the house."

"That's a couple of things you should know, other than that, Zankyou-sama is an easy-going person, even though he might not look like it. And there's one last thing you should know, this is for your own safety..." Arturia stopped a bit, as if she's a little hesitating to say, but she still had to, "Zankyou-sama once was being used to be a guinea pig to test many curses and hexes in the past. Most of which he had already broken by himself, however, there's one curse that only the one who casts it can break. This curse will take effect every two night, and according to my master, his sexual desire will be pushed to the highest, so much that he will act only pure of instincts once it does. And once that happened, Zankyou-sama will unconsciously forced any males he came across to have intercourse with him in order to satisfy his need."

She let out a sigh, "What I'm saying here is that you shouldn't get near his room when he's taking care of his 'business' with some of his other creations. Thanks to his sound barrier, you wouldn't hear anything from your room, but his voice will become loud and clear if you get near to his room and it can be quite disturbing. Zankyou-sama's taste is rather... extreme, if I must say."

Then, Arturia stood up and turned her back, "That's all I'm saying for now. We should get inside. Merlin's probably finished making breakfast and my master should be up too."

Ah, screw me and my dirty mind, I just couldn't help myself because I've always wanted to write that :(

Tadashi smiled gently to Arturia, setting his sketchbook aside as she sat down. "I can move my arm again without it hurting, so you must have done a very good job healing it~" As if to demonstrate, Tadashi moved his arm around in circles, grinning playfully. He listened to her as she spoke and silently filed the term 'Homunculus' among the others he'd learned from the book of magic. Hearing that his teacher had been subject to so many different curses made him feel bad for the guy. After all, curses and vexes were not something to speak lightly of. XX
However, Tadashi's rather sympathetic expression turned to one of mild concern when Arturia told him about the un-removable curse. "I didn't even know curses like that existed, it sounds horrible..." Tadashi didn't know much about dark magic and only knew of a few low-level curses, but the thought of being doomed to lose your grip on reality every two days seemed tragic, especially when it was sexual in nature. XX
He was snapped out of his thoughts when Arturia spoke again, and he quickly picked up his art supplies, returning them to his room and stepping into the kitchen to see if he could help. It seemed the meal had already been completed, so he simply stood off to the side and observed. Tadashi knew that he was welcome, but still felt awkward about sitting down at someone's table without being invited, especially since he'd never actually eaten in another person's home before. His family hadn't been the type who had many friends to eat meals with. XX
Of course, once the meal began, Tadashi melded right in. He spoke to them about the places he'd been to, and about the two pathetic spells he'd already learned. It could have been noted that while he did end up speaking about his hometown, not a single word was said about his family, nor his childhood, which definitely could have been seen as suspicious to anyone. However, Tadashi gave little time for them to consider it, the cheerful conversation occupying everyone's attention in what he hoped was a pleasant way. He didn't want to be annoying.
Image
Pffft, I'm enjoying myself just by imaging Tadashi's face in reaction to hearing that~

After having a nice morning chat with each other, both Arturia and Tadashi went back inside and made their way to the kitchen, where Zankyou is sitting and reading newspaper while sipping over a nice cup of coffee, while Merlin is making some omelettes, sausages and bacon. They looked pretty much like a small family. Well, they've been together for hundreds of years, so it's hardly that they aren't.

"Good morning, Tadashi-kun. Did you have a good sleep?" Zankyou moved his eyes away from the newspaper and asked, "What were you two talking about earlier?"

"It's nothing, master. Just some stuffs to know each other better since now we're going to live together." Arturia replied with a smile at she sat down.

"Breakfast is served." Merlin said happily as the plates telekinetically flew around him and neatly placed on the table, in front of everyone as he also sat down, "Bon appetit."

And so, they all went on with their breakfast as everyday conversation went on. Tadashi still felt a little awkward, apparently, but the other three just casually talking with him as if he's lived with them fore a long time already. Arturia and Merlin retold what was happening around the capital of Magnolia, because unlike Zankyou who didn't wish to, they're free to travel into the kingdom everyday so that they can make some money by selling herbs and potions that Zankyou had grew and made, and bought ingredients to make meals. It's also quite a good way for Zankyou himself to keep up what's going on in the world without getting out of his house.

Zankyou listened to what Tadashi got to say about himself and he did speak about his hometown, but never mentioning his relatives, parents or siblings, which made he felt a little curious as of why he's hiding. But everyone's gotta have some secrets and you shouldn't be too interested in it. He knows it so well because he's a man of mysteries himself.

After their nice breakfast, Zankyou, along with his servants, led Tadashi to a deserted ground with no trees surrounding which was not very far from the house, although it is beyond Zankyou's barrier. As soon as they stepped their feet into the ground, a barrier was erected, thus hiding them from outsiders. "This is the ground where I use to practice magic and rituals that require spaces. From now on, this will also be your training ground."

He then raises his hand and chanted, "Beachten Sie meine Aufforderung, o 'der großen Elemente von dieser Welt, zu weihen diesen Boden, machen ihn zum heiligen Land des Herrn würdig." The ground then shake as a magic circle appeared. "Now that this ground has connected to the fey line of this kingdom, casting magic will be easier. This has been stated in the grimoire, so I hope you've already memorized them all."

Zankyou then walking around the circle while began lecturing, "Magic is not something that anybody can tamper and utilize like a piece of toy. It is an art. And just like any other arts, only a certain amount of people are gifted with it, which are us magic-users in general. There are many things that you're born with and you have to bear with it for the rest of your life, as you're not capable to change them, but there are also things that can be improved or rusted over time." Then, he stopped right in front of Tadashi, "Before we began our first lesson, we will need to check your capability, your mana type, your element, how much you've mastered your abilities and how well are your body and soul harmonize. We can check it all with a simple spell. Merlin, can you make an example?"

"Yes, Zankyou-sama." Merlin nodded as he stepped forward. He then closed raised his arms as magic began to regenerate on his palms. "Concentrate all of your raw magic on and imagine them to materialized on your palms like a ball, then, when you feel that you're getting exhausted, you can stop." Zankyou lectured as the ball of magic in Merlin's palms was getting bigger as magic concentrated in them like a ball. When he's finished, it turned out to have a mild green color with some golden particle popping from it, it has a size which was slightly bigger than his head.

"Out of every homunculus that I've created, Merlin is the most perfected. He had the body, the mana pool and magic capabilities that of an S-class mage. I gave him the soul of a legendary ancient magus who specializes in nature and light magic and it harmonizes with his body almost to a perfect level. So you can see, the size of his magic ball and its color, as well as its' stability showed how strong he is as a mage. Which is why, I dare to say that Merlin is strong enough to match Queen Wilhelmina, who is regarded as the most powerful mage of Magnolia." Zankyou analyzed.

"You're overestimated me, master. I'm really nothing compared to you though." Merlin replied with a respectful bow as he clasped his hands to disintegrate the ball and took a step back. "Now is your turn. It's quite easy if you're focused enough. Show me." Zankyou said to his apprentice.

Tadashi made it a point to help Merlin wash the dishes once their meal was done, and soon enough, the four of them had left the house and were instead situated in a peaceful forest clearing. It's so tranquil in this forest. Well, it is when you aren't being attacked by a Chimera... XX
As Zankyou spoke, Tadashi listened intently to every word, attempting to sketch out the magic circle that appeared in front of him, though he ran out of time to draw the entire thing. His eyes visibly lit up when Merlin demonstrated his power, and he eagerly observed every movement the blond made. "I've heard of how powerful the Queen is. Being able to match her is something to be proud of!" Tadashi said, a bright smile stretching from ear to ear. When it was his turn to demonstrate, Tadashi stepped into the circle without a grin, saying nothing. XX
Holding his palms out in front of him, copying Merlin's form and expression almost perfectly, Tadashi closed his eyes and let out a breath. Slowly but surely, his magical energy condensed itself into a sphere. The sphere itself was several shades of blue, with a silver mist circulating around it, and was the smallest bit bigger than half the size of Merlin's. Tadashi's own sphere was rather calm and he appeared to be in complete control of it. Then, after a few seconds, the sphere disappeared without prompt. Was it supposed to disappear so quickly?

When it was Tadashi's turn to demonstrate, Zankyou stepped back so that the young mage can perform the spell more confidently and successfully. Well, whether if the boy had any promising potential or not, Zankyou had already place his trust on him. He did take some pride in his own capabilities, after all. If he were to find his own death one day, then perhaps it is best that he passes all the knowledge he had acquired for over 400 years for someone whom he deemed worthy.

As the magic sphere soon appeared on Tadashi's palm, Zankyou raised his eyebrow, showing some hint of surprise. And it seemed that Merlin and Arturia also felt the same as him. After a couple of minutes though, the sphere quickly disintegrated and Tadashi seemed to be rather surprised because of that.

Well, don't be so down-hearted that you couldn't keep it intact as long as Merlin, most novices are the same when they haven't control their mana flow properly yet." Zankyou said calmly as he stepped forward, "Even though it didn't last quite long, I did able to get hold of your nature. And believe me, you have quite a talent, Tadashi-kun."

He paused a bit before continuing, "From what I can saw from your magic ball, your magic mainly focused on light and sky magic, but you have potential to reach an even higher level that not many people are capable of, which is divine and cosmos magic. I will dwell into it later when you've reached a certain level. Your mana flow is quite stable and you seemed to be able to control it with ease, but I can see that your mind and your body has only reached 52% of synchronization. Your capabilities and your resilience are still quite low. But for a novice like you, it's certainly is a good start. But it still up to whether you're determined to improve or not."

"Now then, let me explain more carefully of what you're capable of." Zankyou said as he flicked, some of the magic spark centered and began to presented in accordance to what he's going to say, "Light magic is called by many to be "the art of divinity", mages who are gifted with this kind of magic are capable of performing healing, exorcism, consecration, barriers, etc. Or to put it short, it is the art of separating the corrupted with the pure. Sky magic, on the other hand, focused more on the control and utilization of magical fey lines presented on the sky above us. Which means, you're capable of controlling a portion of cosmical forces and actualize them into, for example, offensive magic such as magical blast, physical enhancement, etc. However, this type of magic is too hard for you to control actively at your level, for now, it will only act as a passive mean that support your main faction of magic, which is light."

"Arturia." Zankyou turned his back and called for his other servant, she nodded and then stepped forward, in front of Tadashi, then raising both of her arms to the side. "Now, try to hit her with your magic, as hard as possible. Don't try to hold back."

Tadashi took in every word of his teacher's speech, hastily taking notes in his little leather book. XX
He gulped slightly when Arturia stepped up. She was quite intimidating, despite how kind and sweet she'd been to him, and Tadashi felt conflicted about trying to spar with her. Setting his book and pencil on the grass off to the side, he took a deep breath and faced her head-on. Tadashi thought back to the book he'd read the previous night, skimming over different spells he'd learned and contemplating which one would be most effective. After all, if Arturia was even half as strong as Merlin, she would likely be able to counter any blow he threw. XX
Tadashi's expression was oddly level when he finally decided. Instead of trying to direct a blast at her like most would (Zankyou did say he wasn't strong enough yet), Tadashi lunged right at Arturia, a mint-green colored shield forming at the last second before contact. The hit only pushed her the tiniest bit backward, hardly enough to cause even the smallest of bruises, the shield evaporating a few seconds later. XX
Tadashi frowned slightly, but wasn't out of breath or confused. He hadn't really expected the hit to do any damage anyways, so he wasn't surprised. "None of my spells last very long at all. Is that normal, for a beginner?" He asked. They all evaporate after only a few seconds...

Zankyou watched as Tadashi prepared to cast his spell against Arturia as he's requested. Somehow he felt that it was quite amusing watching how the boy felt anxious up against an opponent who outmatched him, and the way he decided which spells he should use to bring the best result. Watching someone trying hard in order to reach a goal - it's something Zankyou had always wanted to see.

After watching Tadashi's spell against Arturia, which no surprisingly ended in not much of a result, he nodded and stepped forward. Arturia also took a step back behind her master, "It's nothing to be discouraged about, really. As I've stated before, you are not capable of controlling your mana flow and your raw magic properly yet. This is even harder for someone who had a gift for rare magic like you. I can say that it's better of a good start than not being able to do anything at all." He then turned his gaze to his female servant, "Arturia isn't a mage, she had the body of a skilled knight, but she still had some flows of magic within her vein. Which is why, she's falls into the category of a Magic Knight. Arturia is not capable of casting spells like mages, but she can channel her magic flows into her sword, thus greatly strengthen her swordsmanship. Plus, she's also resistant to magic in her nature. So I can say that can stand up against just any mages who don't know how to fight physically."

"Okay then, let's say that you've passed the 'tests' I've set out for you. You have what it takes to learn the art of magic. Today, we shall begin to learn the some of the basic spells that all mages are required to master." Zankyou commented as he began to lecture.

And so, the morning and the afternoon passed quickly. Zankyou had taught Tadashi many things that he needed to know for a beginner and it isn't wrong to say that the boy was quite a fast learner himself. Before any of them know it, the sun was on the verge of setting as the whole space is about to get dark.

After teaching Tadashi how to use telekinesis, Zankyou then shut down his magic circle, "Okay, we will stop here for today. Let us return before it's getting darker." With that said, they all made their way back to Zankyou's house. He quickly disappeared into his room before saying anything with his servants and apprentice, as he could already felt that his craving was about to take over him already. The last thing he wanted was to show how pathetic he is when his curse take it tolls.

Tadashi continued to take notes of everything his teacher said, constantly reminding himself that even the smallest detail could be the difference between life and death in a battle (not that he really hoped to be in any). He'd always been a fast learner, and by the end of the day, he'd already learned how to us telekinesis - to a certain extent. Zankyou ended the day's lesson just as it began to get dark. Tadashi felt a chill run down his spine when he recalled what Arturia had told him that morning, and once again felt sympathy towards his teacher. XX
Zankyou disappeared into his bedroom the second they walked into the house, and Tadashi let out a sigh as he headed to his own room. I wonder if there's a way to neutralize a curse like that... In an attempt to satisfy his curiosity - and to finish the task he hadn't the previous night - Tadashi picked up the giant book of spells and resumed his notes, scanning the pages for anything that could answer his question. Sadly, he found nothing, and completed the book about forty-five minutes later. Idiot, its a beginner's book, of course that stuff's not in it... XX
Closing the book and securing his notes in his bag, Tadashi moved to the bed and flopped over onto it, letting out an exasperated sigh. What did he have to go through in order to come out with a curse like that? His thoughts wandered to what Arturia had meant by 'extreme taste', and Tadashi turned bright red, shoving the ideas to the back of his mind and instead remembering the spells he'd learned that day. XX
Twenty minutes later, he was fast asleep, curled into fetal position and quietly grumbling to himself. After all, his nightmares never failed...

Dawn has fast approached and it seemed that it was truly a peaceful night, not only within the forest, but also in the kingdom. Magnolia is pretty much a country where people can live and thrive freely. While criminals are something that still presented, they were dealt with quickly so it's hard not to say that this country is indeed a country worth to live for. But little do the people know that deep within these woods, the ever-feared dark wizard who was always being casted away is living, away from their eyes.

As the first light of the day peaked through the window of Zankyou's room, he quietly winched and opened his eyes slowly to the chirping of the bird and the call of the nature outside. He was lying on his bed without a piece of clothes presented on his body and scattered throughout his body was stripes and some bruises, and it was rather stingy from his waist down. Though now when he'd woken up, his body automatically healed up itself. Sighing, he put on the clothes which was thrown on the floor. Because it is the curse nature that he would satisfy his lust unconsciously, he had no idea what on earth he did either. But his creations are versatile, so they can still satisfy him no matter what sorts of kinks he want.

Making his way to the kitchen, Zankyou saw that Merlin is preparing breakfast, as usual. "Good morning, Zankyou-sama. Did you have a good night?" He smiled and turned to his master, though of course he knew all so well of what had happened last night already.

"Yeah, I'm fine, Merlin. I had no idea of what did I do either." He shrugged and then sat down at the table, reading the newspaper and sipping over a cup of coffee like everyday. Arturia might be watering the garden right now, so they all waited for Tadashi to get up before eating their breakfast. He quietly thought of what will he teach the young mage today

When morning came, Tadashi awoke with sweat coating his brow, and was unhappy to find that he'd slept in much later than usual. He grew even more upset when he heard chatter and movement from the kitchen, indicating that he was the last person to wake. Oh well, its not like I can do anything about it now. Standing, he wiped the sweat off with his shirt and changed clothes, pulling his hair back into a ponytail before grabbing his books and heading out of the bedroom. As expected, everyone else was already up, settled around the table in waiting. XX
"Sorry I'm late, for some reason I didn't wake up at the time I usually do. Did anything interesting happen in town?" Tadashi spoke with a smile as he walked into the kitchen, peeking over Zankyou's shoulder at the newspaper he was holding. His stomach did flips as he caught sight of the small 'wanted' ad in the corner of the paper, his name printed in neat letters. Tadashi was suddenly glad that he hadn't told them his surname, especially since 'Tadashi' was actually a common name. Hopefully no one will know that its me the paper's talking about. XX
Tadashi sat down to eat and started up a conversation, as usual, though if one paid close attention it was obvious his mind was elsewhere. He had good reason to be worried, after all, the entire Azaelean army was trying to find him. Tadashi tried not to let the worry plague his mind and kept himself busy with idle chatter. He helped Merlin with the dishes once again and then followed his teacher out of the house. XX
He was a little disappointed in the fact that he couldn't stop to draw the forest scenery, but promised himself that he would make time to draw later that night. However, Tadashi soon grew consumed with that day's lesson, and ten minutes later he had completely forgotten about the beautiful scenery, instead more concerned with taking notes and practicing the spells Zankyou had taught him. Hours passed and it wasn't long before Tadashi had gotten fully used to telekinesis, as well a couple less difficult spells. The two then took a break for lunch. XX
"Hey, Sensei, have you ever heard of moving pictures?" With a smirk on his face, Tadashi turned to face his teacher while flipping through the pages of his sketchbook, as if searching for a specific page. "My little sister and I invented a spell that can make pictures move." Tadashi stopped on the drawing of Zankyou's garden and set the sketchbook down, gently tracing his finger over the lines of the drawing. Little by little, the flowers and trees in the image began to sway back and forth, the clouds in the sky moving slowly across the page. Tadashi held up the page to show his teacher and grinned proudly, as if the spell and action were the biggest achievement of his entire life.

"Good morning, Tadashi-kun." Zankyou calmly moved his gaze away from the newspaper and looked at his apprentice, who has just excused himself for getting up later than usual. It looks like he had some problems with his sleep so he didn't fare too well at nights. As the young mage sat down, they all have breakfast while conversing casually with each other. Well, it was mostly Tadashi and Zankyou's two servants were talking, but he himself did peek in some times.

After they've finished breakfast and the chores, Zankyou led Tadashi, along with Merlin and Arturia to the ground, where their second day of learning and teaching begun. They continued with where they were yesterday and Zankyou was able to teach Tadashi many other spells. But even though he had managed to cast them successfully, they didn't last very long, which was something he had to work out. So far, he had managed to master telekinesis mid-way to intermediate level, which was quite an achievement for a beginner like him. Some times Zankyou was quite surprise at how talented the boy actually was.

When they stopped for lunch, Tadashi caught Zankyou's attention with a spell he claimed that he and his sister had invented. Watching as he performed the spell and looked very proud about it. He couldn't help but chuckling at how innocent he actually was, but they all did applauded him for his invention. "Well, inventing new spells is certainly one thing that a magic-user needed to master, and it was actually good being able to do that at your current level. You should be proud about it. Let me show you something that a professional mage should is capable of."

He raises his finger as some magic was engraved within Tadashi's book, changing the scenery around them exactly like how it was drawn in the sketchbook, rather than just they coming alive on the papers. "You have quite a talent for drawing, Tadashi-kun. You should exploited it more."

After lunch, they continued with their lessons until dusk falls. The dinner and the night went on peacefully without much fuss. When Zankyou retreated to his room and was about to rest for the day, someone knocked on his door. "Come in." He said and it was Tadashi, who looked as if he's having some questions, "I thought you'd slept by now. Is there anything you need?"

Tadashi grinned even wider in hearing praise from his teacher, and his eyes grew transfixed on the scene before him. His entire face lit up as his drawing appeared around him. "That's amazing! You have to teach me that spell someday!" The lunch break ended, and the lesson was resumed, hours passing with the learning of new spells practicing of spells he already new. His notebook was now nearly full, even after only two days of learning, and he made sure to write down a reminder to buy new ones the next time he went into town. If I'm in the newspaper though, someone might recognize me...perhaps I should just ask Arturia or Merlin to get some for me instead.Tadashi frowned. XX
As the group headed back toward the house, Tadashi walked slower than everyone else, haphazardly balancing his sketchbook on top of his other books as he drew the path in front of him. It wasn't large enough to be regarded as a road, but the foliage was flattened slightly from treading, creating an opening through the tall grass that stretched from the magic circle to the house. It really is a beautiful place to live... XX
Back at the house, Tadashi helped prepare dinner, and helped wash dishes after the meal had been finished. Though he would never say it aloud, aiding in even such little tasks gave him the smallest feeling of home, as if he were cooking with his mother or cleaning with his younger siblings. He also didn't feel it was fair if he let everyone else do the work. Once the chores were finished, Tadashi headed back to his bedroom, flipping through his sketchbook and observing the drawings. He smiled as he remembered Zankyou's earlier compliment. XXXXX
Tadashi took a few minutes to relish in the memories some of his drawings held, and then he grabbed the spellbook his finished reading, quietly leaving his room and knocking lightly on his teacher's bedroom door. "I thought you'd slept by now. Is there anything you need?" With an awkward smile, Tadashi handed the spellbook to him. "I finished reading the book, so I figured I should give it back." He fiddled with his fingers idly, pondering over his words as if he was unsure whether or not he should speak them. "I don't want to be invasive, and I understand if you don't want to tell me, but...well, Arturia told me about a curse that someone put on you, and I was simply curious of who would've put such a curse on someone..." Tadashi continued to fidget and felt his face grow pink. Hopefully sensei won't notice the blushing.

Tadashi smiled awkwardly as he handed out the grimoire that Zankyou had given him the day before yesterday when he accepted him to become his apprentice, saying that he has finished reading. "Well, you can just keep it. If there's anything that you forget in the future, you can always take a look to remember. You're not strong enough to learn memorizing spell yet so it's yours. I still have thousands of books in my possession."

Then, the young mage went on to ask Zankyou about his curse, which Arturia has told him, fondling over whether it was too personal or not. Blinking for a moment, Zankyou chuckled with a shrug, "I wouldn't mind too much if I were to talk about it, Tadashi-kun. After all, if you have to live with something for most of your life, you'll eventually get used to it to the point that you wouldn't felt offended should anyone ask you."

He cleared his throat, "To answer your question, Arturia might have mentioned already that I used to be a slave and also a guinea pig for corrupted mages and wizards to test their new curses and spells, right? I have long forgotten the names of those already, and even though I've managed to break most curses that were inflicted on me, this one could only be broken by the one who created it. So even I couldn't do anything about it. But it's okay. I've coped with it as much as I cope with my other curse so there's no big deal. Although when I wake up the next morning I totally have no recollection of what I did."

"If that's all you want to ask then I suggest you rest for the night, but before that..." Zankyou flicked as a dreamcatcher appeared, he then gave it to Tadashi, "If you have problems with your sleeps, hang this over your window and you should sleep soundly. And since you've finished with the beginner grimoire..." Some books flew from his bookcase, "History of magic, Basic herbology and potion making, Intermediate grimoire and Utilization of light magic for beginners. You can take your time and research them."
