There's very rarely a student within Mahoutokoro that hasn't heard of Chihiro. Captain of the Calligraphy club and son of a respected lineage... yet he's never let that get to his head. Though he initially comes off as polite and reserved, his actions are never meant to create distance and he's always willing to assist if he can. Sometimes one might say too willing, as when given a task he'll often try to seize control, though never overtly. It starts off with small suggestions on how to be more efficient and the next thing you know Chihiro's trying to spearhead the entire project.
Though willing to help, it's rare for him to ask for any. He's a perfectionist at heart and finds it difficult to trust anyone else to get the results he wants. Yet when there's a group task, he's fully convinced that it was his fault, even if he clearly did nothing wrong. This may be a result of his older brother's accomplishments, whose robes were gold for all but his first year. Chihiro's fully-convinced that he's a cheap knock-off of his brother. Instead of pursuing academic excellence, devotes himself to learning as much as he can in all subject matter, just so it would be difficult to compare the two of them.
It's rare to find Chihiro alone, and he does this intentionally so he doesn't wallow in self-pity. More often than not, he'll be in the Calligraphy club room with Iori, his brown owl. When around the club he's visibly more relaxed compared to regular class hours, as he considers the people in it his friends. It also comes as a comfort to him that no matter how good his brother was at his classes, he never could draw a rune worth hanging up on the wall.
