Aaron is the kid who never grew up, and unfortunately for everyone around him, he is doomed to stay that way for the rest of eternity. He is young and youthful, over flowing with life and joy at the little things, always running when he could walk and yelling where he could talk. He has the world at his feet, and has his whole life stretched out in front of him. He accepts all new things into his life with ease and excitement, being incredibly adaptable. Aaron is incredibly undisciplined and lacks any form of self-control. He follows his whims and never cares for what comes after, and takes no responsibility for his actions. His also perpetually in that teenager phase of rebellion, against authority and all things controlling. Even going so far as to do things just because he was told he couldn’t. The moment Aaron hears he can’t, he is compelled to, just to prove people wrong.

Aaron is friendly to all. Though this can annoying a great many people, as he treats everyone like a best friend, mooching off them, getting into their personal space, and acting like he knows everything about them. Though even if you try and shake Aaron off, you’ll find you just can’t. He is very happy and upbeat, and you just can’t drag him down, no matter what you try. He is one worry-free guy and not much will ever change that. Always being in a jovial mood, Aaron one for joking around and goofing off. He can turn anything into a joke (even if it’s not a particularly good joke). He is also a little bit of a flirt, though he means nothing by it, he never really flirts to pick up or anything, it’s just his way of injecting a bit of life and humour into his conversations.

Aaron has no boundaries, like none, at all. It doesn’t matter how well he knows someone, he’ll ask all the awkward personal questions no one else will, and will come over to your house in the middle of the night, just to chat. He is the one friends that is just always there and you can’t get rid of, kind of like termites. No subtleties work on this guy, he just breezes right any hints you make about him maybe not eating all the food in your fridge, or laying on your lap, or even just hinting that its getting late and he should go. You end up just having to ask Aaron outright, and even then you have little chance of getting him to leave you alone. It just isn’t in his nature, he needs that social interaction. Aaron also has no filter, he says the first things that come to his mind, and asks the question everyone wants to ask but are socially obliged not to. He never reads the room before speaking his thoughts, which often lands him in awkward situations, even if he doesn’t feel that it’s awkward.

Aaron was born the youngest of four boys, and is bound to take that fact with him everywhere he goes. He is the perfect embodiment of a younger sibling who craves the acceptance and respect of his older siblings, often having people in his life acting as surrogates for his brothers, and having them bear the brunt of his need for approval, idolising them as such. He is also a big follower, always shirking away from leadership and responsibility. Preferring to follow closely behind someone else, eager to please them and idolise them. Hence, Aaron is incredibly impressionable and malleable, always trying to be more like the around him that he follows and looks up to. Though this can sometimes lead to him being taken advantage of, because he is so eager to please that he is very easily persuaded into doing just about anything.

History

Image

Aaron was born in a place far from Lake Grove, under the name Aaron Chavez. His parents were both teachers at the local high school, and were pretty lax on rules for their four sons, letting them roam around town and get up to all sorts of their own. They would just rock up at friends’ and neighbours’ house alike, there were no boundaries or etiquette in his family. Aaron’s parents, fed him, looked after him, made sure he did his homework and all the good parenting stuff, however he spent so much time hanging about the neighbourhood with his brothers that a lot of Aaron’s up bring was left in the hands of his brothers. Which of course meant Aaron spent most his life trying to be like them and impress them. Wanting the spotlight and attention all younger siblings craved in their own way.

Everything was happy and fairly standard to a degree in Aaron’s life, until just after his 19th birthday he was diagnosed with cancer. He doesn’t really remember there being anymore happy memories after that. No more hanging with his brothers around town until dusk, or taking the dirt bikes him and his brother had up to the muddy hills just out of town. He spent the next two years in and out of hospital fighting a losing battle, slowly and painfully getting worse and worse. That was when he met Erik. One night when he was staying in hospital, Erik came and chatted to him for a while. Erik visited Aaron a few more times just to chat before coming into his room one night and turning him into a vampire, saving him from his imminent death.

After that Aaron and Erik had to leave his hometown. Erik had orchestrated a faking of Aaron’s death, and his family could never know that he was still alive or what he had become. That was a year and a half ago, and Aaron hasn’t left Erik’s side. Erik showed him everything about being a vampire, and set him up with a new name and all the important stuff for a modern day vampire. Aaron never left him though, despite Erik’s protests, and has come with him to Lake Grove. Though he wasn’t given a room and is currently sleeping on his couch.

Dialog Hex: #5a1823
October 28 || Nighttime
xxxxxx Ophelia arrived back at Lake Grove at early evening. Her bright red Ferrari came to a halting stop in front of the town’s local hotel. “Basically Four Seasons” she stated with an eye roll. The last time she’d been here she’d compelled a women to take her into her house, but present day that just wouldn’t have worked. So here she was, the girl whom was used to all the glitz and glamour in life, checking into a dump. This better be worth it, Ophelia thought to herself but knowing full and well that she just had to know what was going to happen to this town with the other vampire’s back.

Ophelia herself was a striking difference to the rest of the town, while it all seemed old and rustic, she was young and modern. How ironic, Ophelia thought as she took in the fact that she was 413 years old. Although she looked none of it with her thin legs and bouncy hair, her soul was ancient. Her body was adorned in tight black leather pants, a black tank top and a leather jacket, all completed with curly hair and black pumps. Defiantly up with the times, and the bad girl image.

After checking into the hotel, putting her bags away and applying a bit more red lipstick Ophelia was out the door again, time not to be wasted with such important things going on. It was better to get things done quickly so she could leave as soon as possible.

She found herself in a local bar, ordering tequila on the rocks, slowly sipping it while she looked around. The town had the same appeal as it did back in the day and somehow somethings never changed. Grinning to herself she remembered the good old days, having the wonderful woman that welcomed her into her house for dinner every night, rivalries with the other vampires, tricking the witches into giving her what she wanted, life was perfect here.

Ophelia took this chance to listen in on other conversations, see if she could pick up on something useful to her. She focused her hearing and she tried to distinguish voices. Between the bickering couples and drunk men she heard two girls talking about a party. Perfect, she thought.

After she heard Halloween party Ophelia couldn’t help but smile, her love for costumes running deep. Oh the irony. Swiftly she slipped off the stool and went back home to whip up the perfect costume.

An hour later Ophelia was ready, adorned in a slutty nurses costume with fake blood splotches splattered across her body and 7 inch red high heels. With her dark makeup Ophelia looked equally terrifying and sexy, the main two things she is always trying to achieve.

Getting into her red Ferrari Ophelia skidded off towards the party, arriving fashionably late. Slipping out of her car she looked around at everyone, a smirk growing on her face as she scanned the area searching for familiar faces. It was good to be back.

Willow slid down the banister of the staircase that lead to a tiny door squeezed between the general store and pet store. Her apartment was far from glamorous, nestled a top the old general store. But the rent was cheap and she was able to stay under the radar. She needed a costume for the stupid halloween party. She liked halloween but going around a bunch of retarded towns people that call her a freak isn't always her cup of tea. She skipped down the sidewalk, blasting music in her earbuds as she made her way towards the only costume store in this tiny little town.

Will was just minding her own business as she bounced down the road, her thoughts on the coming events with the return of the vampires when a figure jumped out right in front of her causing her to come to a stop like slamming into a brick wall. Glancing up while she pulled out her earbuds, she prepared to unleash a bunch of wrath upon the person that interrupted her favorite song.
"What the-" She was cut off mid sentence by some of those preachy church people that had a stand out on the sidewalk in front of the town church.

Before she even had the chance to say no thank you or just ignore them and walk around, one woman had already began preaching to her.
"something something Going to hell! Repent!... blah blah Reject this Satanic holiday that draws the Demons of hell to Lake Grove. Vampires! Witches! ABOMINATIONS!" Will was about to just walk around the stupid woman but couldn't help but smirk at the mention of the, most definitely real, abominations. "...Witches you say?" "Oh yes," the woman added in an amused tone that showed she was more than thrilled that Willow was taking and interest in her bogus testimony.

"Lake Grove is home to some of the most powerful witches in the world. Rumor even says that The Phoenix witch resides in this exact town!" She was truly amused at this very oblivious woman, "Phoenix?" A witch that is said to be immortal. They can die but then come back to life shortly after. I strongly advise you keep a wary eye out for those in this town, for they may not be what they seem and take you on the path to hell!" "Witches..." She half snorted as she held out her right hand to catch a green apple that appeared out of nowhere and fell into her hand. Her left hand raising to scratch at the scar that wrapped around her neck, before grinning "Lemme know if you ever find this... Phoenix!" With that she took a bite of the apple while scooting around the woman who's eyes looked like they were about to pop out of her head. Will raised her free hand to wiggle her fingers in a wave, "Ta!"

Finally making her way to the costume store, she slipped through the door and waved at the store owner before rummaging through racks and racks of clothing. She was about to give up when she saw bright red fabric sticking out from a rack towards the back of the store. She couldn't help but laugh out loud at the irony when she pulled out the sexy dress that was very reminiscent of a Phoenix. Without hesitation, she bought the outfit and quickly returned to her apartment to prepare for the evening. The dress was made of red silk with an open back and a slit up the right side that reached all the way up to her hip. The matching red gloves connected to orange mesh, sequin wings that attached to her black choker. Wearing a black venetian masquerade mask and black stilettos, she finished the look off with gold make up and different assortments of feathers throughout her blonde hair. Over all she looked like a sexy fiery goddess... And she loved it!

Will probably would have been on time to the party if she didn't spend so much time staring in the mirror in aw, not even recognizing her own reflection. She arrived just in time to see a woman slip out of a Ferrari dressed as a slutty nurse costume... typical.
"You know... Ferrari's are a rare thing in Lake Grove." She eyed over the car before giving the woman a once over, not very impressed by the typical costume choice. "It'll be easy to find you if you ruffle any feathers." With that Willow twirled past the woman and made her way inside.

Roman could not be happier now that he's free. It didn't take him long at all to begin to reek some havoc and add a good couple dozen names to the ever growing list. "What the hell am I going to do when I run out of skin?" He thought out loud to himself as he looked over his naked body in the mirror after exiting the shower. He didn't bother putting on a towel or covering his form as he walked throughout his house. He noticed the windows were open, but again he did not care. Considering he thought of himself as basic perfection he didn't see why he needed to hide that from the world, plus he simply had no shame.

Rome sighed as he opened the doors to his closet, eyeing over contents of the quite large walk in that held more clothes than most people could wear in a life time. He chuckled at the irony of his own thought. Making his way to his costume section... Yes, he had a section specifically for his costumes, he tried to decide what to wear. He had it narrowed down to 2, almost going with the Count Dracula. He had always had a love for theatrics and what better than dressing up as a vampire, pure perfection. But instead he decided to go with the classier option, one of his favorites... The Phantom of the Opera. It took him longer than most women to get dressed in the simple black suit, red cape and white mask that covered half of his face. He also made sure to slick back his hair and put black makeup under the eye sockets of the mask for the full effect before he left out of his over priced house. Waiting outside in the driveway was a limo that would escort him to the party.

The limo pulled up to the large party just before a Ferrari pulled in behind him, followed by a woman in all red that must have walked... Pity. He stepped out of the limo, closing the door before adjusting the suit coat and cloak upon his shoulders. He couldn't help but smirk towards the woman in red and the woman dressed in a scandalous Nurse costume... He had no arguments with getting on a first name basis with either. Adding them to a mental list of women to keep his eye on, he nodded his head in a polite greeting towards the girls before heading to the party. Being the gentleman that he is, he felt obliged to hold open the door for the ladies,
"Ladies first." Once the blondes had entered, he followed in after them and weaved his way through the crowd towards the bar.

Taking a seat at the bar, he ordered a scotch on the rocks before sitting back and taking in the view of the large party. Making sure to glance at every being in the room, he began to make a tally of the people of interest and those that he had no desire of even crossing paths with. One thing he knew for sure... That tonight he would not be leaving alone, or hungry.

Aaron cursed out loud as his character died the video game was playing. He had been playing video games for the last couple hours, since he had woken up to find Erik gone and was filling time until he got back. Though as with most things Aaron did, he wasn’t just sitting on the couch playing video games. He was up on his knees, and he ducked and bobbed up and swayed side to side, moving with his character. He also had his tongue out in concentration. His family always used to make fun of his habit of sticking his tongue out when he was concentrating on something.

Right when Aaron died in his game again, Erik came strolling through the door. “Hey man, where you been?” Aaron asked excitedly as he abandoned his game and bounced over to Erik. Much like a dog acts when their owner returns home. “I've just been playing games.”

“Does it matter?” Erik replied uncaringly as he walked past Aaron, “I don’t have to tell you everything I do, and you really don't have to tell me everything you do.” Aaron tsked his tongue and crossed his arms but he wasn’t hurt by Erik’s nature, Aarons pretty much expected that response. He also knew when Erik had been anyway. The two of them had been staying in a hotel room for the last month or so, but apparently when Erik had lived in Lake Grove previously he had bought a house, he just couldn’t remember where it was. So Erik pretty much spent a good few hours every day since they got here just wandering the streets of Lake Grove looking for this house. From what Aaron could tell from his time living with Erik, this was a pretty common occurrence for the guy.

“I got you blood,” Erik said to Aaron pulling out a blood bag and putting it in the fridge. Aaron didn’t know where Erik got the blood that he needed, but he was also not keen to ask. As they say, ignorance is bliss. Though he did know the Erik had no problems with feeding off and killing humans. Aaron on the other hand couldn’t dream of actually killing a human, not yet at least.

Aaron beamed, “Thanks man.” He said following Erik into the kitchen.

“You could thank me by cleaning up your shit,” Erik replied motioning to the mess all around the kitchen before pouring himself a drink of an alcoholic nature and walking out of the kitchen. Aaron just laughed at the mess he had made throughout the kitchen. Yesterday he had forgotten about the whole vampire thing and had made himself a cheese toastie, which was still sitting on the bench cold and uneaten. The mess from making it much wider spread that it should be. “-And putting a shirt one,” Erik added, noting the fact that Aaron was shirtless, which was a frequent occurrence. Erik had more than once stated they he didn’t believe Aaron even owned a shirt.

Aaron followed Erik out of the kitchen. “So what are we doing tonight?” He asked searchingly.

“I’m going to this big Halloween party the town in having. I don’t know, and don’t care what you do.”

Aaron’s much drop and his eyes went wide in hurt. He knew that Erik liked to act like he didn’t care, but this really hurt. He knew how much Aaron loved parties. “-And, you didn’t tell me about this?”

Erik sighed and took a large mouthful of his drink. “Fine, come if you want, I don’t care.” The Erik turned and went into the hotel room’s one bedroom. A bedroom he had claimed for himself and left Aaron the couch. Aaron still doesn’t understand why they couldn’t have just gotten a two bedroom hotel room, he’d checked and they were available here. A second later Aaron heard the shower start. Grinning Aaron went to start searching through his bags to find something he could wear.

An hour and a half later the two of them were finally ready to go. Aaron had of course gotten ready in fifteen minutes, and spent the rest of the time waiting for Erik, like usual. It was that Erik took a long time getting ready or putting effort into how he looked. It was more that he was just very slow, never in a real rush. Add in some lay around time, and Erik always took ages to do anything.

“I can’t believe you’re not even dressed up a little,” Aaron moaned as the two of them arrived at the party, having walked the couple of blocks it was from their hotel room. After Aaron had got his costume on and waited around for Erik, he was more than a little disheartened to find Erik wasn’t planning on wearing a costume. Instead just wearing his usual attire.

“I can’t believe you are.” Erik replied sarcastically, as he walked into the party, leaving Aaron behind. Aaron had chosen to dress up like a soccer player, which was about the only thing he could put together with the clothes he already had, considering how much notice Erik had given him. He had the shirt and shorts, and was accurate down to the runners and shin guards. Aaron followed Erik into the party, but found Erik had already disappeared. Aaron didn’t care though, he was grinning from ear to ear at the sight of all the people around. He really did love parties and people.

Then he spotted who he thought was Leonora across the room and practically ran across to her. Aaron hadn’t been in town long, but she had been one of the people the he had instantly bonded with. Though Aaron had a long list of people he believed he had instantly bonded with, due to his nature to find a friend in everyone, no matter how well he knew them. “Hey!” He beamed as he wrapped her in a hug, noting the silver flapper dress she was wearing. Then after releasing her stayed awfully close leaning on her a bit, he was never one for giving people their personal space. “So is that family of yours here? You have talked about them so much I was looking forward to meeting them.” He looked out across the party looking for her family, even though he had no clue what they even looked like.

Erik frowned as he entered the party and saw everyone dressed up. He was never going to dress up, but now he felt like he should at least try to stay a bit more anonymous. So he picked up a black masquerade mask that someone had left on a table and put it on. Erik got himself a drink from the bar and immediately headed for outside, where he could light up a smoke in peace. He’d been to plenty of parties very similar to this one, in very similar small towns. So he didn’t care much for getting involved. Though he wasn’t against finding a girl to have a little fun with tonight.

Taking a mouthful of his drink, on his way outside he noticed a girl in a very fiery outfit. Smiling to himself he wandered over to her. He looked her over very obviously. “So, I have to ask, what exactly you are, I know its fire…” He trailed off and gave her a lazy half-hearted smile. ”Something…”

The crowd really was vibrant. Despite the dim lighting of the room, the pairing of Victoria's vampire-infused vision and the vivid costumes of those around her ensured that to her, the room was bright with color.
As her eyes glazed over the room and its occupants, she took another sip from her glass, and felt herself -dare she say it?- enjoying herself a little. Even with no one to talk to, the general feeling of jubilation that echoed through the building felt near infectious, and the wide array of costumes did two things: one, provided a source of entertainment, and two, helped Victoria to understand the people hiding beneath them.
It's odd. Costumes are typically considered a way to hide one's true self, but really, one often gave oneself away through their choice of guise. People had the tendency to hide themselves the most successfully when they were bare-faced and plain. When they were among friends and family. When they were surrounded by the people they didn't want to look bad in front of. Masks gave an excuse to be cruel, wicked, without facing consequences. Just ask any bullying internet 'troll', hidden behind a username.
So rather than approaching people, Victoria languidly looked over the witches, mermaids, and Catwoman's, taking in the costumes and then examining the people underneath. A smirk flickered to lips as she caught a glimpse of a blonde nurse reaching out to touch the back of a Zorro, and was about to deduce their relationship when someone's arms wrapped around her.

The arms tightened, and the scent of lavender trembled on their silken sleeves. The voice was a soft, humored whisper, dusted by affection. "Hello, beautiful. You look lonely. How about a dance?"
"Hey!"

The image was shattered by another voice, this one loud and cheerful. Instinctively, Victoria whipped around, whirling out of his embrace as though his touch had burned her.
"So is that family of yours here? You have talked about them so much I was looking forward to meeting them."
It took Victoria a second to take in his words, and for that brief moment, she looked at him incredulously, wondering who on earth he was, and what the hell he was talking about. Then it occurred to her that this was yet another one of her doppelgangers friends. Damn it. This is going to get old, really fast.
Her expression of surprise melted into a smile, and she spoke in an equally happy, honey-ish tone. "Oh, hey. Geez, you scared me!" In response to his query about her family, she shrugged. "No, sorry. They didn't want to come." She made a face, as though this was of huge annoyance, and not a lie spun in the moment. "Uh, can you excuse me a sec?" She bit her lip in supposed embarrassment, forming a 'T' with her hands before quickly disappearing into the crowd, increasing her pace once out of sight.
She made it to a free space, and quickly downed the rest of her drink. She needed more. Stat. She thought back to the image, the one that had appeared in her psyche, unannounced and unwelcome, when that moron had hugged her. Oh! Hi, inner demons. Long time, no see.
Even in her head, her thoughts were dripping with sarcasm.
Victoria switched her empty glass with a full one, and sighed as she drank some of the liquid inside. A woman passed by, wearing a pearl-adorned mask, and Victoria pondered the decision.
Just as she decided that she'd 'borrow' one from one of the other guests, a voice broke her inner thoughts.
"Love the costume."
He was handsome, Victoria had to give him that. And she had promised herself that she'd wind down a little for a change. She offered him a small smile, pointedly looking him over as he had her, noticing that he was himself, rather costume-less.
"I'm afraid I can't say the same."

“Oh, hey. Geez, you scared me!” The girl Aaron thought was Leonora said before shrugging. “No, sorry. They didn’t want to come,” She looked annoyed that they had not come.

“Oh, that sucks,” Aaron replied feeling bumbed, even pouting a little like a child who had been told he could have a second bowl of ice-cream. Leonora had told him all about her sisters and he had been looking forward to meeting them. “Oh well, I suppose I’ll just have to see them another time.” Aaron grinned optimistically.

“Uh, can you excuse me a sec?” She said, in a moment of embarrassment before she took off quickly. Leaving Aaron alone and not sure what just happened.

“Oh, um, yeah sure,” He said to her retreating figure. “I suppose I’ll catch up with you later then,” he mumbled to the empty space where she had been standing, whilst he was frowning slightly. He could be just over thinking things, but it kind of felt like she didn’t want to hang out with him. He just shrugged his shoulders and shook off his frown. His natural grin reappearing. Aaron wasn’t one to get overly phased by things for very long.

He then walked off, wandering around the party, with a little happy bounce in his step, and a wide toothy smile. He was just soaking up the jovial vibe of the place, parties with lots of people around were he place. He bumped into a few different people he had met around town in the week prior. Giving them enthusiastic greetings. Then he saw Eve hanging out alone by the bar. It probably wasn’t possible with his smile got wider and he all but ran over to her.

“Evie!” He said giving her a probably too enthusiastic and rough hug. Resulting in him kind of roughly bumping a brunette man with glasses who was standing against the bar next to Eve. Aaron put his arms up the air in a sign of apology, “Sorry man, my bad.” Aaron was just fortunate he hadn’t cause the man to spill his glass of brandy.

Then Aaron turned back to Eve. Erik had already known Eve. Apparently from what Aaron could tell it was a vampire thing, you kind of just run into each other all over, just being acquaintances. When Aaron met Eve though they just kind of hit it off, you know, those instant friend connections. Of course Aaron seemed to feel he had a lot of instant fried connections. Eve was like the older sister he never had. Plus she always had such interesting historical stories. Erik never talked about the past the way she did. Aaron completely looked up to her. “How have you been!”

“Oh, you mobster outfit is wicked,” He said grinning excitably. Of course Eve had a cool outfit choice, Aaron thought pretty much everything she did was totally cool. Of course in his eyes, when you were a couple hundred year old vampire, it was hard not to be cool. Especially considering, only two years ago, all this stuff to Aaron was only things he would read about in fantasy novels. Well, he doesn’t read, so more like fantasy movies, but you get the point. “You even have the cigar and everything!”
