Name: Faquel Voct Tendrancy

Age: 11

Gender: Male

Race: Angel

Personality: As all youth, Faquel is quiet oblivious to almost everything and can never stop asking questions, which drives most people around him crazy. Around his own kind, its near impossible to close his mouth for a second. However, but him around people of a completely different race and he'll be lost for words. He still shares his kind's shyness, but his is slightly more extreme. Meaning, if you stuck Faquel in one of the squares of a human village, he'd most likely have a panic attack. Breaking through to him to find whats under the surface isn't nessecary, you only have to spend about 5 minutes with him, then his curiosity takes over. As said before, be prepared for an onslaughter of questions. In general, Faquel radiates a sort of quiet kindness bout him, as hard as it is to believe. He's a pacafist of sorts, rather wanting to nagotiate a situation than to handle it with brute force. But just because he likes talking over fighting doesn't mean he doesn't know HOW to fight. After being abandoned by his parents, Faquel had to learn how to defend himself and he's become quiet handy with a knife, dagger, or any sort of short sword.

Appearance: Faquel stands at 4 feet and three inches, a sort of slimness overlaying his features. His arms and legs are slightly long than most children his age, extending his reach to where his hands hang just below his hips and letting his legs add the three inches to his height. Many of his features in his chest and shoulders are defined by his bones, for there isn't even a hint of fat on his fragile body. Muscle wise, Faquel isn't weak but not really strong. In other words, if he hit you, it wouldn't do much. Faquel's face is the most notable thing about him. His small, sharp nose and slightly pointed ears stick out from the rest of his features. His checks seem hollow due to his very slim build, and his neck is tin like the rest of his limbs. Faquel's hair is a copper tinted color, an unusual color, since most of his race carries colors of silver, gold, or steel. His eyes are almost the same color of his hair, but instead a slightly deeper color, containing the same sharp look as the rest of his face. His Marking covers the left side of his face, centering on his temple and spreading out in long tendrils. Faquel's wings are made of long, thin feathers ranging from grey to black. Just like his arms and legs, the actual apendages of his wings are very skinny but are completely made of muscle around the bone, allowing him to glide for long distances or carry his body weight straight up about thirty feet before becoming exhausted.

History: Faquel was like anyother angel child. He played. He cryed. He asked questions. There wasn't much else to do in his small existence in the world. Faquel's parents and himself lived in a with a small group of others in a mountian range near Groaknia. The grouping of angels never had much contact to many other races, including other angels outside the range of their mountians. However, many years before Faquel's birth, a family of Chaotic Wraiths attacked the angels in on their mountian, enraged by a group of humans that had destroyed their nests nearby. The angels were virtually defenseless at this sudden asseult, the Wraiths slaughtering quite a few before they recovered from their rage and retreated. This had left a deep hatred of dragons in general for them, so you can understand why Faquel's parents were dismayed when he was "Marked" at birth.

Faquel was not alive at the time the dragons attack, so he didn't share the hatred of them form his people. This lead him to ask, as he was growing up, why his mother always rapped a bandage around the left side his face, covering the black mark the spread across it like the plauge. His mother, not having the heart to tell him the truth, told him it was so the other children would treat him normally, but the bandage itself still caused the others to snicker at him behind his back. One day, one of Faquel's friends demanded to know what was under his bandage. Faquel stated that it was because his face had a never healing wound. This sparked a round of argueing and shouting until someone gripped Faquel's bandage and ripped it from his face. Three days later, Faquel was found walking from his only home, onlookers watching him go with glares glued to the face and hatred burning in their eyes. Faquel's parents weeped at his going, saying the never wished that this would befall him.

Did they have a choice? Did he EVER have a choice? It wasn't like he could have choose weither or not to have the Mark. It was his destiny, and it wasn't going to change.

Bonded: To be filled...

Faquel gave a low moan of pain as he dragged himself to sit against the rough bark of a nearby tree trunk. Leaves, dirt and gravel clung to his cloths, making him shift repaetedly to get comfortable, if you even could with an arrow piercing your wing. Early that day, he had made the mistake of gliding over Richaaca to avoid being delayed in town. Someone had apparently gotten the image of an angel trophy mounted on their wall and shot an arrow at him. Having not seen it coming, the arrow struck cleanly into the muscle of his left wing, causing him to spiral out of control into the outskirts of Chirang Forest. With only one functioning wing and nearly drowning in pain from the crash, Faquel had fleed into the forest before whoever shot him came looking for him.

Now, certain that he'd lost his hunter, Faquel's thin chest rose and fell, his mind attempting to recover from his last few exhausting hours. In truth, his entire journey to this very place had been mentally and physically exhausting, sleeping on nothing but cold hard earth and eatting whatever he could scavange. Only eleven years old and unuse to such conditions, Faquel was still going thanks to complete mental determination. Being young didn't mean he could apply himself. His stomach roared loudly, complaining about the lack of food.

"Don't growl at me. Not my fault the supplies only lasted me three days," Faquel said, but only received another growl in return.

Biting his lower lip, Faquel lifted himself from his seat, digging into his lip until it began bleeding from the pain radiating in his wing. Blood was still oozing out around the arrow and even the slightest movement reduced him to writhering on the forest floor in sheer pain. Once Faquel was to his feet, he pulled out a crumbled map from a pocket in his tunic, smoothing it out until it was readable.

So close. Probably only a short walk from here...hopefully theres someone there who can takes this stupid arrow out.., he thought dimly, folding it up hurriedly.

Faquel's foot steps echoed around him as he came before the large mouth of the Great Dragon's Cave. A trail of blood droplets fell from his now wing as it dragged across the rocky ground. The color was beginning to drain from his his face and his breathing was becoming ragged. He blinked several times before his deep copper eyes became use to the lack of light around him. Limping a couple more feet, Faquel dropped himself next to a large boulder.

Nearby, a rawsain was sitting atop a rock, speaking to something within the cave. Possibly the Great Dragon? It didn't matter at the moment. What mattered was getting help before he went unconsious.

"H-hey...wh-whoever you are, please, I need h-help..." Faquel called out faintly, trying his best to keep himself awake. His left wing lay across the ground at an odd angle, all feeling gone across it's length, the arrow still piercing it.

Aquaea was just gauging the Great Dragon's giant face for a reaction when she heard something - footsteps to be exact. She glanced up to see who it was, expecting some run-of-the-mill fool who thought he was hot stuff just because he got lucky and became Marked. To her surprise, however, she found the one thing she wasn't expecting - a young boy, apparently an Angel, with a broken wing pierced all the way through by a hunter's arrow. The young hero knew full well that she probably wouldn't get a scrap of gratitude for what she was about to do, but she could not simply leave the boy in this state. He needed her help, and she was not one to refuse his plea. No, she was just the opposite. Even if she knew it would kill her in the end, she was full aware of her calling.

She was a hero.

Leaping down from the rock outcropping, she landed softly next to the fallen boy. Her knowledge of medicine was sketchy at best - given that most of it was either acquired from being injured herself, for from Tirris' rather laissez-faire approach, which had in turn been taught to her. Still, she did know a few things, and, in fact, her own unique ability would be of great use to her in treating this boy's injury.

Quickly, she called forth some water from the air. Using her control over hydrogen bonds, she separated some of the molecules into their component parts, and then put them back together as Hydrogen Peroxide (H202). The concentration was approximately 20% - perfect for the treatment of wounds.

"Stay still," Aquaea directed. "This is going to hurt quite a bit, but if you move, you'll risk doing further damage to your wing. As of now, the arrow has pierced through some of your muscles, but hasn't damaged the bone, aside from bending it. I can sew your wing back together, but, unfortunately, I don't have any herbs on hand to reduce the pain. So be strong, and stay still. If you need to vent in some way, then bite down on this." The hero's voice was quiet, cool, and calculated, but there was an unmistakable undertone of concern, and a tone of apology. This was her true self, the face of kindness she tried to hide behind a wall of stoic indifference. As she spoke, she generated some more water, concentrating it into a small, hard crystal, and let it float over toward Faquel. She waited a moment for her command to sink in, and then set to work. She let some of her newly-created hydrogen peroxide flow down into the wound, bending it through the cracks around the edges of the arrow. This would clean the wound, and simultaneously allow her to shield his delicate muscle fibers and hollowed wing-bones from damage by the arrow as she pulled it out. Concentrating the water for his protection, she had no doubt that the chemicals she had dribbled into his wound were already beginning to sting. They would kill the pain in the long run, however, which was the best she could do. Taking hold of the arrow, she gave him a warning glance.

"Here goes. Don't move, no matter what," She commanded again. Once more, she waited a moment for her words to be understood. Then, as swiftly as she could, using her water inside the wound to speed the process along, she slid out the arrow from the wound, readying her ears for the cries of agony she expected to hear. Immediately after the projectile was removed, she threw it aside, and poured the remaining hydrogen peroxide into the wound, hoping to clean it out as swiftly as possible. Simultaneously, she used the water already inside the wound to gently force the dislocated bone back into place, and to stitch the muscles back together with thin strands of solidified water. Once her chemicals were inside the injury, she took her next step - tightening the bonds between the individual molecules of water making up the boy's blood, she greatly hasted along the coagulation process, sealing the wound first with an almost instantly generated scab, then with a bandage made from the loose cloth band she wore around her left arm. Tying this tightly over the wound, winding it under his feathers, then back over the top of his wing, she finished it off by creating a makeshift splint from hardened water. It would be a pain to maintain control over, but it was the best thing she had on hand at the moment.

She sucked in her breath, trying to make up for that she'd lost expending so much energy without preparation. Artificially inducing complex chemical reactions was difficult if you weren't in the mindset for it, and she most definitely was not at the moment. She looked up, hoping against hope that the boy had passed out from agony already - she didn't want him to have suffered through having a bone forced back into place and his muscles sewn back together after being sundered apart, not to mention having an arrow ripped out of his flesh. She had been as gentle as she could with him, but she doubted it made much of a difference in regards to the pain.

Hearing his plea, the rawsain turned in Faquel's direction. Taking in his sorry state in moments, she leaped from her perch to his side. Having little knowledge of rawsains, it surprised Faquel when she summoned water out of thin air, focusing on it for a few seconds before returning her attention to him.

"Stay still," she ordered,"This is going to hurt quite a bit, but if you move, you'll risk doing further damage to your wing. As of now, the arrow has pierced through some of your muscles, but hasn't damaged the bone, aside from bending it. I can sew your wing back together, but, unfortunately, I don't have any herbs on hand to reduce the pain. So be strong, and stay still. If you need to vent in some way, then bite down on this."

Even in such a delicate situation, she sounded calm and completely in control and spoke in a slightly calculating manner, as if she knew what she was doing. She even had a hint of apology in her voice, as if she was blaming herself for not being able to reduce the pain. It had been weeks since such a tone of kindness and concern had been shown to him.

Bracing himself, Faquel sucking in as much air into his lungs as they would allow, using an old trick his mother had taught him, and bit down. Above him, the rawsain summoned more water, concentrating it into a crystal that floated to him. Moments later, a stinging sensation flared from the wound in Faquel's wing, causing him to dig his fingers into the earth he layed on. He never knew water could sting so much!

Again, she spoke,"Here goes. Don't move, no matter what."

Exhaling, Faquel sucked in another lung full of air. He barely had time to finish inhaling before an incredibly intense pain exploded from his wound. Without the energy to scream, only a hollow gasp left Faquel's lips, emptying his in held breath. However, it was over as soon had begun, only a dull throbing replacing the intense pain he had felt. He spotted the arrow, now removed from his wing, get tossed to the side as she focused on relocating the bone in his wing and sealing the wound. She removed a losose cloth from her left arm and used it to bandage the wound. Next, with more water, she created a makeshift splint, keeping his wing in place. A few moments later, the rawsain looked up, probably checking to see if he had gone unconsious from the operation.

Slowly, Faquel sat up, careful as to not move his wing about. With the arrow removed, the rain he had felt before was greatly reduced and he was no longer bleeding to death.

Quietly, in almost a whisper, he said,"T-Thank you so much. It f-feels much better." Gathering his courage, he added,"I-Is it ok-k-kay if I know your n-name?"

"Oh... you're still awake. I'm sorry to see that. It must have been rather painful," Aquaea said apologetically, bluntly honest. She had done what she could, but... Even still, he had been forced to suffer through all that. She couldn't forgive whoever had shot this boy. Her goal in life was to prevent everyone she could from having to experience the same kind of pain she had been forced to undergo in her youth. Yet here she was, causing that same pain to a youth as innocent and helpless as she had been in the time of her own tortures. Even if it was done in the name of the greater good of healing the boy's wound, could she still just accept this with a clean conscience?

Yes, she had to. Many people suffered in the name of the greater good, just as she herself was forced to suffer to protect people. Expecting to be able to save everyone from all pain in the world was an entirely unreasonable goal, like trying to catch and hold the sun in one's hand, or to light the world with a single candle. No one, not even a so-called hero, could accomplish this goal. She would just have to do the best she could, which is what she had done. After all, sometimes someone had to suffer for the sake of lessening the pain in the end. This was just the way of things.

"My name is Aquaea," She answered. "As for helping you, it was nothing to thank me for. Just relax for a while and don't use that wing, and you should be fine," She said coolly, standing up and dusting off her legs. "And you are...?"

Larissa turned as the girl with black and white hair went to aid an angel. She paused, quietly watching them. Part of her wanted to go to the boy and ask him if he knew her father, the other part of her wanted to quietly stand back and allow the other girl to continue helping him. Chewing her lip, she shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she weighed her options. She decided to introduce herself first, then later ask if he had ever heard other her father. Daniel Finnow. When she had left her home, the man that had cared for her gave her his name. That was all. She had her mothers last name for her whole life and didn't want to change it- after all, he probably had no idea she existed.

Exhaling deeply, she glanced inside the caves and noticed the eggs moving slightly, and making faint noises. "It's almost time, isn't it?" she whispered to them, figuring her gentle wind-chime voice would be too soft for them too hear. The siren/angel mix slowly approuched the other girl and the injured angel. As she came closer, a werewolf walked up to them and introduced himself. She looked over him warily for a moment, and stood next to the angel. Larissa rested her long metallic white braid over when shoulder and gave the others a soft smile. "Seems like you've taken quiet the hit. I'm Larissa." she paused warily for a moment before going on, "An angel/siren cross." her voice rang out soothingly, like the soft pealing of bells. closing her eyes, she crossed her fingers and hoped they wouldn't make fun of her. As a child, she didn't have many friends. She was different- strange. Very easily she could have convinced them, only with a couple notes from a song, but she thought that was cheating.

"W-Well, I'm-" Faquel began, but stopped another figure walked towards them.

"Seems like you've taken quiet a hit. I'm Larissa." She paused,"An angel/siren cross."

The mutt's appearance was so sudden that Faquel was at a lost for words. For a few moments, he thought he was looking at another angel, with her metallic hair. But she lacked the wings and her voice sounded more like a song. Looking her up and down, Faquel couldn't help notcing how pretty she was. Reminded him of his mother.

Gulping audibly, Faquel squeaked,"I-I'm Faquel. F-Faquel Voct T-Tendrancy."

Finished introducing, Faquel rose to his feet shakily, keeping a hand on the large stone near him to steady himself. Even with Aquaea's treatment, Faquel still felt very weak, but just had enough energy to stand. The makeshift splint strapped to his wing held firmly.

"W-Well, since I'm able to w-walk, c-can we go somewhere s-slightly darker? The l-light is too much at the m-moment."

"What, did someone open a can of Marked somewhere when I wasn't looking?" Aquaea snarked, glancing up at the wolf and the newly-arrived mutt with a cold, analytical eye. Her voice was emotionless and impassive, and she didn't seem to care much about their arrival or their words at all. Despite this, however, she still extended her hands to support Faquel as he rose.

"Well, Faquel, seems you're alive, so let's head further inside the cave, if the light is that much of a problem," The hero offered, supporting the young angel helpfully. Although she didn't make an offer to aid him in walking, it was fully implied in her manner, although her demeanor still remained completely stoic - a cold, unreadable mask.

As the hero prepared to help the angel move into the cave, she glanced down at him, giving a slightly curious look.

"So... how exactly did you get that arrow in your wing?" She asked coolly. Whatever tone of concern might have inhabited her voice was masked by her emotionless facade.

Larissa gave the angel a comforting smile as he introduced himself. As he stood as was about to help him, but the girl with black and white hair gave him her support first. She stood close to his other side, in case he needed any more help. Larissa chewed her lip, trying to work up enough courage to ask him if he knew her father. But she was scared of what the answer might be.
When the other girl spoke, she looked over at her. Her tone was cold, and emotionless as it had been when she made the comment about opening a can of marked. Her ocean blue eyes focused on her, trying to sense even the slightest hint of emotion. She could tell she was completely uncaring, because she had helped the injured angel. When they stopped in the cave, Larissa let out a deep breath before asking very gently, "Do you live in town with other angels?". She knew nothing about angels. Heck, they could live on clouds and she would have no idea. Noticing a few sounds coming out of the eggs, she looked over at them. A couple of them where shaking a little, trying to claw their way out. "Look, I think very soon they will be hatching." she told the two, her musical voice ringing out softly in the cave.

The Great Dragon stood to the side as the Angel with the broken wing stumbled in. Aquaea was handling it.... There was no reason for him to get involved. Besides, his large claws were useless when it came to most medical procedures. However, despite making no move to help, anger brewed in his golden eyes. Protecting the children was his job, and already one had been harmed. But then again, he could not very well search out whoever had shot the arrow. It had happened; he could do nothing about it now. The sharp anger faded, and he gave an inward sigh.

Stepping forward to greet the newest Marked, the Great Dragon lowered his head so his eye was almost on level with the Angel, speaking in a quiet, concerned tone. At least, it was quiet for him, though honestly it was rather loud. "I am sorry for your trouble, Marked One." Then, raising his head again, he eyed the group in whole with a smile. "Now, please come see the eggs. They have been waiting to meet you all."

Larissa took a couple steps back as the great dragon approached them. She was rather small in general, not quiet even 5 feet tall, and the dragon's large size scared her a little bit. But he seemed to mean no harm, so she relaxed a little. Her clear blue eyes looked over him curiously, as a small smile found it's way to her lips. It's was a rather interesting sight, this menacing dragon lowaring it's head and speaking to an injured angel so gently.
When he said that they could see they eggs, she kneeled down to the egg that was closest to them. "Hello." she said gently, her voice taking on a soothing tone. She moved her hand towards the egg, her fingertips just barely caressing the shell. "Can they hear or see anything in there?" she asked the great dragon, with a little smile.

Zurafina curtseyed lowly to the Great Dragon and said "Well met." She didn't bother stating her name, and instead entered the large cave confidently. Suddenly the Half-Blood turned on her and yelled. He was not very happy at what she had done, but was there anything really wrong with her actions? He had tried the same thing on her, and the only difference was that she had not failed. Not knowing how to respond to his heated anger, she just stared at him blankly for a few seconds. "Let's not dwell on past actions." She ended up saying softly, batting her eyes and pouring a little sweetness and allure into her voice. Hopefully that would calm him down.
She then returned her attention to the cave, taking in all that was around her. There were eight eggs, but not six other figures. There was a tall, black haired man near the eggs, and close by him was a pretty girl with white hair. An angel boy stood not too far away, one of his wings was wrapped and looked off. The last person present was a girl about her own age, with unique hair that was coloured both black and white. This was certainly something. She had never been around this many species at once. In fact, she had never met a dragon, werewolf, or an angel before. She inspected each person carefully, taking in what information she viewed as valuable and stored it away.

Now that she was here she was impatient, even though she knew she shouldn't be. Who knows how long the other's had waited? She suddenly wished for the last two to arrive, and then everything could get started. The dragons. She tentatively walked up to the eggs, keeping a little distance between her and the man with the black hair and the girl with the white hair. Her eyes scanned over each egg and she felt her curiosity grow. Which one would choose her? She couldn't help but let out a gentle "Hello." To all the eggs assembled, her blood pumping, knowing they could hear her, and also hearing them as they moved about.

Upon being lead into the Great Dragon's Cave by Aquaea, Faquel's mind blurred after meeting the massive creature himself. Indeed, the encounter had caused him to retreat behind his "hero" merely out of shyness, but the blending of hellos and new faces kept his mind off the dull pain in his injured wing. Faquel was about to make his way to somewhere less crowded when the Great Dragon announced that all the marked had gathered and it was time to watch them hatch!

The moment of truth. I finally meet the reason why I have this mark on my face. I wonder which one is mine? What kind of dragon will it be? Is it a girl? A boy? Gah, I'd wish they'd just hatch! Question after question amassed in Faquel's mind as he, along with the others, watched the eggs intently.

So, Aquaea thought. They're finally hatching. She watched as several of the young dragons burst forth from their eggs, catching their first sight of the world. Several scampered immediately over to their prospective partners and began asking them questions. While she wasn't particularly ecstatic to be a dragon rider, she was curious to see who exactly her new annoyance would be.

Idly, she noted the young Angel whose wing she had healed cowering behind her. She supported him with an arm on his shoulder, giving him a reassuring pat. Doubtless, he was still in a great fright and confusion after sustaining such an agonizing injury. He still needed her help, so until she could safely distance herself from him, she supposed she had no choice but to provide that assistance he so needed.

"Relax," She said to Faquel, as though reading his mind. "There's no need to worry pointlessly over what your Bonded Dragon will be. We'll have all our questions answered in a few moments, so there's no need to speculate."

Najade clawed at the crack, then smashed against the shell again. The pale, iridescent yolk that had sustained him through the two years of his life in the egg spilled onto the ground as the egg shattered, and the little serpent fell unceremoniously to the floor, covered with shards of glass-like eggshell. Huh. Well, that could have gone better....

Standing up and shaking himself off, the green dragon started forward, but immediately ran into the problem of figuring out which leg went first. In the process of looking back at his feet to make sure he was walking correctly, he somehow got his snakelike body turned into a 'U' shape. Of course, this meant he was really going to opposite direction he wanted to go.

Fortunately, Najade realized this after a few moments, and got himself turned around. Trying to pretend nothing had happened, he half scampered, half stumbled towards the group of two-legs, stopping to study them all with interest before drawing close. So.... Which one would be his bonded.....

The first two-legs that caught his eye was the little winged one. What odd wings.... More like Inanna's than his other brothers and sister's batlike wings. They looked soft.... And, being the flightless dragon he was, he had always been somewhat fascinated about what flight looked like. He had heard of it, of course. When he was young and his parents were transporting him here, he had even caught glimpses of flying creatures.

Deciding that he would talk to this winged twolegs, he scrambled in that direction, short legs working hard to propel him. Stopping at the two-legs feet, he looked up at him and grinned widely. "Hi! You fly?"

Faquel grinned along with Aquaea when the tiny blue shape broke free from it's egg, though his smile lessened somewhat when it made it's way to Aquaea, not him. After freeing itself, it walked towards her with such pride and dignity that Faquel had to blow bubbles in order to keep the chuckles amassing within him from bursting forth. He couldn't help admiring the small dragon's personality, even if it was about a few feet tall.

"You" A femenine voice, scratched and lowly pitched, escaped from the small creature, though Faquel had guessed it was a scaled horse from her sleek shape. The scaled horse peered around the room for a moment, running her eyes over the other Marked before turning her attention back to Aquaea. Yes, I want you. Tell me a name and what are you?" After her question, she sat on her haunches and curled her tail around her legs. A near perfect copy of the Great Dragon in the background.

So, Aquaea and her Bonded struck up a conversation, Faquel standing by in a distracted air as he gazed around the room. The other dragons that had hatched had already made their way to other Marked and none of the other eggs have hatched yet. Maybe his bonded was in one of the unhatched eggs, or even one of the hatchlings found that they didn't like who they spoke to and moved on to him. Faquel honestly couldn't tell.

Deep in thought, however, he had neglated to spot the green serpent dragon making a beeline directly towards him until a high pitched "Hi! You fly?" cut through his thoughts. The question was so sudden and so near that Faquel nearly landed on the poor thing as he sprung into the air. Coming down caused his teeth to rattle and jarred his injured wing. Taking in a sharp breath, the Angel glanced around until his eyes rested upon the small serpent dragon at his feet.

The high pitched voice clearly belong to the hatchling before him and announced him as male. He was actually a very interesting looking dragon, with his wedge shaped scales like green glass, creating an interesting sight with the skin underneath. He almost looked slightly transparent, the skeletal structure running through his foot long body giving off a fragile appearance to Faquel. Bright, neon green eyes, rimmed by blue scales, stared up at him, a large grin revealing the hatcling's sharp white teeth. Faquel had never seen a dragon smile before.

"U-Um...yes. I fly." Faquel said uncertainly, still recovering from the sudden appearance. Carefully, he moved his left wing to show the makeshift splint and bandage holding it in place. "But I won't be able to any time soon until this heals. An arrow pierced my muscles."

"Oh...." Najade's pupils widened as he looked at the wound. Being so young and protected until now by his comfortable little egg, he wasn't exactly sure what effect the 'arrow' had on the flying two-legs. He honestly didn't even know what pain or hurt was. But if something kept a winged creature from flying, it had to be pretty bad, right?

After a moment of thought along this path, he brought his attention back to the two-legs. "What a arrow?" He knew what muscle was, and he knew what pierce was, or he at least had a general idea of what those two things were, but the word arrow was completely new and strange. However, he had already decided that these arrow things were no good whatsoever. He would be careful to keep away from them; they sounded very aggressive and dangerous. They must fly, too, to catch a flying creature and injure them like they had this two legs... Flying, dangerous, and aggressive. Very frightening indeed.

"And your name. What your name?" Najade suddenly realized that it might be beneficial to have a title to attach to this twolegs. Standing up on his back two pairs of legs, he scratched at his stomach with the other four clawed paws as he looked earnestly up at the copper haired two-legs.

Ryuu watched all the hatchlings, chewing on his upper lip in a nervous manner. Would any of the hatchlings choose him? Did he want any of the hatchlings to choose him? It was all very nervewracking. The werepup knelt on the floor and chewed on one of his fingers as he thought.

"Oh...." Gasped the serpent hatchling, he's large eyes growing ever wider. The effect was so comical that Faquel bursted out laughing until tears rolled down his cheeks, crying between fits of laughter from tensing his wings. Breathing deeply, he regained his composure, a small smile remaining on his sharp features. Returning his attention to his little friend, he seemed to be deep in thought until his bright neon eyes returned back to him.

"What a arrow?"

This innocent, honest question was so out-of-the-blue that Faquel was rendered dumbstruck. He knew what an arrow was, he had one stuck through his wing only hours ago! But, to see this hatchling, looking at him as if he held all the answers, humbled him. Scratching his temple beneath his copper hair, Faquel formed his reply.

"Well, an arrow is a weapon shot from a bow, a curved piece of strong wood with a string attached to both ends. The arrow itself has a point on one end and feathers on the other, like these-" for good measure, Faquel plunked one of the losser feathers from his right wing, showing it to the little hatchling "-so that the arrow flies straight."

"And your name. What your name?"

With this, Faquel produced an equaly large grin the hatchling had worn early and replyed,"I'm Faquel. Faquel Voct Tendra-well, just call me Faquel."

"Well, an arrow is a weapon shot from a bow, a curved piece of strong wood with a string attached to both ends. The arrow itself has a point on one end and feathers on the other, like these so that the arrow flies straight." Najade blinked at this, considering the new information for almost a full three seconds as he absently chewed on one claw. His attention was now on the the feather, as he stared and wished that he had things like that on his body. It looked soft and was shiny and pretty.... Not that his scales weren't pretty. The Serpent glanced backwards to admire the way the green lay over the blue for a second. Yes. His scales were quite nice. But having some of these feathers was still an attractive idea. Maybe he'd figure something out for that later.

His attention was jerked back to the angel as he spoke again. "I'm Faquel. Faquel Voct Tendra-well, just call me Faquel. Nahade grinned again, peering up at Faquel's face.

"Faquel..." He tried the syllables out. New words were so much fun..... "Arrow bite Faquel hard?"

"Faquel..." The tiny hatchling seemed to struggle with getting his name to sound correctly. "Arrow bite Faquel hard?"

"You...could say that," Faquel said, a hint of pain lacing through his voice. He didn't want to dwell on the more painful memories from earlier that day. What mattered now was what lay infront of him. Again, the hatchling's lack of knowledge bemused him. If this hatchling was going to be his bonded, he had a long way to go with him.

A thought accured to Faquel as he lowered himself to the cave floor, folding his legs and resting his hands on his knees. His right wing folded over his shoulder, giving him the appearance of wearing a cloak. "Hey, I don't know your name yet! What do you call yourself? I can't call you 'hatchling', now can I?"
