What Kind of Mask is it?:
A True Mask that was gifted to Lucas Toland by Arthur Torrings. Apparently it was the mask of the Emperor in ItexâŠ
If True, in what state of completion is it in?:
Completed, and unable to develop further because it is no longer the possession of its original owner.
How do you create/transform with the mask?
To create the mask: âConfidence is the keyâŠâ
To transform: ââŠto winning this game.â
Personality:
It seems that the Emperor was a rather strange character in Itex, as his wanted personality seems to have been a cold and calculating leader. Thinking of everything from an objective perspective, the Twisted Emperor adopts a callous, often condescending nature towards everyone, allies included. It views them as little more than tools â pawns in a game. The mask is significantly direct, not mincing its words and choosing to state the bare facts, whether they hurt or not. It is very decisive, and also has a higher level of mental processing, only adding to his haughty nature. The Emperor can seem somewhat of a tyrant, fitting of the name, and has no qualms about ordering people to do what he wants â this can range anything from strategies in battle to something as simple as pouring him water. However, at the same time, he doesnât do much if the person refuses a less serious task either, as if all of the emperor and such is just a game. Either way, Lucas is often seen sulking after a transformation, unable to face the others in his embarrassment. The Twisted Emperor is a little too good at completely ignoring things that irritate him.
Brief Description of Transformed State:
When transformed, Lucasâ hair and eyes darken in shade, adopting a colder light. Whereas he normally dresses for comfort, his maskâs personality dresses for luxury, and upon transforming, Lucas finds himself wearing rather overly-extravagant attire. Even if the person originally does not have any piercings, the Twisted Emperor wears a cross on his right ear. It generally wears white gloves, and dresses predominantly in shades of regal red, pure white, and black. It seems to hold a fondness for gold as well. Whereas Lucas is usually seen with a heart-felt smile, his transformed self is often seen with a smirk or a scowl.
Skills/Abilities when wearing mask:
When someone wears the Twisted Emperor, the personâs mental functioning increases in efficiency, and they are able to process and analyze thoughts more quickly. They become far more observant, taking in their surroundings even when they donât consciously pay attention. Confidence is the key ability that comes with this mask, and in Lucasâ case, he uses his newfound confidence and decisive nature to fulfill his own goals. The mask gives him the ability to concentrate a great deal more, helping him focus and even multitask.
On the more physical side, the one wearing the Twisted Emperor becomes far more agile, lighter on their feet, and find it possible to perform what would otherwise be impossible physical feats â higher jumps, uncanny reflexes, and the ability to withstand stronger impacts. What the Twisted Emperor lacks in actual physical power, it can make up for with speed, endurance, and strategy. Seeing as Lucas has had no experience with the art of fencing prior to receiving this mask, it can be assumed that his skill with a rapier comes from the mask as well.
Skills/Abilities of Transformed State:
-Royal Command (Minor) â With the overwhelming charisma of a ruler, the Twisted Emperor is most often able to coerce his opponents to do as he says, as long as the orders are simple. However, for those with exceptionally strong wills, it will do little more than disorient them. When he issues a royal command, the Twisted Emperorâs eyes flash red.
-Counterplay (Minor) â Should an opponent attack him with a certain form of energy, be it an element or something less tangible, he can absorb it with his rapier, giving it the qualities of his opponentâs powers. If too much energy is taken it at once, the sword may break down.
-Sacrifice (Minor) â He can use this ability to summon a large chess piece which can act as a one-time barrier, or a diversion for retreat. The higher the rank of the piece, the stronger the shield, but it also saps more of his energy.
-Endgame (Major) â Despite it being his only offensive magical ability, the Twisted Emperor is forced to use it sparingly. Endgame involves preparation before hand, as he plants pawns around the battlefield. After eight have been arranged appropriately, he uses his rapier to channel his energy to the chess pieces. That energy is then focused at his will, to one point â generally a single opponent, and from that moment on, the effect is immediate. If it hits, the enemy is hit with a powerful beam, its default effect being complete incapacitation as most people are knocked unconscious with actual physical damage. If he used counterplay beforehand, Endgame also takes on the previously absorbed qualities. Even if the initial attack misses, as long as he has the will and energy, the Twisted Emperor can continue to aim the focused beam of energy as he wishes, but Lucas can never hold out very long before draining himself and falling unconscious.
Weapons they have when they have transformed
Although its magical abilities are mostly used for support, the Twisted Emperorâs skill with its rapier makes up for their disadvantages. The Twisted Emperor gives its wearer the ability to conjure a thin, but strong, golden rapier. The intricate hilt wraps around the form of the ownerâs hand, protecting it and giving it a firmer grip. There is a crimson jewel set at the side it. When the sword has absorbed energy using Counterplay, the jewel changes its nature to match the kind it took in.
With the enhanced speed of the Twisted Emperor, coupled with the golden rapier, Lucas can prove himself a worthy opponent in terms of physical battle. He can summon it when he wears the mask, whether he transforms or not, but then it is only a plain rapier with no other significant abilities.
