Several hundred years after the noble sacrifice that Commander Shepard and his team took to stop the Collectors, a new threat has come to bring ruin to the galaxy, and another team has risen to stop them...

Introduction

No one ever returned from the Omega 4 Relay. No one even is certain what happened on the other side of the relay, except one man. The only thing that the various politicians and species agree on is that whatever threat was on the other side of the relay was pacified, but cost Shepard and his crew the ultimate price. The Council saw this as a perfect situation, declaring the Reaper and Collector threat defeated and, while they elevated the now dead Shepard to a heroic status and fondly missed soldier, they rapidly suppressed all the dust and theories he stirred up between his return and his departure through the Omega 4 Relay. The Alliance kept its council seat and say, with the old guard being replaced by generations of new humans selected to represent Humanities interests in the Council. No living, or synthetic, beings ever detected the Reapers or any signs of their harbingers, so they rapidly fell into the forgotten history texts that few cared about, and fewer bothered themselves to study.

Terminus space wasn't left unfazed by the actions of Shepard and his crew. The Illusive Man, the one man who knew what happened on the other end of the relay, had gained very little from reviving Shepard. Shepard's dying action was to destroy the Collector base, thus destroying whatever secrets and technology were aboard the vessel. Cerberus resumed its pro human activities, forgetting anything they had learned from Shepard's dealings with various non human crew members, and generally diplomatic means of handling situations. Omega was left reeling from the slaughter of the three major mercenary forces, and the death of the Blue Suns leader at the hands of Zaeed Massani, with aid from Shepard, spelled the end for the Blue Suns mercenary band. This left the Blood Pack and Eclipse, and while the Blood Pack spiked their recruitment up, the Eclipse absorbed the majority of surviving Blue Suns, leaving a few scattered bands that, while they still call themselves Blue Suns, are merely a shell of what they used to be before the events surrounding the Omega 4 Relay ended.

Fast forward 400 years. Council space is thriving, as is the Terminus system and its various and illicit activities. While no new races have gained official say on the council, the sway that the non council races have is slowly building as they begin working together to pool their resources and promote each other whenever possible. This politically upset the balance that the Citadel relied on politically, and is leaving a sour taste in everyone's mouth. To make matters worse, disturbing reports are beginning to appear on the desks of the Council. Machines, more advanced than the Geth, were appearing and wiping out whole colonies. While they did seem to take some prisoners, the majority of the colonists were cut down where they stood. The one Spectre, a Turian, who got caught in one of the raids while investigating the causes, was cut down where he stood. He did, however, accomplish two key things. First, his report showed that the machines had a goal and could be destroyed like anything else. Second, that they were taking a specific sort of colonist from each colony, and did not discriminate between the races. In a rare show of action, the Council issues an order to one of their Spectres. A crew would be formed, and the Spectre would pick up where the Turian had left off. The objective? To figure out what the machines wanted, and to stop them at all costs.





The premise is that, well after the days of Shepard and his fights against the Reapers and Collectors, a new threat is arising to consume civilized space for its own goals. The various individuals contacted to go through with this mission vary, all depending on their skills. From Engineers and Navigators, to Soldiers and Vanguards, if it could play a useful role in the missions success, they were contacted. The plan is to investigate the machines and their goals, and put a stop to them (With substorys along the way, of course!).

Skills: (Beyond their class and powers, what is the person good at? Are they number savvy, good with electronics, lots of thing can go here)
Equipment: What do they carry with them to do their job?

Personality: (A paragraph or two just giving an idea of how they act and who they are)

Biography: (Two or more paragraphs, it doesn't have to be well known or uber in depth, but having an idea will help)

Other/Miscellaneous: (Anything that was missed above that is still applicable can be put under here)




I will be taking care of the Spectre Captain (Because I won't be vanishing/having to bow out of my own RP) and can keep things moving if they bog down. Otherwise, if you can think of a role you want to reserve, whether it be a Head Engineer or a Navigation Expert, feel free to ask to have it held, and I'll hold it for a couple days so you can get the character you want to fill the role solidified.

Toggle Rules

1. No relations to Shepard or any of the old crew.

2. No godmodding, metagaming, ect ect.

3. The tech remained the largely the same over the 400 years (Still Thermal Clips), so don't get too crazy tech wise.

4. Romance is fine, but if the suits come off and clothes start flying, do as they do in the games. Fade to black and be tasteful about it!

5. Try and have fun, if you have ideas for a subplot, go ahead and PM me about it. Otherwise, post in the OOC as well. I want this to be character driven as much as possible.

BWAHAHA. Same here! My vacation was flooded out and I come home and my home is surrounded by wetlands now. >_>

We had a recycling bin sitting outside that was overflowing with water to show you how much rain we got in the past week! Stupid monsoon season!

Regarding the latest post... I posted this to Vain too and since it was so late/early she's going to fix it whenever she gets up.


I have three chars. The two that were duking it out were both humans so it is the human, Stevie, that was knocked out. :) Sorry if that was unclear. I'll try to reread it later today after work and see what I can fix.
