Alan Forshak

I enjoy long walks on the beach, and a great Genocide...wait...that's not right

a character in “Mass Effect: Solace”, as played by InfamousZeus777

Description

He is taller than most humans, but is well built due to his military training. He has full standard N7 light combat armor, though he never takes off the helmet (you never know when a fight might happen right?). It is black with a green tint to it, so he can blend in when needed. He has short brown hair, standard for Alliance military, brown eyes, a strong jaw, and a round face. It isn't standard procedure, but he has a well trimmed goatee, believing that it is slightly more intimidating, even if he doesn't need the intimidation factor. He is 22 years old, and walks confidently, knowing his competency of what he does.

Personality

He is kind and generous to most people, believing that if your nice to people, then there is less chance of getting shot in the back. He generally stays neutral in political and religious debates. His philosophy is if you side with someone, they will be your friend for the night, if you disagree with them, they will hold a grudge for weeks. Throughout his life he has enjoyed the simplicity of it. Running and gunning is simple enough for him. He is very patient, believing that you get know where with getting angry, but he can have a short temper, if frustrated. He is quick to make friends, but in the military that isn't very good, because the friend you just made may die the next day. He ignores that, because at least you got to know them.

While being in the Alliance they promote acceptance with other races. He likes the Quarians, believing them to be a good species, and they are all nice people...albeit a little too passive in their war with the Geth. He has a distrust of Turians because of the Human-Turian War. There are still wounds that run deep for some families. He respects the Krogan because of their courage in battle, and because of their strong familial bonds they make with their clan. He feels sorry for the Krogan, however, due to the Genophage crisis. He LOVES Asari, due to a encounter during his training at the Academy. He believes them very wise and alluring. He respects the Salarians for their technological genius, but disapproves of their involvement in the creation of the Genophage.

Alan is religious but doesn't boast about it. He accepts everyone's opinion, and doesn't appreciate stupid ideas. He will defend his religion, however, if he is personally attacked for believing in it. He finds that if you don't speak of religion, then you will find that you can be friends with just about anyone. While staying neutral in most debates, he will keep his opinions to himself, unless he feels like minded if the person asks him directly.

Equipment

Alan uses a standard issue M-8 assault rifle, given to him after completing his training at the Academy. He is very specialized with this weapon. When he was chosen to become the body guard of Councilor Anderson, he was given a M-23 Katana shotgun. He isn't very good with it, but in close quarters, one doesn't really need to be great with a shotgun. He also has an Alliance standard omni-tool, but doesn't prefer to use it, most people have an omni-tool, so he leaves it to them to use it.

While training at the Academy he was approached by a Alliance Commander. This man wanted him to join a program called the Adept Project. Alan accepted and was soon transferred out of grunt training into more specialized work. The Adepts were a group of soldiers who specialized in the use of Biotics. They were given a choice of implants that they wanted to use to amplify their abilities. Alan chose the L5x implant. The L5x didn't come without its complications. If improperly trained, one could be overcome with massive migraine headaches. However, Kaiden Alenko trained Alan to control these headaches, so they become easily managed. They were trained to use the powers Pull, Throw, and a specific power that they chose. He chose to use Warp, and very dangerous ability that can heavily damage the target, but wear out the user very fast. One day, he saw an Asari practicing a move called Singularity, he became very interested in it. After months of training he finally could use it to a moderate degree.

Class: Adept

History

Alan came from an abusive home. His father was the main aggressor, but his mother didn't stop the violence, for fear of her life. His father was this way because he was dishonorably discharged from the Alliance Military. While intoxicated, he punched his CO in the face, thus, leading to a court marshal and then the discharge. Since then, he spent majority of the money on alcohol and flying into blind rages that could end up in someone getting hurt. At first, he directed his hate to Alan's mother, then when Alan stepped in to defend her, they both suffered. One night, after receiving a thorough beating from his father, Alan found his father's pistol, and used it to end his father's life. He didn't even blink.

The next day, he went to a recruiting office for the Alliance and signed up. He enjoyed the simplicity of the training until he joined the Adepts, that's when things got difficult. He soon became enthralled with the challenge of it. Due to the Alliance's open training program, Turians were allowed to train troops. Alan's father groomed Alan up to despise Turians, but he didn't take to the lessons. All he gained was a distrust of them. So, ironically, his CO was a Turian for awhile in the Adept program. He soon realized that he was irrational in his distrust, and became fast friends with his CO. Though he still distrusts most Turians, he realizes that some are very nice, and very trustworthy.

After he graduated from the Academy, he was given the rank of Corporal for his ability to lead. He never got a chance to lead however, his former CO nominated him to become the personal body guard of the new Councilor, Anderson. His nomination was graciously accepted and he was elected to the position. He adjusted to this duty with gusto, and was soon at the Alliance Citadel. Since Anderson practically lived there, thats where he spent the most of his time, walking to Council meetings, and general meetings with Secretary Udina. Alan enjoyed this work, but he knew that there was something out there that he needed to do, and until that time came, he would protect the Councilor with his life.

So begins...

When Alan heard the explosion, he immediately switched into defense mode. He summoned a ball of biotic energy and put a barrier on Anderson's door. That way, if anyone tried to assassinate the Councilor, they would have to get through the barrier. He then checked his rifle, and bolted out of the lobby and into the general Alliance Embassy area. He then heard shots being discharged, and they sounded like they came from the Tech Shop, so he ran that way. Alan ran through the throngs of running citizens. "GET OUT OF THE WAY! ALLIANCE MILITARY!". No one really listened, they were just running to get away.

He finally got out of the group of people and kept on running, there was no time for error. If the Tech Shop wasn't the right place, then Councilor Anderson would be in terrible danger. He finally got to the Tech Shop and crept up to the side of the door. He could hear voices inside, one human, the other quarian, and the final one was turian. He counted off three, two, one, and burst into the door.

Right as he ran in the door, he saw the quarian he saw earlier pull out her omni-blade, and attack the turain. The turian easily deflected. "Okay that is enough! Alliance military! Everyone drop your weapons and put your hands up!" Alan said, pulling out his shotgun and aiming at the turian.

"Okay know that that's over... You there, Quarian. Put your omni-blade away, and put the pistol down or I will be forced to shoot." Alan ordered moving his aim off of the Turian to the Quarian. Even if she didn't comply, Alan wasn't thinking about shooting her. He had an idea. A single Singularity would probably cause enough chaos to confuse them. That is, Alan thought mischievously, if she doesn't comply.

Seeing everything unfold in front of her, Cee'Larah was relieved that things didn't go as bad as she thought they might. Her stunt that she pulled with attacking the turian to save some human she doesn't even know was beyond risky. It was only by coincidence that she lived, thanks to the intervention of the Alliance officer...

Who was now pointing his shotgun away from the turian and at her... lovely. She sighed and raised her hands, disabling her omni-tool and dropping her pistol. "Of course, sir. I didn't mean any harm, I was just trying to defend myself and the human. Nothing more." She hoped that he would believe her. Her words were true, but they don't seem very believable. After all, what would a quarian need from a human?

"She is fine. She was just here helping me. She won't hurt you or me." Keneth said. He put his omni-blade away and stood there looking at the officer in the room with them. "Seriously she is a friend of mine just visiting. She came to check up on me and this guy blew up the door." He pointed at Sarius and shook his head. He started to laugh to himself and then looked at the Turian.

"I hate to say I told you so, but look at the situation that you are involved in now." Keneth let out a sigh. He needed the officer to believe him. The quarian had nothing to do with it and he needed her safe. 'This must have been the last thing that the quarian had ever expected when she walked into a store to go and buy something.' Keneth thought as he stepped behind the counter and took a seat.

Should I believe them? Alan thought to himself. He was never good at diffusing situations. On one hand, he had a shot fired in a civilian sector of the Citadel, on the other however, there was the paperwork. Alan breathed a sigh of disappointment, he had really wanted to use Singularity, but oh well. He lowered his shotgun. "I guess I believe you, but there is one thing I need to do." Alan said activating his COM. "To all nearby Alliance personnel, I'm going to need backup in case the situation gets out of hand. No need to worry, just a bit of confusion it seems like." He hoped someone would heed his call in case something did happen. Alan hoped to distract the three until his backup arrived. "Who fired first, and why?" Alan asked, leaning against the wall.

Cee was happy the human supported her word. The words of an Alliance engineer were more likely to protect her than her own, and for that, she was thankful Keneth decided to help her. "Keneth, don't antagonize the guy that just tried to kill you. Sure there's an Alliance officer in here now, but your luck won't keep you alive forever," she said, trying to make it seem as if Keneth and she were good friends. Best to just continue the act for now if it meant the both of them staying safe.

One thing did catch her attention, however. That the man called for back up. Why would this really be needed? Sure, he's outnumbered 3 to 1, but the turian is the only one he'd have to worry about. If anything, Cee'Larah could probably help him herself if needed. She just hoped that whoever answered the call didn't have a preset prejudice to quarians.

"To answer your question, officer, the turian shot first," Cee said, turning her attention back to the Alliance officer. "He blasted the door down, then fired at Keneth. It's only by luck that Keneth's prototype tech saved him. The shots following were fired by me, in mine and Keneth's self-defense. Surely, in this sort of a situation, that's not too much of a problem?"

Strange, you don't see Quarian females and human males befriending each other every day. Alan would have to ask how that came to be some other time. He looked at the Turian. Surely, he wouldn't be so stupid as to attack an Alliance Engineer on Alliance territory? As the saying goes, 'you can't fix stupid'. Alan just shrugged his shoulders. Today was just not going his way.

"Care to explain why you shot at an Alliance Engineer, Turian? Or do I have to just assume that he killed your father and your here for some kind of vendetta?" Alan said sarcastically, putting his weight on his right leg as to look relaxed.

"Well it's been fun, but I got to get going" Atkins said to Sha'ira walking out of the Consort's building. "I won't be staying at the Citadel, it's become... too exciting for me." Sha'ira said as Atkins turned around. "Too exciting for you? That's a new one, especially after you started dating a Turian general." Atkins replied. "Yes... well... it's been a while since then... it only got wild after Shepard." Sha'ira said as Atkins took a step back. "What did you just say?" Atkins asked stunned.

"To all nearby Alliance personnel, I'm going to need backup in case the situation gets out of hand. No need to worry, just a bit of confusion it seems like." Called an Alliance soldier over the communicator.

"Crap. Hold that thought Sha'ira, I've got to get there right now." Atkins said pulling his weapon out and beginning to turn away towards the Alliance soldier's position. "Of course, I hope to see you again soon." Sha'ira replied as Atkins ran across the bridge.

Atkins ran across the bridge towards the Embassy Tech Warehouse, which was where the Comm was sent. He had his weapon ready and ran into the Warehouse. He raised his weapon to his face and was prepared to fire.

"Who are you and what the hell is going on?" Atkins ordered as he came up to a group of people.

When the Turian didn't answer, Alan figured that it wasn't that important. He just shrugged, and turned to the Human male. This must have been the guy the Turian was gunning for. Alan slowly put his shotgun away, and sat down in an empty chair. He was just about to speak when a male voice cried out from the doorway.

"Hello!" Alan said, rising to his feet. "I wasn't expecting a answer to my call so soon. I'm Sgt. Forshak, and there seems to have been a bit of confusion, as far as I could tell. The Turian attacked the Quarian who seems to be acquainted with the man over there. Did I get everything right?" Alan asked, twisting to look at the Quarian.
