Cee'Larah nar Moreh

"No you bosh'tet, you can't touch that. Keelah, it's like I'm the only smart one here."

0 · 354 views · located in The Mass Effect Universe

a character in “Mass Effect: Solace”, as played by NelielChan

Description

Her enviro-suit is fairly simplistic, showing no complex details or motifs to draw as minimal attention as possible. Her suit is mostly black, with white framing her face mask, as well as covering most of her chest and her breasts. Her face mask itself is a very dull white, which reflects only a little light. Thin white lines start at her waist, and travel down the sides of her hips to her feet. At her waist is her belt, which contains the mechanism for her stealth fields, purposely put within easy reach to trigger at a moment's notice. She's done her best to modify her omni-tool to being more dimly lit, to further help herself stay conspicuous. The palms of her hands and soles of her feet are also mostly white, something that, to her disdain, she hasn't managed to dye.

Her physical build is typical of a Quarian's. Her body shows off a very obvious hour-glass frame, and like most other female Quarians, her enviro-suit hugs her body and curves very well. Her arms and legs are of typical length, though her shoulders are a slight bit narrower than most Quarians. Her hips are of average size, possibly even a slight bit larger depending on whom you're comparing her to, and her breasts are a tad bit smaller than other Quarian's, something Cee is thankful for.

Personality

In short, Cee is best described as blunt to a fault. While she doesn't feel the need to blurt out everything she thinks about a person, her opinions of someone will, whether or not she tries to hide them, slip out in conversation. She's usually quick to cover these up, though to some more easily offended races, she is much more careful in her word choice. She doesn't like formal situations, as it makes her feel slightly uncomfortable to be in such a large crowd of people at once, though it's more tolerable for smaller gatherings.

Despite her bluntness, she has very little problems with being polite. Due to being from the same ship as Admiral Daro'Xen vas Moreh, she has a strong sense of respect for those who she believes deserve it. This holds true for not only her race, but for any other race as well.

Her opinions about other races as a whole vary. She hasn't had much interaction with many races, only really having met Humans, Turians, Asari, and Salarians outside of her own race. With these races, she withholds some respect for each of them, though for different reasons. She sees the Humans as very innovative, getting advanced tech in such a short time, though she feels they're a little invasive, and tend to be bullies. Turians, being a very militial race, are seen to her as a strong, iron-willed race, gaining her respect from protecting others. She respects the Asari and Salarians out of the sheer reasoning that they're both geniuses in their own rights, the Asari being biotic geniuses, and the Salarians technical.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about her personality is how she regards the Geth-Quarian conflict. While she does wish the Geth didn't get to the way they were, she doesn't blame them. Instead, she blames her own race for letting the Geth AI evolve into sentience and then eventually driving them off of their homeworld. She isn't openly expressive of this opinion, especially while on the Migrant Fleet, but she does tell it without hesitation when asked.

Equipment

She relies on her M-92 Mantis sniper rifle, bought upon arriving at the Citadel, which she has slightly altered by painting black, as well as adding a hand-made silencer onto the barrel to keep the gun as quiet as possible. Additionally, she keeps a M-3 Predator pistol she received as a parting gift from her father in case anything gets too close to her, though due to her not using this as much, her aim isn't quite as steady. Her omni-tool, which she has had since her days on the Flotilla, is something she tends to rely on, whether it be for analyzing simple data to hacking into computers. She also has a tactical cloak, which is activated by pressing a trigger on her belt.

She also carries at least one medical pack with her at all times, as well as a few extra thermal clips for her weapons.

Class: Infiltrator

History

Cee'Larah never had many problems with her life on the Flotilla. Her only issue was trying to live up to the legacy of those from her ship, especially Admiral Daro'Xen. She admired her, sure, but she found it difficult at times to feel proud about any of her successes when she had such an admirable woman to follow. Despite her parents constantly telling her not to worry, she still felt the looming doubt of the shadow of someone so great over her.

Later on into her life, however, she decided upon changing her perspective. So what if she couldn't be exactly like Daro'Xen? She decided that, if she can't be a great politician, she would focus on technology instead. To her great pleasure, she found that she was quick to learn the ropes of how things like omni-tools and computers worked. What really led to interest her, however, was weapons, both in the forms of guns and technology. This led to surprise her family at first, but her father soon willingly accepted this, with her mother soon to follow.

After a while, Cee became known as the girl who would help with your weapons, free of charge. She had no desire to charge people for her services. She just loved working with guns and omni-tools. This led her to feel better about herself. Instead of sulking in the shadows of a politician, she focused her abilities on something more practical, and thus, this allowed her to excel.

What would perhaps be the most interesting thing she would discover is the ability to use technology to cloak yourself from others. She saw this used by a fellow Quarian on the Flotilla, and was instantly interested in learning how it worked. After days of being taught, she eventually learned how to make this herself, and was proud of her achievement.

But, soon enough, she had to set out on her Pilgrimage. Fighting back tears, she said goodbye to her parents, receiving the first pistol she worked on for her father as a parting gift. Despite not being very good with pistols, she swore to always keep it with her, a promise she lives up to to this day.

So begins...

Keelah, was this a big ship. Cee'Larah had seen large ships as a part of the Migrant Fleet, sure, but none of what she saw even began to compare to the hulking mass that is the Citadel. Just arriving at the Citadel yesterday, Cee has been completely lost since. She was pointed to a small place in the wards she could stay, which, to her pleasure, was far away from the mass population of the rest of the Citadel. Sure it meant she had to walk a lot. But so what?

Other than buying her sniper rifle from an arms dealer, who was confused as to why a small Quarian girl would want such a thing, Cee hasn't had a very eventful stay at the Citadel. She thought about getting a job as a weapon technician, but she knew that the distrust of her race wouldn't allow that. She also considered heading to one of the clubs like Flux, but she wasn't brave enough to go somewhere like that just yet.

Cee'Larah's reasoning for going to the Citadel was simple. She was here as part of her Pilgrimage. She hopes to find new sorts of technology to bring back to her people, then being seen as an adult. She didn't expect something to land right in her lap, sure, but was this ever taking long.

She sat up from her bed, hopeful. She had heard yesterday about a very skilled technician who is a member of the Alliance Military. She hoped that the Alliance would be kind enough to let her talk to him. Without this, she wasn't sure where else to look for. She could travel to Omega, but she wanted to avoid that. The idea of all those people packed into one space station frightened her. And the clubs... oh, she would hate getting looks from perverted Humans and Turians. Cee'Larah is well aware that she's an attractive girl, but the idea of others undressing her with their eyes disturbed her.

Cee'Larah left her room, remembering to keep her pistol at her belt. She didn't expect she'd need it, but you can never be sure. She's not amazing with a pistol, but if someone's up in your face, it's not hard to shoot them and run. Or so she kept telling herself as she trudged off in the direction of the Alliance embassy.

Cee'Larah looked to her right, and saw a human acting rather strangely. He was moving all around in his seat, twitching and fidgeting. It was very obvious he was looking at her, and she sighed.

"Bosh'tet," she muttered to herself. She was about to turn away when she caught sight of the man's surroundings. He was in a shop, she noticed, and Cee presumed he was the owner. This man, the owner of a shop? He moved around more than a Salarian, and that's something Cee never thought she would see in her life.

Upon further observation of the shop, Cee'Larah noticed just how messy it was. It was obviously a tech store. Cee noticed machinery parts, batteries, and multitudes of other types of technology. They lined the shelves, which were so stacked that it seemed that some of it was placed on the floor. "Terrible shop-keeping practice," Cee'Larah muttered. But she also sighed. This man could possibly be the technician she came here to look for. She then sighed a second time when she realized this would mean talking to the man. She shook her head lightly, sighed, and turned to walk towards the stall, keeping her hand near her gun. Caution never killed anyone. Well, it never killed her.

Approaching the man, she tentatively spoke. "Um, hello? My name is Cee'Larah nar Moreh. I was wondering, is this your shop?"

"Why yes this is my shop." He told Cee. He looked her up and down and noticed her hand near her gun. "I assume that you are here for tech cause if you are here to eat I have some bad news." He smiled and laughed at his own joke. He stood up and activated his omni-tool. He loved the color that he choose for it this week. He started to scan some of the tech and placed the broken stuff behind the counter. He looked up at the female "So you here on your..." He turned his head and thought for a second "Pilgrimage! Yeah that." He shook his head 'Wow I can't believe how disrespectful i've been.' he thought. He turned and moved behind the counter. "Well I'm Keneth, this is my shop so if you need anything just let me know. Oh and if you are looking for some cool proto-type tech i've got some of that too." He smiled and leaned back into his chair waiting for Cee to respond.

Cee'Larah smiled, lightly laughing to humor Keneth. "Nice to meet you, Keneth. Yes, I'm here for technology, and I'm here for my Pilgrimage, too." She shifted her weight from one side of her body to the other nervously, letting her hand move slightly away from her gun. "That's, um, a very impressive Omni-Tool you have... uh..." She let out a nervous laugh. She thought she was used to talking to humans, but her fumbling over a simple conversation made her feel a little less about her social skills.

"My apologies, I'm still a little unfamiliar with talking to your kind. So, what kind of prototype tech are you talking about?" Cee'Larah asked, hoping to divert attention away from her previous awkward comment.

Keneth smiled "I'm glad you asked. It is a well shield modifier. I call is the Omni-shield." He stood and walked over to a corner of the room and stood there playing with his omni-tool for a few moments. "Okay, shields, and power are up and good. I'm ready for this." He said to himself as he pressed one last button on his omni-tool. "Okay, I know this might sound weird but I need you to shot me. Don't worry this is apart of the prototype I should be safe." He stood there waiting for the bullet that was to be on its course to him.

"Um. Did you say to... shoot you?" Cee'Larah asked. She looked around nervously. "Wouldn't that cause trouble? I mean, I'm sure other people would be unnerved by hearing a gunshot..." She sighed. She doesn't know if she should trust this Keneth or not, and if her shooting him lands her in trouble, she'll never get to complete her Pilgrimage in a timely manner. But on the other hand, nothing ventured, nothing gained...

Cee sighed again, then pulled her gun off of her belt, pointing it at the man. "Well, if you say so..." she mumbled as she readied herself to fire the shot, hoping for some interruption to keep her from firing her pistol.

Sarius didn't take long to check out what files he could find on his human target. His files were plentiful but awfully vague. No files on him before him joining the Alliance military. Not the rarest thing he'd ever seen but that could mean a thousand nasty little surprises when he kicked down the door. As he made his way to the shabby little shop that he owned, he checked all his weapon systems, made double sure his suit's weave patches weren't peeling off and listened to Charon babble on in his ear. Sarius idly thought on how Charon got to be with him.

A few months back, he raided a pirate storage unit to recover a data chip worth three times much as the building it was in. During the job, he'd blasted open a few containers and made the split second decision to steal what he had thought was an empty AI storage device while he was making his escape. He found out shortly after that he'd nabbed an active unit and did what any brilliant person would do and installed it directly into his run down and heavily modified turian corvette he named Acheron after some human story about one of the many ways they think they get to the afterlife. Thinking back to the story, he named the AI Charon after the dark figure mentioned in the tale. Of course, the AI was far more timid than the figure of death he heard all those years back.

"-don't forget to search for structural weaknesses, you can use them to make a quicker escape. And also... are you even listening to me?" he AI asked, sounding stern. "Huh? Ya, sure, sure," Sarius responded, shaking out of his funk. Charon just let out an unamused huff before shutting the chat link without another word. Sarius made a mental note to apologize to the touchy program before he realized he was able to see the target's shop from where he stood.

Sarius prepped his right hand omni-tool and approached the building, acting like he was just reading a message. As he closed the distance, he set his tool's system to incineration mode and prepped a small ball of plasma in his hand. He checked to make sure that no one was looking straight at him before he pushed his back against the wall and drew his rifle, holding it in his left hand by the stock as he prepped the plasma ball in one hand and activated the protocol for his armor in the other. The maroon holo-armor sprung around his torso and arms just as the plasma ball hit critical mass. He turned his head to the side and slammed his right hand into the door frame. The condensed plasma blasted into the wall and blasted the hefty door off it's hinges. Sarius grabbed the handle with his now free hand and charged in before the door could even hit the ground. He instantly saw two figures; a quarian woman and the human she was pointing a gun at. Before he put any thought before the situation, he pulled the trigger and loosed three shots at the man's chest.

Cee was completely lost as what to react to first. The turian who just blew the door down and shot Keneth, or the fact that Keneth's omni-tool seemed to leap up off of his arm, direct itself right at the point of impact from the turian's shots, take the shots, and then recede back to his arm. That must have been the "proto-type" technology Keneth mentioned. If so, Cee thought to herself, he's lucky it didn't malfunction.

Upon the door being smashed open, Cee jumped back, almost losing her gun in the process. The impact of whatever blew the door open easily caused it to smash into the wall, leaving a sizable dent as the door bounced off of it from the amount of force put into it. Time seemed to freeze in the moments after the the chaos. With no obvious plan of action, Cee'Larah readied her onmi-tool for her to overload the turian's tech armor, but then sighed when she remembered she wasn't familiar with tech armor, disabling the override protocol. Now I know why I should have paid more attention to father when he talked about overriding armor, he wasn't kidding when he said it would help me, she quietly thought to herself. That didn't matter to her now, though, as she quickly pointed her pistol at the turian and fired twice. The first shot sailed past the turian's head and the second bounced off of his tech armor.

"Bosh'tet!" she cursed. "What the hell is your problem, turian?" While saying this, she kept her pistol aimed at the turian, hoping that, should she need to fire a third shot, it wouldn't miss.

Keneth Was not happy. A turian just bursted into his shop shot him and disrespected the female. He began to heat up plasma in his omni-tool and once it was hot enough he throw it at the turian. It missed but Keneth didn't care. His proto-type worked his omni-tool worked just as it should have it took a bit of damage but he didn't even care. Keneth had a look of pure murderous intent on his face. "You come into my shop, and shot without authorization. You are going to pay." Keneth started to walk towards the turian.

When Keneth closed his fist his omni-tool started to change and manipulate until it unfolded into and omni-blade. "If you want me you're going to face to really fight for it." Keneth was scared out of his mind but this was the like fourth person who tried to kill him. It really wasn't new but this was the closest that someone had come to actually killing him. "You are not the first you know." He said pointing the blade him. "Just wait til the soldiers come and they'll do what im want to do to you in less than five seconds." He looked over at the quarian. "Hey you okay?"

Of the thousand and one things Sarius expected to go wrong, crazy omni-defense prototypes were not on the list. He aimed for the man's head as his left hand slide down the side of the gun and reached the metal cube that had been fused to the side of the energy cell. He flipped the switch and got ready to fire another round before he spoke. "On the ground and I won't have to make this a bloodbath. I'm not here to kill you anywa -" Sarius lost his focus as one bullet wizzed past his head and another bounced off his tech armor chest piece with ease.

His head snapped towards the attacker and he was ready to bring his gun around and fire when he realized who it was; the quarian woman, obviously closer to a girl now that she was in front of him, whom he assumed was after the man as well. Between the way she was holding the gun and her terrible spread, it was obvious she didn't know how to fire a gun. Most of this went straight over his head as he lowered his gun and gave her the turian equivalent of a smile. "Hey there, precious. No need to look so ruffled. How about we take care of pink boy over here, split the bounty down the middle and then grab -"

Sarius found himself being interrupted yet again by something shooting past his head. The heat he still felt on his face made it too easy to guess what it was. He looked back to the human and found that he didn't look happy himself but even Sarius didn't except him to start approaching him. That is until the omni-blade folded out and he began making threats. "Oh, you're going to be a fun one," he said as another grin, much more malicious this time, spread across his face as he activated both his omni-tools. It took them only a split second to both activate into his own omni-blades, the right one being larger than average and both looking equally deadly. As the human stated that soliders would be coming, Sarius began making subtle steps toward him. He took the moment the human decided to look to the quarian to see if she was okay to strike. He charged and aimed his left, smaller omni-blade at the man's shoulder while holding up the right, larger one defensively, like some sort of shield.

Shit. That was all that was that went through Cee'Larah's head when she saw the turian lunge at Keneth. And he even had the gall to flirt with her! Bosh'tet. Analyzing the turian's lunge and trajectory, she knew the blow would be fatal if it made contact. This time, she activated her omni-tool, converting it into a blade, not quite as long as Keneth's, but much wider and with a hollow center. She stepped forward and swung her blade at the turian's smaller blade, causing the blades to clash and spark.

"Would you two bosh'tets both STOP trying to kill each other for a second? I'm lost, I have no idea what's going on, and all I wanted was some tech for my Pilgrimage! Instead I find some human who makes a salarian look like an elcor and a turian who, on top of trying to KILL the human, has terrible pick up lines! I mean really, PRECIOUS?!" Cee'Larah yelled. She wasn't typically one to yell, but this was one of her few breaking points. She didn't want a fight, but she was damn sure that the turian wouldn't get his hands on Keneth. Cee never fought much before, especially not with a blade. But she wasn't about to just stand by while someone got murdered in front over her own eyes, even if that meant risking her neck in the process.

When Alan heard the explosion, he immediately switched into defense mode. He summoned a ball of biotic energy and put a barrier on Anderson's door. That way, if anyone tried to assassinate the Councilor, they would have to get through the barrier. He then checked his rifle, and bolted out of the lobby and into the general Alliance Embassy area. He then heard shots being discharged, and they sounded like they came from the Tech Shop, so he ran that way. Alan ran through the throngs of running citizens. "GET OUT OF THE WAY! ALLIANCE MILITARY!". No one really listened, they were just running to get away.

He finally got out of the group of people and kept on running, there was no time for error. If the Tech Shop wasn't the right place, then Councilor Anderson would be in terrible danger. He finally got to the Tech Shop and crept up to the side of the door. He could hear voices inside, one human, the other quarian, and the final one was turian. He counted off three, two, one, and burst into the door.

Right as he ran in the door, he saw the quarian he saw earlier pull out her omni-blade, and attack the turain. The turian easily deflected. "Okay that is enough! Alliance military! Everyone drop your weapons and put your hands up!" Alan said, pulling out his shotgun and aiming at the turian.

"Okay know that that's over... You there, Quarian. Put your omni-blade away, and put the pistol down or I will be forced to shoot." Alan ordered moving his aim off of the Turian to the Quarian. Even if she didn't comply, Alan wasn't thinking about shooting her. He had an idea. A single Singularity would probably cause enough chaos to confuse them. That is, Alan thought mischievously, if she doesn't comply.

Seeing everything unfold in front of her, Cee'Larah was relieved that things didn't go as bad as she thought they might. Her stunt that she pulled with attacking the turian to save some human she doesn't even know was beyond risky. It was only by coincidence that she lived, thanks to the intervention of the Alliance officer...

Who was now pointing his shotgun away from the turian and at her... lovely. She sighed and raised her hands, disabling her omni-tool and dropping her pistol. "Of course, sir. I didn't mean any harm, I was just trying to defend myself and the human. Nothing more." She hoped that he would believe her. Her words were true, but they don't seem very believable. After all, what would a quarian need from a human?

"She is fine. She was just here helping me. She won't hurt you or me." Keneth said. He put his omni-blade away and stood there looking at the officer in the room with them. "Seriously she is a friend of mine just visiting. She came to check up on me and this guy blew up the door." He pointed at Sarius and shook his head. He started to laugh to himself and then looked at the Turian.

"I hate to say I told you so, but look at the situation that you are involved in now." Keneth let out a sigh. He needed the officer to believe him. The quarian had nothing to do with it and he needed her safe. 'This must have been the last thing that the quarian had ever expected when she walked into a store to go and buy something.' Keneth thought as he stepped behind the counter and took a seat.

Should I believe them? Alan thought to himself. He was never good at diffusing situations. On one hand, he had a shot fired in a civilian sector of the Citadel, on the other however, there was the paperwork. Alan breathed a sigh of disappointment, he had really wanted to use Singularity, but oh well. He lowered his shotgun. "I guess I believe you, but there is one thing I need to do." Alan said activating his COM. "To all nearby Alliance personnel, I'm going to need backup in case the situation gets out of hand. No need to worry, just a bit of confusion it seems like." He hoped someone would heed his call in case something did happen. Alan hoped to distract the three until his backup arrived. "Who fired first, and why?" Alan asked, leaning against the wall.

Cee was happy the human supported her word. The words of an Alliance engineer were more likely to protect her than her own, and for that, she was thankful Keneth decided to help her. "Keneth, don't antagonize the guy that just tried to kill you. Sure there's an Alliance officer in here now, but your luck won't keep you alive forever," she said, trying to make it seem as if Keneth and she were good friends. Best to just continue the act for now if it meant the both of them staying safe.

One thing did catch her attention, however. That the man called for back up. Why would this really be needed? Sure, he's outnumbered 3 to 1, but the turian is the only one he'd have to worry about. If anything, Cee'Larah could probably help him herself if needed. She just hoped that whoever answered the call didn't have a preset prejudice to quarians.

"To answer your question, officer, the turian shot first," Cee said, turning her attention back to the Alliance officer. "He blasted the door down, then fired at Keneth. It's only by luck that Keneth's prototype tech saved him. The shots following were fired by me, in mine and Keneth's self-defense. Surely, in this sort of a situation, that's not too much of a problem?"

Strange, you don't see Quarian females and human males befriending each other every day. Alan would have to ask how that came to be some other time. He looked at the Turian. Surely, he wouldn't be so stupid as to attack an Alliance Engineer on Alliance territory? As the saying goes, 'you can't fix stupid'. Alan just shrugged his shoulders. Today was just not going his way.

"Care to explain why you shot at an Alliance Engineer, Turian? Or do I have to just assume that he killed your father and your here for some kind of vendetta?" Alan said sarcastically, putting his weight on his right leg as to look relaxed.

When the Turian didn't answer, Alan figured that it wasn't that important. He just shrugged, and turned to the Human male. This must have been the guy the Turian was gunning for. Alan slowly put his shotgun away, and sat down in an empty chair. He was just about to speak when a male voice cried out from the doorway.

"Hello!" Alan said, rising to his feet. "I wasn't expecting a answer to my call so soon. I'm Sgt. Forshak, and there seems to have been a bit of confusion, as far as I could tell. The Turian attacked the Quarian who seems to be acquainted with the man over there. Did I get everything right?" Alan asked, twisting to look at the Quarian.
