They are my family, and I will free them someday.
Personality: She was a quiet, mature woman. Though she always seemed disinterested in the things which went on around her, she took very good care of the Flock. She was obsessed with their safety and happiness, though she would never have shown it, and it was her deepest desire to free them. Things did not work out that way, and she ended up escaping on her own, but she retained the determination to find and protect them. She plans, someday, to return to the Clinic in search of them. It does not occur to her that they might be able to escape themselves; she only did it because her ability allowed her to disguise herself as a whitecoat, or a scientist, as she calls them. Over the last decade, not only has she become adept at life on the run, but she has become adept at life outside, among normal people. She hides now by blending perfectly into a normal human life, acting as Marion Phallen. A friendly, outgoing young model working for a fashion company, completely unlike the silent, ominous figure that the Flock knows and admires. She is a brilliant actress.
Likes: Being free, taking care of children, her fiancé, thinking of having a normal life, thinking of having a child of her own, modeling, stories, movies, acting, fashion, pizza, swimming
Dislikes: Zebras (she thinks they look silly with her stripes on), death, loss, her wings, whitecoats (scientists), most people in the world
Fears: Losing the Flock forever
Hobbies: Searching for the Flock, meeting with her fiancé, planning for their family.
Quirks: She has trouble distinguishing her own illusions from real life. She does not realize when she is doing it, much of the time.
Equipment: Wallet, money, credit card, driver’s license, iPod, gift cards, car keys, band-aids, antibiotic cream, matches, a pack of cigarettes (she only smokes them when she is EXTREMELY stressed, so she goes through about one pack in two years), usually some candy, butterfly knife, photographs of the Flock, her engagement ring. She also usually carries a nice, thick book, just for entertainment purposes.
History: She was born and raised at the Clinic. At a very early age she began to take care of the other mutants, at least until the experiments killed them. She adopted the members of the Flock as they came in, caring for each of them carefully. It was her plan to escape with them, but it never worked out, and eventually she decided she could help them more from outside the walls than from within. She left alone.
In the decade since, she has built a normal life for herself. She is a beautiful model for a prestigious modeling agency, signed with several major labels. She has chosen the name Marion Phallen. She has a boyfriend; Kevin Stynes; who knows her secret and has recently proposed to her. They are planning the wedding, and at the same time they are planning to start a family of their own. The Flock, however, always lingers at the back of her mind, and she anticipates the day when she will locate the Clinic again and be able to free those who she calls her “siblings”. She does not know that they have freed themselves.
