Setting
Oli pushed himself up to a sitting position to watch the girls, making himself dizzy in the process but staying upright.
"S-Sounds like a f-fun dr... Dream, Suzie. B-Besides the h-hippo part, I gue... Guess." He scratched the back of his neck, feeling a bit awkward. This was really the first time he had spoken to people for so long in a while, so he wasn't really sure where to put in his input. It felt like he was flat-lining.
He's the one who made me want to become a nurse.'
When Suzanne began to chatter about naming a kid after her, Roses face blushed dark red. 'Really? You'd want to do that?'
Before Rose had a chance to ask further questions, Suzanne began to talk about her dream. It was cute, and Rose couldn't hide her chuckle when she said her and Oli tangoed. It was adorable to picture.
'That sounds amazing. Maybe we'll go to the zoo one day? I've only ever been once.'
Oli made another gesture, this time motioning to himself, "T-The main event t-today? The F-Freak Show."
Thinking about what he said, Oli paused. Did they have freak shows at zoos? Or was that circuses? He didn't really know, he had never been to either.
At the mention if her own name, Rose bowed curtsying a imaginary skirt. 'Gather around ladies and gentlemen, prepare to be amazed! We can preform feats you have never seen!' She twirled her fingers in the air, acting as if magic could spew from her fingertips.
He took a hand from both Rose and Suzie in each of his, and spun them gently, "I-I think I mi... Might be u-upstaged w-with such pret... Pretty women in t-the act."
Winking at Suzanne she added, 'Our two most talented members, in a act together.' Taking Suzanne's hand as she was still gripping Oli's, she lifted them in the air in a style that reminded her of introductions at wrestling.'Tell the people of your talents Sir Oli, just like out Lovely little Suzanne has."
Bowing his head in a gentlemanly manner, "I, S-Sir Oli, can see t-the de... Dead and I-I'm the M-master of S-Stutters." He wiggled his fingers, like he was casting a spell.
"B-but we c-cannot for... Forget the l-lovely Ro... Rose! A-as pretty as h-her na... Name implies." He winked at her before releasing Rose's hand and moving to pick up Suzie to swing her around. He probably wouldn't have been able to manage it in his state, a bit shaky and dizzy, if she weren't as small as she was.
Turning to Suzanne she asked, 'A pickle you say? Sour things, never liked them.'
"I-I'm not ev... even g-going to attem... Attempted to d-do that." Oli said, referring to the backwards alphabet and his hideous stutter. Smiling, he sat back down on the bed. He didn't want to be the kill-joy in all of this by passing out, so when stuff started to get dark around the edges, he thought he might as well sit down as a safety precaution.
'You know, it's not that hard. You have to know it forward, like really good, and then it comes easy backwards.'
She smiled and leaned against the wall next to Oli's bed. Checking her watch, Rose realized it was getting late. All three of them would need to sleep soon, but she didn't want to leave Oli alone, and it was likely Suzanne would want to stay also. 'Say,' she muttered happily. 'How about a sleepover? The three of us, of course if you're okay with that Oli.'
"Of co... Course, you t-two may ha... Have the b-bed." Oli said with earnest, pushing himself back to his feet. He eyed the old chair in the corner of the room, wondering if it would be suitable for sleeping, or if the floor would be a better option.
Holding up a finger to indicate the two of them should stay put, Rose excited the room. Luckily the place she was looking for was just a few doors down. She opened the door to reveal a small closet full of blankets, pillows and other things. Grabbing four pillows, (she'd never be able to sleep with one, and maybe Suzanne would need a extra) and two blankets she quietly closed the door and turned back to Oli's room.
It only took a few minuets for Rose to return. She tossed two pillows and a blanket to chair and handed the rest to Suzanne. 'Here you are my dear.'
But, he wasn't going to try to fight it, "W-whatever y-you say."
Rose seemed like a stubborn woman, and, besides, she had already ventured out into the hall and came back with blankets for Suzie and herself. Oli sighed, laying back on the bed and scooting over to make room for the younger girl. He still felt dizzy and sick, but they didn't need to know that.
Making her way over to the chair, Rose sat with a sigh. Looking to Oli she said, 'Humor me? I'd feel better if you two took the bed. Besides,' her voice went into a humorous whisper. 'I'm a kicker.'
He rolled to his back, calling to Rose, "Y-you too, D-Darling. D-don't you d-dare wat... Watch us s-sleep." Oli was only half-joking with that. It had been a long fight getting the doctors take the security cameras out of his room, he didn't need the weird feeling of being watch come back again.
Oli fixed his pillow excessively before shoving his face into it.
Signing happily she stuck her hands out and clapped once. The light flickered slightly before turning off.
'Night'., she whispered, not really speaking to the two young adult across the room but to her brother who she had begun to think a lot about.
